"The Hurricane" Clinton Hall (6-2):

"Two in a row against two young prospects. I was surprised that Monday Blues can't do anything meaningful against me, I think I was too fast for him. Am I getting closer to Andre Hendrix? Actually I can imagine myself prodding his back and be like 'Dude, give me what's mine. '. He doesn't deserve to sit on my throne because a true champ didn't get KTFO'd by a pillowfist like Tom Thomas. I am on my way to my post-fight party, hey Andre and Tom I am inviting you to come, I will pour all the Tequila down your throat then you both may find yourselves. "

DFC Las Vegas 45 Preview

newdfc.gif

Welcome DFC fans around the world I am the man who needs no introduction. My resume and accomplishments speak for me. Things have been a little dull and mundane around here so I figured let's stir up the pot and set this baby to high heat. Each week I’m going to be running down the upcoming card giving my insight as a fighter and making my predictions. However, let me point it out before any of you people decide to open a lawsuit against me in the off chance I am wrong and you lose your money on a bet in Vegas I am not legally responsible for any gambling debts or losses that may occur as these are just my own humble opinions. So enough small talk let me get started with DFC Las Vegas 45 coming live to us from the dingy confines of the Hard Knocks Las Vegas on January 6th.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fight 1: Erdesktrok versus Emelianenko

First fight of the night we have Erdesktrok versus Emelianenko in a heavyweight clash. We have two big young guys putting their undefeated record on the line for a chance to move up in the rankings and to establish themselves as an up and coming title challenger. Erdesktrok likes to utilize his muay thai training in with a little old fashioned jiu jitsu if the fight makes its way to the ground. His last fight ended at the tail end of the first round where he clinched and cut his opponent with devastating shots multiple time before getting the stoppage.

Emelianenko however is the better boxer in my opinion. Even though he might have the better skill as far as a standup game if this fight does go to the ground he is going to be up the creek without a paddle. The hard hitting Russian only needed a little over a minute in his debut though to cut open his opponent and get the stoppage.

My Prediction. Erdesktrok will win by 2nd round TKO.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fight 2: Hawk versus Maher

In a featherweight fight between a man in his debut versus a veteran of the cage. Hawk comes in with very high expectations in his debut. On paper these two despite amount of fights under Maher's belt they are virtually identical from what we can see skill wise. Hawk's coaches have report his boxing is better and his wrestling in far more superior than Maher's.

Maher is on his now fourth fights in DFC and has yet to find a way to win the fight. His record is two and seven as a professional both in his time here and in AFC. Will Maher let experience guide him back to victory or is he going to be used as a tune up for an up and coming Hawk?

My Prediction: Hawk wins in his debut via 1st round submission.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fight 3: Van Gaal versus Lang

The lightweight division in DFC has always been an interesting one and with the acquisition of Van Gaal a skilled veteran things might be shaken up a bit more. Van Gaal is on his fourth organization and is looking for a permanent home. He comes into this fight 5 and 2 with one of the most prolific and well-rounded skill sets we have seen.

Lang is no fly by night fighter as well with a very impressive 7 and 1 record. His only loss was a unanimous decision whereas most people who say never to leave it in the hands of the judges. Lang is more known for his Muay Thai skills and being able to end fights early and often.

My Prediction: Lang by unanimous decision.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fight 4: Nooles versus Lo

We bring to you a the first of five featherweight fights on the card. This one between two fighters trying to gain hold in their division. Nooles comes into the fight at 1 and 2 with his last fight being a win via a beautiful superman punch that landed him knockout of the night honors at Mayhem 21. Nooles is hoping he found his boxing chops in his last fight and could ride that high of emotion back into the win column to even out his record.

Lo had success very early in his career starting off at an undefeated 3 and 0. We are not sure what happened, but he is currently on a 2 fight losing streak recently against top contender Stefan Struwe. Lo has all of the tools to be a threat in the division he just needs to get back to the dance that brought him that success in the first place.

My Prediction: Lo by 3rd round TKO.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fight 5: Jones versus Steele

The Muay Thai guy versus the boxer in a battle of which discipline will prevail. Jones a winner of a knockout of the night award is looking to redeem himself after being choked out in his last fight which ended rather abruptly. Jones welcomes a slugfest though and has some of the division's heaviest of hands.

Steele come in at 3 and 3 as a DFC veteran. His last fight he was on the receiving end of the superman punch that gave Nooles the knockout of the night honor. Some called the punch well timed, but Steele's coach called it a fluke shot that will not happen again. That was the boxer's only loss due to strikes as Steele does possess some high level boxing skills.

My Prediction: History may repeat itself...Jones wins via knockout 1st round earning Knockout Of The Night award for the second time.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fight 6: Murphy versus Power

A classic match between the standup style fighter versus a scrappy ground savvy fighter. The Irish born Murphy hit a bit of a skid with 2 consecutive tko losses ending in very early in the first round. Some have said his chin has given out on him make it a very easy target. Critics will say the level of competition between QFC and DFC is like stepping up from amateur to professional. In QFC Murphy was a hot prospect winning fights in various ways.

Power is going into the 8th fight of his career and thus far is ahead in the win column. He is a submission specialist who lost via decision 2 out of 3 times. Known for his armbar and rear naked choke submissions he will be looking to drag Murphy down to the ground early and end things very quickly.

My Prediction: Power wins by 1st round submission.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fight 7: McGinnis versus Xhaka

Who wants to see a fight where I can guarantee will either be very punch heavy or one guy is going to get knocked out with one of the hardest hits of all time? This fight right here may stack up to be the fight of the night. McGinnis is an undefeated 4 and 0 and looking to knockout top contender Xhaka early and stake his claim for a future title shot. Who is to stop "The Touch Of Death" honestly? Nobody's chin has so far withstood the heavy handed fighter from Wales

Xhaka is a fan favorite known for being the man who once took 134 head shots and 73 body shots from former featherweight champion Tomas Lindberg. Xhaka always seems to find his way to the prize, but can never grab the carrot when it dangles in front of him. His last fight her lost to DFC veteran Benjamin Tay. We all know Xhaka is as tough as they come, but sometimes that heart and chin have to give up.

