UNFC - MW 2 Reznick vs Lynch Review

Great event, we had two title fights and they delivered. Here is what happened.

185 lbs

Mark Apostol vs Baron Suzaski

Bad gameplan for Apostol, He decided to try to clinch, but Suzaski did better in that department. Then as previously shown, Apostol could not defend against submission, as Suzaski pulled guard and worked right away on an armbar. Great win by Suzaski.

185 lbs

The Flash vs Matti Veijamo

Veijamo was too much for The Flash standing up. From the clinch to the standup part, Flash simply never could get his hands on Veijamo. Flash tried in the second round to turn it around with his wrestling, but could not do enough to get the win. Great wn by Veijamo.

Result : Veijamo by decision

265 lbs

Lias Kota vs Lou Wallace

As expected, Kota showed his skills on the floor. Very aggressive with his submissions, he managed to capitalize on a failed submission attempt to get on top, and quickly used his GnP to advance and eventually secure his win. Great win by Kota.

Result : Kota by submission at 4:47 of Round 1

155 lbs

Durlag Trollkiller vs Orange Joe

Joe showed why he is on another level. After defending Trollkiller's attacks, he went to work on the ground with constant GnP. Trollkiller had no answer and the ref had to stop the fight. Great win by Orange Joe.

170 lbs

Kuarangton Duankorai vs Okkuke Jiizu Okunaba

Okunaba dominated this fight everywhere. Then decided he didn't want to continue this fight, throwing a big strike to KO and end the fight.

Result : Okunaba by KO at 0:05 of Round 2

265 lbs

Jierdan Firkagg vs Rudolf Reindeer

Firkagg is one hard-headed guy. Reindeer clocked him so many times during this fight, but Firkagg never stopped trying. He had Reindeer in some trouble with multiple sub attempts, but never was able to get it. Reindeer just kept throwing leather, opening a cut and making it worse and worse as the fight kept going. After a huge knockdown, the ref had to stop the fight as the cut was so nasty. Still a great win by Reindeer!

Result : Reindeer by TKO (Cut) at 2:30 of Round 3

265 lbs

Yatamatomo Horozaki vs El Ka Bong

Bong just had a roadblock in Horozaki, who showed his standup was no match for Bong. Big win for Horozaki!

Result : Horozaki by KO at 1:14 of Round 1

170 lb Fight

Ellen Littlejohn Wilson Greenbaum Hagler vs Silvan Maxiq

Well Maxiq did not wanted to waste time. A huge flurry of punches forced the ref to stop it in 9 seconds! great win by Maxiq!

Result : Maxiq by KO at 0:09 of Round 1

145 lb Title Fight

Jeffrey Miller vs Ferdinand Cortes

What a great fight! Miller was getting the better of the standup with his kicks, but Cortes was really looking to clinch and get his dirty boxing going. He did, and when he did Miller had no answer, got rocked and Cortes just kept going until the ref stopped it. Good fight and great win for Miller, the 145 lbs king!

Result : Cortes by TKO at 4:55 of Round 1

205 lbs Title Fight

Trevor Reznick vs Akeel Lynch

That was such a close fight! Akeel Lynch with that win at 48-47, and plenty of action everywhere. Lynch's takedowns and boxing were the main things that made him win, while Reznick's clinch, knees and kicks really scored as well! Congrats to our champion, Akeel Lynch!

Result : Lynch by decision

UNFC 11 - Review

Two champions had to defend their belt. Did they? Scroll down to see!

170 lbs

Aiden August vs Nick Diaz

Great MMA debut for Diaz, he was not hyped for nothing! August was exchanging with Diaz and saw an opening for a takedown and took it. Diaz was ready and very quickly went into triangle mode, and the second attempt worked very nicely! Great sub by Diaz!

Result : Diaz by submission at 1:56 of Round 1

170 lbs

Ivan Buflienko vs Josh Levan

Buflienko's dirty boxing was too much for Levan. After a grulling first round, Levan could not defend and that huge uppercut finished the fight quickly.

Result : Buflienko by KO at 0:05 of Round 2

145 lbs

Grayson Crakehall vs TwoBrooks OneLove

Well this wasn't the most exciting fight, as two wrestlers basically wanted to know who could stay on top the longest without being stood up. Onelove was supposed to have the advantage standing up, but the fight simply didn't take place long enough there for him to show it.

Result : Crakehall by unanimous decision

155 lbs

Viktor Georlev vs Joe Silva

Silva came prepared for this fight, going for the early GnP and letting Georlev try his submissions on him. In the second, he turned it up into that clinch and standup and rocked him badly. That third roun was a formality, as he just slammed his opponent down and finished it with a storm of punches. Great finish by Silva!

265 lbs

Roy Li-Taylor vs Bruce Sun Tzu

This fight did not disappoint! Sun Tzu was all over Li-Taylor with his kicks, but once that clinch went into full gear, Sun Tzu had nowhere to hide. Punches in bunches, and those uppercuts just knocked Sun Tzu out cold!! Great win by Li-Taylor!

Result : Li-Taylor by KO at 3:55 of Round 1!

265 lbs

Onni Shinigami vs Toyoki Kawamura

Well Kawamura wanted to get back in the game, and he did in spectacular fashion. A huge headkick ended the fight after 5 seconds! Fastest KO ever? Maybe not, but has to be close!

Result : Kawamura by KO at 0:05 of Round 1

155 lbs

Regnhildur Haraldsson vs Thomas Prince

A very technical fight, where Haraldsson showed his good standup and takedown ability. Not the most exciting fight, but still Haraldsson got the W!

Result : Haraldsson by decision

265 lbs

Ernie Miller vs Nick Gregoire

Gregoire needs to work his cardio, because catching your breath in the first 30 seconds of the fight is not a good sign! Miller stuffed all the takedowns and connected with huge punches and Gregoire was out cold! Great win!

Result : Miller by KO at 0:37 of Round 1

170 lb Title Fight

Shintaro Nomo vs Andy Carroll

Carroll meant business, as he kept landing those good shots standing. However, Nomo is champion for a reason. He can really fight anywhere, as he saw an opportunity to take Carroll down, and worked right away for submissions. In the end, a beautiful kimura for Nomo, who remains champion!

Result : Nomo by submission at 4:49 of Round 1

155 lb Title Fight

Hector Camacho vs Tournament Winner

This title fight was fought in the clinch, but the ending was a huge head kick followed by more punches! A very technical and grulling clinch fight for the first two rounds, but Camacho in the 3rd used his kicks even more and started landing too much for Winner's health. Camacho remains champ! Great work!

Result : Camacho by TKO at 4:55 of Round 3

UNFC 12 - Preview

155 lbs

Thomas Malloy vs Matheusz Diaz

This is most likely going to be a grappling fight, and I see Malloy taking this. He has not been able to finish his submissions lately, but I think this one could be the right one. Diaz however could very well be slick enough to avoid the subs and do his own.

155 lbs

Hans Donnerwetter vs Tad Gladwin

Donnerwetter has some momemtum behind him, which two vicious KO. He is however a skilled wrestler in Gladwin, who is likely to try to take this the ground. An interesting fight ahead.

185 lbs

Davian Hawklight vs Benny Smith

Smith certainly lives from fight to fight. He owes big money, and probably will be motivated to win again. However, Hawklight is anything but a pushover. His striking is very dangerous, so this certainly will be a great fight.

170 lbs

Ivan Buflienko vs Aiden August

Ivan is starting to pick up momentum, and will be facing August, who wants to bounce back from his submission loss. This fight I predict is not going the distance

185 lbs

Rolf Hauor vs William Johnson

William Johnson wants to do the only thing he knows : takedown, standup, rinse, repeat, get the decision. He is facing heavy hitter Hauor, a 3-0 fighter who likes to KO people. Let's see if the takedowns can be stopped.

185 lbs

Shun Masaru vs Heishiro Mitsurugi

Mitsurugi wants to bounce back after failing to capture the title. He will have to watch out for those submissions, as Masaru has shown he can pull guard and get submissions quickly.

170 lbs

Nursultan Nasarbajew vs Adrian McMullen

McMullen is the heavier guy, just came back from a title shot, and probably wants another crack at it. Nasarbajew would like to get that win under his belt, but he will need to get this fight down and quick, or will he? Both fighters are BJJ Brown Belt, so can't wait to see who catches who.

205 lb

Nikolay Burdyalov vs Mario Karlo

A very interesting fight ahead. Two very good fighters will collide, Burdyalov being the superior striker while Karlo is a steamrolling machine on the ground. I think Karlo will win against the newcomer to UNFC but I could be wrong, this is a very close fight!

265 lbs

Alex Molefe vs Roy Li-Taylor

Two very good fighters, but only one winner will emerge. Molefe is a great wrestler fighter at 4-1, meeting Hard hitting Li-Taylor. Molefe might be tempted to test Li-Taylor's submission defense game, as he has been losing lately to those..

266 lb Title Fight

Meyer Lanksy vs Frank Nicolosi

Lanksy has been hard to beat. "The Jew" has it all and is not afraid to fight anywhere. Challenging his belt is Nicolosi, who I feel is being fed to the lion. Don't get me wrong, he is an excellent fighter. Lanksy is simply that great and I see him keeping his belt.

Want to find out if I'm right? Tune in Saturday!

UNFC 12 - Review

155 lbs

Thomas Malloy vs Matheusz Diaz

As predicted, this grappling fight went to Malloy, who went for a nice submission early in the fight. Great win!

Result : Malloy by submission at 1:39 of Round 1

155 lbs

Hans Donnerwetter vs Tad Gladwin

A good fight, but in the end the wrestler got the nod from the judges. Donnerwetter was able to land good strikes on Gladwin, but Donnerwetter could not stop the takedowns and Gladwin was very hard to move around. His superior wrestling really showed but Donnerwetter tried his best to challenge him.

Result : Gladwin by decision

185 lbs

Davian Hawklight vs Benny Smith

Hawklight was dominant. Despite Smith attempt to go for the kill, Hawklight persisted and his kicks and clinch game were too much for Smith.

Result : Hawklight by TKO at 2:55 of Round 2

170 lbs

Ivan Buflienko vs Aiden August

August was on fire. Standing up or on the ground, he really displayed his skills everywhere! After clipping his opponent multiple times, he decided to go to the ground, mount and rain down punches. Great win!

Result : August by submission (strikes) at 3:55 of Round 1

185 lbs

Rolf Hauor vs William Johnson

Hauor was ready for Johnson, as he sprawled and brawled effectively. Only 1 minute was needed, and a big KO followed! Big win for Hauor!

Result : Hauor by KO at 1:10 of Round 1

185 lbs

Shun Masaru vs Heishiro Mitsurugi

Masaru just got KOed badly, as Mitsurugi showed his kick game is out of this world. A devastating head kick KO!

Result : Misurugi by KO at 1:42 of Round 2

170 lbs

Nursultan Nasarbajew vs Adrian McMullen

Well this was a landslide win. McMullen simply was too much, and it seems like Nasarbajew did not want to fight at all on the ground, not trying even one submission attempt. At least he managed not to tap..

Result : McMullen by decision

205 lb

Nikolay Burdyalov vs Mario Karlo

A much closer fight than I expected. Burdyalov was the better striker, but at the same time Karlo held his own. Karlo was able to use his wrestling in key moments and that's what made the difference. Burdyalov's defense was very good on the ground, forcing the ref to have a standup. A good fight, and Karlo got the win.

Result : Karlo by decision

265 lbs

Alex Molefe vs Roy Li-Taylor

Molefe is a hard headed guy. Li-Taylor threw his whole arsenal at him, managed to get Molefe rocked in the 3rd, but Molefe just kept going until the end. However, Li-Taylor had the big win, despite the fight finishing him being mounted! Good thing this wasn't a 5 round fight!

Result : Li-Taylor by decision

266 lb Title Fight

Meyer Lanksy vs Frank Nicolosi

Is Lanksy beatable? His clinch game was just too much, as he exhausted Nicolosi. At first, he resisted, but after a while, and getting leg kicked constantly, he could not take it anymore. Another big win for the current champion, Meyer Lanksy!

Result : Lanksy by TKO at 3:20 of Round 2

UNFC # 13 Kurse vs Eluard Review

Konnichiwa! This is Severo Del Bosque reporting from Hayashi’s Lounge in Tokyo, Japan, for UNFC #13 Kurse vs Eluard. Good night of fights with an epic title match from the Co-Main event. Let’s get to the fights.

170 lbs

Takashi “Bam Bam” Endo vs Wiggle “Pitbull” McGiggle

“Bam Bam” versus “Pitbull” was a good name for this Welterweight fight. The Japanese Native, Endo, was cut early and struggled to control the vicious offense of the Pilipino, McGiggle. “Pitbull” stayed true to his name though, and went out like a killer dog, “McGiggle …is trying to turn with the submission but Endo is really squeezing tight and eventually McGiggle passes out!

Winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle) 4:55 of Round 1, Takashi Endo!

205 lbs

Theon “The Traitor” Greyjoy vs Dong “Eastern Sun” Uk

Irish fighter, Greyjoy, and Korean fighter, Uk, were going at it early in a closely contested stand up battle. Greyjoy stopped Uk’s momentum by knocking him down with a head kick. Uk came back for a short while landing more strikes, but only to be knocked down again by a nice combination by Greyjoy. Uk was knocked down, rocked, and cut all at once. Greyjoy took advantage by finishing up with a nice combination. 100% Rated fight.

Winner by way of KO (Punches) 3:56 of Round 1, Theon Greyjoy!

265 lbs

VG “Valyok” Beloff vs “Chesty” Don Machete

We had the Cold War go down as Russian, Beloff, squared off against American, Machete. This was an ugly heavyweight fight. Beloff landed 6 consecutive uppercuts that very quickly put Machete to sleep, “that was some serious power there by Beloff”. This is why people watch heavyweight fights; knockout power in one punch, try six uppercuts.

Winner by way of KO (Punch) 0:52 of Round 1, VG Beloff!

205 lbs

Dark Vengeance vs Norg Loire

Vengeance represented his gym Beauty School by completely dominating Denmark’s, Loire, in the clinch. Vengeance brutally landed punches, knees, and elbows but finished the fight in a civilized manner, “Vengeance goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Vengeance because Loire was completely out of it”. Dark Vengeance is such a great guy; Beauty School will be proud.

Winner by way of TKO (Knee) 3:54 of Round 1, Dark Vengeance!

185 lbs

Fujiyama Akagano vs Matt Keelock

Japanese, Akagano showed that his purple belt was real against the white belt, Irish Fighter, Keelock. Once the fight hit the mat, the hometown boy got the mount and tapped out his opponent.

Winner by way of Submission (Armbar) 1:56 of Round 1, Fujiyama Akagono!

185 lbs

Raise Hell vs Osamu “Catch Master” Kido

The Japanese fighter, Kido took the American fighter down early. Hell was patient though and waited for a ref-standup which gave him the opportunity to raise hell on Kido in the standup game. Hell got the knockdown early in the second round, but following up on the ground wasn’t the best decision, as Kido attempted a few subs and seemed to regain his composure. After being lit up on the feet again, Kido got the takedown in the third, but it wasn’t enough, as Hell won every round in this middleweight fight.

Winner by Unanimous Decision, Raise Hell!

205 lbs

Buan Chaka vs Ruarc “The Meat Hook” Lacy

The Indian, Chaka, and Irish, “The Meat Hook”, took turns taking each other down and going submission crazy piling up 14 submission attempts in the first round. During the second round, Chaka changed his tactics completely. After “The Meat Hook” pulled guard, Chaka unleashed ground and pound like a madman, rocking and finishing Lacy in the process, “Check out the look on Chaka 's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter”.

Winner by way of TKO (Strikes) 4:58 of Round 2, Buan Chaka !

155 lbs

Delphino “The Slippery Dolphin” Atlantis vs Meguru Takayanagi

Former 155lb Champion, “The Slippery Dolphin” has been blazing through competition on his way back to the title and showed that he is a fighter on another level from the other Lightweight contenders. Atlantis implanted his game plan, kept the fight on the ground, and grinded out a nice decision win. Hopefully that date rape artist gets the title shot that he deserves.

Winner by Unanimous Decision, Delphino Atlantis!

185 lb Title Fight

Pete “The Fixer” Alexander vs Matt Veijamo

English Champion, Pete Alexander was fighting for survival in this epic title fight against Finland’s Matt Veijamo. Within the first minute, Veijamo knocked “The Fixer” down twice. The champion continued to get worked over by Veijamo’s superior striking skills until finally he was able to manage a takedown. The bloody and hurt champion gave everything he could to stay alive and managed a huge comeback submission victory.

