LFC 1: Post event analysis by MMA Hype

Tonight on MMA Hype, Jared Asante and Brett Clarke are with LFC owner James Listerman, to analyze LFC’s first event.

Here’s Jared and Brett.

-- -- --

Jared Asante: Good evening ladies and gentlemen! LFC 1 was a huge success, thanks to the participation of our beloved sponsor, Kaiser fightwear, but most importantly, thanks to all fighters that showed up and gave us an incredible performance.

Brett Clarke: Indeed Jared. It was extremely fun to see all the new fighters, some of them at their professional debut, go in the cage without fear and deliver a performance we all wanted, the LFC fanbase will only grow stronger after this.

James Listerman is with us, first of all, what did you think about LFC 1?

James Listerman: Before going in details regarding LFC 1, I’d like to thank all the managers and fighters that made this event possible. As a brand new fight organization, it can be quite the gamble for a manager to sign fighters here, but this is just the beginning of a great thing. Fear not, this is the first of many successful events.

With that said, LFC 1 was an awesome event, for the fighters, for the managers, and especially for the fans. When the undercard is as good as the main card, it adds a good mix to the entire event, and the fans wanted more after the last fight.

Brett: Anything you would have done different, knowing it would have been such a success?

James Listerman: The only thing I would have done different, book a bigger venue. Wild Bob’s Bar is an awesome place to hold such an event, but with the amount of fans that were watching on the big screen outside of the bar, we could easily have sold out a venue at least twice this size.

Jared: We actually went outside before the main card begun to chat with some fans, I think the LFC has the best fanbase ever.

James Listerman: That’s what we aim for. We can’t really control who likes or dislikes us, but we do everything that we can to please, and I think it’s worked well.

Brett: Alright, now let’s talk about the fights as a whole. What impressed me the most, is the amount of finishes we saw tonight. 8 finishes out of 10 fights, 7 of those in the first round, were you surprised at with this outcome?

James Listerman: To be honest, not really. I mean, we’re an organization that promotes fighters who start their careers, these are the fights that will usually end up being either one sided crazy aggressive until one’s chin gives up. Fighters are here to prove themselves, and to build themselves a fanbase. This is what you have to do to prove yourself worthy in the tycoon universe. Get yourself some “of the night” awards and you’ll gain the best of both world: more fans and a bigger bank account.

Brett: That’s really true. Personally, I loved the main event fight. Stanchev showed great skills in that fight, but McPunchface shower huge heart. I got rocked and knockdown a few times, he still got back up to fight, that’s determination right there.

And Stanchev calling for a title fight in his post interview, any thoughts?

James Listerman: To be honest, he would be the first in live for a title fight, no doubt, but with only 1 event completed, we still have to wait to get a solid fighter base before starting to throw out the titles. I’d say around LFC 10, this is most likely when the first titles will start to flow.

Jared: Well that’s all the time we had for tonight, hope you enjoyed LFC 1, it was a pleasure to be part of it, thanks to James Listerman for being with us, and we’ll see you all next time!

Errol "Copperhead" Williams

"I just been told by some upper management LFC's folks that I need to watch my language and demeanor if I hope to have a good relationship and career in the LFC.

What kind o' PC bullcrap is this? I say what I want and if y'all get your panties in a twist then you can go back to your own damn country. I'm an goddamn righteous blue blooded American and ain't no one gonna keep me from sayin' shit, 'specially no Canadian'.

They can do what they want to stop me, but I'm gonna get their belt strapped around my waist and show y'all how 'Mericans is better than the rest of yous."

Keep up the good work Listerman

LFC 2: Nikolov vs Tanaka Main Card Preview

Tonight on MMA Hype, Jared Asante and Brett Clarke are analyzing LFC 2 live from their Los Angeles office. After being part of the successes of LFC 1, the MMA Hype team is looking forward to another great event in LFC 2, that will once again, be held at the beautiful and always clean, Wild Bob’s Bar.

Don’t forget to feed your gambling addiction by putting money on your favorite fighters! MMA Hype is once again holding bookies for the event.

Here’s Jared and Brett.

-- -- --

Jared Asante: Good evening ladies and gentlemen! We are currently sitting comfortably in our LA office, and we just finished analyzing LFC 2’s main card, boy will this be a fun event to watch! Since most of the fighters haven't fought professionally yet, we decided to put our main focus on half the fights for tonight.

Brett Clarke: That’s right, it’s not because the undercard isn’t important, it’s just that a few fights in a fighter’s career usually dictates if he’s gonna be able to make it to the big leagues of not. A fighter starting his pro career needs a good test before being a real subject of conversation.

Anyways, let’s get start with the analysis!

LFC 2 Undercard:

205 lbs Rambo Jackson v Grimm Reaper
205 lbs Onwuazo Ban Gbus v Ivan Kozlov
170 lbs Stevie West v Thiago Souza
265 lbs Kyle Slater v Malcolm Blackman
205 lbs Nico Salas v John Chandler

185 lbs - Neyman Gariniho vs Errol Williams

Brett: The main card starts off with 2 Muay Thai specialists making their pro debut. Both fighters are from well known managers, so it will be a fight of who picks the best strategy.

The brazilian-newyorker Gariniho, who trains at the well known The Studio, has been looking forward to this fight, even though he’s kept quiet during his training camp.

On the other side, the Kentucky native, Errol Williams, already gave a piece of his mind to the media, after LFC management told him to keep his language under control during the press conferences. He didn’t take it very well, but we’ve heard that it only gave him the motivation to rack up the wins to get the LFC’s middleweight belt.

Jared: Yeah that was quite funny to watch to be honest. Williams doesn’t have much of a filter, let’s see if he can prove himself worthy to the LFC. He also seems to think him being an American makes him superior to his brazilian opponent, so I’m curious to see how Gariniho will handle that in the cage.

185 lbs - Quintin Navarro vs Johnny Kane

Brett: Another Middleweight bout, this time, a fight for cash, because both fighters are looking to bring big bucks home, to pay for their gym fees. Quintin Navarro will be the smaller fighter, having a 10cm height disadvantage, but his life experience could help him in the fight, being the elder by a few years.

While Johnny Kane is an exceptional BJJ practitioner, the Canadian, will have his hands full against the collegiate wrestler. Kane already has 2 fights under his belt, both resulting in first round submissions in his favor, so he will be going for 3 in a row.

Jared: Looking at Kane’s past opponents, it’s not much to brag about, they are 2 scrums that didn’t make it very far, but Navarro sure will be a big test for him.

155 lbs - Alex Taibo vs Richard Richards

Brett: Moving on to a different weightclass this time, lightweights Alex Taibo and Richard Richards will go head to head. Taibo was able to grind himself to a first pro victory last month, which was enough to get a contract with the LFC. He was looking like a very well rounded fighter, mixing strikes and moves, making him very unpredictable. He will have a huge size advantage against Richards.

A guy who was probably feeling his concussion when he signed his LFC contract, Richard Richards, who was fighting at 135lbs, decided to try it out at 155lbs. We saw him yesterday, he hasn’t gained a single pound, so he will most likely weight-in at 140lbs, more or less.

Jared: I know, and it may be funny to watch him in the cage versus Taibo. The size difference could be enough to see him being thrown all across that cage. I doubt his ground skills will be enough to counter anything Taibo throws his way, but I sure anxious to see that fight.

170 lbs - Jimmy Bones vs Claus Baldemnic

Brett: Co-main event anyone? A welterweight fight, between Jimmy “Jones” Bones, who managed to rack up more KT hype than MMA, even though he’s never fought in KT, against striker Claus Baldemnic, who likes standup so much that it only took him 15 seconds at his pro debut to destroy his opponent.

We’ve heard that Jimmy Jones may have caught a flu, but will still be able to perform at LFC 2. That will surely affect his morale, but hopefully it will let him perform at nearly 100%, him that showed real determination and toughness during his pro debut. Even though his lost his first MMA fight, he showed that he could hang in there with the big boys.

We’ve also heard that Claus Baldemnic will have his gloves checked before the fight. For some reason, they are afraid that he might be packing stone in his gloves, which is completely insane and untrue, but the way he landed against his last opponent, I can understand why they would be skeptical. Baldemnic will surely be quite the test for Jones’ chin.

Jared: Jimmy Jones, flu or not, knowing him, he will give his 100% in that cage. Baldemnic will be a huge test, I agree, so I look forward to see who brings what it takes for that fight.

170 lbs - Hiro Tanaka vs Nikolay Nikolov

Brett: The main fight of the event, also known as, the main event! Before I even begin, I want to say that I’m looking forward to this fight. We don’t know much about the fighters yet, but we know they I’ve had a chat with both of them, they want it bad! Both of them could easily make the weight at 155lbs, but they decided to sign at 170lbs. Hiro Tanaka vs Nikolay Nikolov!

Tanaka won his first MMA fight in a strange manner. The heavy handed striker kept his opponent to the ground and grounded the shit out of him, which was quite unexpected to say the least. Even though no one expected that gameplan, experts said that it was the smartest way to approach the fight, which gave him a lot of props.

His opponent, 4-0 already in his career, already making him a clear contender for the welterweight title, Nikolov will be looking to get a quick finish like he does it best. He hasn’t been tested in long fights yet, and Tanaka being a durable fighter, the test could very well happen at LFC 2. Nikolov already has a fanbase at the LFC, him being quite the popular fighter. I mean, who doesn’t like a slugger?

Jared: This is easy contender for fight of the night. I don’t care what anyone says, they want to win, they hit hard and they fight smart. They also want to put on a show, so this is my definitive choice for an award at LFC 2.

With that said, that’s all the time we had folks. Hope you enjoyed your time, and if you don’t have your tickets for LFC 2 yet, we have a few tickets left to giveaway, just give us a shout!

LFC 2 Aftermath

Tonight on MMA Hype, Jared Asante and Brett Clarke are at Wild Bob’s Bar in Los Angeles, along with LFC owner James Listerman, to discuss yet another success. LFC 2 showed another wave of future Tycoon superstars, which is exactly what Listerman was hoping for.

