  1. Matt Lawrence: Helloooo everybooody! This is Matt Lawrence, bringing to you MMA freaks another episode of The Lawrece Minute. Today, we are here to interview the current SPPS Lightweight champion of the world and Hall of Fame inductee, "The Evil Scotsman" Frankie Logan!!! **The camera shows the entrance of Frankie Logan, who sits next to Matt. They shake hands. He's with his SPPS belt on his shoulder.** Matt Lawrence: Frankie, first of all, what a pleasure it is for us to have you here tonight. You, sir, with only 30 years of age, are being inducted to the SPPS Hall of Fame. I'd like to take a moment to congratulate you for it, it's very well deserved and makes complete sense, as you have been in SPPS for a long time - since the very beginning of your career - and not only been there, but competed in the highest level. Tell us a little bit about how did you get into SPPS. Frankie Logan: I had only competed low level grappling and won a TWGC div. 4 title. I then joined Sucker Punch when they had a starter tournament to open the org. Fortunately I won the lightweight division and have been part of SPPS ever since. Matt Lawrence: You were definitely one of the most dominant champions of the organization in your first championship run with seven title defenses, then you had your second run, making up to two defenses before losing it to Mister Mediocre. But you got up and got the belt back from Mediocre. Can we expect a trilogy with Mediocre anytime soon? Frankie Logan: Yeah, sitting at 15 title victories so far. I have had a couple of bad runs but I always come back better. Now I am very comfortable in my strengths and have a solid style for all match ups. Yeah, Mediocre is a decent fighter and beat me the first time but it was very comfortable victory for me in the rematch. I’m sure we will meet up again but to be honest he lost to my next opponent, so with 2 losses in a row I am guessing Hare will make him get a couple of decent wins against top opposition before he gets another crack. Matt Lawrence: It makes sense. Now, taking a good look at your division today, who do you think presents the biggest threat to you, your game and your belt? Frankie Logan: I think there are many guys with the potential to challenge. My next opponent is in the best form of his career so will worry about that fight before worrying about the rest of them, but guys to mention are Furioto, River, Cobain, Mediocre but I have beaten them all comfortably in the past. Matt Lawrence: Indeed you have, Frankie. And you are still very young. We know that you are now fighting for your legacy, and that a superfight against Yodsingkhun Sitsongrit might happen anytime soon. Can you share any details about it? Frankie Logan: Nothing to announce yet but there was media speculation about a super fight and I have to say I am definitely down for it and put my hand up when I heard about it. Hopefully there are negotiations between the two orgs going on in the background. Matt Lawrence: Besides that, what more do you expect for your own career from now on? What can we expect your legacy to be? Frankie Logan: I still love fighting and intend to extend my win and title records. I do need to prove myself against all comers as I am now #5 LW in the world and I want to improve on that. Matt Lawrence: Terrific, Frankie! Look, there are some questions we collected from our audience from our online channels. Let's do a quick back and forth, shall we? What's the biggest win of your career so far? Frankie Logan: Nothing stands out to be honest, I love fighting and I love winning. There has been a lot of fights and a lot of wins, its all a blur. I'm thinking my best wins are still ahead of me. Matt Lawrence: That's a hell of an answer! What about defeats? Which defeat was harder for you to digest? Frankie Logan: Probably the losses at 145 lbs? I don’t know what happened there but losing to guys like Greg Connor was pretty embarrassing. Not knocking anyone but I should never lose to fighters like that. ** Matt Lawrence nods and looks down at the card in his hand, to read the next question. ** Matt Lawrence: Uh...what's your favorite...heavy metal artist? Frankie Logan: Too many to mention but I'm a classical boy at heart so I say BLACK SABBATH! Matt Lawrence: I knew it! You do look like a Black Sabbath fan! ** Matt Lawrence giggles and looks down again, to read the next question. A confused look shows up on his face.** Matt Lawrence: Ugh...if you had to eat only one thing for the rest of your life...what would it be? **"This one was yours, wasn't it Bobby?" Matt mutters to the cameraman with a disapproving look on his face.** Frankie Logan: Steak and chips with a Guinness on the side. And fook the haggis. Matt Lawrence: I'm not going to lie, that does sound like a good choice. Well, finally, Frankie, I usually like to take the final moments of the interview and give the interviewee an open space to speak about anything, send a message, sing a song, recite poetry, anything. The mic is yours! Frankie Logan: The Evil Scotsman! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=08UBNSWFLI8&ab_channel=ParanoidPhilosopher Matt Lawrence: Fantastic!!! Ladies and gentlemen, this was Frankie Logan! Frankie, thank you so much for your time and congratulations again on the Hall of Fame induction! Keep doing what you are doing because it's certainly working, and we from The Lawrence Minute definitely hope to hear more from you soon! To our audience, once again, thanks for putting up with us! We'll be back soon! Bye-bye!!!
