  1. If you're going to finish Rodger in the first round you better make sure that it's a back and forth war otherwise I doubt you'll go home with the fight of the night award.
  2. http://oi60.tinypic.com/2r73uoj.jpg http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/33/33w14.jpg Arnel: I’m here with Yuya Inoue, who is fighting in the main event of this saturdays card “An Eye For An Eye” against Kasim Akande. You're the top ranked Light heavyweight in the organization, what does that mean to you and what do you think of your opponent saturday night? Inoue: Well that's were I belong, at the top. Kasim is a great fighter but I think I will win via submission. Arnel: I'm glad that you're confident in your abilities and it sure seems like you've earned the top spot. What do you think of the organization and are you surprised that your headlining in your Evil Evolution debut? Inoue: Evil Evolution is the fastest growing org in the game, they flew me over on a private jet and invited me to a top notch gym,I am over the moon with being the main event Arnel: That’s great to hear. I'm sure your fight will not disappoint. Training at the new evil evolution facility, what have you focused on as of late and have you switched anything up to prepare for Akande? Inoue: Not really I am just training every aspect of my game same as normal. I mix my training up so I am a all rounded fighter Arnel: I see, and would you say that being at the age of 36, are you getting too old for the sport or to you feel like you could fight a couple more years? Inoue: This is the reason I have came to Tokyo to fight, I come from Tokyo I have had fights all over the world but would love to finish my career here and become a evil evolution hall of famer. Arnel: Interesting, and because the title fights are being postponed till later, what are your plans after this fight? Inoue: Not sure I might move up and fight some heavyweights the org has lots of very good heavyweights so there might be some interesting match ups Arnel: Would that be a permanent move or would you just test the waters? Inoue: Just maybe test the waters who knows, I really want to leave a legacy so maybe light heavyweight and heavyweight titles are what I will go for Arnel: To claim the title at heavyweight there is a good chance that you would have to fight Simon Bruce. Would you be interested in that fight and how do you think you two stack up? Inoue: Simon is just coming off a huge win, so he has a lot of a buzz about him at the moment, he's got a tough fight coming up same as me, I think I could make him tap to be honest, so we will wait and see what happens in our fights and maybe in the future we will fight. Arnel: Well that is a fight that I would pay a lot of money to see. Final question, Is there anything that you would like to say before you make your Evil Evolution debut? Inoue: Watch Saturdays event, An Eye For An Eye, because I am going to submit Kasim Akande, and get submission of the night. I have had 10 before and 5 fight of the night honors, I know how to entertain the crowd and Saturday the crowd will love the main event trust me. Arnel: Well good luck to you and I can’t wait to see your fight. Inoue: No worries, was nice talking to you Arnel, and thanks but I don't need luck lol. Arnel: Well that was Yuya Inoue, and be sure to tune in to see him fight this saturday at “An Eye For An Eye”. I’m Arnel Halwani, see you next time
  3. No Pain No Gain Review 1st Preliminary Fight: Carl Sanderson VS Scott Ford Our first fight of the night was between submission specialist Carl Sanderson who looked to stay undefeated as he faced 0-2 brawler Scott Ford. Early in the round Sanderson went for a takedown and was able to land in side control no problem. Sanderson stood back up with around 4 minutes left in the round and tried two more takedowns that were both stuffed by Ford. Sanderson scored another takedown into the guard of Ford and after a few ground and pound strikes, he dropped back for a beautiful knee bar. Ford tried his own knee bar but Sanderson’s superior submission game reigned supreme as he was able to get the tap. Carl Sanderson improves to a perfect 3-0 and Scott Ford drops to 0-3. Result: Carl Sanderson def Scott Ford via Submission (Kneebar) at 2:25 of round 1 2nd Preliminary Fight: Tyson Niel VS Dee Hughes In our second fight, both fighters were making their debuts as striker Tyson Niel faced grappling specialist Dee Hughes. The bell for round one rang as Niel pumped a few jabs and tried to clinch but was unsuccessful. Niel landed a huge knee and Hughes was sent flying to the ground against the cage. Hughes was able to get up but was then rocked as well as cut over the eye. Hughes was a bloddy mess as Niel finally got in the clinch and landed some devastating knees from the thai clinch forcing the referee to stop the fight. Tyson Niel made a big first impression in his debut, finishing Hughes in only 53 seconds. Result: Tyson Niel def Dee Hughes via TKO (Knees) at 0:53 seconds of round 1 3rd Preliminary Fight: Rodrigo Rua VS Bruno Gracie Our third fight of the preliminary card was between striker Rodrigo Rua verse BJJ brown belt Bruno Grace. Right at the start of the round Gracie shot in for the takedown and Rua was put on his back. Gracie controlled the fight from the top landing some occasional ground and pound till Rua was able to push Gracie away. Rua landed a takedown of his own which put him in side control but Gracie was able to transition back to the guard. Gracie looked for submissions off his back but both fighters weren't active enough as the referee stood them up. Rua once again landed another takedown and quickly looked for a submission of his own that was unsuccessful. Gracie shifted his hips and looked for a kimura but Rua defended well as the round one came to an end. Round two was much of the same as Rua was easily able to take Gracie down multiple times. At the two minute mark of round two Rua successfully landed a takedown into half guard but Gracie transitioned back to full guard. Gracie reversed the position