Here’s Jared and Brett, along with Listerman.

-- -- --

Jared Asante: Good evening ladies and gentlemen! LFC 2 just concluded, and we’re here, at Wild Bob’s Bar, with LFC owner James Listerman. What an event that was. It’s pretty much a continuity to where LFC 1 left off. That’s exactly what the fans came here for, everyone walked out of here extremely happy, there’s even a good majority of fans that stayed at the bar to meet the fighters.

Brett Clarke: Yeah, the fighters are currently backstage, signing autographs. Some of them had to leave for a quick trip at the hospital for precautionary checkups, but all the winners stuck around for the fans.

James Listerman: That’s something that we’re really fond of at the LFC. Fighters have no obligation to stick around after events, there’s nothing of that in their contracts, but they do it for the love of the sport, and that’s what makes us happy.

Brett: Let’s talk right away about tonight’s event. What and who impressed you the most?

James Listerman: I have to go with Kozlov vs Ban Gbus that was fight of the night. Ban Gbus showed tremendous heart, it’s been a while since I’ve seen a guy like that, who just doesn’t want to quit. Kozlov rocked him late in the first round, but the round ended. He then proceeded to knock him down 3 times in round 2, but round 3 was all she wrote. Fights like that are what fans come for, and those 2 sure delivered.

Jared: Oh man it was a crazy fight for sure. What about KO and Sub of the night?

James Listerman: KO of the night was a quick one, we saw Nico Salas end Chandler’s night with a crazy knee to the face, that only took him 9 seconds. Then we saw a high skilled grappling match between Johnny Kane and Quintin Navarro, where they battled for top position, had a few sub attempts of their own, until Kane landed with a beautiful Brabo Choke to end the fight. All that in under 3 minutes.

Brett: I’m a big fan of grappling and BJJ myself, that Brabo Choke was a treat to watch. You don’t see that everyday, but when you do, you cannot unsee it, I just loved it.

Jared: Well, that’s all the time we had folks. Another successful event in the books for the LFC, hope to see you guys around next time!

LFC 3: Ferrara vs Nsoko Preview

Tonight on MMA Hype, Jared Asante and Brett Clarke are discussing LFC’s upcoming event. After 2 successful events, the LFC are slowly climbing the fight org rankings, and are proving themselves to the tycoon world to be one of the most solid rising organization.

Here’s Jared and Brett.

-- -- --

Jared Asante: Good evening ladies and gentlemen! We are currently sitting comfortably in our LA office, and we just finished analyzing the LFC 3 fights. From what can see at first glance, this will be the biggest event of the LFC in terms of size, and by that, I mean, 8 out of 10 fights will be 205 or higher. Big men are going at one another.

Brett Clarke: With big men comes power, so we can surely expect a lot of the fights to end quick. The kind of event where KOs will fly all over the place, and the LA hospital will most likely be busy Saturday night. I spoke with James Listerman earlier today, he said he’s expecting all fights to be stoppages, so let’s start talking about the fights right away.

265 - Muhammad Bello vs Abaeze Ban Gbus

Brett: We’ve heard that it’s been a really tough camp for Muhammad Bello. We don’t know whether he’s taking his last loss too seriously, or if he’s just not comfortable in his clothes, but he sure has been feeling down.

He will need to get his motivation back if he wants to win, because Abaeze Ban Gbus on the other side has been full tilt in his training camp. Even though he will be at his first pro fight, we’ve seen him train, and his boxing is quite up there. He looks like he’s in incredible shape, and the guys down at Acadamia de La Fuerza are saying he’s 100% on track.

Jared: Maybe Bello has caught something, I know I’ve been quite fluish for the past few days. Also, he hasn’t returned home since his last fight, he could also be homesick. Nevertheless, I’m sure he’s not gonna be an easy opponent.

155 - Jeremy Heathen vs Ben Bryan

Brett: A lightweight fight between Jeremy Heathen and Ben Bryan. Those 2 will look like kids compared to the rest of the card, but they do pack quite a bit of power. Jeremy Heathen is a very confident boxer, he will be at his 4th pro fight, and won 2 of his fights via KO. This is why I’m saying they pack power.

His opponent will be irish boxer, Ben Bryan, who’ll be making his pro debut. He will have a big test facing Heathen, but we’ve heard he’s been quite relax about all of this. He’s been training really hard at O'Brannigans MMA in London, and he’s been ready for his first fight for quite a while.

Jared: I’d say Bryan has an advantage over Heathen at this point. He has tapes of Heathen’s previous fights and can study how he fights. Should be an interesting fight.

265 - Kyle TerGoose vs Temujin Borjigin

Brett: Big guns. This is how I describe this fight. Kyle TerGoose will be facing alliance mat Temujin Borjigin in a heavyweight bout. At this point, whoever connects early will most likely win the fight.

TerGoose has already begun his career with a quick TKO victory in his pro debut. He decided to take a big step forward by signing with the LFC and accepting to fight Borjigin, but he’s well prepared and should be able to handle himself very well in that fight. He has great power and can end a fight at any second.

Borjigin is yet another fighter coming from the Wolf Training Lair, gym that has been known to train overrated fighters and can crushers. He likes to call himself “Wolf Of The Plains”, so don’t be surprised to see him howl around the cage every now and then.

Jared: I like to think TerGoose will demolish Borjigin quite easily. I don’t know why, but I have that strange feeling. I heard Borjigin will be proudly wearing Kaiser fightwear during the event, that’s always nice to see.

205 - Sean Glyn Thomas vs Chet Stedman

Brett: Sean Glyn Thomas, who’s been recently released by his manager and is currently a free agent, will be facing ground sensation, Chet Stedman. Thomas will be going into this fight with nobody but himself, making it a bit weird for all of us. Not to say he will look like quite the loser, but I doubt any managers will try to sign the guys. The 20yo looked weak during his first pro fight, not being able to defend punch combos and submitted due to strikes.

On the other hand, Chet Stedman is coming off a quick Kimura victory at his pro debut fight, making a statement that he’s quite the grappler. Even though his opponent turned out to be one of the biggest flop is MMA history, Stedman still was able to prove himself worthy.

Jared: I had a chat with Chet Stedman yesterday. Weirdly enough we ended up talking about gardening, cause he’s really passionate about it, but he’s quite to good guy outside of the cage.

155 - Johnny Texas vs Randolph Coleman

Brett: Another lightweight fight to balance the scale of this event. Another fighter from Acadamia de La Fuerza, Johnny Texas, will be looking to keep his perfect record intact. He already showed that he was an extremely solid kicker, and will most likely use that weapon againist his opponent.

Randolph Coleman has been training real hard, so hard that we don’t know if he will be able to recuperate at 100% before fight. He wants that fight to go to the ground where he would be very comfortable. If he’s able to take Texas down, he should only be a matter of time until he gets a submission.

Jared: Coleman is a very skilled grappler, but if Texas starts kicking him early, that could be trouble for him. Texas is powerful, he has been training his takedown defense real hard, it could make a big difference in the fight.

205 - Shmaryahu Bensoussan vs Chris Theil

Brett: Fingers crossed, we hope this fight will happen. Chris Theil has been having a weird training camp, and he might not be able to make weight in time for the fight. We’re not sure what happened, but he may be about to leave his manager, since he hasn’t been around much lately.

If the fight does happen, Bensoussan should have a neat advantage, since everything has been going flawlessly for him. Even though it will be his first pro fight, his training camp has been going well, we’ve seen him spar with some veterans, and he looks dominant on the mat.

Jared: If the fight does happen, I think Theil will struggle to keep his composure. I’m not sure he’s taking this fight really seriously, which is kind of a bummer.

265 - Viktor Storgaard vs David Wilson

Brett: Identical records, difference in weight. David Wilson will be the smaller fighter here, and that’s quite unfortunate, because Storgaard has been known to use his size to his advantage.

Viktor Storgaard, the 16-man tourney semi-finalist, will be looking to get himself a winning streak, and hopefully he can make himself a serious LFC Heavyweight contender. He’s had to put the brakes on training, since he’s run out of money, but I doubt this stops him from plowing through his opponent.

David Wilson has been training hard in the past few weeks, but unfortunately for him, his gym is quite the bummer. The Cozad gyms have a really bad reputation in general, so let’s hope he can prove us otherwise.

Jared: Storgaard, what a dumbass. He was at Sully’s the other night, he’s pretty much drinking on behalf of others, haven't seen him pay a round all night long. I guess it explains him being kicked out of his current gym, the poor guy doesn’t have a dime. I wish him a win, the LFC will have to make him wealthy or something.

205 - Shoma Tanaka vs Albert Hummel

Brett: Another case of a fighter who’s been kicked out of his gym. Albert Hummel has been sitting at home for the past few days, cross training in his basement. Let’s hope it will be enough to be able to keep up with his opponent. Hummel lost his pro debut by being completely dominated on the ground. Fortunately he will have a chance to redeem himself against an excellent striker.

Shoma Tanaka has already shown great striking in his pro debut, landing the vast majority of his punches, along with great combos. The japanese has been pumping iron for the past few weeks, so if he connects as much, he should be able to get a quick KO, that’s if, he chose weights over burgers.

Jared: It’s the first time I even hear about a burger bar with a gym. Sounds very silly to me, but I guess it brings you different crowds.

265 - Penn Wakefield vs Lex Strokum

Brett: The co-main event will feature 2 big dudes, that will both be at their 3rd career fights. Unfortunately for those fighters, they may not be considered as top contenders since both their managers seem to be quite inactive.

Penn Wakefield is 2 and 0, having 2 very quick finishes under his belt. He will be looking at keeping that winning streak alive, and most likely another quick finish, since he wants to make that a trademark. He doesn’t lack confidence, and is very dangerous in the clinch, but will it be enough?