  2. Matt Lawrence: Heeeeeellooooo everybody! This is Matt Lawrence bringing to you another episode of The Lawrence Minute! Today we’re here to do the previews of the SPPS 197 undercard, that takes place at the Wombley Arena in London! I’m here with – you already know him – Luke Palmer! Luke Palmer: Hey there Matt, hey there everyone watching. As always, it’s a pleasure for me to be here. Hopefully we’ll be able to provide some good pre-fight analysis and place some good guesses! Matt Lawrence: Before we get to it, though, Luke, I would of course like to thank the sponsor of this event and the SPPS organization, Shadow Warrior Nutrition! Make sure to visit their website and look for your nearest store, as the quality of the products is guaranteed. Now, without further ado, let’s get down to business! Undercard Bout #1 - James Kirk v Jonny McFly Matt Lawrence: Alright folks! SPPS 197 kicks off with a middleweight bout between James Kirk and Jonny McFly! Luke, this is a fight between two guys that are still trying to find themselves in the organization. On one side, we have “Captain” James Kirk, who’s been very irregular since his arrival here at SPPS. Kirk had ten fights so far in the organization and only managed to win four of them. On the other side, we have Jonny McFly, who had a tough start against Darwin Zambrano in his SPPS debut and was coming from a four fight lose streak before that. Luke, what do you think about this one? Luke Palmer: Matt, James Kirk has a slightest better boxing between the two of them. They are equivalent in Muay Thai, but then Kirk also has the better wrestling and BJJ. From what I’ve seen, Kirk also is coming better physically prepared to this fight. I believe this is going to be a very balanced fight, but Kirk takes the win by decision! Undercard Bout #2 - Paul Gascoigne v Lou Slugger Matt Lawrence: Coming up next, we have a fight for the heavyweight division between Paul Gascoigne and Lou Slugger. Paul is coming from three losses in his last five fights, two of them in a row, against The Devils Outlaw and Christophe Dupree. Lou Slugger has three wins in his last fights, including his most recent one against Banana Republic. Luke, what are your thoughts about this next bout? Luke Palmer: Matt, these two are also still trying to shine at SPPS. Maybe it’s bad luck or maybe they need to better figure out their game. Good news is, both of them have enormous knockout power, so the audience can expect this battle to end in a knockout, to either side. It’s what most people enjoy, right? Matt Lawrence: Definitely, Luke. At least I do! But which side takes the win? Luke Palmer: Well, Gascoigne has better boxing and BJJ skills, while Lou Slugger has the better wrestling. Their Muay Thai is quite balanced, Matt. Once again, a very tough call, very balanced fight that I really believe can go either way. But I’m going to risk a guess here and say Lou Slugger wins this one by knockout. Undercard Bout #3 - Moganesh Jain v Guilherme Goncalves Matt Lawrence: The third fight of the night is a fight for the featherweight division, between Moganesh “The Monkey God” Jain and Guilherme “Leão” Goncalves! A little retrospect of these two: Moganesh was coming from a nice win streak of four fights at SPPS, till he stumbled on Brady Jean Baptiste at SPPS 188. Guilherme had his last win in CFC. He made three fights in SPPS so far but didn’t manage to take a win yet. Luke, please tell our audience how do you think this one is going to play out. Luke Palmer: Matt, first of all, I believe both these fighters have a lot of potential into this division and this is going to be a very interesting fight. They have proved to be champion material in other organizations, as Moganesh Jain kept the belt in Rapid FC for a while, and so did Guilherme Goncalves at WCF. That being said, I see Guilherme as the best striker of the two, as he has better boxing and Muay Thai. Their grappling skills are balanced, although Moganesh has a better BJJ. Guilherme has proved to have great knockout power, while Moganesh is more versatile and won most of his fights by sub. I think this is going to repeat in this next fight, Matt. Moganesh is going to impose his game and get the win by submission. Undercard Bout #4 - Jun Liu v African King Matt Lawrence: Coming up next we have a fight for the middleweight division, between Jun Liu and African King. Luke, these two aren’t exactly coming from too bad scenarios. Jun Liu has won his last two fights, one of them being his debut at SPPS against Paulo Blikstein. African King doesn’t have a very good looking fight record – he is currently 11-14 – but he’s actually coming from a six fights win streak, two of them being at SPPS! It looks like things really started to work to King after he signed with his new manager, Steve Bertrand! Luke Palmer: Indeed, Matt! But he’s not going to have an easy life in this fight. Despite King being a bit better at Muay Thai, they are pretty evenly matched. Besides, rumor has it that Jun Liu had a better preparation camp for this fight and will be showing up better shaped, with more energy and higher morale. We know these are game changing factors. Matt Lawrence: In this case, then, who you think is going to get the win? Luke Palmer: At the risk of sounding repetitive, Matt…hehe, well, it’s going to be a close call, again. But I think African King is a man on a mission and he seem to be improving. I’d be willing to bet he beats Jun Liu by submission! Undercard Bout #5 - Bryan Gracie v Longsun Zhao Matt Lawrence: Alright! We’ve reached the last fight of the undercard. Before the main card starts, we have a middleweight bout between Bryan Gracie and Longsun Zhao. These two have been in the SPPS roster for a long time now, Luke. but unfortunately, so far they have not been able to present very consistent results. Bryan Gracie is 4-5 in SPPS and Longsun Zhao is been here his whole career. He is 13-17. Luke Palmer: Well, I guess not everyone is going to be a champion, but everyone has bills to pay, right? Matt Lawrence: I agree with you there, Matt. Now tell us who you think is going to take the win on this one. Luke Palmer: Matt, when we take a good look at these two, it’s clear that Zhao has a big advantage in the striking department. Their wrestling skills match each other’s, though, and Gracie has the best BJJ. We can’t forget that these two have already met inside the cage – neither can Bryan, although I’m sure he’d want it. In their first fight, it only took Zhao 28 seconds to finish his business with Gracie, so Gracie better come well prepared. Anyway, I see the same situation from the first fighting being repeated tomorrow. Zhao wins again by knockout! Matt Lawrence: Terrific, Luke. It’s a good guess, I totally agree with you on this one. With that, we wrap the SPPS undercard previews. As always, it was a pleasure being here with you and with the audience. To the audience, thanks for putting up with us once more! We hope you all enjoy the beautiful card tomorrow and don’t forget to share your opinions with us. I’ll see you soon! Bye-bye!
