Miguel Escrima

"I haven't tasted the sweat of battle for 13 weeks now. The feeling of danger is something you can't recreate in the gym. Needless to say I am raring to go, and I'm sorry in advance for the embarrassment I will hand you Brendan in front of your home crowd.

Next time I hope to justify being higher up the card and previewed like the top guys!"

LEGACY! 3 Event Preview
Prepared by Russ T. Shackleford

Legacy! welcomes mixed martial arts fans around the world back to the Expo in beautiful Montreal. Twenty fighters will throw it all on the line and risk life and limb as they try to make their marks early and position themselves nicely for title shots. They come in search of money, fame, glory, or a fair fight and, there’s a few who are just here only the chance to punch someone in the face. A near sold out house is expected after the electric atmosphere 5,841 lucky fans experienced in Legacy! 2, an event that secured Legacy’s spot in the top 20 fight organizations in the world with an event rating of 278.67. Building upon that success we present another spectacle that every MManiac and Z list celebrities will be flocking to Saturday evening. How do you improve upon an event that already averages 5 knockouts? Pit striker vs. striker! The main event will feature two of mixed martial arts more experienced veterans as they hop back into the limelight for a matchup that promises to be entertaining. Our co-main event has been a highly anticipated match up for so long that many forgot about it. The always productive Louie De Palma never forgets to remember and has finally made the match up between EVO KT tournament champions Malvo and Bronson. Set your spoiler alerts for tomorrow boys because there will be plenty of good ole’ fashioned bloody, bone on bone, smash mouth, slug fests Saturday the 25th!

Main Event Fidel Duberry vs. Harlen Crowe 265lbs Division

Two of the most elite Heavyweight strikers will square off in the cage, trying to pound each other to a bloody pulp in Legacy! 3’s main event. After a recent trip to Barbados manager Scott Davies encountered Fidel Duberry seven years after his last professional fight. Duberry was repairing a sailboat and living in a dingy hut, five or eight drinks later and the two were on a jet bound to Los Angeles. Since returning Duberry has been high flying with three wins and has proven to still have what it takes to be a contender after climbing back up the P4P rankings to 181st. Fidel has overcome strife numerous times a career that saw him rise through the ranks at Gramma and earn the rare distinction of becoming the top ranked super heavyweight fighter in the world with 3 successful title defenses and a ridiculous 9 win streak at the start of his career. Harlen “Cannonball” Crowe grew up lean and strong from a life of farming in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Although Harlen emits an aura of calm and humility, something snaps and he becomes a different beast upon stepping into the cage. Harlen has been a highly coveted prospect since the start and earned 10 wins amidst a tough schedule in which he captured AD rising star’s super heavyweight belt and defended it twice. Priorities changed to simpler things and Crowe stopped winning fights consistently. After a brief hiatus of a year he returned to professional fighting but, his heart wasn’t in the fight. Faced with some mismanagement Crowe faced 3 defeats in a row, losing morale and fans along the way. Since then Crowe has fought harder than ever to prove to the world that he has what it takes to be the best. That effort paid off in his most recent fight where he captured REVO’s Heavyweight title. Harlen, the 330th P4P fighter will be looking to make his mark against the veteran Duberry who is 6 years the elder. Fidel is a well rounded fighter who loves to knock out opponents or win trying, proving this time and time again with the 16 wins by TKO, 3 via KO and, 6 wins by way of decision. Harlen Crowe has shown his depth recently by shocking spectators with his first ever submission win after 18 career TKO’s, 5 KO’s and, 4 unanimous decisions. This victory silenced skeptics and proved that he’s just as dangerous on the ground. Harlen will be very cautious about standing up against Fidel knowing that he could be set to the canvas by any punch. He’ll be very relaxed and waiting for the opportunity to wind his opponent or work a sneaky takedown so he can get horizontal where the fight is a bit more even. Once they’re on the ground, Fidel will seek to control and ground and pound a Harlen who has shown that he can transition rather well. Crowe will undoubtedly capitalize on the grappling training that led up to his last victory and Harlen will seek to counter that by stuffing takedowns and keeping the fight in the vertical.

Co-main event Lorne Malvo vs. Charles Bronson 155lbs Division

In legacy 3’s co-main event two fighters who were forged in the fire of EVO’s creation KT tournament will look to prove themselves against one another in this highly anticipated matchup. Lorne Malvo walked away from EVO with the 135lbs title while, Charles Bronson captured the 185lbs title and the similarities don’t end there. Neither of these fighters have ever been knocked out or even rocked in their careers and have proven that they’re excellent MMA fighters as well as avid Kickboxers. Hailing from St. Paul, Lorne Malvo has acquired a reputation as a manipulative sadist albeit, the humorous and likable type. Although Malvo has proven he can take and block shots with some of the best, he’s rather keen on dealing them out instead. Malvo has showcased some excellent striking offense and defense throughout a career that began with a huge burst of momentum, fueling a 10 win streak, 6 of which were TKO’s. In this time period he was able to deal Alexsandro De Souza his only defeat to date and capture CBK’s welterweight title before surrendering it back to De Souza. He left the closing Immortals in search of new people to punch. Upon making it to Legacy Lorne made his intentions clear about being a contender by beating Reyki Rhino to a pulp and earning a decisive victory in Legacy! 1. Since a mysterious sunrise silhouetted appearance on horseback Bronson, has had 8 professional fights and 8 wins, 6 of which can be credited to strikes. Seemingly born out of thin air and hailing from parts unknown, Bronson is a humble man who cares not about the money but, relishes a duel against a worthy opponent. Walking into the ring, he plays a somber song on the signature harmonica that lent him the nickname “The Harmonica” Rumor has it that, this particular melancholy tune is played to give his victims the feeling that they are walking to the gallows. After quickly dispatching a foe Bronson thanks the fans for their support and rides off on a horse into the sunset. Little is known of Bronson other than the tale of how he began work in a coal mine at the ripe old age of 10 when his father died of the black lung. In spite of the graying hair and attire straight out of the 1800’s, numerous physicals have in fact proven that Charles Bronson is 23 years old. Both of these fighters have proven that they aren’t likely to run out of gas, even if this were a 25 minute battle like the ones they’ve faced in the past. Bronson has cut a significant amount of weight since his debut at 195lbs and had no problems dropping 15 pounds to take this fight with Malvo. Lorne Malvo has been slowly gaining up to 155lbs and has proven he can carry the extra weight very well. Both fighters have near identical reach with Malvo standing 1cm taller. Bronson holds an advantage on the ground but, he’s a gentleman and will likely stay true to that Kickboxing lineage. Malvo has never had the misfortune of being cut and personally prefers to cut people instead and while Bronson isn’t exactly what I’d call a bleeder, he did receive a cut that was cause for concern a few matches ago. Lorne, being the sadist that he is, will look to see if maybe he can open that cut back up and bleed Charles out of the match. This one will be a war, with both combatants hoping to pop the other’s cherry. In this battle of the chins

Terrell Grant vs Constantine Kermit 185lbs Division

Returning to Legacy! after their participation in our inaugural event two New Yorkers will look to utilize their strengths against each others weaknesses. Terrell Grant has been referred to as the giant throughout life and grew up watching “professional wrestling.” That changed as an adult when he began watching real fighters and became bent on making it into the cage. As a grappling fan, Grant was determined to become a submission specialist, in spite of being called lanky numerous times. Since that initial training he has racked up 10 submission victories 4 of which were Kimuras, a move learned from watching old black and white films of Masahiko Kimura. Grant dealt a resounding defeat to RocknRolla via Americana just seconds inside the first round of our inaugural event. Grant isn’t satisfied with just the one win will be looking to bring the strange win one, loss one streak to an end tonight. Grant while styling himself a submission specialist is an extremely well rounded fighter and his punching has been described as containing “ the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper... “ Constantine Kermit lies on the complete opposite end of the spectrum and the similarities between these two end at New York. Kermit while tall, isn’t exactly “too tall” and Grant holds the privilege of a 8 cm height advantage. While growing up in New York Kermit was often picked on due to his weight, size and after a while, the other kids knew he wouldn’t fight back. School kids would bully Kermit and call him the frog. While still a boy his mother told him “Never forget what you are. The rest of the world will not. Wear it like armor, and it can never be used to hurt you.” after finishing the short lecture Ms.Kermit presented her son with a Kermit the frog beanie, days before her death. Kermit embraced his new outlook and was impervious to the insults of the other children. One day however Kermit snapped. He had fallen asleep in class and awoke to find that a group of boys had drawn “X’s” over the eyes on his beloved beanie, one of the few things he had left to remember his mom by. Four punches later and winded Kermit stood over the unconscious boys that had defaced the beanie. After that, noone messed with the boy they now called the “Killer Frog” who had begun taking Boxing and Muay Thai. Since then he has been on a knockout spree, racking up 6 wins in that fashion as well as acquiring 2 losses from knockouts himself. One of which took place in our inaugural event where Kermit gave a pummeling to Frank Barbosa and received a worse one in return. Grant is the much more well rounded fighter here and has shown that he can be a huge threat whilst on his feet as well as the canvas. Kermit is no slouch either though but, he will be more intent on covering up and defending a recently broken nose and cut that has been plaguing fights for a while. Grant has been knocked out 3 times in his career and will be looking to avoid taking another. Constantine has also seen his fair share of abuse and has been knocked out twice in his career and also deals with a few cuts. He likes to wear his opponent quickly and conserve his own energy for scoring the takedown and getting the submission near the end of the 1st round. Grant will have trouble wearing down Kermit and will be in danger if tries to go to the head as well. He certainly has the power to get to Kermit’s chin but, a KO isn’t what he desires here and he risks opening a cut or receiving one that might make grappling a little more slippery. Kermit has excellent cardio and employs it not to fight the long fight but, instead to drop large volleys of headshots and leg kicks when he faces a grappler. Don’t expect that change tonigh,. Kermit could put up a good fight on the ground but, has skills that have never been proven and he hasn’t shown much desire to do so.

Kim II Sung vs. Sam Hall 170lbs Division

Everyone’s favorite depraved dictator Kim II Sung will return to Legacy to take on Sam Hall, who is under new management and hoping that this fight will get his career back on track. Sung has the advantage of being two year older than Sam. It’s been said by certain North Korean officials that Sung’s birth was prophesized by a swallow and while taking his first breath one of the harshest winters in history turned to spring instantly. As the clouds broke they produced the world’s first triple rainbow and a new star appeared in the sky that outshone the rest. After a little digging I discovered that Sung was actually born in Russia during the winter... it stayed winter. For shits and giggles, I asked Sam if he had any extraordinary claims about his own birth. Laughing, he replied “Well, I was conceived in the back of V-dubya bug after a pub crawl, My fadder was a ratter laaarge fella and me Ma wasn’t too small neither. That they were able to get it on back there, now THAT’S extraordinary” Stating afterwards that isn’t worried about Sung being older at all. Both fighters began their careers around the same time. In spite of claims that he was able to force Chuck Norris to submit while only 8 years old, Sung made his MMA debut at 18. Sam Hall on the other hand has been training since 16 and took his first fight at 17. This gave him a huge headstart over other competitors and helped him capture 7 wins in LFC’s Natural Selection tournament. He captured the title in the process but, lost it immediately, as well motivation and, some fansl. Things haven’t been easy amidst a tough schedule and a weak chin that have only allowed one win out of 5 fights. Hall is intent on putting an end to this funk with the help of a new manager, Chris Frazer. Hall has come a long way since his debut as a boxer and has gained a boost of confidence and some easy sleep with the knowledge that he holds an overall advantage over Sung in all disciplines but one, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Sung is a specialist and focuses very intently on BJJ and aspires one day to claim the ultimate honor for his mythical prowess, The red belt. Sung is very proud of his black belt and ability to submit opponents but, was unable to finish Erik Kramer in Legacy! 2 and walked away with a unanimous decision victory. Hall will certainly try to keep this fight standing and utilize that slight height advantage by pawing away at Kim from the outside. He will be a bit unpredictable under a different manager but, we’re sure to see plenty of leg kicks and body shots. Sam will no doubt try to stuff as many takedowns as possible and avoid the clinch for the same reason but, will have a hard time against one of Sung’s specialties. Sam has had good wrestling his whole career but hasn’t had much experience on the ground and when the fight makes it’s way there we’ll see his superior wrestling tested against a formidable opponent. Kim could stand toe to toe and box Hall for a time but, he will look to recover from that unanimous decision victory and get a quick submission out of his lankier opponent. This fight is sure to be a quick one as the generalist Sam Hall looks for redemption against the specialist Kim II Sung.

Liam Davidson vs. Matt Kroblur 185lbs Division

Liam Davidson looks to begin his career in Legacy! by taking on the 4-1 up and comer Matt Kroblur who might’ve fought his way to a title if Immortals hadn’t closed it’s doors. Matt suffered his first ever defeat at the hands of Edinger Nucleus in a hard fought split decision in the inaugural event. He came into the fight lacking confidence which was quickly compounded when he was on the receiving end of some punishing blows. He gladly returned these strikes to sender but, it took an impact on his energy immediately and made the fight much more difficult. Nucleus was able to land punches a bit more accurately and Kroblur’s plan to take the fight to the ground fell apart. This caused a miscalculation in how well he was doing in points and led to a defeat. Since that day Klobur has spent all his waking hours in the gym or studying film, in an all out effort to improve his skills. He has cut a lot of weight since a debut at 241 lbs and feels a lot more confident at 185 lbs where he is undefeated. Liam on the other hand has been slowly packing on weight throughout his career and tends to be the smaller fighter in most bouts. His opponents often hold 10+lbs weight advantages over him and in the face of such adversity Davidson has never balked, managing to remain undefeated at 185 lbs as well. The size of the man standing across the cage from Davidson never bothered him and he learned to be aggressive and use his opponent’s height and weight against them. The strategy has proven effective with five of Davidson’s seven wins ending in submission in the first round. He’ll will come into this one with a record of 7-2, almost twice as many fights as Kroblur. Davidson loves to finish quickly and has only spent 56 minutes in the cage, with his matches averaging only 6 minutes and 12 seconds. It should come as no surprise that the less aggressive Kroblur has spent 58 minutes in the cage and averaged 11 and a half minutes in his fights. A bit conservative by nature, it’s obvious that Matt will be looking to control the pace of this fight and expend energy on his own terms. Davidson will be careful while standing and though he has come into all of his fights with the intention of submitting his opponent. It’s likely to witness a completely different gameplan where he takes on the role of a brawl and sprawler and stays on the outside landing plenty of body punches to sap Kroblur’s energy. Don’t be too surprised to see these fighters spending a good deal of time on the canvas. Kroblur will likely look for a takedown early and try to transition into a position where he can rain down strikes on his foe. Davidson will be very wary of Kroblur’s superior wrestling and and still look for any openings in which he could force a submission when they make their way to the ground.

Well thats all we have time for on our main card but here is a run down on the remaining fights on the Preliminary portion of the evening:

265 lbs Frank Barbosa v Jojiro Yamanaka

170 lbs George Palmer v Adryan Preuss

265 lbs Anton Pavlovich v The RocknRolla

155 lbs Little Hardon v Reyki Rhino

155 lbs Gerry Khan v Mac McNult

Gerry "Genghis" Khan (254247)

You know, after a great start to my career i kinda lost focus for a bit. After an impressive 7-1 start to my career, i started to believe my own hype and joined Troid's Next Top Fighter. What an embarrassment! I went 2-8 in that tournament and it really made me think about whether or not i am cut out for a career in MMA.

Maybe it was the weight cut. I slimmed down to 145 for that tournament. But hey, 2-8 is not a run i am proud of.

I am gonna allow myself one more run at a more comfortable 155. I already bounced back with a win, so hopefully this is the beginning of a comeback!

LEGACY! 4 Event Preview

Prepared by Russ T. Shackleford.

Welcome back to another edition of Legacy! We return to the Expo in beautiful Montreal to another event that will showcase many fighters that have taken similar paths and reached the same destination. There will be fighters young and old competing to carve out their own legacies in this developing organization. There are still have many fighters making their debuts and contenders are starting to make themselves known but, we have yet to make any household names. It has become a staple of Legacy! to offer only fair fights that will be exciting to view. Saturday will be no different and our main event will present former CBK Middleweight and Light Heavyweight champion Patrick “Buckshot” Brody as he tries to school his challenger “Great teacher” Onizuka Streseman. Loyal fans have been frothing at the mouth since the announcement of Legacy’s first ever re-match. John Kyle Romo will look to set things right against Autumn Hunter after receiving a narrow decision loss. There will plenty of experienced grapplers facing off as well as your classic David vs. Goliath showdown. Without further adieu let’s get on to the actions!

Main event 205 lbs division

Patrick Brody vs. Onizuka Streseman

Patrick Brody returns to Legacy on a win to take on the veteran Streseman who will be making his debut tonight. These fighters are very different on paper and it will be exciting to see what that translates to when the opening bell sounds. The cuts, mat rash and cauliflower ear are testaments to Patrick Brody’s characters. He’s a tough son of a bitch and wears those injuries as if they were badges and medals. Don’t let that damaged exterior fool you, Brody has a penchant for cutting opponents and dealing more damage than he receives. Patrick is a jack of all trades and has a slight preference to submission victories. He has shown that he’s equally effective striking and doesn’t mind going the distance either. If you know Immortals then you know Brody, whose claim to fame came after an impressive 6 win streak at the start of his career. In that time period Brody dealt defeats to many challenging foes and seized the 205 lb belt, defending it 3 times before surrendering it. Brody was eager to compete in what promised to be one of the biggest events in recent history, Immortals PPV event. Brody fought a clean fight and was able to come back after losing the first round in a unanimous decision over Wes Good. Brody has came into Legacy! strong and managed to pull out a victory over Sam Hall who was the stronger fighter on paper. Onizuka Streseman fans were shocked when hearing the news that Great Teacher was packing up his things to move to Montreal but, it should come as little surprise. Streseman has never felt at home anywhere and has been described as a ronin. From an early age he felt like an outsider, growing up in Denmark half japanese complicated Streseman’s life from an early age. Onizuka identified with his japanese heritage first and formost. After much discussion Onizuka’s parents decided it would be best if they allowed their son to explore his japanese roots. Shortly thereafter they sent him off to the world renowned Samurai High School. There Onizuka began training Japanese Jiu Jitsu and it wasn’t long before the pupil surpassed the masters. After besting many teachers Onizuka took their place and became known as the “Great Teacher” Streseman is 9 years the elder in this fight at 32 years old and has been around MMA for a long time. His career began in Rio after signing with TWD at the age of 19. Streseman had been training for a time before that first fight and came into the scene as a grappling expert with a brown belt in BJJ. Streseman fought hard to capture a title at TWD but, received two losses while in the pursuit. Both were knockouts that ironically came from Wrestling Guy! Streseman’s 7-2 record caught the eye of Las Vegas Prize Fighting where he made a home for himself. Streseman spent an impressive 7 years of his life at LVPF and received 7 OTN awards over the course of 17 wins and 7 losses. Maybe the guy has a thing for 7’s... Brody has never had the best chin but, has compensated with excellent striking defense and devastating counter strikes. Streseman however has struggled with a weak chin ever since he faced down those two knockouts at the hands of Wrestling Guy! He evolved and adopted a gameplan that often sees him come out aggressive early and work takedowns and transition to mount. Although Streseman holds a slight BJJ advantage he will certainly be more cautious on the ground against Brody who will be looking for a mistake to capitalize on. Brody would like to keep this fight standing where he holds a clear advantage but, has never had much need to defend a takedown in the past. He won’t be too worried about stuffing takedowns and will try to punish Streseman for taking the fight to the ground after he deals as many blows as he can. If you’re in attendance, don’t leave your seats because this fight could be over at any minute. I’d be amazed if this one even makes it to the 3rd round.

Co-Main event 265+lbs division

Autumn Hunter vs. John Kyle Romo

Gentlemen and not-so-gentle-man, we have a rematch. John Romo was furious after throwing and landing more strikes resulted in a decision loss against Hunter. Romo came in to the first round with guns blazing and looked to overwhelm Autumn with head strikes. Autumn was wary of his much more aggressive opponent and attempted to snatch Romo’s body away early. Bruised and bearing a minor cut, Romo walked to his corner confident in his ability to score points with strikes. Looking across at Hunter’s bruised face Romo knew he was in trouble. Hunter had taken a beating and received a cut of his own but it hadn’t even stalled him, as Romo reflected on the pain in his ribs he knew that changes would need to be made quickly since this fight was going the distance. After touching gloves at the start of the 2nd Romo unleashed a torrent of body strikes that did little to further his cause. His effort was returned in kind when Hunter clinched up and dealt a beautiful elbow that cut Romo. In the ensuing chaos Hunter landed a flurry of knees. Assured that he was ahead on the scorecards Hunter effectively slowed the pace of the fight following a brief exchange. Unsure of how he was doing in the points, Romo continued his assault upon seeing that Hunter was relaxing. Finally a knee broke free and Romo was able to cut Hunter. Hunter went into a frenzy, knowing that the tide had just shifted. A slugfest ensued that saw both fighters dealing strikes in equal volumes. Romo shifted gears yet again and came into round 3 looking to slow down and gas Hunter with leg kicks and body shots. Hunter came into this match 10 cm taller and was glad to exchange at Romo from a distance but, had trouble landing any strikes even with his superior reach. Romo took the momentum and landed some strikes while looking for an opportunity to clinch. He was able to clinch with Hunter for a time but at the advice of his corner Hunter came out of the clinch pissed and worried that he might lose the final round in a decision. In the final minutes of the third round Hunter gave everything in a last ditch attempt to gain points with the judges. Romo confidently blocked any strikes he could and countered with failed clinch attempts and successful kicks. Both fighters raised their hands after the last round sure that they had won the bout. The smile on Romo’s face disappeared moments later when Hunter’s hand was raised. Talk of a rematch began immediately and both fighters have demonstrated their eagerness at the prospect albeit for completely different reasons. Romo relishes the opportunity to add another belt to his collection and is confident that his loss to Autumn was a fluke. He has never faced 4 losses consecutively in all of his 17 years fighting and doesn’t plan on starting now. He knows overcoming Autumn is a necessary stepping stone to a title shot at Legacy. Autumn is appreciative of the challenge that another fight with Romo presents, and wants to prove to the skeptics that he earned that victory. Unless a chin gives out, the duration of this bout will stay in the vertical after the brawl these two fighters presented in Legacy! 2 These guys are both strikers through and through. Romo is likely to adopt the fight strategy that proved most effective for him in the 3rd round. He’ll be looking to do slow his opponent early on with effective leg kicks and counter striking. Autumn won’t mind this strategy since it puts his reach to it’s greatest advantage and will allow him to paw away with jabs and kicks of his own. Both of these fighters are intelligent and it will be interesting to see how they adjust this time around.

