CWFC 44 Preview

Tonight's fight card is coming to you live from Hayashi's Lounge in downtown LA. There are a few minor celebrities in attendance tonight. Apparently Charlie Wang's is the hot item among the Hollywood set.

We've got an exciting card planned tonight headlined by a heavyweight title fight between challenger Blow "job" Jimmy and champion Brian "Bomber" King.

Our undercard will feature some up and coming fighters. Our undercard bouts are Palmer vs. Duvalier, Me vs. Melendez, Verson vs. Kit, Grande vs. Lonzo and Wilson vs. Simpson. Let's get to the mid card and main event previews.

"bad ink job" Silverback Lesnar 22-11 vs. Michael "The scythe" Gromowski 8-6 - Lesnar came out last time with a new attitude. Having lost his previous 2 fight via decision he promised to start finishing opponents instead of relying on the judges to declare him the winner. That proved to be a smart decision as he took the fight to Arnold Palmer and knocked him out early in the second round. Gromowski may want to take the same approach. He lost his Wang's debut last time out via decision. Lesnar has advantages in boxing and wrestling. Gromowski has the edge in Muay Thai. Both fighters are even in BJJ with purple belts.

"The Cat" Felix St Pierre 15-9 vs. Jeremy "The Great Hegemonic War" Johnson 34-6 - Complete style clash in this one as we have ground fighter, St.Pierre, versus stand up, Johnson. St.Pierre has the obvious ground advantage thanks to his red belt in BJJ. He has 13 of his 15 wins by way of submission. Johnson has 21 of his 34 wins by KO or TKO. Johnson has advantages in boxing and wrestling. Both fighters are even in Muay Thai.

Sam "Hong Kong" Phuey 10-3 vs. Travis "Little Rhino" Hunter 18-9 - We have a special challenge match in this bout. Phuey was signed to a 1 fight deal specifically for this fight. Phuey has the obvious advantage in the stand up given his edge in boxing and Muay Thai. Hunter has split his wins between submissions and decisions so its is a good bet that he will not look to stand and band with Phuey. Working against him is the fact that both fighters are evenly matched in wrestling and BJJ.

Co-Main Event

Bradley Nowell 15-3 vs. "The Auto Parts King" Ray Zalinski 9-3 - Nowell enters on a very impressive 6 fight winning streak. Zylinski enters on a 2 fight win streak of his own. The winnner of this fight will be setting themselves up for future title fight consideration.Nowell will have the advantage in MuaybThai and wrestling. Zalinski counters with the advantage in boxing and BJJ. Both fighters have shown a propensity to finish fights by way of TKO/KO.

MAIN EVENT

HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

Blow "Job" Jimmy 12-6 vs. Brian "Bomber" King 20-7 - Jimmy has been dominant since entering Charlie Wang's, winning both of his fights. He is on an overall 3 fight winning streak. King has been even more dominant with an overall 4 fight winning streak and 2 since entering Charlie Wang's. King will be making his first title defense after winning the title by way of a 2nd round TKO over former champion Brent Caerdinn. Both fighters are fairly even in all aspects of the fight. Jimmy will have a slight edge in BJJ thanks to his black belt. King counters with slight advantages in boxing and Muay Thai. Both fighters are even in wrestling.

As usual, tonight's fights are being brought to you our merchandise partner, Charlie Wang's Nutrition and Laundry. They announced in the pre-fight press conference that they have just started production on their first 159 quality recovery supplement and expect the first shipments to arrive at the beginning of March. They are so confident in their product that they have posted proof of quality on their company page.

For those in the betting mood, Charlie Wang's Betting Parlor is taking small wagers on some of tonight's fights.

Charlie Wang's 46 will be coming to you live from Hyashi's lounge on 2-26-12. Our 46th fight card is highlighted by a Super Heavyweight Title fight. The super heavyweight #1 contender Butt Piracy was in attendance at the pre-fight press conference causing quite the commotion. Piracy challenged both fighters to fights just before daring them both to whip out their junk for a measuring contest. I think he may have been a bit intoxicated. He also promised to be in attendance at the fight, no word on whether or not his junk would be hanging out if he shows. On to the fights.