and ended up in side control. Gracie saw his opportunity and locked on a beautiful arm triangle causing Rua to go to sleep before he was able to tap. Rua showed excellent wrestling but it wasn't enough to neutralize Gracie’s BJJ. Result: Bruno Gracie def Rodrigo Rua via Submission (Arm Triangle) at 3:45 of round 2 4th Preliminary Fight: Gustavo Nunes VS Jackson Jackson Our fourth fight of the night was between well rounded Gustavo Nunes and Muay Thai specialist Jackson Jackson. Right at the start of the round Nunes pulled guard and Jackson dropped back for a kneebar. Nunes was able to slip out and gain top position but didn't impress the referee as he stood them both up. Nunes shot in and landed a takedown and decided to lay and pray, controlling Jackson till the referee stood them back up again. Nunes landed another takedown and worked a fews submissions as the round came to a close. Round two was all Nunes as he was able to get the takedown early and work for multiple submissions. Jackson showed good submission defense and near the end of the round was able to get back to his feet. Nunes clinched with Jackson pressing him up against the cage but was unable to land any strikes. The final round began as Jackson landed a takedown into Nunes guard. Nunes was able to sweep and gain the mount position which had Jackson in trouble. Nunes looked for multiple submissions but Jackson was able to hold them off. Nunes jumped over into side control and looked for an arm triangle right as the fight ended. Result: Gustavo Nunes def Jackson Jackson vis Unanimous Decision (30:27, 30:27, 30:27) 5th Preliminary Fight: Adam The Eagle VS Jonathon Helm Now on to our featured fight on the preliminary card. A fight between 3-0 Adam The Eagle and 2-1 Jonathon Helm. The bell for round one sounded and both fighters took the center of the octagon trading strikes. Helm missed with a left hand and The Eagle countered with a nice takedown. The Eagle was not really active and the referee had to stand them up but The Eagle took it back to the ground by pulling guard a minute later. The round closed with both fighters being stood up by the referee for the second time. Round two was similar as Helm shot in for a successful takedown. Both fighters were still not working on the ground and the referee had to stand them back up again. Helm clinched with The Eagle for a short period of time and then scored with a beautiful combination that had The Eagle rocked. The Eagle managed to survive as he took Helm down and ended the round in top position. In round three the momentum was still with Helm as he scored multiple takedowns, each time having to be stood up by the ref because of a lack of action. Both fighters seemed to be comfortable stalling on the ground and neither really did anything significant there. The final half of the third round was all stand up as Helm landed a clean combination and The Eagle threw couple low kicks. The Eagle tried to clinch but Helm wasn't having any of it which forced The Eagle to shoot for a takedown which caused him to end up in Helms guard. There wasn't any urgency in The Eagles face as stayed in Helms guard till the final round was over. Good takedown defense for Helm as he stuffed 14 takedowns from The Eagle. There wasn't much work being done on the ground this fight and the referee sure earned his paycheck tonight. Results: Jonathon Helm def Adam The Eagle via Unanimous decision (30:27, 30:27, 30:27) 1st Main Card Fight: Shimizu Matsuhita VS Floyd Thompson We start the main card with an exciting fight between two unbeatens as striker Shimizu Matsuhita faced grappler Floyd Thompson. Both fighters took the center of the octagon and Thompson was cut almost immediately. Thompson decided to take it to the ground but Matsuhita was able to sweep into half guard. Thompson tried a sweep of his own but Matsuhita was prepared. The referee had to stand up both fighters because of the lack of action and Thompson took it back to the ground again with a well timed counter takedown. Matsuhita looked for another sweep but Thompson was well aware of what he was trying to do and maintained the position. Matsuhita tried another sweep this time ending up in Thompson’s guard. Matsuhita wisely stood back up and the round finished with Matsuhita landing a nice uppercut. The second round began as Matsuhita stuffed a takedown attempt from Thompson. Matsuhita landed a couple more punches that opened up the cut of Thompson even more. Matsuhita then landed a huge strike that dropped Thompson to his knees which forced the referee to stop the fight as Matsuhita kept hitting Thompson with unanswered punches. Great striking shown by Matsuhita as he stays undefeated with a perfect 3-0 record and also takes home KO of the night. Result: Shimizu Matsuhita def Floyd Thomson via TKO (Strikes) at 0:32 of round 2 2nd Main Card Fight: Daigo Sato VS Yoshido Nakamara Our second main card fight tonight was between well rounded Daigo Sato and Jiu Jitsu ace Yoshido Nakamara. The fight started as Sato immediately stuffs one of Nakamara’s takedowns. Nakamara tried again for a takedown and was successful, landing in half guard. Sato defended multiple submissions showing great defense. Nakamara was really looking for the kimura in the first round trying it six different times. The round came to a close with Nakamara showing some great offense and Sato proving to us that he could defend against the submission. The second round started and Nakamara imminently knew what he wanted to do and landed another takedown, this time in side control. Nakamara landed a nice elbow and then tried for his signature kimura again. Nakamara was able to isolate the arm and Sato just didn't seem to have the energy to defend the submission as he tapped without any harm coming to his shoulder. Nakamara showed some great BJJ and he took home his first ever post fight bonus winning submission of the night. Result: Yoshido Nakamara def Daigo Sato via Submission (Kimura) at 0:47 of round 2 3rd Main Card Fight: Malutin Andrey VS Jonathan Brookins Our third main card