  2. Here we go... No, you can't. It's a game. There are also no dragons and you can't aim while you shoot and you can't take five bullets to the chest and still run like nothing happened.

  3. I am proprosing an increase in the vending machine space from 50 to 100. I am almost having to refill my vending machine every 2 days and I can't always get to log on every 2 days. This change is so small and probably very easy to implement but it will help out gym owners who have over a 100 members. It may also encourage more bulk buys of stock. Thanks

  5. The problem is there is limits to the realism and there doesnt have to be for the fun side of it. I am all for realism as far as the fight game goes. But i dotn think anyone would be up for having to log on 2 times per day at the same time 6 days a week and manually drive their fighters(all 5-20 of them) to the gym each session in real time. As you can see there is limit when it effects the fun. Yes it is unrealistic that you can get elite kicks and not have to train them again. But it is equally asunrealistic that you turn on Madden 2012 and everyone magically has skills each and every time you play it and never have to do anything to keep it. Tickers have some realistic aspects but it directly effects the entertainment level of the game. The "never train them again" aspect imo is one we should just over look. The basketball game doesnt fore you to train it to keep it and it managed to have 50,000 managers and 1,000-2000+ logged on at any one time. Maybe for those realism guys. When they lose a fight we can send a bunch of guys to their house and beat the shit out of them. So they get the real fighter experience. You have to draw the line somewhere. No one is going to say "im having to much fun im going to bust a nut! You guys dial the fun down a little."

  7. I most likely just lost a fight tonight because I wasnt paying enough attention evidently when setting sliders earlier today. Instead of 15% clinch, I went 85%...argh. Whose idea was it to make those two sliders work in opposite directions? I'm trying to see what possible reasoning there could have been when setting up the slider configurations.

  8. Yeah I agree, not the games fault...I made the mistake before but mine was mostly due to brain farting on the mobile version. I read the results, said "ooops im an idiot no more mobile version for me because i am apparently not smart enough to use it" and moved on...lol

  9. BJJ is subjective at best. There are guys who have rudimentary skills at best but walk around with a brown belt while other more skilled and often more experienced practitioners will only have a purple belt or lower. The belts are awarded in conjunction with the practices of the individual school so there is very little chance to quantify a certain level. Therefore it could be assumed that a purely defensive (or offensive for that matter) black belt with significant weaknesses to his game could be from a less scrupulous school while someone who is well-rounded ground specialist is a Gracie or Bravo student.

  10. You fucked yourself by not paying attention to an extremely easy task. People need to own up to their mistakes instead of looking for someone else to blame. There are many, many more important things to fix with this game.

  11. two words: skill cap It can't be anymore stupid than the system we have now. Some people complain it takes too much time to maintain, others claim it's not effective at it's purpose. It's really pointless to have tickers. AND having fighters with all sensationals or elites is equally stupid.

  12. You are not him nor have you gone through what he has. Judging someone elses behavior based on your own will always get you in trouble. And he did not say he was offended he said joking about rape is in bad taste.

  13. I beg to differ. BJJ is a lot more than just submitting people. Even more so in MMA. Good BJJ skills helps with sub defence, understanding positioning and getting good positions or getting up from the floor. Helps tremendously with GnP too becouse there you need the position first before you can land any significant shots. There are loads of MMA fighters who know BJJ but does not submit ppl in their fights. The only thing missing from most of these guys is the dyed piece of some fabric on their waists.

  14. I agree about not allowing people control of them. But the problem with that and keeping tickers even if they are invisible is you cant honestly expect people to be able to play the game without any record of when they have last trained the skill or how long they are allowed to go without training. There is over 20 different training skills you would have to track. If you give them a reading of when they last trained something or how long they can go you get the same problem. People spending time trying to avoid declines. Or have some decline and some not based on pure chance. It is just easier to not have a time limit of training something imo. If you dont train something you dont improve. Slow training down, leave a small window in which to learn. Its just much more fin and simplier. Say you have a hidden that stops a fighter from learning once they hit an age between 22-26. Even those who got a lucky hidden a got 26 wouldnt be able to mx out skills if the learnign speeds were right. You would have X amount of learnign time and you have to spend it wisely. There are many ways to achieve the same things you guys want without the problem the tickers/Maintainence cause.