My prediction: McGinnis wins by 3rd round TKO.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fight 8: Lijikiszcz versys Belval

We leave the featherweight division and go down to bantamweight for our next fight. It puts Brazilian Jiu Jitsu brown belt Lijikiszcz against knockout artist Belval. Lijikiszcz will be looking to utilize his superior wrestling skill to take down Belval early and often in hopes of coming out with another submission victory and put his record to 7 and 2. With a win here Lijikiszcz could possibly put in a very good bid to have a title fight. After all, he is the former AFC champion and no stranger to gold.

Belval is the French fist of destruction. He is fresh off a loss in a rubber match against Lichfield that ended in submission. His only other defeat was against then champion Fitzpatrick also by submission. Belval has to utilize his boxing skills and end this fight early avoiding the takedown at any and all costs. As proven in the past if Belval cannot connect with an early knockout against a submission fighter it is going to end very badly for him.

My Prediction: Lijikiszcz wins by 2nd round submission

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fight 9 Co-Main Event Featherweight Title Fight: Vargas versus Clark

In the mma world an immediate rematch for a former champion is very seldom as most fans would rather move on and see something fresh, but not in this case. Vargas held the title when he unified the interim belt against Xhaka only to lose it in his next fight against Clark that ended in a controversial decision. Vargas pleaded with fans and the DFC to give him the chance to prove that the judges got it wrong and that he will will avenge his loss via knockout.

Clark is the reigning and defending champion with an impressive veteran record of 8 and 3. Clark's fights always seem to end his wins one of two ways either by decision or by a flurry of first round strikes. Can this be the win that Clark needs though to cement his DFC legacy and prove to the world that he is a featherweight legend in the making?

My Prediction: And still Feathweight Champion Anthony Clark via unanimous decision

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fight 10 Main Event: Von Lotusflower versus Getstoned

Seldom do we see a fight so hyped and wanted by the fans that is not a title match without an immediate drastic effect grab the headlines and cause as much buzz as this fight. The Canadian Von Lotusflower is looking to end the hype by doing what he has been known to do best and that is hit hard, hit often, and hit his opponent until the referee is forced to call for the stoppage. Since switching managers Victor is 2 and 0 and looking to make a run a very talented lightweight division. Victor considers Getstoned a hype train that must be stopped at the very next station and plans to derail it abruptly.

Getstoned is one the most recognizable names on the DFC roster. A name that demands respect as he is a former Tycoon World Grappling champion in the Featherweight division plus a TWGC World Champion and let's not forget his 7 and 2 record is not too bad either. He is coming off a loss to then champion Gil Jacobson, but be that as it is with a win here we could be looking at the number one contender again. He is a man who has never seen a second round which also adds in to more of the legacy of the man.

My Prediction: Getstoned wins via 1st round submission

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That is all everyone hope you enjoyed the preview and once again the point of view and predictions are solely my interpretation of how I feel the fights will result.

DFC Las Vegas 46 (876602)

On: January 13, 2017

At: Hard Knocks - Las Vegas

In association with: THE END 32

Foreword:

Before I got into breaking down the fights on this event I thought I would quickly introduce myself. I started building my own stable of fighters in August of 2016, so I am a very new to MMA Tycoon. I have a lot to learn, but hope that I can help DFC build upon the success that is has already enjoyed. If anyone has any questions, comments, or concerns for me feel free to send me a message. To keep this short and sweet I just wanted to express my gratitude for the opportunity. Thanks for having me good people!

Gustav Gustavsson vs Franco Micheli - 155 lbs

Kicking things off is a fight in the 155 lb division between Gustav "Big Gus" Gustavsson and Franco Micheli. Big Gus has a KT record of 1-3. He started training at 18 under Crissy Teranova. For reasons unknown he was released. Now at 20 years old he has teamed up with a new manager "Dirty" Dutch Quinn, and signed with DFC Las Vegas to try his hand at the MMA game. His opponent is an Argentinian wrestler by the name of Franco Micheli. His past is not unlike Gustavsson's. Micheli had one fight, which he lost, under a previous manager, and was released. Joining Jay Van Clief out of free agency he hopes to benefit from a more professional outfit.

Prediction: Gustavsson by unanimous decision.

Glenn Williamson vs Manny Pacquiao - 170 lbs

Glenn Williamson is a brown belt submission fighter with above average boxing. He is trying to get back up to a .500 win percentage against Manny Pacquiao, but as of now he is at 3-4 with 3 Submissions. Winning only 1 of his last 5 fights he is desperate for a win here. Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao, whose name seems suspiciously familiar to me for some odd reason, has a record of 5-4 with 3 KOs. He will bring wonderful Muy Thai, proficient wrestling, and a blue belt with him to the cage. This will be Pacman's debut with DFC, and first fight under the guidance of Keelan Dolan.

Prediction: Williams Submission (Arm Triangle) round 2.

Joseph Duffy vs Carl Sands - 265 lbs

Joseph Duffy is a strong boxer with a record of 5-3 with 2 Submissions. Since signing with DFC he has struggled a bit only winning 1 of 3 fights with the organization. At 27 years old it's time to start making a move. Carl "The Hour Glass" Sands has this fight envisioned differently. The Chicago native has a record of 3-1 with 2 Submissions at only 20 years of age. He started his career with Dissolution, and although his primary skill is boxing, he has managed to win his last two fights by submissions. On paper this is a very even matchup. It could turn out to be a back and forth struggle.

Prediction: Sands TKO (Strikes) round 1.

