  1. It happened to me once, and I made sure to let everyone know about it. Now everyone knows that Dungeon Fighting Championships in Las Vegas holds out its champions if they don't sign the contract extension the org owner forces on you at the end of your contract. People should know who the disreputable orgs are. In my experience, the only way to get them to get you a fight (as I eventually got with DFC after over 10 weeks) was to be as loud and obnoxious about it as possible so the org owner feel so much pain that he wants you out of his life. I mean, if you're quiet, why wouldn't he keep screwing you? If you make every day a hell for him he will either have to endure that hell every day or let you go to make the pain stop. But the real fix is to be very careful about contract lengths. Now I never sign a contract longer than 3 months and always only with orgs I trust... actually, pretty much all my fighters are going to CFC these days because Canadian Fighting Championships is run by a very good org owner.
  2. If you want to make a statement, knock him out - don't run away for the last 2 rounds.
  3. I had a great laugh at it! I think it's a hilarious easter egg Tycoon put in the game.
  4. If you are tired of hearing about this situation there is something you can do end it. You can ask Frankie Redz to give Hater Hurter a fight offer so he can finish out his contract. You might also include mention of how he shouldn't treat other managers like this because other fight managers might be equally vocal in their distaste of such exploitive and unethical treatment. You can PM him at his profile here: http://www.mmatycoon.com/managerprofilemanager.php?MgrID=534
  5. Seems to be a good workout program. Got a friend who'se one of the most athletically strong guys I know that has incorporated the P90X stuff into his workouts for the past few months and loves it.
  6. I love old UFC propoganda articles. This one basically blames MMA fans and media as "fickle" for not supporting Anderson after the Leites fight. I wonder if Thomas Gerbasi will describe Dana White as "fickle" for his "about-face" on Anderson after last night's fight...
  7. My fighter, Hater Hurter, is being held out without a fight by Frankie Redz of Dungeon Fighting Championships in Las Vegas who is using an exploit in the game to circumvent the inactivity clause. I'll update this thread as the days go by without a fight offer. Today: 68 days since the last fight offer.
  8. Ariel Helwani is live tweeting the press conference http://twitter.com/arielhelwani Some of the more juicy quotes: DW - I don't want to see GSP vs. Silva after tonight. Silva might be the first champion fighting on a prelim. I don't want to see that sh*t To end it the way that we did was an embarrasment for me, the ufc, the fertittas, the ufc I will, I dont know how yet, but I will make this up to the fans. - DW iF YOU'RE that talented, be mike tyson. go in there and finish -- DW. dw: this one took the cake - when asked if this was more embarrassing than 97 DW -- Frankie's win may be one of the biggest upsets in UFC history.
  9. haha I was thinking more like:
  10. For those interested in the status of the project: The capital has been raised and the concept is solid. Unfortunately, there is a significant impliamentation hurdle that has been difficult to overcome. There's really two issues that are holding this back. I'm probobly going to have to talk to Mike Tycoon to figure out how to best make it work. Well, right now Mike is busy dealing with Dungeon Fighting Championships and the silly stuff that's going on with that org. But after that hopefully we can make some time to work out the remaining challenges with this project.
  11. Porter's generic strategies teach us that there's really two generic strategies that apply here: price and differentiation. All fight orgs in MMATycoon is fighting over price. They want to offer the highest priced contract to get fighters. Since there are more fight orgs than good fighters, the fighters have significant buyer power. The only way to make money as a fight org is to differentiate your product in a way that is meaningful for fighters. To differentiate your product in such a way that fighters are willing to take a little less money than another org in order to be a part of yours. That way the fighter is happy because he gets a bundle of bennefits at least equal to any other org. And the org owner is happy because money is just one aspect of the bundle he's giving the fighter, therefore allowing him to keep some money for himself. Unfortunatley, this game is very rigid and it's very difficult to differentiate your product. However, if Pilgrim's Pride can convince customers it's branded chicken is somehow better than chicken in another package, you can find a way to do it.
  12. I would LOVE to do that. You deserve to see the threats this guy made... especially for anyone that still believes his ridiculous "oh, it just takes me 64 days to find you a fight" story. Unfortunately, my PMs only go back a week. You guys should ask Mike Tycoon to go back in the server logs and find them. I would love to make them pubic for everyone to see.
  13. You posted this: This is the guy, note that he says "He makes sure to send a fight offer once my inactivity is near too." He gets a fight offer, he knows it, he sees it. He can accept it. And he did accept it. So, please, stop lying to deflect from how you treat your champions.
