  1. That just won't do. I don't want to be wanted. I want a fight and demand a fight over who gets stuck with me.
  2. Don't judge the first 4 weeks very much. In the past 6 years it's gotten common which for me has made the first 4 weeks hard to watch because you don't see good football. But most teams hold out all or most of their starting lineup on both sides of the ball through the preseason so the first 4 weeks everyone is trying to gel together.
  3. Wow Miami 2 receivers having 150+ yards receiving in a single game. Impressive.
  4. What a pathetic defensive performance when a guy can catch a ball 2 yards pass the line of scrimmage, completely fall down, get up, and run for an additional 15 yards for the touchdown without being touched. I kind of want to congratulate Swift for pulling it off but I just can't terrible defensive job by Washington there.
  5. Big Wave XVII: Review Wow we almost filled the entire bar. We sold 717 tickets. Which is why we handed out the biggest awards yet of 2k an award. Also not only was this our biggest event but the fans loved it. So expect a few reviews. This first fight to be reviewed is the winner of Submission of the Night between Owen Hargreaves and Morty Horowitz. The fight opens up with Hargreaves landing a beautiful 1, 2 combination. Horowitz fakes an overhand and changes levels for a takedown. Hargreaves sprawls, and Horowitz picks him up just a bit and leaves into him falling into half guard. Horowitz immediately passes into side control. Horowitz lands a knee to the body and forearm to the face on the ground here. A little more ground and pound here from Horowitz. Hargreaves is trying to pressure here to make a move to get out from the bottom and Horowitz uses this to take the full mount. Horowitz starts immediately dropping some ground and pound. Hargreaves tries to get out of this position and away from this ground and pound, Horowitz shoves a forearm into Hargreaves and forces him back flat. Horowitz goes right back to administering ground and pound. Hargreaves pulls Horowitz close into him dragging them both closer and closer to the cage. Both fighters are up against the cage. Horowitz isolates an arm against the cage. He grabs he twists into an armbar and Hargreaves is tapping. Your winner by submission in the VERY FIRST Round by armbar Morty Horowitz!!! Horowitz grabs the mic from the announcer and says who are you? I walked out with Brock Lesnar in his title fight against Randy Couture. I'm personally not sure walking someone else out to fight makes you anything but ok. The second fight we are going to review is our Fight of the Night winner between Akahoshi Hisashi and Lexus Chaos. Hisashi immediately opens up with a straight right that catches Chaos right in the eye. Chaos lands a beautiful cross to Hisashi. Hisashi throws a head kick that misses Chaos but he wasn't ready for the immediate twirling aerial tae-kwon-do display of kicks and takes the second to the head. Hisashi barely lands an uppercut. Hisashi fakes high and goes low with a hook to the body. Chaos stumbles backwards and seems to be trying to catch his breath. That body shot clearly seems to have hurt him. Then some nice back and forth action for the rest of the round. Second round Chaos lands a nice combination that has a Hisashi off balance. Chaos pounces on him and lands an overhand right. Hisashi looking very unstable. Hisashi lands a leg kick. And then a bit of back and forth action as Hisashi regains his composure. Hisashi lands a head kick and follows it up with a nice punch to the head. Chaos is now rocked. Looks to have really woken him up as he is does some really good dodging of shots. Now there becomes some more back and forth action through the round. Round 3 takes way with a bit of pushing of the action by Hisashi. The fight goes the distance and your winner by unanimous decision Akahoshi Hisashi!!! The next fight we are going to talk about is the winner of Knock Out of the Night between Bon Gamin and Furio Corleone. Gamin lands a big right hand that sends Corleone crashing to the mat. Gamin waves Corleone back to his feet. Corleone has a cut above the eye. Gamin lands a straight right on the chin and drops him again. This time he rushes in landing a couple hammer fists as the ref jumps in quickly stopping the fight. Your winner by TKO Bon Gamin!!! Then we have Henrique Falcono and Alex Karelin. Falcono lands a big uppercut that sends Karelin crashing to the ground. The ref thinks about stopping it but Falcono is waving him back up. Karelin is clearly cut. Karelin tries for a takedown and Falcono counters with a huge overhand right that sends Karelin to ground again this time falling face first and Falcono turns and walks away knowing it's over. Your winner by KO Henrique Falcono!!! And a big congratulations to Enrico Fermi who successfully defended his title for the third time. He will be watching I'm sure as Bon Gamin and Henrique Falcono fight for the number 1 contender spot and who gets to challenge him next.
