  1. I'll hold my hands up as the manager who had the audacity to ask why I was being offered the 7th hyped guy to defend my title against. The guy was at least 3k below my P4P rating and and I asked why I wasn't being offered one of the guys in my hype range, one of which had greater striking than me and equal wrestling and ground game. I'd have took that fight as champ and had never rejected any fights in this org before. I was then told by this guy that they were protecting their hype and didnt want to fight me yet I was expected to take a fight that didn't make any sense for the org or my fighter. I had one fight on my deal, it was obvious my fighter was too good for the org, I paid back the full signing bonus for the contract so I can find an org that is more aligned to my fighter's ability. The selective nature of the information disclosed here by this guy just reinforces why it was right for the org and my fighter to break ties. Incidentally, the org owner and the manager of the fighter I was offered are both good guys and this should not reflect badly on either of them.

  3. How is it an over statement? All fighters have the same number of skill points. It doesn't get more fair than that. I think it was funny I got neg bombed for that. I know he would be defeated against the elite of the trained. I am not stupid. He takes part in a system where every fight is fair, and where sliders actually matter. To me that says something. He doesn't have some supreme advantage over anyone else. No private 1v1 training where his opponents may be in public gyms. It is from hard work and fair fights. Other names obviously deserve to be here as well, and we can debate their proper order. I know they will be taken care of by others nominating in this thread, and I decided to name one that might have been overlooked. I think accomplishments are every bit as important as simply having the most skill points.

  6. I still think Big Nog going for an arm in guillotine when he basically had the back of a dazed Frank Mir is the single greatest error the sport has ever seen. he could of kept a far side underhook and kept punching, or take his back.. instead he goes Backwards to the front headlock, and drops back to half guard with an arm in guillotine. Frank Mir hit the lotto when Nog decided to do that

  7. No, not really. I like smack talk, I really do, but there's a difference with talking smack or just being disrespectful. But yeah it's gonna be a hell of a fight and the winner will be ranked #1 LHW in game, so cant wait.

  8. I understand from an org owner perspective and a fighter/manager perspective, and it's entirely circumstantial and varies from case to case. They shouldn't lose their belt unless stripped manually and if they auto-lose their belt from rejecting a title fight they should have the option of breaching their contract and becoming a FA - which I highly doubt any org owners would want to resort to.
    1 point
  9. It's pretty much like this. The Champion should take on all reasonable challengers. It's the owners job to present a reasonable challenger. If no challenger is present I suggest setting up a super fight, or letting the fighter go to another org on the grounds that he'll be willing to come back to defend the title (I know Mike Thomas of TTFC does this one, and good on him for it) You can't reasonably expect a high hyped champion to fight someone who is 1000-3000 ranks below him. If the champ is 100 and the challenger is say 350-400 that's a different story. That doesn't appear to be the case here, so you really have no leg to stand on IMO.
    1 point
  10. I look at it like this..........Champions should always defend their title when given an opponent, but it is up to the org owner/matchmaker to set up a good fight and that includes skill difference and weight class rankings.
    1 point
  11. The champ should only turn down a fight if he is hurt, or cant get to 100 energy. If he turns one down then he is not the champ, and should be stripped. I dont care about ID, or skills, or P4P rank. But then again, I have never turned down a fight, and wont champ or not.
    1 point
  12. In my org, the rules are simple. You have every right to request more training time or decline fights that you aren't interested in...unless you are the champ. Title belts need to stay active, so they need to be defended every 3-4 weeks. The challenger will be whoever the org deems to be the #1 contender. If you want to be a hype whore and not risk your precious hype against any and all comers, then you shouldn't have accepted a title fight in the first place. If you want to build a project and not actively fight, then you shouldn't have accepted a title shot either. I've learned the hard way to make these requirements clear BEFORE offering title fights. If guys don't like it, that is fine. I'll offer them non-title fights to run out their contract and not re-sign them. With that being said, it is very rare that I will offer the champ a fight with a lowly hyped guy. It just doesn't make sense from the org perspective. I want highly hyped main and co-main events. My event rating suffers if I pair the champ with a low hyped opponent. I've been fortunate enough to never have to strip a champion, but I would do it if a champion wasn't being a fighting champion. If you aren't willing to fight the best, regardless of hype or P4P ranking, you aren't truly the champ.

  13. I agree that tds to mount should be decreased. However, that would mean ref stand ups should also be decreased in order to allow the fighter to work himself into the position. Even fighters set to very high levels of aggression and finish get stood up quickly and it's bloody annoying.
    1 point
  14. I expect the champ to accept any challenge. If they wont fight every contender they should not have fought for the belt in the first place.
    1 point
  15. Champs should accept all title fights unless they're injured, or else they aren't champions. They're just primadonna pussies with terrible belts. The championship title exists to show who is the best fighter in that class in that organisation, if they aren't prepared to defend their claim to be that person then there is no proof they are (still) the best fighter in that class in that organisation and they should call their mum and buy some kleenex.

