ETC3

In the first matchup of the evening we have Jack Lokren who has an exceptional ground game against Lamar Stevenson who is a Muay thai fighter with solid BJJ skills. Lokren will be looking to keep this fight off the feet as he has a distinct wrestling advantage and should be able to inflict damage on the ground. While Stevenson will want to keep the fight standing where he can inflict his far superior striking attacks, however if it does go to the ground he does possess a blue belt.

These are two fighters currently going in opposite directions, with Stevenson winning his debut via unanimous decision. Lokren has not been as successful, losing his first two bouts and desperately seeking that elusive first victory.

In the end, this fight will come down to whether it stays standing or goes to the ground. If I was a betting man, my money would be on Stevenson getting his first ever TKO victory.

Fight #2:

That moves us onto our 2nd bout of the night! In the 170 lb division we have Nate Diaz vs Blood Seeker Strygwyr Ghyl. Diaz is a boxer showcasing good hands to go with decent wrestling and a blue belt in BJJ. Ghyl is a great boxer who has the ability to throw in solid kicks when needed, he is susceptible to a strong ground game as he is only a white belt in BJJ.

A factor that is no doubt going to come into play here is the out-of-this-world height, Ghyl standing at 225 CM is a skyscraper! Diaz is 188 CM himself, however there is a 37 CM height difference which will definitely effect how this fight plays out.

Diaz has strong boxing but given the amazing height differential as well as Ghyl having superior skills, one has to imagine he will want this on the canvas as often as possible to take advantage of Ghyl's weak BJJ as well as his lanky limbs.

In order for Blood Seeker to win this fight, he will need to outbox Diaz and use his tremendous reach advantage to keep Diaz on the outside.

Diaz is still looking for that first win but he's got a stiff challenge on his hand with Blood Seeker, Blood Seeker is looking to avoid his 2nd straight submission loss.

Fight #3:

Onto our 3rd fight of the evening: In the 170 lb division it will be Manny Ribera vs Kimbo "The Black Soldier" Slice. Ribera has tremendous hands and a solid ground game which includes a Blue belt in BJJ. Slice is more well rounded, featuring a good striking attack of mostly Boxing mixed in with a bit Muay Thai. Slice has an improving wrestling arsenal matched up with a Blue belt in BJJ.

Ribera is coming into his first ever MMA Tycoon bout! It will be interesting to see how he deploys his tactics, whether he will be an aggressor or let the fight come to him.

Ribera has the advantage in boxing as well as reach, will he use it effectively? Slice has shown to be determined to push through difficult parts of his previous fight, showing a big heart and good resilience.

In order for Slice to win this battle, he will need to mix up his strikes and takedowns to earn the decision. Will he try and win the points or trade shots with the more talented but untested Ribera?

This oughta be a good one for the fans! Lets get it on!

Fight #4:

What everyone has been waiting for, the main event!

In the 205 lb division we have Fabio "Nightmare" Araujo vs Jericho Ryan.

This fight features Araujo who is a ground fighter featuring a sold wrestling base with excellent BJJ, holding a purple belt. He is going into the ring with Ryan who is a well rounded fighter, who is adept in every aspect of the game.

Aruajo is coming off a submission victory that took him less than one minute to achieve, very impressive! Ryan is also coming off a very impressive performance, earning a submission victory via a nasty kneebar!

Araujo undoubtedly is going to give it his best to take this to the ground, where he does his dirty work. On the contrary, Ryan will want to keep this standing where he holds the advantage and Aruajo has shown the tendency to cut. Ryan's determination in stuffing takedowns and staying away from Aruajo's amazing jiu jitsu skills will be the most important aspect of the fight for him. Aruajo needs to avoid taking damage and opening up a cut while getting this fight to the ground.

It feels like there will be a finish in this fight, may the best man win!

