  1. seems reasonable. i also think it shouldn't take more than 4 rest sessions (20% energy) to get back to normal after a flight. no matter where you're flying to, you'll be acclimated after 2 full days there.

  2. Since there are not a single change but a bunch of changes they need to be commented in two parts: SPARRING AND COACHED TRAINING CHANGES: This is the very best stuff added to the game in a long time. The game will become more strategic and not just a matter of how much you can throw into the laundry. Since the private gyms era started the game was a piece of cake for rich managers and was very hard for the rest. BEST CHANGE WITHOUT DOUBT. SKILL MAINTENANCE AND DECREASING: I agree with skill decreasing by age, otherway the fighters will last forever and the game become a little static. I disagree with skill maintenance. I know is an step in the realistic way but when a game becomes pretty much realistic the fun can be pretty much spoiled. I think the ultrarealistic aproach is an step in the wrong way. We can stay very fine without the skill maintenance stuff and even more without the decreasing by injuries cause this is only an invitation to play the game in a defensive way triying to evade injuries for your fighters. How can you expect the managers risk his fighters to an early retirement playing hard bouts? DECREASING BY AGE: YES SKILL MAINTENANCE AND DECREASING BY INJURIES: NO. REALISTIC BUT PRETTY MUCH BOTHERING AND FUN SPOILING STUFF. Another reason to cut the DECREASING BY INJURIES CHANGES: The way the game engine is calculating the injuries sucks. You can think about a lot of your own fighters having and winning an easy fight. Then you see your fighter page and you realize your fighter have a hard injury and you says WTF? How my fighter is injured if his foe almost never touched him? Is a fist injury because my fighter was beating to hard the face of the other guy? You fellows know this is true. Tonight one of my guys fought and was almost untouched by his foe. It was a very easy win but still my fighter earned a 12 days injury. How can a good fighter last in the game if the engine is calculating injuries in such a happy way?

  3. I couldn't have said it better myself. This is my feelings 100%. I just dont like the Maintenance. It is realistic. But that is the part of real life that people hate. The constant dedicated and hard work is why everyone wants to be a pro athlete but fe are. Its to much of a hassle. What causes them to quit sports and be arm chair QB's will cause them to quit this game. Not everything about Real life is fun. This is one of them. The only change i dont like that can make this game start to get old fast. Although i dont mind the injury decline even though i will be screwed with many of my fighters! lol

  4. First, let me begin by stating that I have very clear alterior motives. I own an organization in Rio and it is virtually impossible to import any top talent to Rio because of the massive energy hit that a fighter takes from almost any city in the game by flying in. However, I also genuinely believe that the energy hit fighters take by flying into, or out of Rio, is grossly inaccurate. Fighters don't take a massive energy hit from the length of the plane flight, although it is a factor. They take the massive energy hit from the time zone change. Rio is currently one hour ahead of New York and Montreal, 4 hours ahead of Las Vegas, 4 hours ahead of Los Angeles, 4 hours behind London; and 5 hours behind Amsterdam; there is approximately a 6 hour difference, one way or the other to Hilo and Helsinki. Travel from Rio to NY(1 hour), Amsterdam (5 hours) and London (4 hours) is a 30 energy hit, travel to Montreal (1 hour) is a 25 energy hit, travel to Las Vegas and Los Angeles (both 4 hours) is a 35 energy hit. By comparison, the time zone difference from NY (which generally has a comparable time zone to Rio, but admittedly has a longer flight to most cities) only takes a 15 energy hit to Vegas, 18 to Los Angeles, 20 to Amsterdam, and 22 to London. The nonstop flight times from NY to the western European cities is only about 3 hours longer than from Rio and Rio is closer in time zones. All this to say, that based on my experience in Rio, I'd like to see the energy hit from Rio to NY, Montreal, Amsterdam and London all shrink by a significant margin, and possibly to Vegas and LA by a slim margin. I can't speak to other cities who are relatively isolated, like Tokyo and Sydney.

  5. I think you've slipped into the mistake I made when I first read it. If, say, there are 12 fighters sparring, then I believe they split into two groups - one of the top 5 fighters, and another of the 7 worst for that discipline. Therefore no penalty for the top guys as they're automatically in a group of 5 fighters. This is also why I assume that it is in a group of 5 that the potential for sparring gains max out (i.e. that 6 elites training together would not be any better than 5 elites).