Our under card will feature the following bouts:

Blaster vs. Koscheck

O'Leary vs. Highway

Finley vs.Bearinstein

Petrosyan vs. Bateman

Rodriquez vs. Maguire

"R.R." George Martin 18-13 vs. "Iron" Mike Byson 18-9 - Skillwise Byson is a huge underdog in this contest. Martin has the advantage in Muay Thai, wrestling and BJJ. Byson has a slight edge in boxing and he will have to put it to his advantage if he has any hope of winning. Martin is making his org debut while Byson is looking to rebound from a decision loss to Steve Daw.

Short Fuse 6-1 vs. Jun Fan 5-2 - Fuse is on a 2 fight winning streak and he has 3 out of 4 overall since joining Wang's with his only loss coming to 265+ champ McWeeny. Fan rebounded from his 2 straight losses to score a submission win against Coolpunch last time out.Fuse is a former brawl and sprawl fighter that has started to round out his overall fight game. Fan is all ground game all of the time. Fuse has the edge in boxing and wrestling. Fan has the edge in wrestling and BJJ.

Yuoki "Illuminati" Akamara 17-9-1 vs. Heinrich "The Hammer" Dussander 17-10 - Akamara is our former 145lb champ. He lost the belt in his last fight against Jet Pan. He's looking to get a rematch if he wins here. Dussander is making his Wang's debut after time spent in Blitz-Rio. Akamara is the underdog in this bout since Dussander has the advantage in all of the primary skills.

CO-MAIN EVENT

Edward "Pain Redefined" Jones 15-1 vs. Rampage "Certain Death" Strykzilla 6-1 - Both fighters have taken care of business since joining Wang's. Jones won his debut last time out while Strykzilla has won 4 of 5 since joining Wang's including the last 3 in a row. Jones has the advantage in Muay Thai and BJJ. Strykzilla possesses the boxing edge. Both fighters are rated as equal in wrestling.

MAIN EVENT

SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE

Glen Rosalando 21-16 vs. Malcom "Mal" McWeeny 16-4 - Rosalondo won his debut fight in Wang's to secure himself the title shot against McWeeny. McWeeny meanwhile has been totally dominant since joining Wang's. He's won 6 fights in a row including the last 3 for the title. Hopefully the comments by #1 contender, Butt Piracy, won't cast a shadow over the fight. The fighters have a combined 30 combined wins by KO/TKO ad zero by submission. In MMA math that means we're going to see a stand up war. Rosalondo has the edge in boxing, wrestling and a slight edge in BJJ. McWeeny has the edge in Muay Thai.

Tonight's fight card merchandise partner is again Charlie Wang's Nutrition and Laundry. They are proudly now carrying a 159 recovery supplement.

Fights confirmed for CWFC 81:

Light Heavyweight Division: Evander "Real Deal" Holyfield (13-10-1) vs "A-Train" Alex Long (20-17-0)

The night will start with the encounter of Holyfield and Long. Both fighters are struggling to establish a winning streak but this will be a great opportunity to prove that they are not yet worn out. Long will have his first public appearance as a CWFC fighter while Holyfield is looking to bounce back after his loss in his CWFC debut match against Lucretia Reflection and to end his 3 fight losing streak. Both are excellent boxers and good wrestlers but we'll see if Long's cardio can lasts up to 3 rounds with Holyfield's quickness.

Light Heavyweight Division: David Jones (12-7-2) vs. Glaube Silva (10-6-0)

These fighters never met in No Exit FC before but tonight is the night they've been waiting for. A classic battle between a standup artist Silva and a ground fighter Jones . If Silva can keep this find standing then he will surely dominate this match. Otherwise, Jones will come out victorious.

Lightweight Division: "Papai" Bondye Viktorye (12-12-0) vs. "The Warrior" Reggie Warren ( 18-11-0)

Warren and Viktorye are looking to avenge himself after losing their previous matches in CWFC 73 and 74 againts Joe Hollis and David Baker respectively. Warren is undoubtedly the better fighter in terms of primary skill but we'll see if Viktorye has something prepared under his sleeves.

Welterweight Division: Holden "Aerial" James (14-8-1) vs. Otto "The Taxcollector" Vetch (8-7-1)

Losing his last two fights in his career, Vetch leaves EEC and joins CWFC hoping to recover and start all over again. Vetch has the advantage in Muay Thai, Wrestling and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu but James is looking to score a knockout if he connects clean with Vetch's chin.

