Gregory "Robo Cop" Rodriguez

Gregory Felipe Santos Rodriguez is a Brazilian mixed martial artist who competes in the Lightweight division of Wolves Fighting Championship.

He makes his Profesional Debut against Harry Johnson on August 13th.

Gregory grew up in the slums of Brazil, frequently getting into street fights & training at a BJJ gym on weekends.

His life forever changed at 10 years old when his parents came into money and moved to New York City. Gregory became a top D1 wrestler at Ohio State University before transitioning into MMA at the age of 18.

Two debuting fighters begin their careers at WFC1's debut prelim in the Featherweight Division. The fighters are 1 rank apart in their weight class rankings, and appear to have complimentary skills. Momofuku Ando, a muay thai and BJJ fighter, will be looking to stop his opponent, Noel Marcos, who is a boxing expert.

The second fight will see middleweight scrapper Chris Maurelli face off against BJJ player Liam Bactya in a classic striker vs grappler match up. Both fighters are debuting and will be looking to claim the first win of their careers.

We then move to the Bantamweight division where wrestler Vicent Edwards will fight BJJ fighter Fransisco Bustamante in a good match up between two evenly matched competitors. Both fighters are not just skilled in the ground game, but also on the feet, with good boxing skills. This one could produce fireworks.

Closing out the prelims is a Welterweight bout containing Larry Lewandowski and Lala Payash. Both fighters have good muay thai and wrestling, which should hopefully provide a great match up for the fans.

The first main card fight of WFC1 is a match up between Scott Arfield and Paulo Silva in the Featherweight division. It would appear that Arfield has the edge on striking, while Silva has the grappling nous to win.

The battle of the Marcelos is next with BJJ Brown belt Marcelo Silva taking on Boxer Marcelo Molina in the Bantamweight division. Both fighters are making their debut.

Following that, Welterweight contenders Rocky Strong and Islam Aliyev will do battle. Strong, a boxer, will be looking to stop Aliyev, who has good muay thai and wrestling. There have been some rumours regarding a poor weight cut for Aliyev, which will skew the odds in favour of Strong.

The Co-Main event will see two grapplers get it on, in a fight that could easily have been seen on the WFCG card. This lightweight bout sees two strong wrestlers with BJJ backgrounds fight, and although both have poor striking, one would assume that neither man wants to lay in the others' dangerous guard. Gregory Rodriguez will be looking to start his career with a win while his counterpart, Harry Johnson is looking to do the same.

The main event sees wrestler Andrei Baltareu take on boxer Mohamed Ballo, in the Middleweight division. This one will all depend on if Baltareu can get, and keep Ballo on the ground. Else, it could get very messy for the Romanian wrestler.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Gregory Rodriguez!

Gregory took to Buzz after his win and this to say "WFC1 in the books with Wolves Fighting Championship. glad to get the victory, no major injuries. He was tougher to finish than I was expecting so major props to Harry Johnson"

The second event hosted by Wolves Fighting Championship will kick off with a light-heavyweight bout between versatile Brayden Green (1-2) and boxer Charlie Simmer (0-0). If Green can take and hold Simmer down, it could be a long evening for Simmer.

Next up is Cristian Alvarez (3-3) fighting Yannick Diomande (0-0), in the Bantamweight division. This one looks to be a straightforward grappler versus striker matchup.

In the welterweight division, Ridley Scott (0-1) will face Darwin Underwood (0-0). This fight looks very even, with both fighters sharing a similar skill set. Underwood will have a good reach advantage and using this to its full potential will be key for him.

Moving on to the lightweight division, Ty Little (0-0) will look to open his career with a win against the also debuting Nick Mullen (0-0). Little has the boxing prowess, while Mullen has a skill advantage in the wrestling and BJJ.

An interesting match-up in the Featherweight division follows, Tommy Bennett (0-0) will take Alex Bactya (1-0) on. Bennett will have a boxing advantage, while Bactya has shown strong wrestling and  BJJ skills.

Returning to the welterweight division, Pakastani fighter Lala Payash (1-0) will fight Chechen scrapper Islam Aliyev (1-0). These two fighters are remarkably well matched, and could be a real firefight.

In the co-main event at Middleweight Eomer Greydorian (2-1) is fighting Apollo Rocky (5-2) in which it appears Rocky has the overall advantage in both skills and experience but this is MMA, and Greydorian will be looking to make his name off a win over Rocky here.

The main event features another fight at Middleweight, as Sugawara Ichirou (6-2) will look to extend his record against Victor Edwards (1-0), who will be up against it to get a result. Anything can happen in the cage though, and this fight will conclude WFC’s second ever event.