Winner by way of Submission (Armbar) 4:55 of Round 1, Pete Alexander!

185 lbs

Martinez Eluard vs Abraham Kurse

The main event pitted two middleweights who may be next in line for the title. French Eluard started the fight off exactly how you would expect a Frenchman to fight, with a sissy slap, “The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Eluard cracks Kurse with an open hand slap”. The Canadian, Kurse was not happy and spent the rest of the fight taking Eluard down and looking to finish him. Eluard did a good job of both fending off submissions and dominating when the fight was on the feet. Post fight Kurse was not happy; stating, “After that ridiculous result in Tokyo, I'm officially done. I was going out with a win but those Japanese judges screwed everything up. I'm done”. I feel bad for Kurse, and I do believe it was a bit a robbery, considering 20 submission attempts only won him one round in the judge’s eyes.

Winner by Unanimous Decision, Martinez Eluard!

Thanks for tuning into UNFC #13. Next up is UNFC MW #4. Hit up the Smacktalk Thread and call out your next opponent. Thank you to all the fighters who participated in this event. Sayonara!

UNFC #15 Lanksy vs Byrne will be held at Hayashi's Lounge - Tokyo (2,000) and has 10 great fights on the card 5 undercard fights and 5 main card fights, this promises to be a great event.

1st undercard fight is

Bruce Sun Tzu (0-2-0) vs Zerachiel Halo (0-1-0) at 265lbs

Tzu has had two fights in the org already with two defeats via tko/ko, so will be hungry to turn that record around, and with his exceptional Muay Thai and super boxing he is not a fighter to be taken lightly, his only weakness seems to be his wrestling! His opponent Halo making his debut in the org, but coming off of a loss in his pro debut will want to get his record back on track, and with exceptional wrestling could he take advantage of Tzu weakness, there is only one thing for certain, one of These guys is turning his loosing ways around on this event!

2nd fight

Jose "Ice Warm" Vovchanchyn (1-2-0) vs Macho "Savage" Randy (1-0-0) at 205lbs

This is poised to be a great fight with both guys having wins via tko/ko, Vovchanchyn has had two fight in the org already but sadly not a victory, he will be looking to get back to winning ways, but first he's against a strong opponent in Randy, who is making his debut in the org but coming off a fantastic tko win in his pro debut will be looking to make it his second win in a row! Both guys have good stand up and both are purple belts this one will be interesting!

3rd fight

Viktor "The Beast" Georlev (2-3-0) vs Hans Donnerwetter (3-3-0) at 155lbs

Georlev is 1 win 2 losses in the org but seems to be a one trick pony with a purple belt, but not very good stand up, his two victories coming via way of submission, so there is no surprise to what his tactic will be, his opponent on the other hand Donnerwetter has 2 wins 1 loss in the org, but a very good skill range looks like he is an all round martial artist, with all 3 of his wins coming by way of tko/ko Donnerwetter will be looking to keep this fight standing!

4th fight

Thomas "The Turtle" Malloy (2-2-0) vs Tad Gladwin (2-1-0) at 155lbs

Malloy under a new manager has had a perfect 1 win no losses in the org, with his brown belt and his two wins coming via submission, you would think he will be looking to take this one to the mat, he also has respectable boxing which should not be overlooked, as his opponent Galdwin has lost via tko however Galdwin is 2 wins 1 loss in the org, with two gruelling wins via decision, he has remarkable wrestling and a purple belt but very weak stand up, so he will be looking to get the take the fight to the mat and control Malloy, but he will have to be careful of Malloy's dangerous submissions.

5th fight

Albert Hoffman (2-0-0) vs "Ruthless" Robbie Rage (2-1-0) at 170lbs

Hoffman with all round good skills but it's his brown belt that stands out, he finished both his opponents with submissions and if his opponent has one weakness it's only having a blue belt, but Rage has sensational boxing with superb Muay Thai, he will be looking to keep this one standing and get the tko victory, grappler vs striker this is going to be decided by who can control where the fight takes place!

Now over to the main card 1st fight

Lefteris Papaioanou (1-0-0) vs Simon Nilsson (6-1-0) at 205

Wow now I am looking forward to this one as it is not going to go the distance! Papaioanou has sensational boxing with his win coming via tko, his opponent Nilsson has wonderful boxing not only that he has 6 wins via tko/ko, this one is going to be a stand up war I'm guessing, but who's going to have the better chin or heavy hand to put the other away this is one to watch!

2nd fight on the main card

"Fearless" Frank Nicolosi (6-4-0) vs Borg Randall (8-5-0) at 265

Dam this this big boy fight had promise to be a great fight with Nicolosi having 5 tko/ko victories, his opponent Randall has 7 tko/ko's, so it's going to be a Great War between to huge guys right? Wrong! Randall's manager has not taken care of him letting his moral drop so low he's afraid of his own shadow! Nicolosi will take this one it's a shame but there is no doubt about that!

3rd fight main card

Nikolay "Burdik" Burdyalov (4-3-0) vs Mario Karlo (3-0-0) at 205

Burdyalov coming off of his loss in his first fight in the org, he will be looking to turn that around in this fight having really strong all around skills with also exceptional boxing, he can take the fight wherever he wants and should be strong in the positions, his opponent Karlo is undefeated with all of his fights in the org, but only has respectable all around skills with wonderful wrestling, he will defiantly be the underdog in this fight but being undefeated will have the confidence to finish his opponent!

Co-Main event of the evening

Carrera "Assasin" Villamora (4-2-0) vs Vidar Nord (5-2-0)

Villamora under a new manager has 2 wins in the org via tko/ko, that's all 4 wins via tko/ko and with wonderful boxing he will be looking to add to his victories and finish the fight via tko/ko, his opponent Nord has superb boxing and Muay Thai but that's not even his best skill, he has sensational wrestling his only weak point is his blue belt but Villamora also only has a blue belt himself, so Nord with sensational wrestling will more than likely dictate where the fight takes place!

And now for the main event of the evening we have a title fight in the heavyweight divisions it sees

"The Jew" Meyer Lansky (8-1-0) defending his title for the 3rd time and takes on "Gentle" Jack Byrne (6-1-0)

Lansky the champion with 7 tko/ko's victories to his name, has remarkable stand up and sensational wrestling with only one weakness, he has a blue belt, the challenger has 3 wins 1 loss in the org but with only good stand up, strong wrestling, and a purple belt his best plane would probably be take this one to the mat and try work for the submission where the champion is weakest, if he tries to stand and bang with the champion, It will probably be a quick night for the challenger as champion will add to his tko/ko victories!

That's all for now I hope you all enjoy the show and we look forward to seeing you there!

Review

UNFC #15 Lanksy vs Byrne

WOW WHAT A SHOW THIS WAS!

All the fights apart from one being finished either due tko or ko's via strikes, the fighters went hell for leather in front of a huge crowd of 1771.

1st fight

Zerachiel Halo (0-1-0) vs Bruce Sun Tzu (0-2-0) at 265lbs

This fight was always going to be a war with both guys wanting to get the taste for there first victory! Halo cut Tzu with a jab straight from the off, Tzu responded well by backing Halo against the cage the ref thought at stopping it but Halo circled in time, after a stand up battle Halo managed to drop Tzu not once, not twice, but three times in the first round, fair play to Tzu to get back up each time but he couldn't recover enough in the break, he got KO'D by a punch in 0:05 of the second round great first fight in the org and first win for Halo, unlucky for Tzu moves to 0-3-0 chin up bud!

Result: Halo wins via KO 0:05 of the second round

2nd fight

Macho "Savage" Randy (1-0-0) vs Jose "Ice Warm" Vovchanchyn (1-2-0) at 205lbs

Randy was going to take this into the clinch if it killed him, but Vovchanchyn was keeping it on the outside scoring with strikes, when Randy got the clinch it was easy to see why he tried so hard to get it, vicious elbow after elbow cutting his opponent up nicely, Vovchanchyn managed to break the clinch but wasted a lot of energy doing so, and when Randy got the clinch again that was the start of the end, more elbows that dropped Vovchanchyn and Randy pounced on him to finish with strikes.

Result: Randy wins via tko 4:12 of the first round.

3rd fight

Hans Donnerwetter (3-3-0) vs Viktor "The Beast" Georlev (2-3-0) at 155lbs

This one did not last that long, and no surprise Donnerwetter come out swinging with strikes, while his opponent Georlev tried to take the fight to the ground but with Donnerwetter having to good takedown defence, Donnerwetter kept it standing and dropped Georlev with an uppercut, then finished his opponent with strikes from mount!

Result: Donnerwetter wins via tko 2:57 of the first round

4th fight

Tad Gladwin (2-1-0) vs Thomas "The Turtle" Malloy (2-2-0) at 155lbs

Galdwin come straight out with a big takedown, from the Malloy was relentless with his submission attempts, one after the other after other but not getting anywhere, he tried 11 submissions in the first round that would have taken a lot out of him, same thing happened in the second round Galdwin with a nice takedown, Malloy with another 7 submission attempts but this time Galdwin lands some great GNP, he rocked Malloy and carried on hammering the punches in and finishing with the tko!

Result: Galdwin wins via tko 3:49 of the second round

5th fight

"Ruthless" Robbie Rage (2-1-0) vs Albert Hoffman (1-1-0) at 170lbs

Rage come out aggressively landing some nice strikes, Hoffman wanted to get the takedown but Rage was aware, Rage rocked Hoffman early but didn't finish instead he was landing nasty leg kicks with good strikes, Hoffman was persistent in trying to get the takedown he just couldn't get it, Rage landed some more crisp shots and Hoffman was out against the cage taken strikes he shouldn't be the ref was way to late stepping in for that finish.

6th fight

Lefteris Papaioanou (1-0-0) vs Simon Nilsson (6-1-0) at 205lbs

Both fighters with there debut fights in the org looking to leave a good impression, with both these guys with tko wins this fight was going to be a stand up battle, Papaioanou took this straight into the clinch with his opponent Nilsson trying to get out, but Papaioanou controlled well and landed beautiful strikes just softening Nilsson up, the second round was exactly the same Papaioanou absolutely dominating both round and wearing Nilsson down, the start of the 3rd round Nilsson is dropped 2 times before being finished via tko with strikes.

Result: Papaioanou wins via tko 3:07 in the 3rd round

7th fight

"Fearless" Frank Nicolosi (6-4-0) vs Borg Randall (8-5-0) at 265lbs

Randall tried to clinch up but was countered with some good strikes, Randall finally got the fight into the clinch but didn't do much except taking blows and getting cut, Nicolosi broke the clinch and dropped Randall twice with some great strikes, Randall not able to recover and Nicolosi lands a big right hand to finish this one!

Result: Nicolosi wins via KO 2:32 of the first round

8th fight

Nikolay "Burdik" Burdyalov (4-3-0) vs Mario Karlo (3-0-0) at 205lbs

These two met on two events ago where Karlo got the win via split decision getting fight of the night, so a rematch was certain to happen with this one, Burdyalov come out aggressive showing great striking and managing to cut Karlo, Karlo didn't do much with the stand up but when he managed to get a takedown he was nasty with his GNP, Burdyalov couldn't handle Karlo on the ground what a great first round, the second was all about Burdyalov dominating the stand up game with great strikes, he was working that cut of Karlo that looked nasty after the second round, in my eyes it was all down to the last round who could sneak the win, in the third Burdyalov was landing good strikes but he got taken down luckily he managed to control the fight, making the ref stand the fight up and that's where Burdyalov scored brilliant strikes to get the last round wow brilliant fight, and it got the fight of the night again question is is there going to be a third fight?

Result: Burdyalov win via split decision

Co-main event

Vidar Nord (5-2-0) vs Carrera "Assasin" Villamora (4-2-0) at 265lbs

The fight was looking like a boxing match with both guys landing good punches, Nord managed to get the counter takedown and Nord began to let the strikes go, Villamora knew he was in a bad position but couldn't improve no matter how hard he tried, Nord got the full mount and began to lay down the bombs rocking Villamora and not stopping there he finished Villamora with GNP.

Result: Nord wins via tko 2:57 of the first round

Main event

"The Jew" Meyer Lansky (8-1-0) vs "Gentle" Jack Byrne (6-1-0) 265lbs

These two big boys was never going to let this last the 5 rounds, Lansky was looking to defend his title for the third time, Lansky come out and got the clinch straight away, his opponent Byrne tried to control the clinch by stalling and trying to pull guard, but Lansky had such a great clinch and took control then landed some nice strikes, the strikes from Lansky were relentless landing great shots it was only a matter of time before he rocked Byrne, Lansky carried on the strikes to finish Byrne via tko and defend his title for the third time what a true champion!!

Result: Lansky wins via tko 2:37 of the first round!

What a brilliant event that was if you want to see more make sure you get your tickets for the next event I will see you there!!

UNFC #16 Jay vs Terranova. We have got a great card for you with 10 fights, with the co-main event being a title fight for the 205lbs title, usually title fights headline the show why not you ask? Because we have two warriors with a combined recorded of 22-3-0, 21 of those wins coming by way of tko/ko,'WOW that my friend is why the title fight missed out on the headliner! Enough about that lets introduce the fighters.

1st fight is a 185lbs fighter between.

Shun "Rolling Thunder" Masaru (4-3-0) vs The Flash (0-1-0)

Both guys having fought in the org before but are coming off of losses.

Masaru has respectable stand up and a purple belt his only weakness is his wrestling, this could be a tactical move to get people to take him down as he has already got two wins via submission. These tactics won't be any good for Flash tho, he has wonderful boxing and strong wrestling with usless Muay Thai and bjj, he will be looking to keep this one standing and look for his first victory not just in the org but of his career.

Prediction: Flash to win via tko.

2nd fight will be at 205lbs and see

Max Shaw (2-0-0) vs Toyoki "TK" Kawamura (3-4-0)

These two both coming into this one with great victories in there last fight in the org. Shaw with his wonderful wrestling and blue belt managed to pull of a good submission victory in his debut to the org. Kawamura won in the opposites style with his wonderful Muay Thai, he managed to pull off a quick tko he also has a blue belt so may be able to defend the submission attempts, one this is for sure, Shaw will want this one on the mat but Kawamura will want this one to stay standing.

Prediction: Shaw to stay undefeated and get a decision win.

3rd fight will be at 185lbs and see

Osamu "Catch Master" Kido (1-1-0) vs William "Father" Johnson (8-3-0)

Kido is a well rounded fight with not any major weaknesses, but not any outstanding talents, his opponent Johnson on the other hand has wonderful wrestling with a purple belt but no stand up at all, with all his wins coming via decision, it looks like Johnson likes to take the fight to the floor and grind his opponent down to get his victories, I'm not sure this tactic will work with an opponent with a submission win, Johnson will have to be careful and keep his limbs tucked in.

Prediction: Kido to win via tko he hasn't don't this before but I believe he can if the fight stays standing.

4th fight is at 155lbs with

"Erfiður" Ragnhildur Haraldsson (7-3-0) vs Meguru Takayanagi (2-3-0)

These two are both coming off losses in there last bouts in the org skill wise this is a brilliant match up, Haraldsson having great all round skills and showing this in his fights, he has wins via tko submission and decision that just shows he's not a 1 trick pony. His opponent Takayangi has slightly better skills but has no Muay Thai that's being his only weakness, I would think that Takayangi will take this one to the mat if he can as he posses a brown belt, while Haraldsson will probably be looking to exploit his opponent weak Muay Thai and try keep this one standing.

Prediction: Haraldsson to win via tko

5th fight will be in the 185lbs division

Davian Hawklight (2-1-0) vs Raise Hell (3-0-0)

Both winners in there last competition in the org, and both have there ways of finishing fights, Hawklight has no faults in the skills department he likes to stand and bang with his opponents, with his two victories coming by way of tko/ko, Hell being undefeated like to drag his fights out winning them all by decision, he also doesn't have any faults in the skills department but does posses a brown belt, and with Hawklight having only lost once via submission Hell may look to try get the submission victory in this one.

Prediction: Hawklight to win via decision again and stay undefeated

Now onto the main card

1st fight is a 205lbs fight between

Antoni Kristofer Hong (3-1-0) vs Dark Vengeance (5-3-0)

Two guys that are the same age have been training ruffly the same amount of time but 1 with a lot better skills than the other, Hong with exceptional boxing sensational wrestling a brown belt and strong Muay Thai faces of against Vengeance, who has remarkable Muay Thai, good wrestling, ok boxing and a blue belt. So this one would have you thinking that it's a one sided fight, but I wouldn't count Vendeance out he has an experienced manager that probably has a good plan for the fight.

