FV #18 - The Sound Of Violence

Venue: Sparta’s Palace (capacity: 7,000) on Saturday 3rd May

As Forbidden Violence brings you another show from Sparta’s Palace for the third week running, we hope to have another full house packed to the rafters with FV fans. FV will bring you three title fights tonight and a phenomenal non-title co-main event which is not to be overshadowed.

The 185lbs Title Fight Main Event

Abel “Amazin” Speed (23-8-1) faces champion Jase Robertson (22-8-0)

The main event of the evening is possibly one of the biggest fights in the history of Forbidden Violence, it is certainly one of the most hyped, as two of the most popular fighters in the organisation face off for the Middleweight title. This will be Jase Robertson’s first title defence since winning the belt against Nyffe Pehmytkudos at FV #13 in convincing fashion with a first round KO victory but his opponent, the “Amazin” Speed has been on an equally hot streak and is very deserving of his opportunity. Speed has won 6 fights in a row, finishing half of them in the first round, with a victory over Steel Penn Alliance earning him his spot in this main event.

Although Speed has been on a hot streak you have to wonder, with Jase Robertson only losing one fight in his last 6 - and neither man failing to take a victory since their respective arrivals in FV – can anybody predict which way this fight is going to go. The one thing most fans and myself are certain on is that we will see a finish – both these men are top fighters but neither will want to let the other out of the first couple rounds, let alone the 3rd or 4th. It’s rare we get to see a fight this exciting, but when they do come around, it really grabs the fans attention – and that will certainly all be on these two men come Saturday night.

Co-Main Event

Sau “The Priest” Minneo (13-10-0) looks to get back to winning ways against Japanese star Lyoto Parks (15-5-0)

Not many fights could come before Speed vs Robetson and not be completely overshadowed but this bout may be able to avoid this if both these men can find form they showed they were extremely capable of earlier on in their careers. Lyoto Parks has been a bit of a journeyman in his career so far having collected victories in 6 different organisations and he’ll be looking to make that 7 on Saturday night when he faces “The Priest”. Sau Minneo’s career started of extremely respectable winning 12 of his first 18 fights but in recent months the New York based Martial Artist has struggle having only won one fight in 2014 so far. Minneo arrived at FV hoping for a fresh energetic start but those hopes were dented as James Jameson finished him in the first round @ FV #15 but will this Saturday be different for “The Priest”.

On paper this match-up looks relatively even with the edge going to Parks in most area’s particularly on the ground but worryingly for Minneo – a very overly round fighter in most area’s – Parks is also happy to stand and strike with great strength and speed. Sau may find most luck changing his game plan, and utilizing his lighting quick kicks and Muay Thai knowledge instead of going for the ground game and submission he has had success with in the past, but this could prove to be a challenge to far. As Parks has been looking extremely sharp of late and will want to finish. If I had to make the call I’d put my money on Parks to finish but you can never rule out the spirit of “The Priest”.

Welterweight Title Showdown

Champion Adam Duritz (2-0-0) looks to see off stiff competition in the form of German, Manfred von Richthofen (27-15-1)

Adam Duritz has taken not just Forbidden Violence but the world of MMA by storm; with organisations looking in attempting to sign him before his debut @ FV#9, those who didn’t manage it will really be regretting it now. At the age of 27, Duritz was a latecomer to MMA but has trained with impeccable determination to catch up with those of more experience and to great reward. In his second professional fight he was given a title match against Avon Barksdale – which he went on the win in convincing style (similarly to his Unanimous decision debut victory.) That being said, it would not be fair to rule out von Richthofen, who’s undefeated in three fights making his debut in Forbidden Violence.

Looking at the two it’s hard to see where the difference may lie in this fight, with both fighters being evenly matched across the board and both preferring to finish with power rather than technique and finesse. Maybe it’ll be done to whichever man is able to take control of the fight on the ground (if it goes down their) will scrape a victory by submission, something that in a combined 45 fights has only happened once for either of these fighters but that remains to be seen. If we can be sure of one thing, it’s this will be a hell of a fight. Two competitors, five rounds, one champion at the end, Champion vs Challenger, it’s Duritz vs von Richthofen and it has potential to be fight of the night.

Main Card

Ken Banners (17-9-0) tries to douse the rising flame that is Grigory “Iron Man” Gukepshev (9-1-0) in the battle of the big boys.

Untill last month “Iron Man” Gukepshev had won every fight this young man had been in, all of which he had finished and ALL of which he had done so in a maximum of 35 seconds. That was until last month when a strong Marcus Avery took him the limit and handed him his first loss by unanimous decision. Banners on the other hand comes in a lot more seasoned against arguably stronger opposition and has been in superb form racking up 5 straight wins, looking to make “Iron Man” his sixth straight victim.

It will be interesting to see how this fight plays out with Banners being possibly the more rounded fighter but “Iron Man”, having a huge weight advantage on his side in this Super Heavyweight match-up, will definitely be happy to trade blows and bang but must be wary of if Banners shoots for the take down – cause once he’s on the ground, this could all be over.

Does the good Doc have a remedy for prepared for Bang Bang?

In this match up Doc Holiday (17-13-0) faces “Bang?” Bang Bang (30-17-0).

Doc Holiday – a true fan favourite here in FV - has had a stuttering career since arriving here in FV winning 3 and losing 2 of his fights in the organisation. His opponent Saturday night is the unpredictable and mildly deranged Bang Bang (and would anybody expect anything else from a man with that name). Another fight which on paper looks very even and the fan support the good Doc will receive may be the extra edge he needs in this fight. From the corner we can expect to hear calls for Doc to shoot for the takedown if the stand-up gets too intense, while Bang Bang will surely want to be avoid the chance of giving Holiday any control on the ground at all due to the docs more documented wrestling ability.

“Jesse” James Jameson (17-9-0) vs Ricardo “Speedy” Gonzales (4-4-0) to follow the Featherweight Title match.

These two men have got the great difficulty of following a title match, but both men are off the back of very entertaining fights in which they picked up wins in very convincing fashion, with a KO and a Submission respectively. “Speedy” has earned the respect of the Forbidden Violence crowd but is still trying to earn the respect of his family back after turning his back on their pro wrestling tradition to turn pro MMA fighter. Another fight featuring a well round fighter in Jameson against the stand-up boxing specialist Ricardo – it should be a fun one but we shouldn’t expect the typical grappler vs striker because “Jesse” won’t be afraid to throw down no matter how strong the boxing ability of Gonzales is.

Vacant Featherweight Division, Winner Takes All, Title fight

Jimmy “BabyFace” Brooks (6-2-0) faces Volk “The Viking” Kruth (8-0-0) for the currently vacant Featherweight title

Both men greatly deserve this honour and privilege to face each other for this belt, with both men boasting a 2-0 record since arriving in Forbidden Violence and it was about time the division had a face to hold the belt. “BabyFace” Brooks has finally found his way home to the States in FV after some time out in Russia, while the Sweed Kruth will look hand him his first loss since his triumphant return to America. To do that Kruth will most likely have to take the fight to the ground but with his extensive Muay Tai background he may well do just as much damage inside the Clinch and on his feet. Brooks loves to finish and those quick but powerful hands of his have done just that on 5 separate occasions so look for him to right off the bat on the stand-up.

Undercard

Cletus “The All-American” White (15-14-0) given granted a re-match against the UK’s Memento Mori (14-6-0)

A cross Atlantic-Ocean war is expect to recommence on Saturday night with “The All-American” White getting another shot at Memento Mori of Great Britain. A fight that ended disappointingly early for everybody in the building but Mori as he took the win after controlling the fight for the majority of the early goings. Mori’s success came on his feet and in blocking White from every taking him off them onto his back, you have to feel this would be a key to success for Mori to pull off the victory again.

Battle for redemption as Hug “E” Reaction (22-21-0) face Jamal “Tinman” Tinsley (15-13-0)

A career so promising has really began to simmer out for Reaction, who only claims one victory in his last 8 outing, with no wins since joing FV 2 fights ago, but maybe his fortunes can change against an equally frustrated and surprisingly lacklustre Jamal Tinsley. Tinsley and Reaction both boast impressive skill sets but with neither man displaying great confidence at present this fight could be a case of the man who shows the least desperation and remains in control of their emotions will pull through victorious. Either way, this fight will most likely give one of these two fighters the much needed victory they’ve both been searching for.

Both “Wizards” Gordon Mathews (6-5-0) and Julio Ojana (1-1-0) look to bounce back from respective losses at FV #15.

Both of these two fighters suffered tough losses in Sparta’s Palace previously at FV #15, with neither man making out of the first round but that’s something young gun Julio Ojana is not used to having had an impressive amateur back ground and winning his first pro fight on the QCF circuit. Matthews of the other hand had be having great success in FV until 3 weeks ago, claiming 2 wins and 1 “Of the Night Award” which impressed the Las Vegas crowd greatly. While Ojana has a Mauy Thai background this doesn’t mean his striking will overwhelm Matthew’s who’s boxing is better than most in the Welterweight division here at Forbidden Violence and the fans will be eager to see both men keep it standing and throw down. A victory for eithr man on Saturday night could be the start of something big here in Forbidden Violence and make them a real force to be reckoned with!

We look forward to seeing you Saturday night for an action packed card with those three title matches and a couple of fights with potential number one contender or title challenger implications attached should the fighters display a decisive victory and a solid all round performance. It will be interesting to see who claims the HGH Nutrients Q160 (Tycoons Best Quality supps) “Of The Night” Awards!

FV #18 – The Sound of Violence

Link to Event

Sparta’s Palace (capacity: 7,000) on Saturday 4th May.

Unsurprisingly Sparta’s Palace was packed to the rafters with all 7,000 seats being filled as Forbidden Violence brought to the fans of MMA the best card in the relatively young history of the company. Not only was this a top card on paper but it also played out this way and it was not short of entertainment with every fight on the card ending in a finish – leaving the arena with a buzz through-out the whole show.

Main Event – 185 Middleweight Title Fight

Abel “Amazin” Speed (23-8-1) vs Jase Robertson (Champion - 22-8-0)

Before this fight, we here at Championship Press Association said this fight was possibly one of the biggest the company had put on its cards and had the potential to be one of the most entertaining; with Speed and Robertson being undefeated this far in their Forbidden Violence careers. The fight did not disappoint the fans at all as these two men well and truly left it all on the line and took each other from pillar to post. As these two men walked to the cage the atmosphere was truly electric with both men receiving standing ovations – the taller slightly heavier Robertson would be looking to capitalize on reach while Speed would want to use just what his name said to take the title.

Once the introductions were done, it was on and the fans could tell they were in for Fight of the Night (which the fight later received) from the get go. Speed opened strongly going straight for a strike from the offset and getting in some solid combinations but it wasn’t long before Robertson was returning the favour. Speed began to take some control early on continuing to land combinations but not being quiet able to find that heavy shot to cause some real impact damage. Out of the blue it came, just as Robertson was on the defensive he landed a solid combination of shots off the counter cutting Speed before Speed was able to land a jab to hold him back. With his head opened up it was Speeds turn to play on the defence, with Robertson looking like a shark chasing the scent of Speeds Blood before it was Speeds turn to land a couple of solid counters knocking Robertson down and Speed followed in with a couple of shots but Robertson recovered. Neither fighter was able to make much of the ground but when both returned to their feet after the referee gave them the stand-up, they gave the fans something to think about as the round came to an end. With seconds of the round left Speed got one last huge hit in knocking Robertson to the ground again but he was saved by the bell and both fighters returned to their corner.

Other than the early cut and control Robertson had not performed like the champion he was while Speed had lived up to his nickname and been “Amazin” for the majority of the round, just unable to produce the finish. Off the restart this changed, with Robertson coming out fired up but Speed remained cool headed countering a wild head kick with a solid jab sending Robertson to the mat – Speed followed in with more conviction this time and the fans new it before the ref could stop it, THIS WAS ALL OVER! Speed had forced the official to call a TKO stoppage (strikes) to take the Middleweight title and become what he has really deserved since joining Forbidden Violence. Is there anybody in this weight class that can match the speed and power of this man, Abel “Amazin” Speed!

Co-Main Event

Sau “The Priest” Minneo (13-10-0) vs Lyoto Parks (15-5-0)

This fight between these two men is has been approached in very different fashions by each corner. Lyoto Parks has been on great form only losing one fight in the last 6 but “The Priest” Minneo has been struggling as of recent after having such a bright beginning to his career – it would be interesting to see just how this one played out.

The fight started out – just how most had expected - with both men feeling out the other and Parks looking to bring Minneo into the clinch, which he achieved with relative ease. It was clear Minneo didn’t want to stay their but Parks dug in deep and kept the fight their landing several solid blows to the body and head of Sau. Minneo tried to recuperate and keep his distance but Parks closed in with tremendous speed looking to cause some early damage but he did even more than that, landing a big jab straight through the guard of Minneo, following with a big overhand right. Minneo tried to defend by throughing some aggressive strikes that were well off base before Park hit with a huge left handed hook that put Minneo’s lights out before he hit the mat. Park ran and jumped up the cage celebrating in front of the wild fans in Sparta’s Palace after take what was one of the quickest knockouts of the night. Parks was very convincing tonight and executed a clear game plan perfectly not allowing Minneo to even get into the fight before finishing, what a performance from Lyton Parks.

