You say that my guy is so much better and all that but if you compare the fighters he is pretty even with yours.

That's BS. How can we compare fighters when yours has been training his physicals for A LOT LONGER than mine. There is no comparison!!!

As far as the tycoon magazine goes.. Our magazine is the top mag in tycoon and our magazine is the only mag that talks about the whole tycoon world not just one company or alliance.

Thanks for clarifying. I'm pretty sure in your first issue you said it was the ONLY mag in Tycoonland ???

You keep talking big but you act like a school girl.. And as far as calling out your boys org.. its like this i hit up 6-7 different London orgs about doing a org vs org thing I didnt look at how old the rogs were I went from top to bottom looking for a org. Dont tell me Im the one looking for easy competition because its fucking obvious that you are the one that dont like hard fights not me!

I like FAIR fights.

And if your sack ever drops and you wanna do some org vs org shit I'll fly ten of your guys to london on my dime and have them fight some of the guys on my roster but i doubt you'd do that so how about you pick a fighter sign them on MKFC and ill do the same and we'll hash it out.. Don't duck me

http://www.mmatycoon.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=10399&hl=

I've already done a cross promotion. That was when I was 2 months into the game. Thought of it on my own. Pretty good eh!?

I dont want to do business with you. I dont want to send any of my fighters to you. If any of my org's fighters want to join your org instead of mine I will release them no questions asked.

The welterweight grand prix round two takes place this weekend and Saigon Driscol has been training over time to make sure he can make it to the next round. Saigon is the eight seed taking on the number one seed this Friday in Adrik Reznikov.

Saigon took time from his training at ACME Thai Boxing to talk to us about his fight and his training partners. He has been training with WAFC Heavyweight Champion Fedor Emelianenko and with fellow welter weight GP fighter Steven Zedowski. Zedowski lost his round one fight but is training for his fight this weekend against Don Demarco.

MKFC: Saigon what is it like training with a guy that was also in the welter weight grand prix?

Saigon: At first it was a little weird because there was the thoughts that we might have to fight each other but we got along pretty well. Once I saw he caught a loss in the first round I was disappointed because he is a good guy. He helps me a ton with my wrestling and I help him in training with some muay thai.

MKFC: You also train with Fedor the Wicked Aggression champion right? What is it like training with a champion?

Saigon: We have a load of guys at this camp here at Acme Thai Boxing that have belts and that have held belts or gotten title shots and that is why I like being here. There are so many veterans and champions and they give good advice. I just like being able to ask guys for advice and know that the advice is good not some bull.

MKFC: Do you think you can advance into the final four of the grand prix and how hard will it be to get to the finals.

Saigon: I think I have a good chance to advance and even win this thing... It will be tough but I have been working hard on my wrestling because Adrik is going to try and out wrestle me. I think I can control this fight and get the win. I hope when the fight is over I am the winner and I can move on to the next fight but until this fight is over I will not over look Adrik.

Saigon: I want everyone to know I want this win and I want to be the face of the Welterweight division. I cannot wait til this fight goes down because I feel really strong and I think I might have the defense to take out the top rated fighter in this competition. It is my chance to introduce myself to a ton of fans and to the guys who run one of the top twenty fight orgs in the world.

In the hours leading up to his fight in the MKFC Welterweight GP Saigon Driscol was at his home in St Petersburg still doing some light training with Acme Teammates Jon Jonsson and MKFC light heavyweight champion Quin Johnson. Also taking part in this training is MKFC welterweight Steven Zedowski who is also fighting in the event that is now just hours away.

The reason these guys are up so late the night before a fight is because both men have a ton to prove and they believe last minute fixes in their game planes could determine the outcome of the fight. Saigon was watching film and noticed his opponent did some things he had not noticed before and wanted to tweak a few things last minute so he could get a few hours of sleep trying to not worry as much.

Saigon cannot stress how much this fight means to him and everyone around him, He believes winning this tournament will secure his future in one of the best fight organizations in the world and also within one of the best alliances in the world. Saigon feels a loss tomorrow will derail his plans for his future but says he is not looking past tomorrows fight.

" I know better then to think about the third round.. If I did that then there would be no third round for me. I still know there are some things I need to improve and I wish I had more time to do that but right now I am focused on the fight. He has knockout power and great wrestling and that means I have to be careful on the feet because he may try to knock me out fast and on the ground he could try and show that his wrestling is better this my jits but I don't believe that will happen. Tomorrow I have chance to do something huge and I pray I win the fight and continue on my journey!"

