Anyone else is sick of hearing

Here is the one that i do remember labeling as the best ever at the time. Still holds up pretty good. But at this point it is really impossible to choose. There have been many great events in MMA history.

UFC 31

I'd put 31 up against pretty much any UFC event; the main event alone was possibly the best fight in UFC history (certainly the best heavyweight fight in UFC history, probably the best in general), the Almeida/Lindland fight kinda sucked but every other fight on the card was at least 5/10 in terms of entertainment quality and most were more like 7-8 - Carter/Serra was a fucking awesome fight too.

On the note of forgotten but good events: UFC 36 was pretty damn good. Even if post-car crash Mach was just not a challenge for Hughes.

As for Rogan, I do get tired of him sometimes, but I also appreciate him.

It gets annoying when every single time someone clamps on a guillotine he starts screaming "Omg thats tight!!! So and so is in big trouble!!! Oh he's out" Meanwhile the whole time im watching im thinking thats not tight i see a ton of room, haha.

But one thing about him is I think he is really good for the sport. I agree with Jacky that the "best ever" stuff gets a little old especially for the Boetsch Okami fight, BUT the other day I heard them play that clip on the radio and it was pretty damn cool hearing it without the video. I was actually getting pumped and I already saw it, so I guess for the casual fan that would be a really good job.

I think one thing we have to remember is that the hardcore mma fan like us is the minority of those watching, so he has his place and is good for the sport imo.

maybe he would be better and more thoughtful and not as repetitive if he would do mma-commentary exclusively instead of also working standup-comedy and doing podcasts etc. last year he also did fear factor and before that a movie. like wtf is that ... DONT MORPH EVERY HOBBY YOU HAVE INTO A JOB ... greedy megalomaniac bastard ^^

I think Frank Mir does a great job but he tends to nut ride even more than Rogan. He has a fettish for all the small guys. reminds me of Fat Bastard from Austin Powers. Instead he tells the midgets to get in his pants. When Faber, Curran, or anyone like that fights he is hard to listen to. But most of the time he does a good job just like Rogan. But all annoucers will stil fill us full of shit to promote every fighters. That wont ever change.

I can't really put my finger on it but I even like Goldberg more than Anik. I guess I'm just used to Goldberg being a clueless retard, but having a new clueless retard rubs me the wrong way.

I couldn't agree more. I can't stand Anik. At least Goldberg sounds excited even if all he does is repeat the same 6 or 7 phrases plus whatever Rogan just said. Anik doesn't even do that.

Cracked me up

I've always been a massive fan of Joe Rogan, probably to the point that I'm biased and don't realise how much he overhypes things at times, but in all honesty even I've noticed recently he seems to be going a little too over the top. It is of course his job to hype fighters up which I understand and I know it's largely because of how passionate he is as a fan that he gets a little carried away but I do think he could tone it back a bit and be a little more neutral about what's going on.

Having said that though it is a very difficult job and other than Bas, I'm not sure there is anyone I prefer.

However remember, without Joe Rogan, you wouldn't have the Joe Rogan drinking game, that's a life I don't want to be a part of.

Best commentators I'd say was the ones that did 1 of the DREAM events. Think it may have been Mezger, Kogan and Schiavello. Not sure. Mezger is a good commentator.

Lost all respect for Rogan these days. IMO he is just as annoying as talking advert Mike Goldberg. Also, any time Godlberg actually comments on the fight, he just says stuff that Rogan said about half an hour earlier!!! (maybe just a few minutes, not half an hour - u know what I mean) . Rogan always seems to pick a favourite in a fight and exaggerates any move they do, even if the other guy appears to be doing better if there was just no talking to listen to. Also, even when a crap UFC is coming up with meaningless fights he exaggerates the fighters when building them up. Rogan, as with Goldberg and Zelasnik re all just wee Dana handpuppets and he's as big a bullshitter as there ever was!!!

My main issue with Rogan is the same i had with some soccers commentator and that was a reason i stopped watching soccer.