  6. No, you're expected to change how you train slightly because the old system was out of control. This system will make this game about actual MMA again, and thus draw in more players. Yes, the game is broken. Changes are a vital part of MMOs, and if you're gonna stunt changes to maintain the current playerbase, the game will stagnate, both game-wise and community-wise. This will cause more people to leave and less people to stay long term. No, but that seems to be what you're advocating. This change benefits new players the most.

  7. This would make it easier for people who run a comp at 50% ownership or something to share profits and whatnot. One problem would be the moving of cash I guess, but thats already running wild in tycoon neway. One thing to counter this is on the employee permission drop down box you can have one that says partner. The partner has all the permissions the owner has. This position cannot be held by more than one person, and can only be changed once a month maybe? Another problem would be ppl getting screwed, if someone does eventually screw over the actual owner, only the owner is at fault. So no need to bother mike about it. Just be careful who you trust next time. You could also have a little warning thing that pops up and says something like "If your partner decides to screw you, ie withdarw all the money and run. It will be your problem to deal with. So choose wisely" Neway plz comment if you think it would have a more neg and a pos impact or something. Edit: Added this In a nutshell/TLDR: I suggest giving orgs only, the ability to give an employee partner status. This would just allow him to deposit money once in a while, not withdraw, in case of emergencies. A person can't become a partner if he owns a clothing or supp company. A partner can only change every 3-6 months. Maybe make it where a company can only make someone a partner every 3-6 months. Maybe only allowing orgs to make someone a partner as well.. Allowing supp/nut/gym companies this option would just lead to abuse for laundering. "Just use manager transfer noob!" Well sometimes.................shit happens. Transferred cash and possibly have a series of unexpected org expenses. Maybe bigger signing bonuses, booked more events, etc.

PM for sponsorships and if any orgs out there want to make a deal for fight of the night awards i'm open for business. http://www.mmatycoon.com/clothingpublic.php?cid=1058 Thanks for your business and i will put as much effort into this as i did for Hells Balls Recovery.

  9. It shouldn't be allowed for a manager to release a fighter that's under contract. I saw an event tonight who's 6-0 champ that's top 500 p4p that got released. It makes zero sense and potentially screws the org out of a high ranking fighter. If you sign the contract you should have to honor it or negotiate a release.

  11. how about not signing a long contract until you know if the fighter is a dud?

  12. What would be the fun in having every fighter basically being an impossibly good fighter across all skills? It's one thing if it was a rare occurrence but there's no way to implement that in a fair way. As it is, there's no challenge or thought process to fighter builds because it's basically like you're going down a checklist as it currently is. Oh, boxing is elite? Time to max out subs. And so on. If anything lower/mid level orgs offer the most realistic picture of MMA because fighters haven't had the time to hit the stat levels of the upper tier guys. The problem is they're only specializing along the way. Stat maintenance and decay, opposing primaries, and similar changes are good steps towards the bland everyone is the same sensational across people are at now. I will continue to beat my pet dead horse that I suspect the cap is too high. The positive side is Mike can tweak that along the way if he feels the other changes don't keep skill levels in check.

  13. I really love sparring and coach class new mode. I´ve posting suporting and asking for this kind of changes and a lot of managers complain with me for this but now is up and is a very good change for the bettermen of the game. Anyway I don´t agree with "nobody came up with a better idea in the full two years that training changes have been discussed". Me and more managers said a lot of times what making the game ultrarealistic (I mean the injuries and maintenance stuff) could make the game less funny. There is one little reasson why you may think "nobody says nothing better". Is cause some little group of managers are ever posting the same topics over and over praying for the same ultrarealistic stuff. We all know whom and whom is ever in the forums saying ever the same words. But even so if some managers are ever filling and refilling every post with the same statements this don´t make a consensus and not even a majoriti agreement. It only means what some managers have a lot of time to spend in the web and a huge need for attention. But you cannot think those managers are the only one or the most importants in the game just cause they are ever posting (the same things) and the rest of us are posting only one or two times our ideas. This is my opinion. I think deserves respect. And i respect the mates who support the entire list of changes and the mates who desagrees with every change. Anyway you have the control and is your game. I love the sparring and coaching changes; I hate the maintenance and injuries changes. But i still love the game and i´ll keep around looking for inteeresting bouts for my fighters.