He’s facing Lex Strokum, who’s coming off a quick KO win in his last fight. Even though he’s known to be quite an inexperienced fighter, he’s shown potential in his previous fights. He doesn’t have an amateur record, but he’s sparring like beast, not really sparing anyone’s breath.

Jared: Not sure this fight has the potential to be the most exciting of the night, but I sure know that it will end in the first round. They are big and strong, and don’t look like they can take a punch.

265 - Jonny Ferrara vs Manzini Nsoko

Brett: Ferrara vs Nsoko, that will be quite the main event! Both fighters undefeated, Ferrara has won 4 via GNP, and never lasted more than 2 minutes in the cage, while Nsoko has won 2, one of them being a submission. What does that tell us? They both can grapple the shit out of their opponent, so this oughta be good.

Jonny Ferrara is a very confident brawler, and it showed in all of his previous fights. He’s not scared of moving forward and punch, and he will take you down no matter what you try, whether it’s from the clinch or anywhere else. I like to see that guy as a Brock Lesnar kind of fighter. He takes you down, couple of punches, and that’s all she wrote.

On the other side, we’ll see the amazing grappler that Manzini Nsoko can be. While he does prefer to stand and bang, mostly kick you in the face, Nsoko can handle himself very well on the ground. He transitions quite smoothly and has some impressive submission skills.

Jared: I think Nsoko is the perfect matchup to end Ferrara’s win streak. Ferrara seems to be steam rolling through his opponents by outmatching them on the ground, but he’s facing someone who’s not afraid at all to grapple. I wouldn’t put money on that fight, but you should!

So what does Jeremy Lil Heathen think about his Listerman Fighting Circuit debut and his opponent.

Lil Heathen: I'm pumped to be fighting for Listerman Fighting Circuit and and was begging for a fight so I'm grateful for the opportunity presented to me. So thanks guys. I'll be ready to put on a show.

My opponent. Not much is known about him but that doesn't faze me. I'll be going in there and when the cage is locked throw straight bombs and than we will find out if Bryan has a chin, heart and balls.

I'm coming off a loss in my last fight, which I'm really still pissed at. I let my coaches down, myself and my fans with that performance. I'm capable of much more and hope the changes I have made prove that.

I've changed gyms, relocated to Tokyo and have been working on many aspects of mma. I have a lot to learn including my Muay Thai and ground game.

I'm coming to fight hard and I'm prepared for 15 minutes of pain. I'm coming for the bonuses and fighting the best. My coaches think I may be better suited for 145 so will speak to the bosses at LFC and see what they plan for me.

LFC 3 Aftermath

Tonight on MMA Hype, Jared Asante and Brett Clarke are with LFC owner, James Listerman, to review LFC 3 that just ended. It was packed at Wild Bob’s Bar on Saturday night, and the fighters gave the fans a crazy show that they will remember. Only 1 fight went to a decision, and it was fight of the night, so this is what you want to see as a fan.

Here’s Jared and Brett, along with James Listerman.

-- -- --

Jared Asante: Good evening ladies and gentlemen! LFC 3 is now in the books, and the big boys delivered pretty much what we expected; early finishes! We are here with James Listerman who clearly looks like a happy man.

Brett Clarke: I would be happy too if I were him, the LFC fighters are always looking like they’re having the time of their lives, which is the main goal. We’ve had a crazy night of fights, big guys knocking each other out, some quicker than others, but the most impressive thing here is, 8 finishes out of 9 were in the first round. This is one of the quickest event I’ve seen in my life. Surprised about it James?

James Listerman: Not at all. We did mention this before the event even started, LFC 3 featured mostly fighters over 205 pounds, so when you have those guys in a cage, especially at that level of skills, you have to expect early finishes. Any fight could have gone either way, it was pretty much who landed first.

Brett: As for the main event, we all expected a quick grappling match, but just under 30 seconds, that’s pretty impressive isn’t it?

James Listerman: Ferrara vs Nsoko. Yes we expected a quick grappling match, and we knew who would start on top, but Ferrara has shown that he’s a big threat for the 265 division. Basically takedown, punch, punch and that’s all he needed tonight. Jonny Ferrara, remember the name, because this kid is going somewhere. That quick GNP KO gave him an extra $3000 in his pockets for KO of the night, what a performance.

Brett: Submission of the night went to Shmaryahu Bensoussan for his quick Guillotine, thoughts?

James Listerman: We knew Bensoussan was ready for that fight, and that Theil had a hard time during his training camp, but Theil started that fight pretty damn good. He still managed to get the fight where he wanted, he got a quick clinch, then a takedown, but Bensoussan was just too much for him off his back, he just kept working until he locked that beautiful submission, totally deserving that sub of the night.

Jared: My favorite fight to watch was actually one of the 155 bouts. It’s no surprise that they got fight of the night, but even then, that fight had every aspect of MMA. A really close decision at that.

James Listerman: Indeed a close decision. You could see in the fight that Randolph Coleman wanted to fight on the ground, and Johnny Texas wanted nothing of it. Coleman managed to dominate the first round quite easily, but he ran out of juice starting the second round. Texas put his striking dominance to work in round 2 and 3, that was enough to get a decision, even though he wanted to end that fight. Nice decision for Texas who sounded like a crowd favorite in his post fight interview. They love that performance, and so did we.

Jared: Well that’s all the time we had folks, hope you enjoyed LFC 3, it’s been a pleasure to be here tonight, like usual, we had the greatest time! See you later!

Viktor Storgaard (301154)

Very happy to bounce back with a nice win over my opponent.

My coaches have been on my back about staying focused and told me i got really lucky on just raw skill with my last victory. Against a better opponent i might not have found that opening.

I am now a free agent but the good people at Gorilla Warfare MMA have once again opened their doors for me to train and hopefully i can prove that i am not just a dim witted giant with a lucky punch.

LFC 4 Preview

Tonight on MMA Hype, Jared Asante and Brett Clarke are having a beer at Wild Bob’s Bar in Los Angeles, discussing LFC 4 that will be held this Saturday. This will be LFC’s last official event held at Wild Bob’s, since they will be moving to a bigger venue afterwards.

Here’s Jared and Brett.

-- -- --

Jared Asante: Good evening ladies and gentlemen! We are currently sipping on a beer at Wild Bob’s, and man are we excited to talk about LFC 4 tonight. I feel like the LFC just started yesterday, but we already see familiar faces on the fight card, since some fighters are at their 2nd LFC fight.

Brett Clarke: Yes, and that’s really impression when you think about it. There’s even a fighter, Johnny Kane, who fought 2 weeks ago at LFC 2, who’s looking to get his 4th straight win in just over a month. That right there is the kind of fighter that any fight organization owner wants to have in his roster.

Jared: The LFC roster in general is pretty great from what I’ve heard from owner James Listerman. He said that a lot of fighters have been asking to fight more often than not, which makes it way easier on matchmaking. It’s just a matter of time before he plans title fights for each divisions.

Brett: About title fights, I actually had a conversation with Listerman regarding that. The championship belts are almost ready, he should get them really soon, and he’s planning to start those title fights sooner than later. He originally said that LFC 10 would be a good event to host a couple, but chances are it will be sooner.

Anyways, let’s talk about the LFC 4 fight card now.

265 - Richard Ramirez v John Gacy

Brett: John Gacy has the weirdest start to a MMA career I ever seen. 1-0-2, the guy needs to get either a winning or losing streaks, because all those draws will most likely ruin his mental game. Being a really small heavyweight and, not really important, but big musicals fan, he will need to use his speed to control the fight. He hasn’t shown anything out of the ordinary, but the potential is there.

Richard Ramirez will be a tough opponent. Only 1 fight to show in his career as of now, but it took him just under a minute to beat up an intelligent brawler. Ramirez looks like he can be very powerful on the ground, so expect a quick takedown following by some ground and pound from him.

Jared: Gacy needs to buy himself some clothes man. Those whities he’s been wearing are really not helping his morale, he didn’t look 100% last time I saw him.

170 - Jason Landings v Brodie Nickoson

Brett: Two welterweights making their pro debut. Jason Landings is coming off as a well rounded MMA fighter. For those who don’t know him yet, he’s known as “The Viking” in his hometown of Turku in Finland. I was talking with one of the coaches at Midnight MMA in New York, and he was saying that Landings is a very tough matchup, since he’s unpredictable, whether it’s standing or on the ground.

We’ll see if that means anything when he faces Brodie Nickoson on Saturday night. Nickoson has been bragging his wrestling quite a bit lately. He’s done a lot of wrestling sparring and wants to take the fight to the ground, which is where he says he’ll be dominant. He sure will be happy to be back in his native country, since he’s been living in Tokyo for quite a long time now.

Jared: It’s always an interesting fight when 2 fighters make their MMA debut one against another. You can’t predict anything and always judge by looking at their physical build. Those guys are almost identical in terms of physical shape, so I’m unbiased.

170 - Calvin Lowder v Dick Jawbreak

Brett: On a scale of Lowder to Jawbreak, how do I describe this matchup? Dick Jawbreak will be the elder of a couple years, but will be the smallest foe. He’s won 2 fights via armbar, and that under 3 minutes of total time inside the cage. Some will say about him that he didn’t gain enough experience, and that if he find a durable opponent, it might be a totally different outcome.

We will see that, since he’s facing Calvin Lowder, who’s been known for having quite the solid chin. Lowder also classifies himself as a grappler first, even though he lost his first pro fight via submission, he’s dominated and out-grappled his opponent in his last fight, winning via an impressive RNC.

Jared: I feel like both fighters still need a few fights in before we can really tell what they are capable of. The only thing we’re really certain about is, they want to control the fight on the mat, whether it’s on their back or on top. Somehow, they have that in common with my wife.

155 - Nick Hein v Joe Walker

Brett: A familiar face right here, Nick Hein, the first ever fighter to win a fight at the LFC. A brought his A-game at LFC 1 and KOed his opponent in just over a minute. While he’s still considered to be an underdog in this fight, we think he will be completely ready and shock the world when he faces young sensation Joe Walker.

