Well fellas history has been made, with our inaugural event completed, the results for the opening round of the DFN Middleweight Grand Prix are locked in! Electric Jamaican Macka Briggs stole the show early on with the 9 second dispatching of Jordie Jordan, bagging him a knockout of the night bonus and a place in the winner's bracket in the next round. With several slick submissions seeing success this evening, there were many potential stars in the runnings for sub of the night honours - with Hick Diaz's last second miracle kimura taking the cake. The Fight of the Night was one to remember as Toronto's Killer Mike butted heads with Texan Titus Wilder in a bout that due to the judges, unfortunately saw no winner. Because of this, our bracket will need to be rearranged as to not delay the tournament nor punish any fighter for something beyond their control. I will be moving my fighter (Jisun Roh) into the loser's bracket and allowing both Mike and Wilder to progress as if they were 1-0. This means that two bouts for round 1 will appear different to how they actually were in the bracket. Thanks for letting me know lads. As far as I can see we still need fighter submissions from a couple guys (they've been made aware). As soon as I get the names locked I can get the bracket sorted and fights booked - there isn't long left now!

The opening round for the DFN Middleweight Grand Prix will be on Saturday 5th of June - exactly 4 weeks after the creation date. Fighters must be locked in by May 22nd at the very latest, so we can get the bracket drafted up and the first round of fights set up. Thanks to those that have submitted their fighters here or via messages so far, and good luck to those still testing.

With the final slot filled, I'd like to get this rolling asap and have decided that tomorrow - May 8th will be the creation date. Testing is allowed, and any fighter created on/after May 8th, weighing no less than 185 lbs and no older than 18 may be submitted for entry. Good luck on rolling, I look forward to seeing some talented young fighters emerge. I'll be adding another $50,000 award for Character of the Tournament- given to who I personally find the most interesting throughout the duration of the competition. This may include anything from their name, avatar, bio/story or how they interact with others on this thread. Let's get creative!
