Guest
Does having good Strength contribute much to KO Power, or at least cutting or rocking an opponent. Or put another way would having a low strength value such as mediocre or proficient stop a good boxers striking from be an effective fight winner? Note
High strenght does seem to contribute to overall punching power in my experience but obviously not as much as a high KO Power rating does.
iloveme8
KO Power, the attribute, is entirely independent from strength. Your ability to knock someone old will hinge on a combination of the two, as well as boxing, punches, agility and other stuff.

I've had fighters without any mention of KO Power in the Keys to Victory knock out fighters with granite chins, based solely on Wonderful or better strength. Guest
the answer is no. Mike has already said that strength and ko power is differnt. He also stated that in the game you can be elite strength and punch like a sissy. but strength does affect ko's in the clinch.

He might have meant that only having elite strength won't help, as in you also need to have some good boxing/mt and punches/elbows/knees/kicks. But, yeah, he might mean that if you have a low KO Power rating you're screwed regardless, which might just be the case. It doesn't seem like it, though. Guest
You don't have to KO people to win. If the fighter you make ends up rolling 150 good learning but 10 KO power, he's still worth keeping as you can train him into a beast who dominates fights for a decision. Guest
That may be the case, but I don't think so. I think the ability to knock someone out is a mixture of KO power, strength, primary striking skills, and secondary striking skills. Obviously if one of those is wicked low you have bad chances of knocking someone out, but if all of the others are high you should be able to pull it off. Everything about the engine is speculation unless it comes directly from the mouth of Mike, though. So if he says that KO power is all that matters, it probably does. And, you always need to factor in the chin and striking defense of the opponent. If either is bad, then you might score a KO, but that doesn't mean you can knock anyone who isn't a can out. For example, one of my fighters and one of my former fighters (who I am now trying to get back since releasing him 'cause I went VIP and can have more fighters, but that isn't important) have only one KO. Was it a fluke? Was it because their opponents are cans? I don't know. Both have had TKOs since, so I know they can throw, but they don't seem like they have what it takes to KO anyone else. Here are the KOs: http://www.mmatycoon.com/fightcommentary.php?FTID=69354 http://www.mmatycoon.com/fightcommentary.php?FTID=58717 Pretty much ran right over those guys, and neither of their opponents have had much success since, so it is possible they are just poor builds, but it is early in both of their careers. EDIT: And one of the things I can't get over is the fact that my boxer got a head kick KO with (at the time) low flexibility, agility, balance, strength, and less than competent kicks. Guest
I have this guy: http://www.mmatycoon.com/fighterprofilemanager.php?FID=11550 He has remarkable strength, but more importantly I think he has natural KO power. First two fights said he has 'Big Right Hand', last fight it was a TKO so it said 'Very Strong'.