Walker is a really young fighter coming out of Wolf Training Lair. Training with a lot of top fighters, his manager is already claiming that he will be the next big thing, and that he will most likely be a future champion. Not that I’m against that saying, but with that hype, he will have a lot to prove. The 16yo will sure have a lot of pressure in the first couple years of his career, but if he can handle it, sky is the limit.

Jared: Well Hein will be a really tough matchup for Walker. Walker is one of the rare fighters to start his career at 16. It would be really impressive to see that get win a title fight before he’s 18, don’t think I’ve seen this before.

185 - Mario Lee v Johnny Kane

Brett: What happens when you put confidence, heart and determination in a blender? You get a Johnny Kane. Kane fought 2 weeks ago, at LFC 2, and requested for a fight at LFC 4, calling out his opponent Mario Lee. He’s been looking to challenge himself and gain cage experience, so for him, Lee is the perfect opponent, being his elder and well rounded. The fight will sure be a test for Kane, but being already 3-0, all wins via submissions in the first round, he have what it takes to become a serious 185 contender.

Mario Lee has been staying in the US ever since he’s joined the LFC. He already proved to be a solid striker, with a 2-0 record, but has never been tested on the ground yet. He will have his hands full against Kane, who will do whatever it takes to bring him down to the mat to try and submit him early. Lee is growing fast in popularity in the LFC, and winning on Saturday night could grow his fanbase even more.

Jared: That’s a fight I’m looking forward to. We’ve seen both those fighters already, and they both want to put on a show. The winner of that fight could probably earn a shot at the vacant title pretty soon.

170 - Dmitry Donskoy v Raymond Richards

Brett: Two LFC newcomers that have been testing the MMA market for quite a while. Donskoy is already 2-0 outside of organizations, and will be looking to improve that record. He’s been having a tough camp in St. Petes, especially after his manager went AWOL for the past few days. He’s worried that his manager won’t be present for his fight, and it’s making him very nervous, which is affecting his morale quite a bit.

Raymond Richards will try to take that to his advantage, him who’s having a hard time getting a win streak going. Richards has been away from the gym scene for a few weeks, saying he doesn’t to train to prepare for a fight, all he needs is good sleep and alone time with himself. I didn’t want to comment on that, but we’ll see what happens on Saturday night.

Jared: Richards is a weird character. Everytime I tried to have a decent conversation with him, he always changed subject and started talking nonsense. I don’t like to use those words, but he’s kinda special.

155 - Brodie McDonald v Toga Bean

Brett: Another fight between 2 LFC “veterans” if we can call them that way. Both fighters are coming off wins at their LFC debut, so another win Saturday night would already put them at the top of the contender list. Brodie McDonald has shown a lot of versatility, being very solid all around his MMA game and also shown good durability, which will come in handy against Bean.

Toga Bean is still undefeated, can take a punch, but hasn’t really showed natural power as of yet. He’s been quite dominant in his previous fights, but seems like he favors the ground game. He could have his hands full against McDonald if he doesn’t adapt to the randomness of his moves, could be a real interesting fight.

Jared: Bean is quite small for a 155 though. This could very well be the reason why he’s not able to finish fights, even though he dominates.

155 - Conor McGregor v Joel Leone

Brett: McGregor has recently found himself a new manager to help out in his career. We can say it’s a good move, since it got him a contract with the LFC. He’s fought once since then and looked very good, getting a triangle submission in just over 30 seconds .That’s impressive. He can grapple and he can bang, it’s just a matter of finding the perfect strategy against an opponent, and that’s what the new management is for.

His opponent, Joel Leone, another LFC newcomer, is looking to keep a perfect record. Leone is a solid striker who finished all of his fights very early, so he will be looking to repeat that Saturday night. Expect him to start the fight aggressively and not give up much space by punching the hell out of his opponent.

Jared: McGregor and Leone is a very good matchup. I think they are very evenly skilled on their feet, so if they decide to stand and bang, that will be one hell of a treat for the fans.

155 - Didier Leroy v Vasili Zhirkov

Brett: For the co-main event of the evening, we’ll get to see another lightweight bout. Didier Leroy will be welcoming undefeated Vasili Zhirkov to the LFC. Leroy lost a decision at LFC 1 and was really disappointed about it. He told us he could have won that fight, he just wasn’t feeling too great, and had a bad training camp to prepare for the fight. He should be ready for this one, and get back to his winning ways, which he will need if he wants to climb the lightweight ladder.

Zhirkov has recently signed with the LFC, after going 5-0 in his MMA debut. He’s shown excellent skills on the ground already, and seems to be able to take his opponents down with quite some easy, making it easier to control and dominate his fights. A win at his LFC debut could probably make him a serious contender in the lightweight division, and would send a message to all other fighters of the division, that this guy means business.

Jared: Leroy seemed to want to grapple, judging by his last fights, so I doubt Zhirkov will have a hard time getting the fight to the ground. Thing is, I think Leroy really improved on the ground. He’s been focusing on that in the gym, so this could be interesting.

265 - Anderson Silva v Iwan Ochrymiuk

Brett: The main event of the evening, heavyweights that mean business! This is a fight where we could very well see the winner get a shot at the vacant title in the near future. I don’t want to start rumors, but I would lose to see that.

Anderson Silva has an impressive 5-0 record, winning his LFC debut a few weeks ago. He can strike, and he’s strong as a beef, so he will be a very dangerous opponent. We currently don’t know anything about his training camp, but I’m sure it went very well. One thing that could hurt him is the ground game, cause he’s still untested there, but if he fights the way he usually fights, it should be a no brainer that he’s getting the win.

On the other side of the cage will be the experienced, Iwan Ochrymiuk. Iwan has been training intensively at The Shit House in LA, and already has quite the fanbase in the LFC. Expect him to be the crowd favorite when he enters Wild Bob’s Saturday night, but he won’t have an easy time in the cage against Silva. Iwan could be the biggest threat to Silva yet, being a very skilled wrestler, but he will need to take control of the fight very early in the first round, or it could be good night for him.

Jared: I love those kind of fights. Heavyweights are unpredictable, and anything can happen. The fight can switch with just one move. The fan will go nuts on that one, so will I.

LFC 4 Aftermath

Tonight on MMA Hype, Jared Asante and Brett Clarke are with LFC owner, James Listerman, to talk about Saturday night’s LFC 4. We got to see a few familiar fighters, and it was nice to see all the determination inside the cage.

Here’s Jared and Brett, along with James Listerman.

-- -- --

Jared Asante: Good evening ladies and gentlemen! We are with LFC owner James Listerman, and LFC 4 just concluded, what a night of fights yet again. This is where you see the evolution of a fight org, despite being only at the 4th event, since we got to see more close fights. We can also say that LFC 4 was the night of grapplers, since we saw way more submissions than usual.

Brett Clarke: Indeed Jared, submissions were flying all over the place, and that’s always nice to see. We also got to see 16yo Joe Walker make his MMA debut. That’s history for the LFC, since we doubt we’ll see another fighter debut his pro career at that age, that’s just incredible.

James Listerman: Joe Walker impressed us all with an easy win too. He was able to show his all around game, which was quite nice to see.

Brett: Alright, let’s get down to business and announce the “of the night” awards.

Beginning with sub of the night, since the event was pretty much of submission fest. The award went to Vasili Zhirkov for his RNC sub over Didier Leroy.

James Listerman: I’m still confused about the whole Leroy gameplan after watching that fight. Leroy was clearly the best striker, but it’s like he wanted to show that he could beat his opponent’s strengths or something. It took Zhirkov a while to adapt to that gameplan, and he only started being comfortable off his back in the second round, that’s where he sunk the RNC after getting Leroy’s back from the mount.

Brett: Hats off to Zhirkov. He was able to stay calm and get the fight where he wanted. He showed that he was able to adapt, and that gave him a big W.

--

KO of the night went to Mario Lee, for his early stoppage against Johnny Kane.

James Listerman: Two fighters we love at the LFC, they are loyal and skilled, and are real troopers. Mario Lee came out on top in this one, landing a few punches early, defending takedowns, and then ended it with a nasty hook that dropped Kane. We will surely see more of Mario Lee in the near future, that win puts him at the top of the contender list for the middleweight belt. Don’t forget that name.

Brett: Still want to give props to Johnny Kane though. He fought on short notice and called for that fight. That’s the kind of fighter I love, they fight for the love of the sport.

--

Alright, fight of the night anybody? Had to go with Brodie McDonald vs Toga Bean for this one.

James Listerman: You’re absolutely right. I mean, despite McDonald dominate the majority of the fight, we saw a very dedicated Toga Bean who simply wouldn’t quit. He wanted the fight on the ground, but he just failed to keep the fight there and control long enough to put his skills to work. McDonald was well prepared for that fight and trained really hard in the gym to anticipate any takedowns from his opponent. With that, he was able to make his way to a decision win, making him 2-0 in the LFC.

Both fighters gave everything they had during that fight, and we thank them for that.

Brett: I would say that all fighters gave all they had tonight, LFC 4 was another great event to watch, and I’m glad to be part of this. The LFC keeps growing more and more, the roster is getting packed, and fighters are awesome. Good job to everyone, we will see you next event.

LFC 5 - The Underground debut

Tonight on MMA Hype, Jared Asante and Brett Clarke are exploring The Underground venue in Los Angeles, and are ready to preview LFC’s 5th official event. This will bring us close to championship fights, since we’re starting to get a well-established roster already.

Here’s Jared and Brett.

-- -- --

Jared Asante: Good evening ladies and gentlemen! After a well deserved week of vacation, we’re back just in time for LFC 5! We’re currently at The Underground in LA, which will be LFC’s first time in this beautiful venue. Yes, it was time to move the cage to a bigger place, since the fanbase is growing everyday!

Brett Clarke: It is indeed. The last couple events at Wild Bob’s were quite packed, so this just makes sense when you think about it.