Welterweight Title Fight

Adam Duritz (Champion - 2-0-0) vs Manfred von Richthofen (27-15-1)

In only his second fight Adam Duritz became champion, the 27-year-old was a late comer to MMA and only began his fighting career in early 2014 but he had become a huge star already and many were struggling to challenge him. Manfred Von Richthtofen on the other hand had huge experience behind him and had also picked up his fair share of supporters and “Haters” for his extremist views but his fighting was what FV officials would be hoping the fans would go home talking about tonight.

As the fighters entered it was clear Duritz was the huge fan favourite with abuse raining from the audience at Richthtofen as he entered. The fans were really behind this fight and their champion for the entire 5 rounds this bout went, with every strike from Duritz cheered and every takedown from Manfred met with heavy boo’s and displeasure from the 7,000 in attendance. This fight had it all but as the fighters entered the 5th round tied; both men knew this had to be won here and now. It was Duritz who seized the movement once again as he controlled the beginning of the round before he finished it early throwing a wild, out of character head kick that left the challenger out cold giving Duritz the KO victory.

Unfortunately for Forbidden Violence and Duritz this fight won’t be remembered for the fantastic performance of both men, but mainly for the outburst from the unsuccessful challenger who didn’t waste his time in racially attacking his opponents and then attack Islam before the production team could cut off his microphone. Richthofen was then escorted from the arena by both the police and medical services while shouting abuse at fans. What punishment he will receive from FV and how long he will remain an MMA fight remains to be seen but what is clear, is if he continues there will be a lot of people gunning for fights against this man looking to cause some serious, permanent damage with it being reported that at least several fighters from inside and out of Forbidden Violence asking for a shot already.

Main Card

Ken Banners (17-9-0) vs Grigory “Iron Man” Gukepshev (9-1-0)

This fight had maybe not have received the attention from the mainstream media that the main event and the title fights had but Ken Banners – who left Mad Dogs as champion to challenge for the Welterweight Title here in FV – and young upstart “Iron Man” Gukepshev both had received their fair share of spot light for their recent actions before joining Forbidden Violence and their fight tonight will be no different. In a result that shocked the Las Vegas audience “Iron Man” lived up to his nickname and got a TKO victory in a mere 15 seconds against the former champion Banners. The fight left fans shocked as these two men went all out from the second the fight began just for Gukepshev to land a bit overhand right to Banners knocking him against the cage then following up with a series of lethal undefended blows that Banners had no reply for – forcing the official in stopping the fight. This puts the 22-year-old at 10-1-0 and leaves a lot of people with eyes wide open wondering just what this man can achieve!

Doc Holiday (17-13-0) vs “Bang?” Bang Bang (30-17-0)

The Doc came into this one wanting to find a cure for his inconsistency but would he be able to find it against the guy that had his name legally changed to Bang Bang. And Bang Bang is exactly what we got this, somewhat short lived, fight. Both men came out and it was clear they wanted to throw bombs with only 1 take down attempt between the two but this fight didn’t go on as long as fans had hoped as Bang threw a solid combination, halted a defensive takedown attempt from Holiday and then gave a nasty uppercut to send Holiday to the floor. Bang followed the fallen Doc to finish him and win by TKO (strikes) stoppage in what was one of the more forgettable fights of the night. The Doc is still searching for that run of form to keep him in relevance, while Bang Bang keeps his revival going after 3 straight losses.

“Jesse” James Jameson (17-9-0) vs Ricardo “Speedy” Gonzales (4-4-0)

This was another fight that couldn’t get past the second minuet of the first round as James Jameson faced Mexican former Luchador Ricardo “Speedy” Gonzales. Ricardo will have done nothing to convince his family (or fans for that matter) that it was the right decision to leave home and try make it in the States as he fell victim to the vicious hands of James Jameson who can be proud of the way he performed throughout this fight, controlling the standing game and making sure he didn’t take too much damage before closing in on the finish to beat Gonzales by TKO.

Vacant Featherweight Title Fight

Jimmy “BabyFace” Brooks (6-2-0) faces Volk “The Viking” Kruth (8-0-0)

Two men undefeated in FV and one of the two is undefeated in his entire professional MMA career. And thus far both were defining the word career as they surged their respective ways up the MMA ladder and into this featherweight title fight at FV #18. Both men have yet to win by submission yet possessing relatively strong ground game skills but with a combined 11 fights won by (T)KO this fight was sure to be finished!

And unsurprisingly we got just that, just not in the way we expected at all! I said before the fight I thought if Kruth could get the game to the ground he may have the edge if not this fight will be a duke fest on the feat with it going either way and this is the direct opposite of what we saw. Off the bat kruth looked for and achieved the take down, looking to control the fight on the ground, where it may have been unfamiliar for the fans to watch but he seemingly had the advantage pre-fight, tonight was not the case as Brooks was prepared having worked his BJJ hard in practice he put it into good use going for a triangle hold of the counter, which set “The Viking” on the back foot, from their “Babyface” looked for another triangle before transitioning into a excellently executed armbar, which he fully extended forcing Kruth to tap giving Jimmy Brooks the Featherweight title. Despite having just won the title Brooks was incredibly gracious in victory thanking the fans and coaching staff for the helping him on his way to victory – this young man’s career is well and truly on its way now!

Undercard

Cletus “The All-American” White (15-14-0) vs Memento Mori (14-6-0)

Here we are at FV #18, only a month after these two men last face at FV #14, in a fight that Memento Mori showed some true quality and put the “All-American” White and extend White’s losing streak to 3. Would White be able to come back from this and take a victory in the return match?

In the opening part of this match it appeared it may be possible and White started off with great enthusiasm and aggression glosing the distance quick and throwing some quick shots before Mori countered into the clinch. Once in the clinch White continued to pile the pressure on landing some heavy shots and forcing Mori to defend hard before breaking through and landing a huge elbow to cut Mori’s cheek wide open. The fighters went in and out the clinch as Mori tried to bide time and this frustrated the “All-American” who over committed to throwing knee’s in the clinch leaving his face exposed to a vicous shot from Mori which left him rocked. White was clearly dazed on his feet and Mori didn’t fail to capitalize on the opportunity landing a big elbow cutting White open and knocking him to his knee’s where Mori continued to throw hands at White before the referee called a stoppage to the fight and declared Memento Mori winner by TKO. White was clearly disappointed by the loss and confidence shaken especially after coming out and controlling the way he did initially but Mori stuck it out and claimed the win well.

Hug “E” Raction (22-21-0) face Jamal “Tinman” Tinsley (15-13-0)

Yet another fight tonight where the two men, in-front of this sold out crowd here in Nevada, left caution at home and came to not only win but do so in crushing style. The “E” met “Tinman” and both men put on a real show throwing big kicks, strikes and even bringing the fight into the clinch to finish it off, where Tinsley brought the fight to an end. Tinsley land a huge uppercut which pushed Raction against the fence before “Tinman” showed no mercy throwing punches against an opponent on dream-street before the referee finally called a halt to the bout. The only question in the referee’s decision was what took him so long to step in as Raction threw bombs for a good 4 or 5 seconds longer than he needed as the referee made no call. CPA (Championship Press Association) has since found that both corners are unhappy with the official and we understand both have written letters of complaint about the official for the bout due to the length of time he allowed it to go on and putting the safety and health of a fighter in question – more to follow.

“Wizards” Gordon Mathews (6-5-0) and Julio Ojana (1-1-0)

The match-up turned out to be not only the second longest bout of the card but also the second least entertaining and most lacklustre bout the audience had to sit through tonight. Despite a couple of take downs and multiple submission attempts neither fighter looked genuine in their attempt to finish and it was clear why this was bottom of the card. In the second round the fight lived up a bit with a couple of notable moments including Ojana being cut by a counter before getting taken down – which ultimately led to the finish – where Matthews put the ground and pound on Ojana cutting him open further and eventually knocking him out cold with one huge right hand blow across the temple from the mounted position, giving Matthews the KO victory.

Of the Night Awards sponsored by: HGH Nutrients Q160 Tycoons Best Quality supps

KO of the night: Lyoto Parks

Sub of the night: Jimmy Brooks

Fight of the night: Abel Speed vs Jase Robertson

This was one of the most exciting shows I’ve been in attendance for since joining Championship Press Association and Forbidden Violence can be really proud of the way their fighters performed tonight, with a lot of exciting finishes, all out wars and overall great value for money. The only disappointment they will see is couple of lower main card fights didn’t live to the billing and obviously the incident involving Manfred von Richthofen will have to be examined. With that being said the overall quality of the show, particularly the main event involving Abel Speed and Jase Robertson, aswell as the performance of several undercard fighters will hopefull glaze over the negatives. This show receives rave reviews from me and other critics alike awarding it a 247.74 rating.

FV #19 – Watch Your Back

Saturday 10th May @ Sparta’s Palace (capacity: 7,000)

As Forbidden Violence brings you yet another quality event once again from Sparta’s Palace which is beginning to feel very much like home for the company and its fighters, we take a look over the card that this up-and-coming company is giving us for the coming weekend.

Super Heavyweight Clash for the Title

Mirko “The Angel of Death” McCracken (16-7-0) takes on a hungry “Fatt” Jordan Johnson (27-20-1) to crown a new champion following Mark Calloway’s departure from the company.

This title fight may not be drawing the attention of last week’s match between Speed and Robertson, but most know they will be in for a good fight on Saturday night as neither man likes to leave a fight to a decision with only 7 decisions between the pairing in a combined 43 victories. Mirko McCraken is 1-1 in FV and has been through a couple of wars in the cage since starting out with the Nevada based organisation, while Jordan Johnson is making his debut for the company with the promise from owner Frank King to be given the opportunity to be a big time player here, but he’s still got to take it.

Neither fighter has won a fight by submission yet in their careers, and in 71 fights these fighters have seen between them, only once has it gone to a submission. This has the real feel of a slug fest and the fans will be all for it. While we do expect it to be a phenomenal fight, I do feel Johnson goes in favourite as, while both men appear equal when stood up on paper, Johnson has a heavy advantage on the ground. I maintain I think whoever wins the stand-up with most likely win but one does have to wonder, if McCraken stands to take control, will Johnson take the fight to the ground, and if he does, is “The Angel of Death” a match for him?

Co-Main Event for the evening

Is a bout that see’s Daniel Dylan (25-17) match up with debutant Helio “The Hitman” dos Passos (15-7-1)

This fight really truly has all the feel of a striker vs a grappler to it, with both men maintain winning records over their career but both doing it in very different manors. While fans of FV may not be familiar with dos Passos, one thing they will have heard about him upon signing is about just how good he is on the ground and he never likes to leave a fight unfinished. Only one fight in his career has gone the distance, outside of that he likes to force his opponent to quit or be finished (11 sub victories but 6 T/KO victories). On the other side of a the cage is Daniel Dylan, a man we’ve only seen appear once for FV since signing but a man we are excited to see a lot more of. He calls himself “The Champ” but does Dylan have what it takes to carve a path to the belt here in Forbidden Violence, this fight will reveal more insight on that we hope!

This featherweight fight is expected to be fast paced and all-out action but former Maple Leaf Combat champion Dylan, being the more weathered of the two fighters, will be looking not too let the fight get spiralling out of control and will look to dictate the tempo. It really is a case for dos Passos of making sure he finds a way to take down the lighter, more seasoned veteran that is Dylan, whether he looks to counter off Dylan’s strikes or bring a fast paced game-plan and look to shoot quick. If Dylan can keep the fight standing, I feel “The Champ” will have every right to be calling Jimmy Brooks and saying “watch your back buddy”.

If this fights as long as the two competitor’s names we’re in for a right treat!

When Hildebrand Gardiner Wright Blackwood (14-11) and "Quick Popper" Orville Redenbacher (35-12-1) meet inside the cage

Taking the jokes aside about the headaches these two fighters give writers trying to report on them, we should be in for another great match here and on another card this could’ve been the Main Event/Co-Main Event with ease. A lot of people saw “Quick Popper’s” arrival in Forbidden Violence as a special attraction and farewell after his dismal time in EMP but since his arrival Redenbacher went 3-0 in his first three fights earning him a title shot against the star known as FV Champion, Jermaine Barksdale, which he subsequently lost but he did take the champ the distance only to lose by decision. He’ll be looking to get back on track again when he faces Blackwood, who in his signle FV fight impressed greatly disposing of the tough Italian Ballestrazzi in under 2 minutes forcing his opponent to tap.

“Quick Popper” will want one more big KO punch to add to his already mounting amount (27 in total) of (T)KO victories and he has every chance of doing so if Blackwood’s striking defence isn’t on top form Saturday night. Blackwood is an extremely versatile fighter, so while he may have not had as many fights or victories as Redenbacher, we do know Blackwood can finish in any style, from any position on his feet or on the ground. This fight is just one of ten top fights we’ve got tonight and as I wrote earlier, on another card this could’ve been the Main Event which shows just what quality is on not only this cad but in the FV roster.