  3. Matt Lawrence: Heeeeeeelloooooooo everybody! This is Matt Lawrence again, with another episode of The Lawrence Minute, your very favorite (or at least I hope so) MMA show! Tonight we are here to do the previews for the very exciting SPPS 192 Main Card! With me, of course, you know him: Luke Palmer! Luke Palmer: Hi Matt, hello audience! It’s a pleasure to be here with you all again, I’m sure we’re going to have a lot of fun going through these previews. As you already said, Matt, what an exciting card! Matt Lawrence: It really is, Luke. Although we don’t have any title matches in the card, we have some really interesting match-ups! The LA Memorial Colossuseum is going to witness a great show tomorrow night. Before we go any further, I would like to take the time to thank the great Sucker Punch partner, Shadow Warrior Nutrition. Check out your nearest store for the highest quality products on market! Well, without further ado, let’s get down to business! Main Card Bout #1 - Mareth Line v Seemah Feet Matt Lawrence: Luke, in the first fight of the main card, we have a welterweight bout between Mareth Line and Seemah Feet. They are both coming from losses in their last fights, both in the same card, SPPS 181. Mareth lost to Juan Christiano and Seemah lost to A. Mere Con, both by decision, if I remember correctly! Luke Palmer: That’s correct, Matt. We start the main card with a very balanced fight. Seemah is slightly younger, with 2 years less than Mareth, but their skills are pretty much evenly matched – at least in my opinion, of course. They are similar at Boxing, Muay Thai and wrestling, although Seemah has some advantage in the BJJ department. He’s a black belt, while Mareth is a brown. Matt Lawrence: I’m glad you brought that up, Luke. You certainly know that these two are no strangers to each other, right? They’ve actually met before, back in May, at CFC! Back then, though, Mareth didn’t take notice of Seemah’s black belt and finished him in an armbar, remember? Luke Palmer: Oh, shit! Yeah Matt, I remember. Well, of course, nothing in MMA is guaranteed, specially not because of a belt color. Matt Lawrence: And what do you expect from their next encounter, Luke? Luke Palmer: I honestly think Seemah’s going to get his revenge this time, Matt. I don’t think he’s going to pull off a finish or submission, but he’ll do good enough to win by decision. Matt Lawrence: Excellent! Let’s see what’s next. Main Card Bout #2 - Thoth Chontamenti v Zygmunt Krol Matt Lawrence: Ok, next fight coming up is the bout between Thoth Chontamenti and Zygmunt Krol, for the heavyweight division. Luke, we are talking about very dangerous fighters. On one side, we have a 30 years old Thoth Chontamenti, former SPPS Heavyweight Champion who’s working to get to the top of the division again. In his last five fights he slipped twice, once against Boris Balkan and more recently against Thiago Araujo. But his last victory against Techno Viking was a statement, what a Knockout! Luke Palmer: I agree with you there, Matt, Thoth still has a lot to show. Matt Lawrence: On the other side, we have Zygmunt Krol. 28 years old, this man simply doesn’t know what it is to lose a match in his last four fights. He knocked out all his last four opponents, all of them in the first round. That’s some power, uh, Luke? Luke Palmer: Oh, Matt, definitely. Definitely. Krol is looking sharp. He has the better boxing and wrestling, Chontamenti has the better BJJ. Their Muay Thai is pretty balanced. Chontamenti is the most versatile fighter in my opinion, or at least he used to be early in his career. They both have decent KO power, so I feel that, if they choose to keep the fight on the stand up, it can really go either way. We are talking about the heavyweights here, so whoever connects a “big hand” first, might take the win. Matt Lawrence: Ok, that’s what we call “fence sitting” back home! Luke Palmer: Hehe, ok. Look, we have to take into account that these two already met each other before. Krol lost to Chontamenti back then, in the SPPS 96, by decision. It was a long time ago and I think Krol is going to step into the cage seeking revenge. As I said, he’s sharp, he’s coming from great performances. His confidence must be in the sky. I think he knocks Thoth out. Matt Lawrence: Alright, that’s better. Will we really see the giant gothic man being KO’d tomorrow night? I can’t wait! I mean, for the show, not your KO, Mister Chontamenti! Don’t get me wrong! Main Card Bout #3 - Juan Christiano v Samuel Hardaway Matt Lawrence: In the third bout of the main card, we have a fight for the welterweight division! Juan Christiano faces Samuel Hardaway, the “Holy Roller” versus “The Sandman”! This is the first fight of the main card where we can say both fighters are completely new to each other. There’s no score to settle here – yet! Luke Palmer: Indeed, Matt! Let’s take a look at Juan, first, ok? He’s an extremely well-rounded fighter, good at every “MMA department”. I mean, elite Boxing, Muay Thai and wrestling and a BJJ black belt. This holy man can handle himself, right? He’s coming from a quite positive balance from his last five fights – only one loss against Manco Capac. He beat Mareth Line most recently, at SPPS 181, by unanimous decision. Matt Lawrence: Thanks, Luke. Now, Samuel Hardaway. 6 years older than Juan, he has a slight disadvantage in the grappling department. His wrestling and BJJ are not as good as Juan’s, it looks like. His last five fights look a lot like his opponent’s: 4 wins and 1 loss. He’s coming from a 3 fight win streak, though, his most recent victim was Bender Mein Armbach, at SPPS 182. Who do you have your money on in this bout, Luke? Luke Palmer: Matt, from what I know of these two, this is going to be another stand-up battle, they’re not going to take the game to the ground. I also don’t see them knocking out each other – I hope I’m wrong, we all love some K.O.’s, don’t we? That being said, I see Juan as the most aggressive fighter here and I honestly believe he has the most chances at winning, probably by scoring more points and taking a win by decision! Main Card Bout #4 - Holden Gracie v Penkosip Bizihwaile Matt Lawrence: Coming up next, we have the co-main event of the card, a fight between Holden Gracie and Penkosip Bizihwaile for the middleweight division. Holden Gracie is coming to this fight after five wins in a row, the last one being against Kirov Sturmovik back in SPPS 185. All of his last wins happened by the way of knockout. Now, Penkosip had two losses in his last five fights, including his most recent bout against Tanaka Matsuda, in SPPS 181. What do you think about this one, Luke? Luke Palmer: Matt, Holden is the best boxer of the two. His skills with the 8 limbs of Muay Thai are also slightly superior when compared to Penkosip’s. Penkosip, in turn, has considerably better wrestling, and they are both BJJ brown belts. Penkosip seems to be the most aggressive fighter, always throwing a bigger volume