fight was an amazing battle as the top two in the bantamweight division Malutin Andrey and Jonathon Brookins squared off. The bell rang and a right hand-left hook combo left Brookins cut early. Andrey was able to stuff the takedown from Brookins and move into the clinch where Brookins was able to land with some knees. Brookins scored a takedown but wasn't able to do much with it as Andrey escaped back to his feet. Brookins clinched up with Andrey this time and they traded vicious strikes for the rest of the round. The bell for round two rang and Brookins immediately went for a takedown that was stuffed . Andrey tried two consecutive head kicks that both miss but then landed a solid leg kick. Andrey still tried to land a high kick to no avail and Brookins closed the gap by landing a huge takedown. Andrey got back up to his feet but then Brookins brought him right back down. Andrey was able to use the cage to get to his feet again but Andrey looked tired as he took a breather against the cage. Brookins and Andrey engaged in another clinch war against the cage as Andrey effectively blocked some of Brookins shots as the round came to a close. Round three began as Brookins dragged Andrey back down for a short period of time until Andrey was able to kick him off. Brookins wisely avoided the clinch and worked his jab. Andrey really looked tired as he attempted some sloppy head kicks that Brookins was able to avoid. Brookins took Andrey back down and looked for a kimura that Andrey defended against nicely. Brookins tried a forearm choke which isn't the most common submission but Andrey did a good job defending it and was able to get back up to his feet for the last minute of the round. Andrey landed some good shots to the body to close out the round and boy was it a close fight. Result: Jonathan Brookins def Maultin Andrey via Split decision (30:29, 28:29, 30:27) Both fighters took home a nice Fight of the night bonus that they both greatly deserved. Co-Main Event: Trey Golden VS Karl Hungus Its time for our Co-Main event as top welterweights Trey Golden and Karl Hungus faced off. Coming right out of the gate Hungus took Golden down but was reversed as Golden was able to sweep into the mount. Golden was looking to control Hungus instead of finish him which forced the referee to stand them up. Golden landed a huge hook which got Hungus’s attention and they both continued to trade punches and leg kicks. Hungus seemed to be the agressor but it was Golden who got the final punch of the round landing a clean left hook. Both fighters took the center of the octagon for round two as Golden landed some clean punches that connected. Golden was able to move into the clinch but wasn't really effective as Hungus was able to get the underhooks and take him down. Hungus looked for the leg lock but was unsuccessful and gave up the top position. Both fighters were just sitting there and the referee decided to stand them up. Hungus started swinging wildly and Golden was able to wisely avoid the strikes and landed a nice jab that humbled Hungus. Hungus tried for another takedown but this time Golden was able to defend and the fight remained standing. Golden pushed Hungus against the cage and landed a clean shot to the liver. Golden went upstairs with a knee that left Hungus cut and followed it up with a sneaky uppercut that caught Hungus off guard dropping him to the mat. Golden smelled blood and swarmed Hungus until the referee had seen enough. Great fight put on by these welterweights and both of them showed their class at the end. Result: Trey Golden def Karl Hungus via TKO (Strikes) at 4:45 of round 2 Main Event: Rostam Samani VS Simon Bruce Now for our main event of the evening as Abu Dhabi champ, Rostam Samani, faced olympic wrestler Simon Bruce. The bell sounded and both fighters took the center with Samani looking for the takedown early. Bruce was able to stuff the takedown and land one of his own which put him in side control. Bruce looked for the kimura but wasn't in the best position to execute it. Bruce remained in side control throwing some ground and pound shots that were defended by Samani. Bruce landed some knees to the body which Samani definitely felt. Samani managed to sweep into full mount and then attempted an armbar which was successfully defended by Bruce. Bruce continued to throw ground and pound but Samani once again swept but was then reversed again by Bruce. Bruce ended the round in the top position but both fighters showed some insane grappling. Round two began as Samani tried to clinch but failed in doing so. Samani landed a low blow that had Bruce in some real pain. Bruce was somehow able to recover as he stuffed a takedown attempt from Samani. With one minute left in the round Samani was able to score with a takedown but didn't do much as he stalled till the round ended. The final round started and Bruce used his jab effectively keeping Samani at a distance. Samani threw a leg kick that Bruce used to take him down showing his olympic wrestling pedigree. Samani landed an amazing scissor sweep and landed in half guard. Samani looked for a kimura but wasn't in the right position to finish. Bruce kept looking for the sweep as Samani landed some decent ground and pound. After many attempts Bruce finally executed a sweep that left him in the mount position. Samani blocked some huge ground and pound strikes and was able to survive as the fight came to a close. Great main event put on by these two and what a grappling war it was. Result: Simon Bruce def Rostam Samani via Unanimous decision (29:28, 29:28, 29:28) This was an amazing fight card and everyone put on a show. Congratulations to all of the fighters on the card and I cant wait to seem them back in action. Tune in to our next fight card “An Eye For An Eye” on April 19th which feature some great fights that are a must see. I’m Cole deBorhegyi, see you next time. It’s been a pleasure. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/company/logo/1394639249n68oIRK.gif