  6. Sanka Coffee: Feel the rhythm, feel the rhyme, get on up it's MMA time!!! I have here with me Morton Masters. Morton Masters: Hey Sanka! Sanka Coffee: So you are going to be facing Darren Frost for the 185 pound belt right? Morton Masters: Yeah I kept waiting and waiting for him to sign on the line and he finally signed yesterday 3 days before the fight is to take place. Sanka Coffee: How do you see the fight going? Morton Masters: In the island tournament when I knocked him out I dominated the fight, and I expect nothing less from this fight either. He's being stopped one way or another. Sanka Coffee: What is for you after the fight? Morton Masters: Well after I take this belt home with me I guess we see what the org has planned for me and the division. But anyone who wants a shot can take a shot. Sanka Coffee: You all heard it here first big things looking to go in the title fight. I'll be there cageside. Tune in next time to Cool Runnings MMA.
  7. I hope they have to fight over who gets stuck with me. Like no you take Ikki. No you take Ikki. No you take Ikki. Hey we are cool with fighting a man down. 😂 I mean they say there is a fine line between love and hate so. I'll count it as they love me, they love me, all the .... Love me.
  8. Hank McCoy: Appreciative bro and glad you are doing well. The management there is going to try and fast track me through the division there to get me to regular Gamma.
  9. Sanka Coffee: Feel the rhythm, feel the rhyme, get on up it's MMA time!!! I have a special guest for you today on Cool Runnings MMA, Olly Holy! Welcome Holy. Olly Holy:Thanks. Nice coffee Sanka Coffee: So your next opponent and first title defense is against Talon Cannonier. What do you think of your 2-0 opponent who is known for his wrestling and keeping the fight standing with it as he uses his cardio and range to out point fighters to some foolish looking unanimous decisions almost like a point karate fighter? And how do you see the fight going and any foreseeable problem areas? Olly Holy: We all have our individual uniquness and i am very much aware of mine. so all i will say is that it will be a fight worth while and the fans will be please. I am grounded with myself and in my oneness will the light of submission be unleashed to the force that will arise against me. Sanka Coffee: I understand that you have just received your black belt in BJJ probably making you the youngest and only black belt on the roster. Did your camp hold some sort of ceremony for you on receiving your black belt? How does it feel to finally get your black belt and achieving something you have been working so hard for, for so long? And what was bigger for you receiving your black belt in BJJ or getting the 185 pound belt and becoming the first ever Middleweight Champion at Big Wave MMA? Olly Holy: Mine oh! mine. we had the normal ceremony. but to me I know i am capable to archive a black belt and more so a red belt as long as i am willing to put in the work. i guess i did put in the work to earn the black belt.I am very much honored to be the first ever middleweight champion at Big Wave MMA. having the belt gave me more drive to continue to put in the hard work needed. I now have a bigger responsibility to keep the title and also be a good abasador for Big Wave MMA. sometime in life it is not what we archieved but the collaboration with our inner self. which mean being one with self. which i can proudly say I am with myself. Sanka Coffee: After your title defense what is next for you. Do you take some time off, get back in the gym, start getting ready for your next fight, and who do you think your next fight will be? Olly Holy: I don't do time off, it is traditional that i keep the work going, I look to better myself in all areas of life too, so there is not a things such as off lol! i am born to be ready at all time. at the moment i am not worried who my next opponet will be , I will rather focus on my training and keeping my mind in tune with positive energies as i allign with my inner self. Sanka Coffee: Well I'll be cageside at your title defense match. I'm looking forward to the fight. That's all the time we have for today. I'll see you next time on Cool Runnings MMA!
