  2. Interview With Mr Jobber Diablo Escovar, Jacky Chan, Alex Caine, Paul Bradley. All those names are associated with success. For the majority of people in this game, they dream of some day reaching the pinnacle, to grab that number one spot and hold onto it for dear life. Some managers have been criticized for not rightfully earning their top spot. We’ve all heard the names, so there’s no need to say them here. But what about the other end of that spectrum? What about the guy on the bottom? What about a guy who has, as of this writing, amassed 370 losses as a manager, 370 losses without a single victory until recently. What drives him to keep playing? You probably all know who I’m talking about by now, but for the uninformed, I’m talking about Mr. Jobber. He has reached legendary status to some people around this community. Recently, Jobber, for the first time in history, was out-jobbed. His fighter, also named Mr Jobber, notched his first professional victory over Hamza Nabi. A fight Jobber himself described as “A back and forth of fails.” I was lucky enough to nab an exclusive interview with the manager earlier this weekend. So after almost four hundred fights, how does it feel to have notched your first victory? Well it was quite a suprise actually. I never thought that I would ever win. I guess it is just something that was bound to happen sooner or later, just needed to to wait 'til someone copied me. You’ve gained kind of a cult-like following around the Tycoon world. You’re one of the most talked-about managers, although not for the reasons one might expect. Have anything to say to your fans and haters? Well to my fans all I can say is keep on fighting me, lets see if I can hit match number 1000, and to the haters I don't see why you are hating, your fighters are gaining wins and I am not breaching any rules so there is nothing to hate on. There are several theories out on you. One, you’re really some tactical genius who is trying to figure out all the intricacies of the fight game, and once your fighters start training, other managers will have to face off against some tactical wizard. Others think you’re a multi. There are a lot of idiotic purists out there who think you are “bad for the game and should be banned for doing it wrong.” I’m not in any of those schools of thought. I just think you are who you are. But just so we’re clear, what exactly are you? Well I wish I could say I was a tactical genius but I am only doing this for fun, I guess it started just to get fights as often as possible, I have played other games where there are lots of jobbers and thought I could carry the 'legacy of jobbing' to MMA Tycoon, I am not a multi accounter I don't see how I can be accused of being one where you can see who I am fighting every time, maybe in the future I will have to try training my fighters. I mean I have enough money to *laughs* Have you learned anything from all these losses? Not really I have just gained a fan base and a sense of achievement. *laughs* Do you get a lot of harassment from other managers for your record and play-style? Never harrassed simply asked why I am doing it, or a congradulations from other managers. What was the key to Mr Jobber picking up his first victory over Hamza Nabi? Do you think Nabi was purposefully trying to out-job the jobber, or did you just have the right formula to beat him? I Looked over at Nabi's stats and he was simarly built with his stats and I think he was trying to out-jobber me the match was just a back and fourth of fails. Where exactly is Jobber City in Somalia? What’s the population? Recommend any resteraunts? Well Beleive it or not Jobber City isn't really a City in Somalia, GASP! *laughts* I had to get all my creative juices flowing to think up that name so as you can probably tell *smile* Where do you see yourself in a year? In a Year? I really dont know, maybe I will be training by then and trying to win or maybe still jobbing, you just got to wait and see I guess. Word Association Time. Just answer the following with one word. If you don’t want to say, just say no comment. Mike Tycoon - Creator Joel Nicola - Never heard the name sorry Hamza Nabi - Jobber QFC - MyPlayground All in all, Jobber is who he is. If there is a method to his madness, he sure isn't spilling. Maybe this time next year, he will just be your average manager. For now though, when you queue your fighter in the QFC, you pray to see his name. You breathe a sigh of relief, knowing your odds of success are pretty good. But if there's one thing we learned this week, it's that every jobber has his day.

  3. I have always hated the energy cost of flying. I try to stay at home base as much as possible because of it and it really limits org choices.