West Vs East All-Stars

As "Hammer" Mark Woleman (34-15-1) aims to take all the spoils in his match with "Kid Southern Lights" Rebel Johnson (16-18)

After going through a huge slide in his career where he lost 7 straight Johnson has come back a man on fire since beating Von Hammer, winning 6 out of 7 fights he’s been in, including his debut for FV against Tiyapairat. The “Hammer” Mark Woleman on the other hand has been on stuttering form, losing as many as he’s won recently unable to get any positive win streak going as of late, the way he did early on in his career, but Woleman will be hoping Forbidden Violence is the start of something new.

Johnson is a black belt in BBJ and will definitely be looking to take the fight down to the ground and get a tight hold on one of his top class submissions but he will have to be wary, as his jaw may not be made of glass but it certainly isn’t made of granite after being KO’d 13 times. Woleman may be the better-rounded fighter but the 40-year old veteran will have to be wary, pace himself and make sure the natural decrease in his cardio doesn’t leave him gassed later in the rounds. KO for West Coast or Sub for East, I see a winner in this one!

Main Card

Former Champion "The Natural" Avon Barksdale (18-13-1) tried to regain some momentum when facing Mark "Mean Streak" Tanner (15-13)

Another pure stand and bang fighter against a ground specialist, when Barksdale faces Tanner. Both men are 1-1 in Forbidden Violence but it’s Barksdale – who like his brother Jermaine, has been the real stand-out with a fantastic title victory on his debut and losing to the undefeated and seemingly unstoppable Adam Duritz. Tanner will be looking to beat the former champion and you must say if he is able to do that he will be in with a good shout at taking the next title shot against Duritz (who will be looking for opposition following another good win last Saturday @ FV #18.) Tanner will have to fully utilize his BBJ background to get past Barksdale if he even wants to be considered as a title challenger. Going into the fight there have been rumours and mumbling that Tanner has been struggling with his cardio and fitness but that remains to be seen as his corner have come out and announced these as “rubbish” but we’ll find out for ourselves on Friday when he appears for weigh in’s before the fight.

The Steel Penn Alliance (5-8) and Damien "RDX" Garcia (18-9) Battle it out for their first Forbidden Violence wins

One of only two fighters on the card with a negative record is Steel Penn Alliance and he faces the, by comparison, heavily popular Damien Garcia. Both of these men are looking for their first victories inside of the Violence cage and both have every reason to be confident of being able to achieve it. Garcia has shown how tough the transition to forbidden violence can be when he lost against Mark Tanner (a win that got Tanner a fight against former champion Barksdale) but he did manage to take Tanner the full distance – although he did lose every round. Which man can make the most of this fight and gain some momentum a lot of you may be asking? For me it has to be Garcia, “RDX” hasn’t show his full capabilities since signing with FV and will be keen to prove he is worthy of the contract given to him by FV officials. Penn may be better on the ground but so far he’s had no success in getting the fights their – will he be able to change his ways in the fight against Garcia? We’ll have to wait and see when these two men face off this Saturday. It may not be one of the more hyped fights on the card but for the men involved some see it as their careers in FV could potentially be on the line if either was to suffer another big loss and with the form each man has been on, anything less than a stalemate draw would be seen as a big loss for the unsuccessful corner.

Hungry Rising Star John "Crazy Train" Wensink (5-3) tries to knock off the Veteran Samak "Zen" Tiyapairat (22-12) to make a name for himself

The ever popular youngster John Wesink, who is 1-0 in FV fights, is looking to make a name for himself against veteran opposition Samak Tiyapirate who will be contesting his 35th fight Saturday night. Tiypairat has lost both his FV fights so far and is looking to bounce back with a strong win over “Crazy Train” Wensink. Tiyapairat will need to use his edge in the stand-up game, while both men are even on ground. Both of these fighters love to finish by KO and it should be an entertaining fight, with plenty of action and a finish could occur any moment.

Undercard

Ambrogio Ballestrazzi (12-9) vs Kingsley Ciprut (15-11-1)

In the last undercard bout before the main card Ballestrazzi face Ciprut in the main card Ballestrazzi face Ciprut in what will be one of the less anticipated bouts due to the poor run these two are on but it appears to most that Ballestrazzi will have the upper hand going into this fight and is most likely to turn it around. His experience and advantage in the size/weight department should be enough to see off Ciprut – particularly as Kingsley’s form has been on such a low, but both men have shown in the past they are very much capable of achieve the victory, so we shall see!

Karl Pilkington (4-0) vs Oil Slick (35-15-2)

Two really evenly matched fighters in this one but once again a story of a seasoned veteran having to be careful of a undefeated upstart who’ll be looking to put away the vet in a strong performance. This will be Pilkington’s first fight in around about 8 months so it’ll be interesting to see if the late comer to the sport will have any ring rust and be able to maintain his top ability. Oil has been around the block just a few times and that cage experience could really be the difference on the night, but Pilkington shouldn’t be ruled out and will hopefully be able to draw from his strong performances and we’re hearing both men have had a good camp coming into this fight.

Andy Carroll (6-1-0) vs Lenny Lopez (1-3-0)

To open the show we have one half of the Fight of the Night from FV #15 on the show as Andy Carroll Faces Lenny Lopez in what should be a great start to the show. As far as skills go Lopez has the wider skill-set and has proven his ability in other area’s of martial arts great, but when putting the package together so far he’s not had great luck. Carroll on the other hand on paper would normally be the underdog here but his confidence and moral are sky high and he’ll be looking for another victory to add to the 6 he’s already taken! Carroll may be able to out box Lopez but he’ll have to be cautious to avoid the ground or Lopez may punish.

It’d take a lot for any card to match that of what was on display for FV #18 and while I don’t think we shall see a fight that comes to the standard of Abel Speed’s title defence against Jase Robertson, I certainly believe this should be another solid card for Forbidden Violence. Several new guys will be getting their first taste of life in FV and it’ll be interesting to see if the “Crazy Train” can make a name for himself and beat Tiyapirat but all these questions will be answered on Saturday night. That’s all from us here at Championship Press Association but we’ll have a review following the event for those who cannot make it and a possible interview with one of the stars in the coming week, stay tuned to find out more!

FV #19 Watch Your Back

Venue: Sparta’s Palace (7,000) on Saturday 10th May.

Forbidden Violence brings you another card featuring promising talent who are looking to make a name for themselves and the organisation along the way. The 19th Weekly show from Forbidden Violence saw some surprises, some events we expect and the release of news that left fans hungry for more.

Super Heavyweight Title Fight

Mirko “The Angel of Death” McCracken (16-7-0)(1-1) vs “Fatt” Jordan Johnson (27-20-1)(Debut)

This fight was being hyped to the moon and back, the new face of Forbidden Violence’s 265+ Super Heavyweight divisions was going to be made tonight when they were crowned champion of the currently vacant Super Heavyweight Title. A title left vacant by former champion Calloway who departed undefeated in FV. These two men stepped up in his wake, with Johnson making his debut tonight.

What we got in the main event Saturday night was nothing but shock, a stunned capacity audience of 7,000 at Sparta’s Palace watch on as this fight finished in a mere 31 seconds. As the fight began both me advanced but Johnson hands were slow to react as McCraken threw a lightning quick combo to knock down the debutant straight of the bat and open up a cut upon his head. “The Angel of Death” hovered around the fallen Johnson as he would not be drawn into a ground war and waved “Fatt” to his feet. Johnson warily obliged but he may as well stayed down as McCraken kept out of his reach before landing another rapid combo which saw Johnson go down for good, not only giving McCraken the KO victory but also handing him the title. McCraken has not one a MMA title in nearing two years and the delight was clear (after turning his career to Kick-Boxing), we give you the new FV Super Heavyweight champion, “The Angel of Death” McCracken!

Co-Main Event

Daniel Dylan (25-17)(1-0) vs Helio “The Hitman” dos Passos (15-7-1)(0-0)

Daniel Dylan has been a champion everywhere he has been, so it is little wonder he likes to call himself “TheChamp” but on Saturday night he faced stiff opposition against the 7 time submission of the night winner in Brazilian dos Passos. A true battle of a striker vs a grappler in this featherweight match up that saw these great combatants take the fight the distance to a decision.

It certainly won’t go down as one of the all-time classics as both men seemed to play overly defensive looking to not get finished rather than to finish their opponent. Dos Passos controlled the fight in the early goings getting a take down and controlling the ground game, until very late in the first round after a stand-up where Dylan returned the favour with a takedown of his own to end a round “The Hitman” had otherwise dominated. The rest of the night was a different story as dos Passos took several shots from Dylan and had a few takedowns thwarted, leading a big set up for the third. Which did not pick up any pace and seemed as if both men were looking for a decision rather, than to finish before the final bell, despite a few somewhat threatening submission attempts. As It went to the score cards all three gave scores of 29:28 in favour to Dylan, who remained undefeated since his arrival in FV, he went onto thank the fans and promising a more exciting fight next time out, which he hoped would be soon.

Main Card

Hildebrand Gardiner Wright Blackwood (14-11)(1-0) vs "Quick Popper" Orville Redenbacher (35-12-1)(3-1)

The evenly matched ability and outstanding cardio of these two fighters meant, in my opinion, this fight could’ve gone on for 5 rounds and I don’t think we would’ve seen a finish or even a clear and decisive winner as Blackwood took on Redenbacher. The two men took the fight the whole three rounds to a decision, which Blackwood scraped 29:28 but it was a fight that really could’ve had a different story.

The fight opened with strong stand-up from both men landing several strikes each, with Blackwood even being cut after a mean 45 seconds, before it transitioned to and fro the ground for the remainder of the fight. While neither fighter was particularly convincing in any of the “close” finishes and submission attempts, this may be down to the heart both men showed when on the defensive end than the finishing ability of the aggressor as Blackwood survived multiple big shots and “Quick Popper” escaped from a total of 10 submissions to make it to the end. It won’t go down as HOF career making fight, but it’s certainly one the fans appreciated live in Sparta’s Palace and left many hungry of the main event and title fight that followed shortly after.

"Hammer" Mark Woleman (34-15-1)(Debut) vs "Kid Southern Lights" Rebel Johnson (16-18)(1-0)

On what should’ve been an impressive debut in a tough fight for Mark Woleman against Rebel Johnson, it was announced to the Las Vegas audience that Woleman failed to make weight coming in at 185.1lbs for his fight at 170lbs resulting in a No Contest. A noise of disgust came from the fans in the arena and it remains to be seen whether Woleman will remain under contract with FV or not following this incident where it is clear the fighter made no attempt to make weight in what can only be seen as a cowardly attempt to duck the fight with Johnson.

"The Natural" Avon Barksdale (18-13-1)(1-1) vs Mark "Mean Streak" Tanner (15-13)(1-1)

Former champion and brother of current 205lbs champion Jermaine, Avon Barksdale faced off against Mark Tanner in what looked like one of the hottest matches outside of the main events. The fight itself was a great back and forth contest with both competitors putting on a strong showing. Barksdale started the first round strongly by cutting Tanner early but Tanner showed a lot of heart and determination to claw back and actually take the round as he controlled both his emotions and his opponent phenomenally to take the first round. Unfortunately for Tanner, Barksdale came out strongly and controlled the fight making sure Tanner couldn’t take the game to the ground and keeping his strikes soft and from range. Every time the fighters came into the clinch Barksdale gave out the majority of shots and came off better in the exchanges and this showed when the fight when to the judges’ score cards. Barksdale took this great fight 29:28 by unanimous decision and just proved overly too much for his opposition despite Tanners strong outing.

The Steel Penn Alliance (5-8)(0-1) vs Damien "RDX" Garcia (18-9)(0-2)

Normally most would’ve seen this fight as a walk-over for Garcia coming in but with a huge slip in form and a resulting lack of confidence, many saw this as a more even fight and it would be a case of which fighter could last the longest not finish off the other first. Those thoughts could not be further from the truth.

Garcia came straight out at the start holding nothing back and showing no concern for his own wellbeing throwing everything he had at Steel and it paid off, Any longer and he may of gassed himself out early with the overwhelming aggression he displayed but with a huge head kick that left Alliance dazed against the fence Garcia moved in for the killed throwing strike after strike against his opponent, leaving the official no choice but to call a stop to the contest awarding Garcia the win by TKO. Garcia was clearly delighted with the victory and that must do wonders for his confidence but one does have to wonder, against a more skilled opposition would that extreme level of aggression backfire against “RDX”.

Undercard

John "Crazy Train" Wensink (5-3)(1-0) vs Samak "Zen" Tiyapairat (22-12)(0-2)

Rising star John “Crazy” train” Wensink matched up against the seasoned Vet “Zen” who had been on a bit of a slump as late, losing his last 2 fights in FV. The fight was In and out the clinch for the most part as the fighters were happy to get up close and personal with each other, looking for a finish at any opportunity. “Crazy train” Wensink in his typical aggressive style was looking strong but got cut which slowed his momentum, giving Tiyapairat the opportunity to pile on the pressure and rock Wensink. “Zen” followed up with a series of sharp strikes for the TKO victory to the delite of the fans, Tiyapairat post match decided to big himself up when talking to the announcers.