  4. http://oi60.tinypic.com/2r73uoj.jpg http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/33/33w11.jpg Halwani: I’m here with top featherweight Yoshido Nakamara who is fighting on the “No Pain No Gain” card this saturday against Daigo Sato. First question, What do you think of your opponent and how have you been preparing for him? Nakamara: Well he has better stand up than me so I can't underestimate him, that would be foolish. He is also unbeaten but not that experienced. Halwani: So would you say that you are pretty confident going into this fight? Nakamara: Yeah I am confident going into this fight. My ground game is better than his and I have more experience. Halwani: You seem to be at the top of the featherweight division, what do you think of the rest of the division and does anyone match up well for you? Nakamara: Any of them to be honest with you I am confident I have the skills, my brother Hiyato has 1 fight left on his contract, his last fight for his current org is tomorrow. After that he will be signing with Evil Evolution, so 155 division best watch out as well the Nakamara brothers are gonna be taking over. Halwani: Well I can't wait to see Hiyato come over here and fight alongside his brother. With the title fights being postponed till around a month or two later, what are your plans moving ahead? Would you like to take as many fights as possible or do you want to slow it down? Nakamara: I’d like to keep active to be honest so hopefully I get an impressive submission victory and win submission of the night. After that, bring on the next victim. Halwani: That’s a good way to go about things. Is there anything that you have changed about your training to prepare for Sato? Nakamara: No not really. I train everything to try become better all over, my bjj is my bread and butter and hopefully I will be a black belt soon, brown at the moment. I am training at Ultimate MMA Training Centre- Evil Evolution, it’s a quality gym for a reasonable price, so that's great. Halwani: That sounds good and it sounds like you’re prepared as well. Final question, is their anything you want to say to Sato or the rest of the division, or would you like to call someone out to fight next? Nakamara: Sato tap quick because I don't want to break a bone or put you to sleep that goes for the rest of the featherweights as well. Also my brother will be here very soon, lightweights best watch out. Thanks for today Arnel was a pleasure. Halwani: Well it should be an interesting fight this saturday and I can’t wait till both of the Nakamara brothers are fighting for Evil Evolution. Good luck to Yoshido in his fight against Sato and be sure to tune in to “No Pain No Gain” this saturday. I’m Arnel Halwani, see you next time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/company/logo/1394639249n68oIRK.gif
  5. Im so excited for the 19th, there's going to be some great fights.
  6. For those of you who haven't gotten a chance to read the "No Pain No Gain" event preview, here it is: No Pain No Gain Preview- 1st Preliminary Fight: Carl Sanderson VS Scott Ford We kick things off with a fight in the lightweight division as 2-0 fighter Carl Sanderson is looking to stay undefeated as he faces Scott Ford who is coming off of a tough TKO loss. Sanderson has an advantage in the grappling game with Ford slightly edging him in the wrestling. Sanderson will probably look to take things to the ground as Ford has a significant advantage in boxing. Wherever the fight takes place these fighters will not disappoint. This is going to be a great fight and I predict a finish. 2nd Preliminary Fight: Dee Hughes VS Tyson Niel Our second fight of the night is between two fighters who are both making their debuts to the pro circuit. Tyson Niel is coming into this fight significantly heavier and we’ll see how that factors in as he will most likely look to keep it standing with an edge in striking. Hughes on the other hand has a sizable advantage in the grappling and will probably look to take Niel down early. This looks like it will be a standup vs grappling war and I’m excited to see who comes out on top. 3rd Preliminary Fight: Bruno Gracie VS Rodrigo Rua In our third preliminary fight of the night, Rodrigo Rua will be making his debut against well rounded Bruno Gracie. Gracie is a brown belt in jiu jitsu and will probably look for the submission, although he may run into trouble as Rua has a superior wrestling advantage and may be able to stuff the takedown. Even if Gracie cannot get the takedown, he will not be in serious trouble as he matches up pretty evenly with Rua in the stand up department. I can’t wait to see where the fight goes and how it will play out. 4th Preliminary Fight: Gustavo Nunes VS Jackson Jackson Our 4th fight of the night is between two unbeatens as both Gustavo Nunes and Jackson Jackson look to keep their perfect records alive. Both fighters seem very equally matched with Nunes having a slight advantage in the boxing and Jackson having the advantage in Muay Thai. With both of them equally matched on the ground I can predict that this will be a stand up war with only one of them leaving undefeated. 5th Preliminary Fight: Jonathon Helm VS Adam The Eagle Our headliner on the preliminary card is a fight in the bantamweight division between 2-1 striker Jonathon Helm and perfect 3-0 finisher Adam The Eagle. This fight looks very even with Helm having a slim advantage in the striking and Adam having the advantage in the submission game. Both fighters have the same amount of experience and this fight will really be a toss up. If both fighters show up saturday night and bring it, it could be an easy Fight of the Night candidate 1st Main Card Fight: Shimizu Matsuhita VS Floyd Thompson We kick the main card off with another fight between two unbeatens as Shimizu Matsuhita and Floyd Thompson square off. Both fighters are 2-0 with each of their two wins coming by knockout or TKO. This has all the makings to be a slugfest with a very real chance of it ending in a knockout. Thompson who has the superior wrestling may try to take the fight to the ground but I would expect nothing more than a barn burner fight with one of them going home with their first lose and the other moving to an impressive 3-0. 