Gimp is really as full featured as you are going to get in the free realm. If you having problems ... I can't stress enough to search Youtube and Google for tutorials. Even though they won't be doing "posters" per say in their tutorials, you will pick up tricks here and there that will help you, like holding shift down when drawing with the pencil/paint brush tool to get a straight line (photoshop) ... or learning what the different layer fx are and what they do. Also, just sit there and do stupid shit that you never show anybody. You should see some of the things I did 10 years ago when I first started using photoshop. I would fiddle with this and fiddle with that and just come up with something I thought was cool, that to this day I have no idea how to reproduce. I have several things like that which i would love to remake for a larger desktop image now and just can't. Fiddled with some filters. Some more difference clouds. A pattern overlay for the scan lines. But I have been trying for 6 years to recreate it and can not get anything close to it. It's a continual learning process man, just keep plugging away at it.

Well .. I disagree, gimp was a pain in my ass when I gave it a shot. Photoshop for some reason came much more natural for me.

Thanks guys. Success would be good. I just want to have fun with it. When it stops being fun, I will let somebody else have it. I have set hard rules for myself in regards to how I will interact with managers so that I don't get caught up in trivial BS that seems to happen to every org.

Alright guys .. just cleared out the store, 25th 500 sales week. And also my final week as owner of Prime Designs. The shop will be sold soon, I believe on the 21st. It has been a great run to all the regulars who contributed to my success with the company .. and also to everyone else who has helped along the way.