Featherweight Division: Wyatt "Frenchy" Babineaux (16-7-0) vs. Sorgi "Killbox" Kartov (13-12-0)

"Frenchy" and "Killbox" are both MMA veterans here in the CWFC. "Frenchy" is very confident right now prevailing in 8 of his last 9 fights . "Killbox" seems to be lost having a hard time finding his way back but the cancellation of his fight at CWFC 75 will make him agitated in this bout. Both seems to be equally matched but Kartov's Muay Thai advantage might help him a lot in winning this fight.

Featherweight Division: Rodrigo Verson (18-10-0) vs. LaVern "N" Shirley (17-14-0)

Familiar isn't it? This fight will be the second installment of Verson vs. Shirley. Verson dominated their first match at CWFC 62 Grand Prix 2nd round by attempting countless submissions. Since then, both have been on a losing tier, Verson losing his title match against Don Key and Shirley losing his last five fights via unanimous decisions. Verson will have a clear-cut advantage concerning their primary skills.

Welterweight Division: Daniel "Punches Like a Girl" Rand (16-12-0) vs. Roger D Roger (14-6-0)

Rand's hunger to win will be put to a test against Roger, a former Welterweight champion of the closed Ragnarok Fighting Championship. This will be a great battle for position since Rand is more of a standup artist while Roger is a ground fighter.

Heavyweight Division: Gray "Puff" Potter (21-9-0) vs. "The Auto Parts King" Ray Zalinski (12-7-0)

Two sprawl and brawlers will be put against each other in an expected boxing match. Zalinski will have a boxing and ground fighting advantage . In contrast, Potter will have a slight edge in clinch.

Heavyweight Division: Ololo Pysh Pysh (19-16-1) vs. Matthieu "Reaper" Renaud (12-6-0)

In the co-main event of the evening, we'll witness a very entertaining confrontation between two different fighters. Pysh will have an edge in boxing, wrestling and brazilian jiu jitsu while Renaud has muay thai advantage.Pysh will definitely push this fight to the ground and work his submission supremacy there while Reanaud wants to reap a victory using his vicious standup strikings.

Featherweight Division: "The Cat" Felix St Pierre (18-11-1) vs. "Sweet" Horatio Jacobs (18-15-0)

And now, the most awaited match of the night, we will witness another classic fight between St Pierre and Jacobs. Jacobs decided to leave EUFC after losing his last 3 fights and hoping to stop this cold run by joining CWFC. On the other hand, St Pierre is no new to CWFC and now focusing to continue his winning streak after giving Kazuo Hashimoto a dreadful kimura. Jacobs is a phenomenal striker being elite in boxing while St Pierre's BJJ red belt is well earned and can be proven by his 16 submission wins.

CWFC 82 INDEPENDENCE DAY BASH Preview

By: David Bateson

Together with dozens of festivals and celebrations for 4th of July, Charlie Wang's Fight Club in association with Charlie Wang's Nutrition and 95 % Laundry will bring the biggest event of the month, commemorating the independence day of Los Angeles.

The following are the title matches that will be featured in the event:

Featherweight Championship: Jeffy Jefferson (19-18-0) vs. Buakaw "Dog Out of Bangkok" Kit (7-3-0)

Equipped with exceptional boxing, exceptional Muay Thai, Remarkable wrestling and a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Buakaw Kit will face his biggest opponent in his mma career, the CWFC Featherweight Champion Jeffy Jefferson. However, Jefferson is armed with boxing, Exceptional Muay Thai, Wonderful wrestling and a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and looking to defend his title that he got from the former champion Mondo Topless. This will be an all out game as both fighters are coming to this bout hoping to extend their winning streak to three, a great match to start the evening.

Bantamweight Championship: Christopher Gracie (23-6-1) vs. Vladimir Putin (16-8-0)

After winning his last three fights, Vladimir Putin has earned the right to battle the newly crowned CWFC Bantamweight Champion Christopher Gracie. Gracie added his 20th victory via (T)KOs and submission after crushing the former champ Viktor Herzog with a head shot and a flying knee followed by flurry of strikes on the ground. On the other hand, majority of Putin's victories are coming by decisions most notably his domination in his previous fight against Kappi Bateman. Can Gracie end this fight with a brilliant (T)KO or submission or will Putin's dominance will prevail making him the new champion?