Writer’s fight to watch: I fancy Payash and Aliyev to produce a sparkling contest. I could make a case for either fighter to win, but I can’t separate them, so I’ll go for a second round finish… from either man!

WFC 10: Mercenary vs. Lardy

10/15/2022 live from Hayashi’s Lounge, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

WHAT’S UP YOU CRAZY VIOLENCE LOVERS?! I’m Frankie “Mister K.O” Griggs! This weekend we have a STACKED Wolves card for bloodthirsty fight fans around the world, and this shit will be live for fight fans that can’t make it to the fight capital of the world! Stacked prelims full of hungry prospects, LIVE on Buzz Live for fight fans to enjoy at home; as well as a STACKED Main Card with TWO title fights for fans at home which will be streamed on Buzz Live immediately after our STACKED preliminary card! Let’s look at this incredibly heated card, and I’ll give my predictions to each bout!

Prelims:

Bout 1:

Miman Jamari (0-1 MMA, 0-0 WFC) v Callum Cartwright (1-3 MMA, 0-0 WFC)

First fight of the night is a Heavyweight clash between two prospects who are looking for their first win in Wolves and looking to get into the win column in general.

Starting off, we have Heavyweight prospect Miman Jamari. Jamari made his debut at Sucker Punch Pro Series 147, losing a unanimous decision to Sour Diesel, who may I add is no slouch and is currently smashing heads in Heartless’ Heavyweight division. Jamari has been in the gym training his ass off ever since. Jamari has leaked training footage since his loss in May, and he’s looking incredible. As of recent he’s been looking hungry, looking to put a finish to his bout with Cartwright and score himself his first win.

However, Callum Cartwright is no slouch, and is just as hungry as Jamari. Cartwright made his debut at TUF Trails 6, losing a special 1 round bout to Eddie Miller via unanimous decision; he decided to officially start his career with a lackluster QFC career that saw him lose 2 bouts via submission, and winning one against Gordon Hurst via a last second TKO in the second round. Cartwright, unlike Jamari, has chose to stay active instead of taking time off to train extensively, choosing his fight camps to be his method of becoming better. Cartwright is coming into his WFC debut, hungry and determined for his first Wolves win and his second professional win.

Frankie’s Prediction: Jamari via 1st round TKO

Bout 2:

#3 Ben Licht (2-1 MMA, 1-1 WFC) v Ridley Scott (1-2 MMA, 1-1 WFC)

Next up on the preliminary card is a Welterweight clash between two prospects looking to break into contention, with one looking to stamp a top 5 rank to his name.

First, in the red corner, is former title challenger Ben Licht. Licht is coming into this bout, fresh off a loss to current champ and one half of the co-main event Islam Aliyev at WFC 6 for the vacant title: losing the bout via TKO after suffering a nasty cut in the second round. Ever since his loss to Aliyev, Licht has taken time to train and work on holes in his game that were exposed during WFC 6. Licht made his debut in MMA in a dominant fashion in the QFC, with another dominant debut in Wolves that earned him a title shot. It’s safe to say he wants to get back to that form and earn a rematch at Aliyev before it’s too late.

However, staring across the cage from him is explosive prospect Ridley Scott who’s looking to get back into winning ways and even his record out, maybe even earns at least a 5 next to his name. Ridley last was seen suffering a first-round submission defeat at the hands of Alexei Sykov at WFC 7. Since then, Ridley has been training extensively, and sharpening up his grappling in preparation for a career resurgence and is hungry for a spot in that win column, as well as a potential spot in the top 5. Scott is looking to spoil the comeback party of Licht and is hoping to push him further away from a shot at Aliyev and the title. Scott is looking to recreate his first win, a violent TKO finish.

Frankie’s Prediction: Ridley Scott via 3rd round TKO

Bout 3:

Gordon Hurst (0-1 MMA, 0-0 WFC) v #4 John Smith (2-2 MMA, 1-0 WFC)

Next up on this stacked Preliminary card is another Heavyweight clash between prospect Gordon Hurst, and top 5 contender John Smith.

First off in the red corner, is Gordon Hurst who is coming into this bout with a 0-1 record after falling short to Callum Cartwright on the regional QFC circuit via that last second round 2 TKO. Ever since the bout Gordon has been training like a mad dog, preparing his striking to kill fools next time he enters that cage; and that’s exactly what he aims to do to John Smith at WFC 10. He looks to get his first win and strip the #4 ranking from John Smith’s name all at the same time.

However, John Smith is a killer himself with 2 wins and both by violent TKO’s. We last saw John at WFC 5 where he brutalized Benson Johnson in the first round, only to completely slaughter the poor kid 41 seconds into round number two; forcing an incredibly late referee stoppage. He made Wolves headlines when he won the crowds hearts after completely screaming at and berating the incompetent referee. He said that even though he didn’t like how late the stoppage was, he aims to repeat the gameplan and score himself another violent TKO at WFC 10.