Sao Galileo vs David Cormier - 205 lbs

Sao Galileo is a Somoan Muy Thai practitioner who has spent a lot of his time recently working on his wrestling. He is 2-0 with 1 KO. Making his debut with DFC this young man has shown in his only 2 fights that he has some heavy hands. David Cormier will be looking to bring Galileo back down to earth. This 21 year old has a great wrestling game, complimented by good kicks, and a blue belt in BJJ. At this point in his career he is 0-2, losing both his fights with DFC. I spoke briefly with manager Mega Jug, and he told me they were spending a great deal of time at IMMA Gym of Elite ASS, tweaking their tactics and strategy for this fight.

Prediction: Cormier TKO (Strikes) round 2.

Boris Klein vs Ricky Davis - 205 lbs

Boris Klein is a 27 year old out of Belize. I've heard rumors that he developed his boxing skill prize fighting in underground circuits in Mexico and Guatemala, countries that border Belize. Klein has spent his entire career with Dissolution, going 3-2 with 2 KOs in MMA, and 0-1 in his only KT fight. He won the Heavyweight title at DFC Sin City 3, but failed to defend it against Jim Lahey at Mayhem 8, which the two fighters headlined. Opposite Klein in the cage will be Ricky Davis, a well rounded American with respectable wrestling. Davis is at 5-5 with 2 KOs, and 3 Submissions, showing that he can win fights in a variety of ways, but that he can lose them in various ways as well. Davis fell out with his previous manager, and will be making his DFC debut while taking advice from new manager Jay Van Clief.

Prediction: Davis Submission (Armbar) round 1.

Wally Hewitt vs Ryan Hall - 185 lbs

Wally Hewitt is a brown belt submission fighter who seems to have a great deal of potential. He has a professional mixed martial arts record of 4-2 with 4 Submissions. Fighting under his third manager, and in his third organization, Hewitt is hoping to start honing in on some other skills to compliment that brown belt. Ryan Hall broke his maiden with the Trinity organization. He then signed with DFC, and has went 1-1 moving him to 2-1 in professional mma. This young man at 21 years of age has a nice skill set, and if he can sprawl and brawl, he should be able to put Hewitt in the hurt locker. Can Hall get back on track after losing to Khalid Mamedov at DFC LV SOT 2?

Prediction: Hall KO (Head Kick) round 2.

Khalid Mamedov vs BJ Penn - 185 lbs

Khalid Mamedov lost his first two professional fights perhaps biting off more than he could chew a bit faster than he should have. He then joined DFC, and has went 3-1 with 1 KO and 1 Submission. This Polish fighter looks impressive with a brown belt in BJJ, and sensational boxing skills. Winning his last two contests, I'm certain this young man wants to ride his current momentum as far is it will take him. BJ Penn with a record of 8-3, will be giving it all he has to derail Mamedov. Penn boasts of never being submitted, and will come to this event to make his debut with DFC. At 27 years old and with 11 professional fights to his credit he has the advantage in cage experience.

Prediction: Mamedov Submission (RNC) round 1.

Mark Marx Jr vs Kyrie Irving - 170 lbs

Mark Marx Jr is a submission artist primarily, but he has obviously been making strides in his stand up game as he attested to with a first round TKO (Strikes) over Glenn Williamson at DFC LV SOT 3. He has spent his entire career with DFC, and stands at 3-1 with 1 KO and 2 Submissions. He will be facing Kyrie Irving, a Filipino Muy Thai striker from the Big Apple. Ankle Drew, as his friends and family call him, is 3-1 with 3 KOs. He is likable young man who claims to be the "people's champ." I figured you had to be champ first, but hey, what do I know? All jokes aside, he comes into this event under his new manager Randy Randleman, with a chip on his shoulder, after being released by previous manager Mad Man.

Prediction: Marx Jr Submission (Armbar) round 1.

Tom Thomas vs Johnny Jacobi - 135 lbs

Tom Thomas is rumored to have had an undefeated run of over 100 amateur boxing matches. This 20 year old from Seattle, has taken that profound understanding of the sweet science, and utilized it very well in the mma world. He tested the waters with a QFC at 18 years of age, and immediately signed a contract with DFC. Currently his mma record is 6-1 with 5 KOs. He lost his last fight against Andre Hendrix at DFC LV MAYHEM 21, for the vacant Bantamweight title. Having beat Andre in the fight just before that the loss is not sitting well with him. Johnny Jacobi is 4-2 with 4 Submissions. He told me he repsects Thomas immensely, but feels a win here could catapult him up the ranks, and closer to his goal of title contention. Jacobi is coming off a loss as well, and the question will be who can rise in the face of adversity.

Prediction: Thomas KO (Punches) round 1.

Samwell Lance vs Amadeus Mozart - 185 lbs

Samwell Lance is ranked 22 in the DFC organization. This Texan is 10-2 with 10 KOs. He lost his last fight which was a title shot. I had a chance to chat with him at Gym of the Gods where he assured me he was prepared to waltz all over his next opponent, Amadeus Mozart. Mozart is a well rounded 19 year old with a record of 5-1 with 1 KO and 4 Submissions. He is on a 4 fight win streak, and a never ending bad hair day. Lance is one of the most well liked fighters in the DFC and brings that "Don't Mess With Texas" attitude with him at all times, but my gut feeling here is an upset victory for Rock Me Amadeus...oh oh oh Amadeus.

Prediction: Mozart Submission (Armbar) round 1.

Hi, if you want a logo update, or simply the assets I used to create them - ask away at: gabriel.t.s.gardner@gmail.com
While I don't plan on being active on the game again (getting a job has sorta limited the free time I had when I played the game) Creating or updating the logos would be no trouble.

- the font used for the 'DFC' Initials is called 'Ancient God' and was a spare font I had lying around after doing client work for a murder mystery games website. funny how the world works...

Anyway, just checked in on how things were going and I am delighted to see how well JVC has been managing things - really taking this place to new heights.

Best of luck

Gabe

Thank you so much Gabe and glad to hear you are doing well. You are always welcome here as a founding father to the org. You put in so much work and effort in DFC LV that this will always be your home if you ever decide you want to return even on a part time basis. I was trying to fight the font you used, but I could not come up with it so thanks you for sparing me some extra hours of digging through all the free font sites around the globe my friend :). I will definitely be holding on to your email and check in with you not just for tycoon reason, but just in general. I wish you the best and keep grinding my brother.