Edward Brown vs William Blake 135lbs division

Two accomplished up and coming grapplers will square off in their Legacy premier event. Edward Brown began fighting with plenty of high aspirations. Following successful high school and amatuer wrestling careers Brown entered into the renowned TWGC where he suffered his only two defeats to date. These defeats checked Brown’s ego and he spent the next year training for a transition into MMA. When some confidence was gained he began taking fights in QFC’s. After three victories Brown was secure in the knowledge that he has what it takes to become a professional fighter and made the next step in his career. Brown signed a four fight contract with Imperial and remained undefeated after facing 3 undefeated fighters in a row. When the time came around Brown chose not to re-negotiate. Legacy! made an offer he couldn’t refuse and now he’s one of the top featherweight prospects in the organization. Legacy! will be no cakewalk though as Brown is now faced with what promises to be the toughest match up in his career. Brown must overcome the accomplished William Blake who has this to say upon signing the fight contracts “Great things happen when men and mountains meet.” A nosey reporter mentioned that Brown has been the more successful fighter on the ground throughout his career. Blake humbly responded “No bird soars too high if he soars with his own wings.” When asked how he felt about his opponent being the better fighter on paper Blake’s frustration became evident and he curtly replied “Nothing can be more contemptible than to suppose Public RECORDS to be True.” While both of these fighters have shown the ability to strike when needed neither, is an accomplished striker. They prefer to grapple and both have shown that they can last for 25 minutes if they need to although Blake has spent significantly more time in the cage. Brown has spent a paltry 65 minutes in the cage, averaging 9 minutes 14 secs in his fights compared to Blake who has more than two times the fight experience with a total of 2 hours 25 minutes and 45 seconds, with an average being a ridiculous 14 minutes long. That’s a really long time in the tycooniverse. Brown is the more aggressive grappler and won’t waste any time taking this one to the mat. He goes all out when trying to submit victims and this has paid off with a remarkable submission success rate that grants the ability to control the pace of fights on the ground. Blake is much more counter minded and will look score points by improving position and looking for submissions from different angles. Blake has shown that he can transition at will against most opponents and has been faced with lankier fighters for most fights. On the other hand, Brown hasn’t had a match up with someone shorter since his QFC days and stated at weigh-ins that his height will not affect the outcome of the fight at all. This fight could very well go the distance but, unlike some grappling match ups this one will be thrilling as both fighters come out strong at the start of their legacies.

Sungwon Jung vs. Kelvin Parker 170 lbs division

In this event we have an excellent match between a knockout artist against one of the truest submission specialists in the game. Hailing from South Korea, Sungwon Jung is known locally as the town’s jovial chef by day. What no-one knows is that at night Jung sneaks off to fight clubs to compete in secret. Unbeknownst to himself Jung was an American submission specialist in a past life and has been drawn to martial arts for as long as he can remember, which is only two years. Jung has come a long way in the two years since he was found half naked by farmers in a field, yelling obscenities at the sun. It’s hard to see through the smile but Jung has been wreathed in sorrow since his discovery and has struggled to manage his morale. Jung believes that fighting will eventually return his lost memories but, has only lost additional memories from the head strikes he has absorbed. Undaunted, Jung continues on a never ending quest to save his memories and morale. Kelvin Parker is a much more stern chap who hails from Manchester, England and takes training more seriously than fighting. Kelvin began making a name in the same Imperial events that Jung was headlining towards the decline of his past life as Isaac Frost. Both fighters had the privilege of holding belts at Imperial but Parker was unable to retain his and surrendered it to the first challenger. Parker fell on hard times in USFC after losing the title and felt as though he had missed a window of opportunity. Parker allowed his contract with USFC to lapse while training intensely in preparation for the battles to come. Now signed with Legacy! he will look to put an end to his two loss streak at the cost of the much more seasoned Sungwon Jung, who has fought more than twice as many fights in the same period of time and a very similar record. Jung has the advantage of being under new management which makes him a bit harder to predict. He will be looking for another victory via submission, that much is obvious. Parker’s record also betrays most his intentions. It shows that he loves to engage in some casual clinchrape when the opportunity presents itself. This isn’t one of those times. Clinching against Jung could mean trouble if Jung pulls guard or lands a takedown and takedowns are Jung’s specialty. Parker loves knocking out challengers but, holds a black belt in BJJ. He has never put it to much use though and it might be time to dust it off. Jung holds a slight edge in wrestling and has trained and tested his grappling non-stop. It’s apparent that someone will have to adapt their strategies for this fight. Will we see Parker attempt to ground and pound or will Jung stand toe to toe with Parker and exchange some blows?

George Bunga vs. Derrick Jon 135 lbs division

In the final fight of the main card, two misfit fighters will see their premier fight in Legacy after a rather humorous weigh in. During the stare down, Derrick Jon was told to step in slightly closer for the photo. He obliged the photographer but, George Bunga didn’t hear the request and perceived this advancement as a threat. Bunga stepped forward smushing Jon’s face into his pecs and neither fighter moved lest they lose face in front of the crowd and that’s how the photo was taken. “Curious” George Bunga took a break from causing trouble for men in yellow hats and decided to instead cause trouble for men in tight shorts and GI’s. Bunga has always been curious and this peaked upon walking into a nearly sold out Expo in Montreal. Up until this point Bunga had mostly been a QFC hero and hadn’t witnessed much professional competition. Bunga was hooked and wanted to hear rabid fans chant his name. With reinvigorated passion for the sport, Bunga quickly signed up with Legacy! with the intention of testing his skills against some of the best in the business. George will have that opportunity when he meets the tried and true Derrick Jon. After losing his first title shot Derrick Jon cuts ties with his manager and organization. It wasn’t long before the 9-2 Jon caught the eye of manager JJ media. Unfortunately, Jon came with a curse and has faced 4 decisions out of the 5 fights they’ve had together. Only once was John’s hand raised under his new management. The two have had a somewhat bittersweet relationship since entering business together. They have chosen to stick through their tough times and hold high hopes that this decision streak will be put to rest soon enough. This match will be a bit of a freakshow as the massive gloved pencil, George Bunga scrambles after a bouncing Derrick Jon who might have the power to reach Bunga’s chin but will never have the reach to get there. Perhaps if Jon asks nicely he’ll be provided a 50 cm tall stool so he can at least look Bunga in the eyes before the opening bell. Once that bell sounds Bunga will immediately begin work on a takedown and chase around the very nimble Jon. George will have a tougher time than usual getting a hold of Jon who has shown a great reluctance to go to the ground in the past. Neither of these fighters are accomplished boxers but, Jon holds a strong advantage in MT and has some dangerous knees in his arsenal as well. When this fight hits the ground it will be any man’s game. George will look to get into side control or guard where his brown belt can be utilized most effectively. Jon has other plans and will use vastly superior wrestling to get in an ideal position to land strikes. Bunga loves using his opponent’s arms for submissions and has managed to make two opponents tap with arm bars and another two with arm triangles. Both of these fighters love side control and this match could be decided on who is able to dominate that position most effectively. If Jon manages to get side control or mount he might actually get a chance to reach Bunga’s chin but, also runs the risk of getting swept away in the face of superior BJJ.

That pretty much wraps this one up for the main card. Let’s move on to the undercard.

Jake Belcher vs. Alfonso Bebeto 205 lbs division

Omar Dijkstra vs. Buster Knott 170 lbs division

Anderson Gracie vs. Angelos Stamatis 185 lbs division

Brodie Grundy vs Giraldo Costanzo 265+ lbs division

Viktor Nova vs. Vaas Haas 205 lbs division

Legacy! 5 Event Preview

Prepared by Russ T. Shackleford.

In this weekly edition of Legacy! we return to the Expo in Montreal where attendance will be at an all time high as local fighters make their debuts tonight. That isn’t the only draw though, There will be many even and entertaining matchups as fighters young and old, tall and short, or weak and strong look to make their mark in this historic event. Tonight’s main event is sure to be a stunner as expert grappler Terrell Grant and lovable Johnny Cage compete for the SHW title. The co-main event will feature two grapplers that fought side by side for a year of their lives at Highland Games. These two will face off for their first time in a David vs Goliath match where the mighty midget will try to overcome a 15 cm height and a 26 lbs weight disadvantage. There will be a lot premiers tonight but many fighters will be returning to Montreal. The third preview deserves an honorable mention and will showcase two fighters that are undefeated in Legacy thus far. Both of those fighters are excellent performers and are coming off very tough, entertaining and, narrow wins. Thanks to the participation of a few managers we took statements from the undercard fighters and gave them the chance to talk a little smack in the pre fight build up. Without out further adieu let’s get on with the action!

Main event 265 lbs Division Terrell Grant vs. Johnny Cage

Welcome to Legacy’s first title fight in the Super Heavyweight division. The not-so-gentle giant, Terrell Grant will face one of the toughest nights in his career as he squares off against the always entertaining Johnny Cage. Terrell has made quite an impression on Legacy fans after earning two first round submission victories in rapid succession. Terrell Grant has been on cloud nine since his recent victory over Constantine Kermit which snapped a short 50% W/L streak and proved that he has what it takes to compete with some of the best. Both of these fighters have managed to gain 14 wins in their time as fighters and Johnny fought four of those fights in a completely different realm, a feat that few other fighters can hope to match. Terrell is a submission specialist and has racked up 11 wins in that fashion and if it weren’t for an opponent walking into his outstretched fist, he would have only had submission and decision wins on his record. Terrell is has been chomping at the bit for a tough opponent and Legacy! was more than willing to oblige. Johnny Cage will walk into this fight looking to conquer a win one lose one streak of his own. John Carlton studied martial arts and acting for most of his life and was engrossed in action movies. As soon as he came of age John moved to LA and took on the stage name Johnny Cage. Johnny’s life as an actor was simple for a time but, scandals like Milli Vanilli turned even the most casual moviegoers in to critics. With his new found fame Cage quickly became the target of much scorn. Skeptics worldwide began to question if Johnny was even capable of performing scenes without a double and that was something his massive ego could not allow. With ticket sales for his movies on the decline, Johnny decided that something had to change fast. Johnny jumped at the opportunity to fight in a tournament that promised to showcase some of the best fight fighters in existence. Johnny decided that fighting in a non-publicized underground organization that had no rules and held fights to death was the next obvious step to gain some hype. He wanted people to know that the badass they saw on screens was the same guy that he looked at in the mirror each day. Cage won three decisions in a row and made it to the MKII finale where his arm and neck were snapped in the only kimura related death on record. Raiden felt like “a real douche” for letting Johnny die when he could have easily thrown in the towel at any point and the gods saw fit to grant Johnny another life. Cage came back swinging and earned an impressive nine win streak in Imperial, seven of which were TKO’s. It was during this time that Cage captured the Heavyweight belt and defended it in a rematch. Johnny’s luck ran out as he suffered the first KO of his career when a new challenger for the belt appeared. A second KO loss followed shortly after and Cage felt it was time for a move. With chips on both shoulders, Cage will be intent on ending a four fight 50% W/L streak of his own at the expense of Grant. Everything will be out in the open on this one as both fighters know what they need to do to get a win out of this fight. Grant might have slightly better boxing but, he’ll be very reserved about striking against Cage who is a KO artist. Grant might paw away at a distance with some jabs and leg kicks for a short time but, he’ll be keeping an eye out for a good chance to score a clean takedown. Double legging a tree might be easier than taking down Cage who once stuffed 22 in a decision win over Buster Bluth. Grant has a reputation for top notch takedowns but, will face a tough challenge here. To take Cage to the ground it might be prudent to chop away at the trunk first. Terrell will be cautious in the vertical with the knowledge that Cage has the power to get to his chin. Johnny Cage won’t want much to do with this fight when it goes to the ground. Grant will try to secure a speedy submission win against Cage who will look to transition to the feet when Grant makes an error. Cage won’t be looking to expose any limbs to Terrell who is similar to McGyver in that he can make a submission from anything that he’s given. Something’s gotta give in this fight and we’ll see if Terrell can force a takedown and submission before Cage can deal a fatality.

Co-Main Event 145 lbs Division Jomlong Kiapoity vs. Warren Parker

A pair Highland Games Brown belts will grapple out their debuts as they seek to test their skills against one another in a very even match up. Kiapoity often attended Muay Thai boxing matches as a young adult but, quickly grew to dislike the art after an unfortunate incident at a match. His favorite MT fighter accidentally slapped Kiapoity in the face while trying to give him a high 5 after a victory. Kiapoity fell over to the amusement of the crowd. Kiapoity then jumped on his idol’s back and rear naked choking him until authorities plucked him from that position. The story went viral and Kiapoity became known as the mighty midget. With a reputation to protect and offers flowing in, the mighty midget began training to compete as a grappler. Kiapoity overcame much larger fighters and managed to win his first two pro fights. The mighty midget presented excellent dedication and determination by sticking with Highland Games for another 14 fights, taking only a brief break to take 2nd place in an Island QFC tournament. While with Highland Games he posted a 9-6 record with 7 of those win via submission. Tensions grew between Jomlong and his manager after the QFC tournament loss and a demoralized Mighty Midget lost his welcome home fight with HG and sought new management. After a 50% W/L rate in his last 6 fights Kiapoity and manager, Aristoteles Onassis decided to take a new approach and they will try their luck in Legacy! this Saturday. Standing opposite, Warren Parker has also recently come under new management as well. Parker has had a bit more success and posted a 60% win out of 5 fights with manager Callum McGregor. A french canadian born in Waterloo Ontario, Parker was well received after landing in Montreal. Warren began fighting in his off time at numerous bars after signing with Montreal’s own ECFC. During this time Warren dished out 2 submission wins and received 2 KO’s. After this he made a brief appearance at CEFC and won both of his fights. Due to contract disputes Parker parted ways with his former manager at this time and took a year off of fighting to explore the world a little. Parker traveled London where he linked up with manager Callum McGregor and began training for the Highlands Games. Parker set up shop in London and has been training there since although, he often makes flights to visit his family and friends. Many of which will be able to view him fight in person for the first time in 2 years. Kiapoity won’t be afforded such a luxury as his family mainly resides in Thailand but, he has received a lot of hype in the build up to this fight and is the more popular fighter by far. This doesn’t bother Warren who is hoping to gain some of those fans after a victory. Jomlong comes into this fight 15 cm shorter and, makes up for this in raw experience. Kiapoity has dealt with taller for fighters for almost his entire career and learned quickly how best exploit a lankier fighters weaknesses. The only difference between this and most of the mighty midget’s other fights is that Parker also holds a weight advantage of 23 lbs. This won’t deter Kiapoity from taking this fight to the ground where he will be more confident. These two fighters stack up pretty evenly on the ground and will provide an entertaining match if they both have their heart in grappling. While Kiapoity has recently earned his first TKO he won’t look to fight where Parker holds the advantage. He will be forced to take this one to the ground as soon as he gets a chance. Parker will come out very aggressive and with options. He could clinch up, try to stuff some takedowns, swing for the fences or shoot for a takedown on his own and regardless of what he chooses it will be prudent for him to land some strikes early and shift the momentum in his favor. When this one makes it’s to the horizontal we should have one helluva spectacle as these advanced grapplers put their evenly matched skills to the test. Parker will likely slow his pace significantly whilst grappling and Kiapoity has worked at submissions with an almost feverish pace in the past. If both of these fighters have a mind for grapplng they’ll be looking to dominate in the guard position. Kiapoity will be aggressively searching for any exposed limb to exploit and might be a bit wreckless in his finishes wereas Parker will be looking to take advantage of that eagerness to finish quickly. Anything could happen at any second of this match and it’s sure to another great one as these two accomplished fighters make their Legacy! premier.

205 lbs Division Edinger Nucleus vs. Wayne Conner

Both of these fighters are coming into this fight off of tough wins in their Legacy debuts. Nucleus tip- toed by Matt Kroblur in a hard fought split decision victory that earned him the OTN award. Edinger knew that the road to success against Kroblur would be paved by leg kicks and bad intentions. If unable to slow Kroblur considerably Nucleus would have had a tough night. Nucleus had success with leg and body kicks within the opening minutes but, Kroblur quickly matched the pace countering with some strikes of his own. Content with the damage he had dealt Kroblur took the fight to the ground. Nucleus fought off any submission attempts with ease and frustrated Kroblur who held an edge in grappling. At the end of the first round Nucleus was up on the scorecard, this led Kroblur to come out aggressive at the start of round 2. Kroblur missed more strikes than he landed and Nucleus began taking the momentum. Kroblur scored a takedown with ease but was yet again thwarted in all submission attempts. Both fighters were getting tired at this point and activity slowed considerably forcing the referee to stand the fighters back up. Nucleus had less success striking this time around and Kroblur was able to block most incoming shots and score with another takedown. This led to nothing and concluded the 2nd round. Both fighters got their second wind and came out strong in the 3rd round. Kroblur looked to soften Kroblur with many damaging shots while Nucleus scored points with excellent striking defense and accurate strikes. At the end of 3 Edinger Nucleus had his hand raised in a contreversial decision win. Wayne Conner also faced a very tough match with a Slade Wilson who controlled the fight for a time and was having success moving into the clinch, landing head strikes and, then shuffling out of distance. Slade had narrowly taken the first round but, had suffered some damage to Conner. Slade was losing the striking battle and knew that he needed to take the fight to the ground. Conner was aware of what was coming and stuffed takedowns with ease. This frustrated Slade who came into the 2nd round looking to build some momentum immediately by instigating a clinch and pounding away at Conner. He weathered the blows and let Slade exhaust himself. Conner needed to be sure he was ahead after losing the first round and unleashed a torrent of strikes with only seconds to spare in the 2nd round. After a particularly stinging blow, Slade smiled and shrugged. Conner smiled back and sent him stumbling to the canvas with a head punch. Slade kept his wits though and tripped Conner while he was advancing to seal the deal. Slade scrambled and held on until the round ended. Conner was looking fresh as a daisy when round 3 started where his dominance really began to show. Slade displayed immense heart but, Conner brought the heat and landed some brutal head strikes that had Slade falling back and looking to hold on until the fight was over. Falling back quickly became a full scale retreat when Slade was rocked, knocked down and, knocked out. Edinger Nucleus is rather cerebral and has proved that by adapting gameplans in his 13 fights, 12 of which were wins. With 7 wins by KO and 1 via TKO it’s no secret that Edinger prefers to knockout his foes but his two submission wins have shown that he’s a capable grappler as well. Edinger is the type of guy who makes you regret taking him down. That doesn’t faze Wayne Conner who is a striker as well and has 5 wins to his name, 2 KO’s and 2 TKO’s. Conner has no business shooting takedowns in the face of superior grappling and will try to keep this one standing at all costs where he can best deploy his strong boxing edge. While both fighters are 23 years old Edinger has a strong advantage when it comes to experience and that can be dangerous when dealing with a man named after parts of the brain. Edinger began training 2 years prior to Conner and won his first 8 fights consecutively. Conner has only fought 8 times. Nucleus will be expected Conner to drop head punches in bunches. If he is to have success against Nucleus it might be wise to switch it up a little and ramp up the leg kicks and body strikes. These two are both excellent fighters and have proven that they can overcome opponents in very difficult situation. They’re both consistently provide shockers and this night won’t be any different.