Frankie’s Prediction: John Smith via Unanimous Decision

Bout 4:

Reggie Charles (1-0 MMA, 0-0 WFC) v #5 Derrick Gawain (4-2 MMA, 0-2 WFC)

Our 4th fight of the Preliminary card is at Welterweight between a 5th ranked Derrick Gawain and a surging 1-0 Reggie Charles, whom of which is looking to take that 5 for his own.

First up in the red corner is our prospect, Reggie Charles. Charles made his debut back in August on the QFC circuit, winning the fight via first round arm-triangle choke. Since then, he’s been refining his grappling, training all aspects of the game as he aims to make an explosive Wolves debut, as well as explode himself into the top 5 with a win over 5th ranked Derrick Gawain at WFC 10. The brown belt aims to score another submission win in his second fight and rocket himself into the top 5 rankings.

However, in the blue corner is a tough wrestler in Derrick Gawain. Derrick’s Wolves career has been rather lackluster with two losses, however those two losses come to 3rd ranked Ben Licht and number 1 contender Vinny Dias, who of which is the other half of our co-main event. Losing to the two best guys in your division isn’t something to hang your head about, especially since Gawain steam-rolled his competition in a 4-fight debut tournament where he won gold. Gawain is a dominant wrestler with submissions, and Gawain looks to do exactly that to Charles in his Wolves debut: Dominate and submit.

Frankie’s Prediction: Reggie Charles via round 1 submission

Bout 5:

Kyo Yamamoto (1-0 MMA, 0-0 WFC) v Charlie Simmer (0-2 MMA, 0-2 WFC)

Next up is our Preliminary Headliner which is a Light-Heavyweight clash between two prospects in Kyo Yamamoto and Charlie Simmer, looking to make a statement and both looking to get their first win in Wolves.

First up in the Red Corner is 1-0 prospect Kyo Yamamoto, who is coming fresh off a Unanimous Decision win over Daniel Lewis at Dillo’s Fight Night 2. The performance earned him a 3-fight contract with Wolves. Kyo is looking to make a splash in his Wolves debut with a dominant win over Charlie Simmer, and with that hoping to put the entire Light-Heavyweight division on blast.

However, in the blue corner stands an experienced prospect in Charlie Simmer. We last saw Simmer at WFC 6 where he suffered a brutal KO loss in the first round via the mighty combos of 3rd ranked Hamed Juniorss. Charlie is looking to spoil the debut of Kyo in a Striker vs Striker match up that’s said to be potential Fight of the Night calibre and looking to hopefully earn his first professional win in that process of spoiling the young 1-0 prospect.

Frankie’s Prediction: Kyo Yamamoto via 2nd round KO

Main Card

Bout 6:

Bishop Alexander (1-0 MMA, 1-0 WFC) v Harry Johnson (1-1 MMA, 1-1 WFC)

First up on our Main Card and sixth on our STACKED card, is a Lightweight clash between prospects: Bishop Alexander and Harry Johnson, both of which are looking to continue their winning ways.

First up in the red corner is scrappy brawler: Bishop Alexander. Bishop made his Wolves AND MMA debut at WFC 7, scoring a vicious combo KO of Ikhmail Transnitritov in the very first round, shocking everyone in attendance as he was an underdog to the 1-0 prospect. Alexander is looking to continue that hype with yet another violent KO win over Harry Johnson and hoping to skyrocket himself into the top 5 conversation.

However, standing in his way is a very tough grappler in Harry Johnson. We last saw Johnson at WFC 7 where he scored himself a second-round submission win over 5th ranked Bantamweight Shane OMalley in OMalley’s lone Lightweight bout. Johnson is looking to repeat that result at WFC 10 and continue his winning streak with a submission win over Bishop Alexander, and in the process hoping to upset Alexanders chances of becoming top 5.

Frankie’s Prediction: Harry Johnson via Unanimous Decision

Bout 7:

Jack Daniels (0-1 MMA, 0-1 WFC) v #1 Vito Romero (3-1 MMA, 0-0 WFC)

Second on the Main Card and seventh of the night is a questionable Light-Heavyweight match-up between Number 1 contender Vito Romero and prospect Jack Daniels.

First up in the red corner is the underdog in Jack Daniels. Making his pro debut at WFC 5, he fell to a submission against OJ The Juice. After dropping his pro debut, he brought all his focus to patching up those areas of his game and has been in the lab for quite some time since WFC 5. Daniels looks to upset the title hopes of number 1 contender Vito Romero and send the entire crowds jaw’s to the floor with a complete upset at WFC 10.

