Me and the wife are going to Vegas again next month, has anyone done the Counts Kustoms tours? I really like the TV show, but since you can tour the shop for free, just would like to know if it is worth it to pay for the tour of all the places.

Anyone with other good places to check out please post on here, we went last year while I was still really sick so I had to take it easy and not do a lot, now that I am better than ever I want to have a GOOD time!

Thanks for any info, I figure someone on here has to know some fun places to go.

Well what places did you go last time you were out here??

I haven't done the Count's Kustoms or the Pawn Stars shop, but I have heard the Pawn Stars is a little overrated for a few reasons. I guess the cast is only ever there during filming (which makes sense), but depending on the day you go you could wait 1-2 hours just to get inside the shop.

I went to Vegas last year with my gf for UFC 187. I didn't do that tour though, I did more the cliche things, visit numerous casinos, saw cirque du soleil then went out to a club and there was some midget show on lol. The roller coaster in the NYNY was pretty fun as well. Pretty sure I told you this all before actually lol.

I am going again in July for UFC 200 with some mates this time so we are thinking of doing some out of the ordinary things but I seem to remember you being a bit older than me plus you're going with your wife so not sure our interests will be in the same place haha. Apart from UFC 200 and the obvious drinking/casinos we are deciding between (maybe):

Adventure Combat Ops

Countdown Live escape games

or maybe just a gun range - i saw one called Bullets and Burgers - can't get much more american than that lol.

I only have 3 days so not a whole lot of time. What hotel are you staying in? Any recommendations? I stayed at Luxor the first time.

Vegas is the shit!

Escape Rooms are fun. Just did one after New Year and must say they are really interesting to do.

We are staying at The Excalibur again. I liked it the rooms were nothing fancy but the casino was nice, plus it is cheap. We watched the Tournament of Kings there last time, it was fun and had front row seats plus some hot girls dancing during the show, we also went and seen the show Sexxy at Luxor it was good, the girls were hot and topless! If you stay there think about checking it out, not like a strip club, you don't tip them or anything just regular show seating. We also went to a gun range, I think it was even called that "The Gun Range" they had a black Ops package I shot a SAW, an automatic M4, and automatic MP5, and a Glock 19. That was a lot of fun, but I am a gun guy. That is about all we did last time, besides hit some casinos and eat at different places, they got a really good sushi place right outside of Sexxy, and we ate at Gordan Ramsey Steak at the Paris it was AWESOME but very expensive after the tip was $415 for 2 dinners 2 glasses of win and the tip, but for a once in a lifetime meal it was fun and our 20th wedding anniversary.

We are older 41 and 40 but like to have fun, I am going to check out Fremont street this time and do the zip line down it. Hit some bars this time, I don't watch the Pawn Stars show so not hitting that, but I really like Counting cars so deciding between going and taking the tour. Probably do another show like Sexxy. Other than that I am hoping for suggestions, hoping someone knows something fun to do or someplace fun to go.

I have a guy I graduated with that is a DJ at a strip club out there, so I may look him up, he probably has some ideas! I think he works at Chaeta's but haven't talked to him in a couple years so not sure.

Sounds like you do like to have fun indeed! I was looking at tournament of kings for a laugh. I think I saw it in the movie Cable Guy haha. I like the sound of Sexxy as well sounds like a good start to the night. I've heard a lot about Fremont street as well so will need to check that out.

One of my friends found a pretty cool flat we are gonna stay at near MGM but I tried to convince them that if we stay in Vegas we should stay in a hotel on the strip (Excalibur was one of the options), it was a good price though for this flat so thought I may as well just let it happen.

Also, have you been to Hooter's before? I ask cos its so well known but someone told me its over hyped...

Post here after your trip with any more recommendations!

The Hooter's casino isn't worth it. It's not like the food chains where the women have tight shirts and orange booty shorts. Parts of it have that, but not what you would expect. Plus, why would you go there instead of any of the Vegas shows that show prettier women and more skin.

As far as other places to go, Fremont is always a must. Plenty of things to do down there, especially at night with the light shows. Restaurant called Heart Attack Grill (no joke) is somewhere around Fremont. There is a place called the Container Park, which is exactly what it sounds like, very close to Fremont that has smaller dining places as well as shops, kind of a local's secret (Dana White is known to frequent there).

Other things to possibly do.........

  • Dream Racing Experience: Way off The Strip, but a chance to drive a Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mclaren, etc on an actual race track.
  • Grand Canyon Helicopter Tour
  • Siegfried & Roy's Secret Graden
  • CSI: The Experience
  • Anything at the top of the Stratosphere (if you feel ballsy enough)
  • Vegas Fight Tours: For your inner MMA fan, a tour that takes you to some of the local MMA gyms

Not sure if what you had looked at for Count's Kustoms was this, but if not maybe this a little more bang for your buck.

I was in Vegas last June and I agree, Fremont is a must especially if it's a Friday or Saturday night. We hit Fremont on our first night and it's the perfect way to get you primed for the rest of your time in Vegas because of the energy and good vibes it gives off. I went to Vegas not really sure what to expect but as soon as I saw Fremont it instantly put in in a "oh hell yeah let's get fucked up!!!" kind of mood that lasted the whole week haha! It was awesome.

Unfortunaty not a lot of events were going on at the time so we just did the usual touristy stuff like a couple cirque shows and the roller coaster. The rest of the time was just spent sight seeing and drinking, but we had a blast.