Prediction: based on everyone wanting to see the underdog win! Vendeance to win via tko.

2nd fight is a 265lbs fight between

El Ka Bong (6-2-0) vs Lias Kota (2-0-0)

Bong the more experienced man has wins in all areas tko submission and decision wins, but with his purple belt being his best asset 4 of his wins have been threw submission, having said that he might want to keep this one standing, even tho he only has mediocre boxing and abysmal Muay Thai, as his opponent Kota has useless stand up but strong wrestling and a brown belt, this could turn out to be a battle of bjj in the cage, maybe if one fighter uses GNP to set up a sub maybe that will help them.

Prediction: Kota to win via submission

3rd fight is in the 170lbs division and sees

Andy Carroll (9-2-0) vs Jordan Belfort (2-0-0)

Carroll coming off a title shot loss will be angry and be looking to prove a point that he deserves another chance, with his wonderful boxing and all his wins coming via tko/ko his tactics will be obvious, keep this one standing and box his opponent, his opponent Belfort will probably also be looking to keep this one standing, with exceptional Muay Thai that is defiantly his strongest skill, but with a blue belt and his opponent only having a white belt with two losses via submission, he may take this one down and look for the sub.

Prediction: Carroll to win via tko

Co-main event of the evening for the 205 title will see

Akeel Lynch (5-0-0) defend his title for the first time against Buan Chaka (10-4-0)

The champion for this fight is defiantly the favourite with all his skills being higher than his opponent except bjj which is the same, plus he is undefeated and only 21 this is defiantly a fighter for the future.

But let's not take credit from Chaka he won his last fight in the org and does have 10 wins 8 of which are via submission, so his best bet is getting this fight to the ground try and soften the champ up and look for the submission.

Prediction: Lynch to defend his title for the first time and win via tko.

Main event of the even is in the 265lbs division and sees Juicy Jay (13-1-0) vs Vinnie "Sicilian Necktie" Terranova (9-2-0)

These two fighters have a combined 21 tko/ko's between them so some how I don't see this one going the distance. Jay has only 1 loss and this was for the title shot just over two months ago, where he lost to the man who is still champion to this day "The Jew" Meyer Lansky, so this shouldn't dishearten him to much as he does have an amazing 13 tko/ko victories underneath his belt, that being said there are still flaws in his game he has useless boxing and a white belt, his good points however are wonderful Muay Thai and respectable wrestling, which suite his game plan down to the ground keep the fight stand and chop away at his opponent with strikes. I caught up with Jay quick and asked if he wanted to say anything to his opponent and he kept it short and sweet saying "he's a dead man." Wow I wouldn't want to be his opponent Terranova, but he won't be worried as he has 8 tko/ko victories and both his losses was on another org, so making his debut hear tonight for UNFC he will be looking to make a statement in the skills department he actually has better skills in every department except Muay Thai, he also posses a purple belt and facing a fighter with only a white belt could he try for his first submission win? Or will he stick to what he does best and see who has the best technique or better chin in the stand up department.

That's all from me I hope you enjoy the upcoming show and it provides you with great entertainment, you will hear back from me after the show with the review.

Review

UNFC #16 Jay vs Terranova. Another crazy event with brilliant reception having all the seat (2000) sold out, with all 10 fights making the fans pleased.

1st fight is a 185lbs fighter between.

Shun "Rolling Thunder" Masaru (4-3-0) vs The Flash (0-1-0)

This fight had one aggressive fighter Masaru coming out swinging with wild shots, while his opponent Flash, was getting out of range finally getting the take down and working some nice GNP, in the mayhem of being pounded and getting cut threw GNP Masaru tried 6 sub attempts, her looked very afraid if being on the ground as Flash was letting the GNP go, Masaru's cut got worse and worse when finally the medical staff had no choice but to stop the fight.

Result: Flash wins via tko (cut) 4:58 of the first round

2nd fight was at 205lbs and see

Max Shaw (2-0-0) vs Toyoki "TK" Kawamura (3-4-0)

This one was over in just 0:28 of the first round what a quick tko win for Kawamura who got the clinch early, he then persisted with heavy knees to the head, knee after knee after knee then boom Shaw goes down and Kawamura jumps all over him finishing him with strikes.

Result: Kawamura wins via tko 0:28 of the first round

3rd fight was at 185lbs and see

Osamu "Catch Master" Kido (1-1-0) vs William "Father" Johnson (8-3-0)

This fight was a war going the distance in all three rounds, it started with Kido controlling the fight not letting Johnson get the takedown, Kido then showed he's not worried to go to the ground and took Johnson down, Johnson showed good wrestling getting back up but Kido took him straight back down, from there Kido tried 8 submissions before the round ended, second round Kido got the takedown straight away looking to dominate the ground game and doing well dominating that round, the third started with both fighters going for takedowns, Kido finally got the takedown after a grappling match the third was also dominated by Kido.

Result: Kido wins via decision

4th fight was at 155lbs with

"Erfiður" Ragnhildur Haraldsson (7-3-0) vs Meguru Takayanagi (2-3-0)

These two come out and was keeping this one standing one of these was going to drop sooner or later, Haraldsson with the better strikes landing kick and punches, showing great stand up he caught Takayangi with a wild strikes and pounced on him to finish him with strikes.

Result: Haraldsson wins via strikes 1:18 of the first round

5th fight was in the 185lbs division

Davian Hawklight (2-1-0) vs Raise Hell (3-0-0)

Hawklight started off this one swinging but got takedown by Hell early on, where that was just dominated by Hell not many submission or stikes attempts, really just a grappling match to end that round, the second was exactly the same Hawklight come out swinging and hell managed to get slipped out the way and got the takedown, this time hell didn't just grapple he tried a few submissions but overall dominating the second too, guess what happens in the third you guessed it, exactly the same great takedown from hell and great control dominating all 3 rounds.

Result: hell wins via decision

Now onto the main card

1st fight is a 205lbs fight between

Antoni Kristofer Hong (3-1-0) vs Dark Vengeance (5-3-0)

This was going to always going to be a test of each other's chins with one guy having excellent Muay Thai and the other excellent boxing. The fight started at a good pace both guys trying to work the other out with strikes, Vengeance was trying hard for the clinch but Hong kept him at distance and finally got the takedown, where he worked the GNP to soften his opponent up, the ref stood them up where Hong landed a nice strike cutting Vengeance then got another takedown, seconds round was the same as the first Vengeance trying to clinch while Hong controlled the action at distance, catching vengeance with some beautiful left hand that injures Vengeance but Hong doesn't care he jumps on him and finishes with a tko victory!

Result: Hong wins via tko 0:50 of the second round.

2nd fight is a 265lbs fight between

El Ka Bong (6-2-0) vs Lias Kota (2-0-0)

Bong come out swinging while Kota was composed looking for a takedown, Bong inflicted first damage cutting Kota but shortly after Kota got that takedown he was looking for, then he started laying down the bombs with Bong trying submission attempt but coming up with just a elbow to the face, Kota managed to cut Bong with some nice GNP so both guys ended that round with cuts, it was obvious from that round that Bong wants this one standing while Kota wanted this on the ground, Bong started this round well managing to keep the fight standing and making Kota's cut really bad, luckily Kota got the takedown late in the round otherwise the doctor could have stopped it then, third round started good for Bong again keeping it standing again he worked Kota over with strikes making his cut so bad the doctor had to stop the fight.

Result: Bong wins via tko 2:59 of the last round

3rd fight is in the 170lbs division and saw

Andy Carroll (9-2-0) vs Jordan Belfort (2-0-0)

These two are stand up warriors and they proved that in this fight both of them determined not to go to the ground, I thought for sure this would go the distance how wrong I was, Belfort felt the power of Carroll early on when he was rocked, but after that he clinched up and dominated in the clinch, the second round Belfort managed to get the clinch straight away but not so dominating this time, both guys working strikes in the clinch great round but Belfort probably won that round too, third round was exactly the same clinch game the whole way but the better strikes coming from Belfort, I think there will be a rematch between these two tho two very entertaining fighters.

Result: Belfort wins via decision

Co-main event of the evening for the 205 title saw

Akeel Lynch (5-0-0) was defending his title for the first time against Buan Chaka (10-4-0)

The title fight! And the champion is undefeated and wanted to keep it that way, he faced a tough opponent in Chaka who has a great record with some impressive wins, Lynch launched straight into action with a counter takedown and started working the GNP, Chaka thought that his best line of defence would be submission trying 3 times to get one, but Lynch had too good a defence and landed more strikes rocking his opponent, and carrying the punishment on finishing via tko.

Result: Lynch wins via tko 2:55 of the first round.

Main event of the evening was in the 265lbs division and saw Juicy Jay (13-1-0) vs Vinnie "Sicilian Necktie" Terranova (9-2-0)

Now this one we all knew wouldn't go the distance with both these guys having a combined 21 wins via tko/ko, But OMG I didn't think Jay would come out with a thunderous head kick not only dropping Terranova but also cutting him, Terranova managed to pull it back together and was trying to clinch, maybe a little to much tho as he took some shot's, Jay was landing great kicks in this fight inside leg kicks head kicks, Terranova looked a bit lost, it was only a matter of time before Jay landed another thunderous head kick, dropping Terranova then jumping all over him with strikes.

What a great event a fully packed fight card, and a full packed event. With the org having events like this, this will be an org to look out for making there way up the ranking.

UNFC MW#6 Rabago vs McMullen, this will be held at the famous Arena: Hayashi's Lounge - Tokyo (2,000) which UNFC use a lot and managed to fully sell out in there last event, fingers crossed with the packed card again it will manage to sell out again.

Starting with the undercard

1st fight is at 170lbs

Josh "The Conqueror" Conger 0-3-0 vs Nursultan Nasarbajew 1-2-0

These two have both not had the best start to there career, Conger has good all round skill but nothing that stands out to be fantastic, while Nasarbajew on the other hand has rubbish stand up and wrestling but holds a brown belt, Conger could defiantly get his first win this fight if he managed to keep it standing, but Nasarbajew will be looking to take this one straight to the floor and get a submission win.

2nd fight is at 265lbs

Zhang "The Third Brother" Fei 0-0-0 vs Tonio T Jr 3-3-0

Jr will defiantly be the under dog hear with only a purple belt and remarkable wrestling he also lost his first two fights In the org, his opponent Fei has a brown belt wonderful wrestling and ok boxing, he has better skills the only thing is Fei has not had a fight yet so the nerves could get to him, where Jr has had 6 fights already winning and losing some so will only have that as his advantage.

3rd fight is at 205lbs

"Eastern Sun" Dong Uk 3-2-0 vs Norman "Storming" Trapp 3-0-0

Uk has not had the best start in the org with 1 win 2 losses with his superb boxing and purple belt, he will be looking to take out an opponent that is undefeated but has never thought Mma, Trapp is undefeated in KT winning all 3 of his bouts but Mma is completely different, Uk has a purple belt and knowing that he is facing a KT fighter he will probably look to take this one to the floor, if not he does have superb boxing and could keep it standing, Trapp has proficient boxing and Muay Thai strong wrestling but only a blue belt, so Trapp will want to keep this one where he is best and where he started his career in the stand up department.

4th fight is at 205lbs

Ruarc "The Meat Hook" Lacy 3-3-0 vs Norg Loire 1-1-0

These two both with ruffly the same skill look to have a good fight on our hands, both looking to get to there records on the plus side both these guys also lost there first fight in the org, there is just one thing wrong with these two fighters, Lacy has low moral so only has a few days to improve that or this could be a one sided fight, with Loire getting his record back to more wins than losses.

5th fight last fight on the undercard is at 170lbs

Nick "NiceGuy" Diaz 1-1-0 vs "Ruthless" Robbie Rage 3-1-0

Nick will be the favourite in this bout with exceptional boxing, superb Muay that and wrestling and a brown belt he has nearly all skills better than his opponent, but is coming off of a loss in his last fight in the org, Rage on the other hand won his first fight in the org in brilliant manner, but his skills only match Nick's in the stand up department, he has sensational boxing superb Muay Thai proficient wrestling and only a blue belt, Rage will have to keep this one standing otherwise it could be an early submission win for Nick, Nick shouldn't worry where this fight takes place he can chill out with the stand up looking for a takedown when he sees fit too, this will be a major test for rage in this fight but would shoot him up the ladder if he can pull off a win.

Now for the main card of the evening

1st fight is at 265lbs

Anderson Weidman 6-6-0 vs Ernesto "La Muerte" El Angel 6-4-0

This one has the potential to be a banger with two big heavyweights going at it, there is just one big problem Weidman has lost all hope and has no moral, so his opponent Angel will have an easy ride in this fight it's a shame to see this happen, but some managers just don't take care of there fighters.

2nd fight is at 185lbs

Abel Toushiro 3-0-0 vs Matti Veijamo 4-2-0

Toushiro in my eyes will be the big underdog even tho he's undefeated and has good boxing and a brown belt that's all he has, meanwhile his opponent Veijamo has exceptional boxing strong Muay Thai and good wrestling but only a white belt, I believe that with these skills he will be able to keep this one standing and finish it on the feet ... I just hope I'm right.

3rd fight is at 265lbs

Carrera "Assasin" Villamora 4-3-0 vs Artur Bekoyan 8-3-0

This one is going to be an interesting bout we have a tko/ko artist in Villamora, and a submission artist in Bekoyan, that makes this fight very obvious of the two's game plans Villamora has a 2-1 record in the org all finishes via tko even the one he lost, this shows he has no intention on letting it go to the judges decision, Bekoyan was tko'd in his first bout of the org but he won submission of the night award for his last bout with a beautiful knee bar, the question remains can Villamora keep it standing or can Bekoyan get it to the ground the decider of that will surely be the fight winner.

Co-main event is at 155lbs

Thomas Prince 7-2-0 vs Orange Joe 4-2-0

Prince having all but one of his wins via decision like to take things the distance and make them last the hole 3 rounds, Joe on the other hand has won all his via tko/ko will be looking to add to his tally but Prince has never been tko/KO'D before showing he has a tough chin, Joe is defiantly the favourite coming into this bout with his good stand up, sensational wrestling and brown belt, Prince only has good stand up wonderful wrestling with a blue belt this will be a real test for him.

And now for the main event of the evening this is in the 170lbs division

Adrian McMullen 7-2-0 vs Ryan Rabago 10-3-0

McMullen has no secrets all but one of his wins coming via submission he hold a brown belt with respectable wrestling but no stand up, Rabago on the other hand has remarkable Muay Thai and good wrestling but only a blue belt, this is going to be another famous grappler vs striker fight, with the outcome coming via McMullen taking it to the ground or Rabago keeping it standing, either way I can't see this one going the distance.

That's all from me be sure to check back with the review of all the action. We hope you enjoy the show and you keep the sold out crowd going. P.s I do apologise for it being late I thought the event was this weekend.

Review

Post event - UNFC MW#6 Rabago vs McMullen so with last weekends show filling out the 2000 capacity crowd at Arena:Hayashi's Lounge - Tokyo, the midweek show had a lot to live up to, it managed to sell just as many tickets packing the venue out with 2000 capacity crowd, the overall rating was the only thing that was a little less.

Anyway moving on to the under card

1st fight was at 170lbs

Josh "The Conqueror" Conger 0-3-0 vs Nursultan Nasarbajew 1-2-0

Conger come out like a crazy man looking for his first win, he come out throwing some lovely strikes while Nasarbajew was trying for takedowns but failing, Conger took advantage of this with some nice counter strikes, Conger caught Nasarbajew with a nice right that stumbled him backwards and from there Conger laid down the bombs, Nasarbajew tapped due to many strikes.

Result: Conger wins via tko 1:08 of the very first round

2nd fight was at 265lbs

Zhang "The Third Brother" Fei 0-0-0 vs Tonio T Jr 3-3-0

This one was obvious when it started both guys wanted this one on the ground, Fei tried for the takedown and Jr countered with his own takedown, from hear Jr was just laying and praying not doing much at all, Fei tried two submissions before the ref stood things up then straight of the bat Jr takes Fei straight back down again, but this time Fei worked to get his opponent back I too guard before trying the submission, and it worked Fei gets the submission with the first attempt this time.