Saigon and his fight team ACME are currently working on creating a private training space for themselves but until they do ACME Thai boxing and it's semi private gym is where most of the alliance members who fight in St Pete go to. Saigon feels comfortable being at home with some of his fight team and he feels prepared for what he says should be a war tomorrow. All eyes will be on MKFC tomorrow and everyone in the worldwide ACME alliance will be watching on!

The MKFC Uncovered team today caught up with Mark Hughes between training sessions at the Cobra Kai Dojo to discuss his upcoming TNT 13 main event fight with Andre Battle.

MKFC: Mark last time we saw you in the MKFC you suffered your first defeat of your career against future MKFC hall of famer Hank Johnstone, has this affected the way you'll be approaching the fight with Battle?

Hughes: I think after any loss you really have to go back and watch the fight video a few times to try and spot the mistakes which were made and I feel like I know where I went wrong with the Johnstone fight and I definitely won't be making the same mistakes against Andre.

MKFC: Some members of the MMA media are saying that perhaps it was cockiness that led to your defeat against Johnstone,do you think this could have been a factor?

Hughes: I wouldn't call it cockiness, possibly over confidence was a factor but anyone who goes the first six fights of their career without being hit or taken down is going to get a bit over confident.

MKFC: Your next fight is on May 6th against Andre Battle in the main event of TNT 13, how are your preperations going for the fight?

Hughes: I feel like this is one of the best training camps I've had yet, I've worked really hard to fill in what I felt where the holes in my game and I feel now like I'll be even harder to hit and take down than before.

MKFC: Everyone knows about your ability with your hands but a lot of people are questioning wether if Battle can take you down if you'll be able to cope with his ground game, do you feel you'll be able to deal with him if the fight does go to the ground?

Hughes: I've been training my BJJ a lot for the last couple of months and I think there isn't really many heavyweights in the MKFC that I can't deal with on the ground. You might even see me taking Andre down and going for the sub myself.

MKFC: You've never had a fight go out of the first round while Battle has fought a few 3 round wars, is conditioning something that could have an effect on you if the fight goes past the first round?

Hughes: Conditioning isn't something that worries me, I've always done a lot of work to keep my conditioning at a high level even from before my first fight. My punches aren't going to be able to knock people out if I've not got enough gas to throw them with force.

MKFC: Do you have a message for Andre Battle and any predictions for the fight?

Hughes: Well I've got to respect Andre for taking this fight on relatively short notice but I feel like I've got too much in my game for him to handle, no one in MMA retires undefeated but I intend to keep it to just the one loos in my career. As for predictions I'm going to have to say it'll be another first round KO.

MKFC: Thanks Mark for taking the time out from your training to talk to us today.

Upon being told about Andre Battles earlier comments Mark Hughes was asked for a response

"Andre thinks he's going to knock me out? It takes someone special like a Hank Johnstone to even hit me and I don't believe that Andre has that kind of talent and skill in him. I plan on making it a short night for Andre and getting straight back in the gym on Friday morning, but Andre won't be able to get back in the gym for some time when I'm done with him."

Andre speaks out again.

"Hahaha I love a confident opponent. Mark talks a lot, it's easy to not get hit when you beat up a bunch of scrubs.Mark hasnt fought anyone with good standup, and the last guy he did fight isnt even that great standing and knocked Marks ass out!.I'm going to put my right hand down his throat and make his teeth cave in."

"And when i'm done with him my boy Kellen"The Rock"Smith is going to manhandle him as well!"

The media once again caught up with Mark Hughes to hear the latest in his war of words with Andre Battle.

"Andre thinks I've not fought anyone with good standup? I've fought a couple of guys who can match him for standup so what's he really saying about his own skills there? He'll find it difficult to hit me with my fists repeatedly smashing into his face. I guess he'll just be another can to crush on my road to the title"

Middleweight Billy McGee learnt that his future opponent, Jimmy Jackson, had personally requested their rematch which is due to take place on the 15th edition of Thursday Night Throwdown on 20 May.

McGee claimed that has had some time off since his last fight and has used it wisely - training hard and refocusing. He promises that his rematch with Jackson will demonstrate just how good he has become, and how much better he can be.

Or, in his words:

"That Baywatch kid again? After I starched him in less than a minute last time? Seriously, that boy hugs and knees a couple of losers and thinks he's something. Well, I'm happy to feed him a knuckle sandwich and send him sobbing back into David Hasselhoff's hairy embrace."

The Path to the Welterweight Championship continues!