  15. Well I wonder what would be the advantage of having no limit? One would make an even more unbalanced 18y project unless I miss something. I find this hardly exciting and rather unrealistic. 18y old and already best bjj of all time

  16. I don't really get the argument of I loved the fighter and hate to see them ruined by another manager, if you are so emotionally attached then why get rid of them regardless of their record or whatever other reason you are using to justify their release/retirement? Way I see my fighters they are all expendable and when I run out of use of them, or just get bored and decide its time to begin again, they go to the FA market and I forget about them totally, if another manager gets them good for them hope they can do well if they retire then I wish them good luck in their sunny retreat.

  17. I am going to see how it goes,, this just puzzled me. Thanks again for clarifying it. I see this a a micro problem actually, just wanted to understand the sparring concept. But, you are right, I was on a negative rampage the other day, but that was down to other things that just the changes in this game,, it was more down to RL shit than the changes, and i just took it out on the changes, since i didn't agree with them. I made some valid points, and a some bad assumptions. Edwardsfan made me think with his excellent cheese, so I decided to shut it and see what was going to happen. Can't see this though as all that negative,, good for G sucks for F,, so be it. I expect you to have reasonably thick skin, but if i offended you on my negative spree, i apologize for that.

  18. The bigger the sparring session, the less of a problem it will be because you'll have a middle group too. Just see how it goes... you're turning into captain negative, plus 1 ing everything negative and voting for all the most negative options in all the polls.... you're talking yourself into problems that don't exist or are really a lot more minor than you are making them out to be.

  19. It would be jointly the most effective, I think. The wiki states that "sparring in groups of less than 5 total (including your own fighter), is less effective", which means that once you reach 5 in a session then you have maximised the effectiveness of the session, notwithstanding the other sparring factors (e.g. the 20% better than yourself point, like you mention). So having 10 in a session would also be the most effective (as 10 is not lower than 5), but it is capped at 5 so will not be any better.

  20. Yeah, unless the system is able to intelligently distinguish between different cases of NCs and who causes them I think this will always be one aspect that will be impossible to get entirely right and fair. Probably just need to make a call either way (like you have for now, that they won't reset) and see how it goes.

  22. well this good 'ol boy still disagrees with you. you go off and *assume* that taking a couple of fights will make your spar bot great. but why? i wouldnt. all you're doing when you're trying to salvage these spar bots is essentially investing time into a sinking ship. the wiki already says that you only need to be 20% above the other fighters skill to get max gain. why were spar bots important? so you could get your young fighters trained up quickly. a competent fighter can do that for you now. so you dont need to waste 4 fighter slots to have 4 elite sparbots anymore. you can if you wish. but all us goofy hicks wont be. i think that you're hanging on to something that isnt there or in your best interest anymore. but that's just me. but if you think that it is....then go get big guy

  23. Is that the case, though? i.e. that more partners (assuming all other variables unchanged) is always beneficial? It doesn't seem to fit with the idea of the split sparring classes where just the top 5 fighters (if the class size is greater than 10) go off to spar in a separate group. From this I would infer that, all other things being equal, the gains from sparring will max out once you have 5 fighters sparring.

  24. i dont know about you guys? but my fighters want to be fighters! so they'll fight in mmatycoon for as long as there is a manager out there that believes in them and will give them a chance.....my guys are always more than thrilled to potentially help a younger manager prosper in this game hoping for anything less is pure selfishness in my completely honest opinion
    1 point
  25. i completely agree with this logic. 4 elite fighters sparring with one another are never going to improve as much as a young fighter will when he's sparring with fighters that are beyond his own skill level. elite fighters sparring together in real life are doing nothing more than what they'll be doing in this game. which is maintaining their skills and trying to stay sharp.....once again, i must say, very well thought out [edit] im assuming that since sparring will be a little harder to get us to that elite point, that the "mellowness" in training at the higher levels will be enough to compensate for it and actually be able to obtain the variation in fighters that we all desire. otherwise, we COULD end up with the same "wall" that we have now. only in a different wardrobe

  26. sometimes you gotta jump in feet first, instead of just dipping your toes in the water. how about you give things a chance before assuming it's going to be an epic failure? i don't think changes to the game are anywhere near the main reason that people don't stick around with the game, and i'm not sure how you came to that conclusion. these changes are the biggest thing to help noob managers that's been done for the game so far, at least since i joined anyway.