DFC Las Vegas 46 (876602) Event Results and Review

Introduction:

Dissolution Fighting Championships, together with THE END 32, put together another great event in Las Vegas. The event took place at the Hard Knocks arena, and although it wasn't a sell out crowd it was definitely an entertaining experience. Only one fight out of the ten scheduled required the judges to declare a winner. Altogether four fights made it passed the first round, and the crowd sure pushed the decibels up with each and every fight. It was another incredible episode from DFC Las Vegas that I was glad to have witnessed.

Gustav Gustavsson vs Franco Micheli - 155 lbs

In the first fight of the night we had a stand up battle with Gustavsson and Micheli. Immediately Micheli took the fight to the clinch. From there it started slowly with both fighters battling for position, and struggling to connect with any meaningful strikes. After a failed takedown attempt from Micheli the fighters wound up back to striking at range. Then, about a minute into the contest, Gustavsson countered a leg kick from Micheli, and cut him in the process. After being cut Micheli clinched with Gustavsson again, and found himself hurt bad after a left hand connected clean. Not long after that, Gustavsson capitalized with a big uppercut from the clinch that dropped Micheli. Gustavsson forced the ref into action with more unaswered strikes. Good KO victory for Gustavsson.

Prediction: Gustavsson by unanimous decision.

Result: Gustavsson TKO (Strikes) 1:43 of round 1.

Glenn Williamson vs Manny Pacquiao - 170 lbs

This one was all Pacquiao. At the opening bell he came out swinging and connecting with precision. Williamson tried to go for a few takedowns as a defense mechanism, but he would never land one. Seconds into the fight Pacquiao landed a nice combo that rocked Williamson. Williamson kept trying for more takedowns out of instict having that brown belt jiu-jitsu base. This only allowed the Muy Thai striker to counter with hard, effective strikes. Less than a minute in, Pacquiao connected with a nice cross, and knew he had Williamson stunned. He immediately rushed in with two hardcore shots that put Williamson to sleep. Good night Irene!

Prediction: Williams Submission (Arm Triangle) round 2.

Result: Pacquiao KO (Punches) 0:47 of round 1.

Joseph Duffy vs Carl Sands - 265 lbs

On paper this fight seemed like a very even matchup. In the cage, for whatever reason, things played out a little differently. Starting out these two solid boxers with blue belts came out swinging. Sands was more accurate, and it seemed as if Duffy was uncomfortable with stand up. Just about a minute into the first Sands dropped Duffy with a nice shot then jumped into his guard. From there Sands grounded and pounded out a first round domination. In the second round Sands caught Duffy again and knocked him down. Sands jumped into Duffy's guard yet again, but this time Sands competely shut him out before eventually landing a big left hand that rang his bell. On this night it was Carl "The Hour Glass" Sands' time.

Prediction: Sands TKO (Strikes) round 1.

Result: Sands TKO (Strikes) 0:57 of round 2.

Sao Galileo vs David Cormier - 205 lbs

This was a good fight that went back and forth. Starting out these two came out punching and kicking. After a brief feeling out period Cormier started connecting at a good clip and managed to take the first round. The second round was similar, but this time it appeared that Galileo had Cormier's timing down, and countered with some good hard shots that took a lot out of him. The second was a close one but Galileo most likely took it on at least 2 of the 3 cards. In the third round of a good little tussle the two again came out banging. Just about two minutes in, knowing that Cormier was gassing out and he most likely needed a finish, it appeared that Galileo stepped it up. He landed a beauty of a counter uppercut that rocked Cormier. As he had done the entire fight Cormier tried to take away Galileo's mobility with a leg kick which whiffed, and subsequently enabled a counter right that knocked him out cold.

Prediction: Cormier TKO (Strikes) round 2.

Result: Galileo KO (Punch) 2:10 of round 3.

Boris Klein vs Ricky Davis - 205 lbs

Klein came out at the opening bell, and clinched with Davis. In the clinch Klein did good work. He landed hard shots that hurt Davis. Just seconds into this fight he landed a hook that gashed Davis. The first two minutes or so were fought almost entirely in the clinch with Klein clearly winning. Then, for whatever reason, just after two minutes into the round Klein decided to pull guard on a clearly superior BJJ fighter. This was catastrophic. Davis, already in a dominant position, just postured up and pounded on Klein, softening him up, on the way to the inevitable submission by arm triangle to put this one in the books. A nice come from behind win from Davis.

Prediction: Davis Submission (Armbar) round 1.

Result: Davis Submission (Arm Triangle) 3:26 of round 1.

Wally Hewitt vs Ryan Hall - 185 lbs

Hewitt came out as the obvious agressor here, but Hall's patience would bring about his demise. Hall landed a series of crisp jabs early. Hewitt was in trouble almost immediately, and the ref was watching closely. Hewitt tried a takedown, but Hall sprawled nicely. Hall then had Hewitt pressed up against the cage unloading on him. Trying to roll with the punches Hewitt only managed to duck into an uppercut and get rocked. With Hewitt hurt bad and on spaghetti legs, Hall landed three hard shots to end it. A chopping leg kick, a straight right, and an overhand right was all she wrote for Hewitt. Nice standup displayed by Hall.

Prediction: Hall KO (Head Kick) round 2.

Result: Hall KO (Punch) 0:48 of round 1.

Khalid Mamedov vs BJ Penn - 185 lbs

Mamedov dominated this fight despite being 6 years younger than Penn. Penn wanted to clinch straight away, but got swatted away by Mamedov. From there Mamedov jabbed and cut Penn. Penn was more aggressive but got peppered by Mamedov's world class boxing. Penn was rocked by a shot to the eye socket just seconds in, but did show good heart by recovering quickly. Penn landed one shot in the fight, a decent uppercut, but right after Mamedov retaliated with his own uppercut which dropped him. Mamedov immediately pounced, and pummeled Penn with more strikes to bring the ref into action. On a three fight win streak the 21 year old appears to have found his recipe for success.