  4. I have decided to post these on the forums instead. First interview with Paul Dengel is below. Interview with Paul Dengel I’ve been a member of ACME-St. Petersburg for a few months now. We have a great group of managers and we have recently merged with ACME-North America so we are all under the same banner now. We give each other advice, compete amongst ourselves, and just shoot the proverbial shit from time to time. I’ve been associated with ACME in some way since I started playing this game. I had just purchased VIP, and I get an e-mail from Paul Dengel inviting me to build a welterweight for a tournament in MKFC. Since that day, I have been involved with his organization as a manager, a writer, and one-time owner of the new feeder org, ACME-DEVO. Paul Dengel has bailed me out of many predicaments, mostly of the financial nature. I’m not the smartest guy with money, and when it comes to Tycoon money, I’m even worse. He’s a solid org owner, having run MKFC:Revolution for two years this September. That’s quite an accomplishment for anyone. I figure who better to tackle for my first piece than the person partly responsible for me continuing to play even after I went 9-17 last year. Anyone who has a fighter in an ACME org, be it CEC, MKFC, ACME-Montreal, DEVO, or that one down in Sydney that I can’t remember the name of, knows how active the owners are with previews, recaps, and just the day-to-day stuff. They have generally good satisfaction ratings, and most managers I’ve talked to seem to enjoy their time with ACME. That above anything else seems to be Paul’s goal, for himself, and his fellow managers. Fun. It’s a strange concept in the twenty-first century online community, but fun still does exist. For those of you unfamiliar with MKFC:Revolution, they are currently the #3 ranked organization in St. Petersburg, and #60 worldwide as of this writing. They were ranked higher until the start of Hardcore League Combat this past weekend which featured quite a few fighters with virtually no hype or experience. They have traveled the globe, showcased such events as the ACME Bantamweight Tournament, Color Wars, There Will Be Blood, and the aforementioned Hardcore League Combat. When it comes to innovation, MKFC:Revolution is right near the top. With their recent merger with Vicious Fighting Championships, the future looks promising. The Improvements section of the forum is an interesting place to visit. You’ll see some very good recommendations and some real head-scratching ones too. One new improvement that was recently implemented, one that I can at least take partial credit for suggesting, is the Anonymous Feedback form. If you haven’t checked out that fun little feature, it’s located in your fighters’ contracts section. You can pretty much say whatever you want, without the owner knowing who you are. It’s a mixed bag so far, some people like it, some people hate it. Some owners could care less, while some managers like to address their feedback. During my sit-down with Paul, I addressed some recent feedback that came across his inbox. So let’s start with this. “ This organization has recently hit a steep decline in terms of enjoyability. Despite having been a long time member, I will likely wait until my fighter's contracts are finished and then moved on. A number of members within the org agree that it has likely simply become too large, and as a result you (Paul) have lost touch with a number of your members, and this once close-knit community has fallen apart.” That has to sting a little bit. Maybe I’ve had the blinders on, maybe I’m showing a little bias, but I’ve been here for about a year, and I can’t say I’ve noticed any major changes. I’m sure you were a lot smaller starting out, did you enjoy it more, as some of the managers seemed to? Was it easier to run an org when you weren’t so big? When I started the org I did not know what I was doing, folks like Mega Therion and Comte gave me advice as I was constantly in chat. Initially my goal was to not go broke and to do the best write ups/previews in St Pete. I started with two divisions and then grew from there. Unlike a lot of rosters that carry retired fighters and long time inactives – I do not do that I cut them. I don’t think we’ve change negatively in fact I think I have become more ambitious in doing things that others have not tried or at least not done successfully. I guess some managers are not happy, I try to please but it’s impossible to make everyone happy. The tourneys, Hardcore League, world events are there to keep me interested and focused on keeping the org fun. Anyone can just plow out show after show and get paid – what’s the fun in that? Do you think you’ve been over-ambitious? I believe you’re the only org to have run a PPV in St. Pete. You’re probably going to be the first org to host events in every city. What cities are left? Rio? Sydney? Hilo? Do you think maybe that would be what caused you to “lose touch” with so many members? The PPV we scheduled before I financed a gym – the event lost a ton of money as has the gym. We went from a good place financially before that PPV to really struggling to survive for several months. Thankfully some of the high hyped/pop fighters stayed with us – again a testament to the loyalty of the managers here. The world shows despite their big ratings are not financially viable – they all just barely eek a profit or lose money plus the constant fear of guys not making the host city. We have four cities left. I am taking a break in June to bring MKFC home to St Pete but our next travelling show will be in Rio in July. As far as losing touch, there are some managers that are not quite as active as some – I like to get fight cards locked up within three days of listing an event so maybe I am inpatient but after three days I offer fights elsewhere. Also guys with really low hype/pop I have offered to move to DEVO where they will be more active- fight lesser competition and get the same pay – I’m not sure why more guys don’t jump on that if they don’t think they get enough action here. Last summer, Dengel decided it was time to fill up his welterweight division. Some owners find that a simple way to add depth to a division is to host a tournament. So with that, Color Wars was born. Two teams of eight guys squared off each other, and a winner was eventually crowned in December of last year. MK Ultra, who went on to be the MKFC Lightweight champion until recently. The first version of the tournament produced some solid gate-keepers who still compete today, Tyler Durden, Maddy Bunga(recently moved down to DEVO, and until recently, my own guy, Mike Daniels. The second version started earlier this year, feature featherweight fighters. That final takes place later this month, Officer Franklin and Jesse Parker will square off. The other participants have either retired or are competing in ACME’s feeder org, DEVO. Color Wars, I’m assuming this was first created to add depth to a relatively thin division. Clearly the best thing to come out of Color Wars was MK Ultra. The two finalists in the featherweight tournament also look very promising. Other than that, most of the competitors have either retired or at best become gate-keepers. Would you dub the concept a failure or do you think it served its purpose? Will there be another Color Wars tournament in the future? The initial color wars was utilized to fill a completely new division. This was a fun series and the majority of fighters continues here after they lost in the tourney because the division was so even. The problem with any subsequent series would mean that once