265 lbs Division Master Wong vs. Travis Browne

Montreal’s own lovable furball, Master Wong has left a successful stint at HMFL in search of some stiffer competition. 30 year old Travis Browne seeks to fill that gap and with 5 years experience in the sport. His aim coming into this fight is to teach the 21 year old master (who has 3 years experience) a thing or two about the sport. Although they go about it in completely separate ways, both of these fighters are KO artists. All of Wong’s wins have come by strikes and he has inflicted 3 KO’s and 3 TKO’s on 7 opponents, receiving a knockout himself. Travis Browne is also an accomplished striker but he prefers to KO his opponents where they stand, posting a professional record of 9-7 with all of his victories credited to strikes. During this time frame Browne captured VFC’s Super Heavy Weight and defended it once before losing it in the subsequent defense. Wong has the much better record but Browne has faced a tougher schedule and has twice the fight experience. This doesn’t concern Wong who has faced older but lesser experienced fighters throughout his career, his opponents posted a prefight combined record of 24-16 compared to Brown’s 95-42. Both of these fighters have a penchant for going home early Browne averages 2 minutes and 58 seconds each match and has spent a total of 47 minutes and 30 seconds of his life in the ring. It’s no surprise that he has twice as much experience as Wong who has spent a meager 20 minutes and 28 seconds in the cage. He offsets this by showing similar determination to end his fights quickly and posted an impressive average time of 2 minutes 55 seconds. Don’t leave your seats, look away or, blink because when two SHW strikers square off anything could happen at any moment especially tonight. Striking defense will play a key role here as the damage these SHW’s can do in one blow is substantial. More importantly these fighters will need to control the pace of this fight as well as where it takes place. Wong’s GNP strategy relies on his ability to take down opponents quickly where he can deal the most damage. If Browne is able to stuff even one takedown attempt it will likely open a chance for stuffing another and go a long way towards improving the odds. Call it Karma but after dealing cuts to his first two victims, Browne was cut himself. It’s been said that he was cursed and that for each opponent he opens gashes on his own become worse. It’s more likely that Browne’s bony knuckles account for his ability to cut opponents and that his aging that skin has become riddled with scar tissue and lost the elasticity it once held. It’s impossible to deny that Browne’s scars have gotten much worse after cutting 10 opponents throughout his career. Wong will have to GNP Browne quickly if he wants to avoid getting blood on his new shorts.

155lbs Division Timothy Poggle vs. Toktogulovich Bakiyev

These two fighters have only two things in common, Bandy and MMA. Hockey and brawling come hand in hand and Poggle learned quickly that he was much better at knocking people senseless than knocking balls into goals. Poggle has never claimed to be a masterful hockey player but, received some notoriety in High School when videos of his hockey fights circulated. The day he turned 18 Poggle signed with AXF and moved to Sydney where he remained until their recent closure. Poggle racked up an impressive 8-1-1 record containing a 7 fight undefeated streak and 145lbs title fight victory. Friends and family unable to travel to Sydney have eagerly awaited Poggles return for 3 years and will flock to the Expo Saturday so that they might witness him at work. On the opposite side of the spectrum Bakiyev was proficient at Bandy and became the star player while competing for his native Kyrgyzstan’s professional team. While training for Bandy consumed much time, Bakiyev took every chance to practice boxing and it wasn’t long before the call of the cage was too much to resist. Bakiyev quit bandy and moved to Montreal on the promise of fame and glory. A language barrier complicated life for a young Bakiyev who entered a TWGC without understanding the rules at all. The ref was forced to intervene a few times when Bakiyev cocked his fist back to punch but, he learned quickly that this fight would be fought with arms and legs not feet and fists. Bakiyev scored a few points but, had realized too late what was going on and lost 7-2. The communication breakdown didn’t end there and Bakiyev lost his next two fights. Manager Paul Huntington has never been one to quit on a fighter when the going gets tough and he decided to enroll Bakiyev in basic english classes. A translator might have been less time consuming but, finding a Kyrgyz translator in Montreal was like finding a needle in 1000 haystacks. Learning english greatly improved Bakiyev’s training and he was able to turn his career around and earn 9 wins and 5 more losses. Bakiyev has never hit very hard and has only knocked out only 2 opponents in 17 matches. This has never fazed Bakiyev who used accuracy and stamina to fight to 7 decision victories and 3 more losses. Both of these fighters are strikers, so a majority of this match up will be spent standing. Poggle has a strong edge in MT and will aim to take control early in this fight with leg kicks and punches, particularly headshots. Baikiyev is a tried and tested boxer and has shown some good head movement but a weak chin in the past. He might not have the power to reach Poggle’s chin but that won’t stop him from trying. Bakiyev will stand at a distance and jab away at the head and body and will likely try to duplicate the results of his previous and leave Legacy! with a KO tonight. When these two make their way to the ground it will likely be by Poggle’s choice, who will put his brown belt to the test against Bakiyev’s purple belt. This match will end one of two ways, a decision victory for Baiyev or a KO for Poggle, anything could happen and it is an excellent fight to open up the main card.

This week we tried something a little different with the undercard and I’d like to thank all the managers that submitted statements for their fighters.

265 lbs division Jyrki Kasvi vs. Farrokh Bulsara

All that Farrokh had to say regarding the fight was "and another one bites the dust..."
Kasvi wasn’t reached for comment.

170 lbs division Alfred Hitscock v Henry White

170 lbs division Kukulcan Tonga v Brendan Murphy

Legacy! 6 Event Preview

Prepared by Russ T. Shackleford.

Legacy welcomes mmaniancs back to our home at the Expo in gorgeous Montreal where our 2nd title fight will take place. If you haven’t read the PBP of the Legacy! 5 title fight between Terrell Grant and Johnny Cage. I would advise that you do that now because, It was one helluva shocker and spoilers will follow. Johnny Cage came out looking to put Grant on his ass early with an insane pace that saw him throw 65 head shots alone. 45 of these head shots connected but, Terrell Grant displayed an excellent chin and took the shots in stride. He was able to score with a handful of takedowns but, Johnny proved too agile and flexible to submit. Terrell bided his time and weathered the assault that went on for nearly 25 minutes before employing the classic Rope and Dope strategy. Terrell had allowed Johnny to punch himself into near exhaustion and then he slipped a takedown with 20 seconds left in the match. Knowing that he needed to sub Johnny for the win Terrell faked a triangle and isolated Johnny’s arm. With only 1 second to spare in the last round Johnny Cage submitted to Terrell Grant who is our new 265 lbs. Champion. The 58th ranked 205 pounder Patrick Brody will look to add another belt to his collection at the cost of the 103rd ranked 205 pounder Ravi Shankoli. These two fighters are about as entertaining as it gets and hopefully they will a tough act to follow after Legacy! 5. In this weeks co-main Geralt of Rivia will engage in some good ole’ smash mouth boxing against William Blake. Veterans are starting to make their names known and this Saturday we will witness many seasoned fighter’s as they make their return to the cage. Front runners have emerged and title fights will become a somewhat regular event from here on out. Enough talk, let’s get on with the previews!

205lbs title fight - Patrick Brody vs Ravi Shankoli

The famous Battered Buckshot Brody has proven that he’s hungry for a title and Legacy! will look to feed to Immortal’s Superstar. Ravi Shankoli has other ideas though, he likes to remove teeth and Brody will have a tough time eating without those. Patrick Brody took command after his debut with the recently closed Immortals and became known for a tendency to cut or quickly submit just about anyone standing in the opposite corner. These feats made Brody the man to beat and he quickly rose through the ranks, skyrocketing in popularity. It’s been five years since Brody took that first Immortals fight and he’s shown the same raw determination and confidence that secured him two titles and 3 defences. Patrick literally came into Legacy swinging and has racked up one KO and one TKO in his first two fights. This momentum has propelled him into the top spot within the organization and tonight he’ll seek to improve upon an impressive 11-2 record. Shortly after his immaculate conception in the Himalayan mountains Ravi Shankoli was given a mission from the creator to destroy darkness from the hearts of all opponents. Ravi took this revelation very seriously and spent much of his life meditating in caves with his parents and guru. Prepared for the battles to come, Shankoli set out to transmutate the darkness of the collective present and convert it into the gold of pure intention. After much meditation Shankoli decided the best way to convert the darkness would be to become a dentist... In spite of discovering how much he enjoyed pulling teeth Ravi knew that he was converting minimal darkness in the dentist’s office and decided that his skills were being squandered. It was around this time that Shankoli wandered into a local QFC and signed himself up with the intention of fighting darkness with his fists. He took a beating but, his years of yoga training paid off and he had his hand raised at the end of three and became hooked. After racking up 4 more QFC wins in rapid succession Shankoli caught the eye of NEX on one of it’s world tour stops. Ravi performed well but, three fights into his career there he was pitted against Stu “The Grim Reaper” Grimson. Shankoli fought a good fight but, was overwhelmed in the face of such powerful darkness. Shankoli succumbed near the end of the first round and had a very long talk with the Creator. We’ll never know for certain what was said but, it worked and Ravi racked up 3 KO wins in a row and then won in a decision. He had come full circle and would face his still undefeated rival Stu Grimson in his first title shot. This time around Ravi’s chin held up for a 25 minute barrage and although he lost in a narrow decision he’s still the only fighter to go the distance with the undefeated Stu Grimson. In the post fight interview Ravi stated that Grimson smelled of death and during the fight he vomited in his mouth and wasn’t the same afterwards. It was shortly after this fight that Shankoli decided to make a change and transition his skills to a more natural weight in the 205 lbs. division. He quickly captured the title and defended it once. After surrendering the belt in a unanimous decision loss Ravi knew that it was time to broaden his horizons. He left NEX with a 15-6 professional record in search of an opportunity to test himself against a strong fighter and Patrick Brody is more than willing to oblige. Ravi loves to throw head shots and has accrued 7 KO’s, 4 TKO’s and 5 decision victories throughout his 5 year career. Brody will come in to this fight with a slight edge over Ravi in all disciplines except boxing. Ravi’s boxing will be paramount in this fight if he is to have success and landing punishing blows early on will be critical. Brody sees this coming and knows that he has options, with the foremost being a superior grasp of BJJ. He loves a good ole’ brawl and will exchange strikes with Shankoli with glee. Brody might be a bit conservative this time around and look to exploit any visible weaknesses. If Shankoli gets the better of the standup game Brody might clinch and posture up for a some big elbows but, the knowledge that this fight could be won on the ground will never be far from his mind. Both of these fighters have the ability to get to each others chins but, Brody will decide if he wants to give Shinkoli the chance. After a shocking title fight in last weeks main event, fans won’t want to miss this one.

Co-main event 135 lbs division - Geralt of Rivia vs. William Blake

Geralt of Rivia and William Blake will return to the Expo after both of them received losses in their debuts. Geralt had sought to avenge one of the few losses besmirching his 12-3 record against TNTF third place winner Jimmy Doyle. It became apparent that Geralt held a vendetta against Doyle early in the fight after he landed what some are calling an intentional strike to the groin. Up until then Doyle had been somewhat aggressive but, the blow had done it’s damage and Doyle wasn’t the same after. Geralt knew that Doyle was hurting and proceeded to beat him like he owed him money for the next three rounds. It wasn’t until the last round that Doyle finally regained his composure and pulled guard. With only 3 seconds to spare in the final round Rivia couldn’t hold on any longer and was forced to tap in lieu of a broken arm. Geralt was furious in his post fight commentary after the end of his 8 fight win streak. With the exception of one fight, all of Geralt’s losses have come by way of submission but, he feels confident tonight in the midst of another grappler. William Blake had similar success in his debut and things seemed to be going well in the first round but they rapidly took a turn for the worst. A very defensive strategy paid off well for Blake who had slightly begun to take the momentum at the start of the first round. Brown was having little luck striking and looked instead to work a takedown. Almost immediately Blake landed a sweep and took up his preferential position in top guard going to work with some GNP. Brown was able to evade these strikes effectively and frustrate Blake into punching the canvas and fracturing his hand. Enraged, Blake continued to throw punches in bunches and succeeded in only worsening his hand and frustration. A lull in the action forced a referee stand up and Blake walked to his corner confident that he has taken the first round, It was at this point that Blake’s adrenaline began wearing off and he realized just how bad his hand was. All aggression had left Blake and he ended up getting rocked at the end of the second round. He displayed true heart and come into the third round looking to deal some damage. Brown was able to work his way into guard and GNP Blake for a decision win. With hand healed and spirits high, Blake is feeling confident that he’ll be able to have more success against Geralt on the ground tonight. He is after all, a submission specialist with 7 in that fashion as well as another 2 decision wins throughout his 9-3 record. Geralt of Rivia is a pure brawl and sprawler and has gathered up 3 KO’s and 8 TKO’s throughout his 12-4 record. Although Geralt comes into this fight a year older at 22, Blake’s career began at 16 and he will have the benefit of some additional training. All things considered Geralt has fought a few more fights and his opponents posted a pre fight combined record of 76-51. Growing up in TNTF amidst fierce competition must have been tough on Geralt but, Blake was forged in the fires of Immortals and faced a tough schedule that saw him capture the 135 lbs belt and defend it 5 times, his opponents posted a PFCR of 56-11. It doesn’t end there though throughout 16 fights Geralt has spent a total of 2 hours and 44 seconds in the cage and average 7 minutes and 33 seconds in each fight. Blake has only had 12 fights and still managed to post a total of 2 hours 55 minutes and 45 secs in the cage which averages out to an unheard of 14 minutes 39 seconds due to his numerous title defenses at Immortals. At a glance these two men appear equal in the vertical but, Geralt has shown much more eagerness to strike than Blake has in the past. Both of these men have excellent chins and I wouldn’t be surprised if this one goes the distance. No doubt that Geralt has sought to improve his grappling in the build up to this fight and we’ll see if he’s able to take advantage of a slight wrestling edge. If his training went well Geralt will try to keep Blake busy with some GNP and try to transition back to his feet where he will be most comfortable. It will be interesting to see what Blake has cooked up after hurting his hand in his last fight. Blake has relied heavily upon his chin in the past and has shown little motivation to shoot takedowns unless he sees a great chance. He prefers instead to let his opponents score with takedowns and make them regret it once they do. That will likely change tonight with Rivia and it’s suspected that Blake has been training takedowns in preparations to this fight. Both of these fighters have outstanding chins and this fight will most likely go the distance.

155 lb division - Charles Bronson vs. Reyki Rhino

Two fighters who share a common enemy with look to pound each other to a pulp in the third event of Legacy! 6. Charles Bronson faced the first loss of his career at the hands of the violent Lorne Malvo. Knowing that Malvo was an excellent boxer Bronson had sought to improve his hands and striking defense before the fight. He covered up intelligently and was able to score with a few counter strikes as well but, Malvo began throwing fancy kicks that were slipping Bronson’s guard. It wasn’t long before Malvo had taken the lead and demoralized Bronson. Malvo got the better of an exchange and sensed that Bronson was close to going down. He advanced and landed a flurry of punches that left a bloodied Bronson sprawled on the canvas. When Bronson came to and realized what had happened a broad smile formed on his face. He had known the risks of fighting Malvo and relished the opportunity to test himself against a fellow EVO KT tournament winner. Bronson might have lost the fight but, he gained the knowledge of where his chin lies and that will be crucial for the duration of his career. This knowledge will likely re-shape Bronson’s past strategies and we’ll see him be a little more cautious against Reyki Rhino who went the distance with Lorne Malvo in our inaugural event. Born in Reykjavik, Iceland Reyki was drawn to his local metal scene from a young age. Unlike most professional fighters, Rhino’s career began not in gyms or tournaments but, instead in mosh pits and back alleys. It was here that his claim to fame began in a wall of death. After killing a man at a local metal show, Reyki became known as the white rhino for the way he had charged head first into the wall of death. For years Rhino had been brawling for respect and he decided it was time that he got paid for it. At the age of 18 he stepped into the cage for the first time and began his 7-4 career. While he needs money to survive, it has never been about the prize for Reyki. He honed his skills in QFC’s just because he enjoyed knocking people out as his 1 KO and 6 TKO’s wins show. Reyki had always relied on striking throughout his life and KT a natural choice when he considered fighting professionally. After winning one and losing on though Rhino switched back to MMA where he has been ever since. This could quite possibly be the toughest night of his career to as he faces off against the accomplished Charles Bronson. These two fighters are very evenly matched and this fight will be a hard one to call. There’s no doubt in my mind that this one will be a slug fest. Charles will seek to edge ahead in the score cards with clean and accurate striking. The Rhino might seek to counter this threat by moving into the clinch with the intention of getting off some headshots. The clinch could be very dangerous if Bronson tries to take this fight to the ground and utilize his brown belt against Reykis blue belt. Being the kickboxer and gentleman that he is I doubt Bronson has any intentions regarding the ground but, there’s a chance that he could get his first submission win against Reyki. He too will have to be cautious as Reyki looks to control and GNP from the top. This is all just speculation of course, These two men are Kickboxers and we’re sure to see that reflected in Saturday’s bout. This one could go the distance but, I think we’ll see it come to a bloody end midway through the second as the chins on one of these fighters gives way. Regardless of who wins this will be a good fight to watch between two former KT fighters.

265 lbs division - Frank Barbosa vs. The RocknRolla

Frank “Operation” Barbosa will commence a sneak attack of his own against the Russian RocknRolla this Saturday. Barbosa grew up boxing under the tutelage of a gruff grandfather who was a former Brigade Boxing Champion in the Navy. His grandfather would often regale a young Frank with tales of combat on the high seas. Frank was obsessed and became well versed in the strategy of that tumultuous decade. This translated well when Frank began his professional fighting career at the age of 18 and Frank showed a knack for out thinking and out striking any opponent he has come across. Due to numerous disagreements, Frank had trouble with his first manager and organization. He broke with the two and found a new manager and organization where he won another fight. Now 3-0 with 3 TKO’s Frank was finally able to fly his aging grandfather to a fight. Frank fought his heart out and his grandfather cheered his heart out literally. 47 seconds into the first round Frank knocked his opponent unconscious and his grandfather’s heart finally gave out due to the excitement. Frank was devastated and spent the next two years roaming the earth alone. During his travels he encountered manager Gwad who convinced him to get back in the gym and earn a title that his grandfather would be proud of. An opportunity presented itself when Legacy! opened it’s doors to the public and Gwad flew Frank to Montreal to compete. Barbosa found a home on Gwad’s roster after winning his first two Legacy fights in the 2nd round. Now he will seek to advance his career and position for a title shot in memory of his late grandfather. You’d never be able to tell from his smug grin and witty remarks but, Johnny Quid has also lost everyone he once held dear. His mind became steel after his mother committed suicide and he suffered years of boarding school and abuse at the hand of his wealthy but mean spirited step father. Johnny was a rather angsty youth and would often get into playground scuffles and raise hell in class. It wasn’t long before Quid was expelled from school and he began a life of bar fights, petty crimes, drugs, woman and music. This changed after Johnny’s father died under mysterious circumstances in a reservoir full of hungry crawfish. His mentor Archie checked him into rehab and when he made his return to the real world Johnny changed his name to The RocknRolla in light of his recent misdeeds. The RocknRolla used all his newly found free time training for a debut in MMA. A mysterious underground network of people formed around The RocknRolla he used these contacts to set up his first professional fight in Immortals. He won his first four fights with ease and was able to acquire the Super Heavyweight title for a short time. After a pair of losses the RocknRolla returned to Russia to ensure that his affairs were in order and train for a move into a different org. He parted ways with manager Bjorn O’Donnel and was snatched up by Damien Washington. The two decided that Legacy! would be the next logical step in his career and it wasn’t long before they signed a contract. Although he lost in his debut against the now heavyweight champion Terrell Grant, The RocknRolla has never sought to improve and was able to KO his next opponent in Legacy! 3. With 4 KOs and 2 KO’s on his 7-3 record it would be no surprise if The RocknRolla looked to snatch another TKO out of this fight. Frank will be happy to stay vertical where he will hold a strong boxing advantage. He loves to KO out opponents as well and has gathered up 2 KO wins in addition to his 4 TKOs throughout his undefeated career. Barbosa loves to finish quickly and finished his first four fights in under a minute so it’s no surprise that he averages only 2 minutes and 53 secs in his fights compared to RocknRollas average of 9 mins and 35 secs in the cage. The RocknRolla has the privilege of entering this fight with over 5 times as much in fight experience as Barbosa who has spent a meager 17 minutes and 20 secs fighting compared to RocknRolla’s total of 1 hour 35 minutes and 53 seconds. Although he has shown a capacity to knock out opponent’s quickly Barbosa has been a bit more cautious under Gwad. The ground ground advantage will go to Barbosa and he might be able to submit RocknRolla if he tried but, it would cost him some damage and stamina and he’s never once shot for a takedown in his life. If Frank wants to takedown RocknRolla he might have to look to the clinch which will be nerve racking against RocknRolla’s powerful elbows. These two are strikers though this one will stay in the vertical as RocknRolla works his superior MT against Barbossa’s boxing. This will be the ultimate test for Barbosa’s chin and I for one look forward to seeing how it holds up

185 lbs division - Liam Davidson vs Kim II Sung

Opening up our main card for the evening two up and comers will look to absolve themselves after losses in their previous matches. Liam Davidson squared off against Matt Kroblur in his Legacy debut with a different strategy than he has previously shown. Coming into the fight Liam was faced with a dilemma, throughout most of his career Liam was able to use his superior grappling and judo against taller and heavier opponents. This time around though Liam was justified in fearing takedowns against the wrestler Matt Kroblur. Liam sought to score as many points as he could at the start of the rounds but, Kroblur had other ideas and was able to score takedowns with ease. Kroblur dominated the ground game and rained strikes on Liam from the top, Liam worked hard on the ground to escape either to his feet or a more advantageous position but, Kroblur was able to defend these transitions rather well. After having little success in his escape attempts Liam resolved to instead try submission but was unable to lock anything in. At the end of 3 round a demoralized Liam Davidson limped home with the first first defeat at 185 lbs. It was only the 3rd loss in his 10 fight career and Liam didn’t consider this a defeat at all. At weigh in’s he quoted the great Vince Lombardi saying, “I didn’t lose fights, occasionally I just run out of time” It will take quite a bit of work to avoid going the distance with Kim II Sung who has seen more decisions than most fighters ever will during his 9-5 record. In his most recent fight with Sam Hall, Sung also took a different approach than he has in the past. Instead of working a sneaky takedown and quick submission Sung instead looked to punch his way to a decision with body shots. Sam Hall was much more aggressive and threw strikes almost exclusively at Sung’s head. a lot of these strikes were able to land home and succeded in only frustrating Sung. He stuck to his guns though and faced a defeat by unanimous decision. It’s rumored that Sung was so furious after that loss that he returned home to North Korea and declared that anyone wearing a hairstyle similar to Sam Hall’s fauxhawk will be incinerated by a flamethrower squad. Shortly thereafter North Korean officials released a pamphlet outlining 28 acceptable hairstyles. It’s unknown how many civilians lost their lives after this recent defeat but, it is obvious that fighters should just let Kim II Sung win. That loss brought Kim II Sung’s pro record to 9-5 depending on which country you live in. North Korean’s believe that Sung has won 267 fights in a row all within seconds of the first round. This will be Sung’s first fight at 185 lbs and fans can’t wait to see how he holds the extra weight. Liam Davidson will no doubt adapt his strategy once again against Sung who holds a black belt in addition to vastly superior wrestling. Liam might be best off swinging away at Sung’s legs and body to better enable him to defend the takedown. Sung has never showed any trouble taking down anyone and he will likely be eager to get back to grappling tonight where he is at his strongest. Sung’s powerful takedown could spell trouble for Liam who hasn’t had the need to train takedown defense much in the past. That has surely changed as he knows that stuffing even one takedown will go a loong way in this fight. Liam has never really tried for a knockout and that won’t change here. It’s unknown how much punishment Sung can take since he’s never received a knockout but it’s become apparent that he can take a substantial amount of abuse. Wise money is on Liam trying to snatch Sung’s body with strikes and cut the legs out from under him with some leg kicks. When Sung scores his takedown he will work any submission he can as Liam struggles to get top guard. If Liam makes his way to the top of the dogpile he will need to transition to his feet with a quickness because, Sung will land a sweep if he’s not careful.