Saigon Driscol put in his work for over three months now and continues to learn new things and get better at his craft while working on becoming the MKFC Welterweight Champion!. The grand prix has been going on for some time now and the semi finals are just a few weeks away. Saigon Driscol faces his toughest challenge to date when he steps in the cage against fellow 2-0 fighter Banana Man. The fight won't have all the hype that some fights on the event have but it will have some very good welterweight fights with four men looking to advance to the next round!

The commercials leading up to the event may not include the fighters in the grand prix the preview show may not talk much about them but be sure that when you tune into the event and you see Saigon and Banana going at it that you will see fire works between two men leaving it all in the cage so that one can move on to their destiny and the other can go back to the drawing board.

Saigon met up with MKFC.com recently for a quick interview and he had a lot to say about this fight and what he has to do to keep moving on.. You become a fan of this kid's every time he opens his mouth.

Saigon Driscol: Banana Man is coming into this fight with the same amount of wins as I have but we both earned our wins differently and we both have different skills that we have not even shown yet. I don't see how I went in and won both of my fight by submission in the first round but I did and I am happy that my game plans worked off and that everyone is behind me. Right now I'm just working on the little things like punch technique and strike defense. I really Have not had the chance to stand up and bag with anyone yet but I know when Man and I meet up that he wants to exchange with me and that we might see a part of me come out that has yet to come out. I am working my butt off to get better at everything from my primary skills or my secondary skill sets that a lot of people don't pay attention to. I have the whole nation of Samoa on my back and I promise to keep working hard so that I can achieve my goal of winning this tournament and getting a title shot. Right now though I'm focused on Man and what it's going to take to beat him. Everyone has saw my ground game and I feel like this fight will be tested and fought on the feet his boxing against my muay thai until someone drops. I'm confident in these hands.. these feet.. these elbows and these knee's so if Banana Man wants to exchange he better come prepared!

Saigon Driscol picks up his gym bag and heads into the ACME Training Center where he continues to grow as a mixed martial artist and as he does so his journey to the welterweight title continues!

It’s time … $25,000 on the line as Международная Клетка Бойцовский Чемпионат presents the Ultimate Superheavyweight Tourney. Top fighters from around the world vying to prove they are the best this Saturday night. Live from The Docks in beautiful St Petersburg, Russia; a sold out house is anticipated for round one of this historic event. Sponsors Cobra Kai Nutrition and 5th Round Apparel will be ringside and Accept will be on hand to play live between the action.

Opening the nights events are four very green fighters fighting on a huge stage. Igor Rusland and Eriku Landstrimma square off in a bantamweight bout where both men are making their professional debuts. In a striker versus wrestler matchup, Landstrimma may be too strong for the very small Rusland. In a lightweight match up, Andy Kaufman (0-2) looks to finally win when he faces Lamsogkram Chuwattana (1-0). Kaufman give up a lot in reach and this fight could spell trouble once again for “Mighty Mouse”. Another loss may mean a nickname change is in order as well as a change of venue.

The tournament … a seeded war with sixteen fighters all looking to prove that they are the best and worthy of the $25000 prize. Vicious Bets in London has a betting line on the first round fights and so far the action has been brisk.

#1 seed Jon Ohlrich (12-3) faces #16 seed Hyooman Humanelli (1-1). Ohlrich, the number 2 ranked SHW in the world is in a different realm then most fighters and unless he stands in the center of the ring with his hands down and chin out there is little hope for Humanelli. Humanelli’s management team has assured the MKFC that their fighter has a solid gameplan that does involve their fighter mounting an offense so we will see what happens. The insider prediction: Ohlrich by TKO in round one.

#2 seed Mauro Gomes is the Kings of Rio SHW champion and ranked #14 in the world. Gomes flew in to Saint Pete after crushing a top challenger in Rio on 4/20 and has looked impressive in open workouts from The Finnish MMA Academy. Gomes was called out by #9 seed Andrew Trill who as of today, just a few short days before the fight is still holed up in Tokyo. Gomes management expects Trill to stay in Tokyo as he doesn’t have the “balls to face a real champ” … MKFC officials have been mum on Trill’s status. The insider says; If Trill shows he could be the one to turn the seedings upside down. Expect Gomes to be defensive minded and catch Trill in a sub late in round three.