2nd Main Card Fight: Daigo Sato VS Yoshido Nakamara In our second main card fight, we have another clash of styles as striker Daigo Sato faces fellow featherweight and submission specialist, Yoshido Nakamara. It seems apparent as to what these fighters game plans will be as Nakamara will most likely look for the submission and Sato the knockout. Nakamara is the more experienced fighter so it will be interesting to see how this fight plays out but on paper it looks to be a great fight 3rd Main Card Fight: Malutin Andrey VS Jonathan Brookins Our third main card fight features two top fighters as the #1 bantamweight in the organization Malutin Andrey looks to bounce back from a disappointing TKO loss by beating #2 Jonathan Brookins. The fight on paper looks almost dead even with a stalemate in the striking department and a slight advantage for Brookins in wrestling. Both fighters are going to give it their all and I can assure that it will be an all out war once the bell rings. This fight has finish written all over it. Co-Main Event: Trey Golden VS Karl Hungus Moving on to our co-main event, a fight between the organizations top welterweights as Trey Golden faces Karl Hunges. Golden has the superior muay thai skill with everything else virtually identical. Hungus's bread and butter seems to be his submission game but Golden responded earlier in the week saying that Hungus wouldn't even be able to take him down. It will be interesting to see where the fight takes place and who will have the advantage where. I would give the experience advantage to Hungus but anything could happen. Be sure to tune in for this fight and I’d advise you not to blink as both fighters are capable of ending it in seconds. Main Event: Rostam Samani VS Simon Bruce Now its time for our main event as the heavyweights take center-stage. Our main event tonight is between Rostam Samani and Simon Bruce who have a combined total of 27 (T)KOs. This fight might very well be a slugfest but Samani may switch it up as he does have the advantage on the ground. Bruce is significantly heavier coming in at around 36lbs heavier which could play to his advantage. Bruce is also slightly more experienced but this fight has the chance to win any of the post fight bonuses and is a must watch for any fight fans. “No Pain No Gain” is going to be an amazing fight card and I wish all of the fighters the best of luck. Our fighters at Evil Evolution don’t disappoint and you can be sure every fighter will put on a show. I can’t wait to see how the fight card goes and I’ll see you next time on the Post Fight Review. It’s been a pleasure. -Cole deBorhegyi
  7. http://oi60.tinypic.com/2r73uoj.jpg http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/32/32b28.jpg Halwani: I’m here with second ranked welterweight Trey Golden who is fighting in the Co-Main Event of saturdays event “No Pain No Gain”. Halwani: Your upcoming fight this weekend is against Karl Hungus. What is your thoughts on your opponent and are you prepared for what he will bring to the table? Golden: Yeah I'm ready for him. Have been for 2 weeks now. He's a good fighter. He specializes in submissions. Unfortunately for him in order to submit me he has to get me down. There's no chance of that happening. Halwani: You have a slight edge in the stand up. Would you prefer to stand with Hungus or do you feel comfortable anywhere the fight goes? Golden: I'd prefer to keep the fight standing. Like I said he can be dangerous on the ground but if the fight does go down, I'm confident I can beat him on row ground too Halwani: Im glad to hear that. Saying everything goes well, a win over Hungus, seeing as he is the number one fighter in the division, would be huge. What do you think of the other fighters in the division and who would you possibly like to fight next? Golden: Yeah getting a win over Hungus would be big for me but it's just a stepping stone. I feel like there's only one place to go after this and that would be to take on the next contender. I'd there's nobody worth facing I'd welcome the chance to fight in another division. Halwani: If you changed divisions would you rather drop to lightweight or move up to middleweight? Golden: I think I'd rather move up to middleweight. It'd be easier than cutting too much weight. Halwani: Understandable. What have you worked on in your training camp to prepare for Hungus and is he your toughest test to date? Golden: I treat all my opponents as if they're my toughest fight. When you slack off and take peple lightly you make mistakes. I want to make sure if Hungus beats me it's because he was better. I'm not working on any particular area to prepare for him. I''m just going to work on what I feel I need to. I have a gameplan and I am going to stick to it. Halwani: Thats a good way to look at things. Final question, is there anything that you would like to say to your opponent or any of the other fighters in the division? Golden: Hungus, I know you're a good fighter but I plan to use you as the catapult I need to be top in this division. I will be the first to wear the belt. Any fighter who wishes to challenge my claim is more than welcome. I would say Carlo is next but apparently his manager dropped him after his loss. Can't blame him. Disgrace hurts... Good luck to you Hungus. But be prepared. Halwani: Great stuff from Trey Golden. It’s going to be one hell of a fight on saturday. Be sure to watch as Trey Golden faces Karl Hungus this saturday at “No Pain No Gain”. I’m Arnel Halwani, see you next time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/company/logo/1394639249n68oIRK.gif