Lungs Like Gallows

Tonight’s events are going to be amazing. In our first fight of the night, we have Alex Rodriguez v Jose Aldo

Almost mirrors of each other. This fight will be interesting. Both have great hands and are good off their back. It comes down to who controls the fights on the cards really. Alex Has the edge in the grappling but Aldo is no joke off his back as well. I see this fight going down to the hair

Also on the card is

Shaka Zulu V.S Nick Diaz

In this one we have a talented young man in Zulu, who dispite being a BJJ blue belt and muay thai practitioner, has yet to win in his pro career, going 0-2. But he faces a very stiff test in Nick Diaz. Amassing six straight wins, mostly by decision, he’ll be looking to keep his streak alive against the crafty Zulu with a sharp, active stand up game and solid takedown defense. This could very well turn into a barn burner!

In the next fight we have

Danny Yang V.S. Chris Oleson

With The Tiger’s sick hands and promising BJJ background. I see a short night for the well rounded grappler Oleson. Twisted Halo seems to be decently well rounded, but his Forte is definitely his grappling skills. He possesses enough wrestling to get you in a dog fight and a sick sub game, but his hands seem to lack for this match up. Danny Yangs monstrously powerful hands, and somewhat higher level Jiu jitsu in this match up, may prove to be the catalyst on the cards if they are to reach them. I wouldn’t miss this one!

Next in the cage we have

Lawson Sharp V.S Tyson Blaze

I see this being a quick match up ladies and gentlemen. Lawson Sharp has to get the fight down to the floor offensively, or it could be a short night. Blaze’s good hands, and well balanced skills, coupled with his sensational wrestling, prove tough for any opponent

Also on the card

El Steveo V.S. Ryu Takashi

I see this being a fight decided by who wins the stand up. Both are blue belt BJJ practioners and are almost identical wrestlers. Whoever can assert there standup more effectively and win the scrambles will be using the best game plan. I wouldn’t want to miss a minute of this one.

Coming up is

Manny Ribera V.S. Chris Langham for the ATF 170 title

Manny Ribera comes into this looking to use his great hands and slick BJJ skills to keep his win streak going to five. Looking to stop that is the scrappy Langham. Well rounded and better on the floor, hell be looking for a short night with an early sub. I could see this going to decision. But I may have to eat my words there.

Next is

Tom Hagen V.S. Junko Hatoru

Tom Hagan Has enjoyed a 5-0 streak thanks mostly to his slick grappling game, but Junko looks to stop that with an impressive stand up, backed by good BJJ. And with that skill set he feels safe to really and bang. Just an amazingly entertaining fighter. A really interesting matchup. Hatoru is a Japanese wrestler with sick grappling abilities and evenly matched standup while Tom Hagen is strictly a talented grappler. He can dominate the wrestling game and catch you from the top or bottom with subs. On the floor in this matchup he holds a brown belt above his opponents purple. Its time for him to really prove his grappling worth in this one.

In the Co-Main Event the light heavyweight Championship will be on the line as we have

Santiago Alvares V.S. Arron Gillespie

We have a grappling ace versus a BJJ box n brawler. In order to survive against Arron “The Monster” Gillespie’s absolutely ruthless grappling, Santiago’s going to need to use his well roundedness and ability to stay on the feet to dictate the fight. He has a slick standup skill set with both Muay Thai and boxing being proficient. I could see him out moving and out pointing the sticky grappler. If not The Monster could very well out wrestle and sumbit the young gun. I wouldn’t want to miss this!

In The Main Event, an epic 5 rounder for the title at 185

Gaspar Saroa V.S. Mu Cephei

Gaspar is a world class grappler. No doubts about it. Mu is a great grappler as well. Not to put Mu down but ‘The Weight’s” amazing wrestling ability and brown belt level BJJ I see as way too much for the guy to last under. I see Mu needing to use a slick clinch work an outside boxing to have a chance at winning this. Its really gonna be a war. These men matchup very oddly Mu Cephei needs to stick to a good game plan to even have a chance with someone as lethal as he is on the floor. Otherwise expect a slick sub victory for the Brazilian. Mu may out point him. But engaging in a ground war I see as too deep of waters for him.

This event is truly stacked from top to bottom. So many grappling aces and skilled kick boxer. I could see a lot of finishes. Until Next Time at from Ryan Eman

sorry man, i dont speak english so well but im trying...feel fere to "adapt" some language error

1)Q: How did you get into MMA?

Thats something that i saw in the past...Royce Gracie is the reason that i drop in the mma world.