  10. Big Wave XVII: Preview If you are in Hawaii this Saturday you have to get on down to Wild Bob's Bar to see the Big Wave event which has Enrico Fermi who has been the longtime face of Big Wave defending his belt for the 3rd time. The first fight on the card is a heavyweight fight between Randyisio Tessino and Wilt Madison. This fight was suppose to be a Semifinals fight back in the heavyweight tournament. Tessino is 26 1-2 and a boxer with some takedown defense and a blue belt in BJJ. Madison is 26 1-2 and a wrestler and Muay Thai fighter. Expect to see the first fly for however long this heavyweight fight my last. The second fight on the card is a middleweight fight between El Monyo Salvador and Mark Boco. Salvador is 19 0-1 and one of the best wrestlers to come out of the Philippines. Since coming to Los Angeles to train he has worked diligently on his striking. And will be looking to show his improved striking game in this fight. Boco is 20 0-1 and will be making his Big Wave debute. His style is something you would commonly see in the Philippines and that is a Muay Thai style. Third fight on the card is a Light-Heavyweight fight between Celestyn Kluz and Mihael Kotar. Kluz is 19 2-2 is a Polish born kickboxer who has made himself into a well rounded fighter. He started off 0-2 and is on a 2 fight win streak making a run for the title. Kotar is 21 0-1 is a young talented wrestler with a blue belt in BJJ. First fight on the main card is a Welterweight bout between Akahoshi Hisashi and Lexus Chaos. Hisashi is one of the most well rounded fighters we have in the division at just 19 years old and with a 3-1 record. Chaos is 25 1-0 and is a boxer that has some grappling ability. Even though he has only had one fight he showed with a quick knock out he has some power and that his professional boxing record he had before coming to mma is no joke. The rest of the main card is all Heavyweight fights. But the next fight is between Bon Gamin and Furio Corleone. Gamin is 24 4-1 and is a boxer with tremendous power with all 4 of his wins coming by the way of KO in the first round. Corleone is 25 2-0 and is a boxer and wrestler in high school. His style so far has been to stay at range and point style box his opponents. The Co-Main Event is between Henrique Falcono and Alex Karelin. Falcono is 25 2-1 is a Muay Thai fighter and Greco Roman Wrestler. While losing his Big Wave debute his Muay Thai skills still have him highly touted. Karelin is 19 1-0 and is making his Big Wave debute. He was suppose to be an alternate in the Olympics for wrestling but Russia wasn't allowed to compete so he didn't go. He is an amateur Sambo champion as well. So expect him to not only be a strong wrestler but to have a good grappling game as well. Rumour has it the winner between this fight and the winner of the Gamin vs Corleone fight will face each other for the next challenger. The Main Event is between Enrico Fermi and Bradley Robertson. These two fought back in the semifinals of the heavyweight tournament and proof of their dominance they are meeting again to fight for the championship. Fermi is 26 5-0 and is no stranger to the fans nor the cages of Big Wave. And he has drowned everyone that has stood in front of him. Only one man has even lasted to the 2 minute mark against him. Robertson is 26 4-2 and is also no stranger to those around Big Wave. He started out on a quick rise to stardom and then got smacked around a bit and left his gym and found a new gym and management. And has since stringed together 2 more wins and being undefeated since the move to his new camp. And worked his way back up through the ranks and will be looking to get some revenge on Fermi. This fight here is worth the price of admission folks.
  11. Big Wave XVI Review: We had 627 fans in attendance. And was an event that had no fight of the night winner as no fight on the card had a fan appreciation value of at least 80% which is rare as you guys always bring it. But I know all of you will have the fans roaring for your fighters in their next outing. After this event we moved up 1 spot in the world rankings from 27 to 26th. We climbing for that top 20 spot. You guys rock. Keep climbing. We keep working our way up. And again not a big revenue win but we still broke positive again. So that's good. Can't wait for the day when we are selling 1k+ tickets then by math can afford to almost double pay. You all know that is the eventual plan to pay it forward to your fighters keeping my profit margin small and the bulk of the money going to the fighters. Now let's get on with the two fights that won a reward. Abasi Njagi and Zafir Farman the Co Main Event was the winner of Knock Out of the Night which probably already tells you who won that fight. The fight opened up with Farman faking to his left and unloading an uppercut on Njagi. Njagi missed a couple takedowns then Farman feints again and lands a jab to the body. Then Njagi walks right into another jab. Wow Farman showing his increase in that sweet science known as boxing with landing a beautiful 4 punch combination. Another failed takedown attempts from Njagi and Farman counters with an uppercut. He follows with a nice jab. Acknowledgement from Njagi on that one. Farman lands a counter on the button from Njagi's failed takedown attempts. And he is wobbly. Farman ducks down creating about an inch of space between his hand and the ground as he unloads upwards with an uppercut that lifts Njagi off his feet and the ref waves this one off. You winner by Knockout in the VERY FIRST Round Zafir Farman!!! The Main Event was the other winner of an award Submission of the Night. The fight was the 155 title fight between Jacob Handler and Kakashi Hataki. Should give away the winner but let's see how the fight went. The fight opens up with Handler missing a takedown. Not sure that's a good idea given Hataki being a grappling experts. Speaking of which Hataki counters with a right that lands right on the jaw of Handler. Handler lands a beautiful body shot on Hataki. Then some missing of strikes from both fighters. Handler lands a trip takedown into side control. Nicely done as he has a dominant position here. Hataki sneaks out the side and bucks Handler off! What he's got his back! Hataki is trying for a rear naked choke. Handler sees what he is trying here and defends it nicely and turns into Hataki is now in his guard. Nicely done there indeed. Hataki throws a leg up for a triangle fast. Handler isn't defending. Oh it's tight. Handler is tapping! You winner by submission in the VERY FIRST Round via triangle Kakashi Hataki!!!