  8. http://oi60.tinypic.com/2r73uoj.jpg http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/32/32w10.jpg Halwani: I’m here with upcoming welterweight LeRoy Parker who is just coming off a unanimous decision win against Pedro Marcelo at “Guts and Glory” Halwani: What did you think about your performance on saturday at Guts and Glory? Parker: I think it went pretty well. I probably could have followed up a bit better after rocking Marcelo in the 3rd round but all in all Im happy with the outcome. Halwani: I'm glad to here that. After the fight Marcelo called for an immediate rematch. Does this rematch interest or are you ready to move on in the division? Parker: Im not opposed to giving Marcelo a rematch. To be honest Id fight almost anyone at this point to keep me moving up the ladder. Halwani: So maybe a rematch with Marcelo or even a fight between the winner of Trey Golden and Karl Hungus would be suitable. What is your take on the welterweight division? Is there anyone in the division that might pose a threat? Parker: Everyone in the division posses a threat at this point and lets be honest Im nowhere near the talent that Trey or Karl are at this time. I was eyeballing a few fighters in the Middleweight division and thinking maybe of taking a fight or two there while building myself up but if Marcelo wants the rematch Im game. Halwani: A possible division change, that sounds interesting. Was there anyone in particular that you would want to fight at middleweight or does any fight sound good to you? Parker: Not so much a division change as I hate the yo yo dieting but a quick visit to see how Id fair in a higher division. Ive been watching Mamadou Abdoulaye and think it could be a good fight for me. Halwani: You two would match up well. Both of you are coming off a win and that would be a definite fight of the night contender. Final question, Is there anything else that you would like to say to the fighters in the welterweight and middleweight division or just the fans in general? Parker: Not really but I would like to thank the staff of Evil Evolution for signing me to a contract and giving me a chance to shine. So far its been a real blast, everyones been great and I couldn't ask for more. Thank you for the interview. Halwani: Whether he accepts the rematch with Marcelo, or tests the waters at middleweight, we can be sure that Parkers next fight will be an entertaining one. This has been Arnel Helwani see you next time and be sure to watch our next event “No Pain No Gain” this saturday. ————————————————————————————————————————— http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/company/logo/1394639249n68oIRK.gif
  9. Here is the review posted on the smack talk thread as well. Guts and Glory review 1st Prelim: Dane Hoy VS Jet Thompson We kicked things off tonight with our first fight of the night between Dane Hoy and Jet Thompson, two well rounded guys who were matched very equally skill wise. Hoy started things off with an early takedown looking to keep it on the ground. Unfortunately for Hoy, Thompson was able to take it back to the feet where Thompson edged out Hoy in striking till the bell sounded in round 1. Round 2 looked the same with Hoy blasting another early takedown and attempting a leg lock to no avail. Thompson once again stood things up and seemed much more comfortable on the feet. Going into round 3 it looked like it was two rounds to zero with Hoy needing a finish. Hoy was able to accomplish multiple takedowns which secured him the round but it was just not enough to win the fight. Result: Jet Thompson def Dane Hoy via Majority Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-29) 2nd Prelim: John Lee VS Shorty McTwat Our second prelim fight matched an 0-2 striker Shorty McTwat with 1-1 Jiu Jitsu specialist John Lee. The bell rang and both fighters kept it standing punching air. John Lee landed a huge takedown and Shorty McTwat seemed to be in uncomfortable territory. Lee was able to isolate the arm early and locked on a beautiful arm triangle in which McTwat was forced to tap. John Lee also walked away with the submission of the night. Result: John Lee def Shorty McTwat via Arm Triangle at 0:58 of round 1 3rd Prelim Lee Gee Yio VS Lauren Hayes In our third preliminary fight, Lee Gee Yio looked to welcome the newcomer Lauren Hayes to the octagon. Haye is making his professional debut tonight and is looking for the finish. The fighters began with Yio missing an early takedown attempt but counters a lazy uppercut by Hayes with a huge head kick that drops him to the mat. Hayes looked rocked but hung in there eventually landing his own right hand that dropped Yio. Yio looked to be in deep trouble as Hayes landed another right hook that dropped Yio again. Hayes pumps a jab that the wobbly Yio ran right into, knocking him out cold. A solid knockout in which both fighters took home a fight of the night bonus. Lauren Hayes really made a name for himself in his debut, what a comeback. Result: Lauren Hayes def Lee Gee Yio via KO at 1:59 of round 1 4th Prelim Lenny Jones VS Alexander Dezhnyov Our fourth fight of the night looks to be a barn burner as Lenny Jones, a ground specialist, will look to keep a perfect record as he faces a well rounded Russian brawler in Alexander Dezhnyov. Jones lands a take down right at the bell which is where Jones wanted to be. A total of 12 submissions were attempted by Jones in the first round making you wonder how much energy he still has left. The tides changed a bit in the second round as Dezhnyov landed a devastating supplex that dropped Jones right on his head, but Jones eventually got back to his feet and landed a takedown late in the second round, closing the round with another few failed submission attempts. The third round was much of the same with Jones attempting 8 more submissions displaying great cardio even when he wasn't able to finish the fight. Dezhnyov display outstanding submission defense stopping all 24 attempts but seemed outclassed on the ground as Jones had the superior ground game. Afterwards Lenny took the time to hype himself up which didn't resonate well with the crowd. Result: Lenny Jones def Alexander Dezhnyov vis Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) 5th Prelim Shinya Hideyoshi VS Nemo Nautilus The featured fight on our prelim card was a battle with both fighters showcasing their striking and ground game. Hideyoshi seemed more