of strikes, while I feel Gracie is more of a counter-attacker. This is going to be a tough one for sure. Matt Lawrence: It’s interesting to note that neither of them has ever finished a fight by way of submission, Luke. Do you think we can expect this to be a first time or are we going to see another striking battle? Luke Palmer: I’d be surprised, to be honest, Matt. I bet these two are going for a striking battle, and more: I think Holden Gracie knocks Penkosip out. He is going through a very good moment and has shown what he is capable of in his last fights. Matt Lawrence: Well, I can’t wait to find out if you are right! Main Card – Main Event - Ara Tiotio v Tinashe Chukwuma Matt Lawrence: Alright! We have finally reached the main event for another heavyweight exciting bout! God knows heavyweight fights are some of my favorites! For this bout, we have in one of the corners Ara Tiotio, the “Turtle” from New Zealand, former CFC Heavyweight champion against Tinashe Ckukwuma, from Algeria, one of the former CFC’s top contenders! Luke Palmer: Matt, these two have met before for a title dispute, back in CFC! Tiotio knocked Tinashe out back then, in less than 2 minutes! Matt Lawrence: Indeed, Luke. A lot has changed since then, though, right? Tiotio has not really “found” himself at SPPS yet, coming from two losses, one against Pedro Fuentes the other against John Fury. This 36 years old veteran is still looking for his first win at the Sucker Punch. As for Tinashe, this is going to be his SPPS debut! He had a tough time back at CFC, having two title shots there and unfortunately failing in both. Can he make it here, at SPPS? Luke Palmer: Matt, Tiotio is a K.O.’ artist. Impressive 32 knockouts on his record, no subs, only 1 decision. The mast majority of his wins in the first round. We are talking about an assassin here. Tinashe is more versatile, I’d say he can handle himself better on the ground, or at least he has needed it more often than Tiotio, I don’t know. Tiotio has better boxing skills, while Tinashe has some considerable advantage in Muay Thai. Their wrestling skills are very balanced when compared to each other and Tinashe is a BJJ black belt, while Tiotio is a brown belt. Matt Lawrence: Ok Luke. What do you think we can expect from this main event? Luke Palmer: Matt, I can be totally wrong, but I think this main event, as the whole main card, is a card designed for the striking fans. I don’t think we will be seeing much grappling, but, again – I can be totally wrong. It’s just my feeling, ok? So, this one, for me, is also going to be a very, very interesting stand-up fight. I think Tiotio has the advantage against Tinashe – he’s more experienced, he has already fought some of the top fighters in the division, including the current champion, Pedro Fuentes – before he was the champ, of course. I’d bet on a win from Tiotio, by knockout. Like you said yourself, Tiotio hasn’t find himself in the organization yet, so I believe he is going to bring his “A game” – which can be a little too much for Tinashe at this point. Matt Lawrence: Very interesting, Luke. I’ll agree with you on this one. And with that, we wrap the SPPS 192 Previews! Luke, I’d like to thank you very much for your presence here with me tonight and your well thought opinions. To the audience, thanks for putting up with us for so long! If you agree or disagree with us, we want to know! That’s all, folks! I’ll see you soon!
  4. SPPS 181 - MAIN CARD PREVIEW Main Card Bout #1 - A. Mere Con v Seemah Feet Matt Lawrence: Ok folks! We are back with the previews for SPPS 181. If you are just arriving, I’m Matt Lawrence and I have with me tonight Luke Palmer, trying to make the most accurate analysis and predictions! Coming into the main card, we start with a fight between A. Mere Con and Seemah Feet. A little background for this fight: Mere Con is coming from three wins in his last fights, two in the old CFC and one in his SPPS debut against Thomas Hearn. Seemah Feet is coming with a positive balance from his last three fights, with alternate results, that is, a win, a loss and a win again, the last fight being also his SPPS debut, against Bender Mein Armbach. Luke Palmer: That’s correct, Matt! A. Mere Con is a fighter with exceptional boxing skills, which he uses very well inside the cage. He’s a fighter that normally uses a high volume of hand strikes and that rarely kicks, so if I had to give Seemah an advice, it would be: be careful with those hands! Seemah, in turn, has a ground game that I consider safer and more advantageous for him. In my opinion, the way to victory for Seemah is to close the gap and work on the clinch, or try to take the fight to the ground. That's exactly what Mere Con should avoid. Matt Lawrence: But Mere Con is a BJJ brown belt and I’d say his wrestling skills are on par with Seemah’s, no? Luke Palmer: Well, yeah, but somehow, Seemah is more comfortable than Mere Con on the ground. Their records shows it. Matt Lawrence: Makes sense, makes sense. So, who takes the win in this one? Luke Palmer: Matt, I honestly think it's going to be a very balanced fight. I believe both fighters and their respective teams will be very aware of the points I mentioned here and will be prepared for it. So my guess is that the fight will be decided on points, and Seemah takes the win. Probably a split decision. Main Card Bout #2 - Wallace Cobb v Tank Tribute Matt Lawrence: Coming up next, we have the second fight of the Main Card, a battle in the Light Heavyweight division between Wallace Cobb and Tank “Weapon X” Tribute! I gotta say, Luke, this if my favorite division in the sports and we get to see a very interesting fight between these two! Luke Palmer: Definitely, Matt. On one side, we have the veteran Wallace Cobb, who has presented irregular performances since his arrival in SPPS, with 2 wins and 2 losses. Even so, he is an extremely explosive and extremely dangerous fighter, with great firepower. Of the 29 victories he has accumulated in his career, 21 were by knockout. Matt Lawrence: True, Luke. He is an extremely aggressive fighter. However, Cobb will not have an easy time against Tank Tribute. It’s quite the opposite, actually, I’d say! There is a huge age difference between the two, that will certainly weigh in Tank's favor. In addition, I would say that Tank has a record as impressive or even more impressive than Cobb's. 17 of his 18 wins have come from knockouts, so we can wait for a battle. Luke Palmer: I agree with you there, Matt. It's also interesting to remember that Tank has already had two title shots in SPPS, one against John Fury and another against the current champion, Radu Dracul. Unfortunately (for him), he was not successful in either, but I'm sure the dream of being champion remains. My guess, Matt, is that Tank beats Cobb. I think the younger lion beats the older lion in a bloody battle. Matt Lawrence: Interesting analogy there, Luke. So, knockout? Luke Palmer: Knockout, definitely. These