LFC 5, this is where it starts to get more and more interesting, since we’re starting to see fighters trimming their way to a title fight. James Listerman already announced earlier that LFC 10 would be an ideal target for first championship fights, we just don’t know what divisions just yet.

Let’s get this preview started right away.

205 - John Chandler v Grimm Reaper

Brett: Even though these light heavyweights have yet to win a fight in their pro careers, expect Chandler and Reaper to give us a real nice show Saturday night.

John Chandler only spent 9 seconds in the cage, but has seen enough to understand that this is no amateur opponents. The LFC is for real, and he has to start taking this seriously.

Grimm Reaper will be a good opponent here, since he kinda mimicked Chandler’s fighting ways at his LFC debut, looking quite defenseless, but we’re hoping to see a different Reaper at LFC 5. His coaches seem to think he’s better prepared, and he’s way more confident this time around, so it shall be a better experience.

Jared: The funny thing about both those fighters is, none of them has thrown a strike or even tried anything yet in the cage, so we don’t even know if they have anything to show. All we know is that they’ve been saying they’re ready, and that they want to redeem themselves, to prove themselves worthy to the LFC.

205 - Yuriy Kuznetmedov v Josh Meyer

Brett: Alright, if you bought LFC 5 tickets and want to see dudes punches each other's face off? This is where you wish comes true.

With only 1 career fight, Kuznetmedov has still a lot to prove. Being the son of a KT legend, he’s already changed manager, since he didn’t click with the former, and has been training extremely hard for this fight, which is no different than what he’s use to, wanting to follow into his father’s footsteps.

Josh Meyer is considered to be the perfect matchup for Kuznetmedov, since he’s shown great striking abilities, and a really durable fighter at that. He can be quite unpredictable, throwing strikes from everywhere, punches, kicks, you name it. Fans will love to see him fight, and I’m sure he’ll quickly before a LFC favorite, since his aggressive style seems to be what people want.

Jared: Meyer is an incredible striker to be honest, but Kuznetmedov is one of a kind. I’m eager to see him in action, especially since he has a new manager. Nevertheless, a great striking battle in the works, no doubt about it.

185 - Neyman Gariniho v Nigel McGuinn

Brett: Brazilian Muay Thai specialist, Neyman Gariniho will be at his second LFC fight. We didn’t get the chance to see his true colors just yet, since he lasted just under a minute in the cage and wasn’t able to put his gameplan to work, but he’s getting a chance to redeem himself against LFC newcomer Nigel McGuinn.

McGuinn is a well rounded fighter. He’s shown good durability in his first pro fight, winning a weirdly scored split decision, but it was enough to prove that he can strike like a champ.

Jared: Win or lose, both those guys have a bright future, I can feel it. They come from well established managers, so you can expect them to fight with a specific and smart gameplan in mind.

205 - Alejandro Cervantes v Jimmy Decosta

Brett: We will get to see a familiar LFC fighter welcome a newcomer, as Jimmy Decosta faces Alejandro Cervantes. Decosta will be at his third pro fight, him who unfortunately lost his LFC debut. It’s clear that he’ll have a different gameplan come Saturday, but he’s been very mysterious about the whole thing. You can expect the boxer to come out really strong in the beginning of the first round, which would allow him to score early points, and perhaps an early finish.

Cervantes has an excellent wrestling background, which could be extremely lethal for his opponent. We’ve seen him grapple in the past, but we just don’t know yet how well he will transition to MMA. As a grappler, he can dominate you from any position, so if the fight goes to the ground, chances are he’ll be able to at least control the fight to a victory.

Jared: I usually favor fighters with experience, since they are not as nervous once they step in the cage. I’d say Decosta has that advantage going for him, but Cervantes didn’t look like the nervous type. Nevertheless, this is gonna be a battle for position.

185 - Tua Hohepa v Michail Vitokin

Brett: Any boxing fans around? I know a lot of LFC fans that will love watching this fight. Tua Hohepa, I’ve seen that guy spar, he’s fast, strong and accurate, pretty much everything you need, all in one fighter. On top of that, he’s one hell of a smart fighter, because he always seems to find the perfect gameplan to use against his opponents, which can make it really interesting. Don’t be fooled by his current 0-1 record, the kid can put on a show and can end anyone’s night in just seconds.

Michail Vitokin will sure have his hands full Saturday night. Vitokin will be at his first ever pro fight, which will most likely put some pressure on his shoulders. He’s been actively sparring all aspects of the game, since he doesn’t know what kind of strategy will be used against him, but from what we’ve seen of him at the gym, he’s ready for any situation. While he prefers to strike, grappling is an option he’s considered, if ever Hohepa decides to use that tool.

Jared: Why did you ask for boxing fans if this fight can easily hit the ground? I don’t think we’ll see a ground fight at all, I’m sure they will bust each other’s faces just to give the fans what they want.

205 - Vidarr Volundr v Nico Salas

Brett: When you talk about fighter who want to prove themselves and put on a show, these 2 are right in there. Vidarr Volundr recently gave TWGC a shot, but failed to get anywhere with it. He wanted to test his ground skills, but being a boxer first, this usually limits your ground swiftness in general. The LFC is giving him the chance to prove himself to be a solid MMA fighter, so this is where he’ll show us what he can do.

On the other side, we’ll see Nico Salas for the second time at the LFC. He came out strong at his debut, getting a TKO win in only 9 seconds, which puts him in LFC’s history book as the fastest finish ever. He’s got himself a good test Saturday night, since he’s facing an equally skilled striker, so it should be plenty of entertainment.

Jared: We didn’t get to see a lot of Salas at his LFC debut, but I’m sure this time around, he’ll get his training worth in that cage. Volundr is no joke and I doubt he goes that fast, that is if he goes down at all.

265 - Raivo Jaak v Marko Oconner

Brett: Young prospect Raivo Jaak will be making his pro debut on Saturday night. The 17 years old has been a popular subject of conversation between the LFC staff for the past few days, and everyone’s looking forward to see him finally enter the cage. Experts are going to study him real close, since he’s said to have a huge amount of potential already.

He’s facing a tough boxer in Marko Oconner. Oconner strategically won his pro debut by playing it safe, but smart, and took the decision victory by completely dominating his opponent. You don’t see a 30-25 decision often, that’s how good and dominant he was. We can easily guess that he will be coming stronger Saturday night, meaning he will hit hard and often, while keeping it smart.

Jared: I don’t even know who I’d put my money on for this fight. I mean, both fighters can bang, and at that weight, one punch can end a fight. Jaak being that young of a fighter, he’ll need to keep his stress level really low if he wants to compete at 100%. We know Oconner won’t feel much pressure, so he’s got that going for him.

185 - Tom Campbells v Paul Niche

Brett: Tom Campbells is 7 years the elder of Paul Niche. With that said, Campbells is going into that fight with a huge advantage, not only in experience, but will be physically better. He’s already shown his dominant he can be in his previous fight, his standup game seems to be flawless. One thing that is certain about Campbells is, he’s all about giving the fans what they want, and that is a good show with the occasional bloodied opponent.

Paul Niche didn’t put much of a fight at his LFC debut. The poor guy ended up flat on his back and wasn’t able to get anything going during the fight, failing pretty much all attempts at anything. He’s getting the perfect chance to redeem himself, and prove himself worthy to the LFC.

Jared: Niche has been having a really great training camp, I’ve heard he’s in a way better place than he used to be. Campbells sure is a tough matchup for him, cause he could easily use his age advantage to just dominate him from every single aspects of the game.

170 - Nikolai Nikolaiavic v Nikolay Nikolov

Brett: For the co-main event, we have the pleasure to see Nikolay Nikolov welcome LFC newcomer Nikolai Nikolaiavic. Holy shit that’s a lot of Niko. Nikolov already built himself a fanbase in the LFC, despite losing his debut a month ago. He’s hungry for a win and wants to put his name on the list of welterweight contenders, because he wants nothing more than wrap the LFC belt around his waist. I mean, 0-1 in the LFC, already a fan favorite, so all he needs is a couple wins and he’s easily in line for a championship fight.

Nikolaiavic will be at his pro fight ever, but he’s already a well accomplished wrestler. The 3 times national wrestling champion has transitioned himself to amateur boxing and everything’s been going well for him. He will have a lot to prove, since his arrogance and cockyness gave him an extra challenge, his fists will have to follow his mouth.

Jared: I can easily see why the fans enjoy Nikolov in the cage. He was 4-0 when he joined the LFC and will do anything to give the fans a good show. That’s what they want, entertainment. They pay for it, he delivers.

155 - Alex Taibo v Hiro Tanaka

Brett: I feel like we haven't seen a lightweight fight in a while, so here comes the main event! Lightweights that will bring speed and power to your Saturday night. Both fighters are undefeated and the winner will most likely have the privilege to fight for the vacant belt.

Alex Taibo was able to contradict experts, after they classified him as an inexperienced fighter. He quickly showed them that experience is not something you can base skills on. Taibo is a very skilled striker with a great BJJ background. He can fight wherever his opponent brings him, making him a versatile fighter and extremely well rounded, which explains his dominance.

Hiro Tanaka has always been the kind of fighter who wants to challenge himself. He won his LFC debut at welterweight, where he was clearly way too small for the weightclass, and then dropped to where he’s more comfortable. Tanaka is already considered to be the #1 lightweight in the LFC, despite not having a single fight yet in that division. He has the power to end the fight early, so expect a really good show between him and Taibo. Blood shall be spilled.

Jared: That’s pretty much a contender fight right there. There’s nothing official yet when it comes to championship fights, but we know one of these fighters will most likely hold the belt soon enough.

Nikolay Nikolov

"Coming up is the LFC five,

And thanks to me the Underground will be crowded as a bee-hive,

Last time I may have taken a beating from Tanaka,

But I still think that he is a punk motha%@!#,

My new opponent might have the same name,

But he is far from my chicks and fame!

Time to make it all transparent,

because I am sure that at this event,

the fake Niko would need a doctor to prevent

the damage that I will bring him as an early X-mass present.