comfortable taking it to the ground landing a takedown right at the bell. Hideyoshi was cut early but his superior wrestling game was unmatched as Hideyoshi landed takedown after takedown. Near the end of the round both fighters were stood up by the ref and they showcased their striking as Nautilus landed a few shots that made it seem like Hideyoshi would take it back to the ground. After a few more exchanges and the round nearing an end, Hideyoshi landed a huge overhand right that dropped Nautilus. Hideyoshi swarmed him and the ref was forced to step in. Result: Shinya Hideyoshi def Nemo Nautilus vis TKO (Strikes) at 4:48 of round 1 1st Main card William Cutting VS Jermain Johnson We kick off our main card with a fight between ruthless striker William “The Butcher” Cutting versus well rounded wrestler Jermain “Big Nasty” Johnson. Round 1 begins and Johnson goes to his bread and butter and lands an early takedown into half guard. Ironically Cutting was cut by Johnson and was bleeding bad. Johnson started aiming for the cut landing some nice ground and pound that was pretty much unanswered by Cutting. Cutting’s cut seemed to open up even more and both fighters were soaked in blood. The referee was forced to break the action to have the doctor look at the cut. The doctor even looked disgusted as he called an end to a fight. A very ironic fight as William “The Butcher” Cutting loses via cut. Jermain was in control the entire fight and showed excellent wrestling skills. Result: Jermain Johnson def William Cutting via TKO (Cut) at 2:56 of round 1 2nd Main card Michal Toth VS Rafael Dos Santos Our second fight of the main card features a well rounded 1-1 fighter in Michal Toth who looks to hand perfect 2-0 Rafael Dos Santos his first loss. The first round seemed to focus on the clinch game as both strikers landed shots resulting in Toth getting cut over his eye. Dos Santos stalled by pushing Toth against the fence landing the occasional body shot. Dos Santos kept Toth against the cage for the remainder of the round. More of the same as the second round was still focused on the clinch game but Dos Santos was landing strikes that kept opening up the cut above Toth’s eye. Both fighters exchanged knees to the body as the second round came to a close. The bell for the third round rang and Dos Santos lands a huge high kick that has Toth rocked. Dos Santos clinches up and Toth is cut once again. Still in the clinch, Dos Santos breaks apart and lands some devastating elbows that leaves Toth unconscious. Dos Santos really showcased his Muay Thai in this fight but give it up for Toth for hanging in there outside of his element. Dos Santos moves to 3-0 and remains unbeaten. Result: Rafael Dos Santos def Michal Toth via TKO (Strikes) at 1:09 of round 3 3rd Main card Mamadou Abdoulaye VS Darnell Rawlins Our third fight of the main card was between high level wrestler Mamadou Abdoulaye versus the well rounded Muay Thai striker Darnell Rawlins. Abdoulaye knows where he wants to go and has the skill set to dictate where the fight takes place. Abdoulaye lands a solid takedown in the opening of the first round eventually leading to a referee standup. Abdoulaye kept working the takedown and eventually scored landing a trip into the guard. Rawlins was rocked on the ground with some solid elbows and Abdoulaye was able to capitalize as he moved into mount. Abdoulaye landed unanswered strikes from the mount as Rawlins tried to cover up and survive the onslaught. Rawlins still looked dazed as Abdoulaye landed a huge head shot that caused Rawlins to roll over on his side. After a few more shots the referee was forced to step in. Abdoulaye was able to control the ground game and Rawlins just didn't have the space between them to land some good punches. Result: Mamadou Abdoulaye def Darnell Rawlins via TKO (Strikes) at 4:55 of round 1 Co-Main Event LeRoy Parker VS Pedro Marcelo Now moving on to our Co-Main event, a match between 4-1 ground specialist Leroy Parker and undefeated 3-0 jiu jitsu specialist Pedro Marcelo. The bell for round 1 rang and a stand up war began as both fighters landed strikes until Parker had enough and took the fight to the ground. Both fighters are purple belts so it was interesting to see how they stacked up in the submission game. Parker landed some huge ground and pound in the first round and Marcelo didn't really have the opportunity to go for submissions as he was too busy blocking strikes. In round two Parker immediately takes Marcelo down. Parker seems to think that he is the superior ground fighter as he landed more ground and pound to close out the second round. Marcelo needed to answer back and he did just that with a takedown early in the third. Marcelo didn't look for the finish but merely controlled Parker which allowed Parker to sweep and move into the mount. Marcelo was rocked by more ground and pound but was able to hang on as the referee stood them up. Marcelo took Parker down again but didn't seem to do much as the ref stands them back up for the second time. Marcelo stepped up the pace at the end of the round but it was too late to convince the judges. Parker showed some insane ground and pound and pretty much controlled the fight. Result: Leroy Parker def Pedro Marcelo via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) Parker has handed Marcelo his first career loss in which Marcelo responded with an immediate rematch. Hopefully Parker agrees and we can see these two back in action in no time. Maybe there will even be a trilogy??? Main Event Mark Coleman VS Henrik Larsson Here it is folks, the main event of the night and boy was it a barn burner. Both fighters showed up tonight in what was a easy fight of the night candidate. Our main event was between Mark Coleman a veteran of the sport who was formally ranked number six in the world versus the fellow veteran Henrik Larsson. The bell for round one rings and Larsson immediately enters the clinch. Coleman tried to take Larsson down but failed and the fighters remained in the clinch trading blows. Larsson hit Coleman with