Ambrogio Ballestrazzi (12-9)(0-1) vs Kingsley Ciprut (15-11-1)(0-1)

Another fight that went deep into the third round on this stacked FV #19, in very contrasting fashion to how the previous card had been, was the match up that saw two evenly matched fighters push each other to the limit. It was one of the more entertaining fights of the card two as the back and forth action was fought on feet but both men were happy to fight in the clinch up close and personal – scoring a lot of points! Ciprut had the majority of strong strikes land as he cut open Ballestrazzi each round and by the third you could only feel it would be a matter of time before Ciprut took the win. The fight was finally stopped and victory awarded to Ciprut after the official called in the cage side doctor to check out the cut and the doctor then called a halt to the bout. While the fans wanted to see the finish occur through the fighters ability they must, and seemingly did, respect the official’s decision to protect the fighter’s future and health.

Karl Pilkington (4-0)(Debut) vs Oil Slick (35-15-2)(Debut)

Battle between two debutants as Pilkington, who has been on a 6 month hiatus, returns to face 40-year-old veteran Oil Slick. These two men come to Forbidden Violence for two very different reasons, but both to achieve the same goal. Pilkington will be wishing to prove he’s gained a step since he was last seen, while Slick was looking to show he’s still got it. He did just that as this fight which some thought would go the full 15 minutes in which both men saw their share on control but eventually half way through the third round it was Pilkington who had the break through with a clean takedown which Slick couldn’t defend. Once on the bottom it went all wrong for the undefeated man though as one slight slip cost him the fight when Slick slapped on a guillotine the returning stand-out could not get out of and near stealing the submission victory. It was something only a veteran could pull off as the gap was minimal but that’s what experience counts for and Slick showed the fans, he really has still got it.

Andy Carroll (6-1-0)(1-0) vs Lenny Lopez (1-3-0)(1-2)

It may not have been fight of the night but Carroll vs Lopez opened the show in Sparta’s Palace and was a solid bout that saw what most had predicted, Carroll wanted to keep to a striking war while Lopez wanted to keep the fight up close and personal before taking it to the ground. The early exchanges were even with Carroll scoring some big shots but Lopez getting a very quick takedown, although was unable to capitalize once the fight was on the ground. Carroll desire to not see his last fight for FV come to an end with the opponents hand raised showed in his performance and he gave it is all before finally finishing the fight with a defensive countering knee that put Lopez out cold. That really could’ve been KO of the night had it not been for the main event but it was a great way for Carroll to say farewell to the fans and they responded with a respectful applause as he left the cage undefeated in Forbidden Violence.

OF THE NIGHT awards, Sponsored by HGH Nutrients!

Fight of the night: Hildebrand Gardiner Wright Blackwood vs Orville Redenbacher

KO of the night: Mirko McCracken

Sub of the night: Oil Slick

After a very solid card again from FV it appears that last week was not just a one off. Along with news being made official over the last few days that top 200 Pound-for-Pound fighter Paul Smith signing with FV, it shows the company is definitely on the up attracting more high profile names such as the top-10 Super Heavyweight fighter and cards such as this and FV #18 are sure only to solidify the improving reputation of Forbidden Violence. The pressure is on for those who follow after these two great cards!

FV #20 - The Beat Up In The Bay - Preview

Saturday 17th May @ Wandalay Bay (capacity: 12,000)

Each week I see the Forbidden Violence card come out and think, how does an organisation that is barely 6 months old provide such strong cards and great quality match-ups time and time again. With 3 championship title matches on display come this Friday, the landscape of the company will change drastically and new challengers will be given room to prove themselves, along with old ones, such as Jase Robertson, raring to prove they deserve another shot.

Main Event

“Bad Bad” Leroy Brown (34-15-2)(1-0) v Billy “The Really Good” Roberts (15-2-0)(1-0)

With both men being undefeated in Forbidden Violence and both men also taking commanding victories in their respective FV wins it is not hard to see why this fight is the main event of the evening despite their being three championship title matches when FV comes to the Bay. These two men are coming in off hot streaks and are both incredibly over with the fans, which cannot wait to see who will walk victorious from the arena. Roberts is undefeated in 6 fights and won by (T)KO in every fight one of those 6 victories. In fact the only way it appears that any opposition is able to stop Roberts is by taking him the distance as ALL 2 of his loses have come by decision; Something Brown is not familiar with either, seeing all bar 4 of his 51 fights have a finish before the final bell.

These fighters are very evenly matched but Brown may have a very slight advantage on his feet, with a strong amateur Muay-Thai background it’ll be interesting to see if Roberts can match the kicks of “Bad Bad” Leroy Brown or if that’ll keep Roberts on the outside. The key to victory for Roberts must be getting in close, pilling on the pressure and trying not to let those kicks, particularly to the legs, stop him from getting in his comfortable range. If these men get up close I see Roberts winning any exchanges but Brown has the advantage from range. It’ll be great to see which competitor takes the initiative and takes control early on.

Co-Main Event

Gegard Mousasi (25-9-1)(1-0) v “The Saviour” Philip Negan (11-8-0)(0-1)

If you’re looking for a fighter who gives it his all, has true love for his fans and is a genuine blue chip hard worker, then you don’t have to look much further than Gegard Mousasi. Despite his hard work, persistence and natural ability he is the first to credit his success to his fans and his humility is what makes them love him in return. On the other side of the cage from the fan favourite on Friday is a Philip Negan, a man branded as “The Saviour”, who after his current display looks in a little need of saving himself after taking a hard loss to Ramirezovic.

While it may appear Mousasi’s experience and skill makes this fight a bit of a miss-match, you need to take into account Negan’s confidence generally makes up for this, as this has been a case in a lot of his bouts across various companies. Negan looked to save various promotions from what he says are the scum of MMA and this outrageous confidence is what has got him this far, scoring surprise victories over various opponents such as Kasim Akande. The only concern I’d have if I was a corner man for Negan is he normally likes to look for the take-down and then follow with a submission, getting the take-down may not be impossible on Mousasi but the following submission will prove difficult as their aren’t many better on the matt than the 33-year-old Dutchman.

Main Card

Memento Mori (15-6)(2-0) v Jase Robertson (22-9)(2-1)

Memento Mori has finally moved on from the feud with fellow FV #20 card member, Cletus White, who he beat twice in succession to go 2-0 and in Forbidden Violence and now turns his attention to a very formidable competitor. That would be the last challenger to Abel Speed’s 185lbs title, the man who took part in what a lot of fans see as the most exciting fight in the history of the company and really put this man on the map. Robertson may feel had he won the fight he may well have been main eventing the card but after the loss, despite the impress fight with Speed, Robertson is back to square one and will be looking to impress to get himself right back into the title picture!

These guys are both relatively young fighters and both fighters share one more thing in common, they HATE decisions. They both fight by, “Knock Out or be Knocked Out” and that’s what the Forbidden Violence fans will love to see. It’ll be exciting to see which way this fight falls and what the fallout from the fight may be; If Mori could beat Robertson would he stake a rightful claim to be in with a title shot at Abel Speed? We will see at FV #20.

Eliod “Scooter” Bunkley Iii (17-4-1)(3-1-1) v “The lion of Matema” Baraka Simengwa (12-9-0)(1-0-0)

A battle of the submission artists will take place at Forbidden Violence #20 and the Bay will witness maybe not one of the more explosive bouts of the evening but it can certainly expect one of the more technical as Bunkley – 4 time submission of the night winner in his career – faces off against relative FV new boy Simengwa – BJJ Red Belt – in what may be one of the most complex bouts the organisation has ever seen. Both fighters normally just have to get their opponent to the ground before getting a beating and work their magic from their but Bunkley Lii and Baraka Simengwa will be in for a real test of their abilities as seeking control of the ground in this fight will certainly be a lot easier done than said. Two more potential challengers could be taken down to one for Abel Speed’s title but it’ll be interesting to see who takes the upper hand and if either tries to run their luck in the stand-up. This fight has a real air of uncertainty around it as it could end at any time or go to the decision (at least in the eyes of everybody I’ve spoken too) and it should be a bout to really keep your eye on even amongst the 3 title fights this evening.

Welterweight Title Bout

Champion Adam Duritz (3-0)(3-0) v Mikio “Flame666” Okita (37-22)(4-1)

On paper this bout looks like the ultimate ground vs grappler fight with Duritz having the advantage on his feet in this fight but challenger Okita being considered truly as one of the best in the world in terms of ground game ability. Only through hard work and dedication was Okita recently able to claim his Red Belt in BJJ and along with it become a serious contender and threat in Forbidden Violence for Duritz title. The champion will be on top of the world making his second defence since beating Avon Barksdale to win the title in only his second ever professional MMA bout. This young man is a phenomenal talent, especially considering how late he joined the sport but it should be interesting to see just what he is capable of against somebody with the 59 fight experience Mikio Okita has.

While it is clear Okita sacrificed some of his stand-up so he could perfect his technique on the mat, he should not be underestimated as he has only every been KO’d 3 times in his career and he’ll want to make sure that number doesn’t become 4 in his 60th professional career fight. It will be interesting to see how the champion approaches this fight, in both title fights he finished with some amazingly executed strikes and one must be wondering how such a high level of confidence will affect him; Will the champion suffer from being over-confident and leaving him exposed or to make simple errors – something he CANNOT afford against an opponent of the experience of Okita.

Featherweight Title Fight

Champion Jimmy “BabyFace” Brooks (7-2)(3-0) v “Jesse” James Jameson (18-9)(2-0)

23 year old Jimmy “BabyFace” Brooks has been on something of a run of recent, picking up the title and becoming the youngest champion in Forbidden Violence, overachieving in the eyes of everybody excluding himself. Jameson has also looked fantastic since joining FV, going unbeaten and winning both his fights in the first round so he was clear choice to be the first challenger for Brooks’ title. Brooks has been a true rising star as he has shot up not only the P4P rankings but also in popularity with the fans, the only question mark over Brooks is can he go the distance, both these men like to finish so we may not find out on Friday night but it will be a question asked of him in the future whether he’s champion or not.

Once again on paper it does appear as if the “BabyFace” will be completely out matched by his opposition but as eluded to earlier, this is something of a regular occurrence now, as he won the title in shock fashion beating Volk Kruth in the first round of the fight. The questions will begin to be asked as the fight goes deeper, with Brooks losing 2 of his 3 decisions – all unanimously. Normally Jesse Jameson loves to go for the finish and knock his opponents out but one could pose the question, should he play more defensive and look to take Brooks the distance.

Undercard

Hannibal “The Cannibal” Die Rücksichtslos (33-19)(2-0) v Oleg Karev (29-14)(Debut)

Oleg Karev may have lost his last two fights in MMA, but they were in top promotion Ascension and one was for the title, once his contract came up he decided it was time for a change of pace and he came to FV to dominate another division. His first challenge will be the so-far-undefeated Die Rücksichtslos, “The Cannibal” has been loving his time in FV and will be looking to take another victory to make it three straight but both these men know the other won’t be a walk over.

These men are both happy to see a fight out to the finish and are in superb condition, although they are equally happy to throw haymakers and try take their opponents block off. Both men also have a phenomenal head kick which could come from anywhere to finish an opposition and end the fight. The real question will be which fighter takes the initiative, comes out the aggressor and looks to put their opponent away with exposing themselves to a quick counter that will put them on the back foot for the rest of the fight or finish it there.

Diego “The genetic jackhammer" Diaz (13-10-1)(Debut) v DeAngelo Suggs (8-3-0)(Debut)

Two more debutants go head to head in the third match-up of the night and both will want to put in a strong showing as “The genetic jackhammer” faces a young man that doesn’t need or want a nickname as he wants “the fans to remember my name not a gimmick”. Suggs is fortunate as manager Matt Mac is considered one of the top 100 managers in the Tycoon world and will have made sure not only the time but also the money into preparing Suggs for a debut against a former GAMMA competitor goes according to plan and launches his client to new heights. Diaz will really be looking to glaze over unsuccessful stints in GAMMA and TTFC with a victory on his debut fight for FV. Vegas odds have Suggs down as favourite to continue his win streak to 5 in a row but Diaz is a whole another level to the 4 previous victims of Suggs and he’ll have to find some extra gears to finish this fight in the way he did those, with victory.

New Lightweight Title Match

Nycky Downtime (28-24-2)(Debut) v Ring Vinayagamoorthy (4-5-0)(Debut)

Two debutants will face off this Friday for a vacant lightweight title; the title itself will be on the line for the first time in the history of Forbidden Violence as they have begun to develop their 155lbs lightweight division. The two new boys facing off for the title are Downtime and Vinayagamoorthy, who both look set to kick start the titles history with a bang. Some argue that the Dutchman doesn’t deserve the title shot and it should be given to a more successful fighter in the division but owner Frank King is very much about “what have you done for me lately” and Vinayagamoorthy did a great job going the distance and dominating Porter until the last round where his performance began to tail off. The fans will be hoping this one doesn’t need a last round though as these warriors go full out to grab the belt, it’ll be interesting to see whether the underdog can rise up or if experienced submission artist Downtime can break his opposition before the end of the fight.