two will go into frantic striking. It's going to be an exciting fight to watch. Main Card Bout #3 - Tanaka Matsuda v Penkosip Bizihwaile Matt Lawrence: Luke, looks like we have another great matchup in SPPS 181. The third fight of the main card is a fight for the Middleweight division, between two fighters that come packed in victories from their last fights, with morale in the heights! Both don't know what it's like to lose in the last three fights, but unfortunately one of them will remember the taste of defeat tomorrow night. I’m talking about Tanaka Matsuda and Penkosip Bizz...Bizihwaile! Luke Palmer: Matt, you know what's going to be interesting about this fight? Their game doesn't match. Let me explain: Tanaka is the better grappler. He has the better wrestling and the better BJJ, that is, all the tools for the ground game, to look for a submission. In fact, I think we can say that he is an expert in this department, as he has made 12 dudes tap in his professional career. That’s no ordinary number. On the other side, we have Penkosip, a man who never made anyone tap in his entire career, however knocked the hell out of 12 fighters. You see my point here? Matt Lawrence: Of course, Luke. It won't be a battle to see who has the best striking or who gets the submission. It's going to be one trying to subdue the other within their specialty. Correct? Luke Palmer: Perfect, that’s how I see it. It’s your turn to make a guess, Matt. Matt Lawrence: Hmm. Ok. From what I've seen of Penkosip, he is a very active and aggressive standup fighter, as well as being very versatile. From his toolbox he takes punches, kicks, knees and elbows with equal ease. My guess is that Penkosip imposes his game and knocks out Tanaka. Luke Palmer: I couldn’t agree more, Matt! Excellent guess! Main Card Bout #4 - James Yarborough v Leyte Gulf Matt Lawrence: Alright! Fourth fight of the main card and penultimate of the night! In this bout we have two huge names of the Middleweights, James Yarborough and Leyte Gulf. Let’s bring a brief retrospective of these two, starting with James Yarborough. James was the CFC Middleweight Champion when the company was absorbed by SPPS. This, of course, led to a well deserved title shot in SPPS, facing Chip Nickel for the belt in his very first fight in the organization, which he ended up losing. Now, Leyte Gulf. Gulf is a well-rounded and very experienced fighter, coming to make his fourth fight in SPPS. In the last three fights, he managed to win two by decision, against Shen Po and Korben Dallas (his most recent one) and lost to James Hunt. What do you think of this bout, Luke? Luke Palmer: Matt, a worthy fight to prepare us for the main event. This is going to be interesting. Overall, I believe the abilities of these two are fairly evenly matched and both come very well prepared for this fight. The fight will be decided in the details. Matt Lawrence: Looks like you want to sit on the fence here, Luke. Luke Palmer: Hehehe, ok, Matt. I think James wins this one by decision, maybe even a split decision, because that’s how close I believe this fight is going to be. I say more: I believe he will fight more sparingly, counter-attacking more and looking for accuracy more than anything else. Matt Lawrence: Great, Luke. We are going to disagree on this one. The way I see it, Leyte Gulf is going to use his experience and knock James out. Luke Palmer: It can go either way, really. Main Card – Main Event - Radu Dracul v Jeremy Jones Matt Lawrence: Ladies and gentlemen, thanks for putting up with us for so long! If you are still here, we would like to thank you immensely. We are finally coming to the Main Event! Luke Palmer: Matt, I haven’t been so excited for a fight in a long time, I’ll tell you that. Matt Lawrence: Indeed, Luke! In the main event of SPPS 181, we will have the fight for the Light Heavyweight belt between the current champion, Radu Dracul, and the challenger, Jeremy Jones! The challenger, Jeremy Jones, has only one fight at SPPS, but he has such a strong name that it alone gave him his chance at the title! Jeremy is a veteran. 38 years old, he was a champion in many organizations, such as RISE and PFC, in addition to having come very close to becoming champion in others. Luke Palmer: Matt, Jeremy has sent more fighters to the shadow realm than the current champ has in numbers of fights in his career. That’s the level of threat he presents. In addition, Jeremy is quite competent in all MMA departments. He’s an elite boxer and wrestler, brown belt in BJJ and his Muay Thai is sensational! He is a fighter who works very well both outside and inside the clinch and will certainly do everything to keep the fight on the standup. I don’t see him going for takedowns or allowing them at any point. Matt Lawrence: Excellent, Luke. Now, Radu “The Handsome” Dracul, the Champ! 10 years younger than the challenger, Radu has been doing a simply dominant performance to retain his title. After taking the belt from Sora Izanagi, Radu has defended it an impressive 5 times, against Ryan Bolt, Tank Tribute, Sora Izanagi, Ryan Bolt again and Sammy Beach. He’s 14-3 on his record, always being very versatile on the wins, getting most of them by K.O., but also subs and decisions. Luke Palmer: Matt, what Radu does is amazing. I've seen him discredited before, and I understand. Anyone who does a very theoretical analysis, looking only at numbers and so on, might tend to think that Radu is going to lose. In his last 5 fights, I saw experts saying he was going to lose, and I often agreed with them. Well, Radu always disagrees with the experts and somehow, he’s getting the job done fight after fight. It’s just amazing. He has certainly etched his name into the organization's history. Matt Lawrence: I understand you perfectly, Luke. Radu’s grappling skills are unquestionable, but, although his striking is not of the highest level, he knows very well how to use the weapons available in his arsenal. Luke Palmer: Exactly! He has more K.O.’s than Subs in his record! So Matt, I'm tired of discrediting this champion. I believe he will keep his belt and I'm rooting for that, actually. I respect Jeremy a lot, but even with all his experience and skill, I don't think he can beat Dracul. Matt Lawrence: Very interesting, Luke. To be completely honest, I think Jeremy Jones has a good chance of stealing Radu’s belt tomorrow night. I venture to say that Radu has not had a challenge of such magnitude so far in his career and he’s going to have a surprise. Luke Palmer: One way or the other, it’s definitely going to be a hell of a fight! Matt Lawrence: That’s what we expect! Ladies and gentlemen, that’s it. These are the previews for SPPS 181. Please tell us what you think, if you agree or disagree with us, we want to know! Luke, thank you very much for being here with me tonight, I hope we can get to do this again soon. It was really a pleasure. For the audience, thanks for watching us and I’ll see you soon! Bye-bye!!!
