Training specific moves

I dont know if this makes sense or not but what if you could train specific moves. Like how GSP has a wicked jab. Maybe you could train your fighter to have a especially good jab.

Or you just train special moves like a cage jump kick or a cartwheel kick. Then your fighter would use them once in a while in the fights. They might give you a bigger KO chance or chance to stun them depending on the move.

+1

Jab, upper cut, left hook, overhand right, flying knee. So many moves that they could add and give your fighter a little more personality.

I'm sure a while back Mike said he would like to add some specific moves for fighters if there was enough demand, I think at the time it was when we were discussing submissions and some fighters having an expert guillotine or triangle for example. I don't know if he still has any plans for it but I imagine it's probably a long term idea.

Would be pretty cool though, I'm all for having different kinds of fighters who you can diffentiate from each other. As long as it can be brought in so that it's balanced and one certain move isn't outrageously better than another then it could be pretty sweet.

Yes, as long as it is basically just a flavor change it should be fine. If it isn't a flavor change, I look forward to the era of seeing two fighters duke it out while attempting nothing but Spinning Back Fists and Rear Naked Clam Jams in every match.

Isn't a punch, kick etc just that as far as the fight engine is concerned and thus spacific moves are just flavour text rarther then actual actions done by your fighter in the fight?

If thats wrong i'd love to know but I seem to remember people posting in the past posting that, and that would mean that being able to learn or specialise in a specific punche, kick etc would be meaningless and a waste of time unless the engine was changed.

The only way I see this working is if a successful submission attempt has a higher % than usual of being an armbar or something, and I'm not even sure if you can program that.