Opener

Cletus “The All-American” White (15-15)(0-2) v Macadam Baird (10-5)(3-2)

“The All-American” White will be wanting to forget about his last two Forbidden Violence bouts as he looks to gain a victory over a so far impressive Macadam Baird, who was unlucky in his last outing to lose to Simengwa with such little time remaining in the round before he tapped. Ironically the man with the collegiate wrestling background may be out-wrestled in this one as Baird is a fantastic wrestler in his own right and more than able to hold his own when exchanging holds. This bout will not have the fans captivated in the way any of the other fights will on the night but it is more than good enough to open the card and get the fans pumped for the events later in the evening.

As said through-out this report, us here at Championship Press Association could not be more excited about Forbidden Violence’s 20thweekly event as it truly does have some real talent and class on the card, 3 amazing title matches will happen on the night and the rest of the card is so strong one of them is in the undercard and the other two didn’t make the main or co-main events. This bodes well for the future of the company as their will be a lot of talents emerge from the bouts tonight as potential challengers for titles. You have to imagine that, in particular, Abel “Amazin” Speed will be live and have his eyes on several fights tonight with 4 key contenders for his title facing off to make themselves stand-out in the eyes of owner and matchmaker Frank King. Join us live in person or watch this space for the review following the event for all of the action and fall-out coming from this stacked card.

FV #20 – The Beat-up in the Bay – Review

Saturday 17th May @ Wandalay Bay (Attendance: 12,000)

This past Saturday, the Beat up in the Bay took place at Wandalay Bay in front of a capacity crowd of 12,000, as Forbidden Violence brought to you their 20th weekly show. The weeks card featured a main event that had attracted so much attention it kept three title matches out of the top slot, with Leroy Brown facing off against Bill Roberts – both undefeated in FV.

Main Event

“Bad Bad” Leroy Brown (34-15-2)(1-0) v Billy “The Really Good” Roberts (15-2-0)(1-0)

These two relative new boys had the honour of main eventing the 20th weekly card in Forbidden Violence history and with both being former champions in other organisations, most fans predicted it’d be likely that these two will be gunning for the heavyweight belt sooner rather than later. “The Really Good” Roberts was coming into this one off the back of 6 straight professional MMA victories and was living up to, if not exceeding, his moniker in “Really Good” fashion, with every one of those victories being by KO or TKO.

The fight displayed all the great qualities these two men have, determination, heart and great jaws! Despite that this will not go down as an all-time classic, or even as fight of the night as Roberts controlled the fight through-out and both men seemed gassed by the end of the second round - Something the FV fans were not expecting to see in the main event of such a big card!

Roberts took the fight by unanimous decision (27:30) and the fans gave them a respectable round of applause, although it was clear from the look and comments made by “Bad Bad” Leroy Brown post match he was not happy with the fight and didn’t feel the fans got true value from their fight. He also went onto question the future of his career, saying; 'Well I think it is time to go back to our camp and take hard look not only my career but more importantly my future, perhaps the time has come to call it a day'. Is this Brown calling quits or irrational post fight disappointment? We’ll stay on top of this one as it breaks from Forbidden Violence.

Co-Main Event

Gegard Mousasi (25-9-1)(1-0) v “The Saviour” Philip Negan (11-8-0)(0-1)

Negan left TMG the champion of the Light Heavyweight over there for an opportunity to fight in Forbidden Violence and after his first fight, a loss against now title challenger Ramirezovic, he may now be regretting that, but he had chance to change his fortunes against former GAMMA fighter, Gegard Mousasi.

It was clear from the offset what the game plan for Mousasi was, close the distance, then gain the takedown, whether from shooting in from distance or in the clinch. From there, once the fight was at the ground, Mousasi (who dominated the first round) looked to advance his position until his opponent left any of his limbs exposed for a submission. With 6 attempted submissions from Mousasi in the first round alone, it was a very tiring fight for both men, whether on defence or offense.

The second round was similar, as Negan brought the fight to the clinch, Mousasi worked hard for the take-down and got it, taking control on the ground game once their again. With his first submission attempt of the second round, Mousasi looked to lock in a choke hold and this time Negan had no defense for it, only being able to tap out to prevent further damage. Mousasi looked delighted with the victory and thanked the fans for their support, as that is why he left GAMMA and joined FV.

.

Main Card

Memento Mori (15-6)(2-0) v Jase Robertson (22-9)(2-1)

After losing to Abel “Amazin” Speed in the title fight, Jase Robertson was looking to come back with a bang against the man that beat a former All-American wrestler in Cletus White by out wrestling him, that man is Memento Mori. This fight had a very surreal feel going into it as both men were coming in on a high and both are very over with the Forbidden Violence crowd, with as much noise being made for one man’s entrance as the others.

The fight was one of the most entertaining of the night and had it have gone on for a little longer it would’ve easily been Fight of the Night. Both men came out the gets with the intention to finish the other immediately and both me were bleeding within 30 seconds of the start, as the fight seemed as if it was going to cool down a little, Mori shot for a take-down that would ultimately be the beginning of the end of the fight. From their Mori tried a submission that was defended expertly by a resistant Robertson but from the mount Mori was able to unload strike after strike and eventually, he landed one that left Robertson rocked. From there it was routine, with Mori landing several more undefended before the official jumped in to separate the men as the fans exploded. A fantastic win for Mori on Saturday night, but what does that spell for Jase Robertson? Is Memento Mori in with a shout for a title match with Abel Speed after that dominant win? That remains to be seen, but one thing that is for sure, is keep your eyes on Mori.

Eliod “Scooter” Bunkley Iii (17-4-1)(3-1-1) v “The lion of Matema” Baraka Simengwa (12-9-0)(1-0-0)

A battle of the submission artists was what the fans were expecting to place at Forbidden Violence #20 and unsurprisingly that’s exactly what was delivered. Two of the most technically capable guys, not only on in the division, but on the entire roster faced off Friday night when Bunkley Lii faced Simengwa in the 185lbs division.

Both men were happy to spend near enough the whole fight on the mat, and when you’ve got to competitors this good when down there; the fans love to see it as well! For the entire first round the two men went back and forth controlling the position and attempting submission attempts, only to be thwarted by the other. As the round came to an end, the fans exploded with noise in appreciation for the standard of BJJ and Wrestling they had just witnessed. Most will feel Bunkley Lii edged it as he scored the take down and controlled well early on but it was an incredibly close round.

Initially the second and third round was the same with both men going to the ground and battling for position but Simengwa seemed to tire quicker, and seemed to have less energy to advance his position or move from leaving Bunkley Lii in his favoured top guard. Simengwa seemed to be attempting submissions more in defence to recuperate and protect than to finish Bunkley Lii but “Scooter” got the break and his control paid off when he was able to posture up once again in Simengwa’s guard and deliver some solid ground and pound with the hammer fists that put his opponent’s lights out. At the conclusion of the fight, when it was announced Bunkley Lii had won by TKO Strikes, the crowd applauded both men as they embraced after the hard fought bout. A real gem of a fight and a true education for any aspiring MMA talents, looking at how they can improve their ground game.

Welterweight Title Bout

Champion Adam Duritz (3-0)(3-0) v Mikio “Flame666” Okita (37-22)(4-1)

On paper this bout looked like the ultimate ground vs grappler fight with Duritz having the advantage on his feet in this fight but challenger Okita being considered truly as one of the best in the world in terms of ground game ability and in reality it was very much the case, with both men living up to expectation and taking this title fight deep into the third.

Very little surprising about this bout but it was a solid fight none the less, with the champion Duritz looking great on his feet but no match for Okita once Okita could cover the ground and get the take-down. The finish came deep in the third, after a large stretch where Duritz seemed to be in control, when out of nowhere Okita scored a great take-down. Okita went straight for the triangle hold as soon as they landed and was able to synch it in, with 1minute 30seconds left to run of the round Duritz knew he couldn’t hold out and tapped, surrendering the victory and the title. With a new Welterweight champion – Mikio Okita – the Welterweight division sure looks on it’s way to being one of the most competitive in the company.

Featherweight Title Fight

Champion Jimmy “BabyFace” Brooks (7-2)(3-0) v “Jesse” James Jameson (18-9)(2-0)

At 23 years of age, the man they call “BabyFace”, Jimmy Brooks has been on something of a star turn since his debut in Forbidden Violence, winning every fight and becoming the youngest champion in the organisations relatively short history. Despite his quick rise to success he remains confident in his abilities but he faced a stern challenge from “Jesse” James Jameson (only three years his senior) on Friday night.

And a test it truly was for Brooks who, unfortunately for his fans around the world, failed poorly, when he was comprehensively beaten by a superior opposition in Jameson, who Knocked-Out Brooks in the first round. “BabyFace” never looked like having a chance from the offset as Jameson dominated, with some heavy strikes. Eventually he rocked Brooks and then knocked him down to the mat, as the fans thought it was over, Brooks tried to pull himself together but moments later the fans thoughts were confirmed as “Jesse” landed several heavy shots to knock him into the middle of next week as the official called an end to the bout.

For his in-cage ability Jameson will become an all-time favourite after this bout but for his post-fight persona he’s become known as the marmite man, due to the arrogance he displayed post fight splitting public opinions on him down the middle, it’ll be interesting to see how he is received during his entrance to his next fight.

Undercard

Hannibal “The Cannibal” Die Rücksichtslos (33-19)(2-0) v Oleg Karev (29-14)(Debut)

Oleg Karev may have lost his last two fights in MMA but he now had a fresh start in Forbidden Violence, although his first match would prove to be a test against a man who came into the fight 2-0 in FV. Ultimately, despite an early scare with a strong kick to the mid-section, Karev came through victor in dominant fashion, taking down his opponent to unsettle him and then when they were stood up delivering a big right cross to his opponents draw dropping Rucksichtslos to the floor to take the KO victory.

Diego “The genetic jackhammer" Diaz (13-10-1)(Debut) v DeAngelo Suggs (8-3-0)(Debut)

Two more debutants featuring in this match go head to head as Diaz faced Suggs in what proved to be a three round war between the two. Both men were cut open in the first round but both also arrived at the final bell on their feet, looking like they could go a couple more and after performances that strong, a title shot for the winner – Suggs by Unanimous Decision (28:29) – might not be out the question if he pulls another victory out the bag like that against tough opposition.

New Lightweight Title Match

Nycky Downtime (28-24-2)(Debut) v Ring Vinayagamoorthy (4-5-0)(Debut)

Two debutants will faced off this Saturday just passed for the – at the time – vacant lightweight title; the title itself was on the line for the first time in the history of Forbidden Violence as the organisation have begun to develop their 155lbs lightweight division. The fight itself wasn’t as landmark as the as the significance of it/its result. Vinayagamoorthy took the victory and the title along with it, when he hit a huge right hook and left Downtime turtling on the floor, as the official called a stop to the bout and award Vinayagamoorthy the win by TKO

Opener

Cletus “The All-American” White (15-15)(0-2) v Macadam Baird (10-5)(3-2)

Opening the card on Saturday night was two men who have struggle in recent weeks but in this fight it would prove to be Macadam Baird who would pull off the victory (by TKO) in a performance that was by far the most dominant on the card. Although White got to the second round, he was never in the fight being beaten from pillar to post and looking more like a bloodied rag doll at points during the fight, rather than a former collegiate all American wrestler. Baird finally put White away in the middle of the second round when he hit White hard and then followed in before the official decided enough was enough.

Forbidden Violence delivered one of its best cards tonight, as it brought a full attendance crowd in the Bay it’s 20th weekly show. Highlights of the show were definitely the Welterweight title bout between Okita and Duritz along with the match-up featuring Bunkley Lii and Simengwa. Although the main and co-main events weren’t the best fights on the card in reality, they didn’t disappoint on the other side of things, so FV can really consider this show to be one of their finer and look forward to the long future they hope to have!

Daniel Dylan appeared to be excited after last Saturdays training session when Forbidden Violence proposed a title bout following his latest success in the 145 Pound Division. The Fight was announced as the Co-Main Event earlier today and so Daniel posed for his fans on Twitter, following this mornings session at the Gym. He seemed confident and eager to take on his opponent, stating, "Its going to be a tough match up, yanoe. I've seen that guy fight, we will go toe to toe; hopefully I'll knock him out early and take away the title for my fans but if not ill try securing a decision win."

FV #21 – GAME TIME! (Preview)

Live @ MMA Grand (17,157) on Saturday 24th May

Out of MMA Grand for the first time in its existence Forbidden Violence brings to you their 21st weekly show as they present, GAME TIME! A card headlined by the arrival of the former no.1 265lbs fighter on the Tycoon world. We also have a title match in the superheavyweight division with Mirko McCraken defending his title against Nick Foles.

25-year-old young gun gets a shot at the former #1

As Ole Solseng (13-6-0) face the man formally known as Paul Smith (26-7-1) in a super heavyweight showdown!

Until a few weeks ago, MMA fans across the world knew the name of Paul Smith, a man some say is clinically insane due his habbit of living in Camel manure. Smith recently changed his name also; to match his new found Islamic believes, to Mohammed Sheik Allah Ali Baba Mohammed. Across the cage from his on Saturday night will be a top competitor in “Big Iron”, who had an outstanding start to his career until his recent struggles in Evil Empire but Soleseng is ready to bounce back against that former #1 265+lbs fighter of the world.