...and that that will finish up this weeks main card and we will move on to the undercard which hosts a gamut of talented fighters looking to advance in the ranks. If you have an undercard fighter in Legacy! feel free to shoot me (Russ T. Shackleford) a message with a brief statement from your fighter.

"Old Doorman" George Palmer:

"Louie loves to see me fighting strikers because its interesting to watch stylistically. Anyway Terry Akki wont let it look interesting, he is a dangerous guy who just want to destroy everything stands in front of him. Yeah I must admit he can kill me with one shot. Well I am a fighter so I will try my best to break him down in such short notice and beat him up. It's a tough task but I gotta go for it. Lets do it Terry. "

Legacy! 7
The Expo

For fans that love knockouts, this next event will surely be pleasing and many of these matches will be nail biters. Congratulations to the new 205 lbs champion Patrick Brody! In an amazing display of athleticism Brody controlled the pace of the fight completely and hampered everything that Ravi Shankoli threw his way, taking every single round on the judges scorecards. Brody is surely deserving on the title and will defend it with his life. There are a few contenders making a rise through the ranks and Brody will have his work cut out for him in the weeks to follow. This Saturday’s main event will feature the 120th ranked 155lb fighter Charles Bronson as he defends his position against the 121st ranked Vincent Oketch. Undefeated in Legacy! thus far, George Palmer will look to add another win to his streak of two against the newly arrived Terry Akki in a match that will surely be over quickly but, in whose favor? Many thanks to any fighters that took fights on short notice. If you’re managing a Legacy! fighter and you have some time to burn today, head on over to the smack talk thread and spice it up a bit. Enough rambling, Let’s get on with the action!

Main event 155 lbs. division - Charles Bronson vs. Vincent Oketch

The immensely popular Charles Bronson will continue to fight for redemption after receiving the first loss of his career at the hands of Lorne Malvo in Legacy! 3. Charles had seen the fight against Malvo as a highlight of his career and considered hanging up the old gloves after losing. A heart to heart talk with his manager Gwad convinced Bronson to stick around and come back twice as strong. Since then Bronson has proven that he’s still the man to be feared after dominating Reyki Rhino in Legacy! 6. Charles knew that he had the better stamina going into the fight and took advantage of Reyki’s smoking habit by setting a fast pace that was maintained for the majority of the fight. After the opening bell these fighters felt each other and it quickly became obvious that both men were looking for a knockout. Few punches were landed in the first and it was too close to call but, the general consensus is that Bronson inched ahead. The second round was a different story, Bronson had gotten down Reyki’s timing and dominated the next two rounds. Sensing trouble mid way into the 3rd round Reyki threw caution to wind and started going all out. A very confident Bronson adopted a defensive stance and looked to capitalize on his opponent’s aggression with damaging counter striking. For the first time in his career Bronson opted to throw a head kick and Reyki was shocked, barely managing to pull a hand up in a half hearted attempt to block the strike. The damage was done though. Bronson was able to slip in a few more punches and send Reyki plummeting to the canvas, adding a 6th TKO to his 7-1 record. The win gave Bronson a huge burst of confidence and he’s decided to stick around for a while and build some experience that will be much needed if he has to face his rival Lorne Malvo again. Showing true guts, Bronson has taken this fight on short notice and Vincent Oketch will have the benefit of a couple extra days in the gym. Oketch will make his Legacy! debut tonight after parting ways with the now closed traveling circus known as NEX where he posted a 13-3 record that saw him capture the 155 lbs belt and defend it 6 times consecutively. When the Oketch family lost their first born son of heart failure brought on by elephantiasis of the bilateral lower limbs and buttocks, the family decided to have another child. It wasn’t long before their second child was born and they named him Vincent after his older brother. Growing up in Peta, Uganda was hard on a young Oketch and he was consistently berated by older boys who had believed his deformed brother was a monster. This hardened Vincent and he was forced to fight for his families sake on numerous occasions. The instant he turned 18, Vincent moved to Los Angeles with the hopes of a brighter future and he began his career in MMA win a QFC win. He’ll be hoping to duplicate the previous success he saw in NEX with a submission win over the accomplished kickboxer Charles Bronson. Vincent has proven that he’s dangerous in all aspects of a fight and has managed to pull out 5 (T)KOs, 6 submissions and two decision wins. With the exception of 1 submission, all of Oketch’s losses have come from decisions and In addition to that, he’s never been cut and has only been rocked once. Charles on the other hand is a bit more one dimensional, It’s no secret that he likes to punch and kick his way to victory as his 7 (T)KOs and 2 decision wins show. He has been cut a few times before and recently received his first and only KO. This won’t faze Bronson, he’ll stick to his guns and use his 4cm height advantage and sensational boxing to paw away with accurate jabs and low kicks while he gets a feel for Oketch. Bronson could do some good damage if this fight makes it into a clinch but, he’ll likely avoid any opportunity for Oketch to drag him to the ground. Oketch on the other hand will likely test his boxing against Bronson and if all else fails he has options on the ground but, will struggle to use them against Bronson’s impressive defensive grappling.

Co-main 170lbs division - Terry Akki vs. George Palmer

This next fight will be a race as Terry Akki rushes to knock out George Palmer before he can score a takedown. Born into the Teriyaki Clan of Hiroshima, Japan Terry Akki was destined to be a warrior. As is customary in his family, Terry began engaging in combat training at an early age and took a liking to boxing. His education in the tactics of the Pacific war sparked an interest in military aviation and Terry began playing simulations that allowed him to relive the war in the cockpit of a Mitsubishi Zero. The simulations weren’t enough for Terry Yaki though and just shy of his 18th birthday he decided to go to an airshow and see a Zero fly in person. Akki wanted the real deal though and seized an opportunity to jump the fences and steal a plane that was unattended and idling. Terry had no problems taking off and discovered that his plane contained external fuel tanks. Worried that his father would force him to commit Seppuku when he was caught, Terry aimed his plane towards the Philippines and sought asylum. After interrogation revealed that Terry wasn’t the first wave of a second invasion he became known as the flying jap and the U.S. granted him asylum in Las Vegas. Short on cash Akki, knew that he would have to put his combat training on sale if he were to gain glory in this distant land. Eager to test himself in combat, Akki signed a fight contract with GFC and won his first two matches in under 1 minute by TKO and KO respectively beginning a career that encompassed 8 (T)KO wins and 5 (T)KO losses. It’s become apparent that Akki has struggled with his chin amidst a schedule that saw him face off against numerous strikers. For the first time in a while his chin will get a much needed rest as he faces off against the submission specialist George Palmer, whose chin won’t be so lucky. Palmer has always been extremely aggressive on the takedown and diving in has caused him to receive 5 (T)KOs throughout his 15-8 career. Those aggressive tactics have paid off though and awarded him 11 submission victories. George and his brother Santiago sibling rivalry often got heated when they were young. The two would wrestle until their parents pulled them apart. As the boys got older, their parents weren’t able to separate them as easily and failing all else they decided to enroll their sons in high school wrestling. This provided an excellent diversion for the angsty youths and both showed promise at the sport. When they came of age they began sparring together and moved to Las Vegas to begin their careers. After promising that they wouldn’t fight each other, the two signed with different organizations and shared an apartment. Things were great for a while and Santiago consoled George after his 5 win streak was snapped in his first and only title shot. This quickly changed when Santiago captured a belt and George became jealous. Sick of living in his younger brother’s shadow, George decided it was time for a move and made his way to Montreal while Santiago moved to New York. Since signing with Legacy! George has made his presence known by submitting his first two opponents and he’ll be looking to keep that same spirit alive this Saturday. George will come into this match 7 years the elder at 30 years old with 22 fights under his belt compared to Akki’s 13 fights. Both of these men are finishers and typically end their matches in the first round. Akki however tends to finish nearly twice averaging 3 minutes and 18 seconds compared to George who averages 7 minutes and 8 seconds. Neither fighters will waste any time at the start of this race, Akki knows he needs to stuff takedown attempts and land as many punishing blows as he can. The clinch could be his friend in this fight. George will have to advance under heavy fire and work a takedown and quick submission before Akki transitions back to standing, a deed he has never failed to complete successfully.

170 lbs division - Kelvin Parker vs. Dong Uk

The third event on the main card could feature a slight role reversal as Kelvin Parker returns to Legacy to fight another South Korean. Kelvin Parker had booming success in his Legacy debut against the lovable “Smiley Chef” Sungwon Jung. At the very start of the match Sungwon Jung underestimated Kelvin’s MT and engaged in a clinch, This fit into Kelvin’s game plan perfectly and he was able to land 10 out of 11 headshots and 10 out of 19 body shots. Jung quickly realized his mistake but, it was already too late. The damage had been done and Kelvin was feeling great about the clinch. He re-engaged the clinch and pulled Jung to the ground. After a quick reversal Parker was on top and Jung was helpless under a barrage of strikes. It wasn’t long before the demoralized Jung submitted to avoid any more damage. managed Kelvin Parker managed to earn a brown belt at a young age but, he has always prefered to strike his opponents instead. Now 23 years old, that same belt has since turned black and has served only to hold up Kelvin pants and deter wary foes from takedowns. His reluctance to grapple in the past has many fans speculating that Kelvin’s belt was earned by taking an online BJJ course. Nevertheless he will go into this fight with superior BJJ. The 25 year old South Korean Dong Uk on the other hand, is a master Hapkido practitioner who enjoys tossing his opponents or making them submit. In spite of this, Dong is somewhat well rounded and has displayed that his country's open handed stances can be very effective in counter striking. Dong Uk will enter this fight with much better boxing but, If he is to bring that to the table he must stand toe to toe with Parker who has shown that he has the power to get to most chins. Although evenly matched in MT at a glance, Parker has shown domination of the clinch in his previous bouts and it’s very likely that that clinch will be in effect at this event. Dong will enter this fight with a significant experience advantage both in age and in fight experience and has won more fights than Kelvin has fought throughout his career. Kelvin has had the much tougher schedule though and his opponents posted a pre fight combine record of 61-29 and it should be noted that 5 of these fights were against much older opponents. Dong’s opponents gathered up a PFCR of 69-49 and nine of those fights were against slightly younger opponents. Will Uk’s superior wrestling and knowledge of Hapkido improve his chances in the clinch or will he seek a takedown? This one will be hard to call and anything could happen at any moment.

170 lbs division Sam Hall vs Liam Donnelly

Two hometown heroes from Dublin, Ireland will look to gain fame both in Montreal and abroad as they fight to prove who's the stronger Celtic warrior. Sam Hall returns to Legacy! after a stunning decision victory over Kim II Sung who had quickly gained momentum up until that point. Hall knew that if we was going to have success against Sung he would have to wind him by stuffing takedowns early and that’s exactly what he did. Only two minutes into the first round Sam had stuffed 3 takedowns and Sung was beginning to perspire, Sam had gotten in his head and negated one of Sung’s most dangerous weapons. Sung was panic stricken at this point and decided to stand toe to toe with Hall and land some strikes of his own but, he made a fatal error in underestimating Hall’s striking ability. As Sung advanced Hall stayed on the outside and connected with numerous body shots to compound Sung’s stamina issue. Dismayed, Sung sought to even the score with some knees in a clinch but, his success was limited. The second and third rounds continued in much the same way. Hall would control the pace early in each round and a disheartened Sung would swing away in the last half trying to recover but, his efforts were for nil as Hall proved he can defend Sung’s strikes just as well as he could defend his takedowns. After 3 round the inevitable occurred and Hall had his hand raised over a defeated Sung after landing 14 out of 20 headshots. It was also inevitable for Sung to berate the western world in his post fight new conference. He’s been quoted as having said ‘Eat my feces you filthy capitalist dog!' It’s apparent that Sam Hall has become a new man under manager Scott Davies and the pair have big plans for the future as they take on Liam Donnelly. At the young age of 18 Liam had fallen into the IRA and became known as the guy you wanted next to you in a scrap. This notoriety came with a penalty and he caught the attention of police. Liam was tipped off and cleaned up his act, giving the police no reason to suspect him of any wrongdoing or so he thought… In a day long sting operation police photographed Donnelly drunk in a bar, smoking tobacco on Grafton Street and, refusing to offer a leprechaun a portion of his meal. To his surprise Donnelly discovered that all of these things were illegal under Irish law. Seriously, Google it. I’ll wait... After calling Liam a ‘gobshite’ the local judge sentenced him to five years in prison where he offered his protection in exchange for pruno and cigarettes. In only a matter of days Donnelly was in the limelight and the warden took notice. He sensed an opportunity and began an exchange program that allowed Donnelly to fight outside the prison in professional fights. The stipulations were that Donnelly must surrender all prize money to the prison in exchange for a one year reduction of his sentence for each victory. Naturally Donnelly fought hard and won his first 5 professional fights with ease but, the warden failed to uphold his end of the bargain and Liam was enraged. He began throwing every other fight in order to reduce the warden’s profit. The scandal became public and to avoid a lawsuit Donnelly was released from prison and given his prize money. Now 9-4 Donnelly intends to right the wrongs on his professional record as he makes his premier in Legacy! Both of these fighters possess sensational boxing and it will certainly be on display in this fight, with that said these two have put up nearly even numbers throughout their careers and it’s hard to pick who has the edge but, Sam Hall is the larger fighter by 9 cm and 18 lbs while Donnelly has never been knocked out. Sam will also have a strong advantage in wrestling and MT and he’ll be looking to dominate from the top if this fight goes to the ground. Liam will have options when he’s on his back and he’s going to try to force Liam into his guard or land a sweep and control from the top.

265 lbs division Robbie Luatua vs Dave Brown

To open up the main card of this event two of the big boys make their legacy debuts and will fight to position themselves for a shot at Terrell Grant’s 265 lbs. title. It has yet to be determined if these two have the skills but, there’s no doubt that they will both bring everything to the table to convince you! Born and raised in Christchurch, New Zealand Robbie Luatua was fond of making faces at passing motorists as a child. One day his father told him that if he continued to do that his face might get stuck that way forever. He laughed at the jest but, he had been cursed. As he grew older Luatua took an interest in the family business that would one day be his inheritance. After a series of earthquakes the Luatua’s lost their home and business. It was at this time that Robbie learned that his father had been squandering the insurance money for the properties on scratch tickets and farmville. The disgusted look he gave his father as he left to LA remains on his face to this very day. Robbie lost his MMA debut but, there was no turning back as he had nothing for him back in New Zealand. He trained harder than ever and won his next 4 fights consecutively and earned a bit of financial security to begin rebuilding his life. After those first 4 fights Luatua faced a hard schedule that culminated in a victory over RocknRolla in Immortals PPV event. With nearly $75k in his bank account Luatua stopped fighting for the money looong ago. Now he likes to step into the ring and imagine his challenger is his father before knocking them out. The strategy has thus far proven very effective and he has punched his way to 4 KO’s, 3 TKOs and the 1 decision win. Whether he’s in the horizontal or the vertical Dave Brown is dangerous. Throughout his career he has acquired 6 (T)KO in addition to 3 submission wins. Dave has however had bad luck with decisions and has narrowly lost every one with the exception of a fight that ended in a draw mix, that with a narrow split decision loss and you have a man who lacks any faith in the judges. This has been reshaping Dave’s strategy throughout his entire career and regardless of what the horribly incompetent judges say, Dave keeps on smiling. Luatua usually swings away at most opponents and will it’s probable that we’ll see his aggressive side in this match up. They might be evenly matched up in the boxing department but, Dave Brown has the honor of bringing world class MT into the cage wherever he goes. Instead of using this Muay Thai for clinch work, Brown instead prefers to kick. A punch from a heavyweight fighter would knock out most people but, a head kick? Now, that’s a different story and Brown has some of the best. He enjoys dealing them out very conservatively when his foes least expect it. Since neither of these fighters have ever landed a takedown fans shouldn’t hold their breath in expectation of one but if this fight does go to the ground Luatua will attempt to transition to his feet while Brown uses his superior BJJ to work a submission.

If you made it this far thanks for reading the preview :) Almost all legends start on the undercard so be sure to check it out below and keep note of up and coming contenders!

Big news coming out of Legacy! this week. If you live under a rock then you might not have heard that Legacy! has opened sign ups for the “Cement your LEGACY! tournament.” The tournament will take place in the 185 lbs and 205 lbs divisions and the reward is a hefty 2 million dollars to the winner of each division! That means that if you have a contender in each division who wins, you could fly home with a grand total of 4 million! It’s highly unlikely for you to win both pots but, there’s no harm in trying. What would you do with 2 or 4 million dollars? Buy a private jet? Circumnavigate the world? Buy priceless artifacts to shoot at your indoor range? Hunt endangered animals? Personally, I would light my cigars with hundred dollar bills and enjoy the feel of my bald eagle slippers as I fry the last remaining dinosaur eggs into omelets but, that’s just me. How disappointing would it be to lose in the finale? Not at all because, you’ll still walk away with a healthy 500k which is well worth the brain damage your fighter will experience. If you have a fighter that wants in head on over to the forums and sign him up! http://www.mmatycoon.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=51198&do=findComment&comment=702083 With signups currently moving along alittle slower then expected LEGACY! is not one to sit back and wait it out, we are open to discussing other weight classes if it means bringing in 16 top talents to compete to take home our money, please feel free to vote if you wish to enter a fighter in any available weight class and we will review the results in the coming days!

In other news, our sister company HÉRITAGE has moved to Montreal and risen to the 3rd most hyped nutrition company in the world. HÉRITAGE offers a line of supplements for your every need. If you’re new to the game and lacking funds we have a Power supplement line for you. Head on over to high street and show us some love. Shameless self plugs aside, we have quite the spectacle set up for this Saturday. In our main event the 45th ranked LHW in the world Patrick Brody will defend his still bloody belt against the 135th LHW Edinger Nucleus. The Co-main event will feature our first title fight in the 170 lbs. division as Kelvin “Shinobi” Parker takes on the accomplished Terry Akki. This Saturday will showcase many classic match ups that pit brawl and sprawlers against submission specialists.

Main event

205 lbs. title fight - Patrick Brody vs. Edinger Nucleus

The battered bastard Patrick “Buckshot” Brody makes a triumphant return to Legacy! after a decisive victory over Ravi Shankoli. Standing opposite of Brody will be the adaptive Edinger “Westphal” Nucleus who has shown he’s just as intelligent as the two doctors who leant him his name, Karl Friedrich Otto Westphal and Ludwig Edinger. Brody took the reigns early in his match against Ravi Shankoli and dished out some punishing blows that set the pace for the rest of the fight. He had great success with numerous head and body punches as well as some well timed elbows. However, it was excellent clinch control and damage from Brody’s leg and body kicks that shifted the momentum early in the first round and left Shankoli hobbling back to his corner. Ravi had trained for the clinch extensively but, after being pinned against the cage amidst a maelstrom of strikes for nearly 2 and half minutes Nucleus was keen to avoid clinching at the start of the second round. At this point into the fight Brody was feeling a bit cocky and tried to goad Shankoli into getting angry and making mistakes with a huge slap just under a minute into the second round. The ploy worked perfectly and Ravi started throwing out everything is his arsenal in an attempt to get a little payback but, Brody bobbed and weaved smartly and landed some solid counter punches. Brody returned to his corner at the end of the second with his arm raised and wide grin on face whereas Shankoli was noticeably limping and beginning to show large welts along his ribs and legs. Brody knew his opponent was irritated at this point and decided to compound that frustration with a booming kick right into Shankoli’s genitals. After a 5 minute respite Shankoli agreed to continue the fight in spite of the protestations from his weary legs and testicles. His heart was admirable but, so was the beating that Brody dealt out for the remainder of the fight. It was no surprise when Brody had the 205 lbs. belt wrapped snugly around his waist after the grueling 25 minute bout. Brody has proven that regardless of his opponent, He dominates the ring everytime he steps into it. Nucleus knows what’s coming though and after his brutal beatdown Wayne Connor in Legacy! 5 he’s confident that he’ll be able to stem the tide early. The first minute of Nucleus’ match was spectacular and fans were ecstatic at the pace these two fighter set and the sheer volume of kicks as well. Connor was in for the long haul and directed most of his kicks towards the legs and abdomen. Nucleus had other plans and used his yoga mastery to throw his leg upside Connor’s head with amazing results. Both fighters landed some great strikes and Connor succeeded in cutting Nucleus but, Edinger only smiled. A confused look spread across Connor’s face as he wondered “Why is this guy smiling? that cut is going to lose him this match” His question was answered almost immediately when Nucleus landed a massive head kick that sent Connor to the canvas. Edinger was quick to capitalize on the flash KO by diving in and seeking to ground and pound a finish out of Connor. Nucleus was however very cautious and landed only a handful of strikes before Connor recovered. Nucleus transitioned rather well and was able to retain the dominant top position for the remainder of the round although had little luck with sub attempts. The remainder of the fight was all Nucleus and each round went the same as the first. Nucleus walked out fresh as daisy and put Connor on his ass with a kick or strike and began working the ground and pound as well as some sub attempts. At a glance Brody holds an edge in all disciplines but, BJJ. Surely Nucleus’ head kicks will be a huge x factor in this fight. Brody has shown that he can throw dangerous kicks as well but he lacks the flexibility to get those kicks at head level consistently. He will however compensate for this with a huge boxing advantage and it will be interesting to see if Nucleus decides to take this fight to the ground where the two are more evenly matched. Will Brody hold on to his title against Nucleus who is thus far undefeated in Legacy? Only time will tell.

