I am so screwed for this fight

So for my final fight in my entry-level WFC contract My 2-1 fighter Mike McDougal:

and he got matched up against a Chris Ferguson who is bad at everything, except for that part where he is a brown belt:

Now, I looked over his fights and he takes you down and submits you, no questions asked, ESPECIALLY after he tries the submissions about 30-40 times. My Blue belt and takedown defense/defensive grapple are screwed. What strategy can I implement here aside from putting the slider all the way to stay standing?

Well, he has woeful boxing to my mediocre right now but I'm hoping that i could beef up to competent in time for the fight.

Set your sliders for stay on the outside and counter. Then set your punching for damage. Hopefully when he shoots in to take you down you crack him in the dome, end of fight.

Yeah, I don't think this is actually that bad of a matchup for you. Unless your TD defence is non-existent, you should be able to punish him on the feet.

Don't hit the ground and it should be an easy W.

Uh, yeah I'm assuming that a brown belt BJJ guy will have TREMENDOUS takedown offence, granted mine isnt really up to par either, not sure whether or not i should be trying to train takedown d, or defensive grapple.

Train takedown defense. If the fight never hits the ground there is no need for defensive grappling. :smile_anim:

Yes, this. Takedown defense or spar with good wrestlers. He has useless wrestling but nailed quick takedowns, so he may be deceptively good (high takedown offense, low primary wrestling), but if never go to the ground and keep it to the outside after you train your wrestling you are anything but screwed.

He has useless wrestling, the only reason he got anyone to the ground was probably because they were playing the aggressive game with him. You'll be fine if you keep your distance and set your shit to 75 percent counter 75-80 percent power.

If you have any power at all you'll catch him. Just pray your guy doesn't dive in to finish him on the ground lol.

But yeah, he should have no chance against you whatsoever. If he does 40 takedown attempts you will probably stuff all of them. Good luck. I'm off to eat cheesecake.

High aggression, high damage, single shots. Hope you catch him before he takes you down. Worked for me. Good luck man.

Looks like he sucks at lots of things, he literally did nothing successfully in that fight.

Edit: When did we get knockdowns? Or are they just rare? I hadn't noticed one before, usually just a person who gets rocked and ends up on the ground.