  12. Slo Moegan: Ladies and gentlemen I give you the winner by unanimous decision Kaimana Makani!!! Kaimana Makani: Hey Slo. Slo Moegan: Tell us a little about the fight. Kaimana Makani: Yeah the fight kind of went the same way every round. I would get the takedown. Then miss and land some ground and pound. Try for a submission and advance position and for some reason the ref would still stand us back up and I would get the takedown and we would do the first part all over again. Then next round all the way through the 3 rounds. I thought for sure he would be easy on the ground but he had pretty good defense from ground and pound and submissions. Slo Moegan: So what is next for you? Kaimana Makani: Well like I said after my last fight I think I should be fighting for the belt. Slo Moegan: Well you have had 4 impressive straight victories in Heartless and would like to see it. Slo Moegan: Ladies and gentlemen I give you the winner in round 3 by TKO your new 135 pound champion William Jiminez!!! William Jiminez: Thanks Slo! Slo Moegan: How difficult was it to fight 10 minute rounds when you were use to 5 minute rounds? William Jiminez: Well I have really good cardio but 10 minute rounds are exhausting. I was even on top for most of those rounds and yet still by the end of each round I was exhausted and hoping it would be over soon. Slo Moegan: What do you think is next for you? William Jiminez: Well I just won the belt. My next fight will probably be against another grappling specialist. Just going to hope I can pull off the upset again. I myself felt like the underdog in this fight to be honest. I'm well rounded but when your best course of winning is where your opponent is strongest makes it a bit nerve racking but at the same makes you incredibly focused because you know a wrong move and the guy is tapping you out. Slo Moegan: Well you have definitely been flying through the ranks and calling your title fight and can't wait to see your next fight. You always bring the action.
  13. Slo Moegan: Ladies and gentlemen I give you the winner by submission in the VERY FIRST Round by triangle James Howlett!!! James Howlett: Hey Slo! Slo Moegan: What are you most happy about tonight getting another win, getting a submission win by a submission you haven't had in MMA yet, or calling the submission in the first? And did you ever feel in trouble when he reversed the situation and got on top? James Howlett: That's tough one but I would have to say getting a submission victory by a submission I haven't had yet. I don't end up on the bottom much so I don't get much of a chance to show I can submit you off my back as well. Though I'm sure being an Abu Dhabi Champion my opponents know I can do it, but knowing it and seeing it in a match are two different things. As far as ever feeling like I'm in trouble not for a second. There is a reason I didn't try and rush or take the position back I knew it was only a matter of time. Like the commentator said as soon as I threw my leg up for the triangle it was already too late it was tight instantly. And that's the thing there is huge levels to grappling and you take not even someone the level of black belt I am but just a black belt in general and take a blue belt most of the time as soon as that black belt sinks in a submission on a blue belt it's already to late for them to react. Slo Moegan: Well it was certainly a good display of your BJJ here tonight. What is next for you do you think? James Howlett: Well it depends I'd say despite still remaining the number 1 contender that I'm still a win away from challenging for the belt. So I would say maybe I face another grappler brought in from outside of Bellicose looking for that 200k pay day for finishing me on the ground and taking my crown, or maybe someone from a different division. As far as in Bellicose and the division I'd probably either be matched with Bollomard and give him his first loss and tap out the grappling specialist or get matched with Dunbar and tap him out. Slo Moegan: Well I know whatever the future holds for you I'm going to be enjoying calling the fight.
  14. James Howlett: He's tapping in the first.
  15. I don't test regularly and never test for a tournament. I roll with what I roll and let the chips fall where they may.