Result: Fei wins via triangle choke 1:56 of the first round

3rd fight was at 205lbs

"Eastern Sun" Dong Uk 3-2-0 vs Norman "Storming" Trapp 3-0-0

This one started as a stand up battle with both guys throwing strikes but Uk getting the better end of the strikes, Trapp realised this and took the fight into the clinch but Uk seemed to work more strikes in the clinch to, Trapp decided to take his opponent down then stood straight back up, that could have been a statement takedown just to show he could do it, that only made Uk angry and he caught Trapp with some lovely strikes rocking him against the cage, Uk kept up the pressure and the ref had to stop the fight.

Result: Uk wins via tko 1:30 of the first round

4th fight was at 205lbs

Norg Loire 1-1-0 vs Ruarc "The Meat Hook" Lacy 3-3-0

5th fight was at 170lbs

"Ruthless" Robbie Rage 3-1-0 vs Nick "NiceGuy" Diaz 1-1-0

Wow now this one shocked me there was me saying Rage was the underdog, Diaz decided to stand with Rage and he just couldn't find his distance, Rage was catching Diaz with nice kick and punches keeping Diaz guessing, Rage landed a brilliant right hand that cut Diaz, Diaz kept missing with shots he just couldn't get the range with his shots, Rage kept chipping away with fantastic shots, Rage used good footwork to get in and out then BOOM he landed a big right that rocked Diaz, Rage connected with a nasty uppercut and Diaz was out cold.

Result: Rage wins via KO 3:20 of the first round

Now onto the main card

1st fight was at 265lbs

Ernesto "La Muerte" El Angel 6-4-0 vs Anderson Weidman 6-6-0

This bout surprised before the fight I was talking about how Weidman hadn't been taken care of so would loose easy, but he put up a hell of a fight against Angel even tho Angel dominated, Weidman could have given up at any time but kept pushing on even attacking with submission attempts, maybe if his coach took care of him he could be a fighter to watch out for, no dis-credit to Angel he took his opponent down quite a few times each round showing his dominance, but I would have like to have seen a stoppage considering his opponent had no moral but hay hoe he got the win.

Result:Angel wins via decision

2nd fight was at 185lbs

Matti Veijamo 4-2-1 vs Abel Toushiro 3-0-0

Toushiro come out the aggressor throwing big punches and getting a quick takedown, he couldn't pass guard so he just stood up as if to say I dictate where this fight takes place, that was the start of the end for his dominance tho as he wound Veijamo up, Veijamo come swinging at Toushiro missing a lot of punches but catching Toushiro with a nice jab that rocked him, Veijamo catches Tushiro again knocking him clean out what a come back.

Result: Veijamo wins via ko 1:13 of the first round

3rd fight was at 265lbs

Carrera "Assasin" Villamora 4-3-0 vs Artur Bekoyan 8-3-0

Wow I no I said that it was obvious what these two would do but when Bekoyan got the takedown I think he set a Guinness world record for submissions attempts, 18 in total with Villamora only try 3 but what a great show of defensive grappling from Villamora, after all those submission attempts I think Bekoyan got tired out he was unable to get the takedown in the second round, Villamora landed a lovely right hand that rocked Bekoyan also cutting him, Villamora jumped in Bekoyan landing another big punch and finishing him.

Result: Villamora wins via ko 1:20 of the second round.

Co-main event was at 155lbs

Thomas Prince 7-2-0 vs Orange Joe 4-2-0

Joe come out swinging but missing with a lot of punches he wasn't having much luck, while Prince was trying to take it into the clinch but also wasn't having much luck, Prince finally got the clinch he was missing a few shots while Joe was trying to take the fight to the ground, after failing 3 times he finally got the takedown and landed some good GNP to finish the first round, round 1 to Joe. The second was the same as the first this time Joe catching Prince more with the strikes, prince finally got the clinch and landed so nice strikes on the inside but again Joe got a takedown Prince showed good control, the ref had to stand it up this time Prince got the better of the stand up, Prince wins the second.

Third round again was like the other two Prince got the clinch early working strikes on the inside, when Joe got a takedown towards the end he didn't have enough time to work.

Prince won that round too.

Result: Prince wins via split decision

Main event was at 170lbs

Adrian McMullen 7-2-0 vs Ryan Rabago 10-3-0

Rabago was determined to take this one to the clinch but his opponent McMullen kept circling away then finally landing a counter takedown, Rabago was doing well to control from the bottom but McMullen was throwing down some nice GNP, and to add to the mix he was attempting submission, McMullen failed twice but third time lucky as he cranked a kimura on finishing the fight early.

Result: McMullen wins via Kimura 2:20 of the first round

Thank you everyone for joining me with the review another great event from the makers of UNFC be sure to tune in next time for more thunderous action.

UNFC #17 Mitchell vs Seung WOW this org is knocking out events like they are going out of fashion, the best part is there not just make shift they are all selling out and are great events, so without going on anymore hear is the line up.

Starting with the undercard we have

1st fight at 265lbs

Kane Velasquez 5-1-0 vs "Chesty" Don Machete 1-2-0

On paper this should be one sided with Machete having wonderful boxing and a purple belt, he beats his opponents skills as Velasquez only has remarkable wrestling and a blue belt, but last time I judged a fight like that I was proven wrong many times, especially as Velasquez has 4 tko/ko wins and all of Machete's losses are via tko/ko so who knows what will happen.

2nd fight at 170lbs

Ivan Buflienko 3-2-0 vs Matt "The Immortal " Brown 4-3-0

Oh dear another case of manager not taking care of his fighter, at least Brown can get a nice easy run out testing his skills maybe try different tactics, but it is a real shame when this happens to fighters a big waste in sometimes quality talent.

3rd fight at 155lbs

Alexander Fors 2-1-0 vs Joe Silva 3-2-0

This is another fight that looks like it's going to be one sided Fors has proficient boxing and wrestling, with wonderful Muay Thai and a purple belt, his opponent matches his boxing and has wonderful wrestling but only a blue belt and useless Muay Thai, however with his wonderful wrestling he could control the fight and make it difficult for Fors to work his game plan, I suppose there is only one way to find out.

4th fight at 265lbs

VG "Valyok" Beloff 2-0-0 vs "The Dominator" Vinny Tamaso 4-2-0

Dam this one is poised to be a great fight with two big guys ruffly the same skill levels, one with remarkable wrestling (Beloff) and the other (Tamaso) has exceptional boxing, these two also posses other great skills there only let downs are there blue belts, but with two big guys in the cage I think submissions is the last thing on there mind they want to do damage to one another, this is going to be one to watch I can't wait for this one!

5th fight at 155lbs

Dominik "The Crusher" Kokoszka 3-1-0 vs Ruslan Mstislav Byhenikov 4-2-0

These two poses all round good skill levels Kokoszka with his sensational boxing, superb Muay Thai, remarkable wrestling only has one bad point that is a blue belt, but this has not effected him in his first two fights in the org he won his debut org fight via tko, then showed he can go the distance as he won his second via decision, his opponent Byhenikov had exceptional boxing, proficient Muay Thai, remarkable wrestling but also posses a purple belt, his debut to the org didn't go to well loosing via ko he will be looking to turn things around and with 2 submission wins, he could play into Kokoazka weaknesses.

Now onto the main event

1st fight at 145lbs

Dave "The Machine" Johnson 3-0-0 vs TwoBrooks OneLove 4-2-0

Another close one as in skill wise they both have the same boxing and Muay Thai skills, Johnson has sensational wrestling with a purple belt while his opponent Onelove has exceptional wrestling, with a blue belt, but with both guys having tko/ko wins if you ask me this is going to be a battle for dominant position on the ground, from there it will be who can pull of the cleaner GNP to get the victory.

2nd fight at 170lbs

Katuro "Catch King" Tisoaka 3-1-0 vs "The Transman" Ellen Littlejohn Wilson Greenbaum Hagler 6-3-0

Tisoaka started off his career as a 155lbs fighter winning 2 and loosing 1 but when he made his debut to this org he fought at 170lbs, but it didn't seem to bother him as he pulled off a lovely kimura getting submission of the night, Hangler hasn't had much luck on the org with 3 losses and just 1 win, but with both fighter preferring to submit there opponents this could turn into a grappling fight early on.

3rd fight at 170lbs

Aiden "Angry" August 5-3-0 vs Fujiyama Akagono 5-2-0

Oooo this one is going to be interesting we have a tko/ko specialist with exceptional boxing, taking on a submission specialist, the best part August the tko/ko specialist losses are mainly submissions, while his opponents Akagono's losses are all from tko/ko, so not only do we have two completely different fighters we have two guys that's strengths are the others weaknesses this should be interesting.

Co-main event 185lbs

Ondrej "The International Killer" Rigo 3-0-0 vs Heishiro "Katana" Mitsurugi 6-2-0

Rigo has a brown belt and will look to put it to use again, he is undefeated with one win via decisions the other two submission he also has competent boxing but not very good Muay Thai, and not forgetting his superb wrestling Rigo likes to take his opponents down and wear them out to get a submission victory, Mitsurugi has exceptional Muay Thai with competent wrestling not any good boxing and only holds a white belt, so in the skills department it is a striker vs wrestler, Mitsurugi has an ok record in the org of 3 wins 2 losses one being a title shot loss, however he has just come under new management so It will be interesting to see how he gets on.

ITS TIME FOR THE MAIN EVENT OF THE EVENING this will be a contest at 170lbs and feature

"the Modernday Messiah" Malcolm Mitchell 5-3-0 taking on Hyun Seung 7-1-0

Both these guys having most of there wins coming by way of tko/ko and have no submission wins, this tells me these two warriors are going to go toe to toe and let it all hang out in the cage, both guys to hold purple belts but that the only thing the same for these two, Mitchell has remarkable boxing, competent Muay Thai, and superb wrestling, sounds good until you hear what his opponent has, Seung has exceptional boxing, respectable Muay Thai, and wonderful wrestling, so on paper this is a David vs Goliath and we all know how that story goes, this is another fight that I am looking forward to and you know the winner of this will be one step closer to that title shot.

Wow what a great card we have install for you, you lucky fight fans spoiled with great match ups, I myself can't wait to watch this card and I'm sure it will have a sold out arena of fans dying for the action to start.

Review

UNFC #17 Mitchell vs Seung Q a great event not as good as the last two but still great with 1625 in attendance this is what happend.

Starting with the undercard we had the

1st fight at 265lbs

Kane Velasquez 5-1-0 vs "Chesty" Don Machete 1-2-0

Just looking at these two records you may think that this one was going to be a one sided fight how wrong you was, Machete come out with a lovely shot cutting Velasquez with his first punch, he then went swinging at Velasquez with wild shots missing most of them tho, Velasquez soon changed tactics and took this fight to the ground where it turned into a submission match, both guys going for them Velasquez with two attempts while Machete tried 10 all failing, but it looked good for the judges as they give the round to Machete that's 1-0 to him. Second round Machete come out swinging but Velasquez used good foot work to move out of range then get a takedown, same as the first round both try for submissions but this time Velasquez traditions to full mount and lay down bombs, cutting Machete Velasquez carried on working the cut until the doctor stepped in and stopped the fight.

Result: Velasquez wins via tko cut 3:45 of the second round.

2nd fight at 170lbs

Ivan Buflienko 3-2-0 vs Matt "The Immortal " Brown 4-3-0

First round was all about brown connecting with nice strikes and knocking his opponent down early also cutting him but not able to finish, Buflienko managed to regain himself but all he tried to do was clinch, then when brown clinched with him brown got the better of the clinch, brown knocked Buflienko down two more times in the first but be could not finish he has nice stand up power, maybe he needs to work his GNP to finish fights on the floor but Brown dominated that first round that's 1-0 to him. Second round same as the first he get another knockdown but can't finish, then another knockdown and can't finish this time he made that cut worse tho, Buflienko does his first bit of action by throwing so shots in the clinch but as soon as it goes to striking distance he gets knockdown again, second round to brown 2-0 Buflienko needs a finish to win this one, third round Brown comes out strong and with 6 knockdowns with failed finishes was not going to make it 7, brown finishes with tko due to strikes.

Result: Brown wins via tko strikes 0:27 of the last round

3rd fight at 155lbs

Alexander Fors 2-1-0 vs Joe Silva 3-2-0

Fors come out with a lovely strike that cut Silva, after a couple of shots in the clinch and a takedown both fighters settle into the fight, the rest of the round was on the feet going into the clinch with both guys connecting with nice shots, but Fors defiantly connected with the cleaner shot not just on the inside but outside too dominating the first round that 1-0 to fors. Second round Fors come out with some nice strikes while Silva went for takedowns but couldn't get them, then Fors caught Silva with a nice shot rocking him then wasting no time in throwing the knockout punch, he didn't even let Silva think about regaining him self he just out an out knocked him clean out.

Result: Fors wins via KO 0:59 of the second round

4th fight at 265lbs

VG "Valyok" Beloff 2-0-0 vs "The Dominator" Vinny Tamaso 4-2-0

This one was quite obvious from the start that we had a clinch artist vs a striker Beloff was going for the clinch like a mad man he took some nasty counters in the process but finally got it, and you can see why he tried so hard to get it he was landing so nasty shots in the clinch, all that Tamaso could do is try and hold on and slow down the pace but Beloff was relentless in the clinch, dominating that hole round in the clinch that's 1-0 to Beloff. Round two Tamaso does better at the start of this round keeping it at distance, finally scoring some points after that bad first round but it wasn't long before Beloff got the clinch again, and started chipping away at Tamaso before rocking him, he then let the strikes go finishing Tamaso.

Result: Beloff wins via tko 3:51 of the second round

5th fight at 155lbs

Dominik "The Crusher" Kokoszka 3-1-0 vs Ruslan Mstislav Byhenikov 4-2-0

This looked to be a clinch specialist going up against a submission specialist, they only reason I say that was Kokoszka took this one into the clinch early on but couldn't land many shots, then Byhenikov got a takedown and like a mad one attempted 5 submissions before the end of the first, very close round could have gone either way, second round stayed at striking distance to begin with, Kokoszka was getting the better of the striking tho so Byhenikov decided to take this one down again, again he was crazy with the submission attempts trying 6 this time before the round come to and end, Byhenikov got that round so it was down to the last round, third round round started with a little more excitement with both guys going toe to toe for a little bit before you guessed it, Byhenikov got the takedown this time he tried gaining a better position but Kokoszka defended well, that was all the excitement from that round Byhenikov probably stole it tho.

Result: Byhenikov wins via decision

Now onto the main event

1st fight was at 145lbs

Dave "The Machine" Johnson 3-0-0 vs TwoBrooks OneLove 4-2-0

OneLove come out the aggressor swinging for Johnson and getting a takedown but soon being swept, Johnson laid down some nice GNP but the fight is stood up after a few more takedown and a few more stand ups, Onelove dominated the first round not really doing much tho. Second round OneLove gets the takedown but again Johnson gets the sweep, From there he tried transitioning to mount with a few failed attempts and some GNP he finally got the full mount, that was the start of the end for OneLove Johnson laid down Nast GNP rocking then stopping OneLove and remaining undefeated.

Result: Johnson win via tko 4:57 of the second round

2nd fight was at 170lbs

Katuro "Catch King" Tisoaka 3-1-0 vs "The Transman" Ellen Littlejohn

Wilson Greenbaum Hagler 6-3-0

Both guys looked evenly matched in this one for the first round, Littlejohn got a takedown early and was looking for a submission but so was Tisoaka, the GNP was little a far between it was all about improving positions then looking for the submission, there was a little stand up period in the middle but both guys wanted it back on the floor, after many failed attempts by Tisoaka Littlejohn managed to get the takedown where it was a submission battle till the end of the round, second round was the same as the first Littlejohn getting the takedown this time Tisoaka managed to get the sweep, he then worked in some GNP and was looking to improve the position but after this he got sweeped then it turned into a submission battle again, which for the beginner fans would be dull but for the people that know there mma they would respect this ground game, third round was like the first two But this time Tisoaka got the takedown, this didn't matter as Littlejohn finally worked harder in the ground game stealing the last round sadly it was to little to late.

Result: Tisoaka wins via decision

3rd fight was at 170lbs

Aiden "Angry" August 5-3-0 vs Fujiyama Akagono 5-2-0

Wow what a crazy start to this fight Akagono got the takedown early are failed with 8 submission attempts, fair play to him can't blame him for trying you just have to give credit to August for having such good defence, but when the fight was stood up this is when the real crazy stuff happened, it seemed to have annoyed August that Akagono tried this many submission attempts he landed some nasty strikes, and when Akagono dropped he carried on with nasty shots making Akagono TAP via strikes that's some nasty power, that's not the craziest part he tapped with 1 second to go in the round.