Now im a big exemple in China.

2)Q: Tell us about your upcoming fight with

Saroa is a great grappling fighter, he is very agressive on the ground and now he can ko!

he is undefeated but im very confident on my game and in my JJ skills, ill try to keep the belt in my room at any cost

3)Q: What makes you a tough opponent for somebody?

honestly...i really dont know...its all natural for me. Step in the cage and fight is that i choose to do in my life and i always try to do my best.

4)How do you feel going into Lungs Like Gallows ? Tell us a bit about your camp.

Lungs like Gallows have a big potential, i believe that was a smarter choice. im seeking for new challenges and LLG put a big one in my next fight. thats awesome.

My camp is now focused in training all disciplines, the mma world calls for a well rounded fighter . we have a great team and a big structure! and now we try to call some young fighters to train with us...and the kids are talented.

5)Let’s say you beat Gaspar Saroa in this next fight and that’s over with. You’ve accomplished so much in the middleweight division.

Are you ready to drop down or try another division?

beating Saroa and keep the belt is the main objective, but im seeing some challenge in the division and we all are still working for MW , but will be a pleasure to drop and maybe carry 2 belts. ill be the first to do it? will work for that! I know that i can adapt to 170 lbs and still make a good show for all my fans.

6)Any chance of a couple of quick predictions...?

Saroa vs. Cephei?

Cephei by armbar or RNC!

Alvares vs. Gillespie?

Gille by big hand in the face!

Ribera vs. Langham?

this one is really hard...ribera can finish anytime by KO and langham is more experienced and can get this one by decision...

Escape The Cage 11 04-05-2012

tonight we have another edition of Escape The Cage. Its fight night in Tokyo

Main Event: Ushio Obake vs. Shigeru Miyamoto

Obake is currently (2-0) and coming off a big win over Maxi Silva via KO( punch).Obake currently drop down to Lightweight. So he compete for a title shot at 155 Obake is a well rounded fighter and looking to keep the fight on his feet…Shigeru Miyamoto is (3-1) and fight out of Sydney. Its not know why Miyamoto left WEG .Miyamoto is looking to in prove his recorded to (4-1) with his dominating ground game and powerful striking.i see this fight going to the Australia he has great wrestling and Jiu Jitsu.

Co-Main Event: Justin Henderson vs. Krisu Leepen

Henderson (3-2) is looking to rebound from his lost to Raul Sanchaz. Henderson wants to keep this fight standing. Krisu Leepen (4-4) is on the downslide of his career losing his last 4fight. Both of these fighters are identical need a win at this point. Both of these guys are solid boxer and have no plans on taking this fight to the ground.

Lightweight: Felix Laniyan vs. Gilbert Melendez

Laniyan ( 2-1) Is making his Debut in ATTACK FIGHT LEAGUE there not much to say about Laniyan that he a brawer with big heart and in the other hand Melendez (5-2) has had a fast start to his career Starting off at (4-0) in the Welterweight divion since then he gone (1-2) now fighting at his natural weight class. Hoping to win gold in this new diverse weight class (lightweight) Melendez is always looking to please the crowed and stand and Bang.

Welterweight: Strygwyr Ghyl vs. Ryo Ishizaki

Strygwyr Ghyl (2-4) is a kick boxer who loves to punch his opponent into a pulp. He is looking to snap the three fight losing streak and win for a change. Ryo Ishizaki (3-2) is a wrestler with good submissions and a nasty takedown in his bag of tricks. I love to see how these guys impose their will, with one of them looking to in the feet and the other on the ground.

Light Heavyweight: Rocko Rod vs. Eddy Cordo

Rocko Rod (2-3) is a superb wrestler who can defend the submissions easily. Despite losing his last three fights he poses a big threat to Eddy Cordo (3-3) with his height and reach advantage. Eddy Cordo is a muay thai specialist with respectable wrestling. He posses one of the deadliest knee srikes in Attack Fight Leage history, knoking out Eak Measure with a vicious KO via Flying Knee.

