Primal Combat returns the Hard Knocks arena in New York for Primal 11 on Saturday the 20th of February in what promises to be the most stacked card yet, with two title fights and a barrage of other up and coming contenders, the night promises to deliver on excitement and most importantly, violence.

Main Event

Featherweight Championship

Jacoby Nichalos vs Brandon Longson

The nights main event sees two of the stalwarts in the featherweight division collide to decide the innaugral featherweight champion in a matchup that pits grappler against striker.

Jacoby Nichalos is riding high on a four fight streak to begin his career, with all 4 wins coming by way of TKO finish, albeit in a now defunct organisation, DFC where he held the title before its ultimate demise. Nichalos will be looking to pepper Longson with strikes early to try and take the fighting spirit out of him and secure the strap for his trophy cabinet.

Brandon Longson comes into the fight coming off a shock win over the highly touted prospect, David Yung in the first round in his last outting. Longson will be battling some mental demons coming into this fight with rumors circling that his morale has dropped off and he is fighting a severe lack of confidence coming into the fight, the signs are not looking good and if he doesn't raise his chin it's unlikely they will be raising his hand at the end.

Co-Main Event

Welterweight Championship

Buri Bokh vs JoJo Monsoon

The night continues to roll on when the first of two title fights takes place inside the Primal cage, in a bout that sees two undefeated knock out machines collide in search for the position at the top of the table in the stacked welterweight division.

Buri Bokh is arguably one of the most popular fighters on the Primal roster and it's no surprise he's one of the highest rated either, rampaging through his first 6 fights with big finishes inside the first round, the Mongolian national wrestling champion will be looking to make short work of Monsoon on Saturday night too.

JoJo Monsoon is looking very confident coming into this fight, with a strong wrestling base and destructive knockout power, this fight is a perfect matchup for him. Monsoon will be looking to avoid the clinch at all costs, however his wrestling should hold up well enough to not be too threatened by Bokh's expertise and power, expect Monsoon to unload from the outside with absolute fast balls to try and starch the Mongolian native and keep the belt in America.

Kengo Mulumba

"Kengo still only ranked at number seven? Bah, Kengo will soon fix this. Lickle Paindog is up next and I hope the lickle man's chin is ready because King Kengo is not here to play his silly jitsu games. Kengo will continue to set records at Primal for fastest KO; I finish fights almost as fast as Lickle Paindog finishes in bed. Kengo is strongest fighter in division and when I have finished knocking out all the featherweights I will move up to lightweight and do the same there - no one is safe. Kengo pack more muscle than the combined forces of NATO, if you need to test your fighters chin you know who to call."

Antonio Salinas

"Excited to finally be making my Primal debut. I've been training hard over in Montreal but the org I was signed to shut down, so my thanks to the Primal management for offering me the opportunity to showcase my skills here in New York: you won't be disappointed. It's going to be fireworks tonight. Ze Portugal is a worthy opponent - great chin and like me isn't afraid to stand and trade blows - looking forward to going up against someone more my caliber.

Portugal may have a few years on me but truth is I'm the more technical boxer and when he starts missing with those wild shots he's going to leave openings, openings I will exploit all day long. That granite chin is going to be put to the test and, if all goes to plan, I will be the first to knock him out on his feet - he's a tough fighter but he hasn't run into anyone like me yet. It's going to be a great fight and I think the fans will enjoy this. Much respect Portugal for taking on this fight and I'll see you in the cage, very soon...."

Antonio Salinas

"Now that is what I'm talking about. Much respect to Portugal: very tough opponent, but at the end of the day I knew my combination of power and movement would be too much for him - I'm sure you'll go on to have a great career, you just got unlucky tonight by getting matched up against me. Looking forward to seeing who Primal has in store for me next. As for the rest of the division, you should be worried - it took me just three minutes to knock out an opponent with a granite chin, I move like a flyweight and hit like a heavyweight - if there's one guy you don't want to be facing across the cage it's me."

Primal is set to rock the Liberty Dome once again when it returns to the New York nightlife with Primal 12. The card features many of the upper echelon of the organisation who are striving for their shots at glory inside the Primal cage.

Main Event

Uriah Gastelum vs Iikka Runnisto

The main event features two of the best middleweight prospects on the Primal roster, when 5-0 Gastelum squares off with the impressive 4-0 Runnisto. Both fighters are absolute steam rollers with almost all of their fights being finished by turning the lights out on their opponents in devastating fashion.