the tourney was done, chances are the majority of newer creations could not hang with our established talent. Thankfully DEVO became a home to a number of fighters from the MKFC tourneys and maybe we will see them back some day. Ultra is a beast and we are happy to have him on our roster; in fact, he will represent the MKFC in June fighting on a super card over at SAUNA (you heard that here first). We have the finals of the latest Color Wars coming up between lightweights Officer Franklin and Jesse Parker as the co-main event of Hardcore League Combat 3 – but no I don’t forsee another Color Wars tourney here … DEVO maybe but not here. Your merger with Vicious Fighting Championships: Revolution has looked pretty seamless to the casual observer? Have there been any issues come up yet? The only issue was with a non-VIP manager that did not understand we book events out a month or more in advance. This understanding was also prior to the full closure of VFCR so Otto was not here to smooth out any confusion. All the pieces are in place now and I am hoping for s successful future. MKFC 150 is looking good already. Is this the Champion vs. Champion card? At least six belts will be contended for on MKFC 150 and we are working on two potential super fights. I have one fighter confirmed just need the rest to get permission from their current organizations. As for the remaining two “open” fights on the card I am waiting to see what makes the most sense before filling those slots. Regardless this should be the biggest card in MKFC history – if I had the extra $300k laying around I would make it a PPV and give these fighters some additional hype/pop but that’s a lot of cash to piss away and I am just not comfortable doing that. You recently had to strip the bantamweight champion, Biff Rydberg. What is the plan for MKFC 150? How will you decide to fights for the title? For the first time in our nearly two years we have had to strip a champ. I have offered a fight for the vacant title and one of the parties has accepted, one former VFCR fighter is still a hold out or chances are e would have been in the mix as well. The SHW belt will not be on the line at MKFC 150, other than that there is nothing definite. Have anything else to add about the Rydberg situation or have you said your piece? Rydberg is contractually obligated to fight for the MKFC. For the next 167 days he rides pine unless he agrees to fight; but a title opportunity will not come again … ever. Hardcore League Combat got off to a pretty good start this past weekend. What does the end-game look like here? Will this just continue until people lose interest? Or will this be a seasonal thing? We have 8 alliance based teams now of 18 year old builds. I plan to introduce 2 or 4 new teams to build July 1st and join the action after 6 weeks of training on August 15th. These new builds will be 19 so hopefully will be on an even keel with the guys that are already in the league. I imagine some teams may fold out or build replacements; but I doubt this could continue beyond the age of 21 for any of these fighters. That said, fighting bi-weekly for nine months … some sick beasts could come out of this thing and move to bigger orgs or if we are lucky to the main roster. There is the potential here for a fighter to go 18-0 … though I am not sure how this will play out as I don’t have anyone contracted that long (of course). So to answer your question – the most new teams added to this will most likely be 6 – and we will not add new teams once all fighters are 21. Maybe we will start over at that point – haven’t thought that far ahead. All these projects. The world tour, Color Wars, HLC, There Will Be Blood, are these just things to keep you interested in what you’re doing? I’m sure it would get monotonous to just book shows week in and week out. Are you just trying to fight off boredom or are you really trying to be the most innovative manager/owner in Tycoon history? I have had my fighters in orgs that lack innovation; in time I move those fighters. I am not a very good manager in regards to my personal fighters but I want to see write ups, recaps and some exciting ideas come out of the orgs I fight for personally – or I move my guys. Pay to me is not a high priority – can my guys afford good gyms, supps, clothes? If so then what the hell do I need the extra money for … I want to be entertained – and that is how I approach MKFC. I did a worldwide bantams tourney that we held all over the globe with 32 bantamweight fighters – that was pretty epic. I don’t know what I can do to keep being innovative for now I am focusing on the Hardcore League … once Otto and I can crunch some numbers and line up some financing maybe everyone will see another sick concept come from us. I love that ASTRAL (Tokyo) has a K1 division, I love what TC (ACME Montreal) has been able to do in a very hard market. Last week three ACME orgs were in the top 20 at the same time – I am not the only one working hard to make a quality org and happy managers; I would like to think we (ACME) are all on the same page. What is your favorite thing about MKFC: Revolution? I like opening up the game for the first time each day and seeing 15-20 messages immediately. Guys just throwing ideas/thoughts/concerns/feedback at me. It shows that I have a good bunch of managers in the MKFC – the vast majority of which are ViP’s. When I look at a roster and I see FA’s, Retired fighters, a ton of inactives and non-ViP managers … I think twice about signing there. The roster here is active and it is made up of quality managers. Fear of the small market has kept many good fighters from considering St Pete – I hope we have changed some guys minds. What is your least favorite, most challenging thing? I have two kids (7 and 4) – they play hockey, do cub scouts, train in kick boxing and BJJ. I work from 3am-1pm Tue-Sat and find an hour or more to run/swim/train myself every day. I have a small window of free time that I stretch to get on Tycoon. I spend the most time on here doing previews on Mondays – but as I have been training for a triathalon my time has gotten shorter as my Monday milage has increased. Time management has been the bane – but with Otto coming aboard to start building cards and working contracts I should be better able to focus on the writing and the future concepts. Give me your thoughts on the alliance merger between ACME St. Pete and North America. We knew going in that we would lose a few St Pete guys if we merged with the North America crew. The argument some guys made was that we would be too big and unmanageable – and stop sharing as much in chat. Despite my claims to the contrary we did lose two guys. Initially the idea was to open a branch in each city but that does not work if you can’t properly communicate and interact. By bringing it back under one banner we can refocus – make sure our businesses are in order and working well – and hopefully help each other succeed with our fighters. Going forward, where do you see us in a year? Will you still be active? Will MKFC:Revolution still be around? I don’t see leaving the game – I enjoy the hell out of it. I would hope the ACME alliance and MKFC:Revolution would continue to put on quality shows and be thought of as one of the best in game – even if our rating does not reflect it. Word association time. Just answer the following with one word. If you’d rather not answer any one of the below, just say “No Comment.” ACME - partners Joel Nicola - fraud Paul Dengel - bastard Syn - elite Mike Tycoon – aces! Biff Rydberg - joker Kaban Demidov - Goliath Buck Futter - friend