Prediction: Mamedov Submission (RNC) round 1.

Result: Mamedov TKO (Strikes) 0:56 of round 1.

Mark Marx Jr vs Kyrie Irving - 170 lbs

This fight was the only decision of the night. These guys put on a show, though. In the first round which was the closest of the three they both cut each other, but Marx Jr won it in the clinch. The second round was fought entirely in the clinch and Marx dominated it, overpowering Irving, and scoring more effectively. In the third Marx Jr landed a takedown, and I guess didn't like how it felt, so he stood back up. The he went back to the clinch, and did what he had done the previous two rounds. He even managed to hurt Irving near the end of the fight with some nice short punches inside just to add insult to injury. Marx Jr who has a brown belt in BJJ won this fight with striking, showing he is definitely making strides in his stand up game.

Prediction: Marx Jr Submission (Armbar) round 1.

Result: Marx Jr unanimous decision.

Tom Thomas vs Johnny Jacobi - 135 lbs

Thomas looked like Tyson in the 80s in this one. Not long after the bell rang Thomas landed a three punch combo that cut Jacobi. Thomas kept Jacobi on his heels the rest of the fight. Landing power punches and jabs that were just as powerful. Jacobi tried a hail mary takedown which drew a counter right from Thomas that sent him reeling. He managed to get up looking winded and wobbly. Jacobi, out of desperation, charged at Thomas, and in something I have never seen in my short time here, walked straight into a jab that knocked him out cold. Thomas can put some serious mustard on his punches!

Prediction: Thomas KO (Punches) round 1.

Result: Thomas KO (Punch) 0:43 of round 1.

KO of the Night Award

Samwell Lance vs Amadeus Mozart - 185 lbs

In the main event of the evening Samwell Lance at 10-2 took on a 19 year old Amadeus Mozart with half his cage experience at 5-1. In the first round the fighters went tit for tat. Both fighters landing and receiving shots in the stand up battle. It was a solid two minutes of that before Lance took things into the clinch. In the clinch Lance landed some hard shots, but Mozart eventually pulled guard. Mozart spammed every sub attempt he could drum up in the last few minutes of the round. The announcers seemed to think Lance won the first. In the second round Lance clinched up after a few exchanges. In the clinch he seemed to be the more effective fighter, and actually the announcers seemed to think he was completely dominating the fight. Closing in on two minutes into the second round Mozart pulled guard again. This time Lance, while trying to just control the position, got caught slipping. Mozart isolated an arm, and dialed up a triangle. He cranked on it, and drew the tap. At only 19, Mozart is coming into his own, and seems to have a high fight IQ.

Prediction: Mozart Submission (Armbar) round 1.

Result: Mozart Submission (Triangle) 2:37 of round 2.

Sub of the Night Award

Fight of the Night Award

Conclusion:

Dissolution Fighting Championships Las Vegas is doing great work. This event was a success, but owner Jay Van Clief says there is always room for improvement. With this mentality each upcoming event is better than the last. The 290k+ ID restricted organization is always looking for new talent. They always offer fair fights by skill, age, and p4p. DFC Las Vegas also offers a 300k+ 18 year old only KT division. Next up will be DFC Las Vegas 47 on January 20, 2017 at Hard Knocks. Be sure to stay tuned for that event where Larry Shreve Jr will put his 265 lb belt on the line against Randy Springs! As always I would like to give thanks for your time. Until next time.

Gabe

Gabe, somebody nominated the SP version of the logo for Logo of the Year.

I've been playing around with the logo colors a bit. I value and respect all of your decision on this so please give feedback on which one you like the best.

If you have any other colors to mention that may look good also feel free to mention

They all look good! Personally I like the blue, then the red. I prefer them to the fire gif one.

Yes Jay Tycoon has good work, but he already made the MMA Gladiators logo with the fire behind it as well. I don't want DFC LV being compared to any other org or anyone saying we are copying so I cam up with our own. I went with the blue and added a smoke effect to it. I hope everyone likes it.

DFC Las Vegas 47 Event Review and Results

On January 20, 2017

At Hard Knocks - Las Vegas

Koh Ibu vs John Wayne Gracy - 155 lbs

In the first fight of the event we had two undefeated Lightweights. This fight would not last long. Gracy came out seemingly off balance allowing Ibu to counter effectively. Ibu landed a counter left that visibly shook Gracy. Then, only 18 seconds after the starting bell, Ibu connected with a good hard cross that stumbled Gracy. Ibu immediately rushed in and threw two more power punches that knocked Gracy completely out cold. Ibu made a statement here moving to 4-0 with a decisive first round KO.

Result: Ibu KO (Punches) 0:18 of round 1.

Yidel Ananth vs Rad Dood - 145 lbs

Ananth came to this event looking for his first professional victory. This was a fight that would go to the judges. Ananth came out in the first looking for any opportunity to take the fight to the clinch. He succeeded just under a minute into the fight, and slowly built up more and more momenutm. Dood seemed to be doing well striking at range, but Ananth's ability to clinch and keep Dood there would be the key. For three straight rounds Ananth outscored and overpowered Dood on the way to his first professional victory by a unanimous decision. Congrats Ananth!

Result: Ananth Unanimous Decision

Johnny Yocum vs Sam Keene - 135 lbs

Two guys here with records right around a .500 win percentage desperate to start putting marks in the W column. Yocum seemed like he was hungrier on this night. Keene went to what he knew, and what everyone in the arena expected. He tried every trick in the book to take Yocum off his feet. Yocum displayed a great deal of balance, and takedown defense, never letting Keene succeed. Keene managed to clinch up with Yocum, but after failing to pull guard Yocum found room to throw elbows. Yocum continued to maintain dominant position in the clinch, and bombarded Keene with elbows, hooks, and uppercuts, before inevitably rocking him just about a minute into the contest. Finally Yocum landed a vicious elbow that dropped Keene to the canvas, before unloading on him until the referee called an end.