Uriah Gastelum, a main stay around the top ten fighters of Primal since it's opening will be coming into this fight full of confidence and belief in his finishing power, having put Maia down in a knockout of the night performance in his last outing on the Primal stage. Gastelum will come into the fight with his usual tenacity and aggression and look to throw flurries of punches and eventually stick the takedown to deliver more punishment on the ground. Like always, Gastelum will be there for a fight, the question is whether his opponent can handle the heat.

Iikka Runnisto is one the finest prospects on the middleweight roster right now, a much younger, higher skilled fighter then the powerful Gastelum, it will be up to him to live up to the expectation in the face of an explosion of brawling aggression when he sets foot inside the cage with Gastelum. Training out of Helsinki, the sprawl and brawling European boxer will be looking to deliver the knockout blow before his opponent takes this one to the mat.

Runnisto has a more polished striking game and keeping this one on the feet will be vital in his quest to solidifying his status as a middleweight contender, because if this one hits the ground, the fight will be anyones for the taking as neither fighter holds a distinct advantage on the mat.

Kengo Mulumba

"Kengo happy today so he write song for lickle paindog to celebrate his fight tonight:"

*Kengo starts singing to the tune of Bad Boys - Inner Circle*

"Paindawwwg, watchu, watchu gonna do when Kengo come for you

Tell me, watchu gonna do....

Watchu gonna do when Kengo comes for you

When you were eight and you had bad traits

You go to school and learn the Jiu Jitsu

So why are acting like a bloody fool

This is mixed martial arts not shiatsu"

*repeat chorus*

"Thank you! I continue to work on my English but no worries, my manager say "fighting is a universal language" and while Kengo not entirely sure what that means, I agree - Kengo understand see other man, hit him on chin and BOOM fight over. I see you all tonight, thank you."

Kengo Mulumba

"Silly lickle paindog, trying takedowns on big Kengo? Much foolishness - we all know what happens when you try to take Kengo down. Kengo would like to apologise to the fans for taking so much time to get the KO, my manager tell me to go slow and let lickle paindog make fool of himself with the takedowns, but fans had to wait almost two minutes for King Kengo to get knockout. This is not acceptable, in future I will not listen to manager.

But Kengo is happy to get win and he is thinking maybe it is time for Primal to give the King of the Congo title fight? Kengo knows he is stronger than any man in division and he happy to fight anyone, but he is liking the shiny belt and thinking how good it would look on my waist. But I will wait to see what Mr. War Pig says - he is good owner and Kengo respect whatever decision he makes.

Kengo will continue to rumble in the urban jungle of New York and once again thank you to all the fans."

Primal Combat rocks the Hard Knocks arena once again on Saturday for Primal 13 with a fight card that boasts two title fights at heavyweight and light heavyweight, as well as a raft of up and coming young stars setting foot inside the Primal cage once again on their quest for glory.

Main Event

James Marley vs Vincent Muji

The nights headline act sees the heavyweight kingpin James Marley square off with the undefeated BJJ phenom Vincent Muji in a battle for the belt.

James Marley enters the fight looking unstoppable at heavyweight with the powerful unit having finished the impressive Maldonado in his last fight with an armbar, showing his ever growing skillset. A big man with even bigger power, Marley is setting himself up for a big run in the heavyweight division and is widely tipped to hold onto that belt and extend his Primal streak on Saturday night, as long as he can avoid the ground game of his opponent.

Vincent Muji comes into the fight making his Primal debut after an impressive run fighting in Tokyo for BRFC before jetting across to New York to compete at Primal. A career so far that has netted him three TKO finishes and two submission finishes as well as two draws has seen him step straight up and challenge the heavyweight phenom Marley.

Key to Muji taking this fight will be his ability to get this fight to the ground where he stands a chance of toppling Marley. Without that takedown, we may see Muji get starched early by the heavy hands of Marley.

James Marley (7-1-0) 265lbs

It looks Vincent Muji needed a little Dutch courage to face me in the cage and went on a night out in the town. Unfortunately for him he looks to have had a couple too many pina colarda's and will turn up for the fight a little worse for wear. A huge mistake to show up for a title fight with me and not be 100% fit but I'll do him a favour and KO him early so he can get some much needed rest.

Shawn McLean looks to be getting his game together although he might be getting a bit big for his boots. He could be trying to become the KO king of the Heavyweights. Hopefully we'll meet soon so I can put you back in your place.

James Marley

Balls! Well that didn't go to plan...................Taxi!!!

Looks like I under-estimated my opponent and neglected my ground game, an expensive lesson to learn but at least my manager isn't so mad that he sacked me. Back to the gym to make sure it doesn't happen again. That belt is still mine so whoever holds it better not get too comfortable with it.