This fight will be a tough contest, as Mohammed will be battling the forces of expectancy and Soleseng will look to overcome the odds by putting a beating on Saudi Arabian. This fight will be evenly contested on the feet and this is where Solseng will look to keep it, as if the fight goes to the ground, Mohammed’s BJJ and experience may come into play and he’ll look to seize control of the fight and Ole. “Big Irons” biggest issue will be predictability, as he loves to throw hands and will look for that big punch to put his opposition on dream-street, Mohammed on the other hand is less predictable and will be looking to pick up the win the way he finds most suitable.

Heavyweight Hard Hitters Fight Away From Home

Battle of the Russians as Rubezhnoe faces Moscow with a bout between Fedor "The Last Emperor" Emelianenko (36-24) and Oleg Karev (30-14)

Two veteran Russians face off on Saturday night when “The Last Emperor” Emelianenko matches up with Oleg Karev in a battle that the fans won’t want to miss. Fedor Emelianenko makes his debut in Forbidden Violence and will be looking to impress after a large period in top organisation Ascension. Karev made his debut only last week at FV #20 and wanted compete a mere one week later due to the profile of his opposition. He began his FV career with an incredibly dominant first round KO victory over Die Rücksichtslos.

Of the two fighters Emelianenko is more versatile, able to pick up victories by either submission or KO but Karev has an intimidating and powerful stand-up game, with strikes to put some fear into the most powerful of opposition. The pace of the fight will most likely be guided by Emelianenko, as if he wants to take Karev down, he may struggle but if he gets it, the fight will be at his pace. Karev will want to keep the distance and use his reach to strike from distance but if it’ll be successful remains to be seen. While Emelianenko will prefer the take down and ground game, his stand-up should not be underestimated. One thing is really for sure, you do not want to have a bathroom break during this fight!

Super-Heavyweight Title Fight

No more needs to be said, it’s champion Mirko "The Angel Of Death" McCracken (17-7) making his first defence against Nick Foles (5-0)

The only title match of the card has the feeling of being an absolute slug fest between two of Forbidden Violence’s hottest fighters at the moment. “The Angel of Death” enters the fight champion and will be looking to seal the fate of hot, young, undefeated upstart Nick Foles. Foles may be a youngster but he is very old school in his no gimmicks and simply hard work attitude, which has caught the eye of many since his time in FV – even more so due to the fact he’s 3-0 in the company.

A fight like this only has one appropriate ending, a big bang finish, with a huge knockout after several rounds of heavy shots breaking down the defence of the other man, cutting and knocking down one another till the other man is completely unable to stand. That is in an idea world but if any fight on the card was going to give you that. I’d be this one with Mirko winning 16 times by (T)KO and every Foles fight ending with one man out cold on the canvas, we hope to see the same. While the champion should go in favourite, it’s hard to look past the fact that Foles has finished every opponent in the first round, this is one to really keep your eye on folks and we here at Championship Press Association certainly are.

Atlantic War in the Cage

Yank Damien "RDX" Garcia (19-9) faces the Limey Ford "The Alien" Prefect (18-13)

“RDX” is a man of many things inside the Forbidden Violence cage, but one of them is not decision finished. He has only ever had 7 in his 28 fight career and 5 of which he has lost; this is something he shares with “The Alien”. Prefect is also the ultimate submission man in not only FV but also the world of MMA, he looks to take advantage of a worn down opponent and force him to tap the second he leaves any limbs exposed.

The only thing Prefect may struggle with in this fight is managing to get the take-down on a very resilient wrestler like Damien Garcia as this cross Atlantic Ocean battle takes place. The American will most likely want to keep the fight on his feet and look to clinch box to utilize his strength, although he will have to be careful for the Muay Thai elbows and knees of “The Alien” as he isn’t afraid to show. If they do go to the ground, Prefect won’t have an easy time of getting the submission set, but if he gets a hold, he sure as hell won’t let go!

Undefeated Streaks in FV on the Line

Bang Bang (31-17) takes a shot at stopping Hildebrand Gardiner Wright Blackwood (15-11) from getting his third FV victory in a row

Both fighters are undefeated in Forbidden Violence and both will be looking to keep it that way with the more experienced Bang Bang looking to knock off the younger Hildebrand Gardiner Wright Blackwood. Despite only being 6 years Blackwood’s senior, Bang Bang has significantly more experience in the cage than his younger opponent, having fought near double the fights Blackwood has – will this play a factor in Saturdays fight?

Most feel the veteran may be taking a challenge to far as Blackwood appears to be both the stronger grappler on the ground with a Black Belt in BJJ and the superior striker but how will the cage experience of Bang factors into the fight remains to be seen and makes this bout hard to predict. From comments made by the Bang camp, it seems he may try to make the fight scrappy, less about technique and more about heart but he’ll have to bring Blackwood down to that level for that to work and the 29-year-old has been very impressive showing no signs that tactic will work if tried on.

Cage of Explosions

When the Human Handgrenade, Charles "The Hand Grenade" Handly (25-18) looks to blow Marlon "The Predator" Worthy’s (25-16) plan of beating him to pieces

If you asked me to name two fighters who are so similar yet also worlds apart it would be these two, in terms of skill and record they are very similar but their paths there are very different. Worthy has put together several solid runs and lost a couple fights here and there in the way most fighter’s careers turn out once they reach a certain level of competition. “The Hand Grenade” Handly really has had an explosive career and in his last organisation he went on a massive run of 8 consecutive wins, with 5 of those being title fights but in his 5th defence of the Bushido 155lbs title Handly began a 5 straight losing streak. This is something Worthy will be looking to capitalize on as Handly looks for a fresh start.

This is a fight that could finish at any point but really does have the potential to go the distance, both fighters know what it takes to get a knock-out but will they want to go all out or will they be content to trade and try counter each other. Either is a reasonable possibility as their records consist of a near 50/50 split of (T)KO and Decision victories. If you can count on one thing, it is that these two veterans of the cage will be putting on a show for the fans and it isn’t a fight you want to miss.

And Finally…. The Undercard!

"Quick Popper" Orville Redenbacher (35-13-1) vs Kingsley Ciprut (16-11-1)

After having fought in GAMMA and Syndicate, some would’ve been forgiving in saying Ciprut was taking a step down but credit is to be given to the Forbidden Violence roster as he currently stands 1-1 in FV giving more fuel to the fire to the debate of just how strong the FV roster is! “Quick Popper” will want to make that 1-2 as he looks to return to the kind of form he had before losing his title fight against Barksdale which appeared to shake his confidence after the tough decision loss. This fight will even go to a decision or finish in the first round in the eyes of most, so look for an explosive (T)KO finish early or settle in for the long haul as these two warriors fight it out to see who can come out on top.

Mark "Mean Streak" Tanner (15-14) vs The Steel Penn Alliance (5-9)

3 fights and 3 losses for The Steel Penn Alliance, he just can’t catch a break at the moment having really been outclassed in every single one of his bouts and some are questioning if this will be his last fight as his contract comes up at the end. Tanner on the other has faced some very stiff opposition and put out some solid performances unlucky really only to have the one win since joining the org. An impressive win on Saturday for Tanner could really secure him a new contract with Forbidden Violence. As you look at it this fight will most likely come down to a battle of confidence and heart, from which they’ll have to draw from deep down to take the win but you have to feel that Penn Alliance won’t take “Mean Streak” Tanner the distance as “RDX” or Barksdale did, so we are most likely looking at a first or second round finish in this one.

Brian Redban (15-10) vs "Tap U Out" Teddy Bass (8-2)

A cardio machine in the shape of Brian Redban looks to give his fans the full money’s worth having gone the distance 13 times out of the 25 he has fought. His opposition Teddy Bass prefers to finish the fights early using any number of different holds. While Bass does have some knock-out power, he prefers a technical battle and will want the fight on the ground so he can try gain the submission. Radban’s versatile style may be a risk in this fight as he faces Bass and his ground game may not quiet be enough to hold up to that of Bass’ but that remains to be seen. An interesting fight indeed, between two guys most definitely on the rise despite struggles in recent months that they’ll look to glaze over with the help of an impressive win on Saturday.

Karl Pilkington (4-1) vs Jeremy Henderson (12-11)

Jeremy Henderson makes his debut for FV off the back of two losses, although performances prior to that were impressive – although since leaving CFFC he’s never quiet looked the same but we’ll see what he has to offer the Nevada crowd. While Pilkington looks to get back on track with a win after losing his debut in Forbidden Violence against Oil Slick but maybe that was just cage rust as he had come back off a 9 month hiatus. It’ll be interesting to see how Henderson approaches this one, as he has the advantage on the stand-up but has been more prolific when going to the ground. While Pilkington favours the ground, he knows how strong his opposition is there and may have to adapt.

Forbidden Violence has done a great job thus far of delivering cards that have kept the fans on their feet and excited for the next. Obviously some huge hype around the arrival of Mohammed Sheik Allah Ali Baba Mohammed (formally Paul Smith) but Ole Solseng is one of the most popular fighters on the card tonight despite being huge underdog and will have the fans in his corner. FV continues to grow well, from being infront of 5,000 people 3 weeks ago, to a potential 17,000+ is huge and we can’t wait to see you their at MMA Grand!

FV #21 – Game Time

Live @ MMA Grand (17,157) on Saturday 24th May

On its debut at the MMA Grand arena, Forbidden Violence delivered its best ever event this past Saturday (24th May) as a stacked card, featuring a title match between two Super-havyweights in McCraken and Foles faced off. The main event is where our review begins with the man formerly known as Paul Smith faced Ole Solseng.

Main Event

Mohammed Sheik Allah Ali Baba Mohammed (26-7-1) v Ole “Big Rig” Solseng (13-6-0)

The man formerly known as PaulSmith but now as devoted Muslim, Mohammed Sheik Allah Ali Baba Mohammed, faced off against Ole “Big Rig” Solseng on Saturday night, with Mohammed being strong favourite in this one on his highly anticipated debut for Forbidden Violence. Manager Texas Goon before the fight was looking for Solseng to turn his “Big Rig” around after a disappointing last fight which resulted in a TKO loss against Holy Jenova. This fight was possibly the most anticipated non-title fight in the history of the company and boy, did it live up to the expectation!

The fight went the full 15 minute distance as the two top-class competitors fought back and forth trying to gain an advantage. One question asked coming in was would Solseng be able to stand up to the intense wrestling and ground game of Mohammed and that question was answered very simply early on in the fight. No. Mohammed scored a take down before a strike was thrown and proceeded to pour on pressure on Solseng before a stand-up forced by the ref but as the fight went on as “Mo” scored a further 4 takedowns in the fight and battered his opponent when forced to trade blows with “Big Rig”, cutting him open before the end of the first.

When it came for the judges to make their decision the result was never in doubt and showed no real signs of a result away from a Mohammed Sheik Allah Ali Baba Mohammed win, which he was awarded by unanimous decision (30:27). In this fight Solseng may have shown some great determination and strength not to be finished before the final bell but it does raise questions about whether he can compete with competitors at the top level. A question with Texas Goon (now former manager of Solseng) wouldn’t give a clear answer on. Later in an interview “Big Rig” said he and his manager split because he felt he wasn’t allowed or given the opportunity to train in the best facilities. It’ll be interesting to see if Ole Solseng can make a comeback with a new manager and if it’ll be working alongside Forbidden Violence.

Co-Main Event

Fedor “The Last Emperor” Emelianenko (36-24) v Oleg Karev (30-14)

Everybody had been calling it, everybody had be predicting how this would play out. Karev is a stand and bang guy and while Emelianenko can box with the best, he would have to get to the ground to find any success against a phenomenal Muay Thai boxer like Karev. It would be difficult enough getting him down but if “The Last Emperor” didn’t at least try he would’ve survive long, just like the 23 who Karev has already knocked out during his career.

As the fight began there was a huge buzz around the arena, these two former champions, titans of the Heavyweight division and here they were, meeting in Forbidden Violence on “The Last Emperor’s” debut. The buzz turned to shock, as Emilianenko failed to get close to taking down Karev, as the Russian pummelled the other Russian. After only a couple minutes Emelianenko defence caved in and Karev landed a huge blow to send his opposition to the mat. With the fans going ballistic for the finish Karev let Emelianenko up to his feet, only to finish him with a couple of huge punches busting him open and leaving him out on the mat, to take the KO victory.

Super Heavyweight Title Fight

Mirko “The Angel of Death” McCracken(17-7) v Nick Foles (5-0)

Not many fights get built up to the extent this one does and neither do many fighters get as much hype and press as “The Angel of Death”. Saturday night he faced Nick Foles in a 5 rounds of 5 minutes title match to decide who the best Super Heavyweight in Forbidden Violence really is. McCraken was looking for his 3rd straight win and his first defence of his title while Foles wanted to take the belt and become the undefeated champion of the weight class, something very few achieve in their professional MMA careers.