  16. Tournaments are good way to do that when just starting out. It's how I originally made a name for myself many many years ago when I just started the first time. Left the game twice for 1+ years each time before coming back.
  17. Sanka Coffee: I have a special show for you all listening in today's I have two guests, Kaimana Makani and William Jiminez. So feel the rhythm, feel the rhyme, get on up it's MMA time!! Kaimana Makani: Hi Sanka. William Jiminez: Hi Sanka. Sanka Coffee: So you both have a fight coming up Makani your fight is against 26 year old Alexander Morrison and Jiminez you have a title fight coming up against 26 year old Jake Wood, what do you two think of your opponents? Kaimana Makani: Well as you know I'm only 19 so there is definitely an age gap between the two of us. My striking is coming along and you will start to see me standing up and showing my prowess there as well but Morrison is one of the best boxers in the entire division with really good takedown defense and will definitely be a tough match for me but don't go looking for me to be showcasing my striking I have been working on against one of the best boxers in the entire division. That would just be asking for me to get picked apart where I'm currently at. William Jiminez: Well I'm 17 and yet still not the first time I have headlined a card here at Heartless, it is my first title match though. There is a huge gap in age, experience and skill in where this fight will definitely end up going. Wood is a dangerous grappling specialist with putting his brown belt in BJJ to good use amassing 5 submission victories. He will no doubt be my toughest opponent to date. Sanka Coffee: How do both of you see the fights going and your best chance of victory? Kaimana Makani: Well I could see him getting a Knockout but I think I win this one. And while he has great takedown defense Morrison has shown he has a weakness on the ground. My best bet is to take the fight to the ground and more than likely will be my ground and pound that gets the job done but he has been submitted twice so who knows maybe I get my first submission victory. William Jiminez: Well not only is it my first 5 round fight but also the rounds are 10 minutes and I know I could knock him out if the fight could stay on the feet, but while any other opponent I think I would destroy in this division on the feet I don't have enough confidence in my power to believe I could do so before he would be able to take me down and submit me. I see the fight going with him submitting me in the first round. Given that I can't stop him from taking me down before I could beat him on the feet my best chance of victory is to get the takedown first to be on top and easier position to defend against his submissions. Sanka Coffee: What do you think is next for you after your fight? Kaimana Makani: Well if I win here they got to give me a title shot. No way should they deny me if I get a win here. If I lose then I guess my next opponent would be whoever they match me up with. William Jiminez: Well if I was to win which I think is unlikely then what would be next for me would be to defend the belt. If I lose then there are several possible opponents for me to be matched up with as this division is pretty deep. Sanka Coffee: Well I wish you both luck on your match and will be watching.
  18. Sanka Coffee: Feel the rhythm, feel the rhyme, get on up it's MMA time!! I have a special guest James Howlett. James Howlett: Hey Sanka how has been it going? Sanka Coffee: Pretty good thanks. You have a fight coming up against Patrick Matthew. What do you think about the boxer and wrestler? James Howlett: Well he has some power winning most of his fights by KO and some decent wrestler. But he's pretty much like every fighter I have fought my entire career a striker with some wrestling. So he has the potential to knock me out. I don't have the greatest chin but given few have knocked me out though it's entirely weak either. Even though he is older then me he is a lesser experienced fighter. Something I'm finding more and more common these days given how young I was when I started. He is a good fighter with a chance but I think he just becomes another submission on my record. Sanka Coffee: You have been at this a while and a long time specialist and stayed among the top of your division what do you credit that to? James Howlett: Well I've always been the best BJJ guy in every room I have ever been in, but I've always worked hard at getting better and better at it anyways. When I decided to get into mma I knew every fight and every round starts on the feet so I knew I had to learn takedowns and in the gym I was invited to come teach BJJ at had classes for wrestling and judo and I took them both. So I credit getting to the top and staying there to my skills and work ethic in my specialty. Sanka Coffee: After this fight what is next for you James? James Howlett: Well as always the King of the Ground is always looking for the first man who can finish me on the ground. Aside from that I doubt a win against Matthew puts me back up for a title fight if Boonliang is still the champion. If not then it probably does. Even though I am the number 1 contender I don't see them placing me against him again until they have no choice and a 3 fight win streak then I don't think could deny it even with him having two wins over me. Sanka Coffee: Well the King is always pretty good at being logical about opponents and what's next. Look forward to seeing your next fight.