  5. It's finally that time of the year again! For those who don't know, TUM is the largest and in my biased opinion, the toughest tournament in the game! It's not a tournament about fighters but rather, about managers. The aim of the tournament is to bring out the best of the best in an attempt to see who really is "the ultimate manager". Here's some links to the previous tournaments to get into the feel of things: TUM I - Signups TUM 1 - Results TUM II - Signups TUM II - Results If you look, the past winners have been Lord Rayden and Alex Caine, both of whom are considered to be some of the best managers in the game. TUM truly brings out the cream of the crop and is generally, one hell of a ride! Without wasting more time, let me explain the rules: This is a tournament for the managers. All managers are free to join but seeding and entry will be done based on manager rank. Last time, we managed to bring in around 88 participants. This time, let's aim to touch 128. Managers must create fighters on or after a specific creation date. The date has been set for July 31st, 2011. Since it's a Sunday, no managers will be able to gain advantages by creating a fighter early. This date should also give people enough time to experiment with and ultimately, plan for the new training system. Each manager can create upto 2 fighters (you can also just use 1). However, they must pick one of these two fighters to take part in the tournament. The last date for finalizing your pick will be August 20th, 2011. If you have not picked your fighter by that time, we will randomly select one for you. This is done so that managers can test hiddens and speed of two fighters rather than banking on just one. All the fighters must be 18 years of age. They must also be willing to compete in the Super-Heavyweight (265+ lbs) division. After creation, all fighters will be given 2.5 months to train. The first fight will be scheduled for the 14th-16th October weekend. After that, fights will be given at 3 week intervals. In case of a draw, you will be given a rematch 1 week after your fight and will be expected to fight again 2 weeks after that so ideally, you should try your best to avoid a draw. Fighters can be based anywhere in the world and are free to train as they like. However, they must be willing to reach Hilo for their fights. All fighters will also be given entry into the Blitzkrieg gyms should they wish to train there. In case of an NC, the fighter who shows up shall proceed to the next round. In case a manager leaves / gets deleted / goes inactive the opponent will get a bye to the next round. Fighters are free to take test fights before the tournament if they wish to. As always, the biggest prize one can get is bragging rights. But we've added some stuff just to make it all the more enticing: $125,000 courtesy of emfleek. The winner will recieve 6 months of free VIP. Both the finalists will recieve a year's supply of supplements, courtesy of Blitzkrieg Formula 5000 and Blitzkrieg Formula 5000 Cardio. Both the semi-finalists will be recieving 6 months supply of the same supplements. If anyone wishes to sponsor more prizes, just drop me a message. Just to make it easier to keep your dates about you, here's a copy of the schedule: 6th July 2011 - Signups opened. 30th July 2011 - Signups closed. 31st July 2011 - Creation of fighters. 1st August 2011 - Seeds finalized (based on rankings on that date). 20th August 2011 - Finalize fighters. 14th, 15th, 16th October 2011 - Round 1 commences. So, without wasting more time, let's get this show on the road! 6. It seems that i cant do any QFC's with some of my fighters because they are too highly hyped (over 75). I suggest another QFC Level for those kind of fighters. A no holds mathup between fighters with over 75 in hype and over 4 wins (or something like that).