Primal hits the Hard Knocks on Saturday night with one of the largest events to date, boasting two title fights and an array of up and coming fighters, the stage is set for a record breaking event.

Main Event

Greg Winklejax vs Trzy Trzy

The main event of the night pits two world class 280k middleweights against each other in a collossal title fight. Winklejax is one of the most exciting and popular fighters to ever set foot inside the Primal cage, however the highly impressive Trzy will be looking to cement his place at the top of the heap and prove his mettle in a fiery showdown between two natural finishers.

Winklejax comes into the fight riding on a wave of knockout finishes and a perception of invincibility. Winklejax is a very accurate and aggressive boxer who uses his height and strength to put pressure on in the clinch and land dirty boxing shots, it is no doubt going to be his gameplan again coming into this fight, the only question is whether he can do it against a wrestler as good as Trzy.

Trzy comes to Primal combat after a successful stint at Golden Fist Fighting Championship, where he was able to win and defend his light heavyweight title. Stepping down in weight class may see Trzy become even more dangerous, he will be the heavier man, however his smaller stature may become a problem if the much taller Winklejax can clinch up with him or choose to keep him on the outside with the jab.

Trzy usually utilises an aggressive clinch game, however he may look to avoid that aspect given his considerable height disadvantage and choose to try and drag his opponent to the ground where his wrestling pedigree will allow him to dominate and lay the ground and pound onslaught on his way to capturing the gold.

If this fight exits the first round, all signs point toward Trzy being able to wear the champion down with his superior grappling abilities, however Winklejax has the power to finish this fight at any moment, so don't blink once the bell rings to start this fight.

Co-Main Event

Heng Jiang vs Ebeneezer Darkk

The co-main event of the night sees two of the best lightweights at Primal come to blows, when the champion Jiang puts it all on the line against the highly skilled Muay Thai striker, Darkk.

Heng Jiang has seen nothing but success so far in his Primal career, capturing the lightweight title with a devastating head kick knockout of prolific grappler Jose Perez and winning the lightweight tournament. Every fight the Chinese native has taken part in, inside the Primal has resulted in a finish and he will no doubt be looking to stop this one early too. Darkk will be his greatest test to date and poses a genuine threat to his positioning at the top of the division, however the unpredictability of Jiangs striking game, and his ability to take the fight anywhere he wants may see him come out the other end of this one on top still.

Ebeneezer Darkk has been nothing short of a revelation since his Primal debut back in late December, disposing of his first two opponents inside the Primal cage at 17 seconds and 1 minute and 5 seconds respectively. A devatasting kickboxer with huge power and two head kick finishes to his name, the New York native will be out to stun his home crowd once again and take out the champ, Jiang in vicious fashion. Expect Darkk to not deviate from his natural kicking game too much, and try and use his height advantage to land that destructive head kick once again.

Punches, kicks, violence and aggression, that's what these two fighters are all about, this may just be the fight of the night. Who's chin will hold up?

Shawn "Gravex" McLean (281133)

After knocking out Obi Congo in 38 seconds, I have had no less than 4 "fighters" turn down fights against me. I won't name any names here, but you all know who you are.

All this time on the shelf is making me a bit antsy. Which is why I need to show respect to Donovan Statler for stepping up to the challenge. Ain't nothing personal man, just business when I knock you out. With all these "fighters" refusing to fight me, i don't get paid for a very long time so i will be aiming not only to finish you but to collect any bonus I can.

"I was chilling, by the pool, doing big things, lots of beautiful women when my manager called me up and told me he had something for me. When he gave me the contract to sign I signed immediately because lets be honest, Warpig wants me to save and be the future of his 185 division. I'm going to rip this division slowly apart until the bodies start counting up. Another One. And Another One. And Another One.... And Another one.... people do say I look like a skinny Khaled. Pretty soon I'll start collecting belts. I'm here."

"The Wolf" Michael Brophy

Having signed a deal to compete in Primal Combat earlier this month, Michael Brophy requested some time before his first bout to ensure he was ready to compete, signing with Primal before then was just a statement of his intentions for the future. We sent our man on the streets to catch up with the fighter that manager Grant Brophy is calling one of his brightest prospects ever!

R: First off Michael, great to catch up with you. You've had two "test" bouts so far, and clearly displayed enough to convince Grant Brophy that you have what it takes to compete in the MMA world. What kind of a fighter do you see yourself as?