Deuce, I had a friend tell me about Heart Attack Grill, sounds like a fun place to eat, we looked at the website and are thinking we may eat there when we go to Fremont, I have also been thinking about the driving experience, that would be fun but looks expensive.

Davy, were the cirque shows you seen any good? We have talked about going to see one of them or Rock of Ages.

For some reason my computer won't let me quote.

rdaly, I have never been to Hooters casino. Sexxy is worth checking out, they have a singer that is really good and had a comedian that was funny, plus the women dancing. They actually dance and do a show not just come out and get topless, not that I would complain about that either! If your flat is by MGM grand that is not far from the strip, MGM Grand is across from Excalibur so sounds like you will be close.

One thing we did last time that we are not this time is renting a car. We had no idea were to go in at any of the casino's or shows we went to so after parking in the wrong spot at the first casino we started using valet parking everywhere we went, once we tipped them we could have paid for a cab.

Joe if you don't want to pay for a Cab they have a bus pass you can get for all day or three days I believe and it goes every where. When me and Michelle went we walked most of the time but did get the bus pass. Fremont is a must. We said if we go back we would stay on Fremont as it was so much more fun plus easier to get drinks faster.

There are actually a few driving experiences, they run anywhere from $70-$120. The only big issue would be getting out to the race track which is about 45mins away from the Strip

As far as cirque shows, I've heard Zumanity, Michael Jackson's ONE and The Beatles' LOVE are the tops right now.

The two shows we saw were Beatles Love and KA, they were both awesome. You don't necessarily have to be a big fan of the Beatles to enjoy the show but it helps if you at least enjoy thier music (I've never owned any Beatles albums but appreciate what they've done) there are a lot of acrobatics going on that make it amazing. KA was great because most of the acrobatics are capoeira & martial arts based. Plus there is a huge apparatus they dub "the wheel of death" that is pretty amazing.

It would be hard to pick one over the other, I really enjoyed them both but they are very different from one another. It kind of depends who your rolling with. If your going with a bunch of dudes then I'd say KA might go over better but if it's a mixed crew then maybe Love. My wife really liked both of them too so its not like one is better for men and one for women necessarily.

We stayed in a time share resort off the strip (Tahiti village) but there was a free shuttle once every hour so it was fairly easy to get back and forth. We usually stayed out past the last shuttle so would have to split a cab back. It was a bit of an inconvenience especially since I always seemed to want to stay out a lot later than everyone else in my group of 8 so it would have been nice to stay right on the strip so I could have went on some of my own "adventures" ;) (as much as I could get away with being with the wife and all)

I saw the zarkana show but it was my 2nd time seeing a Cirque show in about 2 years and I know its amazing what they do but it starts gettin a little old when you've seen it before so IF you've seen cirque before I probably wouldn't bother going again. I was looking at shows to see yesterday and I definitely want to see Rock Of Ages. I love the songs they do in that show.

We have never been to a cirque show so we may look at one of them. Lucky I don't have to worry about going on my own adventures my wife is just like hanging out with one to the guys, only she is prettier with bigger boobs. She even baits her own hook and takes her own fish off the line, I cant even get Mike Thomas to do that!

We are not big gamblers we will a little but we go to more shows and see things, and just have fun, losing money is not fun to me, I would rather drink it, eat it, or see something with it. One of the most fun things we did last time was setting on the strip watching people while we drank, this time we are going over spring break so that could get interesting!

My wife can hold her own when it comes to drinking and having fun, its the partying until the light of dawn part that she has a problem with haha! I'm not usually into all nighters like that but I figured I wouldnt get many opportunities to go party in Vegas so I just wanted to soak up as much of the night life as I could.

I had the name of the show we went to last year wrong, we seen Fantasy not Sexxy, Sexxy is one of them we are looking at going to this year. I got them mixed up, but Fantasy at the Luxor was very good.

On a side note, I live north of Kansas City the wife and I went there this weekend for a marriage retreat for parents of kids with Down Syndrome, the World of Wheels car show was there to. Danny from Counts Kustoms was there with his band putting on a show Saturday night, they were in the same hotel as us and I went to the bar and they were all there. Was freaking awesome, he was a great guy, I sat with them and we closed the bar, he kept buying rounds and just talking to all of us. He even gave us his managers contact info to send him an invite to our Down Syndrome walk this year, said he would try to make it. After getting a chance to hang out with him for a few hours I am for sure going to check out his shop and do the whole tour while we are in Vegas, he said they do a party on Tuesday night when his show airs and they are all at his resturant watching it and partying, so I am going that day for sure, hope we get a chance to party together again. I dont know how to post pics on here, other than my fighter pics, but I got a cool one on facebook of us, I will try and figure it out!

Funny thing is, my wife was passed out in our room and missed it all! A friend of ours was already there and texted us, she didnt want to get up, so I left her passed out in the room and went to the bar!

Currently deciding between a few hotels, gonna book today -Excalibur, NYNY, Wyndham or the Luxor.. It's tempting to go back to the Luxor, I mean c'mon...

I never stayed at Luxor, but the casino and everything else is nice, dont know about the rooms. Excalibur was nice, rooms were not fancy or anything but they were comfortable, not like you are in the room much anyway, that is why we are staying there again. Plus they have the bridge going to Luxor so easy to get to either one from the other, I am not sure about the Wyndham never went there.

Thanks for the tip on posting pics. I will do it when I get home from work tonight!
