  1. When I book a flight before a fight, the system displays a message "the flight will arrive X hours before your fight". The problem is, as far as I can tell, it doesn't properly calculate X. For example, yesterday I booked a flight for this guy (or rather two flights and cancelled one because I miscounted energy loss and rest, so bear with me). Initially, I booked the fight on Thursday, 23 GMT, intending to grab two rest sessions on Friday, before the fight in Los Angeles (which, as I understand, happens at 18:10 local time, which is Saturday, 1:10 GMT). The flight takes two hours according to the schedule page, so he should land 24 hours before the fight. The message I've got said "The flight will arrive 10 hours before the fight". This is actually stressing me out from using the flight schedule tool, as I usually end up cancelling and rebooking the flight (losing a bit of my fighters money) until I give up and fly my guy in manually, not sure whether I can't get count time zone changes properly or it's the tool that fails at this.
  2. You can also go old-school and keep them all even. No chance of screwing up.
  3. There are 80 managers whose picks haven't fought yet. I imagine that at least some of them put enough thought into this fantasy game that nailing their picks 100% is quite probable. Moreover, this means that they probably picked fighters who fight on the weekend in big leagues, so they're gonna get a few more bonus points for hype. I think you'd need a lot of luck to keep the #1 spot until the end.
  4. Wahoo McDaniel has a great comeback, getting into top 10 in his weight class after a streak of 6 losses, though it looks like he was managed by the same manager during these two stages of his career.
  5. Jose Aldo vs Kenny Florian Frankie Edgar vs Gray Maynard Chael Sonnen vs Brian Stann Joe Lauzon vs Melvin Guillard Leonard Garcia vs Nam Phan Demian Maia vs Jorge Santiago Anthony Pettis vs Jeremy Stephens Joey Beltran vs Stipe Miocic Zhang Tie Quan vs Darren Elkins Aaron Simpson vs Eric Schafer Steve Cantwell vs Mike Massenzio
  6. or you can just focus on different things in training after fighter creation.
  7. Well, I would like to see this just because it would be cool to see how my guys would do against each other without spoiling my record However, dunno if it would be good for the game (or how many limitations would have to be put on this to be good for the game).
  8. In July I've had guys in 9 different cities. Now 8 guys relocated to one city to train in the same gym and the last two are in different cities.
  9. That's a cool fight, I've added it to the spoiler list and I haven't done that in a few months.
  10. Yes, but that's good. Sparring was incredibly fast before, which was part of the equation that would eventually lead to quadruple Elites. So now, we'd need to wait a bit to see those primary monsters decay to a more manageable level, but since decay was nerfed shortly after it happened, we're gonna wait a long time, probably until their retirement age kicks in. Is that your point? That nerfed sparring and too slow decay makes it impossible to catch up in a reasonable amount of time? If yes, then perhaps you are right.
  11. Well, I, for one, don't have any problems with the new system. All my guys flourish after the changes. I see more pops than I've ever seen, only few depops I've got were dropping from Elite strength with guys who also have great Flexibility and Cardio, I've created a new guy and he's progressing nicely, I even harnessed the aptitudes to do something useful for most of my fighters. Though, there are a few things about them I don't like - for example, getting a free agent who has his aptitudes set badly and no way of knowing that in advance or fixing it ever (unlike every other thing about a fighter - you can judge most hiddens by their fights/overall skill level, fix their skills with training, fix their height/weight ratio with supps, but there's nothing that will warn or let you fix aptitudes). Overall, I think the new system is great, not perfect, but great and I enjoy tycoon more with it.
  12. So, I was wondering whether upsets in strictly striking fights still happen under the new fight engine. Have you seen any solid striking upsets? Post links to fights!
  13. Can't decide, all matchups would be great. Let's say I vote for a random draw.
  14. I would like to weigh in with some opinions on the matter rather contrary to the general direction of the thread, judging by my fights: http://www.mmatycoon.com/fightcommentary.php?FTID=340009 my Wonderful wrestling opponent didn't have much problem taking down my Superb wrestler (and Tazar doesn't have crap physicals or TDD). Also, counter-accuracy on a guy mixing only punches and takedowns, with no MT, was enough to completely own my guy who was trying to counter-damage him with punches, kicks and failed clinch attempts. http://www.mmatycoon.com/fightcommentary.php?FTID=345796 my Exceptional wrestler vs Strong opponent, landed 2 out of 4 TD attempts, a respectable percentage http://www.mmatycoon.com/fightcommentary.php?FTID=349122 two Wonderful wrestlers, one hit 1 out of 6 TDs (only attempt in the clinch was the successful one), the second 1 out of 8 (one unsuccessful attempt in the clinch) http://www.mmatycoon.com/fightcommentary.php?FTID=340013 my Strong wrestler vs a Remarkable one, and I've got 1/2 TDs both standing and in the clinch, while my opponent hit 1/2 standing and missed a clinch TD All in all, this doesn't seem like takedowns are underpowered after the change, at least not in fights with similarly skilled opponents. Though, of course, that might depend on what my opponents have under the hood. Well, I just wanted to provide some examples, maybe Mike can check them and compare with those horror stories about not hitting a takedown ever to pinpoint the issue, if there is one.
