But what are the effects of heart? I would think it determines how well a fighter deals with damage, so how goood he fights after taking some punishments. What other effects does heart have?
  2. I agree. While I can understand that the elite managers don't want to share all their knowledge with the other elite managers, it is really hard to understand this complex game without the help of others. You could find some information in the wiki, but it is so scattered or incomplete in many cases that the forums are the way to go.
  3. Well, it would make sense if your wrestling counted for less defensive grappling when you're on the bottom than when you're on top, and maybe the opposite with BJJ. So maybe it's the same ingame?
  4. Maybe not death or permanent injury, but like random training injuries or accidents. So maybe project fighters would have their training disrupted from time to time?
  5. guillotines are often attempted after a failed shot, so I could favour the stand up guy. I would like to see them added, because as many have pointed out, it happens irl too. The standing kimura would be my favourite, we have see it a few times in the past months, it always failed but was used to improve the clinch position of a fighter. Maybe the text could be something like: xxx is threatening with a kimura. yyy is forced to defend and as a result xxx broke the clinch.
  6. zatochi725, would you care to share your suggestions with the general public? (Or at least with me )
  7. Depends on personality. If you won a fight and still don't get the win, you could easily get discouraged and be like: Well, if a I don't win even when I am the better fighter, then fuck it.

So intelligence is less important for sub defense than confidence? That seems counterintuitive to me. So does confidence affect the outcome of moves? I thought it would just determine if your fighter atttempts a move.
  9. Would some experienced and knowledgeable managers be willing to share, which of the flavor texts actually mean something and which are just flavor texts? Like the "wrestlers don't like to be on their back" bit. Does that mean the Wrestling does count less if your fighter is on the back or is that just commentary nonsense? Or does hand waving mean anything?
  10. I disagree. Even if you have equal SD and subs (which is unlikely for a stand-up fighter) and even transitions and primary(which is very unlikely), without TKD your opponent will have a good chance to get takedowns into halfguard or even side control. So even with equal skills, you will lose. So Takedown Defense is more important at first and remains important at later stages. (If there is no flaw in my logic) Does anyone with more experience disargee?
  11. Who told you that? It seems counter-intuitive to me. Sure, if you forfeit takedown offense and defense completely, you have more points in your other areas. But some that specialises in one area and is decent in the other will still beat you by choosing where the fight is. Also, you probably get points by sucessful takedowns and get in a better position. So even if you have equal ground skills and get taken down, you are at a disadvantage. That is why I plan on giving my boxers very good takedown defense.
  12. What to bet on, how to find a fight that is good for betting, I don't know. I don't want to randomly lose my money but take a more strategic approach...
  13. Why would orgs let some newbie fighters sit idle anyways? If the org makes a profit for every event, why don't they make events as often as their fighters can do it? Especially 18yr olds should be easily matched against other 18ish year olds.
  14. Hello, I have never interacted with the ingame betting system before, can someone give a quick guide and some advice if it's worth it? I am a non-VIP player (college life makes for a thight budget) and could only spare a few k ingame $. Thank you!

Does anyone have a clue how this works? As there is no conclusive consensus on what the best strategy in different scenarios in different parts of the fight is, how does a very intelligent fighter figure whats "best". Did Mike himself do some testing and use his insight in the code to determine it?
  16. Can you link some fights? Did you try this with pure strikers that don't stand a chance on the ground?
  17. Well the wiki says: "So theoretically you can be an aggressor but use that move to stall, however contradictory that may sound." So I would interpret that as: If you are agressively stalling, you stop the other guy from taking action (as opposed to just noch taking action)
  18. Isn't Intelligence useful for the ground? I am starting to understand that the stand up game is somewhat plannable for a manager, but I don't want my fighter doing the same thing when he's in guard on bottom and when he is mounted on bottom. So sliders seems to be somewhat limited....
  19. You got 100$ for your first post and 10$ for every additional post. So you got a high reward for participating at all and a smaller one for particpating a lot. I liked that balance. But maybe this will encourage people to post more and even get some quality discussion in here. As far as gameplay is concerned, I am way too confused and unkonowledgeable to talk about it, unfortunately...
  20. Maybe he asked to get some credits? Anyways, I liked the diminishing returns on forum posts that were in place before.
  21. Does the hand waving during the fight mean anything? Like intelligence (because you are taunting the other guy) or big hurt or something else? or is it just flavour text?
  22. So, can anyone give me a conclusive answer? Would you personally accept it? How high do you think my chance of winning would be? How much would a loss hurt my fighter in the long run? @o'sullivan: you basically repeated why I said in my post. I highly doubt that I would be able to be able to keep it standing for long. Also while his ID is higher he is also older. So I would assume that he has more skill points, but I might have an edge in the physicals.
  23. My fighter: http://mmatycoon.com/fighterprofilemanager.php?FID=217014 Opponent: http://mmatycoon.com/fighterprofilepublic.php?FID=222470 He is the champion and my fighter can beat everyone else in the weightclass, so I am tempted to accept it. But as I read it, I would get taken down and get destroyed or get really, really lucky with a stoppage while it is still on the feet. My fighter is the only fighter that I have that might have a future, so would the chance an injury and morale hit be too great to just go for it?
  24. Great link, interesting read. Do you have more where that came from? (I read lots of the wiki, but I would have never found that link) And another short question: In the wiki it is excessivly mentioned that you should "mix it up", is that really so effective? When I had my 18yr old boxer do some kicks or takedowns, I would always watch the fight and be like:"oh no, he attemted a totally useless kick". But did that occasional, failed kick make my punches more effective?