As i followed soccer for a long time i have nothing at all against commentator that goes crazy and scream, in fact i really love it.

For the little story we had a very cool soccer commentator, he was passionate ,chauviniste and had no fear to say what he thought.

When u listened him u feel like he's a normal cool dude in a bar except he speak well.So that dude didn't care about what's politically correct or not. When our national team or a french team was losing some times his commentary was so dishonest and ironical (ill-faith is it a good word?),like "I'm not surprised with this referee decision, he's italian after all and god knows how italian don't like us" or, "how is it possible they run so fast, i wonder what they eat today" (saying like if he they was on juice).

His commentary was great cause u felt like he was a normal dude just saying what he thought on TV.

Some times he went too far and when he get fired they put a shitty comentator, this guy is the complete opposite he always try to stay "correct" on TV and the worst thing is when we are losing this dumb-ass suck the opponent team like any porn-starn has never sucked.

I know some of my friend turn the sound off while watching the TV cause this guy is horible.

All this story to say my main issue with Roegan is sometimes i feel like he's a merchant trying to sell you the new useless blender.

I'm ok when he say it before the fight to hype the fight, but how he keep going even during the fight, not only it makes me pissed about him but sometimes i'm pissed against the fighter.

Like Edgar i begin to hate because of all the BS Roegan said about him.

He really should stop to say all these BS asked by the UFC.

lmfao.

Remind an other soccer comentator i liked, that guy was going crazy and screamed in every matchs, the guy basically just describe every actions objectively but scream and speak with such a voice that you can feel Stephan Bonnar is fighting like Anderson Silva.

The only difference with Roegan is:he don't pump you saying stupid stuff like "this is the best fight..." or "he's in the best shape of his life",he pump you only with his voice modulation.

First of all i almost never pay attention to the announcers. I have been watching MMA and UFC so long i learned to not listen long ago. For years the announcers main job was to educated noobs and not to entertain the hardcore fans. So you had a lot of teaching of the moves that hardcore guys already knew. They dont do that so much anymore but i still have no need to listen to them. They are background noise to me. Currently they are only there for two reasons. A. Be a mouth piece for the UFC and spread propaganda(nothing wrong with that we al want the UFC to be successful). B. Gie all the fans who admire fighters over the sport its self a reason to nutride a fighter even more. I have traveled hours to minor league Orgs to watch guys fights i never heard of. I was Amatuer fights on TV all the time. I just love fights. I respect fighters but they will come and go. I dont hero worship them like some do. But MMA broadcasts have become a ass kiss fest. Its not the UFC or Rogans fault. Its what most of the public wants. So every fighter can do no wrong and every fighter is better than they was last time. Over the last 7 years fans started caring more about the fighters than the sport so they have to make those guys into super heros.

The other things like Rogans repetitiveness is dont think is much o9f an issue for him. Those two have done over 140 UFC events and almost 2000 fights. You are going to have words and phrases you fall back on. Especially when you shoot from the hip and play it by ear as the team does in the UFC. It could be worse. They could be like Mauro Renallo who scripts EVERYTHING down to the stupidest cliche's. everything about that guy is fake. He has no real passion for the sport and tries to act like Jim Ross from WWE when he tries to over emphasize every single moment. Something not done in any other sport. Only Pro Wrestling. He is a smart guy who is very professional. But his style is not made for real sports. He cut his teeth in Pro Wrestling and that style doesnt work in real sports.

Mauro is the worst. I don't understand how they allowed him to keep his job. I watched a few Pride fights recently and he was nowhere near as bad back then. He came to the US and suddenly he yells at everything no matter how stupid.

True lol. every time he talks it always reminds me of WWE when the Undertaker choke slams someone. And the Announcer yells "He got slammed straight to HELL!!!". Thats how Mauro acts the entire fight.

Anyone who doesnt know what we mean just needs to watch this clip of the Rousey fight. He is like listening to a horse race.

Whats up with his shaved head? He thinks he is Lex Luthor. HAHAHA At least he looked professional in Pride.
