  1. Well, aren't judges supposed to score based on controlling the cage? If we are watching this fight live, I'm not sure 4 punches a round would offset 4 stuffed takedowns and a slew of controlling in the clinch time. Clinch is part of the game, and if I feel I am stronger than you and can keep you locked up in the clinch, why shouldn't that count for me?
  2. I think the game seems weighted towards KO Power because that is what most guys want to do. Knock someone the fuck out, this is a game, and the bulk of guys I feel want to do that. Not to mention, it is very easy to make a boxer that can KO someone, train boxing and punches and your in the game. In order for someone to make a good submission guy, it takes time and the right combination of skills to take advantage of it. It is just flat out easier to try to knock someone out in this game.
  3. Please don't take what I said to be condescending, I know I used the word dumb, but I meant that in general, not to you in specific. My understanding of the tickers was to allow for more specialized fighters. I think making tougher or impossible to have quad elite or quad sensational was the driving force behind it, but not the ONLY thing they were intended to stop. I just think you are looking at this wrong by thinking you are "completely screwing myself somewhere else" by focusing on one skill. If you just think of it in terms of losing 5 points of a skill (not even a de-pop if you started +), in order to focus on the skill you want to train, and potentially pop a few times before a fight, you come out ahead for that fight. So, yeah, you lost 5 points of that other skill, you can regain it when you start training it again for the next fight, everybody is going through the same balancing act with their fighters. If all your secondary skills are threatening to turn red, then your fighters are going through what Mike intended, they are within the group of fighters sort of "readjusting" to the new game, because their skills were too high. You are a better, more advanced manager than me, but I only say this because I have several fighters who are exceptional or even sensational in some skills that require very little maintenance to reset tickers (especially in areas where their "specialties are".). Maybe you have fighters that are exceptional/sensational/elite in several secondaries, and now the game is designed to kind of pull that back a bit.
  4. I think what you are looking to do is one of the reasons this ticker system was implemented in the first place. It is unrealistic for a fighter to train only 1 aspect of his game up to a fight. When Brock Lesnar trains to fight a boxer, and wants to concentrate on boxing, do you think he goes the entire time leading up to the fight without working on any wrestling skills at all? Do you think he goes that whole time without lifting weights or running/CT? We are not talking about 'forgetting' how to do something, we are talking about how effectively he does it. Skills diminish at everything we do if you don't keep your skills sharp. That goes for MMA, football, driving a truck, using heavy equipment, everything. When I was younger an in college, I was a great chess player, I haven't played a game of chess in 10 years at least, I haven't forgotten how to play, but my skills have definitely declined. This is an MMA simulation game, that is what Mike wants to make this site to be, so these changes are good for what his end vision is. It is dumb to think a guy can hit something for a couple months and be elite at it for the rest of his life without ever training it again. Yeah, if you want to focus on clinchwork for 3 weeks leading up to your fight because you think you can take advantage of something, go ahead, you are allowed to. Just be ok with seeing that GnP ticker turn red, so you lose a couple points off your GnP to gain big points in clinch, if you don't need GnP in the fight, your ahead, your tickers will reset, and you can regain what you lost in GnP in a handful of sessions. Seems like a pretty fair tradeoff to me.
  5. Not everyone! I have a Superfight for him on Christmas if he isn't too chicken.
  6. maybe he had VIP when he released the fighter, but since it has runout.
  7. I am the 3rd member of "The Black Hand" to post here. Most of us have played other online games together before, some of us for years. We work together to achieve the best training possible for all our fighters, and every member has a role. Still gives us the freedom to play our game the way we want, and run our business the same way, but we stick together and help each other out. We have added a couple members over time, who see the end goal the same as we do. The one individual person who brought me to this game ended up being the biggest reason our former alliance splintered, for what it is worth.
