  1. If spamming subs lowered the defense or increased stun/damage taken against GnP or strikes from the bottom maybe it'd both help against spamming and make GnP a bit more useful as a tool overall? I mean, you see sub spamming in BJJ contests (EBI, Metamoris, etc) but super rarely in MMA, maybe the idea of being hit while trying some of this slick shit is the reason it's less likely in MMA?
  2. Coaches should be able to spar... they'd not be able to run a class during that time but would add their stars to the sparring mix. They'd either be able to gain skill points from sparring sessions, or not, but I think for 5k a frikkin week we should be able to spar them if we care to.
  3. Jake Fauteux$20,000.002012-11-01 22:09:51$700.00 Mike Dixon$30,000.002012-11-01 22:09:21$2,100.00 The Trashman$50,000.002012-11-01 22:08:42$3,500.00 Congrats guys!
  4. Side notes: Ernest Hemmingway was a very good boxer in his day and Abe Lincoln was an NWA wrestling champion... look it up!
  5. Thanks for entering, all, when Verbal sends the winner list I'll send the prize money out! Have a happy Samhain and Be Blessed!
  6. Guys, the hurricane knocked out my power so I can't even charge my phone! Today is the cutoff for entries... Verbal will judge but Ill send out prizes as soon as I can get online again, shouldn't be long now I hope, but letting you all know just in case!
  7. Deadline is one week from today!
  8. Holy moses, it's hard to give away money around here... but loving the answers so far, some are just as awful as the questions which is bonus points if I were a judge!
  9. I got an IQ test result of 128 for a fighter but didn't pick adapt, but learning speed for hidden... He is by far my fastest training fighter though, so I think I got lucky with the hidden random roll to add my 30 to learning. Possibly IQ test result could go up to 150 and it's the exact number of your learning hidden?
  10. After an initial training session w/ 1 starting skill for an intelligence test, a lot of training speed has to do with aptitudes, too, so maybe tough to tell... Fly the guy back and forth to the closest city over and over in a private jet and hope for an IQ test result!
  11. I agree with Warwynd, research is important! A huge help can be to talk to the org owner / matchmaker before signing, to explain your situation (being new) and what plans they might have for you... just talking to them shows that you aren't a fly-by-night never sign back in after signing a contract type... They'll appreciate the enthusiasm and most people love the fact that they might help a new manager become a complete addict. Keep going, even if you get a bad contract or two, and when accepting or declining a fight or contract, there is a message box to add to the reply, and everyone appreciates those, to know better about how THEY are doing!
  12. Bump, for the good of all newbs?
  13. So, I think I worded #7 wrong, I meant to say, which primary would have wonderful, which would have respectable, etc... If you want to go back and change that answer, feel free. Or keep it as is, I'm not judging regardless.
  14. **Was an edit of the first post, but fixed everything.**
  15. Welcome to the 'Dean Keaton Has Too Much Spare Money' New Manager Contest! Rules: Winners must be >69,999 (Otherwise known as 70k or higher) Manager ID, but anyone can answer the questions, if they've the urge. Answer the questions… since they aren't set answers and more opinion, the answers will have to just be judged by someone… I'll not judge this time, so I'll find a ringer to do that part. Include your Manager Name and Manager ID # in the beginning or end of your text… It's important because if you don't, you'll forfeit prizes… If anyone wants to throw something into this contest (prize-wise), feel free. PRIZES!!! 100k will be the prize money I put in, 50k / 30k / 20k respectively for the top three winners. Roger Kint also will donate 5k to each valid entry, as well as be a judge. Answers must be in by Thurday, October 30th, prizes will be awarded on Samhain. Questions: 1. Don't you hate it when people ask rhetorical questions? 2. Who is the best Org owner or Matchmaker you've ever worked for? (also, Why?) 3. Who is your favorite character from 'The Usual Suspects'? (If you haven't seen it, answer for 'The Princess Bride') [if you haven't seen either, homework is to watch one of them… they are both the best movie ever, somehow.] 4. 420? 5. Scenario… A super-massive computer took 10 million years to answer the ultimate question of life, the universe and everything… The answer it comes up with is, "42." So you say, "I don't understand… What IS the ultimate question of life the universe and everything?' The computer tells you to give it 10,000,000 years to figure it out… Question: What do you think it would answer? 6. Would you rather wrestle Abraham Lincoln or box Ernest Hemingway, if they both were in their prime? 7. If you were a fighter in real life, and your starting rank of your primaries were Wonderful / Respectable / Proficient / Mediocre, which rank would you put on each of the Primaries? **Edited for bad wording** 8. If an alien came to earth and told us we were idiots and that 2 + 2 isn't 4, but 5, would you a. be blown away and wrack your brain for understanding, b. be blown away and ask him to teach you, c. be blown away and kick him in the nads, take him hostage in your basement, and either c1. Torture the truth out of him or c2. Rape him, or finally d. Try to rip his mask off, because it's probably some asshole on mushrooms in a really convincing halloween costume? 9. Are you offended by that rape option? 10. Did you have fun answering these questions? Why? Good enough for me, go to it. BONUS QUESTION: Which fighter name is funnier, 'Heeza' Bricks Hithouse or 'Muddafuggin' Piya Empi?
  16. I'll gladly vouch for Ganja, dealt with him multiple times and he was always johnny-on-the-spot w/ business... plus he's a cool cat in general.
  17. I'd marry this game if it weren't illegal in my state.
  18. Glad there might be the option for Jets in the future... the other idea was just thought of because of all the other areas of customization that there are, I'm surprised there was no option for coach names. I wouldn't mind paying up a VIP say just to put fun names in my gym... doesn't seem like it would be an enormous undertaking, coding-wise, and for people who wanted the option, it'd only be another way to get money to Tycoon... can't go wrong w/ that, as it's not a mandatory thing... No use, just fun.
  19. 1. Make it so you can Move w/ Private Jets, not just visit, but must buy a certain amount of seats, 8 or something, so the smallest jets couldn't handle it, but larger ones could just charge a ship-ton and save someone the painful 30% morale and 100% energy drain craziness, or the $55,000 1st class ticket... Jets wouldn't need to offer the service it if they didn't want, but who wouldn't want to? I'm just jaded because I've moved from Sydney to Montreal w/ two guys in the last week... 2. Make me spend VIP day(s) so I can change my gym coaches names... I want Blocky McFacerton for Strike D, Punchy McFacerton for Punching, Kicky McFacerton (kicks) etc... you see where I'm going... there will be 97 gyms with Rickson Gracie teaching Subs, but... who cares? More VIP days spent means more money to the game, and it's not like you'd be forced to use your days like this... So... Yeah... click (+) on this or... read it again and then click (+) because you must have missed something the first time.
  20. I don't decline fights that are unfavorable... I take them all the time... I just try to refrain from accepting fights that are near unwinnable, just for the satisfaction of not turning it down...
  21. I think that's what I just said, or was that an 'I agree'?
  22. People fighting w/ large rank differences, on the high side, or low side would get penalized... people who average low rank difference would get bonuses. It's not about being scared to lose, it's about not wanting to waste my time with bullshit fights, up or down. Some people get off on saying I'm 90 - 1, but fought 90 cans... Some people get off on being 47 - 44 having fought 91 fair fights. Taking the game seriously is up to you, I'd rather you have fun and not be serious than be serious and not have fun... I'm both serious and having fun. I just have much more fun in 50/50 fights than anything else, I guess. Or even 40/60... I like poker... 5% is like roulette...