Co-main event

170 lbs. title fight - Kelvin Parker vs. Terry Akki

Welcome to Legacy’s first title fight in the 170 lbs. division! There’s no doubt about this, Kelvin Parker will look for his 3rd first round win in a row against the KO artist Terry Akki. Terry will no doubt be looking to sprawl and add another knockout to his streak of two. Kelvin Parker has made waves after being matched up against two difficult opponents and shattering speculations about his intentions both times. Kelvin is specialist and the more matches he fights the more it shows through. He came into his fight against Dong Uk with what appeared to be severe disadvantage in the boxing department. Kelvin loves when people underestimate him and although he had less experience sparring he compensated with brilliant technique and accuracy. Uk mistakenly thought he was going to have an easy night against Kelvin and sought to increase his boxing in the build up to the fight. Parker had other ideas and sought to prove the skeptics wrong by training up his striking defense before the fight. At the start of the fight both fighters brought their A game. Neither of them were having much success landing strikes accurately although Uk’s aggression was winning him more opportunities and scoring him more points. Sensing a shift in momentum Parker moved into the clinch where the fight appeared to be a little more even. Appearances are something to reckoned with when facing Parker and he became very aggressive in the clinch, landing some solid uppercuts and body shots. Initially Uk was unfazed, that changed after a damaging shot knocked the wind out of him and he broke the clinch. Uk was hurt and Parker knew it, the two exchanged a barbarous volley in which Uk landed a solid shot that broke Parker’s nose. Parker stayed collected and stepping back he wiped the blood from his nose and examined it. Laughing, he swaggered forward and slipped Uk a huge overhand right that send him plummeting towards the canvas. Parker jumped on the unconscious Uk and pounded him until the ref ended the fight. Terry Akki also saw success in his debut against George Palmer. Both fighters knew their assignments, George’s success hinged on his ability to score the quick takedown and Akki was more than prepared for this. He came in with a mind to counter and had no fear of Palmer’s boxing ability. This fact was highlighted as Akki dodged strikes and takedown attempts easily. In just over a minute Terry had stuffed 3 takedowns and avoided every strike with ease. It had appeared that Akki was employing the rope and dope to great effect and then George leveled the playing field with a strong takedown into Akki’s guard. For the first time in his life Terry was having trouble transitioning back to vertical and George let him struggle and wear himself out. The crowd was outraged by the lack of activity and the ref stood the fight up to avoid a riot. Having no time to prepare for his trip to America Terry was no expert at the language but, he didn’t need to be a cunning linguist to realize that the crowd was noticeably upset. Akki thought that he might have done something wrong and began second guessing his every move. A quick talk with a cornerman at the end of the first enlightened the confused Akki and he stepped into the next round a changed man. When the opening bell sounded Palmer rushed across the cage and tried to score with another takedown. Akki was prepared and began chipping away at Palmer with crisp clean jabs. Palmer was winded at this point in the fight but he knew what he had to do; shoot and land takedowns. Terry was determined to avoid this and when Palmer did score a takedown his lack of activity allowed Akki to escape to his feet. Palmer was exhausted at this point and gasping for air. Akki was still breathing with his mouth closed. The momentum shifted and George was in trouble. From here on out Akki took control and dominated the fight with counter punches. It wasn’t long before the beating took it’s toll on Palmer and with only a minute and half to spare Akki was able to pull off a beautifully timed head kick that sent Palmer plunging to the ground with only 1 minute and a half to spare. At a glance Akki will have a strong advantage in the standup game and a strong disadvantage on the ground. Akki’s last fight proved that he can stuff 23 takedowns in a fight if he needs to and if Parker wants to take this one to the ground he will have to rely on pulling guard in a clinch. With 7 wins by TKO and 1 by decision Parker is a knockout artist and it’s impossible to tell how he will adapt to tonight's fight, he’s persevered through numerous boxing disadvantages and has still never been knocked out. We can’t forget that Parker is a black belt even though he gave up BJJ when he realized how much time it would take him to earn his red belt online. Akki however has received all 9 of his wins and all 5 of his losses via (T)KO. There’s no doubt that Parker has options going into this fight and we’ll see if Akki has what it takes to counter Parker’s threats.

265 lbs. division - Merkan Killmaz vs. Nick fjera

In the third event on Saturday’s main card two former NEX fighters take an old quarrel into a new cage as they make their premier appearances Legacy! After scouring the Asian-Pacific islands for ‘cheap’ labor for his company’s sweatshops, manager Kanis Lupis decided that it was time for a well earned break. the Grey Wolf directed the pilot of his private jet to change their heading to Hawaii, Kanis intended on soaking up some sun while his new ‘laborers’ whittled away at his workload. Lupis is the type of guy who enjoys sunsets, long walks on the beach, margaritas and piggy back rides so Hawaii was the obvious choice for him. One particular evening the grey wolf was riding his favorite Islander along the beach whilst sipping a margarita and enjoying the sunset when he came upon a commotion. He spurned his faithful steed onward to discover a group of 6 Haole’s harassing a massive native with a tattooed face. The men were apparently upset that the native was fishing in ‘their’ spot. Whilst being berated by the haole the massive native was slowly wrapping his fists and forearms with his hempen fishing rope and would occasionally reply to their insults with “poho.” Kanis sensed a fight brewing and urged his steed onward. When the islander finished wrapping his hands he removed a samurai sword from his back and stuck it into the sand before knocking out each man in turn with a single punch or kick. A look of panic spread over Lupis’ face when the Hawaiian turned towards him and began approaching but, he released a huge sigh of relief when the man grabbed his margarita and downed the whole thing (little umbrella and all) in one huge gulp. Wiping his lips the Hawaiian looked Lupis in the eyes and said “Ona, Mahalo.” Knowing talent at a glance Lupis sputtered “Do you want to fight? I mean… not me but, like… other people. For money! I’ll pay you very good!” The native was deep in thought for a moment, “Whaat?? If I can fight… I don’t have to go fishing… HAHA awesome bra… Cause I am SIKK of fishing.” Lupis held out his hand and introduced himself, The Hawaiian replied in kind by crushing the grey wolf’s hand and replying in a gravely voice “Merkan Killmaz.” It wasn’t long before Lupis signed the 25 year old Killmaz up for the newly opened NEX. Killmaz rose through the ranks quickly and over the course of his 5 year career with NEX he went 11-7 and earned himself 2 title shots but, failed to win in either fight. It was during this time that Killmaz encountered Nick Fjera. Merkan was able to split Nick’s head open with a lethal high kick but, his success was short lived and Fjera took the fight to the ground and submitted Killmaz in short order. Killmaz will be out for vengeance against his rival as he seeks to prove himself to the naysayers. Born into a wealthy household Nick Fjera had a great life growing up in Minneapolis, Minnesota and he lacked very little. He developed a voracious appetite as a child and everyone knew that he would grow up to be a big boy. Summer days were often spent racing ski-doos at local lakes and Fjera grew to love watersports. The first chance he got, Fjera began racing competitively and showed enormous potential. As time went on Fjera’s knowledge of mechanics grew at the same rate as his waistline and his victories became more and more narrow. While reviewing a rulebook Nick was surprised to learn that it didn’t dictate what type of fuel could be used in a jetski. He traveled to St. Paul International airport and purchased some jet fuel. Fjera set about making the necessary mods to his jetski and come race time Fjera left his opponent’s in the dust… mist? something like that. Regardless, Fjera won all heats of the prestigious TC lake pro tournament. Fjera raced a few more times afterwards but, it wasn’t a challenge anymore and he needed something else to focus his on. A mutual friend introduced Fjera to manager Nick Force and the two became pals. It wasn’t long before Fjera was roped into Force’s roster and training full time. Fjera passed his first test with flying colors in a first round QFC KO and he attracted the attention of the world renowned LVPF. Fjera was never very comfortable in Vegas and after 4 submission wins, 1 draw and no title shot Nick was ready to move on. Nick wanted to travel the world whilst fighting and he jumped at the opportunity to fight on NEX’s world tour. NEX thought they had finally found the man to defeat their heavyweight champion and they signed Fjera to a 4 fight contract promising a title shot immediately. Fjera was unable to conquer the powerful Stu Grimson and for the first time in his life Nick was knocked out, it wasn’t the last time either. After an additional two submission victories Nick felt ready to fight Grimson again. Fate had different plans and Nick succumbed to Grimson’s awe inspiring power yet again and received the second and last KO loss of his career. In search of greener pastures Fjera decided to take his talent to Montreal and make a name for himself in the newly formed Legacy! If the past is any indication of what the future has in store then Killmaz will be looking to exploit Fjera’s cuts with some aggressive striking at the start of this match. Fjera will seek to cover up smartly and attempt to land a takedown before he transitions to guard or mount. Killmaz can sweep with some of the best but, he’ll be in danger if Fjera gets into guard on the bottom where he is most dangerous. This is a heavyweight fight and both men are finishers. It would be very surprising if this fight makes it’s way past the 1st round.

265 lbs division - Taw DawTang vs Anton Pavlovich

Legacy! has become a new home to many former NEX and Imperial fighters and in 4th event on this Saturday’s main card we pit one versus the other as Taw DawTang challenges Anton Pavlovich in his Legacy! debut. After witnessing DawTang beat his Hawaiian prospect Merkan Killmaz on two seperate occassions, manager Kanis Lupis knew what he had to have DawTang for himself. After some shady back alley deals, DawTang entered Lupis’ service. In the time honored spirit of vengeance Lupis sent DawTang straight to sweatshops where he began his ‘training’ by hauling massive loads of laundry through miles of underground tunnels. DawTang was already a strong man to begin but, two years of indentured servitude grew his trapezius’ muscles to unnatural proportions and toned his body. DawTang would often become enraged by his captivity and snap on the nearest guard and break their limbs. After numerous private settlements DawTang was costing Lupis a lot of money and he decided that if DawTang was going to fight he might as well turn a profit from it. To spite his owner DawTang, threw his first fight under Lupis and lost for the first time in his now 7-1 career. The trouble didn’t end there. Taw won his next fight under threats of punishment but, moral hit an alltime low and DawTang was no longer scared of the little wolf man’s threats. He threw another fight and allowed himself to be submitted. Lupis had seen DawTang’s handiwork before and knew what the man was capable of and he wasn’t ready to give up. The two were finally able to come to terms and DawTang went on a 4 win rampage all but one of which came in the first round. Taw had earned Lupis’ trust and place in his heart. In reparation for his years of neglect Lupis informed DawTang that he was a free man but, DawTang refused to leave. He had recently discovered boxing and decided that he wanted to continue punching people in the face. The two came to an agreement and Lupis agreed to allow DawTang to remain in his service. NEX was closing and Lupis sensed opportunities in the newly formed Legacy! and signed up a few of his top men to compete. The decision to put Myanmar's top fighter wasn’t an easy decision but it was a necessary one. He will go into this fight 7 years the elder but, he began his training at 25 years old and is now 30. Anton Pavlovich on the other hand has been fighting professionally since he turned 18 five years ago. The famous writer Anton Pavlovich Chekhov stumbled into an orphanarium after learning that his wife Olga had a miscarriage. It was on this day that Chekhov encountered a small brown baby who was growing the most peculiar orange afro. Thinking that the baby would cheer his grieving wife he adopted the boy on the spot and named him after himself, giving his middle name in lieu of a last name. The plan backfired and Olga was pissed. The two remained married but separated and Anton couldn’t locate the receipt to return the boy so he kept him and raised him as his own. The young Pavlovich was an oddity in St. Petersburg and he was the subject of leering glances from many of the locals who had never seen a black person or orange hair before. His father knew that Pavlovich would have to fight for most of his life in St. Petersburg and enrolled the boy in boxing. When his father died of tuberculosis Pavlovich was the sole heir to his fame and fortune. He chose different path than his foster father and decided to put his boxing expertise to the test by entering into a QFC tournament. He beat his first opponent so badly that the man instantly retired and hasn’t been seen since. This gained Pavlovich some momentum in the pro-am fight scene but, it was cut short when he faced his first loss to a man named Barbie. Unable to end his career on a defeat Pavlovich continued his training and signed up for the newly opened Imperial. He won his first 4 fights consecutively and yet again his reign was cut short. Mere fights away from a title shot Pavlovich suffered two decision losses back to back. Pavlovich redeemed himself with a victory and decided that it was time to move on. Since then Anton has moved on to Legacy! where he has had mixed results, winning his debut by unanimous decision and losing the following fight by KO to RocknRolla. This brought his career total of 4 KO wins, 1 TKO, 2 unanimous decision wins in addition to 4 losses in every manner imaginable. Pavlovich will hold a remarkable boxing advantage in this fight and he has the power to get to just about any chin out there. His strongest advantage are his MT skills and he might engage in some unprotected clinch rape against his opponent in this event. If the stats are to be believed, this is where Pavlovich where be most comfortable. He’ll feel secure in the knowledge that DawTang has never thrown a single strike while in the clinch, he instead focuses his efforts on pulling guard and slipping a Thai trip. He has never had much luck in the clinch and he’ll likely come out aggressive, looking to score a takedown when the he gets a chance. In his last two fights DawTang has shown that he possesses some power as well and has been exploring his natural boxing talent. Don’t be too surprised if he squares off against Pavlovich for a time. It’s clear as crystal that he will seek the takedown in time where he can use his superior BJJ and wrestling to force a quick submission.

185 lbs division - Sterling Archer vs. Georges Batroc

The final event on the main card will showcase a pair of young fighters that have taken very different paths but, reached the same destination. World renowned super spy Sterling Archer has chosen to forgo a life of badassery to compete in mma’s welterweight class. Isis was recently closed pending an FBI investigation and Archer took to a life of crime as a drug dealer. He learned promptly that he was a much better secret agent than a cocaine peddler and lost kilos of his supply. With his license to kill revoked and his stash running out Archer made a career change and decided to do the next best thing, MMA. After submitting his first opponent in just over two minutes Archer became over confident, spending more time drinking and thinking up catch phrases than training and sparring. In his next match against Nathan Nickles Archer wasn’t so lucky and lost in a decision, all 3 judges were never seen again. Archer immediately called for a rematch and BEEF was more than willing to oblige. All 3 judges were apparently KGB sleeper cell agents and Archer lost in a split decision once again. As you can guess, all 3 judges were never seen again. Archer refused to fight Nickles again and instead set about ruining his life. Nickles is now homeless, jobless and managerless after being blackballed from MMA. Sterling’s reputation as a fighter soon began to outweigh his notoriety as a spy and he began to dominate almost everyone in his path. His stints in numerous orgs were short lived and he found himself constantly forced to kill shitty judges who voted against him in decisions. Now 11-6 with 12 confirmed kills of judges, Archer has made his way to Legacy! where he hopes things will pan out differently this time around. Georges Baltroc on the other hand has faced only 1 decision in his career and he succeeded in winning unanimously (he has 0 confirmed kills of judges.) After years of abuse at the hands of his father Baltroc began practising the french savate. As he grew older his father had a harder and harder time disciplining the young boy. At around the age of 16 Baltroc was accosted by his father, Baltroc had been through enough and he leapt across the room and kicked his father in the face. The beating that followed was biblical and to avoid charges he ran to the nearest recruiter and signed up for the french foreign legion. Over the course of the next two years Baltroc’s savate skills became second to none as he defeated almost every opponent sent to spar against him. He trained fervently and posted an impressive fight history that even Evander Holyfield would applaud. Never again will someone survive after facing off against the likes of the Punisher, Spiderman, Deadpool, Hawkeye, Iron fist and of course Captain ‘Murica. Upon turning 18 Baltroc left the legion to pursue a life as a mercenary. Although most of his plots were thwarted by do gooders Baltroc gained considerable wealth and fame. The politics of it all weighed heavily upon Baltroc and he decided to chose a simple life in MMA when he turned 20. Here he could let his manager deal with the politics while he focused strictly on his savate. Having already proven himself in battle Baltroc signed with GFC for a short 3 fight stint that saw him rack up 2 KO wins and 1 TKO loss. As GFC began sliding downhill Baltroc took his talent to NEX where he dealt out an additional 2 KO’s, 1 decision win and another TKO loss. Upon hearing that NEX was closing it’s doors permanently Baltroc made the move to beautiful Montreal and began training for his career at Legacy! which brings us back to the fight! Although these two fighters are the same age Sterling Archer will have a 2 year experience advantage as well as more than twice as many fights as Georges. In addition to that he will have a slight edge in the vertical, both in and out of the clinch. Baltroc won’t be afraid to stand up against Archer since he has proven that he has superior accuracy and punch technique. Not only that but, Savate roughly translate to “French boxing with feet” and Baltroc lives up to that expectation. Don’t be amazed when he tries to slip in a headkick. It will be interesting to see if either fighter takes this fight to the ground. Sterling is a pretty well rounded fighter that has displayed a remarkable tendency to take his opponent's back for a RNC. Balroc uses his grappling experience to get to his feet. When this one goes to the ground, it will be a cuddle struggle as Baltroc tries to force his way standing and Archer screams insults and tries to force an opening for a submission,

155 lbs division Lucas Blye v Dominic Fortune

"Silverback" Devin Jaqquard (12-3-0)

Got myself a new home here in Legacy! Montreal. I’m really happy to be fighting here in my hometown, especially seeing the exceptional lineup of Bantamweights in this org. I can’t wait to test myself against these guys. As of now, I still got some injuries that needs to heal up, but when it does I’ll be back in the gym working my ass off with gold in my mind.

Legacy! 9
The Expo

Prepared by Russ T. Shackleford

With Labor Day only days away, Montreal is bustling with life as citizens prepare for picnics, firework displays, water activities, public art events, parades and of course, Legacy’s weekly event. Remember that while you’re out playing Louie will be hard at work in his KPMG tower office trying to convince fighters to take his hard earned $5 million. Let’s try to make his life a bit easier so he can enjoy the holiday. If you have any 240k+ fighters head on over to the cement your Legacy! thread and vote or sign them up for a shot at this glorious prize. It hardly seems fair that he should have to spend his free time convincing other people that money is in fact good for you.

Cement Your Legacy Tourney!

Legacy! would like to thank the 5702 fans that supported Legacy! 8 as well as all the fighters that threw it all on the line. The event was one of the most successful to date with a 297.4 event rating. We have hopes that this number is a benchmark to judge the organization's future success. Congratulations to Kelvin “Shinobi” Parker for capturing the 170lbs division title in under two minutes! This Saturday lucky fans will witness another spectacle that will have them buzzing all weekend. As many of you well know, the staple of Legacy! events is fair fights for all. This isn’t one of those organizations where the owner will pit his 30 year old against your 18 year old creation. At Legacy! we don’t pick favorites or stack cards. We have a vested interest in offering fights where no one knows what the outcome will be because, what’s the fun in that? I can speculate all I want in these previews but, I find myself surprised more often than not. With that said, Terrell Grant will face his first title defense against Frank Barbosa. In the second fight on the main card, the scar faced Liam Donnelly will go up against the lovable dictator Kim II Sung. These two fights will be likely be your classic brawl and sprawler vs. grappler but, the main and undercard will feature a gamut of matches that will align fighters from numerous walks of life and disciplines into an excellent event. Without further adieu let’s get on with the previews!