#3 seed Musashimaru Koyo (8-0) is a champion in Tokyo of the Courage FC, he will face a veteran St Pete based fighter in Gregor Svenssonn (7-5), the number 14 seed. Svensson’s management team points to Koyo’s opposition as proof he is a “paper champion”. Svensson is a knockout specialist so expect him to stand toe to toe with the Japanese champ. Koyo will look to connect with Svensson’s chin which has let the Russian down on several occasions. The insider says: This one goes the distance with Koyo edging out a split decision which will force him to focus on round two.

#4 seed Chris Wells (9-2) meets St Pete up and comer #13 seed Saint Wicked (2-0). Wells is a well balanced fighter that many have predicted will win this tournament. He prefers to stand and bang but can very capably wrestle and submit an opponent. Wicked has been training hard but is outclassed in this match up. Wells has not departed Los Angeles as of this reporter putting together his notes. Wicked has been training hard at the Cobra Kai Dojo and will gladly take a bye into round two. No one wants to see that happen – calls to Well’s management team go directly to a voicemail message stating Well’s will do press in St Pete an hour before the bout. The insider says; if Wells shows up, Wicked is in trouble. Victory via KO in round one.

#5 seed Thurston Gimmie Some (9-2) was the SISU champion when that org folded and is the number 21 SHW in the world. Coming in from Helinski this weekend he will face the #12 seed Denali fili (5-1). Fili a defector from Divine Entertainment in St Petersburg who jumped to MKFC for a shot at $25k has won five straight and is known for being a big puncher. Some has also run off five consecutive wins, all via KO and has no fear regarding the punching power of fili. The insider says: No doubt this one will stay standing because Some has his pride and will bang with a banger, that said if he decides to take this to the mat this one could end quick. TKO round three scored by Some.

#6 seed Craig Wilbon (9-0) enters Saturday nights fight as one of the top ranked superheavyweights in the world, as one of the top SHW’s in London and as the Victory Fight League Champion. A huge puncher, he has won all of his bouts with punching power and looks to make #11 seed Agriv Bunga (4-1) KO victim number 10. Bunga, a submission specialist will have to get this one to the mat pronto. If he tries to stand with Wilbon his chance of success is almost nil. The insider says: the pride of London rides on the capable shoulders of Wilbon. He will not let his countrymen down, Wilbon by round one KO.

#7 seed Markov Jankovic (8-3) is representing MKFC in this tourney and is a long shot to win it all. His management feels he has all the tools necessary to make it to the finals and hopes to get started on the right foot against #10 seed Ryan Bird (5-2). Bird, of Las Vegas, has won five straight bouts leading into his clash with Jankovic and has proven to be fairly adept at submissions, finishing four of his opponents via sub. Jankovic may very well be better then his record would attest, disregarding his lost in his first career fight his other two losses came against two fighters who combined have a 23 wins. Jankovic has solid standup and a passable ground game that should get him past his first round opponent. The insider says: Bird has never fought in an organization having taken all his fights via QFC; Jankovic will use his experience to his advantage – Jankovic via second round TKO.

#8 seed John Davis (10-2) expected to come to St Pete as the top SHW from NY, but he was derailed by a muy thai specialist. The EEC representative is a huge puncher and his opponent, the #15 seed Sverker Uggla (1-0) has never really faced anyone much less a fighter of Davis caliber. Uggla however may be the kryptonite to Davis’s superman. Uggla is a gym rat with a solid mat game and a granite chin. He most definitely did his homework on Davis and could exploit the clinch game to his advantage. Uggla has also been trash talking to a degree that you would think he is the guy with the 10-2 record. Some notable quotes, “He'll never get to my chin before it hits the canvas. And when it does, it's over. John Davis is over. Look what happened the last times he fought guys who could wrestle for shit. And this time against me, who has a 33 lbs weight advantage. He's the way, way more experienced guy, but that only makes things more exciting. Exciting in the way that this loss will forever be burnt into his record, and every time he looks at it he'll remember the beating he recieved from guy who started training full time this January. I'm not just looking to win this, I'm looking to throughoutly embarrass him. To make matters worse, he looks like a stoned fucking turtle.” The insider says: This one could see the underdog take it. I’ll go out on a limb here and say Uggla by Submission round 2.

A HUGE night of very big men LIVE from The Docks this Saturday night! Don’t miss it!!

Dirty win or not, Gomes oughta count himself lucky his cornermen gave him a little extra Vaseline cause it just made it that much less painful when Trill raped him.

Don't know this dude they've given Trill next, but Pillowfist Wells better count himself lucky he drew someone else ;)

Международная Клетка Бойцовский Чемпионат returns to Hayashi’s Lounge this Thursday night for another exciting edition of Thursday Night Throwdown! This week features several future stars, a former champion, and many fighters with huge knockout power. As always MKFC officials are enthusiastic that the event will not only be packed with fans, but that the fighters will also deliver a quality show.

