  1. People need to stop complaining about tickers, if anything they aren't effective enough. I'm fighting a guy with all elite primaries...
  2. There really isn't any point at getting mad at 1 guy. If you go to the 'Hall of Fame' I see at least 4 guys that didn't fight in any top orgs to make their way there... And in essence that is the problem with the ranking system. You don't have to fight the top managers, top fighters, or in the top orgs to make it to #1. You just have to have the best winning streak. So if you do fight the top managers, etc you are cheated because you are hurt and not rewarded by fighting the best competition. So if we are going to get out pitch forks out, the ugly monster that we need to go after is the hype system.
  3. Heavyweight looking for contract anywhere in the world... http://www.mmatycoon.com/fighterprofilemanager.php?FID=129651
  4. The Phenom hopes that he enjoys all 3 weeks of being the #1 featherweight.
  5. (The camera comes into focus. You see a stage, upon that stage is a table. That table is holding a belt, the belt is shaped like the head of a bear. You recognize it as the MKFC belt. Behind the belt sits the owner, newly crowned 135 pound champion Alex Vargas. His face looks relatively unharmed, but there is a tired look to him. He puts his hands up on the table, and you notice his right hand is in a cast. Suddenly you hear some shuffling, and a reporter gets up to speak.) Female Reporter: Alex, that was a very impressive win you had earlier today. It was a very close fight, and your opponent has made it public that he felt he won the fight. Do you have a response? Vargas: Look here, the Phenom won, he's the champ. People have to realize that you roll the dice whenever you let the judges come out to play. That's why the Phenom throws heat on every punch. It's just that Troyer has a big block head, and can take a punch. He isn't too smart though. If the little man wants a rematch, he can come find the Phenom. But with the amount of time it actually took him to defend the belt, he probably never wanted to fight to begin with. Male Reporter: Alex, it's pretty clear that you are one of the best bantamweights in history, all opinions aside. You're a former Blitz Champion, RHOE Champion, two time MKFC Champion, and many other accomplishments. What's next for you? Vargas: As some of you may know, MKFC won't be around much longer, and the Phenom will need a new home. If the belt needs to be defend again, so be it, but afterwards it's free agent time. That means whoever wants to pay the Phenom the most money will get him. So if you run an organization, start saving those pennies. Male Reporter: Alex, the bantamweight division is small to say the least, with many top organizations closing down their divisions, or not even running one. If you receive a good offer to fight at featherweight, will you take it? Vargas: The Phenom is a bantamweight, every fight he's fought has been at this weight class. He doesn't fight in other weight classes THEN call himself the 'best bantamweight.' So he wants to fight at 135 pounds. That being said, the Phenom is all about that money. If the money is just that much better at featherweight, he could be persuaded to move. Female Reporter: Alex, that last remark about the best bantamweight, was that aimed at Clint Lomax? I know you both consider yourselves the best bantamweights in MMA. Will we ever see that fight? Vargas: Is he a bantamweight this week? or is it a featherweight? lightweight? He's not even a full-time bantamweight, and who has he beat? No one... A washed up Ekaku? Walu Kauzuki? Queen Leonidas? Yawn, yawn, triple yawn. How can a man who hasn't beaten anyone, and has won a 'cage wars fight league title' be the best bantamweight in the world? It's called being overrated. The man is the Tim Tebow of MMA, 20% truth- 80% hype. The Phenom will rip this cast off his hand and fight Lomax tomorrow, so the ball is in his court. He'll probably go fight another walking corpse at Featherweight next month though. So don't hold your breath for that fight. He doesn't want any part of the Phenom, you can't ride a hype train anymore after it's derailed. Female Reporter: What about Jason Rose? He holds a win over you, and he's been very public about getting a fight with the best, and at the moment you are the best bantamweight in the world. Vargas: First of all, The Phenom wasn't himself for that fight. If you notice, he didn't throw one single strike in the whole fight, not one punch or kick. Does that sound like the Phenom? No... but the Phenom isn't worried about Rose. The Phenom doesn't need to fight Rose, Rose needs to fight the Phenom. There's a lot of people out there that are going to want a shot at the Phenom. The only person the Phenom is interested in fighting is Lomax. If that doesn't happen, it's all about that money. If Syn wants to win the bidding, then its a possibility. That's all there is to it. We're done here. (the Phenom gets up, takes his belt, and walks away....)