  15. The whole point is not to be able to maintain them. If people try to after Mike gives tickers teeth they are completely missing the point and deserve the annoyance they get.
    1 point
  16. While i agree with what you said. Making the tickers mor eeffective will make people have to spend much mor etime trying to maintain them. People will never quit trying to keep their skills. Simply because if you put in th etime you do keep skills longer so Mike would only be fueling the fire of the process that would burn people out of the game very fast. If tickers were any faster than they are now(enought to get the effect you are talking about) i would have to just quit the game. It wouldnt be fun anymore. I like the fights and strategy of findig the game plan to win. I could careless about the other aspects of the game at this point. When those aspects interfere with the fun fighting aspect then the game just isnt worth it. Just my opinion of course.

  17. another great thing about the old game that i surely hope the new system possesses is optimism. that was one thing that was key in the old game. in the old game even as an old manager you always new that you could sack an old fighter that went 12-4 but just wasnt ever going to be the greatest, and create another one in a reasonable amount of time. even then it took probly about 4-6 months to get him to the point that he could be a p4p guy. thats a long time in real life time but it's reasonable and it keeps you interested and hooked. once it started slowing down and down and down and you pretty much started to realize that the fleet of fighters that you currently have are the fleet of fighters that you're going to end the game with, i believe it killed a lot of ppls ambition. i mean, to me, the drive for the game was always the desire to be #1. i always knew that not all of my fighters were the best on the game. but i had optimism that the next guy i created could be. so it kept me going. but as the game slowed and slowed it was actually taking away from one of the few things that keeps ppl in it i mean, just taking it from my own personal perspective and how i am as a person, if i dont feel like i've got the oppurtunity to compete at the highest level, then i dont waste my time with it. i dont feel like im alone in that. that's why i feel like it's important that fighters cycle through faster than they do currently. you've got to allow ppl there due time at the top. after all that's what we are all working for. but at the same time, you cant expect other ppl to wait forever. let's take deamus for example. he's got jeremy tonal. he's the best fighter. if it takes 2 years to get a top fighter then how likely do you think it will be that he'll hang around after tonal retires? do you think he'd be more likely to hang around if the option to create another tonal was something that only took like 4-6 months? you always want it to be revolving. in my opinion, right now things are too stationary. you want ppl to keep the feeling of movement. keep them looking forward to whats around the next corner. currently it's like you're all in with the cards you're holding. take a lesson from poker. ppl will stay in the game if the ante's are small and the cards are good. just keep dealing. the one shot system that we got now where you spend forever training a single fighter and by the time you figure out he's not gonna be P4P you've invested so much that you cant afford to let him go and cant bare to keep playing with him. you're just stuck in a situation that's not appealing in the new system i think fighters should cycle through faster and the rarity of getting a truly great fighter made less

  18. The plan is to get rid of tickers and replace with a less time-intensive system, then email everyone that left and tell them they're gone to see if we can get some people back. Now, this flippin QFC org this is a problem that I wasn't aware of. I can add a no-training option to org contracts, then we can maybe only allow 1/4 hype / pop gains from fights under those contracts, perhaps working in total skill points too. That's what I was going to do with the new fighter creation tournaments. I'm happy to discuss all other suggestions - I'm just struggling to see how an amateur system could be retrospectively added for these fighters and it would start getting really messy trying to display those fights on a manager / fighter record, unless we just didn't display them at all in the W / L / D bit at the top.