Niko, the Kazakhstani Psycho,

compared to me you are as small as a Daewoo Tico.

Let LFC fans decide who is the real sick-o!"

LFC 6 - Early Contenders Preview

Tonight on MMA Hype, Jared Asante and Brett Clarke are discussing LFC’s next event, that will be held Saturday, November 12. A lot of important fights are happening during that event, since the main card is filled with potential future champions.

Here’s Jared and Brett.

-- -- --

Jared Asante: Good evening ladies and gentlemen! We’re live from our main office in Los Angeles, and we’re ready to give you an in-depth analysis on LFC 6. As you may already know, this is where the LFC finally starts to aim for championship fights, since we have a few top contenders going head to head Saturday night.

Brett Clarke: Exactly Jared. The 2 main events will most likely give us a top contender, so at the end of the night, we should be able to announce the first candidates for middleweight and light heavyweight. This is exciting news so let’s not waste too much time and go straight to the analysis of the event.

265 - Antomio Piqueras v Muhammad Bello

Brett: First fight of the undercard will headline newcomer Antomio Piqueras against Muhammad Bello. Bello is looking to add sparks to his fighting career, him who’s lost his last 2 fights via cuts. He’s been quite unfortunate to say the least, since he’s one hell of a tough guy, but he seems to open up and bleed way too much. If he can manage to avoid getting punched too much, and avoid bleeding all over the place, we should be able to see how talented he is.

Piqueras will be looking to start his career on a positive note. The 22 years old wrestler has been spending his entire training camp sparring and working out without coaches, so we’re not sure how prepared he will be for that fight. We’ve seen his skills during sparring, and he sure looks like he knows what he’s doing, but experience could play a major role Saturday night.

Jared: Even though Piqueras is at his first pro fight, I don’t think it will affect him much. I mean, he’s facing a Bello that wants to revive his career and wants to win at all cost, but I doubt that stops his LFC debut.

155 - Jeremy Heathen v Randolph Coleman

Brett: Boxing versus wrestling, this is my favorite kind of matchup. It’s a matter of who can keep the fight where he excels, so the smarter fighter usually gets it. Jeremy Heathen wants to get his first LFC win badly. He was unlucky at LFC 3 when he got knocked out early, but he’s learned from that and he’s been working extremely hard in the gym to hide any weaknesses of his. He’s a very talented boxer, and he wants to show the LFC staff that he can beat whoever is put in front of him.

Randolph Coleman, also looking for his first LFC victory, will have to use his superior wrestling at his advantage if he wants the fight to go in his favor. We all know he’s no match for his opponent on the feet, but if he does get the fight to the ground, it could end the fight real quick. He’s failed to do so at his LFC debut, but he switches his gameplan around, and his training camp has been going real good.

Jared: I still can’t believe Heathen is 0-2 in his pro career. The guy can fight, we’ve seen his amateur fights, 2-0 and looking really great. He looks better this time around though, Coleman will have his hands full and hopefully will be ready to take a few punches on the chin before he even gets the chance for a takedown.

265 - Manzini Nsoko v David Wilson

Brett: The pattern continues. These 2 fighters are both looking to fix their pro career by winning, which wasn’t an issue during their amateur fights.

Manzini Nsoko is no stranger to the LFC, him who fought as LFC 3’s main event. He was a fan favorite, but fell quickly, just under 30 seconds. He’s looking to get back on track and get himself a winning streak, because he knows he’s got the skills to be a contender. Whether it’s standing or on the ground, he’s talented either way, and that’s what’s scary about him.

On the other side of the cage will be David Wilson, a small heavyweight who’s also looking to start a winning streak. Talent is not what he lacks, since he’s a very well rounded fighter, he just needs to adjust a little better for the big leagues. He could join a better gym, which would help a lot, but he’s conditionally ready for the fight already.

Jared: Wilson doesn’t seem to be working too hard at the gym. Not even sure he shows up to be honest. That could be where Nsoko could capitalize, since he should be physically better on fight night.

265 - Chris Runt v Marco Buhler

Brett: Interesting heavyweight boxing matchup right here. Chris Runt will make Marco Buhler look like a dwarf, being 35 pounds bigger, and 7 cm taller. Runt has had striking success at his last amateur fight, knocking out a more experienced fighter and good boxer, but he’ll need to adjust his gameplan on Saturday night. He’ll need a lot of endurance to counter the barrage of strikes Buhler can throw, and he will sure have to use his size advantage to his favor.

Marco Buhler looked quite bad at his amateur debut. We didn’t understand what kind of gameplan he used, him who tried to takedown his opponent on a couple occasions, but we’ve seen him at an open workout earlier this week, he’s ready for this one. He’s taking this LFC opportunity really seriously and he wants to show the world that size doesn’t matter. He’s a heavy hitting dude, so you can expect him to come out strong early in the first round and try to end his opponent’s night as quick as possible.

Jared: This fight will have a feel of “David vs Goliath”, since the size difference seems to be quite obvious. Thing is, my wife keeps telling me that size doesn’t matter, so I want to believe that it won’t be a factor in this fight.

265 - Ty Sinclair v Malcolm Blackman

Brett: Another fight that should be an excellent striking battle. Ty Sinclair had a so-so amateur run before joining the LFC. Being 2-3, he’s never made it past the first round, so if keeps that pattern, I’d say he’ll be in another quick fight Saturday night. He’s been away from the gym scene for a few days, but that’s simple recovery, since he’s more than ready to bang with his opponent.

Speaking of, Malcolm Blackman wants to finally get his career going and get a win in his record. He’s had a rough start, but he’s looking better and better in the gym everyday. His LFC debut didn’t go as planned, but he’s taking this as a learning experience and wants to start climbing the heavyweight ladder sooner than later.

Jared: Both fighters need a win, since they need to get something going. One thing is certain in my mind, this is going to be one hell of a fight. I think first round makes sense, and someone is getting KOed.

185 - Jay Jims v Tony Adams

Brett: Alright, this matchup, on paper, is perfectly even with the exception that Jims is 18cm taller. Yes, it’s a big difference, but it could only be a disadvantage for him, since both fighters are pure wrestlers. A short fighter can usually take advantage on an opponent’s long limbs, but we’ll see Saturday.

Jay Jims sure is tall, but he’s had quite the weird career debut, being 0-0-1. While his fight was weirdly judged, he’s shown great abilities on the ground, being able to land takedowns and controlling quite efficiently. On top of that, he’s got really good conditioning, so he can fight for days in the cage.

His opponent, Tony Adams, is coming off an amateur tournament, where he lost in the second round against a BJJ wizard. Adams doesn’t much to show in the standing aspect of the game, but since he’s going another wrestler, this is where he should excel. He’ll need to prove that he’s the superior fighter if he wants to show the LFC he means business.

Jared: It will probably be a tough one to judge if it goes to a decision. Both of them will want to finish the fight, cause I doubt anyone finds a way to dominate this fight. Whoever gets the better chances will score more points or finish it up, I know I wouldn’t want to be a judge for this one.

205 - Hero Galanos v Chet Stedman

Brett: Undefeated light heavyweights going at one another in this matchup. Another fight that should very well be a grappling one. Both fighters are 2-0, with quick submission wins.

Hero Galanos is looking to extend his perfect record, but he won’t have it easy Saturday night. The Convicted fighter has been training really hard for the past couple months, and it’s showing during his sparring and in the cage. While he doesn’t have the best striking in the league, his ground game is one of a kind, being able to control and submit his opponents with top notch techniques. He’s no doubt a rising star in the LFC, and a big threat to the whole Light Heavyweight division. Keep an eye on this guy, he could very well challenge for the title sooner than later.

When you talk about a tough opponent, here comes Chet Stedman. Stedman is well rounded fighter, being excellent on the ground and in other life activities. In previous interviews, he opened up, admitting he was a big fan of gardening, and that plants were all over his apartment. Funny thing is, he was telling us all about it while moonwalking. What a character. Nevertheless, he’s got the ground skill to end anyone’s night, and he’s done it twice already, with only 67 seconds total in the cage. That’s impressive.

Jared: It is indeed impressive, but he seems to be having more fun outside of the cage. He’s not having a serious training camp, and it shows, since his gym isn’t top quality right now. If you compare Stedman’s camp to Galanos’, it’s a huge difference, so I have to give the edge to Galanos here. He’s taking the fight way more seriously.

265 - Chris Johnson v Temujin Borjigin

Brett: Bring me a couple of heavyweights for a quick KO! Chris Johnson is one of the shortest heavyweight in the industry. Despite his size, he packs a lot of power and likes to ground and pound ala Brock Lesnar. He can get a quick takedown, then land a couple punches to get himself in a perfect position to land more and end anyone’s night. He will need the perfect gameplan to come out on top though, he’s facing no ordinary man.

Temujin Borjigin only has 1 fight to his repertoire, but it’s enough to say that he’s not one to mess with. He can dominate you from anywhere, especially the clinch, where he seems to just enjoy himself and man handle anyone. He’s coming from the Wolf’s Lair, which is a popular place full of true champions. Having such a background will surely help him come up with the perfect strategies for this matchup.

Jared: This fight will dictate itself in the first 10 seconds of the fight. If Johnson does what he does best, that is get a quick takedown, he should be able to win within a minute or so, but on the other hand, could only take Borjigin a few seconds to connect a couple times and get the fight to his favor.

205 - Shoma Tanaka v Yavor Stanchev

Brett: Get your popcorn ready, this co-main event will be quite the entertainment! A contender fight, for the light heavyweight division, has the potential to be fight of the night.

Shoma Tanaka, despite a weird training camp that has been draining his morale quite a bit, is known as someone who has a tremendous work ethic. His LFC debut was quite entertaining, raining punches from everywhere until his opponent pretty much dropped unconscious. He will be looking to apply the same type of gameplan, at least a think, which is an aggressive style with accurate punches.