  27. I think all the changes are brilliant and will do a lot to continue the longevity of this game, my concern much the same with jsto and manny is the injury thing.. Not that I don't think its a good idea but I think a more realistic "days" value to injuries should be looked at.. You get a fighter with a poor roll on injuries (yep you cop it sweet) but then you cop a 16 day injury even though your opponent hasn't landed a punch on you and you have only landed a couple yourself I think is a bit of a harsh penalty. I can certainly understand that if you have a bad roll for injuries and the fight goes 3 rounds or 5 round that you wear the full brunt of your bad roll but on those short and sweet fights you should escape without such a harsh penalty.

  28. i may not comment on them much, but i think they're awesome. plus, comments tend to break up the interviews so it looks kinda weird. with my stuff, i mostly look at the number of views if i want some sort of reassurance...but i mostly do them for myself...to bring these little fuckers to life a bit lol. it's fun to go back and read some of the old stuff.

  29. Wait, are you saying that laziness isn't rewarded? Well it should be! This is AMERICA DAMNIT!

  30. I completely disagree. The changes add a whole new level of complexity and depth to training. Simply having a private gym with all elite coaches will no longer ensure that you will produce the most dominant fighters. Having money and influence will still help you build monsters. But these changes make good training accessible to new managers. And co-operation and community building are now almost as important as money. These changes will help raise the level of competition in the game. Have you become so comfortable up on your throne that you are afraid of facing more competition?

  34. I think this is almost way too much. I appreciate all this work but I think changes like this should be implemented one small step at a time. I already feel my Tycoon love dwindling and now everyone is expected to learn and understand how the game works all over again. I think this will push more people away from the game than draw them in. There are reasons why the user base has been on a constant decline. The whole structure and mechanics of the game is forever changing. And the user base has been forever dropping. Maybe we should stop and have some stability? Sure, the passionate Tycoon veterans will adapt to these changes with no problem, but I'm afraid that it will stunt the growth and interest in the game. Or are we at a point in the game where we've conceded that it's growth has stopped and are just trying to maintain the support of it's core followers (VIP Veterans)

  35. I recently read the planned changes to the training. To be honest I think this will be a step in the wrong direction. The game is loosing players day by day and something needs to be done... However, taking away the possibility to some good training for those who have earned some cash is just stupid. If you have done well you should get awarded, not punished. This suggestion smells communism straight through and I think that some veteran players will skip to renew their VIP, and frankly, VIP is what keeps this game up and running. So, this suggestion should go down the drain.

  36. I don't know why people are complaining about the decrease in skills due to injury. Mike has already stated that you wont really see a decrease until you have 300 days worth of injurys, which you wont be able to get until you've had at least 19 fights and suffered 16 days worth of injury after every one of those fights. And with Mike working on introducing Doctors at some point to reduce the effect and length of injurys and cuts it will take even longer to see a decrease.

  37. people always complain about things before they actually happen, and often find out there was no reason to complain. it's like a kid that says they hate strawberries, but have never even eaten one. then they try one and can't get enough.

  38. Yeah that truly sucks for F, especially since it will take him ages to pop, since he is the "sparbot" of his group in the session, and the "lowest" in the other group pops much faster, being the crappy guy of that session. And it is food for thought that one enters a spar session in good faith, but ends up possibly getting a crappy session after session, while someone else gets major benefits for being maybe one + higher than the other etc..

First thing that comes to mind is coutures a freak of nature, and you cant use him as a guidline. sure, fine. then lets talk about an NFL football player who had his first mma fight at age 47. 41. what was the original intent, and does it still need to be that way? with the new training changes coming into play, do we still need to limit these things or can we open up a more exciting era into mmatycoon? yes i was the one pushing for the 25yr old builds, and i dont think it would hurt to go a step further.

  42. i was just in another thread and it made me think of this. not every fighter has the same discipline/dedication/motivation in real life. perhaps we could have a new hidden for this. if your fighter had a low hidden for this, maybe he'd have a chance of missing training sessions or there would be a random chance for each session that he wouldnt get the full effect of training (maybe he's hungover or something). also, you could have it affect the See How It Goes slider...the manager could set the slider to wherever they wanted, but the fighter would listen or not listen to the manager based on this hidden. otherwise, most guys probably just set it to 100% Follow and just order their fighters like robots...this would give the fighters some personality. any thoughts?