  7. I spend maybe 5 minutes more setting training per day now than before the changes and to me it almost seems too easy to maintain skills (despite some current issues with my aptitude bonuses). I don't think it's a big issue at all outside of noobs getting scared by the wiki. Edit: And I'm sure those 5 minutes will go down when I get used to it.

  8. Well it doesn't even remotely matter if you like the other changes if this one makes you lose interest though, does it? With physicals, I apologise for the wasted time. I posted exactly that when I announced the changes. Is it a deal breaker though really if they lose maybe 5 points over each skill and you don't have to really bother trying to maintain them? Basically all you should need to do if you let things fall into place is 2 sessions of circuits a week (to keep a high physicals guy) and either one or two sessions of sparring, depending on what you want to be good at. It's just a different training method. If you set up like that you really shouldn't find it hard to maintain your guys. Edit - just on the point of physicals. As much as you think it's wasted time, do you accept that having people with sensational or elite in all 6 physicals is stupid and that it's better if we have some physical variations?

  9. Ok, 12 sessions a week, maximum or 2 sparring sessions for each primary (even for monsters) per week is 8 sessions. That leaves 4 sessions a week to focus whilst still popping skills through sparring..... Just means you will have to have 2 sensational primaries rather than 4, then have a build that suits your style I really don't get the issues here by everyone, after all if you spar then you still get skill points aswell as reducing the ticker and total reset after every fight so you're gaining points at all times

  10. So what's your alternatives then guys? With regards to not having time or inclination to monitor stuff, I appeciate the sentiment but really, what are we actually talking here? Like 10 minutes a week? I get it that it's a different mindset to accept decreases as well as increases and maybe it just looks too scary or something... but seriously, I don't get why it's a big deal to just accept the occasional decrease. If you hit a red bar, so what? Your guy goes down a bit, he doesn't die. I'm not belittling what you're saying, I just don't get why it is 100% fundamental that either your guys never lose any skills at all, or you have to drop them / lose all enjoyment? Those two things just don't make any sense so I need to get why that's how you feel about it. As it is now, your guys have probably lost less points than they would have on the old system, because there is no automatic cardio loss from no training, PLUS I have made you lose less energy from training too. I'm being totally serious, I want to understand the mindset here so please explain it to me. Would you feel any different if the system was always like this?