Result: Yocum TKO (Strikes) 1:17 of round 1.

Hugh Jaskok vs Bruce McGregor - 155 lbs

In the first round McGregor took down Jaskok which seemed like an odd strategy considering Jaskok has a brown belt in BJJ. In a round that he dominated Jaskok escaped being taken down to find himself in a clinch. From the clinch Jaskok landed several damaging strikes. McGregor broke the clinch and Jaskok showed some power by rocking McGregor with a big right hand. Taking advantage of the knockdown Jaskok controlled McGregor for the rest of the round from top position. In the first KO victory of his career Jaskok went back to striking at range in the second round. Just over a minute into the second round he put everything into a right hand that straight cleaned McGregor's clock. Ultimately showing an unseen side to the submission artist.

Result: Jaskok KO (Punch) 1:21 of round 2.

Marcin Hold vs Hundo Varga - 155 lbs

Hold, the BJJ black belt, came out striking. He had Varga rocked just seconds into this fight. Then, while Varga was hurt, he took him down easily. Hold dominated the first round by maintaining top positioning the entire time. Both fighters tried to lock on submissions, but neither could pull anything off. The second round mirrored the first. Hold landed some strikes then took Varga down, and held him down, while trying and failing sub attempts. In the third round, in a fight that was rapidly spiraling out of control for Varga, Hold took him down and ended it with a textbook Americana from side control.

Result: Hold Submission (Americana) 0:43 of round 3.

Larson Picker vs Nathan Frost - 155 lbs

Both of these guys are top notch boxers, but Picker had an advantage. He came out busier, and more efficient. Picker won the first round quite simply by hitting more than he was hit. The second round was more of the same. Picker, the evident aggressor, landed at a much higher clip than Frost could deal with. Closing in on the end of round 2, with both fighters exhausted, Picker landed a combo that opened up a cut that Frost received in round 1. With significant bleeding, Frost took a huge combo from Picker, that put him on the floor. Picker waved him back to his feet before landing a hardcore right hand that sent him right back down. Picker dove in and continued pushing the issue until the referee had no choice.

Result: Picker TKO (Strikes) 4:31 of round 2.

Flash Runner vs Tyrion Lannister - 135 lbs

Two prospects battled it out in this one. The 20 year old Lannister, an excellent boxer, versus an 18 year old Runner, a superb wrestler with a blue belt in Jiu-Jitsu. Lannister came out using his boxing effectively. At first it seemed that Lannister would be able to get it done using only his talent with boxing, but Runner seized the opportunity for a counter takedown off a misplaced jab, taking away that advantage. Lannister did his best, but it wouldn't be enough. Runner attempted a total of four submissions before isolating an arm for the armbar just before the round ended. Runner showed good intelligence coupled with athletic ability, taking the fight to the ground against the superior striker.

Result: Runner Submission (Armbar) 4:58 of round 1.

Kasen Perkins vs Samwell Tarly - 265 lbs

Two heavyweight Muy Thai practitioners squared up here. It would be speed versus strength. Perkins, the faster fighter, was also more agressive. Tarly, the stronger, came in looking to counter. This would be problematic against an opponent that was quicker. The fighters felt each other out for just about a minute before Perkins began to score at will, and pile up the damage against the slower Tarly. A quick counter right from Perkins gashed Tarly just about a minute and a half into the fight. Then, right at the two minute mark, Perkins found what he was looking for. A brutal straight right hand that landed flush on Tarly's jaw sending him to the mat in a heap. Perkin's pounced on him, and pummeled him with hammerfists, until the ref came to save the day.

Result: Perkins TKO (Strikes) 1:58 of round 1.

Daniel Tinto vs Caio Bottura - 155 lbs

Two of the organization's most experienced and popular fighters came to the cage here to try climbing the rankings. This fight would have a little of everything, starting out on the feet, like always, the two had some quality exchanges in the opening moments of the bout. Bottura cut Tinto early with a crisp combo. After a missed hook from Bottura the first round would would see the fight move to the ground after a counter takedown from Tinto. The second round was similar with striking exchanges early, but another counter takedown from Tinto took it to the mat. This time Bottura would win the judges favor knotting the fight up 1 round each. The final round was no different than the first two, except this time neither fighter did enough to win over the judges which lead to an outcome nobody wanted to see...a draw.

Result: Draw

Larry Shreve Jr vs Randy Springs - 265 lbs

Fighting in the main event we had Larry Shreve Jr with his world class Muy Thai putting his title on the line vs Randy Springs, an excellent boxer. It was up to Springs to take the title from the resident champion. Unfortunately he just couldn't get it done this time around. Shreve Jr capitalizing on a big reach advantage kept Springs off balance almost the entirety of this contest. Springs never could find his range, only managing to connect with 3 strikes total. After the feeling out process, and closing in the one minute mark, Shreve took it to the clinch. Springs did as good as could be expected in the Thai clinch, and managed to not take any considerable damage. What I think was the game changer was the loss of energy he suffered being controlled in that clinch. For about sixty seconds the two battled for positioning before Springs managed to break the clinch just over two minutes into the fight. Visibly gassed, Springs found himself taking unanswered punishment from Shreve Jr before being rocked, and then knocked out by a hard jab from the champion.

Result: Shreve Jr KO (Punch) 2:49 of round 1.

---------------------------------------

We are only 72 hours away from the biggest card in DFC Las Vegas History. A card that is stacked from action top to bottom and not to mention it, but every single title is going to be on the line. One of those fights is the long awaited and hyped title fight for the vacant 155 strap between two young and undefeated phenoms Jackie Lee V and Marat Magomedov. There has been much grumbling backstage about the future of DFC Las Vegas and the future from the bottom up. One thing is for certain we are not going anywhere that much is promised. As far as out partnership with DFC St. Petersburg let's be honest they never really lent us a hand and this organization has been a well oiled machine that has been virtually running on its own from the beginning. Will the name be changed quite possibly, but until now our main focus is bringing you the best fights with the most entertainment. So let's start from our opener and go through the entire card that will end with the main even for the 170 title.