  16. We will do what must be done, for that is our purpose. We're Mike Tycoon's archangels of war, justice, booze, bitches, and all that is right. That is why we're better than everybody else. We were designed with purpose. The others are here for background noise and complaining.

  17. Mike has said on more than one occasion fast learner has nothing to do with intelligence.. It is the hidden that gives a boost to your learning speed... Adapts his game plan is the hidden for the intelligence boost.. Plain and simple

  18. Right, so you made it up. Just wanted to be clear on that. E: Well, not you, Rollins, seeing as you weren't the one making the claim. Sorry 'bout that. By source, I mean have you asked Mike directly or is it in the wiki? Far, far too often, people post in the Noob forum saying "X is true" when they actually mean "I overheard half a conversation in the chat while I was high on acid where some guy whose name I can't remember may or may not have stated that he possibly believed X is true". This spreads and soon we have managers believing shit like Intelligence and Fast learner are connected, Plays chess means your fighter is Intelligent, there's no difference between fighting in a cage and a ring and other retardedness. The noobs have a hard enough time without "experienced" managers feeding them bullshit.

  19. We should implement a weigh-in event where the night before an email is sent to each fighters' inbox showing who made/didnt make weight, what their attitude was during the stare-down, whether they appeared intimidated/confident, drained/healthy, strong or weak etc. The results could be based off of hiddens or they can be completely random. I believe it would add some excitement to the fight as well as anticipation

  21. The Tycoon Doubles Tournament was fun. I nominate it. I hate to self promote, but since everyone else is lol IMO Syn Euro "Bankrupting Bankrupt" Million Dollar Tournament where Budo won is the best hands down. I think it had the best grouping of talent and all kinds of major upsets. Finished off by the fight of the year/comeback of the year/KO of the year canidate Budo vs War Machine. A fight that many called one of the greatest fights, if not the greatest fight, in Tycoon history. Those guys in that tournament did me solid by bringing it every round and put on some epic fights.

  22. I think we're just used to the fact that when guys have multiple million dollars that maybe they dont need that big of a contract for just one fight, but yeah we'll give you a better offer, it's just sad that you had to bring out to the forums. And our roster is fine and we're doing just fine, thanks for being concerned.

  23. I don't see how they can allow a fighter to continue after being unconscious. That alone just seems wrong to me. You can only go without oxygen to the brain for so long before permanent brain damage begins.

  24. Somehow I should be concerned about your thoughts about Australian fighters - That line holds about as much weight as me saying you suck because you're an Amercian... I don't need to make a MMA tycoon game, because luckily for me this games creator (which by the way isn't you) has already agree that fighters at 86% are ridicules - maybe lay off the bongs and you would remember he has already pointed that out on multiple occasions during this thread to you specifically, save yourself some much needed brain cells and stop posting the same thing. Ed - fighters will still peak and yes they will peak earlier. However the peak now allows you to be god like in all facets of the game, with the cap of 70-75% - there is naturally going to be diversity as you will not be able to be god like in all facets. The cap can be floating meaing a combinations of hiddens and expereince could give you another few % however I don't think it would be wise to make it to be of an advantage as this game is already heavily dependant on hiddens - putting even more reliance on hiddens I feel is a bad move. "Sliders" slightly greater than "skills" greater than hiddens slightly greater than luck would be what I feel is a good balance.

  25. 1. If you are mismatched in BJJ that means you have advantages in other areas such as wrestling, boxing, or MT. It is called strategy. No one is out matched in everything. That is a huge argument for why Mike wants to cap skill points. Still, the over all fighter values are the same. 2. I didn't say sliders don't matter in other orgs, but when skill gaps are taken out of the equation sliders share of the responsibility does grow quite a bit. It again goes back to a major reason Mike wants to cap skill points. I never called him a god. I simply said his accomplishments deserve nomination. You started putting words in my mouth after that. 3. We are free to see fighter of the year differently. It is simply a nomination process. We haven't even gotten to the voting. But, while some may simply look at who is toughest and nothing else (skills) others look at actual accomplishments as a major factor. To trash someone for looking at other criteria is uncouth. As for hiddens, most fighters with poor hiddens are weeded out early. As soon as someone gets a fighter with cuts easily or who doesn't show a chin or KO power they are fired and replaced. This has been going on for a while, since no one needs to show loyalty to a fighter they have not stuck in a gym for 2 years. As a result hiddens have basically balanced out. There are a few who may have made it on with lesser hiddens, but for the most part anyone on a 2nd or 3rd contract has had their hiddens vetted and are pretty much on par with everyone else. I actually do feel you are trying to be a dick to a certain extent. I simply wanted to nominate someone I thought might get overlooked. I didn't expect them to win everything, but I was putting a name in just like everyone else is doing. We can disagree, and that is fine. But, saying I am high then trashing the nomination as if your criteria should be the only that exists is getting a little personal and the neg bombing a little comical. I don't accept that. I did not do that to any other nomination in this thread or any other nomination thread. I am not hurt in any way. That is simply the tone I got from your posts. A simple "I disagree" would have sufficed.