Lightweight Championship: Zak Mckracken (9-4-0) vs. "Donkey Style AKA Badonk-a" Don Key (14-2-1)

Coming to this fight with so much hype surrounding him, the CWFC Lightweight Champion Don Key is set to defend his title for the 5th time against an up-and-coming prospect Zak McKraken. Is Mckracken's Exceptional boxing, Proficient Muay Thai, Remarkable wrestling and purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu enough to score an upset against Key's Exceptional boxing, Elite Muay Thai, Remarkable wrestling and brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and stop his invincible nine fight winning streak since joining CWFC? That's for you, supporters and fans, to figure it out.

Super Heavyweight Championship: Short Fuse (10-1-0) vs. "Blizzard of Strikes" Snow Crash (14-3-0)

After losing to Malcolm McWeeny in his first title match, Short Fuse has bounced back winning all of his last six fights via T(KO). Now he is set on to fight the CWFC Super Heavyweight Champion Snow Crash on his second title defense. Expect this fight to be a brawl since majority if not all of their fights are coming by way of (T)KO.

CWFC 85 PREVIEW

Tonight’s fight card is coming to you live from King Theater in LA. It features main and co-main events starring 4 of our top super heavyweight contenders.

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin (18-13) vs. "Franco" Vince Brasil (6-4-2)

Austin has lost 4 fights in a row and 5 of his last 6. Four of the losses have come by way of submission so there’s obviously a gap in his game. Brasil has only 1 win in his last 6 fights as well combined with 3 losses and 2 draws. All but 1 of the losses was by decision so he can go the distance if needed. At 33 years old, Austin may be thinking about hanging it up with a loss here. Brasil has just signed a minor contract extension with the org to try his hand at 145 lbs.

Prediction – Going to go out on a limb here and pick Austin in an upset as he rides off into retirement.

Adam O Leary 97-3) vs. "Whiny" Wan Iaton (23-11)

O Leary is coming off a terrible submission loss his last time out when he tapped out with 1 second left in the first. Iaton took the loss by decision after a 3 fight win streak, he’ll be looking to re-establish himself as a contender at 155 lbs. Both fighters win the majority of their fights via decision so this one looks to go the distance although Iaton has shown the ability to score the KO/TKO.

Prediction – Iaton by TKO

Burnt "Like A Match" Faceman (13-9) vs. "The Shylock" Joe Hollis (23-9-1)

On paper this fight looks like a major mismatch in Hollis’ favor. Faceman secured a victory last time out in his Wang’s debut after having trouble scoring victories in DBC. Hollis is 1-1 since joining Wang’s. He’s looking to make one final championship push before retirement comes calling.

Prediction – Hollis by decision

Manny "The Maniac" Machado (7-3) vs. Sorgi "Killbox" Kartov (13-13)

Machado rebounded nicely his last time out with a win against Giap via submission. Kartov has lost 5 in a row with 1 NC in his last 6 fights. He looks to be reaching the end of his MMA career. Kartov still has the superior skills so it wouldn’t be a shock to see him score the win today. Machado’s last 2 losses came via decision so he’ll be looking to avoid the judges cards and score the ko or submission.

Prediction – Machado by decision

Joey "The Italian Stallion" De Andreas (13-13) vs. Daniel "Shaolin" Do (8-3-1)

De Andreas rebounded from a 4 fight losing streak with a 1st round TKO win against Tom Tucker. Do is making his Wang’s debut tonight and he’s looking to re-establish himself as a contender after a tough time in Rising. De Andreas will have to be cautious of Do’s skills on the ground as 6 of his wins have come via submission.

Prediction – Do by subimission

Deejay Vendetta (17-11) vs. Heath Smith (18-6)

Vendetta will be finishing up in Wang’s by looking to spoil Smith’s run to the title. Smith is on a title crusade with 2 wins already in Wang’s. He’ll most certainly be getting an inaugural title shot with a win here. Smith has a slight edge due to his NCAA wrestling background but otherwise the fighters are fairly evenly matched.