Result: August wins via submission via strikes 4:59 of the first round.

Co-main event was at 185lbs

Ondrej "The International Killer" Rigo 3-0-0 vs Heishiro "Katana" Mitsurugi 6-2-0

Mitsurugi come out swinging his kicks like a wild man connecting with some just missing with others, Rigo was trying hard to take this one down but he couldn't get the takedown, then Mitsurugi landed more strikes it looked like it could all be over if he carried on landing those kicks, but Rigo finally got the takedown he turned into the wild one this time with submission attempts 3 in quick succession with the last one finishing his opponent, wow what a come back to a fight it just shows you need to be very versatile when it comes to Mma.

Result: Rigo win via kimura 4:45 of the first round

The main event was at 170lbs and featured

"the Modernday Messiah" Malcolm Mitchell 5-3-0 taking on Hyun Seung 7-1-0

What a match up we had hear this was an exciting fight, Mitchell was dominating the stand up landing some nice shots and showed he had good defence and movement when he avoided Seung shots, even tho he was doing well in the stand up Mitchell to the fight down where he tried to land some GNP but he couldn't get a better position to do any damage with his shots, end of round one Mitchell dominated that round. Second round was a stand up war the hole round both guys finding there rhythm landing shots, both making the other miss too which will tire their opponents out, very close round maybe give it to Mitchell making it 2-0 to him meaning Seung needed a finish. Third round Mitchell landed three takedowns it looked like he knew he was ahead and wanted to control the fight till the end, but Seung is a slippery customer managing to get back up and trying to implement his game plan, but it's too late the fight is over maybe if he had another few rounds he could have worked his game plan more, however we could see a rematch as it was a close fight.

Result: Mitchell wins via decision

Thank you guys for joining us we hope you enjoyed the event even tho it didn't have as much hype as the last few events in my eyes it was still successful we hope to see you next week for more action.

UNFC #18 Nomo vs Maxiq is on the 13th of September and will be held at Arena: Hayashi's Lounge - Tokyo there is a capacity of 2000 so be sure to get your tickets early this is going to a war with a title fight in the mix just to spice things up.

As always starting with the undercard, the upcoming fighters that can't wait to get onto the main card and progress up the ladder to become number 1.

1st Fight is at 145lbs

Grayson Crakehall 1-1-0 vs Tom "Stoneface" Niinimaeki 0-1-0

These two both loosing there last fight in the org via tko strikes, Crakehall had an interesting start beating TwoBrooks OneLove via decision, but it was obvious that TwoBrooks OneLove wanted a rematch and it happens, Crakehall didn't get so lucky this time losing via tko but they could meet again if he wins this fight, he has wonderful wrestling so will be looking to take this fight down and control the pace from there, while Niinimaeki has a brown belt, so if Crakehall does do this he will have to be careful as he might end up going night night.

2nd Fight is at 155lbs

Niko Watts 1-0-0 vs Asiong "Filipino Gangster" Salonga 5-6-0

Wow both these guys coming off of tko victories in there last bouts, Salonga was in the org where he made a fantastic start, it's just a shame about his record he started of with 5 losses in a row most people quit then, but no not Salonga he goes and wins the next 5 out of 6 fights what a come back, all he needs to do now is change up those clothes to boost his moral and he could carry on his winning ways.

3rd Fight is at 155lbs

Manuel "Ares" Perez 3-2-0 vs Viktor "The Beast" Georlev 2-4-0

These two both having had a few fights in the org got off to a completely different start, Perez lost his debut in the org via decision and has now won his last two via KO now that's how you send a statement, while Georlev won his debut to the org then lost his next 3 bouts, he will be needing to get those stinky clothes changed and get his moral back, otherwise it's is going to be a perfect KO spree for Perez he will make it 3 in a row.

4th Fight at 145lbs

Jon "The New Breed" Hopkins 3-1-0 vs Jeet Bhatt 2-2-0

Hopkins has shown some outstanding hands in his first 3 fights finishing all of them with tko/ko victories, but he's stepped up a league now and his debut to the org didn't quite go to plan, he thought a tough opponent that he just couldn't put away, both guys were going toe to toe making the fans crazy and winning fight of the night, that won't be the last time them two meet you can be sure, but for now he faces a tough opponent with a org record of 1-2-0 Bhatt he has superb Muay Thai, and is coming off of a win via tko so his confidence will be threw the roof, also to add to that confidence it was a Muay Thai specialist that beat Hopkins.

5th Fight is at 205lbs

Macho "Savage" Randy 2-0-0 vs Ed "La Crotch" Fazio 4-3-0

These two are both on a two fight win streak and are looking to make it there third in a row, Randy has got to have this one on paper with his remarkable boxing, wonderful Muay Thai, proficient wrestling and a purple belt, while his opponent only has proficient boxing, proficient Muay Thai, he does however have better wrestling with strong wrestling, but only hold a blue belt, we have seen many time the under dog on paper come and win the fight so like they say it's not over till it's over.

Now onto the main card what all the upcoming fighters want to be on.

1st fight Fight is at 185lbs

Bruce Wayne 4-1-0 vs Osamu "Catch Master" Kido 2-1-0

This one is the famous David vs Goliath fight, Wayne is taller and heavier but the younger fighter with way better skill than his opponent, but Kido has shown no fear with excepting this one, maybe it's a sign to say to Wayne on his debut to the org that he has to work his way up, he's not just going to come in straight at the top, but you can't take credit away from Kido he does have 2 wins In the org against good opponents, so we could be in for a shock win.

2nd Fight is at 205lbs

Cable Carson 6-5-0 vs Trevor Reznick 7-3-0

Both these guys are former champions, Carson was the 205lbs champion at BFC but he never managed to defend it he lost his first title defence, and since then he has joined the org with 1 win and 1 loss, all of his wins however minus 1 have been from tko/ko so he has some nasty power, Reznick was the former 205lbs champion for UNFC, he had a brilliant start to the org he won his first fight then got ko of night for his title fight, but it went down hill from there he lost via fight of the night then lost again via an armbar, so he will be looking to turn his bad fortune around and get back to winning ways.

3rd fightFight is at 170lbs

Okkuke Jiizu "Juice" Okunaba 6-0-0 vs Kenji "T-Bone" Nakamura 4-1-0

Wow both these guys have good records, Okunaba being undefeated has shown he doesn't just have 1 style with two wins in the org, 1 via ko 1 via submission showing that he can handle the fight any where it goes, he loves finishing the fights out of all 6 fights he has never been the distance, Nakamura has tasted defeat in his first ever fight from there on he beat some animal of fighters, his last two wins although they went the distance was against two strong guys in the org, this shows he likes to grind his opponents down, and with Okunaba never gone this distance it should be interesting if Nakamura can take it the full 3 rounds, to see how Okunaba does in the later stages of the fight, as he has only once been into the second round.

And now for the co-main event is the 185lbs title fight

Pete "The Fixer" Alexander 9-2-0 vs Martinez Eluard 5-2-0

We have the champion defending his title for the third time, he has shown he is a submission specialist by winning the title via armbar, then going on to win the two title defences not just by submission but getting submission of the night award, the only thing he does lack is stand up but so far he hasn't needed to have it, with his wonderful wrestling he manages to take his opponents down and finish them, his opponent Eluard is lucky to be getting this opportunity, having only had 1 fight in the org, however he did win and he does have good enough skills to be a champion, but most people have to win a few to get a title shot, we will have to see if he can take advantage of this opportunity and get the title.

Main event of the evening is at 170lbs

"Croc Boy" Shintaro Nomo 8-1-0 vs Silvean "Sniper" Maxiq 11-4-0

Wow both guys with amazing records, Nomo was undefeated had the 170lbs title and defended it twice until he lost it in his last fight via decision, but not to anyone he lost to the 155lbs champion of the org Hector "Macho" Camacho who now holds both title, Maxiq is a tko/ko artist with 10 of his victories this way, with this in mind Nomo might want to take this one to the ground as he does have 5 of his 8 victories via submission, and with Maxiq only having a white belt that could be a big decider in this fight.

Thank you again for reading and we hope that you all like the look of this event and want to see first hand who the 185lbs champion will be after the event, remember if you do get you tickets in ASAP.

Review

UNFC #18 Nomo vs Maxiq was a success selling out the 2000 capacity arena, and having the 5th best event rating yet, and it was truly a great event with 7 tko/ko's 2 decisions and 1 submission there was a little bit of everything.

1st Fight was at 145lbs

Grayson Crakehall 1-1-0 vs Tom "Stoneface" Niinimaeki 0-1-0

Crakehall got straight on the inside and went into the clinch, from hear he landed some nice punches not just to the head but to the body as well wearing his opponent down, Niinimaeki didn't want to stay in this position and tried to pull guar but Crakehall had to good a clinch for him and kept him pined, also Crakehall had been working his strength which went in his favor with the clinch and he landed a nasty punch rocking Niinimaeki, Crakehall dropped his opponent with a nice uppercut then finished with strikes.

Result: Crakehall wins via tko strikes 1:56 of the very first round.

2nd Fight was at 155lbs

Niko Watts 1-0-0 vs Asiong "Filipino Gangster" Salonga 5-6-0

This one looked like to confused fighters both going into the clinch then releasing again, it was like both had the same game plan get the clinch let go of the clinch throw a few shots and clinch again, that being said Salonga got the better of the strikes and in the clinch to dominate the first round, second round they copied each other again this time not with clinching but with takedowns and standing up, both guys scoring takedowns both guys getting stand ups and both guys looking for the submission, but in the end the tidier work came from Salonga again making it 2-0 to him for rounds, the undefeated Watts needed a finish in the last round, but Salonga showed his class and he was confutable where ever the fight took place, even when he was taken down he controlled looked for a submission sweep or stand up, very good dominance by Salonga showing his experience to get a unanimous win.

Result: Salonga wins via decision

3rd Fight was at 155lbs

Manuel "Ares" Perez 3-2-0 vs Viktor "The Beast" Georlev 2-4-0

Quickest fight of the night, wow Perez was like a man possessed he come out swinging with nasty strikes, Perez rocked Georlev with a jab then a right then finished him with an uppercut, it's like Perez wanted to send a statement that being his third straight victory and in incredible fashion, title shot has got to be close on the cards for him you would have to think.

Result: Perez wins via tko strikes 0:15 of the first round.

4th Fight was at 145lbs

Jon "The New Breed" Hopkins 3-1-0 vs Jeet Bhatt 2-2-0

This one was a stand up battle both guys throwing nice clean punches, Hopkins was the first to throw a successful kick which must have reminded Bhatt that he could kick, then both started turning this one into a kickboxing match but with 4oz gloves and no shin guards that's going to hurt, Bhatt got caught with a lovely combination and Hopkins pressed forward with punches and knees to finish this fight.

Result: Hopkins wins via tko strikes 2:36 in the first round.

5th Fight was at 205lbs

Macho "Savage" Randy 2-0-0 vs Ed "La Crotch" Fazio 4-3-0

This was brilliant start to a fight with both guys striking with punches and kick landing nicely but just as many missing, with great movement by both fighters showing their class not just going to stand still but using good movement too, Fazio was bored of the stand up so took the fight to the ground, he landed some nice ground and pound but only in guard so not able to do to much damage, first round to Fazio the second round, Randy come alive in the second getting the clinch early on and showing his dominance landing some nice strikes, Fazio was missing with a lot of strikes in the clinch but managed to land a nice knee to cut Randy, but Randy dominated the clinch he clearly had a better clinch game, 1-1 in rounds the last round was all to play for, and with the second round being such a success for Randy it was no surprise that he looked to take it into the clinch early, and again he landed the cleaner and nicer strikes this time he landed a nasty elbow on Fazio cutting him, he dominated that last round winning him the fight these two could be up for a rematch what a great fight.

Result: Randy wins via decision

Now onto the main card what all the upcoming fighters want to be on.

1st fight Fight was at 185lbs

Bruce Wayne 4-1-0 vs Osamu "Catch Master" Kido 2-1-0

What a great fight this was Kido tried for the takedown so Wayne sat back and countered with some nice shots, what precision with some of those strikes Kido tried to get the takedown a few more times but Wayne had very good takedown defence, and once he stuffed the takedowns he caught Kido with some nice counters, not only was Wayne landing nice counters he was the more aggressive fighter coming forward with good strikes, Wayne landed a nice head kick that knocked Kido down rocked and cut him now thats a nasty kick, it looked like Kido had enough time to regain himself but Wayne landed another lovely head kick dropping Kido again, Wayne waved him up missing with a head kick but then knocking Kido out with a left hook in the last second of the round.

Result: Wayne wins via ko punch 4:59 in the first round.

2nd Fight was at 205lbs

Cable Carson 6-5-0 vs Trevor Reznick 7-3-0

Another two experienced guys starting off with some good strikes, Reznick tried to clinch up but couldn't get it and Carson tried a takedown but couldn't get it, these two were cancelling each other out keeping the fight standing and at striking distance, Reznick was all about the kicks landing them low high and to the body, while Carson was trying to land with the punches a lot of them was missing, then Reznick landed with a good head kick that cut Carson then buckled his knee with a lovely leg kick, Reznick threw a big head kick that dropped Carson the he simply stepped back and told him to get up which he did but he was still rocked, after a few more strikes Reznick finally landed the killer head kick knocking Carson clean out.

Result: Reznick wins via ko head kick 3:10 of the first round.

3rd fightFight was at 170lbs

Okkuke Jiizu "Juice" Okunaba 6-0-0 vs Kenji "T-Bone" Nakamura 4-1-0

Nakamura started off with some good strikes but got taken down but it was soon stood back up, and when it went into the clinch Okunaba go the better of the clinch and when it was broke he got another takedown, but with no action it was soon stood back up finishing the round Okunaba would get that round making it 1-0 to the undefeated man, the second Okunaba got the fight straight into the clinch landing some nice shots, but deciding to take this one to the ground again this time he made the most if it landing some nasty GNP cutting Nakamura, but he didn't stop there he carried on with the strikes rocking his opponent and opening the cut even more before Knocking him clean out.

Result: Okunaba wins via ko strikes 4:51 of the second round.

And now for the co-main event this was at 185lbs for the title

Pete "The Fixer" Alexander 9-2-0 vs Martinez Eluard 5-2-0

This one the big one for the 185lbs title not only that it managed to get fight of the night, the first round started with Alexander getting the takedown he then looked to soften up Eluard with strikes, he changed tactics and went for the submission not just once but 7 attempts good defence by Eluard, so Alexander went back to the GNP Alexander dominated that first round, the second round Alexander tried hard for a takedown failing twice but finally getting it, from hear Eluard tried two submissions and Alexander tried 5 but neither could sink it in properly, but Alexander did soften up his opponent with more strikes and dominating the second round to 2-0 to him, the third round Eluard looked annoyed with his performance in the first two rounds he come out with some nice shots, cutting Alexander with a right Alexander seemed to panic trying 4 takedown attempts but not getting them, Eluard knocked Alexander down and stood back and told him to get up, but when he did Alexander got the takedown maybe he should have jumped on him and tried to finish, from hear it looked like a submission match with 11 submission attempts between them, but Eluard dominated that round making it 2-1 going into the fourth, Eluard managed to get a knockdown early on in the fourth waving Alexander back up, this time Alexander couldn't get the takedown after some more strikes Eluard got another knockdown, this time when Alexander got up he was rocked he took another combo dropping him again, when he finally stood up this time it was only a matter of time before Eluard landed the knockout punch. Great fight and defiantly deserved fight of the night what a come back.

Result: Eluard wins via ko due to a punch 2:07 of the 4th round

Main event of the evening was at 170lbs

"Croc Boy" Shintaro Nomo 8-1-0 vs Silvean "Sniper" Maxiq 11-4-0

Maxiq come out swinging wildly missing with a lot of shots with Nomo countering with some shots, it was obvious that Maxiq was the aggressor in this one, Nomo was than happy to sit on the outside just chilling waiting for his chances, they soon come as he got a nice counter takedown and it was easy to see why he wanted this one down, first submission attempt and he gets it that one was over quick winning submission of the night, even tho it was the only submission win it was slick.

Result: Nomo win via kimura 0:43 of the first

And that's all from me for now not quite sure if you will be hearing from me or a new writer for the midweek event, I have a lot on my plate at the moment so have to step down but I'm very thankful to be apart of a great org, make sure you all tune in for the upcoming events this org is going far.

UNFC MW#7 LYNCH VS JITSU this will be held at Hayashi's Lounge - Tokyo as always with a capacity of 2000, with the last midweek event going as planned we have another brilliant line up for you all including the 205 title fight and let me tell you that is going to be a brilliant fight!