---------------------------------------

Opening Fight - Division: 185lbs

Kyle Dunc v Carlos Sanchez

---------------------------------------

This is a fight of two experience competitors trying to break ground and start a streak of hopeful wins. Dunc the purple belt Jiu Jitsu practitioner is hoping to end a 2 fight losing skid here by ultimately take this fight to the ground and ending it with a submission. From talking to his coaches they feel strongly that is Kyle can drag Carlos to the ground that they will get him to tap which coincidentally his wins have either come from knockout or submission. On the other side of the cage we have Carlos Sanchez he is the type of fighter fans who want to see a slug fest come out to see. He is not afraid to bang it out with anybody and has a ton of heart in my opinion. He lost one fight back in his QFC days, but as I view it fights in the QFC are much on the same rank as amateur bouts where it is an org to try out your skills and get that experience. His other loss was to the current 185lbs champ.

My Prediction: I like Carlos here to knockout Kyle Dunc fast and early in the 1st round.

---------------------------------------

2nd Fight - Division: 145lbs

Stefan Struwe v Dom Cruz

---------------------------------------

Two men with two impressive records that with a win here could put them in mention for a title shot down the line. Struwe has a good record coming into this fight, but if you looking closely he is only 3-2 in his DFC career. Granted both losses were to 2 perennial title challengers. Struwe is known for his elite punching ability and serious Muay Thai skills and will look to utilizing them in this fight. Dom Cruz only loss of his career was two a great fighter in David Dickinson. Other than that small blemish Cruz has been dismantling anyone who has opposed him in the cage. He is still young in his career, but every fight you can see the potential and the skill growing. His wins have primarily came from submission, but his stand up game is also something you cannot ignore either if your Struwe.

My Prediction: Dom Cruz takes home the win with a 2nd round submission and possibly submission of the night.

---------------------------------------

3rd Fight - Division: 135lbs

Monday Blues v Clinton Hall

---------------------------------------

The fight between a depressing name and the other guy who sounds like a newly opened wing in the White House. All jokes aside this bantamweight fight is a real treat and sets up the slew of title matches to follow. Both men are on a real run for the title here as well and I'm sure it is going to be hard to deny the winner of this one the next man up for the title. This is a rematch that the fans wanted to see in a sport where you seldom see title rematches let alone just a grudge match. Blues the Vatican City born fighter is a consistent storm in all aspects of his game with a primary focus in Muay Thai. Blues felt that the judges got the fight wrong in his loss to hall via unanimous decision and vows that this fight will not go to the score cards this time around. He is coming into this fight with the mentality of being coming home with his shield or on it. "The Prospect Hunter" Clinton Hall what is there not to love about this guy? He is the fan favorite and he has done that with not being afraid to fight anyone and also living up to his nickname. Cardio will not factor against him as the vast majority of his fights have gone to the judges.

My Prediction: I have a feeling that although this will be a good fight in the end that the rematch will turn out much like the first meeting. Clinton Hall takes this via Unanimous Decision.

---------------------------------------

4th Fight - Division: 145lbs Title Fight

Benjamin Tay v Johnny Vargas

---------------------------------------

We kick off our first title fight of many to come right here in the featherweight division. Benjamin Tay the challenger after making several attempts in the Lightweight Division decided to weight cut down and it has paid off for him. He not only is on a 2 fight win streak in his new home division, but if you take a closer look is actually undefeated in the featherweight division dating back to his QFC days. It is safe to say that Tay is a human submission machine and will have you tapping in a various number of ways. He is literally like watching a Gracie-Barra seminar. After a rematch against division rival Anthony Clark he won his title back and is planning on keeping it that way. Vargas comes into this fight off of those back to back fights that both have gone to the judges' scorecard. Vargas is the polar opposite to Tay and will like to keep this fight standing and either look for the KO or more probable the stoppage.

My Prediction: And NEW Featherweight Champion Benjamin Tay via 2nd Round submission

---------------------------------------

5th Fight - Division: 135lbs Title Fight

Maxi Smut v Andre Hendrix

---------------------------------------

This is David versus Goliath right here fans! Smut easily the tallest guy in the division for this company, but quite possibly around the world has a 10 inch height advantage which correlates to a big reach advantage in this one. The thing about that though is Smut is not much of a boxer and prefers to be in the clinch and use his wrestling as well. Not sure how the tactic will work, but it has so far to bring him to the spot where he is at now fighting for a title and winning all of his fight by KO which makes my opinion honestly go down the toilet. Hendrix is a submission expert and will want to see if he can find an opening to bring this one to the ground work his transitions and set up a big submission finish. Honestly this is the only way I see Hendrix retaining the title as I firmly believe the reaching and pure striking ability of Smut will put that title around his waist.

My Prediction: And NEW Bantamweight Champion Maxi Smut via 1st Round TKO

---------------------------------------

6th Fight - Division: 205lbs Title Fight

Asmund Sykk v Alexander Pauwels

---------------------------------------

Both men have put together a strong resume and a case of why they will walk out the champion. The challenger Asmun Sykk proved and quite possibly shocked the DFC fan base with a stunning victory over the monster that is Bryan Mayhem. He went the distance and proved to the world why he belongs here in this title fight on this epic card. Sykk only career loss came in his QFC days in the final round in a tournament on little to no rest between. Is Sykk ready to take the thrown and end this the way he wants by knockout? Which bring us to our champion Alexander Pauwels. Pauwels as you remember made short work of the hot knockout prospect and then champion Clinton Smaxsons. Literally making the former champion look like a first fight amateur with his poise and precision striking. Pauwels only loss came against a familiar name Bryan Mayhem. Pauwels stated though that he was a different fight back then and trained very hard after that first taste of defeat and in his championship win proved that all that hard work paid off and big time.