Prediction – Smith by decision

Ricardo Brown (10-6) vs. Stand "And" Bang (13-11)

Brown had a successful Wang’s debut with a split decision win against Laz Hercules. Bang has an even record after a tough loss against Kronic. All 13 of Bang’s have come by way of TKO/KO so he’ll most certainly be looking for the power shots. Brown’s no slouch in the power department with 7 of his 10 wins coming via the TKO/KO. This fight looks to have fireworks from the start.

Prediction – Bang by TKO

Viacheslav Datsik (15-6) vs. "Snake" Jake The (10-9-1)

Both fighters are making their Wang’s debuts tonight. Both will be looking to establish themselves as immediate title contenders with a win in this one. Jake The has won 4 in a row and will definitely be trying to extend the streak. Datsik has won 6 of his last 7 fights. Datsik has the edge in boxing. Jake has the slight edge in Muay Thai and Bjj.

Prediction – Datsik by TKO

CO-MAIN EVENT

"Le Horrifique" Gargantua Pantagruel (8-2) vs. Teijo Tarzan (13-7)

These fighters look to be headed in opposite directions as Pantagruel has won 2 fights in a row and Tarzan has lost 2 in a row. This bout also looks to be a clash of styles as Pantagruel has scored 7 of his 8 wins by submission. Tarzan has 12 of his 13 wins by TKO/KO. Pantagruel has the obvious edge on the ground while Tarzan has it in the stand up aspects of the game. The match will rest on whoever executes their plan best.

Prediction – Pantagruel by submission

MAIN EVENT

Chronic Kronic (12-6) vs. Butt "Anal Lube" Piracy (9-6)

A win by either of these contenders will put them in the immediate title picture. Piracy has lost both previous title shots and Kronic has been saying in pre-fight pressers that Piracy doesn’t have what it takes to make the next step. Kronic has been a bit up and down since moving to super heavyweight, he’ll have to show some consistency to prove he’s a top contender for the title. Both fighters are even in BJJ with Kronic having the edge in wrestling. Piracy has the edge in boxing and Muay Thai and has scored an impressive 8 TKO/KOs.

Prediction – Piracy by TKO.

Charlie Wang’s would like to thank our sponsor tonight, Charlie Wang’s Nutrition. They have concession stands located throughout the arena tonight offering great deals.

CWFC 86 Preview

CWFC 86 will be coming to you live from King Theater in LA tonight. Tonight's card is sponsored by Charlie Wang's Nutrition. Tonight's card will feature a co-main event of Rampage Strykzilla versus Phil Deblunt and a main event title fight between Havvik Brown and Champion Nick Fury.

Preliminary fights include the following:

265 lbs Jason Davis vs. Jovon Chambers

145 lbs Diago Sanchez vs. Tom Tucker

170 lbs Mark Munoz vs. Dalern Hardt

185 lbs Adam Murth vs. Turd Ferguson

265+ lbs Big John vs. Francois Duvalier

"Remarkable Plus" Curtis Lind (22-14) vs. Yoshihiro Takaya (21-10) Lind won in his Wang's debut last time out to end a 5 fight skid. Takaya is making his Wang's debut tonight and is currently on a 3 fight losing streak himself from his previous org. Lind has more submission victories despite having the lesser BJJ belt. Both are former champions looking to regain some past glory and contend for a title in Charlie Wang's.

Shane Griffin (11-6) vs. Ludovic Presle (21-12-1) Griffin took a loss in his org debut last time out with a submission loss to Strykzilla, only his second such loss in his career. Presle has alternated wins and losses since joining Wang's and will be looking to add consistency to his repertoire. Neither fight has much in the way of ground skills so this one looks to stay standing. With 27 wins by TKO/KO between them this one should end soon and be very exciting.

"Magnificent" Monty Brown (9-6) vs. Sean Stone (10-2) Brown is making his Wang's debut tonight against one of our most proven fighters in Sean Stone. Born would appear to have the advantage skill-wise but Stone just finds ways to win when he enters the cage.

Co-Main Event

Rampage "Certain Death" Strykzilla (10-2) vs. Phil "Adonis" DeBlunt (20-15) Strykzilla will be looking to become the next in line for a title shot with a win here against DeBlunt. DeBlunt meanwhile will be looking to rebound from a loss after 2 straight wins. Sixteen of DeBlunt's wins have come via TKO/KO, so he will be looking to stand and bang away. Strykzille has 6 of his 10 wins by submission so he'll be looking to take the opposite approach and get the fight to the ground so he can score the submission victory.