  6. Is it too early to nominate this for fight of the year? It wasn't a blood bath, but both of these guys are indestructible. This was a good back and forth war with high stakes though.
  7. When your fighter wins a fight, the fighter receives 90% of the money and the manager receives 10% of the income. This often leads to situations where fighters have $300,000 or more in their balance, which is ridiculous because they could never spend that kind of money. Now what you have to do is launder that money so that you can actually use it, because your fighter never could. This is a silly mechanic that has plagued MMATycoon for as long as I can remember. I understand why there is that kind of split in real life. However, in MMATycoon a fighter has no autonomy. He makes no decisions on his own. You cloth him, you buy him supplements, you make his exact game plan. You can even drain all his money off his account through money laundering. I never really even saw the point of the fighter getting the money instead of the manager. However, if we do have to keep that mechanic, there should be an even 50-50 split, given that you do EVERYTHING. I know if you're in a big alliance this doesn't mean anything to you, but to some of us it's a hassle to find a money launderer only to lose 25% of the money you launder (10% for the launderer, 15% for the money transfer). Although that is a bit off topic as the post is not about how easy it is for some to find launderers over others, but how silly that mechanic actually is. Furthermore, 'laundering' isn't even recognized by MMATycoon wiki, despite its importance and widespread use. Therefore, I propose a larger manager split, maybe 50-50, maybe 60-40,whatever... but 10% is way too low. Managers shouldn't be forced to use the 'laundering' system to use the millions of dollars on their fighter. (or less depending on the manager.) P.S. I don't believe the option of laundering should be taken away unless managers can get full control of their fighter's finances.
  8. Normandy was a duchy who swore fealty to the French King. It was hardly a sovereign nation.... Although that was before the Peace of Westphalia... Most of the people who lived there were French... It was basically a French Subsidiary... However, if you are familiar with Westphalia there was no 'Nation' Previously. So for all intents and purposes I would consider it and its people French. Although William the Conqueror was not of French Descent he was born in Normandy, which is what? a feudal underling of the Kingdom of France. Also, most of William the Conqueror's army was French.
  9. Damn, all this French history and everyone is saying Napolean was the most successful French ruler militarily? People need to take some history classes.... read a book or something How about Charlemagne? Charlemagne >>> Napolean Or How about William of Normandy? Who conquered England, which led to England being ruled by kings of French descent for over 400 years... Ok now go back to your pointless argument.
  10. Machida is a great fighter, but 25-0 my ass.... Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Marshall! The Coward is out on his feet! Marshall rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - The Coward is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! The Coward is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
  11. What do you get when you mix Joel Nicola & Leo C. Barros? A winner.... :winner:
  12. He's a graduate of the Leo C. Barros School of Business
  13. Doug Marshall http://www.mmatycoon.com/fighterprofilemanager.php?FID=67644
  14. I'm pretty sure it has to do with logins and not fights. Paul Bradley & Alex Caine dropped 20 ranks and Joel Nicola is still the same exact rank he was.
  15. Can we get a bracket or something? and is the second round still going to be in August?
  16. http://www.mmatycoon.com/fighterprofilemanager.php?FID=31083 - Sergeant Peppers is interested in taking on the winner, he may not be available for a September fight, but sometime down the road.

  18. Take downs into mount do happen in real life, but it's a VERY rare occurrence to see it happen to a skilled fighter. The problem with them in this game is that they occur too frequently to very skilled fighters.
  19. I agree with the post above, this is a good suggestion. However, the game needs more money sinks if your going to eliminate the effectiveness of 1 on 1 training or else money won't have nearly the same value in this game.
  20. As someone with 5 signed free agents on his roster, I would love this idea. I pretty much hate all their names, just stick with them because they are good...
