  1. I don't know, but I heard Gary Lineker will host MOTD with his cock out if they do!
  2. +1 me and get that thread started then guys
  3. I'm all for primes being the consequence of secondary skills and I'd vote for that as described above. You could still spar and get improvement in associated seconds and physicals. More realistic (no elite wrestlers with no takedowns). Sounds good. But now, A CAN OF WORMS!... If that WERE to happen, then wouldn't that be the perfect opportunity to introduce other martial arts into the game? Each with a unique character in terms of secondaries. Kung Fu, Karate, Judo and Sambo perhaps? If the change to "passive" primes goes ahead, then it shouldn't be too dificult to do this? Maybe? A big bold expansion in the game's range. Sure would be a shot of adrenaline into Tycoon There's your variety. I'd probaly go Karate and JJ. What about you?
  4. Not sure about that. If you can't have all elite, there will be weaknesses. A cookie build might emerge but that build will have an archilles heel that people will soon spot. Weaknesses will be uncovered as alternative ideas emerge. For example, a sprawl and brawler might become the "obvious" choice with emphasis on speed/agility/balance but that means probably no flex (sub victim), and only average strength (clinch victim vs elite strength). If you try to cover everything, you become a Bisping. That might not sound much but that is enough to make physicals relevant, and turn Tycoon into (at least) a "choice of three builds" game. I know someone will say that is just making it "stone, paper, scissors", but IMO that's better than the "Stone, stone, stone" we are playing now. Someone said it will be worse for grapplers and I'm not sure about that either because strikers do get taken down. At the moment they typically spend about a minute on the ground, defending and spoiling, before they escape or get a stand-up. I think a minute might prove to be a long time with zero flex against a subber, or against a wrestler GnP guy who has elite balance and strength. At the very least, no one can still say, "all sens/elite physicals, job done". Capped physicals will force us to think about it, and that's more fun IMO.
  5. It will be great if the game sort of self-adjusts and exceptional or sensational becomes the "new elite" for cardio. I mean, I hope that elite becomes overkill unless you have a good reason. So, if you have two heavyweights slugging it out in a standing brawl, the elite cardio fighter should get hit harder and more often by the opponent with exceptional cardio who has greater speed/agility/strength. Two strategies wth pros and cons. Then it's down to secondaries/hiddens/randoms/sliders to decide the result. The skill being to match the physicals, secondaries and hiddens into a bulid and strategy that works and then getting the sliders right. Actually, it's making my brain hurt to try to imagine what it will be like if physicals actually matter I'm pretty sure that I won't be buliding with elite cardio though. Exceptional+ (135 to 140) sounds about right for my builds with all the other physicals to consider.
  6. Making high kicks easier to compensate for the cost of flexibility under new rules?? Madness. The aim is to make physicals relevant and varied. Want a high kicker? Then pay for the flex at the cost of other physicals. That's the whole point!
  7. Hi, I came late and tried to read the whole thread in one sitting. I can see people have put much more thought into it than I have but this is my opinion in the time I have... Separating physicals sounds good. Mike's instinct to cut fighter skills for variety is correct IMO and I only wish he would make a 20/25% cut and have done with it. I think adding "clinch takedowns" and "clinch takedown defence" isn't very elegant. Sounds horrible. In fact, I would remove a skill by merging knees/elbows to improve them as alternative to punch in the clinch (this will somewhat counter the lower cap limit by ruducing the number of seconaries back down to twelve). I would address any issues of striker/grappler balance using engine tweaks (rather than trying to balance the number of skills strikers and grapplers need). Thanks. Just making my "vote".
  8. MAXOCTANE... Look. if you think it's wrong to rate women (who we all genuinely love by the way) by attractiveness for entertainment then you have it wrong. Anyone mentioned is loved and admired by at least one person. There is no victimisation. If we did an "ugliest women" competition, then maybe you could accuse us. And if women didn't compare men in the same way, I might reconsider, but they do, so I won't.