Main Event

185 lb Championship

Havvick Brown (32-4) vs. Nick Fury (15-4)

This is a rematch thats been a while in the making. Brown was well on his way to becoming one of Wang's most popular champs when he lost to Fury in March. Fury has taken the reigns and proven to be a dominant champion himself. One more win by Fury will go a long way towards establishing himself as a future Wang's Hall of Fame. Brown, meanwhile, has been rebounding nicely with 4 straight wins. He hasn't complained once as others have gotten title shots. That is another true mark of a champion ladies and gentlemen, one that should be admired in today's "me-first" era. I truthfully wish both fighters the best of luck. Charlie Wang's will do well with either of these true warriors as champion.

CWFC 87 Preview

Charlie Wang's Fight Club is happy to bring to you tonight's card live from King Theater in LA. As usual our merchandise partner is Charlie Wang's Nutrition and our bookmaker Charlie Wang's Betting Parlor. Tonight's card features a whole host of our top contenders highlighted by Renaud vs. Zalinski and former champion Snow Crash vs. Salvador Saballe.

Our undercard features the following fights:

Pierre La Plante v Jebediah Stewart

Mike Byson v Hildebrand Gardiner Wright Blackwood

Master Blaster v Walker Patton

Craig Little v Tekken Slice

Steve Hershey v Genghis The Mongol

On to the mid card previews.

Roger D Roger (14-7) vs. Otto "The Taxcollector" Vetch (9-7-1) Roger took a loss last time out in his Wang's debut by TKO. He was coming off a 4 fight win streak at the time so it was quite a rude welcome to the org. Vetch had better luck in his debut by scoring a submission victory. Both fighters have very high all around skills with Roger having a slight edge in wrestling versus Vetch's slight edge in Muay Thai.

"Sweet" Horatio Jacobs (18-16) vs. Rodrigo Verson (19-10) Both fighters need to take the next step in this one or risk falling victim to the horrible journeyman label. Jacobs lost in his debut to increase his total to 3 in a row. Verson bookended wins against Shirley with 2 losses to Smith and Champion Don Key. Jacobs has the slight edge in boxing, Muay Thai and wrestling to Verson's edge in BJJ.

David Belkofer (12-7) vs. Quentin "Needles" Cane (23-12) Belkofer has the unique privilege of having lost to the weight class champion 3 times since fighting for Wang's. With a second win in a row he'll be lookign to score a 4th title shot. Cane is looking for a complete change of scenery in Charlie Wang's. He's lost 2 in a row and 4 of his last 5. Cane has the experience advantage as well as the edge in wrestling. Belkofer has the edge in Muay Thai.

Co-Main Event

Salvador "Mr. Punishment" Saballe (16-5) vs. "Blizzard of Strikes" Snow Crash (14-4) Saballe rebounded nicely with a win against Rizzo after getting bounced in the open weight tournament. Crash lost his super heavyweight title against Short Fuse last time out. He'll be looking to get that return match for the title with a win tonight. Saballe has the stand up advantage in boxing and Muay Thai. Fuse has the edge in wrestling and both fighters are even in BJJ.

Main Event

Matthieu "Reaper" Renaud (13-6) vs. "The Auto Parts King" Ray Zalinski (13-7) Renaud has won 2 in a row against top fighters in the heavyweight division and he's looking to take the next step towards top contender for King's belt. Zalinski was on a bit of a slide after losing his title fight to King but he grabbed a win last time out against Potter. Renaud has a very distinct advantage in Muay Thai as Zalinski has neglected this very important discipline. He has decided to focus on the other 3 where he has slight advantages in all 3.

CWFC 88 Preview

Undercard

Evander "Real Deal" Holyfield (13-11-1) vs. "R.R." George Martin (20-16)

"Chucky" Nemanja Tancev (10-2) vs. New Knox (6-5)

"A-Train" Alex Long (21-17) vs. Glaube Silva (11-6)

"Deadpool" Wade Wilson (8-3) vs. Tee Bone (25-25)

Luiz "The Boogeyman " Soto (17-7) vs. Vladimir Putin (16-9)

Midcard

Wyatt "Frenchy" Babineaux (17-7) vs. "The Cat" Felix St Pierre (19-11)

Babineaux has been with Wang's since the 4th card and has compiled an impressive 9-2 record in that time. Unfortunately most have been via decision which has not helped his hype or popularity with the fans. St. Pierre has been around just as long amassing a 7-3-1 record here in Wang's. Babineaux has the stand up edge against St.Pierre's dominant BJJ game.

