Weekend Undefeated Results As April comes to an end we have the best weekend yet for fights. 7 ranked or a win away from becoming ranked competed this weekend where the undefeated fighters went 3-2-1 (&"**") Starting of Joe Wick (398904) 9-0-1 stayed undefeated but failed to enter the All undefeated ranking after drawing to Neal Robson (395738) the fight was a Muay Thai affair where not much separated the two as suggested by the result. This draw casts some doubt onto the elite of the elite potential for Wick who is already such a highly ranked contender although he will hope it was just a blip, overall if I had to choose a winner I would have edged it to Wick due to the slightly better work being done on the feet but it was fine margins so a draw was the best outcome, not a ton of action to judge too. Staying on highly ranked undefeated fighters we have Omar Dahir (391086) enters the All undefeated ranking after moving to 10-0. By far the biggest victory of his career "The Mans Man" Happy Hands (388630) win streak comes to an end after a competitive split decision victory for Dahir who proves he is world level. Dahir was hunting for the takedown to secure gnp and he did just that repeatedly landing almost a dozen takedowns although on the feet Hands showcased just that rocking and dropping Dahir early in the fight and in the second doing the same with a counter one two, Hands also had success improving position on the ground, reversing the position a few times. This was a close fight to judge, Dahir rocked Hands on the ground and with his gnp landed many more shots but the biggest shots had to go to Hands. Ultimately the result was fair and showcased just how competitive and even this fight was, would love to see a rematch! Ivan Rojas (398651) is undefeated no more as Paul Hunter (389339) extends his winning ways to a 6 fight win streak (all since signing with Mr Swanson) and now is a clear front runner for a title opportunity at SYN. The fight started off all in the favor of Ivan who was having his most success with his kicks, although as the fight went on Ivan started to tire and Hunter soon showed that power in his hands dropping Ivan twice with the right hand, following up on the second knockdown with strikes from mount to force the TKO. A few tweaks and Ivan can definitely compete on the world level but for now Hunter continues his winning ways and the prime of his career. On the grappling front Cesar Borges (406762) (brown belt) showed not all belts are equal as he submits a black belt to climb to 10-0 and tied for 1st in the undefeated TWGC ranking. It was dominance throughout as Borges passed guard, took the back and then found the RNC. Great victory for the grappling phenom! Moving on we have undefeated MMA fighters who started their careers at 25 years of age, all of whom are finishers. Starting Tout Petit Gigante (409524) climbs to 10-0 with another first round submission, albeit in the last second of the round(10 Subs (all in the opening round)) and now enters into the All undefeated ranking and cement himself into the number 3 and 4 position in the All and MMA undefeated finisher rankings respectively. Taisei "Saku Jr." Sakuraba (409984) proved to be a tough stylistic test defending the first three takedowns until getting caught by a feint overhand into the takedown by Tout who then hunted for the submission from the bottom position after being reversed until finally finding that armbar like in his previous bout. Tout continues to show he is a force to be reckoned with as he continues to improve his record. Next up Trevon Mcdowell (409471) has his winning ways brought to an end while Mickey "Mick" McKinley (410715) extends his to 3-0. Mcdowell hunted for the takedown but to no avail and for his troubles was dropped twice by the right hand and eventually ate a counter right which resulted in him getting dropped again and then KO'd by brutal strikes to his collapsed body... Brutal win for McKinley who did it all in under one minute! At just 3-0 he definitely has a bright future. Cameron Flynn (409470) captures gold and moves to 9-0 (9 T/KO's) against Islam Magomedov (409360) with his four fight win streak coming to a close. This fight won FOTN and it was gruelling, Islam was the aggressor on the feet securing every takedown and on the ground is where the fight took place. In a dominant display Islam won the opening round with his gnp against a mostly bottomed Flynn, although reversals in this bout were fairly frequent. As the fight went on Flynn started to have more success on the ground with his own reversals and consequent gnp from top position winning the second round and by the 3rd both men were exhausted but it was Flynn who had a bit more energy and he finished the fight with gnp which started in the guard until Flynn decided to stack and landed a brutal left hand and then finished with more strikes. Definitely a fun fight between grapplers as for whats next for Flynn that is showcased in the next bout. Where on that same card Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (409106) moves to 9-0 with all finishes after a first round victory against former RMMA champion Iskender "Iskender" Aliev (408855). Kvaratskhelia wasted no time getting a takedown straight away into side control, he looked for some subs but then settled for gnp where he got the finish early in the first in a dominant display. With that performance Khvicha secures a title shot against Flynn on the 17th of May in a clash of the undefeated 9-0 finishers which is guaranteed to be an epic clash! That's it for the undefeated weekend action in April, all the winners have secured their spot in the May rankings with the losers coming just short. Great weekend of action to close but we're not done with April just yet as FREAKSHOW 15 OPENWEIGHT ROAD (986066) features some more undefeated clashes on the 30th.