  26. Are you high? They aren't real fighters, they don't train, they would get demolished anywhere else, the most fair and evenly matched org is an overstatement, and the fact that he was ranked #1 and #16 is a travesty and illustrates how broken the ranking system is. But hey, that's just my opinion

  27. The truth hurts and yes the ufc titles are becoming a joke. Titles in the ufc are not earned anymore. They are given to the most popular and asskissing fighters. Who has the current ufc woman champ has beaten to get the belt, noone. Who has sonnen beat at lhw to get a title shot? Noone. Who did the Diaz brothers beat to get title shots? Noone. So my point is the ufc titles are just as more of a joke as wwe. Point made. You either know or too stupid to see the truth. Which ever doesn't matter to me.

  29. That fighter I released sucked a bunch of donkey testicals in the hidden department, that's for sure. But isn't it realistic for this fighter with the following stats to be........ I'm kidding. I'm cool with whatever you come up with. I've altered my perspective of elite in the past to adapt to the way this game would progress and function, I can just as easily alter it again. I'm perfectly content with the soft cap of 78-82% based off the hidden. I would like to be able to select which stats to decrease in order to make that cap, if that was possible. Not sure if that'd over complicate it or what. Also concerning the addition of new skills, no issues as long as it doesn't allow you to redistribute the stats to anything other than the new skills. Not necessarily in agreement with the skill escapes though, but it doesn't really matter to me either way. Offensive Grappling / Transitioning makes sense. I guess escapes could do as long as it didn't let you pop up out of mount like the incredible hulk.

  30. Win, lose, or draw you got to pay my fighters. NFC has 37 million and they offer me a 10k/30k/30k contract. C'mon now. No wonder why your roster is so thin. IMMA offered me the greatest 1 fight deal I've ever received. Props to Megajug, and thumbs down to NFC. Cough up the cash. I know you're just paying me to kick your champs ass, so maybe that's why you sent a low ballin offer.

  31. A better offer would greatly be appreciated. Right now I think NFC's a bunch of communist. You damn commies have 30+ million, and gonna low ball an EMPIRE - Blitz Rio/NY Hall of Famer? What are you saving all that money for, spread the wealth. EMPIRE and IMMA offer much better contracts to the guys you send over there for Superfights, I expect equal treatment at NFC.

  33. i think this is a pretty good idea and its something i have thought of before but its not something to be adding in anytime soon. there are a great many things in the fight engine that need addressing and those are things that are getting fixed once the training and tickers thing gets fixed. once all the kinks of the fight engine are modified to be more realistic maybe a year down the road or something, then we can start thinking about adding images of the damage done in the fight to each fighter. it might actually bring more people into this game and eventually u could add 2d or 3d reinactments but that is something way farther into the future that may be added only if this game actually catches on. yes it will take a very long time to do but if mike's site gets bigger and if he hires more people to help with the different types of work then it can be done. but i don't see this stuff happening anytime soon at all. most people that frequent the forums probably wouldn't agree with this idea because its making this game more instant gratification. but these are the people that prefer the glacier slow pace of the game. they probably prefer reading the newspaper and listening to the radio and eating bran and drinking prune juice. but keeping the game as slow paced as it is just isn't a good business plan. you want to turn it into a huge internet sensation? then tailor your game towards the real worlds wants and needs. keeping it the same way for the few strange reclusive forum trolls is just not the way you are going to make yourself some good money. sure adding fighter slots was a great way to grab some quick cash but im sure mike's coming to the end of that little payout right about now especially since there is a cap on how many u can buy. that said this is a great idea to look back on in the future for consideration to add to the game. it will make the game more appealing to the instant gratification types which is what this game lacks to get more managers in here. but like i said not something to be added anytime soon.

  36. This was Moyses Mattos' true punishment. I do God's work. 15 fight winning streak ended with a single punch... Takahashi cracks Laurent with a left hook right on the temple and Laurent goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Takahashi lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Laurent is OK! ...and then a few more when his fighter was down and out for good measure. As for Master Makarov (his name was something else when he got caught up the first time, I think BigBoss) just throw him to the mighty lion which is I, and I shall cast the holy fist in his direction. Once God's work is done, tycoon's integrity will be reunited.