205lb Title

Quinton "Sledge" Lind (17-10) vs. Champion Fred "Headstone" Hanks (22-13)

This one is a long awaited rematch involving two of our top fighters. Hanks has been sporadically defending his title for the last few months while participating in an overseas tournament. Lind has been working to get back for another shot at the title. Hanks has lost 4 out of his last 5 since last defending the title and may be on his last legs. Lind has the edge in Muay Thai and wrestling as well as pre-fight trash talking.

Chris "BIG BOSS" Bosh (12-4) vs. Falko Estrada (13-1)

This one promises to be the #1 contender match for the new 205lb champ.Bosh has gone 8-2 since joining Wang's with his only hurdle being 2 losses to Dima Huxley. Falko is recently signed with Wang's after an impressive career over at UFC. Bosh has slight advantages in wrestling and BJJ and may be looking to get the fight on the ground to full advantage. Falko has the edge in both stand up disciples of boxing and Muay Thai so he'll obviously be looking to keep the fight standing.

Co-Main Event

145 lb Title

"The Natural Weapon" Kim Figueroa (18-1) vs. Champion Jeffy Jefferson (20-18)

Figueroa has become one of the most talked about signings since being brought in by the management at Wang's. He has run of an impressive 14 victories in a row after taking his 1 and only loss in his 5th fight. Jefferson has become the "Rocky" of Wang's, with his up and down career and surprising title win. On paper, Jefferson has the superior skills to keep his title but that .500% record has to scare you a bit.

170 lb Championship

Mal "Tightpants" Reynolds (15-7) vs. Champion "Donkey Style AKA Badonk-a" Don Key (15-2-1)

No matter the outcome in this one Don Key has garnered his spot in the Wang's Hall of Fame later this year. He currently holds title in 2 separate weight classes while winning every fight he's had since being at Wang's. This fight though is also a title rematch in which Reynolds lost his belt. He had a brief let down after the Don Key loss but has won 3 in a row to get back in title contention. Key is primed and ready for this match up, already talking smack on the event discussion board. Both fighters have superior skills so this could go either way.

CWFC 89 Preview

Charlie Wang's Fight Club 89 coming to you live and in person from King Theater in LA. Our card tonight is highlighted by a super heavyweight title fight between Wade Stoker and new champion Snow Crash.

Preliminary Fights

Augustus Cole vs. Conchito El Guapo

Bukk Wild vs. Steve Dale

Martin Zaromskis vs. Better Muller

Joe Average vs. Holden James

Mid Card

"The Cruncher" Freddy Smith (10-4) vs. Gray "Puff" Potter (21-10). Smith rebounded after 2 straight losses, with TKO win against Cole last time in the cage. Potter has lost 2 in a row and 4 of his last 5 fights. It looks to be a match of fighters headed in opposite directions. Smith has the edge in BJJ with a brown belt, despite finishing only 3 fight via submission. Potter has 14 wins by TKO/KO 7 by decision so he's an all or nothing fighter.

Mondo "The Giant" Topless (20-4) vs. Leko Pavicevic (11-7). Topless, once a title contender, has struggled since his first title loss in January going 3-3. Pavicevic may be headed in the other direction. He has a tough start in Wang's losing his first 3 fight but has turned it around lately, winning 4 in a row. Topless has the edge in the stand up skills of boxing and Muay Thai while Pavicevic has the advantage in the ground skills of wrestling and BJJ.

Ololo Pysh Pysh (19-17-1) vs. Dustin "D.D." Douglas (15-2). I think Pysh Pysh is getting close to finishing his career here, he's getting older and has lost 4 fights in a row and 6 of his last 8. Double D is making his Wang's debut tonight after a successful stint in which he's won 3 in a row and 10 of his last 11 fights. He'll be looking to continue the trend and prove that he's an immediate contender for the heavyweight belt. Pysh has the veterans chance though with the edge in wrestling and BJJ. Double D has the advantage in the stand up to go with his 13 wins by TKO/KO.