  11. I said to myself that i would not write in the forums about these changes and that i would give them a chance but the skill decrease thing is just such a pain in the ass that i cant keep my mouth shut anymore. The tickers tick so fast that i cant even bother to give a shit anymore and its only been like a week since they were implemented. I know you did this becouse you thought it would be the best thing for the game but i honestly cant see how the tickers is that. Most people might disagree with me now but for how long will they have the energy to micromanage the training and still have the energy/time to keep up with everything else? Ive played this game for over 2 years and loved it and its ashame that something small like this can ruin the whole experience for me.

  13. So I've decided to make my own blog dedicated to this game and all other things MMA. I will write about general MMA stuff, hot topics on the boards and in game, and I will also do features on managers, organizations, events, and fighters. My first feature is now up. Feel free to check it out and let me know what you think. I will be working on the formatting and what not but I want to see if this thing actually generates any interest before putting too much time into it. The link is below, and also here. Also, if you want to do an interview or feature on your org, hit me up.

  15. My org has 159 people. At most I only have to deal with 1 or maybe 2 douches per week and it isn't always someone in my org. While much of this stuff can get annoying it is a very small minority of the things I deal with on a daily basis. It is just when you notice a particular trend that you have to either vent or lay down the law when possible. For me the big one is leaving a fight offer unanswered up until just before the fight. If you want to decline just do it. I suppose it is how people decline without taking responsibility for actually declining, but I never complain to a fighter for declining even if they don't leave a reason. I just need to know if I will have to scramble to fill the slot or not. Everything else is mostly minor annoyances at best save for the "resting" thing I posted earlier.

  16. From what i understand it's like this, Up to 9 fighters sparring = 1 group of 1-9 fighters. 10 to 14 fighters Sparring = 2 groups 1 of the top 5 sparrers and a 2nd group of the remaining 5-9 fighters. 15 and upwards fighters sparring = 3 groups 1 of the top 5 sparrers and a 2nd group of the next 5 best sparrers and a 3rd group of the remaining fighters which can range from 5 fighters to an infinite amount fighters.

  17. Or anonymous messages that ask you specific questions about their fighter. I have no idea who you are, so how can I answer? At least give the fighter name instead of just saying "my fighter". I can't see your manage name to look it up. Managers who leave the "needs fight" box constantly unchecked then complain they aren't getting fight offers or enact their inactivity clause. You are telling me not to send you an offer, so don't be surprised when I listen. I am constantly having to send out messages reminding the org to verify their box is checked and it still happens too frequently. I almost wish the box wasn't there in the 1st place. I had to implement a policy where I reset all inactivity whenever a fighter has their "needs fight" box unchecked, because it isn't my fault if they are the ones asking for the inactivity. If they are marked as wanting a fight then I leave it alone, because that is my responsibility.

  18. I still can't believe people let fight offers sit there, if you don't want it, reject it so we can find someone else. Also NC annoy me when they don't cut weight. And aint bothered at all when you tell them about it.

  19. I had to fly a guy from Rio to Hilo for a fight and now i noticed that he will have 3-4 sessions before the fight were the ticker aint frozen wich kinda sucks since i cant do nothing about it since i had to fly him in pretty early becouse of the energy loss. So i wonder if you are gonna change that or if its supposed to be this way from now on?

