Eleventhsun
I thought it would be an interesting topic, just wondering where you all get your fighter names from. There are some interesting ones here, some obvious ones that are real people. How many people use their real names? Mine Aaron Moore - My real name Jimmy Cheeseburger was a quick idea because I wasn't feeling creative. Richard Ramirez is obvious. The rest of my fighters I just took male names that I liked a lot, and then made their last names demon names,Sebastian Abigor,Bane Baphomet,Xavier Belial, Brann Samael. Qrash
I went online and searched for random name generators. Found one that lets you pick nationalities, too.

seanfu
I put together names from other nationalities, unusual american names, and brazilian names. For instance Andelko Antun is Croatian. You see those names as the first two to pop up under alphebetic popular names in Croatia. Triston Baal is a combo of an unusual Amderican name and a mythological demon Baal. Roman Mousassi- Odd American name and fighter last name.
Guest
Roman is obviously a Latin name, not an American . I like the name generator. I don't like the pain of having to come up with a new name each time.

MMATycoon
Mine are a mix of things. - Pithe Canthropus is named after Pithecanthropus, which is a focilised remains of the oldest known human. As he was the first fighter I thought it was apt. - Cornelius Crumpet from Windsor is the poshest English name I could think of. - Mark Kermodian is named after Mark Kermode, who's an English film critic. and it's . If you can find his rant about Sex and the City, that's one of the best. Chris Mayo is named after Simon Mayo, who is the presenter he does his film critic stuff with. - Phillip Barron is named after Phil Baroni just cos I saw the avatar and thought it looked like him. - Craig Davis is a piss take of Craig David, as seen in . - Terry Bull is just a cheesy pun. - Jason Lee is the former Nottingham Forest legend / cult hero - Trevor Robertson - combo of Trevor Francis and John Robertson - the two scorers for Forest when we won the European Cup twice in a row. - Harry Morgan - character from Dexter. sabaton
I play a lot of RPG games, so I'm constantly trying to come up with new name ideas. Whenever I have one, I write it down on a notecard that I keep with all of the names, as well as Ideas that I might draw a name from. Musical Lyrics also helps me come up with some names as well. Characters in other PC games. Mixing words together to get something cool sounding, or simply changing the spelling of a word to something else. And from reading books. There's a lot of cool sounding names in history books. A lot of those latin names are real nice, and obscure enough that few people know who they were. That's where I get my names mostly. He thinks "Angels and Deamons" is ridiculous and stupid, and Dan Brown books is the worst literature ever. He is my hero and rolemodel. Guest
Four of my fighters are named and built after me and three of my friends, who are training combat sports. Well, not exactly like us but pretty close. For example Fedor Podrezov does not know anything about bjj in real life, but he has couple of years aikido training. And Konstantin Kalyagin has knocked down quite a few people with beer bottle to the head or punch to the groin, so i figured i shoud make him with decent enough striking. Fear him. Alexandr Suvorov was a great Russian general of late 18th century, arguably the best in Europe of his time. There are already many fighters and managers named after characters from the saga "Song of Ice and Fire". So i created Tyrion Lannister - it was the only name left from the book. He is ugly handicaped midget and pretty f@cked up person all around, but i like him. And he can fight - if you let him bring arbalet or battle axe into the cage. Here is a picture of him: http://www.amokanet.ru/gallery/martin/port...amp;template=82 And George "R.R." Martin is the man who wrote this book. His quest will be to find all fighters from his book and fight them! There are plenty of them: Bronn Blackwater was in top-10 recently, Arthur Dayne, Ned, Benjen and Robb Stark, Sandor Cleagen, Brenden Tully. All of them are strong fighters but lets see how they'll fare against their creator, bwa-hahaha!
PSUMike
Mike Pointek - my real name Harry Kalas - I am a huge Phillie fan and Harry Kalas was their announcer. I created Harry the day the real Harry passed away. Thomas Sawyer - I wanted to create a purebred wrestler and since wrestling in MMA in heavily dominated by Americans, what better than the All American Boy? Billy Stevens - generic name Boa Constrictor - pure bred BJJ guy that will wrap you up like a snake Vladdy Stanislov - Russian guy and that was all I could come up with Rufus Lee - I just wanted to give him a rediculous first name Oliver Clothesoff - lol, just me being me Tsuyoshi Nakayama - a combination of Nakamura and Takayama. The first name was kind of the bastard child of a lot of asian influences Daley Bornstein - my best friend who was born in Australia. I purposely misspelled his last name though. Toast17
"Schneidmiller" was a last name that I first saw on a computer generated rookie player in the Madden NFL games. I just attach first names that I like with it. It's such a stupid last name that it's awesome Marcus Louis Rob(was the madden player's first name >_>) Jeremy(I don't really like this one. Don't know what I was thinking)

Guest
George Whissell was my grandfather. My grandma likes to talk about what a sex fiend he was. Needless to say he was my hero. He's passed on now. Jamal Chambers is a combination of my nephew Jamal and my ex-roommate Jair Chambers. Jair used to kick my ass all the time. Cohen Maloney is just an awesome name. Cohen is the name of my unborn son and Maloney just sounded awesome. David Johanssen- Completely off the top of my head. I think I was flipping through an Ikea catalogue at the time. JD Stylo is an indirect homage to BJ Penn. Stylo being the french word for pen. the JD was just 2 random letters. Michael Kelly also just random. 2 names from the phone book. Tyson Jax is a tribute to my buddy TJ. He is a professional wrestler in the WWE. He goes by the name of Tyson Kidd. He's a great guy and I'm so stoked for him. Felix Pomfrey is a british sounding name that I thought was kind of uncharacteristic of a fighter. Gino Carano was obviously the male counterpart to the lovely Gina. Morgan Kismet is fairly random as well. I like the name Morgan and Kismet is an awesome sounding word with a pretty cool meaning.