Headling the card is one of the true veterans of the MKFC, with 10 fights with the org already to his credit, including a stretch as the bantamweight champion. Darnell Klutie (12-5) has won seven times in the MKFC cage and is a crowd favorite, recently rebounding with two straight wins after two losses to top ranked opponents the MKFC has thrown at him their top new signee in Ben Farro. Farro (6-2) has won six straight fights and utilizes his skills as a Brazilian jiu jitsu black belt to secure victories; however he also has a potent striking game which makes him an extremely difficult challenger to all bantamweights. Having left ICON as their champion, he has his eyes set on the MKFC gold but to get at it he must get past former champion Klutie. While fight fans adore Klutie the MKFC may see him as a top level gatekeeper – he can toss a beating to the lower tier of fighters and gives top notch fighters the fights of their careers. Farro will look to finish but Klutie has a ton of tricks – this one is expected to go the distance – who will come out on top?

Thursday night marks Saint Peter’s (7-2) first fight at Middleweight after fighting his entire career at Light Heavyweight. Entering this fight versus MKFC newcomer Ren Gracie (5-2) off a dramatic KO win, Peter is looking to continue his winning ways and make his mark on the middleweight division. Peter has dominant standup skills and is a fantastic wrestler but his jiu jitsu game is lacking and that is where Gracie, a black belt will look to capitalize. Gracie, an import from Rio, is not afraid of standing and banging as evidenced by some of the wars on his record, he does however look to finish and finish by way of submission which could be a problem for Peter if this one goes to the mat.

In a Featherweight scrap, Jon Jonsson (4-1) will tussle with Luc Louiselle (3-2). Both men like to stand and bang and the crowd loves a good slugfest. Look to these two to give the crowd exactly what they want as they go toe-to-toe and one man gets smashed to the canvas. Jonsson needs a win here to stay in the title picture.

Two lightweight matches are on the card with Nolan Millner (8-6) facing Alan King (7-4) and Yurik Khripunov (1-1) duking it out with Kitsune Tsuki (0-2). King, who enters Thursdays debut match up in the MKFC after a career with RMF lost three straight before rebounding with a victory in his final fight with RMF. Millner, who won in his MKFC debut is not known for his ability to finish fights but he does put on a good show of techniques. One man will look to finesse and out score his opponent while the other looks for the big hit. Should be interesting. Khripunov and Tsuki are fighting for their careers as neither has been all that impressive in their first few professional bouts. Both men are expected to go to the mat and work for a submission which is also not generally a crowd pleaser. If both men go for it and put on a show then the crowd may get into it, if it turns into a hug fest expect a lot of folks grabbing a beer while these two go at it.

Three other top quality middleweight matchups are on Thursday’s card and each could be explosive. Jack London (5-2) and Stroope Heineken (2-0) will engage in fisticuffs. Heineken is a huge puncher and while he may not be able to defend against London’s takedowns, all he needs is one punch to send his foe to sleepytown. Both men are adept at the mat game but only London can take the fight there with something other than a knockdown. Franklin Smith (6-6) has lost four of his past five bouts, including his MKFC debut, and he faces Francisco Santos Oliveira Thursday night. Oliveira will be making his professional debut and commented through a translator that he is looking forward to “crushing an old can” in his first career bout … Smiths camp had no comment. Ivan Drago (3-1-1) recently lost an epic grudge match and will look to get back in the win column when he faces Big Shot (1-0). Both fighters are very even on paper though Shot will have an edge in height and reach. Shot is making his second appearance in the MKFC cage so the initial jitters should not e there. All these fights look promising as the middleweight division has really come together.

When Peter Stevenson (7-5) joined the MKFC bantamweight division and promptly defeated one of the top talents at the time – he looked like the next potential contender but after going 2-3 since that point has been positioned as a gatekeeper. Ivan ORourke (5-3) has had an up and down career, fought entirely in the MKFC. ORourke will look to exploit Stevensons weaknesses which is easily possible if he keeps Steveson at bay with leg kicks. Stevenson may look to take this one to the mat, don’t expect OROurke to cooperate.

MKFC also presents two new super heavyweights making their professional debuts as the event opener. Hope the two meaty fellows bring it hardcore or the crowd will most likely rain down insults. Big guys are generally good for a first round KO so one guy should go down. Best of luck to Seymore Scars and Jorgen Voller in their debuts.