  14. I had no clue this trick existed, I have never used it. I hate to talk about this stuff, which is why I never have. But since it's become such a sticking point I will. There was one instance of one fighter in PRIDE who gave me an ultimatum. That manager said, "renegotiate my contract for more money or I won't fight." I told him to fight out his current contract and he was free to leave once he was done. He said he wouldn't fight. So I waited a month (30 day inactivity clause) and offered him another fight. That time he accepted. He fought the final 2 fights on his contract and left. It's not something I'm proud of. In retrospect I should have just released him. But he gave me an ultimatum, he said he wouldn't fight, and I waited to give him a fight. Even at my most evil and dastardly the most a fighter went without a fight offer in PRIDE was less than HALF of what Franky Redz is doing here. And, let me reiterate, I never even dreamed of using some kind of exploit to circumvent the contracts inactivity clause. That is beyond any kind of terrible.
  15. I respect that. Hater Hurter was in DFC for 11 months. It's not like he won the belt and never defended it. It's been 11 months. At a point in time some people might want a change of scenery (and perhaps a more ethical/competent org owner) If you have the patience to stay in a situation even longer, hey, I respect that. But I hope you might see how sometimes, some people might want a change of scenery after being with the same org for nearly a year.
  16. If Franky Redz holds your fighter out for 64 days (and counting... still no fight offer) and you don't like it, you're just "acting like a little girl" in his mind. If he's the org owner you want to deal with, that's cool. But this is what he says, this is what he does.
  17. Know the risks of taking a title fight in DFC. If you get the title you are enslaved to DFC and will suffer the same treatment I'm getting if you ever try to leave before you are defeated. I was an aliance mate, my fighter had been in DFC for 11 fights over 11 months. If he treats me like this why would he treat you different? In Franky Redz's mind, he's the victim. You're leaving with the title. You should be enslaved to his org! Therefore, he thinks he's allowed to do whatever he wants to hurt you for daring to not stay under his boot.
  18. It is simply because I didn't want to renegotiate extra fights on the contract. 2 months ago he threatened to hold my fighter out for a year unless I signed a contract extension and he's been fulfilling on that threat ever since. This is THE FIRST TIME in the last 63 days that there has been any talk of Hater Hurter getting a fight. Do you think it takes any halfway decent org owner 63 days to get a fighter a fight? And, just coincidentally, he gets the fight on the very night this thread is made? Does any of this pass the smell test? By the way, I still do not have a fight offer. I want to reiterate, this is no trivial amount of time. I have been trying to resolve this issue for over 2 months behind closed doors. I don't post on these forums much, I don't like making things a big deal. It consumes energy I'd rather invest in other activities. But at this point, it has gone to such an extreme that people have to know what this kid is all about. Others need to be warned of the risks of dealing with Dungeon Fighting Championships in Las Vegas so this doesn't happen to them.
  19. Take it away Franky Redz, what's the rest of the story? If there's more to the story I don't know it. Franky Redz is more than free to say if there's anything more to it than my fighter agreeing to fight out a contract but not signing a contract extension. Everything I have said is the full and complete truth. I am more than happy to allow Mike Tycoon to go in the server logs and independenty verify everything I've said. All these communications are logged in messages in the game, they do not like they dissapear. I can post the messages or Mike Tycoon can look them up himself to verify it is all 100% accurate. What I have said is simply the truth. And that is why I had to let the community know.
  20. Let me be very clear. There has never been an issue of taking a fight. I have always accepted every fight DFC has given me and I clearly communicated to Franky Redz that I would fight any fighter put in front of Hater Hurter. The only sin of Hater Hurter is that he didn't want to sign a contract extension after giving 11 fights over 11 months to DFC.
  21. There's the admission. And, as you can see, this unethical org owner has no problem skirting the "inactivity clause" rules with his trick. He actually boasts of being able to hold fighters out for 10 months at a time. Beware of any contract offers you recieve from him.
  22. This is a warning, do not sign any fighters to Dungeon Fighting Championships in Las Vegas. He has been breaking the rules of the game to hold my fighter, 155lb champion Hater Hurter, out of the fight game for over 63 days and has threatened to hold him out until Dec. 31st, 2010. What sin has my fighter commited? Only wanting to finish out his contract, fight all the fights he agreed to, but not sign a contract extension. If you do not sign a contract extension, Franky Redz holds your fighter out. What Franky Redz does is offer a fight for 1 second and then cancel it immediately before you ever see it, so you never have chance to accept or deny the fight. What that does is reset the inactivity clause so he never has to offer your fighter a fight. Therefore, he can hold your fighter out all the way until Dec. 31, 2010 as he is doing to mine. I have waited 63 days in order to try to work things out, but he has been completely uncooperative. Now I have to warn others. Dungeon Fighting Championships is run by one of the most unethical org owners in the game. Sign with him at your own risk.