They may have had 25 minutes but all these two men needed where one and a half as, in one of the biggest shocks of the night, Nick Foles defeated “The Angel of Death” by TKO after a mere 1minute24seconds. The finish came when Foles decided to end the feeling out process with a huge uppercut out of nowhere that flawed McCraken and Foles didn’t dive in under the assumption McCraken was out but with no stoppage Foles waved Mirko to his feet and they fought on, for 10 more seconds. Foles landed the final blow when he countered with a nice right to the jaw and then pounded McCraken with strikes against the cage until the official stopped the bout. The new champion was received greatly by the Forbidden Faithful as they gave him a standing ovation as he was awarded the belt. The target is on your back now Foles, can you handle it?

Main Card

Damien “RDX” Garcia(19-9) v Ford Prefect (18-13)

These two great competitors came into this fight with contrasting fortunes as “RDX” had won his last FV fight despite losing his first and Perfect coming off the back of a hard loss in his last Hilo Fight appearance. It was Garcia who took the win and gave himself back to back victories with a 2-1 record in FV. In another ground dominated submission and holds based fight that Garcia sneaked the win by Unanimous Decision (29:28). Garcia’s successful striking and ground’n’pound while on the mat impressed the judges more than Perfects defensive submissions. Some though with Ford coming into a new organisation he’d feel a fresh start but his hard luck continues giving “The Alien” back to back loses.

“Bang” Bang Bang (32-17) v Hildebrand Gardiner Wright Blackwood (15-11)

These two fighters coming in seemed really evenly matched on their feet and the ground, so the question really was which man would take the initiative and take control. Outside of a really quick, clinical combination from bang the one round fight was fairly uneventful until the finish, with both men mainly feeling out and neither man landing a particularly large amount of shots. The finish came when Bang landed a solid overhand right knocking Blackwood to the canvas face first, which Bang followed up with a series of shots raining down on a motionless Blackwood before the official could intervene to award a TKO victory to Bang. Controversy surrounding the speed in which an official holts a MMA bout being called into question once against here at FV #21 because surely that was a slow stoppage as Blackwood appeared to be out cold as he hit the mat.

Charles “The Hand Grenade” Handly v Marlon “The Predator” Worthy

The human “Hand Grenade” lived up to his name with an aggressive and explosive performance when he met the man they call “The Predator”. Handly had joined FV looking to end a recent run of 5 straight losses and was looking to prove to both the world and himself that he could still get the job done. He definitely proved that as he controlled the fight, managing 3 takedowns and nearly forcing Worthy into submitting on his way to claiming a unanimous decision victory (30:27, 30:27, 29:28 in Handly’s favour). The fight was one of the more mediocre on the card, with the explosive takedowns and slams from Handly being the highlights of the fight. It won’t win any awards or gather much attention but it was the much needed win “The Hand Grenade” was after as he searched for a win to boost his confidence. A fresh start and proving grounds for both men with very conflicting starts to being their respective FV careers.

Undercard

Orville Redenbacher (35-13-1) v Kingsley Ciprut (16-11-1)

The only fight of the undercard not to make it to the third round saw Orville Redenbacher get battered for the entire first round by Ciprut who cut him open on a couple of occasions early one but at the end of the round Kingsley Cipruts moment was stumped as he looked for the kill. The 30second break was all Redenbacher needed to come back into the second a (almost) new man and his performance reflected that. Redenbacher controlled the second round before knocking down Ciprut with a big uppercut before following in for the kill. Ciprut held his own, despite being on dream-street, and the kid has a solid chin but it wasn’t enough as Redenbacher took the W by TKO. The heart Redenbacher showed in this one will have really impressed his coaches and fans alike to come back from such a beating in the first round!

Mark “Mean Streak” Tanner (15-14) v The Steel Penn Alliance (5-9)

As you watch many men grow, there are always a couple that fall away. Alliance is one of those men who has not been able to get it done and has steadily fallen away from being a hot prospect to another guy who threw away his chance but King had thrown him one more match to impress. Unfortunately it was another story of how Alliance got rag dolled then put out for the count as his opponent – in this case Mark Tanner – takes the victory. Alliance managed to get to the third round before an incredible uppercut spelled the signs of the end as Tanner fired of undefended shots to a broken Penn Alliance to finish the fight.

Brian Redban (15-10) v Teddy Bass (8-2)

This fight was easily one of the most technical contests on the card with a combined 21 submission attempts between the two grapplers. Teddy Bass took his win total up to 9 and made himself a more notable contender when he took the unanimous decision 30:27. A result while well deserved, he was not content with expressing his disappointment not to finish his opponent and make him a stand out contender for James Jameson’s title. Even without finishing Redban it does generate interest though and it’ll be interesting to see just how FV owner Frank King sees it.

Karl Pilkington (4-1) v Jeremy Henderson (12-11)

Most opening fights are viewed as a way to get the crowd engaged as two fairly unknown fighters go and give a solid performance, Pilkington and Henderson did this and more! The two men engaged in a three round war that did not only grab the audience’s attention but also their respect and admiration as this was one of the best fights of the night. The fight had it all, stand-up, solid ground game, takedowns, counters, the lot and it got really interesting in the final round.

With just over a minute gone Pilkington countered Henderson’s leg kick with a huge right that would knock down any man on the roster but Henderson stayed composed as Pilkington dived down and landed another huge shot rocking him, but Henderson wasn’t out. He tried to get hold of a counter submission with the next thrown punch and then transitioned into the guillotine which Pilkington scraped out of. The finish finally came when Pilkington got out into side control and landed a massive shot, opening Henderson up to shots he could no longer defend forcing the official to step in with 2 minutes to go. Pilkington walks off with the win by TKO. Both men can consider themselves unlucky as had their fight been on the main card, a lot of fans feel they would’ve been awarded Fight of the Night.

Of The Night Awards

Fight of the Night: Mohammed Sheik Allah Ali Baba Mohammed vs Ole Solseng

KO of the Night: Oleg Karev

Sub of the Night: N/A

Forbidden Violence truly delivered an amazing event this past Saturday, continuing to outdo themselves every week. The event was so impressive it received a rating of 332.75 from governing body MMA Tycoon! Real standout performances of the night have to be form the main events, with Mohammed and Solseng wining fight of the night and Karev winning KO of the night but also from the opening bout between Pilkington and Henderson which could’ve been fight of the night on any other card. The audience were pumped and great as normal with a large number of fans (along with more emerging fighters) wearing Forbidden Violence shirts, produced by Championship Clothing. If you haven’t already, you really need to get yourself to the next FV show, keep an eye on this company because it’s really coming on fast.

Forbidden Violence vs Honor FC 1

Live at the MMA Grand Arena (capacity: 17,157) in Las Vegas, NV

Event Coverage Sponsored by Championship Clothing - Sponsorship, Reasonably Priced Quality Clothing and Negotiable Laundry

Forbidden Violence brings to you their first competitive monthly event against fellow rising organisation – Honor Fighting Championship. We here at Championship Press Association couldn’t be more excited about covering this event as Parks takes on Pitbull, Speed faces off with Rin and Johnson tried to kick us off to a great start against Martell. It’ll be an action packed event so watch out for it.

FV vs HFC – Main Event

*TEAM VIOLENCE* Lyoto Parks (16-5-0) v Roy "The Wardog" Pitbull (25-12-1) *TEAM HONOR*

This is the one most, including myself, feel it’ll come down to; it’s the last of the three Team Violence vs Team Honor fights on Saturday night in the first FV vs HFC events. Representing Forbidden Violence is Lyoto Parks who won his debut fight for FV at FV#18 in the first round. He’ll face the man they call “The Wardog” over in Honor FC, who has been on a tear through their featherweight division, already having won all 5 of his fights for them since his arrival from – now defunct – HEROIC.

The most worrying thing Parks will have to worry about is the versatility of Roy Pitbull, who since being in Honor FC has shown just what he is capable of and that he can truly beat anybody from any position. “The Wardog” boast two submissions (a kneebar and a triangle choke hold), two TKO’s and one decision victory. On the other side of the cage you have the Forbidden Violence new boy, who holds the weight of the company on his shoulders tonight, who will be focused on trading blows and knockout his opponent. While Parks has got solid BJJ skills and is a decent wrestler, he will want to use his wrestling to keep the fight standing if Pitbull bring it in the clinch or go for a takedown. This will be it fans, the fight to watch, it could all go down to the wire and the pressure will be madly on the home fans favourite if it’s 1-1 coming into this fight after the two earlier in the evening.

Co-Main Event

Doug Graves (23-13) v "The Saviour" Philip Negan (11-9)

This may not be a Forbidden Violence vs Honor Fight Championship bout but this bout between Graves and Negan is drawing almost as much attention as the bragging rights fights and that’s why it rightfully has been named the co-main event of the evening. Neither man is coming in on great form in recent bouts with Graves having only won 2 of his last 5 bouts and Negan on a two fight losing streat but that hasn’t seemed to knock the confidence of either man, if anything it has just boosted their training focus and intensity.

The fight is somewhat predictable in terms of the game-plans each competitor will be coming into the bout with, as Graves has the huge advantage on the striking front and Negan will need to avoid getting into a scrappy brawl or trading off blows as he’ll most likely come off worst. With that being said, Negan appears to hold the advantage on the ground. “The Saviour” has picked up 7 of his 11 wins by submission and Graves has never picked pa submission win so if they begin to roll, Negan could lock in a hold tight and finish from there. It may not have a major impact on the organisations credibility in the same way Rin vs Speed, Parks vs Pitbull does but it has a massive impact on the fighter’s futures and their credibility as serious threats to their respective future opponents.

FV vs HFC – 2nd Fight

*TEAM HONOR* Kaito "Tsunami" Rin (20-7-0) v Abel “Amazin” Speed (24-8-1) *TEAM VIOLENCE*

In the eyes of most, Abel “Amazin” Speed is more than what his nickname suggests, he is seen as the near perfect stand-up fighter, with lighting quick strikes and superb wrestling to keep him on his feet to get the KO. Coming across from Honor FC is Kaito Rin, the man known as the “Tsunami” and that’s because of the energy this man can produce. Rin isn’t just energy though, he has something that a lot claim to have, but very few can prove it, a near unlimited gas tank. This man is the definition of Cardio Machine and his 14 decision victories show that he can go the distance and still be impressive round after round. If anybody can threaten the FV fan favourite it is this man!

If Rin gets a finish it will likely be from submission, he has picked up 5 of those in his career but he definitely prefers to control his opponent and go the distance but out of the two he is the only one to have lost any of his last five bouts. Abel Speed has been phenominal – as you’d expect for the Middleweight Champion – having won his last 7 fights in a row and shows no sign of slowing down now! This has real potential to be fight of the night and if Team Violence is going to pick up a win tonight, my money would be on Abel Speed to do so. Can he make it 8 in a row and beat an incredibly impressive Kaito Rin, we’ll find out Saturday when these two square off.

Main Event

Jase Robertson (22-10) v "The Lion Of Matema” Baraka Simengwa (12-10)

Both men are off the back of losses but this shouldn’t be a distraction from the quality of the fight when you look at the quality of opponent they were defeated by (Abel Speed, Memento Mori and Bunkley Lii respectively). This fight attracts a lot of intrigue in my opinion, as Robertson – the ultimate stand and bang guy, with superb takedown defence and near faultless striking – faces the submission beast, “The Lion of Matema” Baraka Simengwa. Neither fighter is particularly hyped right now by Forbidden Violence (given recent records) but they are both still firm fan favourites and this is why this fight is so high on the card with so little hype. The Forbidden Faithful with go nuts for these guy win, lose or draw – the only question is what the result will emerge as. A 12 submission win for Simengwa or Robertson taking his 21st (T)KO – because nobody sees this fight going 10minutes, let alone 15!

Grigory "Iron Man" Gukepshev (10-2) v "The Mountain" Arnie McDougle (21-12)

The “Iron Man” is 10 and 2 but one of those 2 losses came in a fight here at Forbidden Violence when he made the step up, while “The Mountain” made a similar transition - although he did it by beating Paul Brown to take the W. These two will be expect to finish each other – or that’s at least ours and the fans hopes with 40 fights these men have competed in finishing before the final bell (out of a combined total of 45). Not much to say on these two except you’ve got to hope they go out and deliver, what a win would do for either man’s career here in FV can only be good and with reputations and records like theirs the sky is the limit – do they have the mentality and skillset to reach it though.

Samak “Zen” Tiyapairat (23-12) v Ange “Touchy” Fili (11-4)

This fight appears a bit of a miss-match on paper but when you look at how impressive Tiyapairat was in his fight against John Wensink – taking a win by TKO in the second round – it is obvious why he has taken on this fight against a seemingly superiors opponent. That opponent is Ange “Touch” Fili, the man who’s career since coming to FV shows a 2 -1 record with Mika Okita being the man to get the better of him. Fili has yet to go past the first round – win or lose – in his time with the promotion and fans will want more of the same with exciting fights and frantic early finishes, the only contrast to this is how deep “Zen” likes to take a round, taking the majority of his wins by decision after going the distance. It’ll be interesting to see how this one plays out but it’s got the potential to finish anywhere with both men liking to stand and strike if pushed into doing so.