Main Event - 265 lbs title fight

Terrell Grant vs Frank Barbosa

Terrell Grant returns to Montreal to defend his title against the undefeated Frank Barbosa. If you haven’t witnessed the fight firsthand, Grant delivered a huge upset against the formidable Johnny Cage in the very final second of a 25 minute match that he was losing decisively. His success earned him the respect of MMA fans in Montreal and the world over as he silenced the skeptics that claimed Grant was “Too Tall’ to be a proficient submission specialist. Now he will look to silence skeptics yet again as he faces down the strategic Frank Barbosa. After defeating all three of his opponents in Legacy! Barbosa has found a home not only on manager Gwad’s roster but in Legacy as well. Throughout the entirety of his career Frank Barbosa has managed to out work all of his opponents with deadly and effective striking. Until his most recent match against the RocknRolla he had never faced an opponent that he couldn’t KO, Nevertheless he will look to add a belt and a 7th KO to his perfect 7-0 record. Grant will come into this match with a distinct experience advantage with 2 hours 43 minutes and 49 seconds spent in the cage over his 20 fight career. On the other hand we have Barbosa who has only posted a paltry 32 minutes and 20 seconds. Don’t let that number confuse you, Barbosa finishes almost twice as quickly at 4 minutes and 37 seconds on average compared to Grant’s average of 8 minutes and 12 seconds. Grant has proven that he’s a proficient striker but, in reality he’s a submission specialist with 12 of his 15 wins coming in that fashion. As has been previously stated, Barbosa is a master KO artist and he’s racked up 4 TKO’s and 2 KO’s all while never being on the receiving end of a knockout punch himself. Terrell Grant is no stranger to adversity, He’s faced 3 undefeated fighters in the past and each time he has triumphed. With his opponents posting an unheard of pre fight combined record of 120-35 it’s apparent that Grant has had a very tough schedule and still managed to maintain his standing as a competitor. Barbosa has had a rather difficult schedule as well and his opponents posted a 41-25 record. He’s always been the younger fighter in all his bouts with opponents being at least 2 years older than him. On top of that, Barbosa has always been at an experience disadvantage and this fight will be no different than the rest. Grant will come into this fight much larger than Barbosa standing 9 cm taller and weighing 21 more pounds. Barbosa will however compensate for these disadvantages with tactical strikes and exceptional boxing. Not only that but, Barbosa will have a slight edge in MT and wrestling. Grant will have the privilege of a significant BJJ advantage and he will surely look to his powerful takedowns during this fight. It should be noted that while many have tried, noone has ever taken down Barbosa. Even when he knocks opponents to the ground Barbosa politely backs off and waves his disoriented foe back to standing. Knowing this, Barbosa is completely unproven on the ground and it will be impossible to gauge what his ground game has in store for this crowd. Terell Grant is a very accomplished grappler and he has displayed a remarkable ability to score a takedown. Occasionally it takes a while for him to get his opponent to the ground but, he almost always succeeds in the end. Grant might be a grappler at heart but, he isn’t one dimensional. He will have to contend with Barbosa’s powerful striking and conserve his energy whilst looking for the perfect takedown. If he gets it, He will explode and look to capitalize immediately. These two are heavyweights and there are serious reservations that they will need the full 25 minutes a title match provides.

Co Main Event - 170 lbs division - Liam Donnelly vs. Kim II Sung

Liam Donnelly returns to Legacy! to take on the Maximeglomaniac Kim II Sung. Donnelly played his bout with Sam Hall wisely and jabbed away with efficient and accurate counter strikes as Sam Hall swung away at with everything he had. In the final minute of the first round Donnelly came forward with a vicious uppercut that had Hall seeing stars. Sam tried to recover but Donnelly never gave him the chance. He pounced on his wounded countryman and dealt out some blows that had the ref pulling him away with only a second to spare in the first round. Kim II Sung’s bout against Sam Hall went rather differently. The two fought like cats and dogs but, Sung was unable to score a single takedown in any of his 7 attempts. That wasn’t all though, Sung’s striking had always been a reliable fall back plan. Unfortunately Kim was unable to get anything going and he was only able to land 16 out of 58 strikes. After witnessing Hall’s knack for striking, few were surprised when his hand was raised at the end of the fight. Kim II Sung has since made waves in Montreal after defeating Liam Davidson in his 3rd and most recent Legacy! match, He will surely be looking to go on a “Liam win streak” by conquering another Liam this Saturday. That’s not all though, Sung has made waves internationally after defaulting on loans and trade agreements with Switzerland. It’s reported that Switzerland saw an opportunity and was eager to jump in bed with Sung and his newly formed worker’s paradise. At a trade conference Sung agreed to receive a shipment on 1000 Volvos and 2000 Rolex’s engraved with “Donated by Kim II Sung.” The Swiss were eager to comply and build relations with the growing North Korean economy and sent the shipment out the next day. The Swiss have yet to receive payment for this transaction and have asked for help from the debt collectors at the U.N. When reached for comment Sung said this of the transaction. “I told them I wanted cars and watches. They said okay, you’ll have them tomorrow. I don’t know what all this capitalist pig-dog talk about money is...” Both of these fighters have had difficulty finishing in the past and have been to a combined total of 13 decisions. Liam has had the worst of it with only 2 decision wins while Sung has allotted 3 decision wins, both of them have lost 4 times. After struggling to take down Sam Hall in Legacy! 3 Sung has been hard at work as he seeks to improve his takedown game and he won’t have any reservations about putting that training to the test against Donnelly tonight. Donnelly will have a slight edge in wrestling but, that exceptional wrestling will be employed in stuffing takedowns this Saturday. These two fighters both have black belts and it will be an interesting fight if it goes to the ground. Sung is a specialist and his skills reside on the ground. There is little doubt that he’ll want to put this one away while standing where he can take advantage of his sensational boxing and wonderful Muay Thai. Sung will no doubt look to his superb boxing to defend some strikes while he searches for a takedown attempt. If that fails he will move into the clinch and look for a trip or a chance to pull guard. If Sung finds himself on top of the cuddle puddle expect him to stick with his previous strategy: ground and pound until Liam lands a sweep and then work submissions from the full guard position. It should be noted that Sung has never been knocked out and Liam has never been submitted. Will we see strategies adapt to this development or will these fighters remain stuck in their ways and look to success where it has been granted in the past?

135 lbs divison - Jomlong Kiapoity vs. Mata Hughes

After losing in his Legacy debut, The “Mighty Midget” Jomlong Kiapoity will find himself at odds with another submission specialist, Mata Hughes. In his match against Kelvin Parker The Mighty Midget had two options. Go to the head or work a submission. Parker was well aware of these facts coming into the fight and showcased some remarkable head movement that allowed him to evade 30 of Kiapoity’s 33 head shots. It wasn’t until his primary plan failed that Jomlong began swinging for the fences. He was able to score a takedown early on but all of his submission attempts were foiled by Parker who is a remarkable defensive grappler. It wasn’t until the second round that Kiapoity switched gears and began striking in earnest. When that failed Kiapoity went back to his initial plan and was able to score a takedown in the third round. Kiapoity was nearing exhaustion at this point and once again, all of his submission attempts failed. Parker had taken a more conservative approach and he gladly let Jomlong tire himself out with his rapid pace. When he finally got fed up with grappling Parker decided that it was time to put this one away and reached for Kiapoity’s arm. A quick Kimura ensued. Kiapoity tried to hang on for dear life but, Parker gave no ground and snapped Kiapoity’s arm to gaspsand cheers from the fans in attendance. The Mighty Midget has made a quick recovery and is looking to redeem his loss against Mata Hughes this Saturday. Mata Hughes had a lot of trouble with his career as a young fighter. He often found himself ill prepared and lost 4 of his first 7 matches. This did little to discourage him and his loyal manager and they persevered through the strife, winning 8 of his next 13 fights. In this time Mata was fortunate enough to earn UFF’s featherweight belt. It was short lived though and Hughes was stripped of his belt following two consecutive losses that weren’t title defences. This caused serious moral problems that Hughes still suffers from to this very day. Young and wreckless with a DGAF attitude Hughes left UFF and signed with the presitioug Las Vegas Prizefighting. To everyone’s surprise Hughes signed up in the superheavyweight class and went 4-1 even though he was facing off against fighters that often had 100+ lbs advantage over him. He has since moved on to Legacy! in search of a new home and will try his luck against Kiapoity in his debut. Both of these fighters began their professional careers late in their lives at 25 years old. Hughes now 31, has 2 more years fighting than the 29 year old Kiapoity and there’s been whispers that Hughes hasn’t been training for this fight at all. He feels that Kiapoity is so overrated that he can win this fight on experience alone. With 12 submission wins throughout his 14-8 career Kiapoity could very well be looking to grapple his way to another this evening. However Hughes is a seasoned grappler as well and has earned 9 of his 11 wins on his merits as a grappler. These two fighters have a penchant for finding exposed arms and tearing the connected shoulder. Between the two of them they have earned a total of 8 armbars and 6 kimuras. Hughes will certainly be looking to add another submission win to his record because, he has very little options against Kiapoity. These two fighters both have brown belts to their names but the grappling advantage will go to Hughes. Will he be able to use his remarkable wrestling to counter Kiapoty’s strong wrestling? In a strange turn of events The mighty midget finds himself the superior boxer but a vast margin. If Kiapoity has the mind for it he could demoralize the already down beaten Hughes by stuffing some takedown attempts and punch his way to another victory this Saturday!

155 lbs division - Mason Graham vs. Pernell Karl

The “Mechanical” Mason Graham makes his debut against the “Peerless” Pernell Karl who is making his premier on the main card after winning his Legacy! match against Gerry Khan. Graham was born into a wealthy family in Auckland, New Zealand and his parents told him from an early age that he could be anything he wanted when he grew up. Parents often say these things but seldom do they mean them. His father believed that Graham would want to be an astronaut, firefighter or a superhero and that when he realized these things were unobtainable he would take over the family business. Much to their dismay, Graham wanted to be a boxer. Remembering their promise, the Graham’s stayed true to their word and supported their only child. On Mason’s 18th Birthday his father announced that he would allow him to take his yacht to Hawaii for an extended vacation. In spite of the occasional rough seas, the trip went smoothly. Graham basked in the sun and enjoyed everything the islands had to offer including the newly formed NEX. While attending an event one of the fighters was unable to make weight. Jokingly, the announcer asked if anyone in the crowd weighed 160 lbs. Graham ripped off his shirt and pants and ran to the ring. Hands were wrapped, a contract was signed and before anyone knew what was going on, a young man with an afro was standing in the ring in his whitey tighties. Mason’s opponent didn’t take him seriously and thought that he might earn an easy fight bonus at the expense of the newcomer. He advanced rapidly but, Graham used that to his advantage. He turned his opponent’s aggression against him with a beautiful superman punch that had fans roaring and his opponent reeling. The rest is history, Graham won his next 5 fights consecutively and earned himself a 10-3 record. After his dearly beloved NEX closed Graham began searching for a new organization and came across the newly formed Legacy! where he will make his debut this Saturday. On the other side of the spectrum is Montreal’s own Pernell Karl. In the 70’s the Pernell’s moved from the Caribbean in search of a better life for their future children. Winter months were often spent playing Ice Hockey with his 4 siblings but, Pernell took the game more seriously than the other children. They encouraged him to join the local youth league and he did. No matter where he went Karl was an asset to his team and no one was surprised when he was drafted by Belleville Bulls. Karl loved hockey but, it wasn’t long before he realized that he enjoyed the brawls that took place even more. With the support of his loving family Karl made the move to MMA. After winning two QFC’s via KO Karl was a full fledged addict and he signed up with IMMA where he won 4 of his next 6 fights. Karl became impatient while awaiting a title shot and decided that it was time to take his talent elsewhere. He signed with Imperial and went on a 4 fight TKO streak capturing the 170 lbs title and defending it once. Karl lost the title along with his will to compete in Imperial after facing losses in 5 of his next 6 fights. He has since decided to bring his talents back to his home in Montreal so that his friends and family can witness him compete yet again. This fight is too close to call although, Pernell will have the advantage of standing 6 cm taller and weighing 4 lbs more than Graham. In addition to that he began fighting a year before Graham and is a year older at this point in time. The real question in this striker vs. striker match up is who is the heavier handed fighter? Karl has a slight edge in sparring experience but, Graham has never been knocked out. Graham has also been fortunate enough to accrue 5 KO’s and 2 TKO’s wereas Karl has 4 KO’s to his name as well as 8 TKO’s. Karl also has an extra dimension to his striking, kicks. Will Graham’s dangerous counter striking be able to overcome Karl’s slight edges? Or will Karl use those edges to inch his way to another KO win? The world will know soon enough.

155 lbs - Timothy Poggle vs. Henrique Ramos

Opening up the main card in this Legacy! 9 event will be the KO artist Timothy Poggle as he looks to contend with the ground and pound wrestler Henrique “Voçoroca” Ramos. Poggle is high flying after his victory over Toktogulovich Bakiyev by Majority decision in Legacy! 5. After the opening bell sounded it became clear that this fight would be going the distance. Toktugulovich stuck to his typical strategy and evenly distributed his strikes between Poggle’s head and body. Poggle knew this was coming but, had difficulty blocking the shots as well as landing punches of his own. He made up for this in pure aggression and the judges scored in his favor much to the dismay of the announcer who had given every round to Bakiyev. Ramos began his career in an karate tournament in his native Brazil. While most people his age were infatuated with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Ramos preferred head kicks and karate chops to scissor sweeps and joint-locks. Ramos finished first in his Karate tournament and decided to enter a QFC tournament where he could test a hybrid karate BJJ form of his own making. His style proved effective and he was able to take down opponents and pound them to a bloody pulp. He was unable to utilize his strategy in the semifinals and succumbed to his opponent's strikes. Ramos was undaunted though and decided to take the Gracie challenge. The Gracie’s had no fear of Karate and matched him up against the black sheep stoner, Blazed Gracie. Ramos completed the Gracie challenge in only 22 seconds before Gracie could shoot for a single takedown or throw a punch. Hostility had hosted the fight and upon his success they offered him a lucrative contract. Ramos had broken so many knuckles and fingers striking Gracie that he lost his next 3 fights before moving on to BFT. His success at BFT renewed his waning interest in the sport and in spite of losing his first match-up he went on to win his next 7 fights in a row with them. Henrique was infuriated that the organization wouldn’t give him the respect he felt he was owed and decided that it was time to move on. He signed with Legacy! and as this is written he is on a plane to Montreal where he seeks to build a new legacy for himself. Poggle will have a significant reach advantage while standing 11 cm taller and weighing 6 more lbs. Both of these fighters began their careers at 18 but, Ramos is the elder by 2 years at 23 years of age. Although Ramos has had 5 more fights than Poggle they posted a very similar amount of time fighting. Ramos hs a grand total of 2 hours and 56 seconds in the cage and Poggle has spent 2 hours 3 minutes and 12 seconds there. Considering that, Poggle averages 11 minutes in the cage and Ramos tends to finish slightly quicker at 8 minutes and 13 seconds. These two love to throw punches, the only difference is that Poggle likes to earn his KO’s standing while Ramos prefers to get them from the full mount position. It is obvious that the balance of this fight will hang on Ramos’ ability to score a takedown early in this match. Poggle is excellent at staying on his feat and in his debut match he stuffed 10 out of 10 takedowns. He continued to have booming success sprawling and it wasn’t until his 6th match that he was finally taken down. In fact, he’s only been taken down in two of his matches and they have provided the only two flaws on his 9-1-1 record. Since receiving that loss and draw Poggle has trained hard to counter grapple effectively and fans might witness if that training pays off in this fight tonight. Poggle will no doubt be looking to slow Ramos with shin splintering leg kicks to ensure that Ramos doesn’t have the speed necessary to score with a takedown. When his opponent is sore and limping Poggle will look to tee off on his head in hopes of earning himself another (T)KO.

That’s about all for this Saturday’s main card. Let’s take a look at what the undercard has in store.

135 lbs divison - Arthas Menethil vs. George Bunga

180 lbs division - Anderson Gracie vs. Yogi Dhamma

170 lbs division - Buster Knott vs. Henry White

155 lbs division - Perrin Aybara vs. Tojii Gambin

205 lbs divison - Alfonso Bebeto vs. Farmhouse Flander

Legacy! 9

The Expo

Prepared by Russ T. Shackleford

Here we go again! In light of the recent holiday Legacy! has something special in store for fans this week, a double feature. We’ve rented out the Expo for the weekend and plan on putting some miles on it. Congratulations to our new 265 champ Frank Barbosa! If you haven’t read the PBP, Frank managed to stuff 6 takedown attempts and beat Terrell Grant like a rented mule after landing 21 of 23 headshots. Grant is bloody and broken following his defeat but, he’s made it obvious that he is intent on remaining in contention. No doubt we’ll continue to see big things out of him as he fights his way back to the top. Legacy! has brought in a lot of talent recently and competition will be fiercer than ever. If you have any top notch fighters that are looking for a change of scenery send Louie a message or head on over to the Cement your Legacy! thread. It looks as though the tournament is going to be pushed back a bit but, you’re more than welcome to stop by join the discussion or vote on what you’d like to see out of the event.

Cement Your Legacy Tourney!

With recruitment in full swing there will be many debuts in the upcoming events and there’s still plenty of titles that are waiting for the right fighter to come along and seize them. This friday’s main event will feature two top 200 ranked welterweights in a match that’s likely to be a slugfest. In fact, just about everyone on this card is an accomplished striker although some of these guys prefer grappling. A few of these fights will go the distance but, expect to see more KO’s than anything. Thanks for reading the introduction, It’s time to get on with the more interesting part. The previews!

Main event - 155 lbs division

Police Officer vs. Vincent Oketch

A mysterious gun and badge toting young man known simply as the Police Officer has returned to his native Montreal to take on the “Mad Dog” Vincent Oketch. After graduating from the academy the rookie Police Officer found himself redefining the term ‘walking a beat’ in a rough borough in Montreal. In a matter of weeks the 18 year old officer had gained a reputation and managed to lower crime rates substantially. His ability to subdue perks became renowned and at the urging of his fellow officers he began a career in MMA and caught the attention of Hardcore Montreal Fighting League. His initial foray into professional fighting was bitter sweet and he lost his first two fights, one by decision and the second by TKO. The LEO was undaunted, he had never been KO’d in his whole life and didn’t intend to start now. He redoubled his training efforts and quickly rose through the ranks at HMFL, finishing his contract with a total of 11 wins and 5 losses. Although he managed to earn a 5 fight win streak and 5 OTN nominations the Police Officer was never allowed a title shot and hopes for things to be different this time around. Mr. Officer stayed true to his word and has never fell victim to a knockout punch. On top of that, he’s helped send 7 fighters into an early retirement. Vincent Oketch had a tough time in his Legacy! debut against the very difficult Charles Bronson. Oketch came into the match knowing that his lethal high kicks could very well get him out of a sticky situation but, Bronson had booming success by keeping the fight at arms length and clinching whenever the opportunity presented itself. Bronson also knew that Oketch was likely to take the fight to the ground where it was most evenly matched and trained his takedown defense in the build up. Oketch had no mind for grappling though, he was intent on winding Bronson and then moving to head shots in the clinch. Bronson possesses some top notch striking defense and displayed remarkable head movement, frustrating all of Oketch’s attempts. Vincent was able to cover up nicely and avoid a number of Bronson’s strikes but, Bronson had resounding success with head shots. When the bell for the third round sounded it was obvious that these strikes had taken a toll on Oketch and although he landed a beautiful head kick, Bronson was unfazed and the headshots he threw continued to win through. Oketch knew that Bronson was up on the scorecards. If he was going to win this, he would have to throw out everything at his disposal. He pursued Bronson across the ring into a series of stinging jabs. These strikes were hurting Oketch and he managed to cover up intelligently but, upon closer inspection the referee realized that Oketch was out on his feet and fighting on instinct alone. At the 3:45 mark the ref ended the fight and credited Bronson with a TKO victory. For the first time in his life, Vincent Oketch was TKO’d and has no intentions of being in that situation again. Both of these fighters have rich striking backgrounds and it will certainly be on display in this event. The Police Officer has a much stronger boxing background while Oketch holds a massive Muay Thai advantage. On the ground the wrestling advantage will be Oketch’s while the Police officer will be advantaged with a black belt. With all of that said, the Police officer is more prone to striking with 7 of his 11 wins coming via (T)KO’s. Oketch on the other hand has proven he can get his wins either on the ground or through striking. He has 5 (T)KO’s alongside 6 submission wins. This fight will likely remain in the vertical and Police officer could find himself in a world of trouble if Oketch keeps this fight in the clinch where he has a wide array of strikes at his disposal. If he has the skills he might be able to score with a takedown and Oketch will find be in a difficult position if he makes his way into Police Officer’s guard.

Co-main event - 265 lbs division

Johnny Cage vs. Master Wong

This next pair of fighters faced huge upsets in their debuts but, will continue to fight for a chance to make their names known here at Legacy! Johnny Cage thought he would have an easy time in his new organization and was offered a title fight based on his previous merits in Imperial. There’s no doubt in anyone’s mind that Johnny Cage is a top notch contender. He beat Terrell Grant like he owed him money for 5 rounds straight and landed an impressive 45 head punches and 35 leg kicks. Terrell was obviously hurting towards the end of the fight and it was apparent who had won every single round. Grant just couldn’t get any traction against the formidable Cage and had 15 takedowns stuffed, he was only able to land 2 and each time Johnny sprung back to his feet immediately. With only seconds to spare in the 25 minute title fight, Grant knew that it was time to go for broke, he pulled guard in the clinch and dragged Cage to the mat with him. He faked for a triangle and Cage defended well but he didn’t expect Grant to switch to an armbar. With only a second to spare Cage’s arm was broken and he was forced to submit. Master Wong’s performance was very similar to Grants. In his debut against Travis Browne he knew his success would hang on his ability to score a takedown. Browne too was well aware and stuffed all 11 of Wong’s attempts. His aggression caused him to walk into Browne’s fists numerous times and Wong was clearly disheartened. He continued on nevertheless and just shy of the 2 minute mark Browne landed a massive left hook that sent Wong to the canvas. The hurt in Wong’s eyes was visible and he tried to recover his wits but, Browne was having none of it. He dove on the wounded fighter and pounded his furry face until Wong’s movement ceased. Wong will certainly be a bit more cautious in advancing against another striker this Friday. These two men are both strikers at heart and they have both shown a remarkable ability to score KO’s. Wong will have a slight boxing advantage and is peerless when it comes to finishing a fight, he averages only 2 minutes and 27 seconds whereas Johnny averages 10 minutes and 24 seconds. This will however give Johnny a distinct experience advantage. He’s fought more than twice as many fights as Wong for a grand total of 3 hours 7 minutes and 14 seconds compared to Wong’s meager 22 minutes and 18 seconds. Cage will compensate for his minor boxing disadvantage with a massive MT advantage. These skills will be best utilized by throwing kicks and clinching up. Wong could very well face difficulties escaping the clinch if Johnny has the mind to take the fight there. He certainly will and Wong will look to duplicate Grant’s success against Cage by pulling guard when the opportunity presents itself. On top of that Cage will have to contend and plan around Wong’s knees as the could quickly sap his energy if he’s not careful. If Wong is able to pull guard or manage a takedown Johnny will have to fight for his life. There’s no doubt that when this fight goes horizontal Master Wong will transition to the top and look to ground and pound Johnny into oblivion. He’s shown a remarkable penchant to do so in the past and the only thing he has struggled with is taking his opponent down. Both of these fighters have excellent chins but, one of them is might give in this fight, the question is who's chin will stand up to the abuse longer?

