  1. I have a boxer named after "clubber" lang from rocky 3. so did someone else in the same org. my other guy at that weight class beat him. i think the loser should be retired.
  2. look how many times Nockchev was able to sweep and advance to a dominant position. The judges got it right. Read the full pbp.
  3. Go back to naming your fighters after real fighters. oh wait... nevermind.
  4. You obviously can't read. It shows you the name before you pick them up.
  5. Oh my gosh! Alco Holic! What a totally funny name! Have you thought about making one that incorporates Dick or Nuts?
  6. ::Carl Panzram stands with the post-fight interviewer as the fans cheer loudly:: Interviewer: I'm here with a very happy Carl Panzram. Carl, you said before the fight that you had a lot of tools you could use to win this fight. Was this part of the gameplan? Carl: Absolutely. I kept telling everyone that I knew he could punch hard and that he was tough to take down. But I have a lot of tricks up my sleeve. I thought I could negate some of his punching power by pulling him into the clinch, softening him up, and pulling guard. Obviously it worked because he started tapping faster than Mr. Bojangles. Interviewer: It seemed like he had a similar idea to surprise you. Were you surprised when he tried to pull guard? Carl: Haha yeah. To be honest, I first thought somehow his team had heard my gameplan backstage or something. But, I knew he had no jiu jitsu skills, so I wanted to play the game my way. I hurt him in the clinch and then brought him to the floor. Game over. You lose! Interviewer: I get the feeling this isn't the last of the feud! Carl Panzram, ladies and gentlemen!
  7. http://www.mmatycoon.com/fighterprofilemanager.php?FID=15262 started 0-2 and is now top ten shw in ny
  8. you need more comic books in your life
  9. Buzz Sawyer: That? That right there is why I try to remain respectful no matter the circumstances. That fight was so quick and took so little energy that I doubt I'll sleep on the flight back to NY. Meanwhile, Wallace looks like a jackass. 53 seconds? It takes longer to pop popcorn. This, ladies and gentlemen, is why you must respect the belt. Me, Buzz Sawyer, the former AFM super heavyweight champ, and current Combat Pro West super heavyweight champ. Now, get lost, Wallace, and take your boy band with you.
  10. Interviewer: Welcome to Inside Ground Zero! Today we're taking an inside look at the gym that has spawned two Ground Zero champs: the 36th Chamber! I'm here with one of those men, Russell Jones, and two of his training partners, Carl Panzram and Adon Sagat. First, I gotta ask Carl, what's going on with this James Lang feud? Is this just for the cameras or do you have real animosity for the guy? Carl Panzram: At first, I heard his manager talking about how he would finish me in one minute. I thought it was proper to respond and explain why I thought I had the best chance to win. Next thing I know, James is uhh haha... sorry, it's just weird because the Ground Zero 170 champ named James Lang is a close friend of mine and trains here too. Anyway, next thing I know, this dude is losing his mind in front of a microphone. He's just yelling and going on nonsensically, rambling it all into one messed up sentence. I have no idea what he's trying to say. All I know is that if his game plan is as dumb as his mouth, he's gonna get put out quick with some vicious knees. Interviewer: Well, good luck. I'm sure the fans will be treated to an explosive stand up fight. Next, I have a question for Adon. Adon, my man, it's been a while since we've seen you in action. What's going on? Adon Sagat: I've just been having trouble finding opponents. First Brock Brutality refused to fight me, but he ended up fighting someone else and still lost. What a bum! I got offered a fight with Two Hands. If he has the balls to step up, I'll be seeing him in two weeks on GZ21: Gun Powder Treason. I doubt he'll accept. He's strictly a wrestler and doesn't want any of my stand up game and he won't be able to handle my submission game either. So, we'll see I guess. Until then, I'll just keep training hard and getting ready for whoever eventually steps up to the plate. Interviewer: All right. I hope we get the chance to see you fighting in a Ground Zero event soon. So now, my final question is for the recent big winner, Russell Jones. First of all, congratulations on your victory and being named the first Ground Zero lightweight champion. That's gotta feel great. So I'm wondering, what's next for you? Who do you wanna fight? Russell Jones: Thank you. I appreciate that. As far as my plans, well, it's not really my plans. I've always felt that the champion should fight whoever is next in line or put in front of him. It's only right. I spoke with Aaron and I knew they were looking for a main event for GZ21. I said "I got the strap, but I don't wanna sit on it. I didn't get hurt or worn out from that fight, so let's let the next in line take a shot." He agreed and we're putting the offer out there. I don't wanna put him on blast, but here're some clues: he fought on the same card as my title fight and he fought someone I already beat. I'm sure you can figure it out. So I hope he wants the fight. I think it will be good for Ground Zero and good for the fans. Interviewer: Ah I think I know who you're talking about and if so, that should be a great fight. Good luck, guys! Thanks for tuning into Inside Ground Zero!
  11. I pull up the commentary page beforehand and then refresh it about 15 minutes after the event happens.
  12. Ouch. That is some serious energy loss. I hope I can get my energy back up in time for fights. Shit.
  13. I thought I would hate this, but I kinda like it. Gotta put my brain to work to try to find a new way to optimize... just hope this doesn't happen often
  14. Did anyone get any saying they would quit what they were doing? If so, how many sessions? I am in the midst of altering my sparring gym. Looking for info.
  15. I wasn't trying to correct you. I was just in chat and saw this topic so I thought I'd inform. One of the messages is something like "I can't do anymore Muay Thai. I took a kick to the ribs and it made me puke so everybody's been messing with me." Or something like that. I can't remember exactly and it's already scrolled off the screen.
  16. mike just said in chat that the first round of them will be going out soon.
  17. I'd prefer the old time just to save the confusion of training and fighting in NY. The overlapping time thing is strange. I can handle it either way though.
  18. Yes, we did. Stop by chat sometime Overall, I'm not worried about the changes. I think people should wait to see how it works out before flipping out. But I think the vagueness of your replies is what is driving them mad. Will our fighter quit a particular type of training after 3 sessions a week? 6? Does the fighter think of all types of sparring as one group and will get tired of doing any sparring after a set number? It's frustrating for those of us that spend lots of time trying to perfect our training and supplementation regimen. But like you said, nobody is going to be totally screwed if their training isn't optimized for a day or two or even a week. We'll just have to wait and see how everything plays out.
  19. Carl Panzram: It's not everyday that you get to fight someone with the exact same name as your training partner. I have to admit I was confused when I first got the fight offer. But I've taken a look at the tape on my opponent. He's got good hands and takedown defense, but that's it. He's got a lot of holes in his game. At 36th Chamber we try to be complete mixed martial artists. I think Lang is gonna be thoroughly confused by all the techniques I have at my disposal.
  20. I was really close to cutting Cain Marko: http://www.mmatycoon.com/fighterprofilemanager.php?FID=15262 Glad I didn't.
  21. Or you could just finish him within the 3 round limit.