  15. I've seen the event happen too, watched the pbp half an hour after the event ran and there was no problem. Also, all the effects of having a fight at the event still apply - my manager hype increased and is still the same as just after the event, my fighter's hype, money and energy levels changed appropriately and they're still the same, only his record and fight list don't reflect the fact he fought yesterday.
  16. Chico "Merfolk" Corrales ( 5193 ) is a sparbot looking to earn his gym fees. Therefore he would like to sign with a local (Las Vegas or Los Angeles) org, in the 170 division (though in few months time he'll move up to 185), without having to fight any quadruple Sensationals or the like and getting all/most his money via base fight money. Bestigor "Beastmaster" Tazar, the Unremarkable Champion (though he became remarkable since that time) is also looking for a contract and while's he's pondering over those already on the table, more options wouldn't hurt. Looking for a short contract, in the 205 division, Hilo/LA/LV/Montreal/NY and fair fights (at least one, as he's a bit confused how he should handle the recent figthing game change and therefore could provide no decent opposition to vastly more skilled fighters at his rank).
  17. So, if they really been into just about anything they can get, if they couldn't get weed, it would still be true. That's just their personality, not weed mindcontrolling them into taking other stuff. Well, that doesn't make them any less right, even if they have a stake in the issue. However, they are not the only ones who believe that - for example, I have absolutely no stake in the issue (except, perhaps, the betterment of mankind), because I don't do and never did drugs other than caffeine and alcohol. And even those two I use in very little amounts, drinking three cups of tea a day and 2 beers on Fridays. Still, that doesn't stop me from seeing the great evil that stems from prohibition of a beneficial herb. Well, they wouldn't if it was legal. They'd be pushed out of the market by homegrown and legal stuff. Win-win.
  18. I have two comments on this issue: first, English terminology for this kinda sucks, because the most commonly used word for all of this is "drug", carrying all kinds of connotations. I much prefer to talk about this in my native language, where there is a separate word for "healing drugs", the ones you get in pharmacies to treat various medical conditions, and one for illegal/"evil" drugs and no-one mixes up the two. That would make the debate easier and help people get where someone stands on the issue. Now, why is it (still)1 illegal? Well, this issue exposes the darkest sides of modern democracy and capitalism2 and boils down to the lawmakers benefiting from it (or changing the status quo being costly for them). The public opinion is largely uneducated about the issue and thinks that marijuana is evil, therefore calling for its legalisation is very likely to cost you some votes - and who would risk their comfy senate chair? Not only that, without a doubt some politicans are lining their pockets by keeping marijuana illegal. Drug cartels in Mexico make most of their money by seling pot, not the hard drugs. Imagine how their business would falter if suddenly everyone could produce their own cannabis in their garden, like tomatoes. The price would fall like a man thrown off a cliff and their market share would shrink dramatically (who would you rather buy it from - your local farmer or the shady guy who imports stuff cut with crack from Mexico). So what do you do if you're a super-rich drug lord benefiting from the status quo of another country's law? You bribe the politicians and/or the media to keep everything as it is. 1 Can't comment on why it was made illegal in the first place, I'm no historian. 2 Before anyone thinks "that's a dirty, lefty commie pinko speaking. Can't be right", I'm not. I am a supporter of... less traditional government systems.
  19. Finally! I hope this will make my knockout artist get some knockouts again. Though, I gonna get a rough weekend if I don't guess what should I set the new sliders to, 4 fights, 3 of which are at the same time - won't have time to adjust if I set it wrong, lol.
  20. Clicked both a few times (and logged in both, hope it doesn't skew the result) and the version without www bugged out, partially loading and then transferring data from mmatycoon.com without any progress.
  21. 1. Friday. 2. Poland. 3. It seems to go through phases. About 1 in 4 pages doesn't load then fully and needs to be stopped and reloaded. However, sometimes everything works just fine, e.g. right now. 4. No. 5. PC, winxp, firefox.