  8. I can admit I am a Patriots fan, but why hate on anyone? I'm a pure football fan, being jealous of a teams' or players' success does you no good, so why not make yourself someone who can sit back and at least claim your looking at things unbiased? Sure, I have my favorite teams and players, matter of fact, if the Pats aren't winning, Green Bay is my 2nd team. Obviously, any debate over who the best of anything is will only be full of opinion, and generally people will pick their guy, as you and I obviously do. Anytime anyone discusses things like this, people always think, for example, just because I think Brady is better, that means I think Rodgers sucks. Which obviously is not true, right now, with Manning out, I do think it is a 2 man race for best in the league at QB (I like Brees, but honestly never saw him on the same level as Brady or Manning). Rodgers has just arrived at this level, I am a person who feels winning a Superbowl sort of 'validates' a QB, that doesn't mean Trent Dilfer was a better QB than Dan Marino, but the fact Marino couldn't win the big one counts against him in my eyes. As far as Rodgers, he definitely is a lot more mobile than Brady, but I would use that fact as evidence he does not read defenses as well and NEEDS to scramble to buy time. They pretty much get sacked at the same rate, and I have always liked Clifton, I feel like Rodgers has had better protection from his blind side. Without looking at stats, I'm unsure how many picks Rodgers or Brady have thrown this year, I think Brady has 8 or 9, kind of high for him, but all but 1 or 2 of them so far this year have been tipped/dropped by his own receivers before being picked, and the one I can remember off hand wasn't tipped, Ochocinco basically watched as the pass flew by his forehead and into the CB's arms. If we are picking a team to win a Superbowl this year, I'm taking Brady...if I am picking a team for the next 10 years, I'm taking Rodgers. Course, with both of them I may be biased cause they come from my 2 favorite teams. Don't really see whoelse anyone would pick, probably some people out there who thinks Vick can win, even though its been proven more than once he can't because the NFL is not fantasy football. Maybe some would pick Newton long term over Rodgers, but that'd be a big chance. Roethlisberger is a good, solid QB who can win, but I'd doubt many outside of Pittsburgh would take him before Brady or Rodgers. As for AP, while I do agree he is the best RUNNING back in the league, he would not be for every team. He is among the worst pass blockers I've ever seen as a RB (granted, I don't watch many Vikings games, but the ones I have, it sticks out). He is not a very good receiver out of the backfield either, which basically makes him a 2 down back. What he can do during those 2 downs can win a game, but you have to be honest and admit, he is not a well rounded back. Just cause I like to cause a stir and see others opinions, here are my own top 3 at each position "right now" QB- Brady, Rodgers, Brees RB- AP, McFadden, Forte WR- Calvin Johnson, Fitzgerald, Mike Wallace (Wallace, Welker and Jennings are about even to me) TE- Rob Gronkowski, Finley, Witten OT- Joe Thomas, Jake Long, Jason Peters OG- Logan Mankins, Chris Snee, Kris Diehlman C- Nick Mangold, Andre Gurode, DT- Suh, Wilfork, Seymour DE- Jared Allen, Pierre-Paul, Ngata ILB- Patrick Willis, Scott, Ray Lewis OLB- Ware, Clay Matthews, Suggs CB- Revis, Asomugha, Haden S- Polamalu, Ed Reed, Wilson
  9. I'd still take Brady before Rodgers if we were picking teams for one or two seasons. I think Rodgers is still just a tick below, and his biggest strong point next to Brady is obviously his age. If your building a franchise all over, I'd say that is the only reason your taking Rodgers before Brady is he is a lot younger...but that doesn't make him better. I also think likewise, you'd find some people in the same scenario who would take one of the even younger QBs than Rodgers. As with AP, there is no question he is the best RB in the league today, but at this point in his career, you have to consider, he has a lot of miles on him and runs violently. Thats great for fans of his, exciting to watch, but its going to shorten his career. Remember, this is all still opinions, and mine is just as valid as anyone elses'...I don't think Sweetness was the best RB, he was certainly top 2, but I just don't feel like he ever passed Jim Brown, and I think he was passed by Barry Sanders.
  10. Bad anology, and bad spelling. Kick the faggit the fuck out.
  11. Working IC is the best. I quit Walmart cause I made the mistake of becoming a supervisor. 3 months after I did, they tried to force me to move to fucking colorado to open a new DC there. When I said I didn't want to, they basically said either go to Colorado, or go look for another job. I went to look for another job, and worked at a DC for a local plumbing and heating company in their IC department. There was even less security at this place, and they even operated under the assumption that between the DC and the stores, a certain % was going to be stolen, LOL. They were happier with that then with putting in security measures. Air condititioners, thermostats, shower heads, faucets, some other parts and things, again, if I could fit it in my pocket, under my coat or in my lunch box, it was mine. I'm not talking $10 shit either, they carried some top of the line stuff. Im too ol dnow tosteal, I know its wrong and I haven't done it in years, but shit did I used to supplement my income.
  12. I think the biggest problem with public gyms is the fact non VIPs don't see the class sizes. Not that they automatically know to keep sizes down anyways, but gym owners can try to help that. When I have had fighters in a public gym in the past, its frustrating to see some classes with 15 people in it and others with 2, the non VIPs just blindly put their fighters in.
  13. would be tough for Mike to implement this and have the effect your looking for. Only ones who should be able to rate a manager is org owners, and only those org owners who has a fighter from said manager in his org. Once that manager sacks the fighter in your org...he no longer has a fighter IN your org, right?
  14. +1 As far as cornermen go, would like to hear a more solid proposal. Seems cool, but needs to be balanced so that whoever has Jigoro Kane or whoever can't turn an otherwise stiff into a superstar just because a HOFer is in the corner.