Welterweight: Kick Ass vs. Nick Diaz

Kick Ass (1-3) has strong boxing and an iron chin, but since winning his first fight he went (0-3) and since then looking to have a win in his record. Nick Diaz (7-0) has wonderful boxing and he is a very accurate striker but does he have the knock out power. He won majority of his fights via decision and he needs to show us the power is he want to continue the win steak.

Light Heavyweight: Frank Mir vs. Jean Rubber

Frank Mir (4-4) is a boxer with a blue belt in bjj, He is looking to win by hitting you in the face or dominating in the ground. He has a good height advantage over Jean Rubber (3-2) and he will be looking to jab his way to a decision and possibly a knockout. Jean Rubber is strong boxer with good wrestling and if he can dictate the pace of the fight he will probably steal a win and get back on the winner circle.

Middleweight: Alex Rodriguez vs. Hurley Rodriguez

Alex Rodriguez (0-3) is a striker but he seems to get submitted all the time, I don’t see him winning the fight if he doesn’t improve his grappling defence and takedown defence. Hurley Rodriguez (7-3) is a well rounded fighter who can finish the fight anywhere it takes place, whether by knockout or submission he’ll take it!

Lightweight: Jason Frank vs. Daryl Palumbo

Jason Frank is making his mma debut, he has remarkable boxing game but can he defend the takedown and the submission. But his opponent Daryl Palumbo (1-0) is also trying to keep the fight on the feet so we can expect that this won’t go to the ground anytime soon.

Middleweight: Kim Hendi vs. Lamar Stevenson

The battle between the boxer and muay thai fighter is always intresting considering both of them are so evenly matched. Kim Hendi (2-3) is the boxer but he he doesn’t seem to have a knockout yet and I bet he will be looking for it all the time. Lamar Stevenson (2-3) is the muay thai fighter who loves to kick his opponents whether its a leg kick or body kick I guarantee you it will hurt.

hello

> How do you feel going into AFL Wolves at the Door? Tell us a bit about your camp.

Feeling great, thx man. My camp was fine, i prepared all i wanted to prepare for this title fight. I'm still a little bit frustrated he got his title shot before me, because i was above him in all ratings.

> What do you make of the matchup with Satoshi Ishii ?

This gonna be tough fight. I can promise to my fans - there will be blood a lot of blood

> Longer term, you have anything in particular you're keying in on right now?

I'm working to be more versatile fighter but that doesn't mean I will change my style.

> What do you think of (Down Dirty) calling out the winnier out ?

No problem at all. As a champ I must fight whoever my org owner will put in front of me.

> Finally, if you're going to call it, how do you think the Satoshi Ishii fight is going to go?

He will try to take me down, since his stand up skills aren't that good. Lets see if he manages to do it before I TKO him.

Ishii will do more than try to take you down lol

Hopefully Doe has more tricks up his sleeve than try to wall and stall and win by cut stoppage cuz that wont work this time around

Looking forward to the fight, gl

Wolves at the door

28 Feb 2014: Article by Carlos Castenada.

AFL Wolves At The Door

from

Attack Fight League

Two belts up for grabs and a mega-fight between Champion Satoshi Inoki Ishii and challenger John Islander Doe where Ishii defends his 265 lbs belt.

265 lbs Satoshi Ishii v John Doe

Ishii: 4-0-0 (W-L-D)~ Explosive Champion Inoki scored fight of the night at Wild Bob's Bar - The Island (750) where he claimed the title against Rudolf Castile by TKO (strikes) early this month.

Ishii is on a 4 win streak and still holds the Super Heavyweight belt. He faces the undefeated contender John Island Doe. Ishii is a solid wrestler with respectable MT. His opponent is proficient at MT so if it comes down to technique...Ishi will certainly have a fight on his hands tonight. Ishii edges in wrestling so his clinch could be just that bit more effective....I think Ishii might be thinking about slamming Does face into to mat.

John Doe: 5-0-0(W-L-D)~ Got the call from Dana White and was ready for the title fight in 3 weeks. What a badman!! Taking a leaf out of Urijah Fabers book, possibly. This guy does literally retire fighters. Strong Wrestler with MT. 5 wins- no losses and won fight f

the night in both his last 2 fights were both fights were stopped due to cuts. Both his last opponents ended up with doctors intervention. Paramedics were called in there was some on the spot surgery done which resulted in a helicopter transport. Doe will, possibly be hoping to un-innocuously put Inoki into a body bag.

