I'm thinking defense is what we all should train (defensive striking, grappling etc.) And also cardio, this greatly helps your fighter specially in a matches.

I kinda have the same problem, but mine is a little close, coz my fighter is based in new york and his fight contract is in montreal. And the extra fees on hotel room is a little painful. So good luck.