Come down to TNT 14 – this event sponsored by ACME’s newest gym – the ACME Wrestling and BJJ Academy.

Saigon Driscol felt like his world was coming apart and he dropped to his knee's and began to get very angry, was he mad at himself or was he mad at the judges and the real question was yet to be asked but it was what is next?

Banana Man had just been declared the winner by a judges decision and as he celebrated with his fight camp Saigon pushed his camp away. Wanting to be left alone Driscol made his way to the back got looked at by the medical staff and then kicked everyone from his dressing room and sat there.

It was the first fight that Saigon had ever had that went out of the first round and it was the first fight where he did not get his way and take the fight to the ground and dominate. He was not mad at the judges or Banana Man he was pissed off at himself because he did not execute the game plan. He has a stand up game that people have not yet saw but he did not get to show it and that was the plan going into this fight was to surprise him with the stand up game. Instead now Saigon is left wondering about his future fresh off signing a contract extension from MKFC he now wonders who he will fight next.

Saigon had made his way out of the dressing room and is down in a seat near the cage watching the main event featuring Sing Ali. While Saigon is sitting there he gets approached by MKFC.com writers and they want a word with him about the fight. Saigon said he has very few words but hopes that they reach Paul Dengel and Banana Man.

" He came in and did enough to get the judges to raise his hand and congrats to him for that but Banana Man did not put me out he did not finish me and I will not stay down. I hope that Banana Man continues on with his winning ways because I want a shot at him. I want a title fight but right now I just want to fight him again because I know I am better then him and I want the chance to prove it. Paul Dengel if you are listening sign me up to fight anyone you have. I'll fight tomorrow if I have to I just want to fight as soon as possible and get a shot to show everyone that I deserve a shot at Banana man."

I hope Paul Dengel and Banana Man take notice because this welterweight surely has no plans to weep over this loss and he may come back better than ever.

After hearing the interview Saigon made after the fight, Banana Man really wished he had beheaded him with high kick earlier. Saigon still thinks he is better than him? How? Saigon lost both in the stand-up and on the ground, didn't show anything. He is clear winner in a fight that he really didnt even have a need to show anything, or so he thought.

This isnt going to stop his celebration but he also hopes Paul gives Saigon another shot in the future, so that he can turn his lights of and shut him up once and for all.

Saigon was very happy that Banana Man obliged him by making some comments. Saigon knew that he had lost the fight but deep down he knew he had so much more to show to everyone and he knows that he can beat Man and shut up the cocky mouth he has.

Saigon is on a plane on his way to London where he is now calling home but he says as soon as he gets there he will start training and will be ready for whoever MKFC gives him next. From this point on he is fighting for a rematch against Banana Man.

"Banana Man seems to feel like he is the better fighter.. I guess he deserves that much because he did beat me but let me tell you I will not stop until I get a rematch and another chance to prove what I can do. If Man thinks I am a unskilled fighter have him talk to the guys I fought in my first two fights and I am sure they will disagree. The guys deserves credit for beating me but this war has just began"

Saigon closed his phone and turned his attention back to the in flight movie which happened to be The Karate Kid. Saigon is not going to lose himself over this loss but he also wants to prove he is better then what he showed.

TNT 15 took place this past Thursday and the show was well attended with 1850 fight fans coming to support St Petersburg MMA. Up and comers put on a show for the fans but the event rating was poor for a MKFC event and officials were quick to comment. “The guys tonight did a great job, they performed well, but the fans demand some top players on all our cards and we will soon deliver that.” Future TNT shows will have some premier talent in headlining events which should bolster ratings and prevent the MKFC from dropping in the world rankings after each TNT event. Thursday, middleweight Jimmy Jackson (6-2) headlined an event for the first time and in the process won his 6th consecutive fight. In what was to be the Fight of the Night, Jackson avenged an early career loss to Billy McGee (3-2) by scoring a second round TKO. McGee who had won three in a row came out aggressively in the first and gave Jackson a thrashing until the end of the round. Jackson however showed his power with a brilliant knockdown in the first which was a sign of the apocalypse for McGee. In the second – with Jackson going to purely kicks in the sand up, again McGee was dropped. McGee stood but after a few more minutes of exchanges Jackson landed a high kick then pounced with strikes to end the fight. Excellent headline event and worthy of Fight of the Night honors.