Sting "Demolition Man" Steiner (22-12) vs. John "The Nightmare" McClane (22-10-2). Steiner has won 3 of 4 since coming to Wang's including 2 FOTN awards against Tee Bone. McClane is making his second appearance in the org after a successful debut against Dace Killian. Both fighters a firmly atop the ranking and would be in line for a shot against Champion Nick Fury with a win in this one.Steiner has slight advantages in wrestling and BJJ.Both fighters are even in boxing with McClane have the edge in Muay Thai.

Co-Main Event

Manny "The Maniac" Machado (8-3) vs. Freddy "The Attack" Mak (10-5). The 135 division appears to be in flux with new talent under negotiation with the org and some younger fighters looking to step up. MAchado is one of those younger fighters. Machado has won 2 fights in a row and is taking a very important step up in fight competition against Mak. Mak is a former champion and is looking to reclimb that mountain as well to top contender status with his 3rd win in a row tonight. Machado has his base in some very solid boxing. Mak is well versed in Muay Thai, wrestling and BJJ.

Main Event

265+ Title

Wade "The Fire" Stoker (12-6) vs. Short Fuse (11-1). Stoker won his debut fight in Wang's via TKO to earn his title shot tonight against Short Fuse. Fuse is defending for the first time after a very convincing TKO of his own against former champ Snow Crash. Both fighters are knock out artists with 21 knock out between them. On paper, Stoker has the superior stand up skills. Fuse is close thought and has the advantage of being the champion. This title fight could go either way.

As usual, tonight's fight card is being brought to you by our org merchandise partner, Charlie Wang's Nutrition and our bookmaker, Charlie Wang's Betting Parlor and Geisha House.

"Little Fury" Daley Bornstein (21-15) vs. "Pacman" Richie O Grady (13-6) Bornstein was on a 2 fight win streak before coming up against top contender Stoker in his last fight. After that loss, he's looking to rebound with a win against O Grady. O Grady is making his debut in Wang's and will be looking to make it a successful one. Bornstein has a dominant advantage in boxing with his 17 wins by TKO/KO. O Grady has the edge in Muay Thai, wrestling and BJJ.

Paul "The Bear" Bearinstein (8-5) vs. Adam "The Legend" Murth (17-17) Bearinstein is coming into this fight on a 2 match losing streak. Murth is coming in having lost 4 fights in a row.Bearinstein has slight advantages in boxing, Muay Thai and wrestling. Murth counters with the edge in BJJ.

"The Amish Assassin" Hezekiah Stoltfus (22-14) vs. Frank Castle (24-15) Stoltfus won his last fight after losing to top fighter YB Sol. Castle is coming off a rematch loss to Quinton Lind. Both fighters come into the bout evenly matched in skills except Muay Thai, where Castle has the advantage.

Bradley Nowell (18-6) vs. Mieczyslaw " No-Nickname" Grabowski (17-8-1) Nowell enters on a 2 fight losing streak started with a loss to our 265 champ, Brian King. He'll be looking to rebound against Grabowski, who is making his Wang's debut tonight. Grabowski is coming over from RisingStar MMA. Nowell has the edge in Muay Thai to Grabowski's edge in boxing. Both fighters are even on the ground.

Co-Main Event

Lucretia "My" Reflection (14-8) vs. Somore "Tasty" Fudge (10-7) Reflection has won 3 of his 4 fights since joining Wang's and is on a 2 fight win streak. Fudge is on a 2 fight losing streak after starting off on fire by winning his first 3 fights in the open weight grand prix tournament. The fighters appear evenly matched in Muay Thai and BJJ. Fudge appears to have a slight edge in boxing and wrestling. Both fights have the majority of their wins by TKO/KO so its looks to be an all or nothing bout.

Main Event

Michael "The scythe" Gromowski (12-8) vs. "Catty" Carl Cathay (12-1) Gromowski is entering with a win in his last fight. Cathy is in a 4 fight win streak and is the #1 contender for the title. Despite their rankings, Gromowski has the advantage in all the skills of the fight. Gromowski's skills haven't translated to wins in his career though.
