Guest
How do u guys think about this upriseing star (i think he'll beat GSP)
little_kang
I think AJ has huge potential, which won't be realized where he is right now. He needs to move to a better camp to train and a camp that a strong wrestling base to help AJ try to stop GSP from taking him down. I would suggest to him going to Arizona Combat Team with CB Dollaway, Ryan Bader and many others.
Guest
Dude i love Anthony Jonhson thing is tho he has no ground game yea he can trade and bang with the best of them but if he ever get a fight with a top WW it going to end up like Paul Daley vs Jake Sheilds he just going to get tapped and quickly
seanfu
Anthony Johnson is a Rich Franklin level fighter. He'll never be the top of the top but he'll be a guy who can take out anyone not GSP/Penn level.
Guest
this kid has unlimited potential and could one day challenge GSP but right now he's just not evolved enough.
seanfu
He's overhyped due to spectacular wins. Fact is he basically was en route to a split dec over burns in the first fight. He gasses because of his crazy size and explosiveness and he's no danger on the ground. Dustin Hazelett is the guy to look out for in the future of the division. WhisperingDeath
Tommy Speer, Kevin Burns, and Luigi Firovanti aren't exactly the murderer's row of the 170lb division. The best fighter he faced, Rich Clementi, he lost to. He has promise, but we'll see if he can survive a step up in competition.
Guest
yea thats why i compared him to paul daley cause daley can not haddle elite grapplers just like jonhson but they both have ton of potential and HUGE KO
Guest
I'd love to see Anthony move to a camp like Xtreme Couture or Team Quest. He's training with Cung Le right now. Thats not really helping him improve his game. With the right camp, he could be a force.

Guest
Anthony Johnson has a pretty solid wrestling background, so I think training with Cung has been a great move to supplement his prior skills. There's also some good trainers there like Josh Thomson and BJJ coach Paul Schreiner. Somewhere down the line though, a place like Xtreme Couture would do wonders at refining the tools he already has.
Guest
Yeah I think he would do well at Xtreme Couture or even Team Quest.
little_kang
I want to create the official "feed matt hughes to anthony johnson" foundation. Dont you mean "Matt Hughes will be fed through a straw if he ever fought Anthony Johnson" Hughes has the worse possible stand up defence and Aj would ruin him standing
Guest
Yeah but Hughes would take him down and lay and pray for the duration of the match.
Guest
Yeah but Hughes would take him down and lay and pray for the duration of the match. Rumble would ko him in 5 secs
Guest
No way. He won't be on his feet long enough. Its hard to knock someone out from your back.
little_kang
Hughes wouldn't get AJ down because A) AJ has a good wrestling background, unlike the matt serra's and chris lytle's that have zero wrestling which make Hughes look godly and AJ is HUGE at 170 and physically gifted to stop all takedown attempts from Hughes

catako
Another target maybe to build the hype and then maybe a top 10 or even top 5 fighter. If he were in another division I clearly will see him as an uprising contender but at 205 will have to work really hard to get to the top.