His opponent, Yavor Stanchev, has already proven to be a top contender for the division. He’s 100% ready for this matchup, and knows it’s just another opponent before he gets that shot at the title. He’s shown good striking abilities in the past, and his LFC debut was a complete domination of his opponent, which was enough for a fight of the night award. He will come out strong, and will most likely have his mouth running to play with his opponent’s head, since he seems to enjoy the trash talk.

Jared: We saw a matchup between fighters of those opposing camps before. I think this gives Stanchev a better reason to get a win here, since his good buddy lost that previous fight. I think Stanchev will make himself a ton of fans on Saturday night, I expect nothing less.

185 - Nick Tuke v Mario Lee

Brett: The main event of the evening! Challengers for the vacant middleweight title, and a huge threat to the fight of the night award. These guys already have their own fanbase all around the world, and the LFC fans are thriving for that matchup.

Nick Tuke already has a 5-1 record, all wins via first round KO. He’s an entertaining beast and I can’t wait to finally see him fighting for the LFC. Once he steps in the cage, you’re going to hear the crowd chant his name, that’s just how popular he already is, despite being his first official LFC fight. We paid Tuke a visit in the gym last week, and we saw a sparring session of his, I have to said, I wouldn’t want to spar against him, he’s strong as a beef and doesn’t seem to go easy at all.

Mario Lee, already fought twice for the LFC, so this guy is quite familiar. The LFC fans love him, cause he delivers. 3-0, with all wins via strikes in the first round. He even won KO of the night during his last LFC performance, this shows how entertaining he can be, and why the fans are all over that guy. Lee has what it takes to be a top contender, maybe even a champion, since he’s got the heart to outlast any opponent, and the power to end anyone’s night, so watch out for that guy.

Jared: Have to say, this is a very even matchup. Both are KO kings really, but I’m not even sure a quick KO will be the outcome of this fight. I have a feeling that they will have to tire each other out and get a good feel of each others before they can throw the hail mary. Whatever happens, this is a fight where all fans will be at the edge of their seats during the whole fight. Looking forward to it!

Yavor "Perfectionist" Stanchev

"My bro Nikolov likes to spend more time on rhymes than fight preparation, this is why we call him Emcee in our camp. Unlike him, I always give one hundred in every session, in every fight and this is where my nickname comes from. Well, you can as well call me Exterminator, because this is exactly what is coming for Tanaka. I am ready, I know his every move, I know his every meal for the past two months. I am not that good with words as my man Emcee, but I let my fists speak. Tanaka, I feel sorry for you, having to face such an exceptional athlete like me. You are standing on my path to the belt and you will be removed in the most unpleasant and morbid way."

LFC 7 - Midweek Brawl

Tonight on MMA Hype, Jared Asante and Brett Clarke are live at the Underground in LA to analyze LFC’s first Midweek event. Due to the fast growing roster, LFC’s owner had no other choice than to start planning more events in order to keep fights rolling at a faster rate.

Here’s Jared and Brett.

-- -- --

Jared Asante: Good evening ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to another edition of MMA Hype. We’ve been working really hard during the past week due to the multiple LFC events that are happening quite often, so let’s go straight to Brett with his analysis of LFC 7’s main card.

Brett: Thanks Jared. Indeed, it’s been really busy for us at MMA Hype, but we enjoy every part of it, we get to see a lot of rising star step in the cage and we’re never disappointed. LFC 7 has had less hype compared to other events, but nevertheless, it’s filled with future stars.

Here’s what the undercard looks like:

Undercard:

265 lbs - Nick Taylor v Rocco Marciano

135 lbs - Ace Rob v Hideyoshi Kanemaru

145 lbs - Big Kass v Sunny Nganam

265 lbs - Ruslan Magomedov v John Gacy

170 lbs - Srey Samorn v Raymond Richards

Brett: Our limited time unfortunately restricts us from going in depth with the undercard, so let’s go straight to the main card.

170 - Sic Vicious v Rico Dimelo

Brett: A welterweight bout that will have the striking fans on the edge of their seats. Sic Vicious has been really serious regarding his nickname “One Punch”, and has delivered at least in his amateur career. Making his pro debut, he’s getting the chance to prove it once more, that his hands of stone will be what makes the difference as soon as he steps in the cage. He hits like no other welterweights, so we want to see him grow in the division, fingers crossed that he gets a good run, cause he certainly has the potential to be something big.

Rico Dimelo will need really good feet and head movement to at least avoid damage in this bout. Dimelo is the youngest brother of 3 MMA fighters already training hard to become superstars. The LFC is still negotiating a long term contract with him, still no words on how all that is going.

Jared: Like you already stated, Sic Vicious is taking his nickname seriously. “One Punch” has destroyed a really skilled boxer at his amateur debut, and when I rewatched that fight, there’s no doubt about the power he packs in those hands. Looking forward to see him perform under the LFC.

155 - Full Eye Yong v Vik Vader

Brett: Sit tight for this one, these lightweights will put on a show. Full Eye Yong fought 6 times amateur in just a month time, and has an impressive 5-1 record at that. 5 wins in a row, he’s already generating a lot of interest in the LFC as a top contender for the vacant belt. Yong is still very young, but has already proven that he’s ready for the big leagues, since he went against fighter of all ages already. Power, toughness and conditioning, that’s probably the 3 best words to describe this fighter.

His opponent will be by far his biggest challenge. Vik Vader is no joke, and this guy can come up with the smartest and greatest gameplans to outskill anyone. While he’s coming from a great wrestling background, Vader has shown skills in all aspects of MMA already, being able to strike like no one else, and of course, grappling is always the key of his game. While he always keeps his opponents guessing, what I like about this guy is, what gameplan is he going to come up with.

Jared: This is going to be a good brawl, I expect nothing less. They both can bang despite their size, it will just be a matter of who takes control of the fight early on.

135 - Bongo Drum v Dong Hyun Choi

Brett: The first ever 135 fight as a main card in the LFC. Any of these guys could very well be the first 135 LFC fighter in the near future.

Bongo Drum is coming from a good run at the TWGC 13 tournament. He made the transition right away to MMA, going 2-0 as an amateur, and says that he’s now ready for tough competition as a full MMA fighter. Drum is a dangerous grappler, being able to take his opponents down and work aggressively to get a submission. What helps him as a MMA fighter is that he can actually take a punch compared to most BJJ fighters around.

There’s no doubt in my mind that Dong Hyun Choi will have to take control of this fight as fast as he can with his superior boxing, because if he fails to do so, he could quickly be dominated on the ground. Choi lost in the final of an amateur tourney against a pure BJJ fighter, so this could very well be his achilles heel. He’s shown great power for a 135 fighter, having a record of 3-1 with 3 TKO victories, so you know he can finish this fight quick, if of course, he can prevent being taken down.

Jared: It’s a typical striker vs grappler matchup that I enjoy watching. They were both part of tournaments before signing to the LFC, so they can handle the pressure, so hopefully we have a really exciting fight. It could potentially be either KO or sub of the night.

170 - Khabib Nurmagomedov v Dick Jawbreak

Brett: Co-main event, bring on the skilled welterweights! I could be wrong, but we could be in for a grappling treat right here.

Despite being at his first pro fight, Nurmagomedov has a really good wrestling background, with good enough striking skills to be able to mix things up and get a solid takedown. He’s getting a tough matchup to start his young career, but any future champ is able to surpass any opponent. Win or lose, he could easily be a future welterweight champion under the LFC banner, so keep a close watch on this guy.

The tough matchup I’m talking about is Dick Jawbreak. Excellent BJJ fighter, who’s already showing a 3-0 record with 3 submission wins. We saw him at LFC 4 where he outskilled an excellent grappled, and he showed that he can be the best fighter in about any circumstances. Jawbreak still has a lot to prove since he’s still a young fighter, but the outcome of this bout should say a lot about his character. If he does win, I think he’ll be considered a top welterweight contender. Looking forward to see this fight.

Jared: The big question of this matchup is, who will get the takedown? Whoever gets it first should be able to be smart enough to control and at least score points for the judges, but I doubt it goes the distance.

155 - Eli Barkio v Enzo Dimelo

Brett: We’ve got quite the unusual main event here, but it’s all about the hype! We have 2 fighters who will be at their pro debut, but have been the subject of conversation for a while, since they’ve got skills and potential to develop into crazy superstars.

Enzo Dimelo is fighting on the same card as his brother, and will be looking to impress the whole family, as he’ll do for the LFC. Coming from a good wrestling family, Dimelo has impressed us a lot in the gym when he started doing full contact sparring. It seems he’s stopped using his offensive wrestling and transitioning more into a pure striker.

He’s jumping in the cage against dangerous Eli Barkio, who’s boxing has been rated as top of the line. Barkio wants to fight with the best of the division, so this is just a preview of what’s in stock for him. He’s a beast in the gym, being extremely strong for a guy of his size, and his sparring has impressed me, at least from what I’ve seen. I always like to visit gyms of fighters with a lot of potential, just to see their work ethics, and Barkio is one of a kind. I expect nothing less but hard work and total domination from him.

Jared: I agree with you on this. Barkio should be dominant in this matchup, but you can’t count Dimelo out just yet. There is a gap between the 2, but Dimelo has a lot of heart, this could be key in this matchup.

LFC 8 - Aftermath

Tonight on MMA Hype, Jared Asante and Brett Clarke are backstage at The Underground in Los Angeles, to discuss the highlights of LFC 8 that just ended in a brilliant fashion.

Here’s Jared and Brett.

-- -- --

Jared Asante: Good evening ladies and gentlemen! We are right here, backstage with the fighters of LFC 8, well, mainly the winners, since some of the losing fighters are already gone to get checked for injuries. It’s pretty loud here right now, hope you guys can hear us just fine.

Brett Clarke: Thank you Jared, I know I’m fine, but you didn’t have to say that out loud.

Jared: No, that’s not what I … meh, nevermind, let’s just head out to the back so we can actually hear each other speaking.