Bash Jones (8-6) relied too much on attempting takedowns and ended up losing a decision to Abel Stamp (9-7). The two hard as nails bantamweight veterans engaged in some fisticuffs, with Stampdoing the bulk of the scoring for the first two rounds. Jones who went 1-3 in his MKFC career after moving to St Pete from Los Angeles will now be seeking a fight contract elsewhere. Stamp, now seen both as a gatekeeper and a career destroyer, has ended two MKFC bantams careers and he delights in the possibility of sending more guys out to pasture; resigning for three more fights with the MKFC.

Ivan Drago’s (6-6) MKFC career was ended at 1:41 of the first round in his bout with Alex Karkov (7-5) as the superheavyweight was pounded into submission. Karkov showed excellent takedown defense in stuffing 5 attempts by the brown belt while peppering him with punches. After a huge punch stumbled Drago, a second sent him crashing to the canvas where Karkov pounded on him until the referee made the save. Huge win for the Cobra Kai fighter Karkov. In another SHW match up Crazy Pete (9-5) moved one fight closer to a big tenth win by submitting Serge Ramirez (6-3). Pete broke Ramirez’s three fight win streak in dramatic fashion as he secured a kimra at 2:34 of the first and practically tore off Ramirez arm.

Lightweight Berna Radoncik (3-1) fought back from a disastrous first round to dominate in the clinch and take a unanimous decision victory over Kelly Wells (2-2). Both fighters have spent their careers with the MKFC and the partisan crowd seemed to cheer for both men equally. This one went the distance and showed that Wells needs to work on his clinch game. Not the most exciting fight of the night but a well fought tactical battle by Radoncik who used his strengths to his advantage.

Two welterweights who had yet to record a victory in their careers will meet – James Hardy was victorious in his retirement match and in defeating Steven Zedowski (0-3) sent him out of the MKFC as well. Both men fought purely on the ground and no one was able to submit the other. Zedowski’s management will continue to support their fighter and hopes to someday to return to the MKFC … we shall see. Two bantamweights made their cage debuts as max payne went down in defeat to Miggery Sow. Sow wasted no time in taking this one to the ground and securing a guillotine at 40 seconds of round one. Sow very impressive in his debut. A stunned and confused looking payne seemed to have no idea what happened and obviously needs much more time in the gym.

Heavyweight Don Winston (2-1) wanted to stand and trade with Dmitry Novokov (3-0) and found himself on the losing end of a beatdown. Novokov quickly took this fight to the clinch to nullify Winston’s reach advantage and then with brutal precision opened up a gaping wound on Winston’s head. Once the blood started to flow Novokov pressed the attack and further splayed open the bleeding gash. By 3:29 of the first the ringside doctor had enough and called the fight for the winner, Novokov. Dmitry Novokov will be representing the MKFC on the premier card of ACME’s newest organization in Sydney Australia. When he returns the heavyweight division best be watchful of the young man who continues to impress in every bout.

Sergei Emelianenko (7-4-1) was awarded submission of the night in his light heavyweight victory over Dodge Elusive (7-2). Entering the fight the thought was that the speed of Elusive would prove to be the deciding factor but after a hard fought back and forth first two rounds, it was anyones fight entering the third. The tide seemed to turn totally in the favor of Elusive once he cut Emelianenko and proceeded to take mount and begin the GnP. Elusive was landing with strikes while the big Russian squirmed. After successfully warding off a triangle attempt by Emelianenko, the Russsian transitioned to a very tight guillotine that forced Elusive to tap. Dramatic finish and our submission of the night!

The knockout of the night came in the first match, a featherweight bout that pitted two men with equal records against one another. Andrei Zhelyabov (4-1) was never hit in his bout with Reilly Bell (3-2), unloading a huge headkick that ended the fight in twenty seconds.

Thanks to all our fighters for a solid show!

Super fights are risky for a fight org. Fighters are brought in to fight your champions, or you send your champions to other cities to fight with the risk of losing and coming back with a drop in hype and popularity. Recently the MKFC sent fighters to Tokyo and New York and the MKFC fighters returned victorious, MKFC HW champion traveled across the city to rival Russian Combat and returned with a loss on his record. The outcome to Friday nights was as shocking as it was fast, MKFC bantamweight champion Sub Hero (10-2) lost for the second consecutive time in a super fight. This time being caught in a triangle armbar just 47 seconds into the fight. Hero and his team were despondent after the fight and had no comment. In the fight a takedown was quickly secured by Hero and then his foe took over, getting full guard and immediately going for the sub. The packed arena sat in shocked silence for a moment before applauding the hired gun, Adriana Lima (11-5) who is based out of New York. Lima had watched tape of Hero’s last fight and came in with a solid plan which was to work for a sub as quickly as possible. Stunning.