  19. last time i checked, i asked u AND max for a fight with jokinen and slaughter and to ur credit, u said "check with max"...which isn't a "no". but max declined...on the flipside, u have NEVER asked me for a fight with slaughter. such a shame. i've done a world tour, fought PLENTY of fights outside of las vegas and nyc (my two main base cities)in fact, slaughter is based in vegas, trains in nyc and fights in montreal. both fighters have 19 "home" fights and 1 "away" fight (in their last 20) but jokinen's "away" fight was where at?...helsinki. all that aside... i ain't scared to travel and i've pretty much proved that...what's ur excuse opa? gonna hide behind max some more? don't forget, the one time we fought, which u won, i had to go to u. shame, isn't it?

  20. i'd donate $5 for mike to pick a random age above 31 where the skills just start to decline no matter what u do so we can get rid of some of these old ass fighters and give some of these young bucks a chance to shine. base it off the injury hidden and don't tell anyone how fast the decline is or the exact age when it kicks in...make everybody actually pay attention to their training. i mean really...how long do these guys really need to fukn be around? don't any of u get sick of seeing the same fukn guys over and over and over? maybe that's why no one talks about the fighters like they used to...they're bored with it. i say speed up training at younger ages so we can get these guys fighting quicker and speed up the age of decline so we can move them out quicker. it would also make a "project fighter" more of a big deal becuz one would have to choose if they want to train, train, train and have a shorter "fighting career". yeah, i don't really have much of a problem with the tickers. i got some major vets, old dogs...and i've had like 4 de-pops ever...all of them were cardio. why? cuz i finally got it through my thick skull that my guys are already badasses and don't need to be more badass...they just need to STAY badass. that shit is so fukn easy it's stupid. it's training for dummies. the tickers actually TELL U WHAT U NEED TO TRAIN! hahaha! it's fukn foolproof. also...u fuckers forget that it takes 40 fukn sessions to de-pop a full point!? 40 sessions! that's an entire month! now...some of u call bullshit and that's cuz u may be at wond-- and like .5 from a de-pop, so it looks like u had a de-pop down to remark++ but in all actuality, u lost like .6 (hence the de-pop...but it wasn't even a full point! THE RED IS NOT SCARY! doing it the way i just stated, on several occasions, i have done exactly what mike intended with the whole "don't train ground game for a guy that doesn't take it to the ground" thing and believe me, it works. why bother training ground game for a fight u know will remain standing? it doesn't happen all the time cuz there are a lot of well-rounded fighters but even then, pick ur strength and go with it. is that so bad? anyways, sorry for the rant. i really just can't wait til i can retire a few guys and start some more new blood.

  21. That is an oversimplification of what QFC orgs are all about. We provide quick fights against opponents of equal skill, so there is no waiting for a month between fights and no worrying if your opponent has a lower ID or a better private gym. It evens the playing field while providing constant action. There is also no commitment to your fighters if you learn a new guy has a crap chin or the heart of Bob Sapp. They are easily replaced without falling behind the other fighters. Yes, you also gain fighters whose tickers you never have to manage, but that is not the totality of it by a long shot. I will admit it is one component some people are drawn to, but I just wanted to make sure we weren't lumped into such a simple and small box.

  22. I get your point here, and I agree that if enough people hate tickers they should be removed. I just don't hate them. I can't say that I love them, but I feel there needs to be some system that depops skills when not being trained. For the people who say they get frustrated with red tickers when they're away, they cannot be setting a well rounded training program. You do not have to log in every day to avoid depops. You do if you're are focusing on improving skills and still want to avoid depops. That's a completely different story though. Noone says you can focus and avoid depops..

  25. I don't really mind tickers, it takes me 5 min a day setting training and the few de-pops I have had have mostly been fighters I'm about to release or skills I'm dropping on purpose. My top guys just about never lose any skill at all. My issue with the tickers is that they don't do anything. They need to be much harsher. 3-4x elite fighters should not exist. I also don't like the opposite skill part of it as it makes triggers silly for specialists (Bokhari having to work harder to keep his bjj than his boxing...). Finally for physicals the way it works means all elite physicals is the only efficient solution and that's not a good thing for diversity. If the intentio nis to keep them as they are right now they might as well be removed as they do nothing. Anyone that thinks tickers are the reason young fighters today look less impressive has no idea how training works. The reason younger fighters don't improve as insanely fast as in the past is simply that training was slowed down and nothing else. Tickers could only cause any kind of slow-down if you were going extremely specialized and even then it wouldn't make much of a difference.