Starting the undercard we have the

1st Fight is at 205lbs

Daniel "Big Daddy" Crushman 0-0-0 vs Jose "Ice Warm" Vovchanchyn 1-3-0

Both guys looking for their first win in the org Crushman also making hi pro debut, he has wonderful Muay Thai and proficient wrestling so he might be looking to take this one into the clinch and work strikes from there, his opponent Vovchanchyn hasn't had much luck in the org so far he has lost all 3 of his fights, he really needs to get back to winning ways but being tko'd the last 3 fight may show that he has a weak chin.

2nd Fight is at 205lbs

Shaq ONeil 0-0-0 vs Ron "Like A Donkey" Jeremy 4-1-0

Jeremy was undefeated until his last fight which was his debut to the org where he lost via submission, but he has also got 4 submission wins himself so he may only have a blue belt but this guy has some slick submissions, his opponent ONeil hasn't had a fight yet but has exceptional boxing and also hold a blue belt, but looking at Jeremy's wins he will not want to go to ground with him ONeil's best option would be use his boxing to stay on Tyne outside.

3rd Fight is at 155lbs

Mateusz "Kouzi" Wiaz 2-4-0 vs Thomas "The Turtle" Malloy 2-3-0

Both guys trying to get the fight records back on track both guy have their only wins via submission so we could be in for a grappling match, however if Malloy doesn't change up his clothing and get a better attitude it could be an early night for him, he is under his third management so hopefully like the saying goes third time lucky but it's not going to well at the moment, Wiaz on the other hand is coming off of a loss but has kept the same manager and will be looking forward to an easy fight if his opponent doesn't get his moral up.

4th Fight at 265lbs

"Lionheart" Kevin Hall 3-1-0 vs Jedrzej "Banan" Kowalski 2-4-0

Hall new to the org looking to make his stamp on the 265 devision and show the others he's the real deal, but first he has to beat a strong opponent who has a fair share of his fights in the org with 2 losses and 1 win, some may think he is a stepping stone for the org but in his second bout in the org he showed his class getting a decision win, so this could go either way with two strong guys.

5th Fight is at 265lbs

Bruce Sun Tzu 0-3-0 vs Xu Halo 2-0-0

Wow wear to start with Tzu he's been knocked the f*** out 3 times in a row in the org, but he is now under another manager having 0-1-0 under him, while his opponent Halo has 2 wins via tko/ko, perfect opponent to put him against then another tko/ko to add to his victory, wrong Tzu has some amazing skills that will be undermined by his losses I believe that he could pull off his first victory, as he has great skills and a brilliant new manager that know what he is doing this fight could be a dark horse fight turning out to be a Great War.

Now onto the main card

1st Fight is at 205lbs

Mario Karlo 3-1-0 vs Simon Nilsson 6-2-0

First off Karlo having had all his fights in the org only has 1 loss which was his last fight, who he originally beat by split decision in the event before he lost via split decision the second time they met, so that only means one thing both those guys have to meet for a third battle but we will have to wait and see as his opponent tonight Nilsson, is having his second fight in the org his first didn't go to plan he lost via tko strikes, he does however have an impressive load of wins all via tko/ko, so with both guys coming off of losses they will want to turn it around on this event.

2nd Fight is at 265

"Gentle" Jack Byrne 6-2-0 vs Carrera "Assasin" Villamora 5-3-0

Byrne will feel so bad after his last loss as it was for the title he come so close but yet so far losing by tko, his opponent Villamora under new management was brought to the org and had an impressive 3-1-0 record in the org, all those wins and one loss coming by way of tko/ko showing he likes to stand and bang, with his wonderful boxing it's understandable why he prefers this kind of fight, this one should be interesting with a combined 8 wins by tko/ko and 5 losses by tko/ko it could turn out to be a test of who has the better chin.

3rd Fight is at 205lbs

Nikolay "Burdik" Burdyalov 5-3-0 vs Lefteris Papaioanou 2-0-0

These two both coming in off of wins in their last bouts in the org but that not the only thing they have in common, the two are both dominant in the boxing area with Burdyalov having exceptional boxing and his opponent Papaioanou has sensational boxing, so we could be in for a boxing match in 4oz gloves now that's going to hurt but that's not all the guys have, they do have good other skills so there not just one trick ponys this could be a great fight.

Now for the co-main event of the evening this Fight at 155lbs

Delphino "The Slippery Dolphin" Atlantis 8-2-0 vs Orange Joe 4-3-0

This one is a good old submission artist vs a knockout artist, Atlantis has 7 of his wins via submission and was the former 155 UNFC champion, he was unable to defend his title but will be looking to get that tittle shot again with his last two fight being wins, if he can make this his third win in a row who knows he might just earn that shot, but his opponent is a tough opponent who went on a 4 fight win streak in the org now that is no easy task, this org has some of the best fighters in it but that run stopped in his last bout, so he will be looking to get that winning streak going again this will be a great fight, with the winner one step closer to that title shot.

Now for the main event of the evening this fight is for the 205lbs title

Akeel Lynch 6-0-0 vs Jiu Jitsu 5-0-0

Now let me just start by saying these two do not no how to lose they have a combined record of 11-0-0, now that my friend Is some classy skills right there and how lucky we are to witness it, the champion Lynch is making his second title defence in the org, he won the title via decision against a strong opponent he then went on to his successful defence winning via tko, he faces a submission specialist hear tonight with all 5 of his wins coming by way of submission, the only problem is Jitsu has never submitted a brown belt before but then again he's never had the opportunity, all I can tell you for certain is someone has to taste delete for the first time tonight who will it be come take a look for your selfs and find out!

I hope you all like the sound of this card there is one fight that I'm sure you all are looking forward to that is the 205lbs title fight, with two undefeated fighters who will walk away the champion and stay undefeated tune in to find out.

Review

UNFC MW#7 LYNCH VS JITSU I thought that this would be a top event but it didn't make into the top 10 events the org has had and did not sell the 2000 capacity, however there was some great fights.

Starting the undercard we have the

1st Fight was at 205lbs

Daniel "Big Daddy" Crushman 0-0-0 vs Jose "Ice Warm" Vovchanchyn 1-3-0

We knew this one was going to be a stand up battle, and that is exactly what it was both guys throwing great strikes first off Crushman got caught with a nice hook that cut him, but he fired straight back with his own hook cutting Vovchanchyn, they did not stop there these two warriors kept coming forward and swinging it was only a matter of time before one of their chins would give out, Crushman landed a big head kick that knocked Vovchanchyn down he then waved him up, Vovchanchyn got up but was still wobbly and Crushman jumped forward and finished his opponent with punches.

Result: Crushman wins via ko punches 4:19 of the first round.

2nd Fight was at 205lbs

Shaq ONeil 0-0-0 vs Ron "Like A Donkey" Jeremy 4-1-0

ONeil making his debut come out swinging cutting Jeremy straight away, Jeremy tried landing some shots of his own but ONeil moved out of range and come back with his own strikes, working that cut over making it nastier ONeil started landing some nasty shots giving the ref no option but to jump in and stop the fight.

Result: ONeil wins via tko strikes 1:58 of the first round.

3rd Fight was at 155lbs

Mateusz "Kouzi" Wiaz 2-4-0 vs Thomas "The Turtle" Malloy 2-3-0

Wiaz showed exactly where he wanted this fight straight into the clinch, and he showed why he wanted the fight hear he dominated in the clinch landing strikes after strikes, he was very aggressive in the clinch none stop with his strikes landing some good strikes and dominating that first round, the second round didn't go to Wiaz's way Malloy managed to keep the fight on the outside landing some strikes and moving, Wiaz did manage to finally get the clinch but Malloy pulled guard and when the fight was stood up, Malloy landed some more strikes as Wiaz went for the clinch Malloy defiantly won the second round, it was all to play for in the last round Wiaz knew he had to take this one into the clinch early on and that's exactly what he did, landing some nice shots on the inside Malloy did manage to break the clinch but Wiaz got it back and landed more strikes, this won the fight for Wiaz for me stole it in the last round.

Result: Wiaz wins via decision

4th Fight was at 265lbs

"Lionheart" Kevin Hall 3-1-0 vs Jedrzej "Banan" Kowalski 2-4-0

This one did not last that long and no wonder Hall come out with some nice shots cutting Kowalski then landing some more strikes, it looked like Hall was going for the finish on the feet but then he took the fight down to the ground, Hall managed to get to the mount position and landed a nasty elbow then a few more strikes that finished the fight.

Result: Hall wins via tko strikes 1:49 of the first round.

5th Fight was at 265lbs

Bruce Sun Tzu 0-3-0 vs Xu Halo 2-0-0

Halo showing why he was undefeated he come out swinging cutting Tzu straight away, he then kept coming forward landing some nasty strikes rocking Tzu then knocking him clean out, not getting only the fastest fight of the night but wining ko of the night.

Result: Halo wins via ko strikes 0:51 of the first round.

Now onto the main card

1st Fight was at 205lbs

Mario Karlo 3-1-0 vs Simon Nilsson 6-2-0

This was one I was looking forward to it was always going to be a good fight, but I didn't expect it to be over this quick Karlo took the fight straight into the clinch, he landed some nice shots in the clinch and managed to keep it hear, Nilsson couldn't do anything he was just trying to escape the clinch, Karlo kept on softening his opponent up then rocking Nilsson Karlo kept up the strikes dropping Nilsson, Karlo jumped straight on him finishing the fight.

Result: Karlo wins via tko strikes 1:49 of the first round.

2nd Fight was at 265

"Gentle" Jack Byrne 6-2-0 vs Carrera "Assasin" Villamora 5-3-0

Villamora come out swinging but fair play to Byrne he used great foot work and good head movement to get out of the way, Byrne managed to get a lovely counter takedown from hear he looked to progress to mount, Villamora showed good grappling getting the better position back when his opponent passed, but Bryne was relentless and managed to get full mount failing with his first submission attempt, but he made sure he got the second submission attempt.

Result: Bryne wins via submission armbar 2:56 of the first round.

3rd Fight was at 205lbs

Nikolay "Burdik" Burdyalov 5-3-0 vs Lefteris Papaioanou 2-0-0

This one started off with a bang both guys coming out swinging with Burdyalov catching Papaioanou with a good combo dropping him and cutting him, Burdyalov followed him down and tried to finish with a submission trying 10 times but not being able to get it, but he did dominate that first round from start to finish. Second round was a stand up battle for most of it with both guys landing some nice shots, also both guys using some good footwork to avoid their opponents strikes, but yet again Burdyalov caught his opponent with a nice combo dropping and rocking Papaioanou, and making it 2-0 for him. The last round Papaioanou woke up and started getting the better of the strikes knocking Burdyalov down twice and rocking him, Papaioanou must know that he needed a finish but he left it to late winning the last round but loosing overall.

Result: Burdyalov wins via decision.

Now for the co-main event of the evening this Fight was at 155lbs

Delphino "The Slippery Dolphin" Atlantis 8-2-0 vs Orange Joe 4-3-0

This one started off as a grappling match with Atlantis getting the takedown but Joe was the one looking for the submission, but nothing happen the fight was stood up with Atlantis getting the takedown again, this time both tried for the submission with no success, bit of a boring first round but Atlantis will get the nod for that one. Second round Atlantis got the takedown again but this time Joe managed to get a reversal and got on top, Atlantis tried 5 submissions but failed while Joe landed some nice shots on the ground, winning him that round it was all to play for in the last round. And the same thing happened Atlantis got the takedown early but this time after 7 attempts he finally got the submission.

Result: Atlantis wins via submission armbar 4:40 of the last round

Now for the main event of the evening this fight was for the 205lbs title

Akeel Lynch 6-0-0 vs Jiu Jitsu 5-0-0

These two both being undefeated was going to be a great fight knowing that neither guy wanted that first loss, not only that tho there was the title on the line, surprisingly Lynch took the fight straight to the ground, Jitsu with all his wins coming via submission it was no wonder that he tried 10 attempts in the first round, but Lynch had very good defence and not only that he landed some nice GNP winning the first round. The second round Jitsu got the takedown this time and looked like he could be the dominate one, but Lynch managed to get the sweep after three failed submission attempts, Lynch nearly finished the fight getting full mount landing nasty GNP and even taking Jitsu's back and landing more strikes, Jitsu managed to get out and into Lynches guard but got swept straight away, Lynch finished the fight hear with some nice GNP dominating the second round to. Third round Lynch got the takedown and after defending some nice strikes managed to get him self to full mount, he laid down some nasty GNP rocking his opponent then finally finishing him with strikes.

AND STILL CHAMPION AKEEL LYNCH

Result: Lynch wins via tko strikes 4:20 of the third round.

We hope you enjoyed the midweek event and we hope to see you at this weekends event, hopefully it will be more exciting and have a little more entertainment for you with the fights, this event may not have had as good rating as some but was still a great event.

Up to 3000 people will be in attendance for UNFC 37: Cortes vs. Paskalev at the Hard Knocks arena in beautiful Tokyo, Japan.

The undercard is the place where legends begin and hope goes to die. It will kick off with two youngsters Kalle Palikka (4-2-0) and Frank Nada (1-0-0) just trying to prove that they are worth their place in the company. Genesis “The Prophet” Piper (2-1-0) will want to prove that Brent Brawler is not the only person he can defeat when he takes on Rookie Amateur (4-1-0). Then Slip “Lion” Cahn (5-7-0) and “Freaky Friday” Jimmy Johns (4-3-1) will both being looking for the opportunity to reestablish themselves in the constantly shifting lightweight division.

Boyd McGuire (3-2-2) has somehow managed to draw two of his last three bouts but will want to go one better against Fransino “Pitbull” Tirta (5-6-0) who has lost six of his last seven. Finally two men on winning streaks Albert Hoffman (5-2-0) and George “Dubya” Bush (2-2-0) will go into their bout knowing that another win may well turn them into contenders.

Jorge Domingo (15-4-0) has found the transition from The Island a struggle. The technical puncher has gone 2 and 2 (0-1 in the UNFC) since his move to Tokyo, and he needs a big win if he is going to maintain the reputation he has built for himself. His opponent Lefteris Papaioanou (4-1-0) would love to have the eminence possessed by Domingo. A win over the former Chaos champion would go a long way to achieving that desire.

Can Papaioanou upset his more illustrious opponent? The simple answer is yes. It is extremely likely that this will be a strength vs. strength match up as both men love to use their fists and Domingo is not known for his one-shot knockout power. If anything, Papioanou should be known for such destructive feats but his calling card is always going to be his amazing chin. His losing effort to Nikolay Burdyalov will always be remembered for the way he kept surviving despite going down in each round. However fans should not forget that Domingo does possess a significant experience advantage and that has been seen to bamboozle youth on many a occasion. It should be a fascinating fight.

Some fighters are highly respected but never quite seem to get it together for long enough to challenge for a title. This statement could be true for both VG “Valyok” Beloff (5-2-0) and Ricardo “Demolition” Gaarlandt (11-4-0) who go toe to toe at heavyweight.

The noticeable size difference between the two combatants will add an interesting dynamic to the fight. Beloff will start the night (as the equivalent of) two weight sizes bigger than Gaarlandt. The challenge for “Demolition” will be for him to get inside and wear the bigger man down. This is a greater challenge as Beloff has shown a great understanding of the clinch game, where he has known to suffocate smaller men in the past. Some wonder why Gaarlandt doesn’t try to cut that little extra weight and fight at 205. Maybe another loss here will persuade him to do so.

Martine Dincht (6-0-0) admitted his astonishment that he was unable to finish his opponent when he debuted for the UNFC. He still made a big enough impression to catapult himself into the middleweight title picture where he faces the former champion Bruce Wayne (7-2-0). Whether facing the newly dethroned fighter should be considered a good career move is another question entirely.

Observers have been quick to point out that the variety of Wayne’s striking far exceeds that of Dincht. This does put the unbeaten fighter at a bit of a quandary. He could take Wayne down and force him to be more thoughtful of his kicks but that would require him taking the fight to an area that neither fighter has really experienced with any great success. Alternatively Dincht could eliminate the danger by taking the fight into the clinch. This is an area where he has excelled with in the past. Still you have to think Wayne knows there is a good chance of this happening and will be prepared for such eventualities. Nobody will be too surprised if the unbeaten record goes after this one is over.

The UNFC welcomes a newcomer into its midst when Ondrej “The International Killer” Rigo (7-2-0) introduces Terry Opdauhl (7-0-0) to the company.