MB: First off, call me Wolf. Second, I don't even think I showed what I am all about in those fights. Yeah I made two jackasses submit, but I ain't even a grappler bro. When I am in the cage, I am there to knock someone's head clean off their shoulders. I got told to "mix it up" in the first two fights, so I figured why the fuck not take them bitches down and submit them. Now people know I got a ground game in my arsenal, they better watch out for when I start making heads roll.

R: Alright Wolf, those are some fairly strong words. You signed to the Light Heavyweight division, which is one of the more stacked in the org with 29 other fighters in the division. Do you see any potentially tricky opponents in there that you might come up against?

MB: Yeah I've already noted some of the guys I expect to compete against in order to win the gold in this division. Corey Harper has a great manager, so even though he looks pretty mediocre now, I am expecting him to be a top fighter in the future, and it's pretty much the same case with Malcolm Merlin, although he looks more like a ready made competitor. Don't get me wrong, I know I can beat them on any given day, but they will be feeling the same so it's just a case of making sure I am ready to go toe to toe with them both when the time comes.

R: And you don't have any comments to make on any other fighters in the division?

MB: They all absolutely suck. Bunch of 25 year olds who are trying this like it's some sort of gimmick. I would love to knock every single one of them out, but let's face it, after you beat a couple of them, you might as well have beaten all of them. I gotta work my way to the title by beating some of these cun...(A producer then notifies Wolf that he is not allowed to use that word due to "regulations")....by beating some of these cans.

R: Right ehrm...Your roster mate Ash Brophy also signed for Primal Combat and he will be competing in the 185lbs division. Do you have any comments to make on that, or can you tell us more about Ash?

MB: Nope, his business is his business. Only thing I know about him is he likes Pokémon, end of story.

R: Let's wrap it up with a bit of fun. Having not competed yet in Primal Combat, but your title intentions being very apparent, can you give us a prediction of how long you feel it will be before you fight for the title?

MB: I got 4 fights on this contract I signed. I am expecting to have to use all of those fights to make a name for myself, but I will say my 6th fight I should be competing for the title, bar some catastrophe that prevents it. Heck, if I know fools out all the time it may even come a fight before that, but I will be reserved in my guess and say the 6th fight.

R: Thanks for the interview Mich-...I mean Wolf, and we look forward to seeing you in your debut, whenever it is announced.

Primal bursts onto the scene yet again in New York, when it brings the show to the Liberty Dome once again in a night that will see a welterweight title fight, two top heavyweights square off, and an array of lightweight and welterweight contenders continue to try and make a name for themselves.

Main Event

Buri Bokh vs Alec Johnson

The phenom, Buri "The Wrestler" Bokh returns to the Primal cage for his first title defence against the impressive submission specialist Alec "Jonboy" Johnson.

'The Wrestler' Bokh, the undefeated national wrestling champion in his native home of Mongolia has utilised his skill set to demonstrate a destructive clinch game in his first 7 career fights, locking up with his opponents like a vice grip and rendering them useless with his sheer power and dirty boxing ability. In his last fight, Bokh proved he had the cardio to push the pace in a fight, when he dispatched of the impressive JoJo Monsoon in the third round, the first time he has ever left the first round in a fight.

Don't expect too much of a deviation in gameplan when Bokh enters the cage on Saturday night, however if his opponent manages to land the takedown, expect to see a new dimension to Bokh's game. Has he neglected his grappling roots, or will they re-awaken in this fight?

Alec Johnson is a New York native who has impressed early in his career, going 5-0 with all five wins coming by way of submission, with his two fights inside the Primal cage ending in the first round to capture his shot at the championship belt. There is no secret to the fact that Johnson does not want this fight to stay on the feet for too long, where he will inevitably be worn down by the dirty boxing and constant chasing of the takedown.

If this fight goes to the ground, the ball will entirely be in Johnsons court, his submission game and catch wrestling is slick and efficient, and all he needs is one sniff on the ground to really threaten any man inside the cage.

Co-Main Event

Obi Congo vs Karl Eriksson

Two goliath heavyweights come together for a showdown that isn't expected to last long. Both men are vicious inside the cage and will be gunning for the other man early. Both men are strikers by nature and we don't expect this fight to go to the ground at all.

Obi Congo started his career on a tear, starching his first 7 opponents while fighting on the Sydney MMA circuit, however in his eigth career fight, he was put down by Wiremu Williams and it seems his chin suffered, being put out in his Primal debut by top five heavyweight Shawn McLean.

The buzz around Congo was fever pitched when he signed with Primal, with a barrage of Sydney fight fans making the trip to New York to witness the popular Congo go down in 38 seconds. His legion of fans will no doubt be back again, this time though hoping to see him bounce back and get back on the winners list.