The co-main event was a rematch pitting the two highest ranked bantamweights each vying for a shot at Sub Hero’s title. In this eliminator bout, Diego Elvis (8-2) again fell short and suffered the second defeat of his career to the always impressive Sing Ali (12-1). As in their first bout, this one went the distance with Ali winning all three rounds this time around. Ali scored from distance and the clinch while stuffing 14 takedowns and taking Elvis’s deadly GnP attack out of the equation. Elvis was frustrated at every turn, and by round three his face was badly swollen, his right eye nearly closed shut. In addition the right side of his rib cage had a purple hue as he ate punch after punch to his midsection and ribcage. Ali will get his shot at the bantamweight crown which he held for four defenses before losing to Hero.

Международная Клетка Бойцовский Чемпионат crowned the first lightweight champion in the orgs history on Friday night. Al Silva and George Obama fought a twenty five minute war, with the victor completely undecided going into the fifth and final stanza. After the first twenty minutes the entire arena had this fight even, with each fighter taking on round; and it was the fifth and final round that was the decider. Obama (4-0) was crowned champion after the fighters used the first four minutes of the final round to dance and shadowbox. In the final minute Obama finally landed a big right hand followed by a jab and hook which helped him outpoint his foe. Silva (3-1) was clearly disappointed but told all the fans in attendance that he will be back, and one day he will wear the MKFC belt. Obama ever gracious in victory let Silva say his piece before announcing his after party … back in Amsterdam.

Round 3 of the Welterweight Grand Prix continued with the quarterfinalists battling it out to see who would square off for the title. Saigon Driscol (2-1) relied to heavily on takedowns and suffered a lopsided defeat at the hands of Banana Man (3-0) who used kicks to dominate the standing battle, and knees to score in the clinch. Despite the protests of Driscol’s corner at the judge’s decision, no one in attendance was in disagreement; they all however agreed that this battle was the fight of the night! Johnny Makerov (3-0) scored another thrilling knockout to reach the finals when he dispatched Logan Creed (2-1) at the thirty second mark. Makerov landed a combo that dropped Creed and then proceeded to pummel the fallen fighter on the ground – another brutal win for Makerov. Man and Makerov will face off to determine the first MKFC Welterweight champ.

Brutus Green (2-1) scored the KO of the night in ending Viktieu Esprit ‘s (1-2) career. Green pummeled the hapless Espirit for over 6 ½ minutes before finally lifting Espirit off his feet with a huge uppercut that damn near separated him from consciousness. Green was all over Espirit like a plague of locust causing the referee to call the fight.

Guru Grepp (2-1) was a huge underdog going into his fight with Andrey Nazarov (0-1). Despite Nazarov’s lack of cage experience his pedigree as a brown belt and with two years of solid training made few think Grepp stood a chance. Not only did Grepp win, he submitted the BJJ practitioner and was awarded Submission of the Night for the task. Grepp, a blue belt, worked the takedowns and tried to get position, but after round one everyone thought it was only a matter of time before Grepp got caught. As round two progressed, Nazarov perhaps showed a lack of respect for Grepp’s jiu jitsu in looking to control rather then finish and Grepp made him pay. Grepp working from the bottom, pushed Nazarov off and worked for a very quick armbar. He flipped onto his stomach and cranked hard on the arm forcing Nazarov to tap. Nazarov and his team were furious but he quit and Grepp scored the biggest win of his young career.

In other preliminary bouts: Cornel Fat Boy (2-1) defeated Don DeMarco via unanimous decision in a weleterweight match up. In another WW bout, Reese Status (2-1) forced Adrick Reznikov (1-2) to tap to strikes after Status mounted a dazed Reznikov and pounded away until the referee pulled him off at 1:48 of the first round. Leland Ralph (1-1) was brought back down to earth after his successful MKFC debut in dramatic fashion; suffering a knockout at the hands of Neil Fallon (5-2) in a middleweight match up. Ralph was known as a striker coming in but after taking a barrage of shots he fell like timber and Fallon’s arm was raised in victory.

Strong card with 1882 in attendance and a respectable 133.08 rating

Beejay Penn is saying he feels disrespected that he has not been in the Main or Co-Main Event on any non-TNT events. His win over the former champion wasn't one and his title fight coming up are not in the top two slots and he is quite annoyed by that and is looking to make a statement at Cobra Kai VERSUS.