  15. I set my training once a week. Some guys don't even need to change classes week to week unless I am ready to train something new. I was one of the guys complaining at first, because it was something new and took some time for me to figure it out. I really think you guys are making way too much of it, if you take the time one time to go through your fighters and set it up, it is easy and not very time consuming after that. If you have a fighter who is well rounded and too high at all 4 primaries, then yeah, it is going to be tough for you to maintain that, but thats pretty f-ing realistic. Having to work your physicals a couple times a week is pretty realistic as well. The old system was so broken it was a joke. You could train conditioning and strength up to sensational in a little more than a month, then never touch a weight again for 10 years and your dude would stay sensational strength...yeah thats realistic.

    Tickers

Each individual skill gets its own ticker once your train the guy high enough to trip it. Being a sensational will trip most tickers.
  17. Blixxx isn't answering and he has been active on the boards in the last 24 hours. Kind of seems like he is avoiding this topic, so it is likely him. I guess the one I saw was the 2nd episode. I saw the first one last night at like 3am. I like how Knobs tossed Blixx out of the ring like he was a loaf of bread LMAO!!! Blixxx you got to come clean, is this really you?
  18. I struggled for a couple weeks with the changes, basically because there was a lot going on in my life and I couldn't be bothered to pay much attention to changing my training habits. I think my fighters had 3 de-pops in that 2 week span. Then I took care to straighten everyone away, and honestly, most of my guys still pop just as much as they used to. Tickers don't even have much effect at all until a physical/primary/secondary is Wonderful or higher based on aptitude. I have guys who are sensational in some things that still don't need to reset the ticker for the particular skill. Seems like there is a good balance right now. No one in real life is sensational or elite at all 4 primaries, and I highly doubt many guys who ARE elite at something ever go a long period of time without training something to do with that skill.
  19. I used to work at a Walmart distribution center. They were pricks to work for, though my direct boss was pretty cool. I worked in the inventory control department, and figured out very quickly how to steal pretty much whatever I wanted from the place. There was very little security, and the few working cameras there were, we all knew about in my department. Everyone in my department stole stuff, cause we had the authority to change inventory levels in the system to make it look like damages or lost freight. If I could fit it in my pocket, under my coat or in my lunch box, it was mine.
  20. I just saw that midget wrestling show last night on TV. Blixx is a whiny bitch.
  21. The nature of this game breeds some smack talk, and we all are expected to have some thick skin whenit comes to getting a message from someone that says "I'm going to kick your ass" or "your fighter sucks" or "my guy is going to kill yours in the fight next week". Female players of this game should not be expected to have thick skin and just brush aside any and all unwanted sexual messages. I know the girl in question here in game, and I know this probably isn't too much of a big deal to her. Mike Tycoon can not afford to take the same stance at this as most of you guys are, there is money involved and it says right in his ToS that sexual content in anything is not allowed and is subject to disciplinary action. If "show tits" is acceptable, where exactly is the line supposed to be drawn? How in depth and detailed does a message need to be before it crosses the line? If it is not a big deal to just ask a girl to show her tits, I wonder how you would like it if I saw you and your girl in the mall and I just asked out of the blue for her to show her tits to me. I'm not trying to be a white knight, what ever that even means, but there needs to be some common sense here. And Driven is correct, this girls' boyfriend DOES play this game. Again, this goes beyond this one instance, Mike needs to exhibit that this can't be accepted.
  22. The difference is any female is paying to play the game like everyone else, and in doing so, she should expect some level of protection from "us guys" who may feel appropriate to randomly say things like that. The whole mardi gras and concert thing is completely different, those girls go to those things knowing full well they are going to hear guys asking to see the titties. I will tell you, if you ask the wrong girl at a concert to show her tits, your getting arrested pal, I've seen it happen. This is an MMA simulation game and no female should need to get random messages from a pig that asks to see her tits. If it was something she really didn't care about, do you think she would have posted it in here for everyone to see what kind of a lowlife the message sender is? I like to see a nice rack as much as any of you guys, but there are limits.
  23. Are you being serious? If you really think sending a female a message in this game that says show tits anywhere on it is acceptable, you should be dealt with by Mike too. This is not a pick up site, go to myspace if you think that should be accepted.
  24. This kind of sexual harassment is completely uncalled for in this game. She pays her money just like everyone else to gain enjoyment from playing the game. She is not on here to get hit on, it doesn't matter how old anyone is. Talking shit to each other is one thing, making a statement like Justin Courtney did is completely overboard. Per his Terms of Service, I for one would like to see Mike Tycoon take some appropriate action here, this can not go unpunished.
  25. If you cap a private gym at around 30 members, and the gym is well rounded and has 12 elite/double elite coaches in it, the gym will lose about $25k per week. There really is no way for you to make a "world class" private gym and expect to actually make a profit on it, unless you use the "rent-a-coach" model.