155 lbs Antonio Paulo v Crazy Kure Lightweight

The winner of this fight claims the belt.

Paulo: 3-0-0 (W-L-D)~Claim. Muay Thai wrestler. Background: Karate. Remind me of Hendrix, cos he just loves to fight. Paulo always has smile coming into the cage. I dont know about his KO power, but he certainly has a granite chin. 3 fight win streak with no losses.

Kure: 3-1-0 (W-L-D)~ BJJ/Boxer with a good chin. Only lost against Hyan Gracie by TKO. Bookies will give decent odds on Kure finishing by submission. This guy has style and has finished each of his wins with a different submission. Kure will chew Paulo up if it goes to the mat, but with practically zero wrestling I expect he will have to take some punishment to get close enough to do his thing. I dunno, is he gonna keep trying to pullguard until he gets it???Transitioning from the clinch to pullguard could be like walking through a kill-zone into Paulos deadly MT clinch

170 lbs Sam Ponjev v Andrew Swanson welterweights

Another unclaimed belt waiting for the taking. Interesting skill sets these two. Paulo is fond of the RNC and has scored 2 of his 5 fights that way. Now theres no doubt he willl not be taking Swanson down in a hurry cos as confident as he may be at attempting wild shit (as when he pulled off a brilliant move against an evenly matched BJJ guy in his first fight) he faces a confident BJJ purple belt with a great ground game.

Ponjev: 5-0-0 (W-L-D)~Intelligent. Ponjev has slightly better MT but outranks his opponent in wrestling by a long way.....lets see if he will be trying to clinch or has he been training in kicks and can keep Swanson at range. I dont know they look fairly evenly matched standing. We might see some knees and we might see some elbows from the clinch. Personally Im looking forward to this fight. The striking may not be the highest level, but the tactics of each fighter will be the paramount.

Swanson: 3-1-0 (W-L-D)~ From a mud farm in China is Quick Fighter Specialist. Also intelligent. Swanson is going to be looking to do one thing and one thing only and thats smash Ponjevs head into the mat. Ponjev will not RNC this guy. Swanson has a dash of boxing under his belt, but no, this fight will be going one way and thats his as far as hes concerned and Im afraid to say I agree. Is Ponjev is stupid enough to take him to the ground. Swansons wrestling is weak so he will have to pull out some slick shit with his sliders. Swanson will surely take the belt if he can take Ponjev to the ground.

205 lbs Garen Crownguard v Lincoln Six Echo

Crownguard: 2-0-0 (W-L-D)~ Loves his knees bro. MT/wrestler. This guy looks good. No losses in 2 fights. Looks like a sprawl and brawl MT guy to me. If he has GnP he will be bringing that into his game. I foresee lots of knees and kicks.

Echo: 2-0-0 (W-L-D)~ Also 2 fights-no losses. Striker with solid boxing background. Comin out of The States and rumour has it comes from a strictly striking camp. Good striking but doesnt have the technique and experience of his opponent when it comes to the Muay Thai. Echo will be darting in and out and trying to pull him apart, while avoid takedowns. His opponent is also a white belt at BJJ, so maybe facelocking is out of the question.

205 lbs Mach II v Budi Mulia

Mach II:1-0-0 (W-L-D)~German Borg. Wild Borg man. This guy is a machine. His manager looks like he knows what hes doing, but words out that he smokes round the back in between BJJ sessions. I dunno, Joe Rogan said having a smoke before Jui-Jitsu is a pretty good idea.

Mulia: 2-0-0 (W-L-D)~ low moral. not very popular guy. KO power. One win by tko and one by submission.

205 lbs Ragnar Lodbrok v Draconis Gherobane

Lodrok: 2-1-0 (W-L-D)~ The Viking....is this an invasion? Wrestler/boxer with a blue belt in BJJ. Straight over from Scandinavia. Granite chin. Pure bred.

Gherobane: 3-1-0 (W-L-D)~ Boxer/wrestler with solid chin. Lets hope he aint on the Afghani kush tonight.