However, Vito Romero is standing across from him in the blue corner, and this man has shown outside of Wolves that he’s no joke. Sporting a 3-1 record, Romero fought for the IFC Light-Heavyweight title after going on a 2-0 tear, he fell short to Ivan Raikov but came back in his next fight against Han Wulong with a second-round TKO. He’s looking to make a statement in his Wolves debut and hoping to make it absolutely no choice but to give him the next title shot. He’s looking to do that by using Daniels as a punching bag at WFC 10.

Frankie’s Prediction: Jack Daniels upsets the crowd via 2nd round KO

Bout 8:

#1 Mark Clarke (4-1 MMA, 2-0 WFC) v Billy Jones (0-0 MMA, 0-0 WFC)

In our featured bout before our Main and Co-Main events, we have a Heavyweight clash between number 1 contender Mark Clarke and debuting prospect Billy Jones. Both of which looking for a win on the big show.

First up in the red corner is number 1 contender Mark Clarke, whom we last saw at WFC 7 defeating 4th ranked Light-Heavyweight Orduoronartai Bora in their final Heavyweight bout via 1st round TKO due to a cut, before that Clarke made his Wolves debut at WFC 6 where he TKO’d Artem Morozov 43 seconds into the first round. Mark is looking to continue his winning ways with another TKO win over Billy Jones at WFC 10, cementing his place as number 1 contender and giving the matchmakers no choice but to consider him as a contestant for the vacant title.

However, in his way is debuting prospect Billy Jones, who opted to train instead of getting in cage experience, upon receiving his licence. Billy has shown in footage to be a dangerous wrestler as well as being able to handle himself on the feet; so, it’s a question to see whether Billy will want to take Clarke down or if he’ll want to close the distance and clinch up. Either way, Jones is looking to shock the world by beating a MASSIVE opponent in his MMA and Wolves debut at WFC 10.

Frankie’s Prediction: Mark Clarke via 1st round TKO

CO-MAIN EVENT:

Islam Aliyev (3-0 MMA, 3-0 WFC) v #1 Vinny Dias (3-0 MMA, 1-0 WFC)

In our Co-Main Event of the evening, we have a Welterweight Championship match up between the champion Islam Aliyev and number 1 contender Vinny Dias. Islam is looking for another finish, but Dias is looking to shock the masses and take home the gold for himself. Who’s 0 is going to go?

First up in the red corner is the CHAMPION, Islam Aliyev! Islam is coming into this bout fresh off his title win over current 3rd ranked Welterweight Ben Licht, and two other violent TKO finishes. Islam is a smashing machine with 3 straight wins in Wolves and all of them coming by way of vicious TKO, Islam looks to add yet another to his resume has he looks to defend his belt against number 1 contender Vinny Dias.

However, Vinny Dias is no slouch and is coming into this hungrier than ever before, coming fresh off his submission of the night debut against Derrick Gawain. Vinny is a slick artist off his back and poses a real problem for Islam’s reckless clinch and pound style as he can just slap a submission from bottom guard and end Islam’s night at any moment. BUT he can’t be cocky either as any of Islam’s clinch and pound has the ability make him turtle up and forget his entire game plan. He’s confident however that he’s going to bring home the gold.

Frankie’s Prediction: Islam Aliyev via 3rd round TKO

MAIN EVENT:

Vizual Mercenary (6-0 MMA, 1-0 WFC) v Jeff Lardy (3-0 MMA, 2-0 WFC)

FINALLY, OUR MAIN EVENT OF THE EVENING, and this one is a Middleweight Championship matchup between the CHAMP himself Vizual Mercenary and number 1 contender Jeff Lardy, a strike versus striker matchup that is slated to be an absolute barn burner given the stakes on the line.

First up in the red corner, the CHAMPION Vizual Mercenary! This man seems to be a deadly force to be reckoned with as he’s currently boasting 6 wins, all by violent TKO on the feet, with his most recent being for the vacant Middleweight title where he found himself TKOing JT Hawk in under a round. This man has sticks of dynamite for fists and one punch is capable of changing the direction of the fight into his favour at moments notice. He looks to add a seventh TKO win as he looks to TKO Jeff Lardy and retain his Middleweight title.

However, the challenger in Jeff Lardy is no slouch and has dynamite in his hands as well. He takes himself as a more cerebral striker however, boasting two dominant decision wins in Wolves which earned him this title shot. He looks to be the better striker and wants to upset the crowd with a decision win over the deadly Mercenary. He believes he holds the striking tools to get the job done, and hopefully he can nullify Vizual Mercenary’s power to his first ever title win.

Frankie’s Prediction: Vizual Mercenary via 5th round TKO