Coming into such a big company and immediately gaining a spot in the co-main event is a big coo for Opdauhi. Few have been blessed with such an honour since the organisation’s early days. However this comes with a huge amount of pressure. This could be a important opening for Rigo, who is one of the longest serving members of UNFC’s middleweight division, as he does look like the underdog in this one.

Some diehards might try and defend Rigo’s status as favourite as he has fought at this level many times before but most appreciate that Opdauhi looks like a special talent. His seven knockouts in seven fights is good evidence. Better is the fact that each and every one of his opponents were considerably more experienced than he. Opdauhi has just being dominant each and every time. Rigo will have to do everything in his power to drag this one to the floor if he is to stand a chance. How big a chance is a question a lot of observers would like the answer to. Opdauhi has never really had to survive someone forcing him to defend from his back. Potentially Rigo has the skills to be that man, but no one really expects him to survive the stand up.

Remarkably the main event of the evening, a title fight for the UNFC Featherweight Championship, also welcomes a debutant.

Why you may ask? Incumbent champion Ferdinand Cortes (16-0-1) has blown out the entire division and no one could make a viable argument to get another chance. What makes him so special is his ability to make opponents miss and then punish them from an angle that they never seen before. It is like a dance where one partner ends up relieved of their senses at the end.

Arnost “Honey Badger” Paskalev (13-3-0) is tasked with quelling the champion’s brilliance. Many will know him from his time in New York where he never received a title opportunity despite a 10 fight win streak. He comes into this off two more impressive wins and will want to right any perceived wrongs that he may have come his way with another well executed submission.

The fight is expected to be a rather traditional striker vs. grappler affair where finding the opponents timing will be critical. Paskalev knows he must take Cortes to the ground if he is to stand a reasonable chance and Cortes isn’t stupid. The champion simply isn’t going to let “Honey Badger” have his way and endanger his belt or his unbeaten record. This may lead to the opening moments of this fight being a little cagey. Whichever fighter finds their opponents rhythm first is going to have a big advantage and may even dictate the fight from that moment on.

Paskalev may well be Cortes’s toughest challenge to date but it would be a surprise if the champ doesn’t pass this challenge with flying colours.

There was barely an empty seat in the house when UNFC 37: Cortes vs. Paskalev visited Hard Knocks Tokyo. The crowd was treated to two enthralling main events and a smattering of big knockouts along the way.

The undercard was full of definitive finishes that really got the crowd into the action. Frank Nada (2-0-0) opened the card with a second round knockout of Kalle Paikka (4-3-0) that proved he has dynamite in his hands. Clearly inspired by what came before Genesis “The Prophet” Piper (3-1-0) came up with his own big finish just 35 seconds into his fight with Rookie Amateur (4-2-0). Then Slip “Lion” Cahn (5-8-0) suffered the biggest humiliation in MMA when he tapped to the strikes of “Freaky Fast” Jimmy Johns (5-3-1).

Somehow Boyd McGuire (4-2-2) didn’t manage to finish Francino “Pitbull” Tirta (5-7-0) at the end of the second round of their encounter. Sadly for Tirta, the break was not long enough to recover. McGuire loaded up with one big punch and knocked his opponent for six within 10 seconds of the third. The final undercard fight looked like it was going to be a quick submission victory for Albert Hoffman (5-3-0) but George “Dubya” Bush (3-2-0) escaped and, rather magically, finished his opponent in the same scramble. Hoffman literally didn’t know what hit him.

Once again Lefteris Papaionou (5-1-0) showed an intoxicating mix of a great chin and huge power in his come back from behind victory over Jorge Domingo (15-5-0). Domingo executed his game plan beautifully for much of the first two rounds. He took Papaionou into the clinch and proceeded to wear down the stronger, younger man. However Domingo was warned early in the second when a flashing combination dropped him to the canvas.

Visibly tired entering the third, Domingo could not get his hands on Papaionou like he had previously and the Cypriot Papaionou started to go to work with more freedom. Clearly his shots were hurting as Domingo desperately dived in for clinch after clinch. Papaionou timed one of these rushes perfectly and used Domingo’s own momentum to land a huge counter left. Aside from a few wild swipes, the fight was over and Papaionou took the biggest scalp of his career to date.

Ricardo “Demolition” Gaarlandt (12-4-0) danced around VG “Valyok” Beloff (5-3-0) to secure a one sided decision.

Speed was really the deciding factor in this one as Gaarlandt was able to pepper his much larger opponent with shots inside and then dart out of range. Beloff did have some early success in the clinch but really caused no damage. However this clearly got inside Beloff’s mind who proceeded to grasp for Gaarlandt at every opportunity from that point after. This just played into his adversary’s hands. By the end, Beloff was lumbering after his opponent and leaving himself completely open to whatever strikes Gaarlandt threw. The last round was so one-sided that it drew a 10-8 from the judges.

Obviously ecstatic with his victory, Gaarlandt must also realise that he threw a lot of his biggest shots at Beloff who didn’t appear to register them at all. His lack of size is still going to be an issue in the heavyweight division.

Rarely does the perceived wisdom of the public become truth. Fighters examine their opponents far more thoroughly than the public and they are always looking for ways to exploit a discovered weakness. Yet Bruce Wayne (8-2-0) bestowed the first loss of Martine Dincht’s (6-1-0) career in exactly the way everyone expected it to happen.

The key to the fight was Wayne’s willingness to use kicks and the distance he was able to create due to that longer strike distance. It completely nullified Dincht’s dangerous jab and that sabotaged the rest of his arsenal. Any time Dincht looked to be getting into the fight, Wayne rolled away and reset himself at his preferred fight range. This control precipitated the fights end as Dincht was forced to desperately wade in to make contact and Wayne was able to throw a rather pretty hook that caught his young opponent flush. It was a dramatic way to end a fight that was so bizarrely close to the world’s preconception.

The co-main event of the evening ended in a highly controversial decision victory for UNFC debutant “Ludacris” Terry Opdauhl (8-0-0). Opponent Andrej “The International Killer” Rigo (7-3-0) was obviously furious with the decision and Opdauhl didn’t endear himself to the UNFC audience with claims that he had in fact dominated the fight.

Rigo couldn’t have executed his game plan much better. He knew he stood little chance standing with a dangerous finisher like Opdauhl so he brought the fight to the floor in every round. Rio proceeded to be the far busier of the two and held top position for the majority of the opening two stanzas. Nearly everyone agreed that Opdauhl needed the big knockout if he was going to walk away with this fight. Again the fight ended up on the floor but this time Opdauhl pulled a well timed switch from a loose arm bar to end up in Rigo’s guard. He did proceed to side control over the next 4 minutes but barely threw a shot in anger. If anything Rigo was the more dangerous as he was still actively looking for the submission from his back.

Amongst everyone at ringside there was almost unanimous agreement this would be scored 29-28 to Rigo with a few even suggesting he had won the third. When the result was read out in favour of Opdauhi, their was stunned silence. Another lesson learnt in the ‘this is why you don’t leave it in the judges hands’ school of hard luck stories.

Lets be honest, you have skipped to this part haven’t you?

In a huge shock that has resonated around the entire UNFC world, long time featherweight champion Ferdinand Cortes (16-1-1) was defeated by the Bulgarian Arnost “Honey Badger” Paskalev (14-3-0).

It was no easy task for either man. A 25 minute battle of will where Paskalev did just enough to dislodge the champion. The first round set the tone for the entire fight with Paskalev diving in immediately for a takedown and working the champion with grinding shots. Nothing that could really be described as hurtful but enough for the round to be clearly dominated. Cortes was clearly better prepared in the second so he was able to control with stand up early and then reversed Paskalev to find a favourable position when the fight hit the ground. The third followed suit despite Cortes giving up another early takedown.

Most thought the champion would motor on from this point but Paskalev struck back. Cortes wound up for a big shot from the opening bell that was easily countered into a takedown. Paskalev dominated the full five minutes and we were down to a championship fight where everything was on dependant on one final round.

Both men may have been exhausted but the glint of determination showed the importance of being ‘the man’ at 145. Cortes came out swinging and Paskalev tried to time him. Lots of effort was expended with little result until a big hook unbalanced Cortes and opened him up to be taken down. However Paskalev never really maintained full control and Cortes escaped back to the feet. Again the stand off ensued and again it was Cortes who blinked first allowing Paskalev to find the fight-defining double leg for the last time.

Pandemonium erupted when the referee raised the challengers hand and Cortes was no longer the champuon. There are now so many questions that need to be answered. Will Cortes get a rematch? Can Paskalev repeat this level of performance every fight? Does this open up the division to all Cortes’s vanquished foes? Only time will tell but featherweight just got really interesting!

In partnership with Big Bear Brazil 160Q, Unleash Fighting Championship presents UNFC 38: Camacho vs. Takayanagi.

The undercard launches with a Fight of the Night rematch from UNFC 28. Sebastian “Silent” Kasprzyk (3-6-0) took the initial contest so Lias Kota (2-3-0) will want to even the score. Raf Camora (1-0-0) flies in from New York to take on a fellow UNFC debutant Johan Pahlm (2-2-0) at lightweight. Then Eric “Pornstache” Skinner (2-2-0) continues his remarkable run of never fighting in the same city twice. The Canadian native will need every bit of that experience to stuff the superior wrestling of Gobleedy “Lazer Tron” Gooker (3-1-0).

Once again the immortal battle of wrestling verses jiu jitsu will commence when Grayson Crakehall (4-1-0) and Ching Lalalalalalng (6-6-0) do battle. Finally, “Happy Face” Big J Smiles (4-5-0) will look to continue his winning streak against the man who started it, The Flash (3-3-0). This one definitely looks like a real grudge match.

Carefully managing a young fighter’s career is one of the great challenges of modern MMA. Fighters need to be so well rounded to really compete at the top level but also need the experience in the cage to apply training skills to fights. Both Uthe Haas (2-1-0) and Dominik “The Crusher” Kokoszka (5-2-0) have spent their early careers on this tight rope and are now blossoming into real contenders.

The issue for both men to know what to expect from the other. Kokoszka displayed great hand speed in his last two bouts but that was against the same opponent who has been overwhelmed subsequently. Haas split the highly rated Duke Datsik open like an overly ripened peach but that could be as much to do with his opponents physiology as his own skill. This fight will tell us a huge amount of about either man with the winner surely becoming an instant favourite to be a lightweight championship contender in the very near future. Who that may be is even confusing the bookies in Vegas.

Royce Gracier (7-1-0) delivered a smothering clinch that no man could escape in his first seven fights but was undone for the first time last time out. Shown to be uncomfortable against the long jab and flawed on the ground, he will be desperate to show that he is a more rounded fighter than people now think. Miles Monroe (7-4-0) will certainly offer that challenge in abundance.

Many will remember that Monroe actually started his career with a reputation of being a ground guy. He was known for being an above average jiu jitsu fighter who lacked the wrestling to bring the fight to his domain. Having to adapt to the striking game, Monroe appears to have found a real love for knocking people senseless with big power shots. Therefore Monroe incapsulates everything that Gracier is believed to be poor against. Gracier couldn’t ask for a better chance to prove his critics wrong but you have to believe that Monroe is eyeing up that chin to see if the detractors opinions are true.

Two fighters who must be increasingly infuriated with their careers get to take out that frustration on each other when Nikolay “Burdik” Burdyalov (8-5-0) and Rick “Eddy” Cricket (10-3-0) face off at 205.

Cricket may be a relatively new face to the UNFC but he is a classic case of a fighter who just misses out when it really matters. His only three losses have come in championship matches or, as in the case of his UNFC debut, a number one contenders fight. Burdyalov has been the nearly man of the UNFC light heavyweight division for a long time. He holds wins over two former champions but has never quite made it to the the top of the show. This fight will catapult the winner back into championship mix but the loser may well fall into the unenviable position of gatekeeper.

Takuji “Devil” Kawashima (11-3-0) is a highly unorthodox heavyweight. Where most in this division are looking to trade strikes, “Devil” relies on timing big takedowns and violent ground and pound to end his fights. It is inarguable that he has been highly successful with these tactics due to many big guys simply panicking when they are put on their backs. What Kawashima must now show is that he can do this to the best fighters in the division. Those who are going to defend as stoutly on their back as anywhere else.

In Vidar Nord (9-3-0), Kawashima will be getting his chance.

Nord is fresh of an opportunity at the heavyweight title but ultimately came up short against the unbeaten champion. This should not discredit Nord’s claim as being a top fighter though. He has beaten some of the biggest names in Japan and succeeded with a flair that can only be describing as breathtaking. He will surely be the strong favourite going in with Kawashima as he must be confident that his extensive wrestling background will be enough to control “Devil’s” desire to force the fight to the floor. If this proves to be true, not even Kawashima himself would deny that Nord is very likely to have his way. Still, it should not be forgotten that even Nord has not fought someone quite as persuasive in wrestling as Kawashma and “Devil” has nothing to lose.

Without being cruel to Meguru Takayanagi (7-4-0), most fans were looking past this lightweight title fight in anticipation of a super fight between two weight champion Hector “Macho” Camacho (11-1-0) and Ferdinand Cortes. Of course this went up in smoke at UNFC 37 when Coates suffered a surprise defeat and will now be concentrating on recapturing his featherweight title.

This is likely to be bad news for Takayanagi as Camacho’s focus will now be entirely on the challenger and cementing his legacy at his natural 155.

It is extremely difficult to see past the champion when considering the winner. His stand up has been so sweet over the last few fights that he might as well have let his opponents have a couple of free swings to make it fair. This has been coupled with one of the best takedown defences around that has seen less than 20% of attempts land successfully while in the UNFC. This allows Camacho to open up with flashy combinations that stun opponents into letting their guard drop. How Takayanagi is going to counter this is almost unfathomable.

So what does Takayanagi have in his favour? He has certainly proved capable of finding submissions against good quality opposition and that may concern the one triumphed as “Macho”. The champ has been on the floor so rarely we really don’t know how good he actually. There is only so much credence given to reports out of training camp who are naturally trying to hype their fighter’s up. Also, Takayanagi has been fighting at lightweight consistently while Comacho has been up capturing the welterweight title. The extra muscle mass needed to fight at the higher weight division will need to come off and done improperly could drain the champion.

These may look like small mercies to clutch to, and Camacho will be the heavily backed in the markets, but after UNFC 37 we know that anything can happen in a championship fight.

Amazingly, every single fight at UNFC 38: Camacho vs. Takayanagi was kept out of the hands of the judges. This evoked the near-capacity crowd into ever increasing hysterics that made the main event one of the most deafening in Hard Knock’s - Tokyo recorded history.

Lias Kota (2-4-0) was left with one of the nastier cuts in recent memory in his defeat to Sebastian “Silent” Kasprzyk (4-6-0). There really was no choice but for the doctor to step in and stop the fght. Johan Pahlm (3-2-0) landed a dynamic combination which finished with a spinning back fist to hand Raf Camora (1-1-0) his first loss. Owner of the highly competitive shortest fight of the night competition was Eric “Pornstache” Skinner (3-2-0). He landed a nice hook on GoBleedy “Lazer Tron” Gooker (3-2-0) before overwhelming the fallen Mexican with a series of punches that forced the referee to wave the contest off.

The only submission of the night went to Ching Lalalalalalng (7-6-0) who caught the heavily favoured Grayson Crakehall (4-2-0) in a guillotine. Everyone wondered if the big wrestler could land his ground and pound against a top jiu jitsu guy without getting in trouble. Apparently the answer was ‘no he couldn’t’. Finally, The Flash (3-4-0) was brought back down to human speed when he was captured in “Happy Face” Big J Smiles’s (5-5-0) clinch. Several times The Flash was rocked by big knees until he crumpled to the floor in the most beleaguered manner.

Uthe Haas (2-2-0) and Dominik “The Crusher” Kokoszka (6-2-0) had a dramatic back and forth contest that really announced the beginning of the main card. A cautious opening jumped into life when Haas pulled guard. He may have been on the bottom but the young Brit was incredibly active looking to exploit any opening. Once, maybe even twice, it looked like Haas may have had something but Kokoszka pulled away at the last moment. With a minute or so left the fight was back on its feet and Haas’s best chance had slipped away.

Saying that, Haas surprised everyone by being really efficient against Kokoszka when they were standing. He used good movement and leg kicks to frustrate the Polish fighter who was looking to land a big bomb. A few clipped Haas but nothing landed sweetly. It looked like Haas might be able to dance through the fight and win on points.