185 lbs division - John Altare vs. Liam Davidson

This next matchup is too close to call and these two fighters are so evenly matched that anything could happen. John Altare will make his debut against Liam Davidson who is eager to turn around his 2 loss streak after suffering a submission at the hands of Kim II Sung. A life in Helsinki, Finland hardened not only John Altare’s resolve but his fists as well. He was often bullied and called the Imp not because of his size but, because of his looks. John cared little what other thought and instead impressed the ladies with his ability to beat up their boyfriends. He wore the nickname “The Imp” proudly and developed a reputation as a woman stealer. When he turned 18, John sought to improve upon his reputation by entering into a QFC. He failed his first test and by the end of the fight John was cut, bloodied and, knocked out. His spirit remained unbroken and Altare begged his manager Mike Jursllla for another chance. Mike entertained the notion and signed John up for a 4 fight contract with PKFC. To his surprise John went on a rampage and earned 4 (T)KO’s consecutively. Although had failed his first test he passed the second with flying colors. Mike signed up Altare with CBK for his third and final test. While in Immortals, John fought hard and faced a tough schedule. Altare exceeded all expectations and went on to capture the 185 lbs title defending it twice. It was towards the end of his stint at CBK that Altare decided that he wanted to see the world and fight at the same time. He signed with NEX and began exploring America. He quickly made friends in Los Angeles and often spent his evenings in the local bars. Come fight day John would be too hungover to put up much of a fight and he lost both of his matches in LA, snapping his 8 fight win streak. He settled down in New York where he could get the best training possible and decided that he might as well explore Canada too. He signed with Legacy! with high hopes for the future. He’s got gold on his mind yet again and has been hard at work to make that become a reality. In his match against Kim II Sung, Liam barely had time to throw a strike before Sung took him down. He had little problem transitioning against Sung and quickly made his way to the top. He was determined to ground and pound Sung and stood up to throw a massive superman punch on his grounded opponent. At the last moment, Sung rolled his head to the side, avoiding the strike and seized an opportunity to catch Liam in a triangle. Liam quickly freed himself of the triangle but, Sung transitioned to an armbar and Liam was forced to tap. He’ll be at odds with John Altare and it will be interesting to see what these two bring with them into the cage. John Altare will stand two cm taller and weigh 12 more pounds than Davidson. Both of these two have been fighting professionally since they were 18 but, Davidson will be advantaged by nearly a year more of training. With 2 KO’s and 6 TKO’s Altare will be looking for another KO. On the other end, Davidson has 5 submission wins on his 7-4 record and expects to get another out of this fight. Throughout the course of his career Liam has never been knocked out and Altare will have a tough time if that’s the route he chooses. Davidson won’t be too keen on standing up against Altare and we should expect him to make use of those powerful takedowns that’ve made him famous. When he gets to the ground Liam will have options. He’s shown an eagerness to ground and pound recently and don’t be surprised to see that worked into his strategy this evening. Will Altare be able to make good use of his dominance in boxing or will Davidson use his superior grappling skills to his advantage?

170 lbs division - John Brown vs. Pekka Kindmark

Legacy! would like to welcome two of it’s newer strikers as they make their debuts in our 170 lbs league. Montreal’s own John Brown will seek to outwit and outstrike Finland’s Pekka Kindmark. John Brown’s life in Canada began inauspiciously enough. He was a very average boy who preferred MMA instead of hockey. A local young men’s association began offering MMA classes and John began attending regularly. He had found his niche and it was apparent that he was a cut above the rest of the other teenagers. It wasn’t long before John was assisting the instruction of the other boys. When he turned 18 John, tried his skills in a local QFC. He wanted to test his grappling but every takedown attempt failed. John was cut and KO’d by a massive knee in only 34 seconds. Brown saw how miserable his friends became when they started working and he knew that a regular job wasn’t for him. He was determined to fight professionally and signed up with HMFL. Since his debut Brown has gone 7-6 and decided that it was time to take the next step up in his career. He signed a contract with Legacy! and looks eagerly to the future. Pekka Kindmark has always shown great promise. His career began with a massive KO punch and it heralded much of what was to come from “The Shark.” Kindmark went on to sign up with PKFC where he captured the 185 lbs title while on a 4 fight win streak. His streak didn’t end there though, he left the organization and signed up with the bustling CBK where he went on another 4 fight win streak. This time around Pekka didn’t receive a title shot and caught wind that the organization would be closing. At this point Pekka had enough money to live comfortable but, continued his training nevertheless. He was contacted by NEX and agreed to take a fight that another fighter had dropped out of. His fight with NEX ended in a controversial split decision and Pekka vowed to never appear before those same judges again. He will return to Montreal this Friday in hopes of righting his previous wrong and regaining some of his Canadian followers. With a record of 7-6 Brown will have the benefit of more experience but, he hasn’t faced the same calibre of opponents as the 9-2 Pekka Kindmark. Brown’s opponents posted a combined record of 99-81 at the time they met Brown and Kindmark’s opponents posted a combined record of 34-11. It’s obvious that Brown has faced much more seasoned opponents and he’s found himself the younger fighter in 11 of his 13 matches. On the other hand Kindmark’s opponents average out to only 1 loss each. Both of these fighters are outstanding boxer’s but, the boxing advantage will go to Pekka who has shown some excellent power in his career. He’s managed to cleanly KO 3 opponents while Brown has only ever TKO’d his victims. Pekka will also have the benefit of remarkable Muay Thai and holds a vast advantage in that field. On the ground, all advantages go to Brown. He is by far the superior wrestler and holds a Brown Belt in BJJ. He has long had the option of submitting his foes but he prefers to instead take up the full mount and pound his opponents until the referee has seen enough. His speed coupled with his power and wrestling background has enabled him to score some great takedowns in the past. However, his takedown ability is eclipsed by his accuracy to land punches from the mount position. He has an unheard of 76% success rate while ground and pounding. Brown will be mindful that he has the weaker chin in this fight, he’ll have to be very careful to avoid taking any strikes when he shoots in for a takedown. If he scores successfully, Pekka will have to be very careful to avoid a potentially dangerous situation. This match is sure to have strikes by the bucketload as the GNP wrestler takes on the accomplished KO artist.

170 lbs division - Alfred Hitscock vs. Sungwon Jung

After annihilating his previous two opponents, Alfred Hitscock returns to Legacy! to take on the lovable “Smiley chef” Sungwon Jung. Mike Jursllla knows talent when he sees it and naturally he jumped on the opportunity to pick up Alfred Hitscock when he was a free agent. Mike is big on strength and he invited Alfred to come lift weights and spar with him. While training with Hitscock, Mike realized that underneath his fighters flabby body was an unusual degree of power. It’s unclear what happened but, Mike realized that Hitscock possessed a monster right hook and found the key to unlocking it. Since then Hitscock went on a rampage and has won 5 of his 6 fights under his new manager. Not only that but, 3 of those wins were 1st round KO’s which is rare at this level of competition. There’s no doubt that Hitscock’s power will have Sungwon Jung looking to cover up and weather the onslaught. The “Smiley chef” came into his Legacy! debut downtrodden and his morale issues were quickly compounded by the thorough beating he received at the hands of Kelvin Parker. In the first round Parker pulled guard and landed a scissor sweep. When he had made his way to the top. he laid down an awe inspiring beat down that had Jung rocked. Jung was able to retain his wits long enough to submit instead of facing additional brain damage. It’s been said that the loss has depressed Sungwon Jung to the point that all he does is lie in bed and weep. Nevertheless Jung has agreed to take another fight and will be looking to avoid facing another TKO. Both of these fighters have been knocked out in the past but, Hitscock is the only one of the two who has done any knocking out. There’s no doubt that he is the superior boxer. Alfred is also very adept at Muay Thai and has been known to work the occasional elbow into his gameplan. With all 15 of his wins coming via submission, Sungwon Jung’s intentions will be betrayed by his record. His only option to win this fight is to score a takedown in a hurry. If he gets Hitscock in his guard it will only be a matter of time before he deals a submission. It’s hard to tell how apt Hitscock is at defending takedowns since he’s only been taken down once but, he has managed to defend 2 out of 3 takedowns throughout his career. With about 86% of his matches ending in the first round Hitscock wont have to defend takedowns for long and if he’s able to stuff only one it will buy him the time he needs to land a KO punch. This match will be a very scary one for Jung. He will have to be very careful to avoid Hitscock’s lethal strikes and he knows that any one of them could end his night and quite possibly his career. Win or lose Jung will be remembered as one of the greatest after the success he had in his previous life as Isaac Frost. If Hitscock wins he will have the respect and admiration that he deserves and a 3-0 record in Legacy! There’s no doubt that this man is a contender and don’t be surprised when he is fighting for a title in the near future.

Don’t disregard this undercard! There’s a lot of big names down there and these guys will be on the main card soon enough. Let’s take a look…

205 lbs division - Ivan Kuznetsov vs. Jake Belcher

265 lbs division - Thomas Bannon vs. Sven Kristian Nielsen

265 lbs division - Farrokh Bulsara vs. Brodie Grundy

205 lbs division - Wayne Conner v Rafiki WhoHitYou

Legacy! 11

The Expo

Prepared by Russ T. Shackleford

Welcome back MMAniacs to Legacy’s second event of the weekend! I’ll keep this one short and sweet. There will be plenty of striking showcased throughout the entirety of this event and there will be plenty of KO’s if you’re into that type of thing. Who isn’t? While Friday’s event was comprised of mostly the big boys, this one will feature the small fries. There’s still going to be some of the big guys around but this event will last quite a bit longer. So bring your butt cushion, grab a beer and prepare for a battle royale! The main event will feature a couple of top 200 ranked heavyweights in your classic “gas in 2 minutes” type of match. In the co-main two fighters will fight for redemption but, only will have it. The question is who? From here on out I’ll endeavour to check any smack talk that’s happening on Buzz. Even if you’ve got an undercard fight we’ll try to make sure your colorful words are heard. Let’s go on with the action!

Main Event - 265 lbs division

Nick Fjera vs. Vincenzo Vitalli

In the main event of the evening we have the very successful Nick Fjera squaring off against the new comer Vincenzo Vitalli. Nick Fjera’s old score with Merkan Killmaz bubbled over into the Legacy! and Killmaz was heard demanding to avenge the loss he had previously faced at the hands of Fjera. Luck was not on his side and Fjera managed to negate Killmaz’s powerful high kicks and secure the 8th submission win of his career. The match began quickly enough and Fjera made it appear that we was going to keep the fight in the vertical and exchange blows with Killmaz. This changed when Fjera was cut by a powerful uppercut and dove in for a takedown. He succeeded but, Killmaz managed to push him off and stand up. The two exchanged blows for a time and it appeared that all was lost after Fjera took a number of body strikes and they became winded. Nick took a brief moment to recover and went on the defensive before scoring with another takedown. This time Killmaz couldn’t have gotten Fjera off of him if he had a crowbar. He worked a few strikes and then Nick exposed Killmaz’s arm and forced a shoulder popping kimura. After waking up on a beach in Hilo with no recollection of the past 20 years of his life, Vincenzo Vitalli was confused to say the least. He reached in his cargo shorts to find an MMA license that stated that he was very quick, had lethal high kicks and a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Flipping the card over he read a message scrawled in ink that stated “DON’T FIGHT ANYONE! YOU’LL KILL THEM! CALL ME Stu MacK! 555-5555” Vitalli made the call and learned that the creator had left him for dead and that this Stu intended to revive him and his career. He was also informed that in his past life he had been a MMA fighter who died due to injuries sustained after getting kneed in the head… a lot. Eager to begin redeeming himself Vitalli, began training hard and at the urging of his new manager he walked into a Hilo QFC and signed himself up. Vitalli excelled expectations and began a win streak that spanned 7 fights. In this time he signed with Imperial and triumphed over Legacy’s own Johnny Cage to earn the 265 lbs belt. He defended it once but alas it wasn’t meant to be and Vitalli lost at the hands of Bull Hurley. Stu and Vincenzo decided that the newly formed Legacy! was ripe for the picking and they knew that a move to Montreal would be in Vitalli’s best interests. At 23 years old Vitalli sports a massive scar from his legendary bout with Johnny Cage and has chased the man halfway across the globe looking to even the score. A fight between the two is inevitable and it will surely be a spectacle when it occurs. At 8-2-1 Fjera will come into this match with a slight experience advantage in comparison to the 7-2 Vitalli. Considering that, these two fighters have spent a nearly identical amount of time in the cage, Fjera with 49 minutes and 5 seconds while Vitalli has a grand total of 48 minutes and 9 seconds. Although Fjera deserves a badge for making it to a decision as a heavyweight he is still the faster finisher at 4 minutes and 28 seconds on average. Vitalli has made it to the 3rd once in his career but, has never gone the distance, he posted an average of 5 minutes and 21 seconds. With all 8 of his wins coming by way of submission, Fjera will certainly be looking for another this evening. Vitalli however is a striker and all 7 of his wins have come by via (T)KO. In addition to that he went on a 4 fight KO streak and it has become apparent that he possesses some astounding power. Fjera has only been knocked out by Stu Grimson but, who hasn’t? The guy has 13 clean KO’s. These heavyweight matches are more akin to races so expect to see Vitalli rush for the KO while Fjera hurries for a takedown and submission.

Co-Main event - 135 lbs division

Yong Wright vs Geralt of Rivia.

In the second event of the evening two Vendetta squadmates will look to prove who is the better alliance fighter in another classical matchup. Yong Wright is no stranger to diversity and grew up in Houston, where asian americans are a vast minority. He faced a few bad apples but, Yong was generally well received by his peers. Nevertheless, he sought to prove himself whenever he got the chance and this prompted him to join his high school wrestling team. He had resounding success and won state every year. Wright grew to love the sport and after high school he went to college to become a teacher. Seeking to relive his glory days Yong returned to his former high school and took up a position as the team’s wrestling coach. Coaching wasn’t enough though and spurned on by his team and assistant coaches Yong bravely took a step forward in his career and signed up for a QFC. With friends and family in attendance Wright armbarred his opponent and began a career that saw him go 11-5-1. On his road to glory Wright earned numerous distinctions including PFC’s 145 lbs belt and a 7 win streak. This streak ended with a draw when Wright squared off against Fabricio Valakas and found himself unable to submit or KO someone for the first time in his life. This heralded trouble for Wright and future opponents finally knew how he could beaten. Wright has been down on his luck since then and lost 4 matches in a row. A trip with NEX to Montreal caught Wright’s attention and he learned that a newly formed organization would be opening it’s doors. He wanted in. The arrangements have been made and Wright is set to begin his redemption in Legacy! Geralt of Rivia has been described as having an outwardly cold nature but, underneath that lies a fiercely loyal friend who is good humored and quick to offer advice to those who genuinely need it. Previously one of the top prospects in the world “The White Wolf” has also fallen on hard times amidst fierce competition. Since moving into the 135 class at Legacy! he has faced two consecutive defeats in matches he was winning on the scorecards. Both of these losses can be chalked up to armbars, there’s no doubt that Geralt has been hard at work training his takedown defense and escapes in preparation for this fight against the superior grappler Yong Wright. Geralt is rumored to be over 100 years old and it’s been said that he forged his birth certificate so that he might be able to compete in the league. If said birth certificate is to be believed Geralt will be the younger fighter at 22 by 8 years. Not only that but, Geralt will stand 6 cm taller and weigh 6 pounds less. Both of these fighters have 17 fights to their name but, Yong has spent 2 hours 57 minutes and 23 seconds of his life in the ring compared to Geralt’s 1 hour 54 minutes and 22 seconds. With an extra hour in the ring it should come as little surprise that Wright tends to be the less aggressive fighter. He averages 10 minutes and 26 seconds in comparison to Geralt who finishes in 6 minutes and 44 seconds on average. Neither of these fighters have ever won in a decision and if it goes the distance it will be Wright’s 3rd in a row. While Wright has shown the ability to both strike and submit with ease in the past he will be forced to shoot for takedowns this evening. He will have serious reservations about standing up against Geralt who has gained all 12 of his wins via (T)KO. Although he’s at a slight disadvantage in the clinch Wright has more strikes at his disposal and he could very well look to clinch up and hammer away with some elbows and knees. It won’t be long before he looks to pull guard and get this fight to the ground. Once there he will attempt to work some ground and pound while keeping an eye open for any submission opportunities. This clash between two vendetta managers could very well go the distance if Wright keeps his chin covered up and It will be entertaining to see who comes out on top.

135 lbs division

William Blake vs. Barack Obama

William Blake makes a triumphant return to Legacy! to take on... the head of state Barack Obama? Yes! we’ve tried to keep it on the down low but, Legacy! is proud to announce that the president of the United States has been taking fights to promote healthcare.gov. It’s unclear how fighting in Montreal will further his cause but, post match Obama likes to point out that all the damage he causes to his opponents and explain that if his opponents were American all they would need to do is sign on to the aforementioned website and request a plan that best suits their lifestyle (Failure to comply will of course result in a hefty fine.) William Blake came into his match against Geralt of Rivia as the underdog on paper. Skeptics turned to believers when Blake landed a powerful takedown into Geralt’s guard only seconds after the opening bell. Blake had no issues transitioning into half guard and then mount. Once there, Blake’s corner urged him to unleash a torrent of hammerfists and elbows which he willingly obliged. It’s unclear if Blake and Geralt have a history outside of MMA but, It did become apparent that Blake holds a special sort of contempt for the man. For the next few minutes he beat Geralt to a pulp from mount. When Geralt became dazed and ceased to defend intelligently Blake would take a break and allow his opponent to recover before continuing on. The onslaught continued on for a few minutes until Blake got bored and reached for an armbar. With only 2 seconds to spare in the first round, Geralt submitted and Blake walked away with his first Legacy! win. Barack Obama dealt a stunning defeat to the formerly undefeated Balfour Darrow in his debut on the Legacy! 7 undercard. In the first 30 seconds of the fight Obama was on the receiving end of a booming head kick and was chopped to the ground by a powerful leg kick. Obama displayed the type of heart that one only sees in movies and scrambled to his feet where he began unleashing combo after combo. In a matter of seconds Obama had knocked down Darrow, cut him and, finally rocked him. The volley ended the same way it started when Obama landed a 4-1-4 combo and sent Darrow’s eye rolling into the back of his skull. Afterwards Obama paid homage to KO’d opponent and made it clear that he wanted to go onto bigger and better things. We can only assume he was referring to being president of the world. While Obama was able to dominate Darrow he exposed a few chinks in his armor. If Blake wants to have success he’ll need to exploit Obama’s stamina as well as his lack of striking defense. With 8 of his 10 wins coming via submission, William Blake will surely be looking to put this one away with his grappling. Obama is no slouch on the ground though and he possesses a brown belt in BJJ as well. Barack’s skills lie mostly on his merits as a boxer but, Blake has never been KO’d in his 13 fight career. Obama is also very apt at earning submissions when the fancy strikes him and it is difficult to tell what his intentions will be in this fight. He could find himself in a very difficult situation if Blake decides to pin him up against the cage in a clinch. With that threat in mind, Obama will most likely attempt to keep this one in the vertical where he holds a clear boxing advantage. He’s already faced one submission loss in the past and I doubt that he’s too eager to be dealt another.