  20. I wouldn't mind this but at high skill levels it should be difficult/rare to get into Overwhelmed/Panicked status since in all likelihood your defensive skills are going to on par with your opponent's offensive skills. The stats for this should be the 2 Primaries (BX/MT) and not the Experience/Confidence hiddens as you suggest... in my opinion those would be secondary or tertiary factors along with their Defensive Secondaries. (I think this was what Jacky was saying as well) After all, someone who is Sens/Sens or even Ex/Ex in BX/MT with the Defensive secondaries to match is not going to be particularly concerned about their opponent swinging away like a drunken monkey. In fact, that is generally a defensive fighter's game plan, turtle up, wait for your opponent to miss big/gas out, and then counter their dicks into the dirt. I agree that something needs tweaking but the 100% counter phenomenon is largely encountered with fighters already near the skill pinnacle with large amounts of experience to boot. I don't think this would/should fix that problem, unless aggro striking starts taking up a lot more energy than it does. Without that we would simply reverse the problem to aggro being overpowered. It should be a gamble to try and overwhelm your opponent with strikes immediately. Either you get it and likely get the KO or you gas out and end up eating counters for the whole match.

  21. Well there is a lot of negativeness in the forums right now so i thought I would right something fun. to lighten the mood a bit. Narrator: “Teen Heartthrob, Martial arts master, Paragon of masculinity. These are just a few of the titles bestowed upon what used to be known as the promising MMA-Tycoon fighter of the old generation. A man known around the world as Johnny Cage (http://www.mmatycoon.com/fighterprofilemanager.php?FID=400). But before become a world wide sensation Jon Carlton was just a small boy with big dreams. Kung Lao (Cages best friend): “Everyone loved Jon, they gravitated towards him. We used to go to martial arts tournaments together guy would win like every category. He was a total rockstar.” Johnny Cage: “Growing up I was shy, I was weak. I actually got my ass kicked a lot, but martial arts changed all that and I was reborn and that gave the world.....Johnny Cage.” Narrator: “Over the next few parts a faded star will explore the rise and fall of Johnny Cage. From his world wide fame. To his many arrests.” Quan Raiden (Cages Boxing Trainer): “His ego just took over. He started picking fights with random people out of his weight division like Jigoro Kane. I couldn't help him enough nobody could.” Narrator: “And a string of failed attempts to transition from losing his title to trying to get it back left the troubled fighter frustrated.” Chris Karter (Syn fighter rep): “Johnny just couldn't accept the fact that he is getting older. To him he would always be that ass kicking Syn Middleweight champion that couldn't be hit.” Narrator: “This is the story of a faded star. This is the story of Johnny Cage.”

  24. And Joel Nicola is ranked 8th... So my point is that reaching rank number one doesn't necessarily mean you are a great manager in this game. If you think the most and only effective way to build a wrestler in this game is too max out strength on creation then their is some serious floors in your knowledge of the game. Which again is another indicator that you really aren't that great of a manager... A good manager maybe for still being able to get there but a great manager not even close.

  25. So let me understand this, since I have to do this soon. I have a fighter in Sydney, he is going to take a fight in Montreal. It's says 80% energy hit. So when he lands in Montreal, he will be at 20%. If he is 13 conditioning it will take him 13 sessions to get to 100%? WOW, Why is that? I could see a day maybe for jet lag, but 6 days? Professional sports teams fly all over the world for every game, they don't need 6 days of rest after getting off a plane. This seems really extreme.

  26. 1) Alex Caine has lost considerable hype while he was gone. He is also one of the nicest, most polite people i have come across in this game. Not only am I not in his alliance, but my interactions with him began when he beat me in a tournament finale for $200,000 and then proceeded to come to Blitz (the org I was signed to) and permanently roadblock my reclaiming my HW belt. The fact I still like him is a real testament to him! 2) Although I have generally disagreed with Edwardsfan for over 2 years now, I think the game (especially the forums) is losing something without him. Not only was he a great heel, but he was a great manager. His style was perfect for this stage of the game. All good guys need a villian, and he was a supervillian. 3) My Shiv Wins comment was immature. So am I. Get over it!