  5. Matt Lawrence: Heeeeeeelloooooooo everybody! This is Matt Lawrence with another episode of The Lawrence Minute, which today is going to be more like The Lawrence Hour! Yes, today we're here with a different proposal, so instead of the usual pre-fight interviews, we'll be bringing you MMA freaks the preview of the Sucker Punch Pro Series 181 event! I am honored to have by my side today the MMA enthusiast and youtube celebrity, Luke Palmer! Luke Palmer: Thank you, Matt. SPPS 181 is a card that promises to be very interesting and will rock the LA Memorial Colossuseum, here in Los Angeles. Some very interesting bouts, crowned by a title fight in the main event! Matt Lawrence: Indeed, Luke. Before we go any further, we would of course like to thank the sponsor of this event and the SPPS organization, Shadow Warrior Nutrition! Make sure to visit their website and look for your nearest store, as the quality of the products is guaranteed. Now, without further ado, let’s get down to business! Undercard Bout #1 – Rockwell Mcgee v Luigi Bonifacio Matt Lawrence: Ok! SPPS 181 kicks off with a rematch in the welterweight division, between Rockwell Mcgee and Luigi Bonifacio. “Lanky” Bonifacio is an MMA veteran, 37 years old, going to his fourth fight at SPPS and facing for the second time a much, much younger “Rocky” Mcgee. How do you think this one is going to play out, Luke? Will Luigi get his revenge? Luke Palmer: Well, Matt, I honestly don’t think so. Of course it can always go either way, but I believe we will see something very similar to what happened in their first fight. Age weighs heavily against Bonifacio, and he’s very outboxed by Mcgee. Except for his wrestling being better than Mcgee’s, their other skills are pretty much even. And I don’t think his wrestling is going to be good enough for him to dominate the fight. Matt Lawrence: So, who do you have your money on? Luke Palmer: I think “Rocky” Mcgee wins this one by TKO. Although Bonifacio is coming from a win and has the highest morale, "Rocky" needs the victory and will enter this fight with a thirst for blood. Undercard Bout #2 – Pablo Itzpapalotltotec v Montesh Dominguez Matt Lawrence: Alright, the second fight of the night is between Pablo…Jesus Christ, this is one is difficult… Itzpapalotltotec. Yes, let’s just call him Pablo. As I was saying, this is going to be the fight between Pablo and Montesh Dominguez, another welterweight bout. In this fight, we won't have any significant age differences, which could make things even more interesting. These two have been on the SPPS roster for a long time, but will meet for the first time in SPPS 181. Luke Palmer: Matt, both fighters also come very well prepared for this fight, with good morale and energy. Pablo is known to be the best boxer. He also has the best wrestling and is a BJJ black belt. The only advantage for Montesh Dominguez is his Muay Thai. Matt Lawrence: Any guesses for this one, Luke? Luke Palmer: Oh yeah, I think Pablo gets a win by split decision. Undercard Bout #3 - Azacca Trounvouche v Imani Idowu Matt Lawrence: Next fight coming up is the bout between “The Original Rude Boy”, Azacca Trounvouche and Imani Idowu. Both fighters are coming from wins, Imani knocked out Cleon Wright in his debut at SPPS and Azacca got a win by split decision, also in his debut at the organization, against Saggy Dinglestomper. How do you think this one is going to play out, Luke? Luke Palmer: Well, Matt, Azacca is technically better in every department and he fights extremely well for an one-eyed man, but at the end of the day, I believe Imani has more KO power and will end up landing a big shot and ending the fight. What about you, Matt? You're too comfortable just letting me take all the guesses, eh? Matt Lawrence: Hahaha, well, yeah, Luke, that’s why you are here, after all, but ok. I disagree with you and I believe Azacca takes this one. He’s more well-rounded, a couple of years younger…I think he wins this one by decision. Luke Palmer: There you go, that wasn’t hard, was it? Undercard Bout #4 - Violent Femme v Michael Aalto Matt Lawrence: In the fourth fight of the night, we have a featherweight bout between Violent Femme, whom is undefeated in SPPS so far and Michael Aalto, whom, despite coming from some ups and downs, is a former SPPS Featherweight champion. Luke Palmer: Matt, this is a very interesting fight, one of the most interesting of the undercard, in my opinion. Here are two names to watch out for, as I believe that soon we will be seeing at least one of them challenge the tops of the division, maybe even fighting for the belt. Who knows? The former champ, Aalto, certainly misses his old days of glory and the other guy, Violent Femme, is slowly carving his name into the organization. That being said, I don't expect this fight to be extremely exciting, but it will be a very technical fight and I believe it will end by decision, for either side. Matt Lawrence: Oh come on, you gotta pick one. Luke Palmer: Alright, I think Femme takes the win. Undercard Bout #5 - Juan Christiano v Mareth Line Matt Lawrence: Next, finishing the Undercard, we are going to have a fight between Juan Christiano and Mareth Line, in the middleweight division! Juan, who’s a former SPPS champion, is coming from a loss in his last fight against Manco Capac. Mareth is also coming from a loss, in the fight that was his SPPS debut, against Toussaint Bissainthe. Luke Palmer: Why don’t you tell us how do you think this on will go, Matt? Matt Lawrence: Sure, no problem! I think Juan wins this one, Luke. It seems he’s just more competent in every area; striking or grappling. Yeah, I think he wins, by way of knockout! Luke Palmer: Great. I agree with you almost 100%, Matt, except I don’t think it’s gonna be easy and they’ll go to distance. To me, Juan takes this one, but by decision. Matt Lawrence: Terrific! With that, we gloriously close the previews of the SPPS 181 undercard! Dear viewers, don't leave us, because we’ll be back soon with the main card previews! Stay tuned!!!