This all changed with one inadvertent leg kick. Haas’s shin landed flush into the nether regions of Kokoszka. The slap followed by the squeal was audible in a room that was silent for the one and only time that night. The big Pole hit the deck with many speculating that the strike would end the contest. Clearly shaken, Kokoszka eventually rose back to his feet with the assistance of both the timeout and the second to third round interval.

Despite apologises coming from the other side of the cage, Kokoszka’s anguish turned into visible rage. “The Crusher” assumed his nickname and landed a titanic uppercut as the third began. He must have embedded every ounce of pain he had felt in that strike, as it was released with a god like fury. Haas’s lights were out on the rise and was only really woken up by the sudden stop off the fall.

It’s a big win for Kokoszka as it puts him right back in the hunt at 155.

Royce Gracier (7-2-0) slipped to his second defeat in a row. As expected by many, he wasn’t able to get to grips with Miles Monroe (8-4-0) who peppered him with strikes from the outside. There is no doubting Gracier’s heart as he kept coming forward. This pressure forced Monroe into a few sloppy shots but it was only going to be a matter of time before he landed something significant.

This came in the form of a straight left that connected with a leaping Gracier who may or may not have been looking for some kind of superman punch. The combined force of the two actions burst Gracier’s nose. Gracier tried desperately to fight through the pain but his eyes were closing and he didn’t appear to be able to catch his breath. It was a mercy when Monroe landed a sweet uppercut that gave the referee an excuse to jump in. Again to Gracier’s credit, he wanted to fight on, but it was the right decision for all involved.

Something clearly lit a fire under Nikolay “Burdik” Burdyalov (9-5-0) as he blitzed Rick Cricket (10-4-0) in well under a minute.

There is not a huge amount to be said about this one. The first 30 seconds saw the two men feel each other out and suddenly “Burdik” was on the attack. In the blink of an eye the referee is waving the whole thing off. It was only after Cricket was brought round did the full devastation of the blow become apparent. Maybe the talk of Burdyalov’s title aspirations being over were spoken too soon.

Methodically scouting an opponent is key to being a top fighter in any organisation. Clearly Vidar Nord (10-3-0) is becoming a real artisan in such alchemy as he seemed to know Takuji “Devil” Kawashima’s (11-4-0) every move.

This lead to a contest that really resembled an all human version of the matador and the bull. The notable exception being that the muletta was replaced with a series of stiff punches that may have rocked the comparison’s real life counterpart. “Devil” did achieve his goal once, about half way through the first round, but this did not result in anything but more frustration. More importantly, it appeared that Kawashima had exhausted himself with all his failed takedown attempts.

Nord seemed empowered by the success of the first and boldly engaged Kawashima in the clinch. He pinned his foe against the cage and proceeded to land deep, digging hooks that took the last bit of life out of Kawashima. You cannot deny “Devil’s” heart as he tried for one last desperate takedown but this just opened a gap he could not exploit. Instead, Nord unleashed a torrent of strikes that finished with a classic uppercut that shut Kawashima’s lights off.

Surely, this sets up Nord for a second opportunity to capture the heavyweight belt.

What can be said about the lightweight title fight apart from ‘well, that was brutally efficient’.

Hector “Macho” Camacho (12-1-0) dispatched his challenger Meguru Takayanagi (7-5-0) in less than two minutes without his opponent landing a meaningful strike. The opening leg kick, straight, leg combination had Takayanagi back peddling and allowed the two weight champion to swarm. An overhand right knocked Takayanagi to the floor but he popped straight back up. Unfortunately his rising head was on a collision course with the downward momentum of an axe kick. Takayanagi was not getting back up from this one.

Takayanagi must now go away and develop his game further. The championship experience will set him up brightly for the future.

Camacho called out the 145 pound champion Arnost Paskalev after the fight. Rumours were that he wanted the fight sooner rather than later but it takes considerable time to put together such a big fight. Whether that happens at featherweight or lightweight, that could be a fight for the ages. Lets hope that one happens.

There is always a special buzz when the UNFC does one of its fortnightly Saturday spectaculars. The weekend crowd is always a little rowdy and they will surely raise the roof for UNFC 39: Bryggare vs. West

The card opens with Duke Datsik (0-2-0), who has so much expectation on his shoulders yet has not a win to his name. He will fight Summa Cum (0-0-0) who has never stepped into a cage before but is thought to possess dangerous hands. Then Reggie “Lion” Roar (1-2-0) and Clinton “The Phantom” Chamberlain (2-3-0) will like their chances of breaking their losing streak at the expense of the other. Of course only one will get that pleasure.

Clay Moore (0-0-0) has made a name for himself on the Australian amateur circuit and now has the opportunity to prove he can do it at the professional level. He gets the far more experienced Baron “Damnation” Suzaski (4-4-1) as a stiff opening test. Expect an on-rush of people taking their seats slightly earlier than normal as many will want to see Jaako Turkinen (1-0-0). The powerful wrestler has already made quite an impression at featherweight and will hope he can maximise this populist fever against journeyman “Handsome” Henry HuaHua (4-4-0).

Few debutants with a below .500 record have brought as much as excitement to the UNFC as Bernhard “The Bear” Adelhard (3-4-0). This veteran of the third ITFL season has fought some of best up and coming prospects in the world and come away from the experience with a better record than should be rightly expected.

Welcoming Adelhard to Unleash is the lightweight contender Tournament Winner (5-2-0) who has only been beaten by champion Hector Camacho since joining the company. This would be a daunting challenge for any normal fighter but “The Bear” is highly unlikely to feel much of an intimidation factor considering the calibre of competition he has already fought. However this is unlikely to perturb Winner either. He will be confident that he can land some big shots on the newcomer. Most are expecting Adelhard to take this to the floor early and secure the submission but don’t be surprised if this one is far more competitive that that.

Expect a frantic fifteen minutes when Viktor Tsoi (7-3-0) and Alex Alvarez (5-3-0) clash at featherweight. These two are highly skilled across every facet of mixed martial arts and will surely probe all avenues of possible success in the hopes of victory. Their great cardio allows them to go non-stop for every second which should hopefully lead to an action-packed fight that never has a dull moment. The one unfortunate issue for both men is that they are cursed with a lack of natural power. This has derailed both against tough competition. In this case Tsoi and Alvarez are very much mirrors of each other so they may feel a little more free to fire bigger shots without fear of reprisal. However it is highly likely that this one will be decided on the judges score cards.

One of the many unfortunate fighters caught up in the mayhem of WarZone suddenly closing was David “Boom” Schneider (13-1-0). The powerful grappler will make his debut in the UNFC against “The Modern Day Messiah” Malcolm Mitchell (12-5-0) with the winner getting the next shot at two weight champion Hector Camacho.

This should be a really good striker verses grappler affair. Mitchell has shown excellent hand speed and great takedown defence since joining Unleash and has run through the division after going through a difficult acclimatising process. He would have surely had a shot already had it not been for Camacho’s other commitments. Yet he can never claim to have met a wrestler as dominant as Schneider. His submissions are often quoted as his strength but it may well be his control that is his real key. It is really hard to see Mitchell escaping if it hits the deck. One thing is for sure, this has ‘fight of the night candidate’ written all over it.

Your co-main event is headlined by the always popular Alex The Lion (14-6-0) who has a tough test against up and comer Jake Vos (8-1-0).

We all know what we will get from The Lion. He will throw down with any one stupid enough to stand with him and take his punishment as a badge of honour. Those who do get on top of him also know they have to put him away as he has the heart to fight through pain and is dangerous until the referee waves the fight off.

This makes The Lion the perfect challenge for Vos. We all know that he is a very capable ground fighter that can win from any angle when down there. However he needs to show that he can stand, for however short a period, with a properly dangerous striker. It is a must if he is going to prove he is worthy of a shot at the title. Of course this is a huge risk for the young man as he could find himself dropped by someone who is considered less talented. However the reward is the loud proclamation that he is ready to be a star.

There is a dark cloud hanging over the middleweight title fight as there is a real possibility that neither champion Arto “Hurdler” Bryggare (9-2-0) or challenger “The Wasp” Wayde West (11-4-0) will make it to Tokyo on time.

Both fighters are based in Northern Europe where bad weather has grounded many aeroplanes and left both men desperately trying to make alternative arrangements. It looks like West has managed to find a private flight out of London but so far there is no news from the Bryggate camp.

Assuming the fight goes ahead, it will be a fascinating contrast of striking that dominates the show. Bryggare throws more punches per minute than anyone on the UNFC roster. This high volume allows him to bully opponents into constant defence until he slips in a big punch that is often enough to finish the fight. This is unlikely to bother West at all. He hasn’t traditionally thrown anything that doesn’t have the potential to be a knockout punch. This inactivity has often lulled opponents into a sense of supremacy that is then cruelly taken away after they are awoken.

It will be of great interest to all to see if Bryggate’s pressure will nullify West’s big power offence or if it will be the champion who has his tactics shown up. Although this might not be a true representation if these two do arrive late in Japan. Bryggare’s tactics are heavily cardio dependant and will surely be curbed if he is still jet lagged from the long flight.

Maybe this is the rare occasion where the challenger is the favourite for the belt.

Unleash’s passionate fan base paid all 20 fighters great respect throughout the entirety of UNFC 39: Bryggare vs. West at the near sold out Hard Knocks - Tokyo. It was a reminder to everyone how amazing Japanese fans are.

The undercard started with Duke Datsik (1-2-0) finally getting into the win column by handing Summa Cum (0-1-0) a defeat on his debut. Then Reggie “Lion” Roar (1-3-0) dominated his fight with Clinton “The Phantom” Chamberlain (3-3-0) only to be caught by a one-two out of nowhere. This was spookily similar to the first fight between the two men which also ended with Chamberlain on top. One moment of true quality was enough to give Baron “Damnation” Suzaski (5-4-1) the win over Clay Moore (0-1-0). “Damnation’s” beautifully timed rolling hook was in stark contrast with the rest of the fight which had the fans sounding their disapproval from early on.

Jaako Turkinen (2-0-0) once again stoked the fire of his hype-train with another one-sided annihilation. His opponent “Handsome” Henry HuaHua (4-5-0) wasn’t given the chance to land anything remotely telling during the entire fight but it his to the Mexican’s credit that he survived the first round.

A previously unannounced fight would round off the undercard. So angered was UNFC 38 loser Grayson Crakehall (5-2-0) at his own performance, he requested a fight as soon as possible. UNFC newcomer Tyson Niel (4-3-0) stepped up to take the challenge and looked good in the opening minutes. Some spectators even wondered if Crakehall had made a terrible mistake. However the big wrestler then took over with a nicely timed double leg and proceeded to work through his frustrations by repeatedly dropping bombs on Niel’s unprotected head. Needless to say this one was over before too long and Crakehall reaffirmed his position as a top featherweight.

Shuddering leg kicks were the difference between Tournament Winner (5-3-0) and Bernhard “The Bear” Adelhard (4-4-0) with the latter using this underrated weapon with devastating efficiency.

The fact that the fight was exclusively fought on the feet surprised many. Adelhard was believed to be a submission master but the newcomer demonstrated that he is more than comfortable in the striking game. It wasn’t all one way traffic. Adlehard took some big shots from Winner who displayed a clinical jab early on. This danger was steadily averted as the leg kicks started to accumulate until Winner was barely putting up any offence by the end of the first. This allowed all of “The Bear’s” experience to come to the fore and he started to open up with combinations that knocked Winner silly. The end was coming but Winner hung on far longer than any one could rightly expect. Eventually Winner was relieved of his mission via a sharp straight that bisected his guard with unerring accuracy.

No doubt everyone at 155 watch that and now know a new shark has entered the deep water of the lightweight division. Only time will tell if Adelhard is capable of being the most dangerous of them all.

Alex Alvarez (6-3-0) took a nervy decision victory over Viktor Tsoi (7-4-0) in a match up that was high on suspense but low on action. No one can be sure if the pre-fight talk around each fighter’s lack of knockout power was a factor, but it was clear that both men wanted to drag the fight to the ground. The issue was that neither man was willing to give up his back. This lead to a stalemate situation where no one was willing to commit incase they were drawn off-balance.

Much credit must be given to the crowd at this point. Many audiences would have got on the back of the fighters. Instead they seemed to appreciate the chess-like complexity of the positional game was being enacted in front of them.

Each man took one of the opening two stanzas via one decisive takedown which elevated the pressure further for the final five minutes. The intensity of the situation seemed to get to Tsoi that little bit more and Alvarez was able to take advantage with the most definitive round of the contest, although neither can ever claim to have had the other man in genuine trouble at any point.

Afterwards Alvarez showed real confidence that he can build from this big win and hoped it would lead him up the division. Surely he will need look for the finish more aggressively if he is really going to succeed in that task.

UNFC debutant David “Boom” Schneider (14-1-0) affirmed his potential with a dramatic submission victory late in the first round over “The Modern Day Messiah” Malcolm Mitchell (12-6-0).

Australian Schneider stood up to an early onslaught from Mitchell where he showed a much improved strike defence compared to his WarZone days. However this didn’t translate to an offensive threat so Mitchell was able to dictate how the two engaged with surprising freedom. Whether this was a ploy from “Boom” is unclear but he startled everyone with a decisive takedown that was completely out of the blue.

Despite manfully defending his position, Mitchell must have known he was in deep trouble. He held his own for full two minutes, only to give up his back with a minute to go. Schneider looked to be working for the rear naked choke until Mitchell somehow escaped at the last moment. The opportunity looked lost and Mitchell noticeably relaxed. This was a critical error as Schneider was able to slip into side control and find the kimura hold in one fluid movement. Mitchell must have only known that there were just a few seconds left to go yet he no choice but to tap. Even a second longer could have resulted in a broken arm.

A big win for Schneider but some may still fancy a go at him on his feet.

The result of the co-main event of the evening was never in doubt as Jake Vos (9-1-0) bulldozed over Alex The Lion (14-7-0) to set himself up with a chance at the UNFC’s featherweight championship.

The Lion came out swinging and looked desperate to gain any early advantage. Vos quickly took stock of the situations and succeeded in scoring the quick takedown. Perhaps the only surprise was that Vos failed to finish the fight quickly. The rapidly rising fighter kept looking for a fancy finishing technique that were never going to work against a wily veteran like The Lion. Some even wondered if Vos had given up a golden opportunity when the round came to an end.

Clearly Vos’s corner had a similar opinion and a expletive driven tirade from his cornerman seemed to refocus the Iowan. The Lion stood no chance as he went crashing to the floor and, before he could could mount a defence, he was in the unenviable position of having a far superior grappler on his back. It was only a matter of time before Vos sunk in the choke that forced the end of the encounter. Now Vos will turn his focus to Arnost Paskalev in a potentially breathtaking grappling showdown.

With all the travel chaos that surrounded the UNFC 39’s main event, no one was quite sure how Arto “Hurdler” Bryggare (9-3-0) and “The Wasp” Wayde West (12-4-0) would perform. What they gave the crowd was a true epic.

Bryggare controlled the fight from the outset and used his high tempo style to get in West’s face. The challenger may have known what was coming but he still looked impotent to stop him. West became cornered on several occasions and was forced to soak up a few blows before being able to separate. This would be the story of the fight as again and again Bryggare would corral West against the cage and score big with the judges.

Most opponents would have succumbed to this onslaught. West nearly did in the middle of the third when a jab to the body folded “The Wasp” straight into an uppercut, hook combination. Clearly hurt, West hid behind his wonderful guard that parried the follow up assault which gave him just enough time to recover. This seemed to invigorate West. He was still force backwards by Bryggare but at least now he was finding a bit of offence on the breaks. This was still not enough to steal any rounds as the two men entered the fifth with the champion clearly four rounds ahead.

Much to Bryggare’s credit, he showed no sign in changing his game plan as he once again was on the front foot at the start of the fifth. He cut the ring off as he had all fight but then found his opponent ready to throw simultaneously with him. Clearly West had been told he had nothing to lose and the two went at it for a solid twenty seconds. Both men’s chin were exposed during the whole exchange. Critically it was Bryggare who was clipped first and “Hurdelr” was sent to the floor. West scrambled after his falling opponent and delivered an almighty diving thrust that landed right on the button.

Against all odds a new champion was crowned. The crowd went nuts. Both camps went nuts. Anyone who didn’t clearly shouldn’t have been there. In the aftermath, West walked away an unlikely winner with many asking if Bryggare had been stupid to risk such an exchange when in such control. Opinions will be divided over that subject but one thing everyone will agree on is that they would like to see these two go at it again.