Karl Eriksson enters the Primal cage for the fourth time, coming off two knockout of the night performances in a row on the developmental Fight Night cards, he makes the jump back onto the big show in the co-main event on Saturday night. Eriksson will look to break that suspect chin of Congo, with a significant height advantage, the same head kick that floored Flori Nopolis looms as a big threat in this matchup.

A polished kickboxer, who hits like a truck, Eriksson will look to finish this one early, because the power of Congo will loom large in the background if he can't get the finish himself.

Primal 17 comes to the big smoke of New York city once again on Saturday night, with a fight card that could deliver anything, with a stack of developing stars, this one is a card that will help shed light on who the next fighters to take the step up will be.

Main Event

Darnell Whitaker vs Red Perkins

The main event sees two undefeated lightweight contenders clash in an interesting stylistic match up.

Whitaker comes into the fight riding a wave of momentum, going 3-0 at Primal already, with his last win coming over the highly impressive Bolek. The gritty ex-criminal with a thirst for combat, the big punching Whitaker will continue to press the pace in this fight with Perkins and look to aim himself toward the top 5 of the lightweight division and a possible title shot in the near future.

Perkins has been nothing short of destructive since joining the ranks at Primal, with two TKO wins inside the first 2 minutes on fight night cards. Perkins will be looking to make a statement with another violent stoppage against one of the top lightweights in Whitaker. Only time will tell if Perkins can make the step up in competition and hang with the best lightweights at 280k.

Preview brought to you by

SNAPNAPTAP

Coming to you live from the Hard Rocks Arena in New York City on Saturday April 9, Primal Combat brings you a stacked card for Primal 18, with two title fights anchored by a featured heavyweight undercard bout.

James Marley will be looking to rebound from his Primal 13 submission loss that cost him the company’s heavyweight championship. One of Primal’s early stars, you have to wonder if he’s capable of keeping up with the growth of the company — the heavyweight division is stacked, and the title picture is getting awfully crowded.

Marley still possesses the great equalizer — knockout power. He’s shown an ability to drop devastating ground and pound from top position, and knocked Coolio Duras out cold with one of the more violent uppercuts you’ll find in New York. That punch could be his key to victory.

“The Pagan Party Beast” Rocket Bob Frankles is one of the most hyped heavyweights in Primal, scoring two Knockout of the Night bonuses in two outings. He’s no stranger to the uppercut himself, putting on his best Rocky Marciano impression during his Primal 9 destruction of Marcus Wester.

Will Marley regain his footing in the division, or will the Rocket continue his ascension up the ladder?

***

In the co-main event, Rob Maldonado looks to claim the heavyweight championship he first had a shot at in the finals of the heavyweight grand prix at Primal 8, where he was quickly submitted by James Marley.

Yet another heavyweight that prefers to the uppercut, Maldonado has earned all three of his stoppage wins under the Primal banner by way of the punch. He does a great job of getting in close before creating the exact amount of distance needed to drop his shoulder and explode through the punch.

Using a “Sapp Rush” esque strategy, Maldonado is most dangerous in the early stages of the fight, with each of his three Primal wins coming in under three minutes. He’ll need to be completely focused on keeping this fight standing, as Marley showed the holes in Maldonado’s submission game.

Vincent “Jackhammer” Muji is the man that will be looking to find and exploit those holes. Debuting with a shot at the heavyweight title at Primal 13, Muji quickly put Marley on his back and cranked a kimura for the submission in under one minute of action.

He’s also shown very strong strikes from top position, finishing three fights with his ground and pound.

Muji has a tendency to shoot for doubles as early as 10 seconds into the fight. If he can bring Maldonado down, he stands a great chance at retaining his title.

***

In the main event, “The Red Typhoon” Ryosuke Sato defends his 205-pound title against Harrison Neeson in a battle of 4-0 light heavyweights. Neeson first burst on the scene at APEX TWO, rockingCorbin The Game in the first round before landing a disgusting one-two combo just five seconds into round 2 for the walk-off knockout.

In his title eliminator at Primal 13, Raistlin Lovelair was given the opportunity to learn firsthand that Neeson possessed an elite level killer instinct, eating a brutal three punch combo that finished the fight after being rocked by a counter uppercut he never saw coming.

Sato is virtually the same type of fighter, backing up a strong wrestling base with crisp, powerful hands. Coming from the famed Legion of Doom alliance and training out of the esteemed Brooklyn Boxing Club, Sato’s support system just may be enough to give him the slight edge.