265 lbs division

Jyrki Kasvi vs Tetsuya Shiroo

The Samoan, Jyrki Kasvi will return to Legacy! to take on the Japanese newcomer Tetsuya Shiroo. Jyrki never knew his father. He was the product of a one night stand between Finnish politician Jyrki Kasvi and a samoan woman. Although the two only spent that one fateful night together Jyrki’s mother had fallen in love with the silver tongued politician but, it wasn’t meant to be. She named her son after the man and Jyrki was forced to grow up fatherless. The only thing his father left behind was an old guitar and an empty bottle of booze. In a story reminiscent of “a boy named Sue” Kasvi left Samoa with the intention of giving his estranged father a piece of his mind. No One knows for certain if Kasvi ever found his father but it is clear that he has been traveling the globe and honing his martial art skills for the past 4 years of years of his life. His travels have taken him to Hawaii, Japan, The U.S. and most recently, Canada. Along the way he has earned 7 wins and 3 losses in professional fights and has posted a 1-1 record since signing with Legacy! A record he will be looking to improve tonight against a former Yakuza underboss. To say that Tetsuya Shiroo has had a rough life would be a vast understatement. He was born into an impoverished family and forced to steal to survive from an early age. This led to an inevitable life of crime and Tetsuya’s skills caught the attention of the Suishin-Kai Yakuza. Shiroo joined the gang and was forced to pay them a homage of about $3000 monthly. In a poverty stricken town Shiroo often struggled to collect the money in time and had to pay up by cutting of joints of his fingers instead. Shiroo’s luck never changed and after 4 failed marriages and the birth of a son with down syndrome he had been through enough. His car was totalled after he hit a deep pothole and he took his grievance up with the mayor. His threats and letters were left unopened so Tetsuya took it upon himself to get what he wanted. He tracked down the mayor and shot him twice in the back, murdering him. His attempted suicide failed and Tetsuya was locked in prison. Tetsuya was not forgotten by the Yakuza and in a strange turn of fate, they were able to work out a deal with the prison. If Tetsuya won 5 fights in a row he would be released and granted asylum in America. Tetsuya fought hard for his freedom under the pseudonym “The Yakuza” and won all of these fights with ease. Unable to return to Japan officially Tetsuya has taken to a life of fighting and has proven that you don’t need all your fingers to fight well. 5 years later Tetsuya is now 10-3 and looking to prove himself in Montreal. Both of these fighters are remarkable boxers but, Jyrki is one of the most elite in the game and he will have a significant advantage from long hours in the gym sparring. With that said Tetsuya could have more power and he will certainly have an edge in Muay Thai. Not only that but, Tetsuya has a great chin on him. His only flaw is that he’s a bleeder and has faced 3 TKO’s due to his cuts. Jyrki on the other hand has been TKO’d once and after a life of abuse, his chin finally gave out when he faced Farrokh Bulsara in his previous Legacy! match. There are serious reservations that this fight will go to the ground. The notion is an entertaining one though and these two fighters are virtually identical at grappling. Neither has had any luck with submissions so we’ll likely see an epic struggle. Whoever holds the full mount for longer will likely walk away with a TKO victory but, don’t be fooled. These two guys will stand toe to toe for some classic pugilism.

170 lbs division

Sergio Bujol vs. Sam Hall

Any spectator loves these striker vs. striker match-ups but, as a manager they can be gut wrenching. It’s always hard to tell who is the better fighter and upsets happen as often as the sun rises. Sergio Bujol will be seeking to make a name for himself at the expense of the accomplished Sam Hall in the final event on the main card. As a young boy Sergio would watch planes come and go from Tocumen International airport and when his family made the trek to the Miraflores Locks he would sit all day and watch ships make their way through the canal. He would often play a game with his brothers and sisters where they would make up stories about the destinations and occupants of these craft. Sergio began dreaming of a different life and one day he turned to his family and pointed at a ship with a big red white and blue flag on the side. “This ship contains the great boxer, Sergio Bujol and it is traveling to America.” He ran and jumped onto the freightliner and hid in the bowels of the ship knowing that he might never see his family again. Sergio disembarked without incident and travelled to Las Vegas where he began his life as a prize fighter. That was 6 years ago and since then Sergio has earned 10 wins and 5 losses. During that time he earned enough money to buy a home and his manager “The Dude” flew his family first class so they could live with him. With his family growing ever larger Bujol continues to fight so that his young ones can have a life that he was never afforded. Sam Hall was desperate for a KO in his fights against Liam Donnelly and threw out everything at his disposal. Liam had no intentions of taking any of Hall’s power shots and chose instead to focus on accurate counter punching. Liam clinched Sam with the intention of pulling guard but, Hall knew what was coming all too well. Hall was confident in his superior MT ability and kept the fight in the clinch. Neither fighter was having much success landing anything until Donnelly created a bit of space and slipped a massive uppercut through Hall’s guard. He tried desperately to re-engage the clinch but, the damage was done and Donnelly landed another strike that saw Hall crumpled on the mat. At 1-2 Hall has had a tough go in Legacy! but he has taken on some top notch competition, proving that he can hang with the best. Sam Hall has a total of 14 fights to his name and Sergio Bujol has 15 fights. While these two are evenly matched as far as experience goes, Sam has had a slightly tougher schedule against slightly more experienced foes. His opponents posted a pre-fight combined record of 131-55 in comparison to Bujol’s 106-51. With 4 TKO’s and 1 KO in the first round Bujol tends to finish his matches in 9 minutes and 23 seconds on average. Sam Hall on the other hand has 6 finishes in the first round but, 3 of these times it wasn’t him doing the finishing. He averages only 6 minutes and 51 seconds. Both of these fighters have taken TKO’s in the past but Sam Hall is the only one to receive a clean KO punch. No doubt that he’ll be very protective of his chin in this fight. At a glance these two are very evenly matched boxers, Sam Hall is much more accurate outside of the clinch though. Inside the clinch Bujol will have a slight advantage and he has no problem landing strikes with remarkable accuracy. I’m hesitant to even mention it but, on the ground it’s any man’s game. Sam Hall will have a slight wrestling advantage and has shown that he is typically the aggressor and can counter just as well. Bujol on the other hand is very cautious and will look to capitalize on any mistakes. All things considered, both of these fighters favor a good ole fashioned ground and pound and will seek to dominate the top.

Much like the previous undercard there’s some big names below as well as a few newcomers. Show them some love or scout your next opponent!

Legacy! 12

The Montreal Sports Complex

Prepared by Boom Stick

Welcome back to another exciting edition of Legacy! I’d be lying if I said last weekend was a stunning success. It would appear that a lot of MMA fans are too pansy to witness two straight days of broken bones, hematomas and, bruised egos. I guess that’s why they’re spectators instead of participants. Nevertheless, The double feature was a great one and it allowed many of our fighters to gain some much needed street cred that will serve them well in the future. It’s interesting to note that every single fight was ended by (T)KO or decision. That’s right, not one single submission which is rather amazing. Legacy! showcases some excellent submission specialists but, none of them were able to finish. Last weekend’s events were a farewell to our former home at the Expo. We’re sad to see her go but, Legacy! will return there occasionally if need be. We are proud to announce that fights will now take place in front of twice as many fans at our new base of operations, the Montreal Sports Complex! There were many exciting fights but, MVP of the weekend goes to manager Mike Jursllla, He had 3 fights in Legacy! on the same day and won all 3 of them with ease. Louie has a great show lined up for you guys this Saturday and there will be some excellent match ups on this card. The main event will feature our first ever 170 lbs title as the 87th ranked welterweight Charles Bronson takes on a Polish Eagle Nest hall of famer and 61st ranked welterweight De Bruyne. That match will surely be a battle to the death and neither fighter will leave the ring unscathed. The Co-Main will be a great one as well. Two fighters who formerly contended for the 205 lbs title return to switch their focuses to one another. I tend to be a bit long winded so I’ll stop there. Let’s get on with the action!

Main event - 155 lbs title fight

Charles Bronson vs. De Bruyne

The main event on this card is guaranteed to be an entertaining fight as the immensely popular Charles Bronson takes on the undefeated newcomer De Bruyne. Bronson faced a tough match against Lorne Malvo in his debut and lost after receiving some nasty blows to the head. Since then he has overcome numerous difficulties and faced the top competitors in his weight class. Bronson sought to test himself against Lorne Malvo but, he has since become a benchmark for other fighters himself. Both Bronson and De Bruyne have faced some top notch competition and left rather unscathed. Combined these two fighters have a combined record of 22-1 and De Bruyne will look to improve his impressive 12-0 record at Bronson’s expense. De Bruyne was the smartest kid in most of his classes in Bridgetown, Barbados. He studied math heavily and was groomed to join his father trading stocks at the local exchange, acquiring the name “The Brain.” De Bruyne had other plans though. He grew up across the street from a football field and would often play with the local boys in his off time. Scuffles occurred and It didn’t take long for him to realize his innate athleticism and fighting ability. He sought to improve his skills and began practicing MMA at a local gym. When he turned 18 De Bruyne knew what he wanted to do with his life. He caught word that NEX would be hosting their warzone tournament and he quickly decided that he wanted in on the action. He fought his way to the finals with ease and gathered up 4 TKO’s in a row. Although he was unable to TKO Brandon Rush in the finals, his work ethic shined through and he earned the distinction of winning the fight via unanimous decision and captured the coveted 170 lbs belt. De Bruyne stayed loyal to NEX and defended his belt 7 times before the org closed it’s doors. With 8 TKO’s, 1 KO and, 3 decision victories De Bruyne might not be the hardest hitter but, he has an excellent chin on him and makes up for his lack of power by outworking anyone in the opposite corner. Bronson has a very similar record and with 7 TKO’s, 1 KO and, 2 decision wins. He isn’t the most powerful fighter either and It should come as little surprise that Bronson is a remarkable athlete as well. These two are nearly identical in height and weight, Bronson will weigh 1 more pound at 162 and De Bruyne will stand 1 cm taller at 175 cms. De Bruyne has had one more fight than Bronson and a slightly tougher schedule. Bruyne’s first 4 matches were against undefeated fighters and his opponents produced a combined record of 69-14 before facing off against him. That doesn’t mean Bronson hasn’t had a tough schedule as well, he’s faced 6 undefeated fighters and his opponents posted a combined record of 60-15. These two are so evenly matched that the outcome of this one will be hard to gauge. They both have excellent chins and this fight will likely go the distance. With that said, Bronson will hold a slight boxing advantage while De Bruyne will have a slight MT advantage. These two edges will even out though and it will be up to the fighters to use their strengths to devastating effect. The funny thing is, On average Bronson is the more accurate kicker whilst De Bruyne is more accurate at striking. Both of these men are brown belts but, De Bruyne is the more accomplished grappler and will have a slight wrestling advantage. He could shoot in for a takedown and look to ground and pound Bronson but, this will be no small feat. Bronson is very difficult to takedown and he can transition rather well. There’s no telling what will happen with this fight and setting spoiler alerts is advised!

Co-Main event - 205 lbs division

Edinger Nucleus vs. Ravi Shankoli

Next up on the main card we have two fighters who share a common hatred for Patrick Brody. Edinger Nucleus took on Brody most recently in Legacy! 8 as he vied for the 265 lbs title. The match was a very close one and at the end of 5 the judges scored the contest 48-47. Edinger managed to cut Brody early in the first round but, failed to capitalize on the injury. Meanwhile Brody used his slight MT advantage to devastating effect in the clinch. Nucleus knew that knocking out Brody would be a daunting task and decided instead to fight for a decision win with clean and accurate jabbing. A majority of this fight was spent in the clinch where both fighters thought they had a clear advantage. Brody was much more aggressive and managed to land more than twice as many blows as Nucleus. It was all tied up coming into the 5th round and both fighters were beaten, bruised and dazed. Long hours spent in the gym training conditioning was paying off for both fighters but, it became apparent that Nucleus was getting exhausted. Brody thoroughly outworked him in the end and managed to land a glancing elbow that swung the momentum in his favor. At the end of 5 a bloody Brody walked away with his 265 lbs title belt securely wrapped around his waist. Ravi Shankoli fought Brody first in Legacy! 6 to a very similar result that ended in a 50-45 decision. Ravi however was getting the better of the ‘clinch game’ although both fighters posted similar results. If Shankoli had kept the fight there he might have edged ahead on the scorecards but, his heart was in striking at a distance. Unfortunately for him Brody felt the same way and managed to out-aggres him by a vast margin. Shankoli was landing strikes more accurately but, he couldn’t compete with the pace that Brody had set. Nevertheless Brody was getting frustrated in the 3rd round and began wondering if he would ever be able to KO the nimble Shankoli. He began holding a grudge and the enmity he felt towards Ravi became apparent when he kicked him square in the ‘pills.’ This earned both fighters a hard earned respite although it might have cost Ravi the ability to have children in the future. When the respite ended the normally zen Ravi was visibly upset, Brody didn’t offer an apology and Ravi wouldn’t have accepted it if he did. He had vengeance in mind and two minutes later he kicked Brody square in the ‘goodies’ and earned himself a nice respite for his effort. Ravi was now smiling and it was Brody who was upset. As a result he laid down an unholy beatdown that secured him the last two rounds with ease. Ravi and Nucleus stack up rather well, not only are they both in possession of excellent chins they posses great power behind their punches. Ravi has been cleanly KO’d before but, that was at the hands of Stu Grimson who possesses unnatural power. He will make up for this slight fault with a 5 fight experience advantage over Nucleus. Ravi will also have dominance of the stand up game with his sensational boxing. Nucleus will combat this with a few advantages of his own, Muay Thai and a brown belt in BJJ. As far as strategy goes, Nucleus might stand toe to toe for a time but, he knows that won’t be sustainable for fifteen minutes. Instead he might clinch up to look to pull guard, sweep and, work his way into mount where he can ground and pound his way to a TKO. The clinch will be daunting and Edinger won’t want to spend much time there. Ravi has every strike in the book at his disposal and can utilize them very effectively in the clinch. With all that said, these two are strikers at heart and there is no doubt that whoever can strike and defend more effectively will be the victor in this fight.

265 lbs division

Taw DawTang vs. George Patton

Taw DawTang returns to Legacy! to take on the newcomer George Patton. The only thing these two have in common is their height and superb wrestling and it will be interesting to see what that translates to after the opening bell. The newly freed Taw DawTang faced a tough battle in his Legacy! debut against Anton Pavlovich. After landing numerous unanswered strikes and slipping into mount, it seemed as though DawTang had the match in the bag. When the bell rang for the second round DawTang was eager for a knockout and began looking to throw a heavy blow. Pavlovich had wisened up though and sought to dodge strikes more actively as well as landing some counter punches of his own. It wasn’t long before DawTang walked straight into a crisp right hand that sent him plummeting to the canvas. Pavlovich wanted to put this one away standing he and waved his unsteady opponent back to his feet. DawTang was in trouble but, was saved by the bell just short of being KO’d. The brief respite wasn’t enough and DawTang was still hurt when the 3rd round began. He’s got a big heart in his big chest though and he came out swinging like a madman. Pavlovich played in right and baited DawTang into walking into another huge right hand, This time he followed DawTang to the canvas and pounded a quick TKO out of the dazed DawTang. For the first time in his life, DawTang was TKO’d and he has stated that it won’t happen again if there’s anything he can do about it. We’ll see if those words ring true this Saturday as he takes on another accomplished KO artist. “General” George S. Patton is a rough and tough man who has lacked for little in his life. He’s the type of guy who is good at whatever he puts his mind to. At only 24 years old he has racked up honors in track and field, sharpshooting, fencing, broadswords, polo, commanding armies, the pentathlon, running, riding and even poetry. It’s been reported that Patton might have won the olympics for sharpshooting with a pistol but, instead opted to use a .38 calibre instead of the standard .22. He maintains that the judges didn’t score one of his shots because it passed so cleanly through a previous bullseye shot that the target paper was undisturbed. There is no doubt that Patton is a competitor at whatever he chooses to do and recently he has chosen to face his foes directly and step into the world of MMA. He suffered some KO’s early in his career but, his power is overwhelming and he has been on a rampage recently with 8 straight wins. He’ll be looking to take the next step forward on the path to 10 wins this Saturday. With all of the stand up advantages in Patton’s corner and all the grappling advantages in DawTang’s corner this one will be easy to call. DawTang will be forced to take this fight to the ground if he wants to secure a win. This task won’t be easy, Patton has never been taken down and his opponents usually only get 1 attempt. DawTang will have to make the most of that first takedown attempt because, a second could end his night. Patton loves to strike and he will surely look to clinch up and take advantage of his edge in MT. DawTang might see this as an opportunity to get the fight to the ground but, clinching with Patton could quickly end this fight prematurely. If he finds himself there he’ll be forced to contend with Patton’s dangerous knees and elbows. These two know their assignments all too well and whoever executes more effectively will have his hand raised. The question is who?

Randall Wickam vs. George Palmer

Randall “Ray-Ray” Wickam makes his way on to the main card to take on the “Old Doorman” George Palmer. Randall Wickam has had great career but, he has never been in the limelight. He has been consistently undervalued and underrated by organizations and fellow fighters. Every time he has had something good going for him an unfortunate loss has sent him back to square one. He has moved to Legacy! with hopes of building a name for himself and after TKOing Adryan Pruess in the first round of his debut it’s become apparent that this young man has bright things in store for his future. He will look to improve upon his 9-3 record Saturday. George Palmer lies on the other end of the spectrum. As far as MMA goes he’s a loyal and seasoned veteran. He’s known as the “Old Doorman” because, he has held the door to retirement open for so many of his opponents. In fact, 7 of his first 8 opponents have been sent into an early retirement with the help of George. He spent 4 years of his life with the Death Squad and suffered some considerable brain damage in that time span. Now 31 years old, George has led a successful career that has earned him 15 wins and 8 losses with 11 of those wins coming via submission. He might be aging but, George wants to make waves before he shuts the door on his own career. He has recently moved to Montreal and signed with Legacy! in hopes of reliving faded glory days and leaving a Legacy that him and his brother Santiago can be proud of. They want to ensure that future generations remember the name Palmer as well as the men who held that distinction. At 2-1 in Legacy! Palmer has certainly lived up to his reputation and it’s obvious how intent he is about going out with a bang. With 2 hours 50 minutes and 16 seconds of his life spent in the ring, Palmer will hold a significant experience advantage over Wickam who clocked in at just 1 hour 29 minutes and 6 seconds. So who's the faster finisher? That distinction belongs to Palmer although these two fighters have posted nearly identical averages. Wickam with an average of 7 minutes and 26 seconds compared to Palmer’s 7 minutes and 24 seconds. If bets were open, the 2nd round would be a sure deal. Neither of these fighters are very adept in the standup game. Randall will have a large boxing advantage while Palmer will have a significant MT advantage. In a strange turn of events the GNP wrestler, Randall Wickam will instead find himself with superior BJJ; The submission specialist George Palmer will have the distinction of being the better wrestler. This will force Wickam to make a tough choice. Will he attempt to remain standing and attempt to get a knockout or shoot for the takedown? If he stays standing he might be able to knock Palmer out cold but, if he doesn’t do it quickly Palmer will score a takedown and hold the dominant top position. Wickam knows that he needs to hold the top if he wants to ground and pound his way to a win. If he can work his way into mount the fight will be all over for Palmer. Likewise for Palmer, if he holds the top he’s almost guaranteed a victory. As far as transitions go, these two are as equal as it gets. They both hold a 48% success rate and I doubt either fighter will allow the other to improve position much. It looks as though this fight could very well be won on the ground and with two evenly matched grapplers it will be a very interesting struggle to see who come out on top.

Kyz Metamoris vs. Travis Browne

Accomplished BJJ black belt Kyz Metamoris will make his debut against the high flying KO artist Travis Browne in the final fight on the main card… or it’s the first fight if you’re watching it live… but, you aren’t. You’re reading this preview when you could have bought imaginary tickets to this imaginary event hosted by our imaginary organization. Enough with the semantics though, let’s get on with the preview. Kyz Metamoris was born and raised on a small island in Micronesia. With neighboring tribes encroaching upon his homeland a war became inevitable. Kyz was raised to lead troops in battle and his father drilled him endlessly in any form of combat that seemed appropriate. From an early age, Kyz learned how to fire weapons, throw spears, fight hand to hand and, most importantly he was taught how to grapple effectively. The day finally came and Kyz’s smaller island of (unpronounceable name) was raided by a neighboring tribe. Kyz’s father rallied his troops and managed to retake the island but, it cost him his life. Kyz took up the mantle and his small alliance named the island after the clan that had brought them together, Metamoris. Kyz rallied neighboring tribesman and his small alliance grew into something much larger. Together they fought and drove the invaders off and Kyz personally broken the arms and legs of many warriors. When the fighting was done Kyz tried his hand as a ruler but, abdicated his leadership when he realized he couldn’t wrestle his way out of tender diplomatic situations. He left the island at 19 and began training to take on the wide world of MMA. 5 years, 9 wins and, 5 losses later Kyz signed with Legacy! and is set to make his debut. Travis Browne has already dispensed with the debuts and is ready to jump into his second Legacy! match after defeating Master Wong in just under two minutes. His career had hit a low awhile back and he faced 4 defeats in a row. Travis was unperturbed and bounced back with a 4 win streak that allowed him to capture VFC’s Super Heavyweight belt. He defending his belt proudly but, left in the midst of a contract dispute. After a short and ill fated run with CBK Browne knew it was time for a change which brings us to this Saturday. Browne will go into this fight 9 cms taller at 205 cm and at 289 lbs he’s not the type of guy you want on top of you. Luckily he will have to cut weight for this fight. One only has to glance at these two men’s records to know that this will be your classic brawl and sprawl vs. grappler match up. Kyz has racked up 89% of his wins via submission while Browne has earned all 10 of his wins by way of knockout. Browne holds a significant advantage in both boxing and Muay Thai whereas Kyz is by far a superior grappler with a black belt in BJJ. Not only that but, he possesses a remarkable ability to take down his foes quickly and Browne’s takedown defense isn’t anything spectacular. In the past he’s been the one scoring takedowns and hasn’t taken a whole lot of time to train his defense. Like many Heavyweight fights, this one will be another race, Browne will be running for the KO while Kyz is gunning for a takedown and submission. Who will reach the finish line first? Only time will tell.

Well, that’s all for the main card folks. If you’ve got a fighter down there ↓↓↓ Do some buzzing and give me something to write about. Let’s have a look at the undercard…