My Prediction: And STILL Light Heavyweight Champion Alexander Pauwels.

---------------------------------------

7th Fight - Division: 185lbs Title Fight

Jan Paul Valens v Hannibal Rose

---------------------------------------

A middleweight fight against honestly to even competitors and both putting undefeated records on the line. Only one will walk home with the title and that win streak intact. Let's look at this fight very closely to see who we think may come out the victor. Valens comes into this fight 19 inches shorter than his opponent. We put a big empathize today and reach all of the time, but I'm not sure here it is going to be much of a factor as Valens has sensational footwork and knows how to hit his angles. Valens is a jack of all trades when it comes to the cage and in my opinion can finish the fight from any position. He has been demanding a title shot with DFC and he finally got one. Let's see how he does with it. Hannibal Rose loves knocking people especially top contenders out. He is still young in his career, but when it comes to being a knockout artist he is the Claude Monet of the MMA world. Just like Valens though Rose even as a specialist standing up is also pretty crafty with his Muay Thai, Wrestling, and holds a purple belt in Jiu Jitsu. This one is going to be a very tough fight to and I hope this does not go to the judges as on paper this fight is a razor thin line.

My Prediction: And STILL Middleweight Champion Hannibal Rose via 3rd Round TKO

---------------------------------------

8th Fight - Division: 155lbs Title Fight

Jackie Lee V v Marat Magomedov

---------------------------------------

This is a fight that since the lightweight title was vacated by Gil Jacobson fans have been wanting to see. It honestly has all the making to be one of the greatest fights of all time within the DFC. Both men had extended training camps just to be in full preparation for this moment. Jackie "Bad Man" Lee V is not only a scary individual outside of the cage, but inside it is even more terrifying. He has been the quiet storm brewing waiting for this very moment and add another knockout to his list. We haven't been able to even speak with him or his camp coming into this one as all practices and sparring has been closed to the public. What version of Jackie Lee will we see come Friday night? I do not know, but if his past fight are any indication of what he is going to add on to for this one my oh my someone is not leaving here without injury. Now we turn to "The Beast" straight out of Russia. He is built like a T-34 and fire rapid fire precision shots like an AK-47. He carved out a great Sambo career and grew up in a poor family in a harsh landscape environment. It is almost like Magomedov was born and bred for war. He lives and strives in moments on chaos and is like the center of a tornado calm, but ready to unleash one hell of a fury when it is time to let it go. This fight I will promise you will not disappoint as Marat even said to reporters when this match was signed,"Why you take this fight? you must know you can not win. There is three week to go, you can still pull out with injury." If that is any indication of how badly these two want to dismantle each other I do not know what is.

My Prediction: And NEW Lightweight Champion Marat Magomedov via 2nd round TKO

---------------------------------------

Co-Main Event - Division: 265lbs Title Fight

Tarn Erdesktrok v Larry Shreve Jr

---------------------------------------

A battle of the big men as we have a young up and comer who possesses the power of Thor's hammer in his fist versus a champion who has held on to his title for the past 5 months which in this company is quite a feat and is just shy of the mark set by the current Welterweight Champion Ira Wright. Tarn only 3 professional fights all of which in DFC and all of them ending abruptly with his fists in the first round. His game plan is pretty simple he just plans on putting the champion to sleep fast and quick. He told us at DFC Las Vegas that he plans on testing Larry's chin as he feels it has never been properly tested and he has never been hit as hard and as skillful by someone of his striking prowess. Larry is also no stranger to fights ending quick and by his fists. He scoffed at the idea of his chin never been testing and cited that he has a whole highlight reel of fights that can serve as a testament to this. At only age 21 Larry is now on his 12th career fight and does not plan on retiring young or giving up the title any time soon.

My Prediction: And STILL Heavyweight Champion Larry Shreve Jr by 2nd Round TKO

---------------------------------------

Main Event - Division: 170lbs Title Fight

Manny Pacquiao v Ira Wright

---------------------------------------

The biggest question being asked around the company is can Ira Wright be beaten? The only time that has ever happened was against our friends turned rivals DFC St. Petersburg when he lost by a razor thin decision. No other top contender no matter how promising has been able to stop him. It has even prompted DFC Las Vegas Owner Jay Van Clief and General Manager Ryan West to go on the road scouting fighters from other companies and the free agent pool to find someone to challenge Wright. Many are afraid Wright will test free agency after this final fight on his contract to compete elsewhere. If that becomes the came we wish Ira the ebst and with heavy hearts we will have to let the most dominant champion in DFC Las Vegas history ride into the sunset. Ira since winning the title has had 3 successful defenses one of them being a 31 second TKO of top contender Andrey Lobtov. Now we have a man who has embraced the underdog role Manny Pacquiao. At first glance we see a slightly above average record, but looking further we see a fighter who has earned himself $10,000 worth of bonuses between fight of the nights and KO of The Nights. This will be his first fight under new manager Keelan Dolan. The decision to switch camps before a big title fight is going to either be the beginning of a quick end or make Pacquiao look like an absolute genius. He does have KO power and has traveled to several different organizations testing his skill. We will see if the world traveling experience and the switch in training camp will either be the biggest upset in DFC history or another highlight reel victory for Ira Wright.

My Prediction: And STILL Welterweight Champion Ira Wright via 1st Round KO.

---------------------------------------

Conclusion I hope you enjoyed the preview for our biggest event in our young company's history. We had another writer quite on us due to real life obligations coming up which is always sad to see a team member go, but completely understood as this is just a game and done for fun. As always if anyone is wishing to make some extra money and write for DFC Las Vegas or know someone who is please have them message me or our General Manager Ryan West for details. Until then I will be trying my hardest to do some write ups, but please bare with me on how often I can and the quality of the work. Thank you all as always your work and dedication here is always appreciated.
