Scandinavians speak really good English

I'm American but have lived in various parts of Europe for nearly 20 years and I think it's the dubbing or subtitling of American / British movies and TV decision that makes the biggest difference.

Germany and Holland have very similar English requirements, yet the Dutch speak it much better. The Germans dub, the Dutch subtitle. Same goes for most, if not all of Scandinavia. It also makes a big difference in the accent, because they hear it from native speakers, not only from a professor who has a bad accent too.

I currently live in Romania, and the English is very high compared to other former communist nations. It's in large part due to using subtitles.