  37. Not once did I mention or talk about how awesome I am - I reminded the people of tycoon that it's holy vigilante of justice and KO King has already done Mike Tycoon's work by smiting one of the blasphemers - but I guess it's obvious, I'm pretty fuckin awesome. If you were a tenth as awesome as I, your fighters would be much more relevant. He who sits in the shadow of greatness and cast stones, accepts his inferiority. Envy not, let ambition guide you and so shall you strive for a better tomorrow. Don't revel in your jealousy, heed my wisdom and don't covet this great one's accomplishments - for even a pawn on the chess board such as yourself, could become a King if he keeps advancing towards enlightenment - that is the light at the end of the tunnel. Follow my path, live the Convicted way, listen to thy words... and maybe you and your fighters won't suck so much.

  38. The housing/cars/other money sinks thing can work many different ways. It can be payments or 1 time payments. I do agree with Karter that it needs to be a want not a need thing, but I figure it will become a need either way. It has been proven time and time again that poeple on this game will buy anything that give a slight edge to their guy. So then people who do not buy will worry about not getting the boost. Looking at supplements its easy to see that there is little difference between a 160 supp and a 159 supp but most people buy 160. Mike made private gyms less effective not long back, but most are still using some variation of them. That way the people who flat out refuse to buy will not leave and the others will feel better about having a choice. The real issue with making it work is giving a boost from it that makes it worth buying for most. I do not see how it would require much work either. Its something you would set, and only need to change at your leisure when you wanted a bigger boost for more cash a month or to just buy a bigger house/car if its a one time payment. BTW the taxes idea is aweful.

  39. Bullshit like this is exactly what some org owners take advantage off. The way this game is built up, hype wise, it makes no sense what so ever to accept a fight like that. Losing any title fight, even against someone higher ranked, causes a massive drop in "value" of the fighter and a massive frop in rankings for the managers, something i find extremely stupid. Losing a title fight against someone a little bit lower ranked, means an even bigger value drop + manager rankings. For me to accept a fight for my sub p4p 100 fighter against someone ranked very low, like above p4p 1000, would be ignorance way beyond bravery,,,, basically only an moron would do that imo. On the other hand, there are many morons on Tycoon. If my fighter gets ranked beyond his division, i ask for superfights. Where that is an issue, i have no interest in staying there and wont sign any further fighters with that org owner. I'm not really interested in title belts, as they mean very little and come with a baggage like what this thread is about, hence some experienced managers arent interested in belts. It's a well known practice within Tycoon, to build a fighter up only to sacrifice him to a low hyped project with massive stats managed by an alliance member. The logic used to pull that off, is exactly the same as is seen in this thread.

  40. Awww did I hurt the communist dictator's feelings? Do I need to get you a tissue Gaddafi? If you're gonna cry before Moses steals your champs hype and your precious tycoon dollars that you need oh-so desperately, I'll make sure Moses brings a box of kleenex (made in China or North Korea) with him to the cage to give you after his victory. I know Moses Diggs public tirade of how shitty your contracts are might of brought a lot of attention to your communist ways - but even the jewish are much more generous than you when it comes to contracts - I won't apoligize when there's a revolution amongst your orgs roster and they demand more money, but I'm sure it'll break your little commie heart. You can take your sob story and shove it up your commie ass, stingy bastards. Diggs will happily take any of your cash he can get - win, lose, or draw.

  46. Expect to be disappointed... You have an inevitable beating heading your direction. An angry, vicious, BAMF is going to tear your fighter to shreds. His granite chin will be cracked, and the teeth that Moses knock out of his mouth will be kept as souvenirs. The commies behind NFC will be hanging their heads in shame after Moses pisses excellence all over Torturo's unconscious body. The Decision Machine doesn't stand a chance and the sooner your fighter goes down, the better. If Marko Torturo is unfortunate enough to last 5 rounds he's going to receive the beating of his life and suffer from inevitable brain damage - every bone in his body will be bruised or broken. He will never be the same again after "One Bad Man" Moses Diggs picks him apart just as he did IMMA's champ Doppo Orochi. If you make him bleed he will only hurt you more. If you kick him, he will lift you into the air and slam you on your neck. If you kick him in the nuts, he might just bite your ear off. If you finish him he will congratulate you, but he says you will not win because he will not lose. He's going to destroy you. "One Bad Man" Moses Diggs will mercilessly strike you down then climb atop your wife... Marko's wife's next baby will have an afro. After this brutal one-sided beat down I suggest going to your communist employers who are sitting on 40 million, and convince them to invest into the 6 million dollar man program to rebuild their champs dismantled body; they can make you better, stronger, faster. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HoLs0V8T5AA they owe it to him after throwing Marko into the cage to receive an ass-kicking from the baddest man he will ever fight.