FV vs HFC – Fight 1

*TEAM VIOLENCE* "Kid Southern Lights" Rebel Johnson (16-17) v Oberyn Martell (13-7) *TEAM HONOR*

Submission vs Stand-up, Violence vs Honor, it’s Johnson vs Martell in the third Forbidden Violence vs Honor Fighting Championship fight of the first cross-promotion event and this will get the ball rolling. If you believe in momentum then this will be the fight which could set the tone for the night and begin either a great night in the history of FV or set a very long, nerve racking night for owner Frank King on course. Johnson’s record is very deceiving, after a poor start to his career it has really picked up and he has gone 6-1 in his last 7 fights, showing he can go the distance by taking 4 wins by decision and finishing his opponents with submissions in the other two, which he’ll look to do to his opponent tonight. That man is a member of Team Honor – Oberyn Martell – who has had an up and down start to life in Honor FC, picking up only 2 wins out of 4 and one of which under very controversial circumstances with a majority decision. He prefers to stick to his feet and will be looking to not allow Johnson to take the fight to the mat, where Johnson is clearly the better BJJ player. Frank King is confident and you’ve got to hope “Kid Southern Lights” (Johnson) is too after his run of great form!

Undercard

"The Champagne of Beers" Miller HighLife (21-13-1) v Ashley Harrington (2-0-0)

If you’re going to put your money on anything when HighLife meets Harrington it should be that Saturday night we’ll whiteness a (T)KO finish of some kind, as these two men love to stand and bang. The fans will be hoping they lay it all on the line, leave it all in the cage and go on a full out war against one and other. I’m not brave enough to call a winner for this one but you’d have to suspect HighLife will play it smart with his experience edge, but Harrington comes in hot, young and fresh so this has all the makings of a unpredictable winner – even if the type of finish seems obvious to most.

Diego "The genetic jackhammer" Diaz (13-11-1) v "The All American" Jimmy Powers (8-7-0)

Neither of these two men got off to the great start that they were both expecting with losses respectively against DeAngelo Suggs and Jon Monroe. These two lightweight fighters will be looking to take a win that will serve as the beginning to change their careers around and start a successful stint at FV. These two are evenly matched and this fight has a potential to go the distance to a decision but “The Genetic Jackhammer” and “The All American” will be looking to dominate and control and this fight could end up anywhere!

"Sticky" Herb Green (7-5) v “Wizards” Gordon Matthews (7-6)

This is Green’s first weekly event for FV, as previously he’d only done the midweek shows, while Matthews has been with the organisation for a while, boating a 3-2 record since his arrival. This fight will be a tough one to call, as Matthews is a “Wizard” with his hands and will be looking to knock out the opposition early. Green will have a longer game plan and will be focused on getting the fight down to the mat and looking for the submission (where five of his seven wins have come from) and Matthews will be wise to use his superb wrestling ability to stop the fight from reaching the ground. It’s an entertaining fight to open the night, featuring two very contrasting fighters and it’ll be great to see who emerges victor.

We at CPA don’t normally like doing predications as part of a report as we normally prefer to stick to facts and avoid bias but under circumstances of cross promotion fights we’ll make an exception. I see it being a very close run thing between the organisations with it going into the last fight tied 1-1. Forbidden Violences best chance at victory must be considered as Abel Speed – the current 185lbs champions – but Parks and Jackson will look to impress, who knows what a win tonight could do for their respective careers here in Forbidden Violence! HGH Nutrients (Q160 - best in Tycoon!) will be sponsoring fight of the night awards as normal despite this being a cross promotional contest!

"Stallion" Johann Joensen

"I see FV#24 still needs a main event, what about the "Stallion" vs the young Bulgarian Upstart, Parvati Mellia?

Veteran vs Rookie, Undefeated streaks in Forbidden Violence and title on the line? Are you game kid, I wanna see what you've got!

And to Ring, I'm not overlooking you "Soul Captain", don't you worry.

To my challengers, I may wear a target - that comes from being champion - but it's on my front, cause none of you will EVER get my back."

Forbidden Violence vs Honor FC 1

Event Link

Live at the MMA Grand Arena (capacity: 17,157) in Las Vegas, NV

Forbidden Violence faced Honor FC for the first time in a series of events in which the two organisations will compete to show whose boss. With three great fights for bragging rights taking place, there are still seven other fights feature your regular Forbidden Violence stars as they go head to head to progress their careers!

FV vs HFC – Main Event

*TEAM VIOLENCE* Lyoto Parks (16-5-0) v Roy "The Wardog" Pitbull (25-12-1) *TEAM HONOR*

This was it, the main event, the final fight of the evening between Team Violence and Team Honor. It didn’t matter what the score was or the results earlier on in the night, all that mattered to these two men was this fight and which one would walk home the winner, with true bragging rights. It really was one of the fights of the night, as these two warriors took the fight the distance through to the third round and final bell.

The first round was a signal for things to come, close thought contests with neither man establishing clear control after a good takedown from Parks. The secnd round was similar but fighters kept to standing and showed how well rounded they are, sharing punches and kicks on the feet during striking exchanges. The third was what it came down to and it was even closer contested then the first two with the same action which the first and second round had shared. Both men fully deserving of the victory but as neither could finish the other it came down to the three judges around the cage. The scoring was unanimous and indelicate between each judge, first round: Pitbull, second round: Pitbull, third round: Draw, by unanimous decision, the winner is…. Roy Pitbull of Team Honor. The disappointment was etched across the face of Parks who had been phenomenal and the respect between the two men was clear (along with the exhaustion) as “The Wardog” showed his soft side and thanks FV for their hospitality and said he hoped he could be a part of the next event.

Winner: Team Honor

Co-Main Event

Doug Graves (23-13) v "The Saviour" Philip Negan (11-9)

The highest bout on the card to feature two competitors both as Forbidden Violence fighters when Graves and Negan faced off in the co-main event. Graves came in from Synchronicity and was looking for his second win in FV, while Negan wanted to get his first win in FV after his first two fights went to the opposition. The first round was the close affair that everybody expected, with Graves getting a takedown and controlling the cage well but Negan landed a big blow that cut Graves open late on in the round.

The second round was a different story as Graves dominated the round until finally after cutting, rocking, knocking down and near decapitating – just like old yeller – Graves finally put Negan down for good with a huge right. It really was a well-deserved win for the former Syn man, who will be glad he took control of the fight while the men were on their feet after his lacklustre stand up in the first round. Graves is one to look out for and new champion Jamalski Ramirezovic will have been watching him closely as a potential title contender.

FV vs HFC – 2nd Fight

*TEAM HONOR* Kaito "Tsunami" Rin (20-7-0) v Abel “Amazin” Speed (24-8-1) *TEAM VIOLENCE*

In the eyes of most Abel “Amazin” Speed was the most likely source of a win coming into the the event but even he couldn’t deliver on Saturday night, as the “Tsunami” washed him away and Rin walked away victor after 3 rounds by unanimous decision. Speed put up a valiant effort taking the second round by utilizing his Muay-Thai skills while in the clinch but was unable to pull out the same level of performance and overall control in either the first of the third round. Rin won the fight 29:28 but the real overall winners were the fans, with the only downside to this fight being their champion has lost. Drug testing has been called upon though after the image of Forbidden Violence was damaged more tonight by Abel Speed’s post match comments than their losses to Honor FC when Speed was quoted in saying post-fight; “Shouldn't have got too stoned ….. Oh well maybe a rematch is in order?”. This really has called into question the credibility of Speed as champion and no doubt owner Frank King will be looking for answers from his champion to what occurred in the lead-up to this fight.

Winner: Team Honor

Main Card

Jase Robertson (22-10) v "The Lion Of Matema” Baraka Simengwa (12-10)

Robertson was on of Forbidden Violence’s hottest attractions leading into his title fight with Abel Speed but since then he has added another loss and was hoping not to make this his third straight. On the other side of the cage he’d be staring across at Baraka Simengwa, a man who’s only FV loss comes against Bunkley Lii (one of FV’s hottest properties at the moment). The fight was what you’d expect from these two warriors – a back and forth contest that inevitably went the full distance. It emerged that due to his ground domination Simengwa was the winner by unanimous decision (28:29, 28:30, 28:29). Although Robertson was the stronger of the two stood-up, the fight was on the floor for him too long to really make a statement and Simengwa controlled most the way through the 15 minutes of solid action.

Grigory "Iron Man" Gukepshev (10-2) v "The Mountain" Arnie McDougle (21-12)

Domination was quite simply the name of the game when “The Mountain” met the “Iron Man”, as Arnie McDougle knocked-out Gukepshev within on minute of the fight beginning. It’s hard to say whether if the fight had gone longer and Gukepshev had survived the initial onslaught if the fight would’ve evened out but based upon this display the answer is no. McDougle dominated from start to finish landing flurries of strikes against what appeared an equal opposition. I great KO finish came off a strong combination with 4 right hand punches in a row with the last leaving Guepshev on the mat staring at the lights. McDougle looked fantastic tonight and gave very little chance to his opposition, very deserving of the nickname “The Mountain” with this performance!

Samak “Zen” Tiyapairat (23-12) v Ange “Touchy” Fili (11-4)

The theme of the night seemed to be shocks and quick finishes and this fight followed on. “Touchy” Fili took his third Forbidden Violence – and again by TKO – when he finished Tiapairat in less than 30 seconds. As the fighters entered there was no indication to say that “Zen” was not in a “Zen” headspace but the early cut and the big blow to the head certainly wouldn’t have helped that. Post-fight Ange Fili seemed very emotional but also very thankful for the fan support and help from his new training team.

FV vs HFC – Fight 1

*TEAM VIOLENCE* "Kid Southern Lights" Rebel Johnson (16-17) v Oberyn Martell (13-7) *TEAM HONOR*

It’s was the first of three in a night Forbidden Violence owner Frank King will want to forget, it started the sweep as Martell beat Johnson by TKO. It was the battle of Submission vs Stand-up and stand-up definitely won after a very impressive round from Johnson who looked to finish early with several submission attempts but it was to no avail. The second round was completely different story as Martell dominated the submission artist and eventually a big knee signalled the beginning of the end by knocking down Johnson. Martell dived down on top and landed several strikes before the official had seen enough. You could see from the silence from the crowd it was going to be a tough night for the rest of the TEAM VIOLENCE members from here on out, Honor FC were not here to mess about.

Winner: Team Honor

Undercard

"The Champagne of Beers" Miller HighLife (21-13-1) v Ashley Harrington (2-0-0)

The veteran – 34 year old – Miller HighLife took on young upstart Ashley Harrington, as the 26-year-old looked to take his third straight win in FV and remain unbeaten in his career. Harrington did just that with 1 minute to spare of the third round as he took the victory by TKO when he landed with a left from the clinch followed by a shoulder strike to daze HighLife. The finish came in very similar fashion to that that the fans saw in the Green/Matthews fight that opened the show, as Harrington pummelled Highlife against the cage till the official stepped in to award the victory to Harrington. The most impressive thing about this win is that Harrington could’ve held on till the end and no risked anything as he had clearly won the first two rounds but he went out there with the intent to finish and he did just that!

Diego "The genetic jackhammer" Diaz (13-11-1) v "The All American" Jimmy Powers (8-7-0)

There isn’t much to write about Diaz vs Powers, not due to a lack of ability or entertainment, but due to the fact the fight lasted an incredible 13 seconds. In which, with the second punch of the night, Diaz sent Power to the mat busting him open in the process and waving him back to his feet. When back on the feet the fans didn’t think they would see a second round but they thought Powers may be able to hold Diaz off for a further 5 seconds in which a superb strong right to the jaw of Powers sent the “All American” to the mat for a second time. Needless to say he didn’t get up and “The Genetic Jackhammer” was awarded a KO win in one of the most dominating but short performances the FV cage has seen.

"Sticky" Herb Green (7-5) v “Wizards” Gordon Matthews (7-6)

The fight that opened the show did its job perfectly on Saturday night as Green vs Matthews as it was one of the most frantic and intense bouts of the night, with the only disappointment being the length it lasted. Matthews was clearly superior as he took the victory by TKO (strikes), after dominating Diaz from start to finish. “Wizards” pulled the fight into the clinch early and landed a few strong short strikes to cut open Green before rocking him and then knocking him down after he pushed out of the clinch with a huge right hook that put Green on dream-street. The official jumped in as Matthews moved in for the kill on a clear out-cold Herb Green who had no clue where he was despite getting back to one foot. Fantastic officiating by the Forbidden Violence referee!

FINAL SCORE: Team Violence 0 – 3 Team Honor (winners: Martell, Rin, Pitbull)

Of the Night Awards – Sponsored by: HGH Nutrients Q160

KO of the night: Doug Graves

Sub of the night: -

Fight of the night: Roy Pitbull vs Lyoto Parks

While the event was Forbidden Violence’s first Pay-Per-View and the company didn’t get off to the best of starts in terms of losing to Honor FC, but there were a lot of other positives. Firstly a few stand-out individual performances really caught the eye and gave the fans something to go home happy about, most impressively Lyoto Parks and Doug Graces but also the MMA Tycoon Governing Body awarded the event a rating of 325.97! With FV #22 coming up, Forbidden Violence will look to a couple of their top fighters and champions to step up even further and build the credibility of this great growing organisation.