  6. Matt Lawrence: Heeeeeellooooo everybody! This is Matt Lawrence bringing to you another episode of The Lawrence Minute, a show created to all of you MMA freaks around the world! As usual, let's get down to business! Tonight we are here at the Park Plaza Hotel, in London, waiting for he Sucker Punch Pro Series 168 that will happen tomorrow at the Wombley Arena! With us tonight, we have Thoth Chontamenti, who’s going to face Thiago Araujo on tomorrow's card. Matt Lawrence: Thoth, welcome and thank you very much for being here with us tonight. First of all I would like to know a bit more about your recent management change. This will be your first fight under Dries Flucht, the fourth manager of your career. How has it been, working with Dries and his team, and what can we expect in this new phase of your career? Thoth Chontamenti: I'm very excited to be under Dries, a fairly new manager in the game. He has been remarkable in his short time in the industry so I can confidently say that he'll have me fighting for the title once again soon. Matt Lawrence: Oh yes, sir, you are a former SP Heavyweight Champion with a considerable number of defenses, enough defenses for some to say you had a dominant run at it. How do you see the Heavyweight division today? How far do you think a win tomorrow is going to put you, regarding a new shot at the title? Thoth Chontamenti: Today's heavyweight division is, in my opinion, the most competitive in Sucker Punch history so now it'll be harder than ever to climb up the rankings, but I believe I can do it. A win tomorrow will boost my confidence a lot to be honest. I've been down lately, mostly due to my bad run under previous managers. Matt Lawrence: Tomorrow, you’ll be fighting Thiago Araujo, a MMA veteran making his debut at SPPS. What can we expect from this fight? Does his ground game worry you? Do you want to send a message to him? I’m pretty sure he’s gonna be watching us! Thoth Chontamenti: There are definitely some aspects in his game that worry me. His 23 submission victories are a problem for me, that's why I'll be aiming to knock him out when we step inside that cage! Matt Lawrence: There you have it, ladies and gentlemen! Thoth Chontamenti! Thoth, once again, thank you very much for meeting us in such short notice. Next time, hopefully we'll have more time to talk about your musical tastes, and maybe get some hairstyling tips from you. Good luck in your fight tomorrow! Bye- bye everyone and I’ll see you soon!
  7. Matt Lawrence: Heeeeeellooooo everybody! This is Matt Lawrence bringing to you the first ever episode of The Lawrence Minute, a show created to all of you MMA freaks around the world! Without further ado, let's get down to business! Tonight we are here at the Sheraton Grand Hotel, in the magnificent city of Los Angeles, where tomorrow takes place the Sucker Punch Pro Series 162, at the LA Memorial Colossuseum. I know that, like myself, you are all looking forward to this card that really promises to be wonderful. So, to give you all a taste of what’s to come, we invited none other than the current SPPS Lightweight Champion, Mister Mediocre! Matt Lawrence: Mister Mediocre, first of all, it’s a pleasure to have you here with us tonight. You're having a good run so far, coming off a good streak of victories in the World Combat Federation, to a little stumble before hitting a good win streak again here at the Sucker Punch, paving the way and winning the first belt of your career. Tell us, mere mortals who may never experience such a feeling: how does it feel to be a champion? Mister Mediocre: Man, it feels great! When I first got offered a contract at Sucker Punch I wasn't sure if I deserved it you know? This is one of the biggest orgs in the World. I think that played on my mind a bit coming into my first fight against Greg Connor. I wasn't at my best. My trainer told me after that fight that I've just got to block everything out once I'm in that octagon and just focus on what I need to do to win. That's what I've done ever since and it took me all the way to the top. Matt Lawrence: Now you are the champion of one of the most disputed divisions of the Sucker Punch Pro Series. I'm sure there are a lot of people watching you right now, planning to take what's yours, including the former champion himself, Frankie Logan. What do you think it’s going to take to keep the belt around your waist? Mister Mediocre: This division is stacked. Whole bunch of different styles too. You know, me and Frankie just beat the shit out of each other for 25 minutes, that dude is a mad Scot, he'll just keep coming. Then you got this bendy man Furioto I got at the PPV next week. One of the best ground guys we've ever seen at the org so you've always gotta be ready for anything here. One guy I think everyone needs to keep an eye on is this young kid Alderidge who just came over from Dynasty. I think he's got what it takes and I'm sure we'll be meeting each other sooner than later. As for me keeping this belt? Well one of these dudes has to take it from me and that ain't gonna be no easy task. Matt Lawrence: That’s the spirit, my friend! And you have a good point. In the fight against Logan, we saw a real striking battle, a whole 25 minutes of pure striking and a total of 0 takedowns. Now, you are going to face a man who, in addition to being very well versed in the arts of submission, also carries with him more experience inside the cage. Not trying to be intrusive about your gameplan here, of course, but what do you think is going to be the key to victory? Would you dare to give our audience any predictions on how and when this fight against Furioto will end? I know they’re gonna love it! Mister Mediocre: Keep it simple. Keep it standing. That's the key to victory. Or am I just saying that? Maybe I'll shock the World and choke him out. Who knows? Matt Lawrence: Fighting him where he's good would certainly be a wonderful thing to see! Lastly, Mister Mediocre, do you have anything you would like to say? To whoever you want, really. Your opponent, your fans, your girlfriend. The microphone is yours. Mister Mediocre: The champ is here! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Nz3DL6EXtQ Matt Lawrence: Aaaaalright, this was Mister Mediocre, ladies and gentlemen! Mister, good luck on your fight tomorrow and thanks for this awesome interview! Bye-bye everyone and I'll see you soon!
  8. Hello there Big Wave, I've been watching the great work you guys have been doing in Hilo. If there's any way I could help you, let me know. I'm a new player willing to learn more about the game, specially about the ORGs and how they work and I'd love to do so here, helping you guys with some writing if needed, or with the recruiting feature. Let me know!