  29. Sorry for post this before in other two topics. I`m not spamming. Never. Is just cause there are a lot of topics talking about the changes. I tink this is the right place to express this ever with respect for every other point of wiew: Mike, may you consider to decrease the speed for the orange bar? I think around 100 points of skill the bar tends to go red very fast. Is not happy to expend half a week in maintenance. And since we can only have 7 points for natural skills is very hard to have a well rounded fighter (cause a fighter with 100 points in every skill isn`t a monster is just a nice fighter). And i still think injuries in the game are being calculated in a very strange way, cause some fighters can go trought the fight being nearly untouched and after the fight they get a huge injury and his slaughtered foes get only a 2 days injury. I know there are an Injury protection hidden but cannot imagine a good manager checking others hidden skills but: KO power, Granite Chin and Fast Learner. Maybe letting the managers chose a fourth hidden we will pick Injury protection. By the way i`m not the only one thinking in this way. There are a lot of expirienced managers saying the same. Maybe you can take another look at this topic: http://www.mmatycoon.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=24182&st=0 I know you have visited the topic before but is still growing. Is ever good to have others points of view cause not all the managers have the same feelings as misterix even when he is posting 50% of the posts in the topic. THANX AGAIN MIKE!

  30. I agree with the general feeling. Is quite simple: The sparring changes bring betterment for the game but the skill maintenance and injury decreasing are a step into the wrong way cause the overwhelming micromanagement.

  35. The one thing that I think has changed is that Tycoon has definitely become a game that needs daily maintenance. To most of us Tycoon addicts that is no big deal. To those that play it as a fun hobby it may be, not sure. The days of setting your training on Sunday for the week and only worrying about fight sliders may be gone. Again this is not a complaint as I am pretty much on the site every day, just an observation. It would be nice if there was a training auto pilot for going on vacation and so forth that would automatically train your fighter in something approaching the red, but I guess that could defeat the purpose. The only concern I could see is the bringing in of new managers. Like Jbomb said the changes were needed, but to someone who was not a regular player of this game. Damn that wiki could look overwhelming. I sent the link to this game to a buddy of mine and told him how great the game was and his response was something along the lines of, "My hair hurts just from looking at that thing. Graphs, pie charts, maintenance. Wha? It's mma, I just want to punch someone and see how i did, no thanks." haha Granted this isn't a game for those who just want to "punch someone" but it could be a bit complicated now for those who have not been playing right along. Only time will tell.

  37. There is one reasson: Testing. I go in into some QFC´s to test a new fighter and realize some things about his hiddens. And i know there are a lot of managers testing his new fighters in the same way. If we do this testing in an org we have to wait several weeks for 3 fights and even have another fight with the org if the contract says so. Using QFC`s for testing we have some clear idea of the fighter hiddens after a couple of weeks and then we can go ahead or drop the fighter. But if we create a new fighter with 25yo and get him into a QFC you fighter probably only get a project fighter kick in his virtual ass and the fight not even last enough to bring us the kind of information we looking for.

  40. Just discovered this topic as I apparently crawled out from the rock I had been under. God forbid I look in the "Game Improvements" section once in awhile. I am not in favor of this addition. This may have already been said, but we have a slider in place that allows our fighters to switch things up on the fly, it's called Follow Orders or See How it Goes. I understand how people assume round by round strategy would make the fights more realistic, but I disagree. Fighters change game-plans during the fight. On rare occasions (GSP vs Penn) an entire game-plan works. However, more often than not, it's a constant "let's see what he's going to do" game of cat and mouse. If I have a game-plan of wearing someone out, then going for the KO when they're gassed, I can implement that now. It's called clinching or striking the legs and body. For example, our sliders already allow us to kick/punch the legs and body XX% of the time, and the head XX% of the time. It also allows us to set what % of those strikes will be damage based or accurate. So if you go into a fight thinking "wear them down early - KO them late" you set your sliders with a higher % of leg/body strikes. When the opponent gasses, you DO have the chance for a KO. In addition, your fighters hiddens play a role. So using our current sliders, a fighter can go for the kill without being "scheduled" to do so via a new slider set. There are other things in the game that could use improvements before this new slider set.

  43. He has, but I don't think it's a problem at the moment to maintain 4x sensational so I suggested to make 'skill decrease speed' higher. I think it's definitly harder to build 4x sensational right now but if you already had one it's not that hard to keep him on that level. So new managers will only find it more difficult to catch up when the old ones can use the advantage they gained before the changes been made ,that's how I see it.

  44. Not sure how you can say one of the best managers in the game when he posts the only way to build a wrestler is to start them with 110 in strength... Right here To me a comment like that shows he stumbled across a build and slider settings that worked for him and not much else.... I highly doubt it will take long before his "new account" is worked out a "Leopard can't change it's spots"