a left hook that left him rocked forcing Coleman to go for broke with a desperation takedown. The fighters stayed in the clinch landing some effective body shots but it looked like Larsson wanted to stall. The second round began as Larsson lands a huge right hook that drops Coleman early. Coleman was able to score with a takedown but Larsson swept Coleman reversing the position. The referee stood them up and the remainder of the round stayed in the clinch. Going into the third round both fighters looked unfazed but Coleman really needed to turn it up at the end of the round. Early in the third round Larsson hit Coleman with a hard right hand and clinched up. Coleman must have thought Larsson would keep stalling as he was not prepared for a ruthless uppercut that sent Coleman off his feet and crashing to the mat unconscious. It is always sad to see a veteran like Coleman get knocked out like that but props to both fighters as they both but on a great fight and showed their class. Result: Henrik Larsson def Mark Coleman via KO at 1:24 of round 3 Post Fight Bonuses: Fight of the Night: Lauren Hayes VS Lee Gee Yio KO of the Night: Henrik Larsson Submission of the Night: John Lee That concludes my post event review of Guts and Glory. Nemo Nautilus: Sure! I literally crossed the world looking for a chance to fight in this organization. Ben Frankham: Is there any part of you that wanted revenge for your gym training partner and fellow Mexican Miguel Gonzales when accepting this fight? Nemo Nautilus: No, I'm sure that Gonzales will look for his own revenge; my fight with Hideyoshi is quite apart. Ben Frankham: You both being in the same division in the same organization, same age and also experience, there is a big chance you could be asked to fight each other in the future, is this a problem for you? Nemo Nautilus: I love tough fights! and everyone knows what happens when two Mexican warriors face each other, so no, I have no problem. Ben Frankham: How do you see the fight planning out? Nemo Nautilus: Well he has a KO victory, so I have to be careful, but I'm very confident in my boxing skills. Ben Frankham: Was it an easy decision taking the fight on such short notice? Nemo Nautilus: Certainly it wasn't easy, but I'm here to fight. No excuses Ben Frankham: What do you think of Liam miller talking so much smack in the 155lbs class and then turning down a fight with Hideyoshi? Nemo Nautilus: I don't understand, like I said, we are here to fight. NO EXCUSES Ben Frankham: I hope you like what I write haha
  13. http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/40/40b1.jpg Pedro “The Magician” Marcelo Weight: 170 Record: 3-0 Ben Frankham: Today ladies and gentlemen I am delighted to welcome Pedro “The Magician” Marcelo. Hello Pedro, thanks for taking time out to speak with me. I will start with how does it feel you are the co main event at Guts and Glory? Ben Frankham: Well that's optimistic you seem very confident? Do you see Leroy Parker giving you any problems looking ahead of your fight? Pedro Marcelo: I am confident but not arrogant or ignorant. I am fully aware that Leroy is my toughest challenge so far he has had 5 fights, winning 4 and only losing 1, that was in a good organization, so I no it's not going to be easy but I am confident I can win this fight. Ben Frankham: Talking of organizations, you just left your country were you were at a great Org Barbarian FC, why did you leave and sign with Evil Evolution ? Pedro Marcelo: I won fights in Brazil and it felt like it was time for me to move out of the ghettos. There is a lot of gang cultures where I come from. Ben Frankham: So do you think Evil Evolution is the place you can become a star? Pedro Marcelo: Yea sure I do, it's got regular events, and is constantly growing, so hopefully I can be very successful here. 14. If any style know how to manipulate the human body it's bjj. All you know how to do is take someone down and wait there for 3 rounds. My. "Joo jhiiitsu" at least finishes fights.
  15. All you do is lay and pray. If you "got to work" you'd be finishing guys on the ground. Also beating a guy 29-28 is not demolishing them
  16. Sure you could take me down, I would even let you take me down. Your white belt vs my purple belt, I would submit you in the first round. But I'm a division above so I want Pale Monster to do it because there is no way that you can beat him. And responding to aylib, South Minneapolis.
  17. I'm usually a soft spoken person and I let my fighting do the talking but can somebody please put an end the talk of Jeffery Hughes. Its one thing to talk smack and I do find it entertaining but in order to talk smack you need to have the skills to back it up. Having only decision wins isn't impressive. I wish I could drop a weight class to give you a real match but I have an upcoming title shot. I would love to see the loser of Pale Monster and Ross Peerson fight Jeffery Hughes to see if he really is one of the best in the division because a title shot at this point would be absurd. I have no animosity towards Hughes, I simply want him to prove himself worthy of a step up in competition. Also good luck to Santa Claus in our upcoming fight, it will be an honor to fight you for the belt. -Shapovolov Sokoloff
  18. Todd Duffee has a rare nerve disorder which explains why he's been out for 4 years so maybe TRT helps him with training and stuff
  19. King mo is such a boring fighter
  20. Thats going to be in the running for knockout of the year
  21. 1) Donald Cerrone- Always puts on an amazing preformance and is very technical 2) Phil Davis- Overall great guy, funny, and an amazing fighter 3) Travis Browne- Always finds a way to win and has a huge heart 4) John Dodson- Funny as well as lightning quick with huge knockout power 5) Carlos Condit- Similar to Cerrone except a little bit heavier, Natural Born Killer
  22. Rampage is going to outstrike Mo. The only way that King Mo will win is if he goes back to his wrestling roots and grinds out a decision or late TKO. I see Rampage winning a decision if he doesnt gas.