  9. Hey there! I'm Thiago, a new manager around these parts. I gotta say I'm still figuring everything up and I'd love to be involved with an ORG, to learn how everything works and help somehow. If this is something that makes sense to you, hit me up so we can talk! And good job, by the way!
  10. This is an cut from the famous brazilian podcast, A Hora do MMA. Hosted by MMA fan and enthusiast, Diego Palhares. Cut #2. Diego Palhares: Thiago, you've mentioned earlier that you are starting to tread new paths in this MMA world. We know that you've participated in camps for some well-known names in recent years, in large organizations, even being present in the corners of some athletes. Tell us a little about this new journey and what we can expect from you in the future. Thiago Siqueira: Well, Diego, have you ever felt like you've been doing something for so long that you can't do anything else? That's the way I feel when it comes to MMA and combat sports. I just NEED to be involved, you know? So yeah, I've helped some fighters in the last years and it's pretty good and stimulating, but I started feeling something like..."ok, I can help these guys, but these are guys - most of them, at least - who already have a certain prominence", you know? I started looking at the whole thing from a different angle, looking for how I could do something different. Well, that being said, we've talked how I got into the sport and how I believe in the sport as a shaping tool, a true life-changing instrument, because it worked to me like that. Diego Palhares: Yeah. Thiago Siqueira: Ok. So, you know, when you look at the underprivileged communities of Rio de Janeiro, the favelas, and all over Brazil, actually, you find talented kids, and I mean really talented kids. But talent without direction and guidance can be lost. Lost to crime, for example, which is a painful thing to watch. To combat this, with the support of some very good friends, I finally managed to get a project off the ground and open Team Siqueira, which is a gym totally focused on MMA and, above all, a team and a family. We've only been active for a short time, but we've been doing a really nice job. It is a social project, first of all, that has really worked on keeping these young people off the streets. And it's been wonderful. You are more than welcome to come visit us any day. Diego Palhares: I certainly will! And, as a social project, do you plan on taking these students to competitions and that sort of thing? Thiago Siqueira: Oh yeah, absolutely. The goal is to be an instrument of change in the lives of these kids. What would be the biggest change than proving that they can be successful in this business? Make them sign with good organizations and even turn them into great champions? And I tell you, it's perfectly doable. As I said, there are very talented kids out there. Diego Palhares: Fantastic. Any names you think we should be hearing about in the future? Thiago Siqueira: Well, I try not to put this kind of pressure on the kids, but you'll find out soon enough.
  11. This is an cut from the famous brazilian podcast, A Hora do MMA. Hosted by MMA fan and enthusiast, Diego Palhares. Cut #1. Diego Palhares: Good morning, everyone! This is Diego Palhares and I’m happy to present you the twentieth edition of our beloved podcast, A Hora do MMA! Today we have a very special guest with us, MMA legend (and now coach and manager) Thiago Siqueira! Good morning, Thiago, it’s really good to have you with us today. Thiago Siqueira: Good morning, Diego, and good morning to everyone listening to this. It’s good to be here, thanks for having me. I’m a huge fan of your work and everything you guys are doing to the MMA community. Diego Palhares: That’s a nice thing to hear from someone like you, Thiago, really. Before we go on, I’d like to thank our sponsors. This podcast is brought to you by Blitz Energy Drinks and FastLink Connections! Don’t forget to check their sites, both listed on all of our social medias, @AHoraDoMMA. Ok, Thiago, you are an MMA legend, but just in case someone out there doesn’t know you, tell a bit more about yourself to our audience. Thiago Siqueira: Well, Diego…I wouldn’t say legend, but yes, I’ve been an MMA fighter for the most part of my life. I mean, now it’s called MMA and it became a huge sport, but it was very different at the beginning. Diego Palhares: Oh yeah. You were there for the beginning of it, here in Brazil, right? Thiago Siqueira: Definitely. No gloves. No rounds. No rules. I mean, almost no rules…fingers in the eyes has always been prohibited. It was always a consensus among everyone, everywhere. But as for the rest, man, it’s safe to say there were virtually no rules. Stomps, groin attacks or any type of kicks in any positions – I’ve seen it all. Hell, I’ve done it all. *Laughs*. But it’s much better nowadays. Safer for the athletes and even more competitive, I’d say. Diego Palhares: Not to mention the money involved, right? Thiago Siqueira: Oh yeah, there’s that. I’m gonna be honest, it took me a lot of time to actually see any money from fights, back in the day. Of course I’ve always lived off martial arts--… Diego Palhares: --You graduated as a BJJ black belt in a very young age, didn’t you? Thiago Siqueira: Well, yeah, quite young. 25 years old, and I was already giving group and private lessons as a brown belt. It was enough to pay the bills. But like I’m saying, myself and everybody else who started around that same period…we didn’t fight for money. When the Vale Tudo started popping in Brazil, there was that primal atmosphere, you know? The main thing was to prove the superiority of one art over another. The Challenge of The Gracies and all that. You know the history, everybody does. But it wasn’t about money. Diego Palhares: I hear that. Do you consider that money was a bad thing to the sport, by any chance? We know that today there are exorbitant amounts of money involved. Thiago Siqueira: No, no, not at all. The money, the professionalization of the sport, it’s all very very positive. I really like how the sport evolved and what it has become. I’m just stating some facts. The sport is and has always been brutal. No questions about it. And we were doing it for medals and legacy. Imagine what we would do for some thousands of dollars. *More laughs*.
  12. Hello guys, this is the topic of my private MMA Gym, Team Siqueira. I'm creating it with the aim of enriching the roleplay and narrative of my manager and my fighters and, of course, having fun, and I plan on posting articles, interviews and that sort of thing related to those involved with this particular gym. Thank you
  13. Hello guys. I am new to this universe and I would like to say that I admire the work you all are doing here. I'm also looking to make some connections and hopefully learn more about everything along the way. If there's any employment for a guy like me here, hit me up so we can talk about it. Cheers!