  27. I'll admit it takes me over an hour as well each night, but I blame that more on me being in chat when I start setting training. I set 2 fighters and get caught in a side conversation. Still, I have 20 fighters. Only 15 train, and of those 2 are spar bots. So, I am actively setting training for 13 guys each night before bed. I can easily see that going 20-30 minutes if I wasn't distracted all the time. If all my guys trained I would say 40 minutes is not unreasonable to suggest. It does take some time. My biggest complaint about tickers is not the time they take, though. My 2 issues are that they do kick in too early with 26 year olds that are almost all to the left, and Mike nerfed them right after implementation. People whined that they worked, so he nerfed how much you slip while in the red. That was a terrible move. Mike nerfing them gave people the belief that they were meant to be able to maintain their high skills when the whole goal was to make them unable to maintain those skills and force them to pick and choose which they needed. After the nerf the feeling set in that we should all be able to forever maintain our skills without ever depopping. That went completely against the point in the 1st place. We need depops, and we need to be unable to stop them all. We should have to choose which skills we need to keep and depop the ones we don't train.

  31. It has nothing to do with training. But it was in the post that Minark made, and I like it. It does relate to this thread only insofar as that the tickers were supposed to be (among other things) a way to cause fighters to degrade. I agree with you, to some extent that once you learn a skill you don't degrade back to Useless if you don't train for a while, but I do believe tat "ring rust" happens as well as physicals declining with age and damage. So I thought I would highlight that part of it and mention it. I didn't know he had gone on record of saying that either. There had been lots of speculation that it was possible.

  33. if given the oppurtunity, would you donate $5 to the game if mike tycoon removed the tickers? i put up an anonymous pole question where you can remain nameless and vote honestly. i can honestly come right out and say that i dont like the tickers and would actually pay to play a funner game without them. but that's just my opinion. and i have to believe that if enough other ppl felt the same way and banded together and raised enough real life money and vouled to donate it to the game, then we could actually possibly have an impact on mikes mindset. he's proven to be reasonable before i may be one of the of few that think this way but i dont agree with having a shitty system like the tickers in place and sucking every last drop of fun out of the game, while waiting around for something better to be developed. i say that you always want to have your best foot forward at all times and i personally believe that a better TEMPORARY system could be in place than the one we are currently playing under. i mean if the end result has already been decided and it is to get rid of the tickers for something better and you know this, then why must we suffer through the tickers in the time being? why not get rid of the shit pile while we're waiting? rather than just plopping right down beside it and suffering through the terrible fumes. i mean, if your walking along and it starts pouring down rain and your only resort is to rest under a tree until it passes and there happens to be a huge pile of smelly shit under it with you, do you leave the shit pile there to smell? or do you remove the shit pile and enjoy the most pleasant experience available to you at the moment? why not make the best of the experience? remove the shit and wait it out in fresher air

  34. How does someone joking about it or not joking about it make you feel better or worse? When someone says a fat joke not directed at me or meant to insult me i dont scale a water tower with a rifle. It has no effect on me at all. There for i dont feel the need to sensor peoples speach or especially their humor. Im sorry for your terrible experience. But if the sheer mention of the subject effects you that bad i think it is something you will just have to bare. That subject is mentioned in some form or another in every form of media and news and all fo them are much more serious than someone doing something with no ill intent. People shouldnt walk on egg shells all over the world because of each individual persons personal problems. If he used something with Rape in it then it should be up to each individual persons decision wether to support that company. Therefore you dont need to tell him what he can and cant do as if there is no market for it it wont survive.