  9. New thread please. I'm in. I have one that will both have you thinking I'm taking the piss but could still potentially win (Remember I got in the last eight in the first one with Thelma from Scooby Doo - Linda Cardinelli). I have a better one ready to go! And for the record, I did start the original, first, "Hottest Woman in the World #1"
  10. I meant to say "Donald Trumpet WORE my hamster" of course. Timmy is back!
  11. Yea, what would Scottish kids have to do this weekend if the Americans hadn't invented Halloween?
  12. Mike has elite heart. I would charge you twice as much and ban half of you
  13. Scottish football is not to be taken seriously. Booby Mimms would be a stud at Celtic.
  14. No, No. His intentions are good but he isn't up to it philosophically. Check THIS out!
  15. A small edit and I agree with this 100%
  16. Better start praying to Shiva, Allah, Odin, Zeus, and all the other gods then. Even Satan - Just in case.
  17. I'm not as much of an MMA fan as most people here (I just love Tycoon as a game) so it's quite possible that Jeff Smith is a bigger name, and I'm pretty sure he is because I can find Jeff Smith on Sherdog no problem. Metra showed me a link about a year ago (I think it was Sherdog) and he looked like a decent young pro, I followed a bit for a while but now I'm having trouble remembering anything. Let's put it this way, he isn't Rampage Jackson! Metra said in his "goodbye" confession that he is an MMA fighter and, seeing as he now told everyone, all I can say is ask Metra. End of the day, he could have lied to me anyway. I just took him at his word, no bother. The name I thought I remembered is probably wrong because I can't find him now. I think I just forgot the name.
  18. This is me. I say so because I can see people already trying to blame the usual suspects, and that would be unfair. No, Im not as influential as Metra thinks, but it might have seemed like that to him because I mentored him when he joined and gave him a little money. He soon got the hang of fighting, was a nice guy, so I got him in my old alliance, Evolution. I remember the conversation about multis. I don't know if something was lost in translation because Metra is a French-speaker, but I didn't intend to encourage him to multi, quite the opposite. In the conversation I said that it goes on all the time, that I don't think Mike particularly cares if you (or your flatemate) are both buying VIP, but I specifically warned him that if he did it he would be crucified if other players found out. That was the truth then, and the truth now, and that is what I told him. I also said that I don't run a multi and I thought that should speak for itself as advice by example. With hindsight, maybe he thought I meant "I don't have a multi, wink-wink". I dunno (And I don't have a multi). Whatever, he must have certainly understood that running five multis was foolish, I would have thought. But he was a nice guy, he knew about fighting, and I believe what he says about being motivated to help others. So I for one liked him. When I heard about his multi accounts this week I wrote and said, if the accusations are true, he will surely get banned. I told him to contact Mike, confess, and see if he can restart with a single account. See what Mike says. On the whole, he is good for the game. But I think the shame of being exposed has got to him and he just wants to quit. Out of shame. He mentioned in his "confession" here that he is a real MMA fighter. He told me that a long time ago - It came up naturally in conversation - and I never told anyone. He told me who he is and I occaisionally followed that fighter, asked about his training once or twice. I can't say I would stake my life on it, but he convinced me (mainly by his casual lack of TRYING to convince me). And especially because, as far as I know, he never told anyone else (until today when he thinks he's leaving forever). If you knew who, you could look him up on Sherdog and get a surprise. Now that he has mentioned it, I can too. You might want to ask him yourself. If I'm completely honest, there was one of his multis that I was acquainted with that I did think was either him or something to do with him. I remember thinking that at some time. I didn't care. Did it remind me of him because it is him, or because this is a French-speaking friend of his? I wasn't bothered enough to investigate it. Who would "investigate" a friend anyway? Now that all his multis are listed, I see that actually "knew" most of them. Maybe he thought I knew they were him, maybe he didn't. I dunno. Summary: 1. He's alright (and possibly the most famous MMA fighter ever to play Tycoon). 2. He knows he did wrong, and is about to leave forever because he's ashamed. 3. He did it because he loves Tycoon TOO much. 4. The game is better off if he comes back (fairly, without multis). 5. I have to defend him because if he thought "it was OK as long you don't transfer money" and it was a misunderstanding due to me, I owe it to him. 6. Let's give him a second chance. Much, much worse people have been forgiven. I hope I can be as influential, just for once, as Metra thinks I am. T
  19. There is no trolling in this case. The chief instructor is a friend of mine from school. We did Kung Fu together when we were 14. He was always 100% martial Arts, and he excelled. He is forth Dan Karate (at least, I lose track) and a JJ black belt, He's got some degree in almost any martial art you could mention. I think what makes him worth studying with is his insistance on practicality - What he teaches you will work. And I think that's why he ended up with Krav Maga being his "title" style. If you live anywhere near Cambridgeshire, these are the best self defence lessons you can buy. No trolling. If you want to learn self-defence (as opposed to pretty traditions) this is your thing. That's all I was trying to say.