Brett: Right, this is better. Hello everyone, LFC 8 just ended, and we’re very excited. There was a few upsets tonight's, most fighters brought their A game and this was yet another great and successful event for the LFC. Owner James Listerman was with us earlier, and he’s extremely pumped about the turn of events. Starting next event, the first ever LFC title will be on the line, and that’s great news for the fighters and also the fans.

Jared: And tonight, we have 2 more contenders that are getting shots at their next fights, correct?

Brett: Exactly. Tonight was featured 2 main events, 155 and 265 contenders. Lightweight Joel Leone went against Vasili Zhirkov, and heavyweight Jonny Ferrara against Anderson Silva.

Let’s talk about the 155 fight:

Undefeated boxer Joel Leone was all hype before going into the fight, he trained really hard, some would say maybe too hard, since he came into the fight a little tired to say the least. He was able to land a few strikes within the first minute, but Vasili Zhirkov was just too much for him, landed a takedown and outgrappled Leone into a quick RNC submission. This win from Zhirkov puts him at the top of the lightweight division, improving his record to 7-0 and getting a title shot on top of that.

We saw a really disappointed Leone after the fight, but he looked like he wanted to take the loss as a learning experience and go back to the gym to train even harder for the next one.

Jared: Not gonna say I’m surprised of the outcome, but when the fight started and I saw Leone’s confidence and then he started landed punches, I thought the fight was gonna go his way. Zhirkov really showed class and proved he has what it takes to become a champion, so looking forward to see him fight for the vacant belt.

Brett: The other main event, heavyweights Anderson Silva and Jonny Ferrara going at one another. Silva had an impressive 6-0 record prior to the fight, all wins via early stoppage so he was aiming to keep that streak intact. Ferrara had shown tremendous power and dominance, on the ground that is, and was 5-0 with all early stoppages, all in the first round to be more specific. One of those streaks had to come to an end, and we saw Silva end that streak for Ferrara in only 10 seconds of fighting.

This bout showed us how important energy is in a fight. You have to be prepared at 100% before stepping into the cage, so you can’t get in there all tired, that’s what Ferrara will forever regret. Silva saw that from a mile away and pretty much ran across the cage, landed a couple punches and that’s all the ref had to see, he saved Ferrara from more punishment because he was clearly out already.

Anderson Silva is now the #1 heavyweight, and will get a shot at the vacant title.

Jared: That was a crazy night of fights for sure. With all the drama we’ve seen in the past few days, that included a few LFC fighters, it was nice to see that everything stayed put and it didn’t affect any fighters at all. They gave the fans a great show again tonight, and we’re thankful for that.

LFC 9 - Welterweight Championship

Tonight on MMA Hype, Jared Asante and Brett Clarke are discussing LFC 9 that is bound to go down Saturday November 26th. This by far the biggest event the LFC has seen yet, and it will also mark the last event held at the Underground in LA. The LFC is already moving to a bigger stage, things are going great!

Here’s Jared and Brett.

-- -- --

Jared Asante: Good evening ladies and gentlemen! Last time for us here at The Underground in LA, and we’re going with a big ass bang, since we get to see the first event title to be distributed by the LFC, the welterweight championship is finally happening! Nikolay Nikolov will battle Tomy Faspred, and the winner will be making history.

Brett Clarke: That’s right Jared, what’s great about this championship fight, is that we get to see 2 fighters that were with the LFC since day 1, and we get to see them battling each other for that oh so shiny belt. The fans are thriving and this will be the biggest event yet, you can’t miss this. Both fighters have a big fanbase within the LFC, so the building is going to be shaking when they step into the cage.

Tonight, we’ll be focusing on the main card of the event, so here’s who’s fighting in the undercard:

170 lbs - Brodie Nickoson v Oleg Korolyov

185 lbs - Patrick Kingsbury v Sir Anthony Buzzard

265 lbs - Owen Carron v Aleksandr Emelianenko

135 lbs - Daley McReynolds v Come At Me Bro

265 lbs - John Gacy v Muhammad Bello

We would love to spend more time doing this is analyzing all undercard fights, but unfortunately, time is tight, so let’s head directly to the main card.

145 lbs - Joe Quinn v Gerardo Pacheco

Brett: Starting the main card will showcase 2 excellent strikers. Size won’t matter much here, because those guys hit as hard as any. Joe Quinn started his amateur career a bit unprepared, and lost to a submission, but has since improved all aspects of his game, and he’s now ready for the big leagues. Quinn has a wonderful boxing background, which is quite easy to spot at the gym, but he improved his grappling by a large margin since his last appearance in a cage.

Gerardo Pacheco is coming over from an inactive org in New York, so this will be his “welcome to the LFC” bout. He’s shown tremendous talent in the previous org, racking up a record of 2-0-1 and he’s quite the powerful 145er. Coming into MMA with a great wrestling background, he quickly transitioned his game to standup, and has since used his wrestling as a defensive tool, which has worked perfectly for him since.

Jared: These 145er will be extremely fun to watch since they are as fast as they are powerful. We’ve seen Pacheco fight before in New York, and we know the fans are going to love him at the LFC. He’s far from boring, and Quinn has been known to give out quite the show on his end, so this will be one hell of a fight.

265 lbs - Richard Ramirez v Viktor Storgaard

Brett: Here’s a fight that could be one-sided, we just don’t know who’s going to be on the dominant end. Classic striker vs grappler, the question is, where will those fighters spend the majority of the fight.

Richard Ramirez is currently 2-0, looking to extend his perfect record tonight and will have to execute the perfect gameplan to do so. His wrestling has been perfect in his previous fights, with a takedown accuracy of 100%, you can’t ask for better than that. What else is perfect with his stats? 100% of ground strikes landed, now that’s one hell of a smart wrestler. He doesn’t waste energy despite doing crazy damage on the ground, this kid is going somewhere.

His opponent, Viktor Storgaard, has an unknown future with the LFC. He fought once, but went back to amateur fighting afterwards, and is now back here, but the contract negotiation wasn’t really great. Despite an unknown future, he’s been working extremely hard in the gym, and he knows Ramirez will grapple the shit out of him. Being a skilled striker though, Storgaard may be able to get something going early in the fight and be the dominant one.

Jared: Those striker/grappler matchups are always really hard to analyze, since you pretty much have to take a guess when it comes to who will dominate. I think Ramirez is a rising star and we’ll see a lot of him, but Storgaard is one hell of an unpredictable dude.

135 lbs - Bongo Drum v Mike Charles

Brett: We’re in for a treat here. Grappling fans, this is the bout you want to watch, and I suggest you not to blink, because those 135er are fast and will probably move a lot on the ground to gain the dominant position. Neither of these guys have much striking experience, so you know this fight will be whoever gets the first takedown. They also both participated at this year’s TWGC and made it to the 1st round of the finals.

We’ve seen Bongo Drum before, as one of the first ever 135er to compete in the LFC. He’s a strong wrestler with an excellent BJJ background, and boy is he small. He will be 25cm shorter than his opponent, so he will be hard as **** to control on the ground. It’s like fighting a cockroach, not easy to manipulate.

Mike Charles has the exact same record as Drum, but hasn’t seen much action in the pro environment. Charles is the younger fighter, but we doubt that experience gap will do any bad to his performance. He usually plays the game “submit or be submitted”, so I doubt this fight goes the distance.

Jared: I’d also say that this fight could easily be fight or submission of the night, depends on the outcome I guess. No matter what happens, the grappling fans will be sitting at the edge of their seats, and it will be loud.

135 lbs - Anton Guzan v Nadaris Son

Brett: Another 135er bout, this time, strikers! This is a perfect matchup, and should result in a crazy ass fun one to watch. Both fighters won all their fights via stoppage in the first round, those guys hit like heavyweights!

Anton Guzan has a 4-1 amateur record, and he comes to you like a train with no brakes. He hits hard and fast, which explains his wins via early stoppage. Training out of a worn gym has its downside, but he seems to do well under those circumstances. He trains hard and he’s ready for that fight. Being the co-main event, he knows he has to perform at his best to get himself a lot of LFC fans on his side. I doubt he will disappoint.

He’s facing a similar opponent in Nadaris Son. Being also a fast and powerful striker, Son seems to follow his opponent’s footsteps, by racking up quick wins and improving in every fight. His goal is clear as river water, he wants to climb the ladder and become the LFC champ. The step from amateur to pro won’t be easy, but pressure is always something he can handle.

Jared: Only thing I can add is “Timber!”, cause clearly, one of them will get knocked out, and by their records, most likely in the first round.

http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/belt/20160911114812Belt.jpg 170 lbs - Nikolay Nikolov v Tomy Faspred

Brett: The main event of the evening! The vacant Welterweight belt will finally make its way to someone’s home, look at that beautiful golden thing. Get ready for this fight, because you don’t want to miss a second, this is the first ever championship fight of the LFC, history will be made.

Nikolay Nikolov has built himself one hell of a huge fanbase amongst the LFC. Despite losing once in something we can call a “superfight”, Nikolov has shown great character by keeping his head held high, which made him the #1 170 fighter on the roster. This title shot is not a surprise, and he wants to bring home the gold because he knows he deserves nothing less. He’s an aggressive striker, and that’s what the fans want, no wonder they like him that much.

He will be facing #2 welterweight, Tomy Faspred, who’s been quite the fighter himself since signing with the LFC. This is his 3rd straight fight as the main event, so he’s known to the public. What’s impressive about Faspred is that he’s one crazy good fighter, well rounded, so he can basically dominate from anywhere. He has a great boxing background, along with a purple BJJ belt, so this guy means business. He’s got a few friends who had title shot themselves, so he’s been preparing both mental and physical aspects of the fight, which will be really important once he steps in the cage.

Jared: This is going to be nuts man, the crowd is going to be loud! Last event at The Underground, plus, first ever LFC title fight, can’t ask for better. This is the way to conclude a great LFC run at this location, moving on the bigger things starting tomorrow. Hope you enjoy the event, I’m ready to see it all begin!