  19. Big Wave XVI: Semifinals Preview: This promises to be one heck of an event. We have the Semifinals on tap for you which is the Semifinals of the biggest tournament in Big Wave history full of lots young talent and future stars. And we also have the first title defense in 155 history. Don't let that start fool anyone as I'm proud of every fighter on the roster. Now if you find yourself in Hawaii on September 10th you should get a ticket for this stellar event. First fight of the evening is a 265 pound bout scheduled between Lorde Mannion and Asanoyama Hideki. Both of these young 265ers are no stranger to the Big Wave cage. Mannion is 19 2-1 and is as well rounded as anyone. He is prepared wherever the fight may go. Hideki is 18 0-1 and is a fellow well rounded fighters. Expect each one of these heavyweights to feel the other out and have a chess match style of fight. Second fight on the card is 170 pound bout between Henry Reichert and Mr Bean. Reichert is 25 0-2 and has a well rounded style. So far he hasn't had the best luck but he will be looking to turn that luck around in this fight. Bean is 19 and making his professional debute. Bean is a pure striker. Will he dominate on the feet or will he learn in mma you need some wrestling at least one way or another. Third fight on the card is a 265 pound bout between Nik Pappadopoulos and Yung Brady. Pappadopoulos is 26 2-2 and is a D2 collegiate champion wrestler. He has been using that to take opponents down and punish them with brutal ground and pound. Make no mistake he has a blue belt in bjj as he is learning that side of the ground game as well and has been working diligently since coming to mma on his striking. Brady is 19 1-1 and is a prolific striker. He has all the talent in the world in that area of the game. He has worked his way into a decent ground game to go with it. Final fight on the undercard is a 170 pound bout between Jay Read and Magomed Omarov. Read is 19 3-0 and has been a staple in the 170 division since day 1. A win here and there will be no denying him a shot at the first 170 championship belt. He has a tremendous skill in Muay Thai and his takedown defense has become some of the best in the division. Omarov is 18 and making his professional debute. Omarov has some of the most technical striking in the division. Don't count the newcomer out to pull off the upset. The first fight on the main card is a 145 pound fight between Diogo Martins and Thomas Dawson. Martins is 19 1-2 and is another fighter that has been here since day 1. As everyone knows Martins has some of the best striking in the division and has been rounding out his game. Dawson is 26 2-1 and is a boxer. A win here to either guy will put them up for a fight for first 145 champion. Second fight on the main card is one of the two Semifinal fights of the 135 pound tournament. It is between Joseph Kuruvila and Filip Yumashev. Kuruvila is 18 2-0 and has been working on his takedown defense and is one of the best Muay Thai fighters in the organization and has some major power behind his shots. Yumashev is 18 2-0 and is a fellow Muay Thai fighter but has decent wrestling to go along with it. He also has some powerful shots. Expect this one to be a toe to toe war. The Co-Main Event is also a Semifinals fight from the 135 pound tournament. This one is between Abasi Njagi and Zafir Farman. Njagi is 18 3-0 and came into this tournament as BJJ specialist with a brown belt in it. The belt is still brown but he has since become a decent wrestler and judo practitioner to help him get the fight where he loves it to be. Farman is 18 2-0 and is a Muay Thai specialist who has incredible takedown defense which he will need in this fight and has been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for his fight against Njagi. The Main Event is a 155 pound title match between the defending champion Jacob Handler and Kakashi Hataki. Handler is 19 3-0 and as everyone knows is a boxer and a wrestler. He has shown he has the cardio to go the championship rounds in his title match against Zapina. As he said in his interview Hataki is a good fighter but he has all the confidence in the world that he will be walking away with his belt still in hand. Hataki is 26 6-1 and is a grappler from the island that has turned into a well rounded fighters with the record to show it with 2 KOs, 2 Submissions, and 2 decisions. This title fight here alone is worth the price of admission.
  20. Big Wave XV Review: While we have been pulling in a tad over 600 as of late attendance had slacked off a bit for this one as we pulled in just 550 for this card. But we still had some good fights. If your fight isn't on the review then stop your opponent sooner and get an award or excite the crowd. As in Big Wave fashion we do our reviews in highlight reel fashion. What fights are going to be talked about? The ones where something exciting happened. The first fight we are going to talk about is card opener which got the fans in cheering in joy. I'm talking about our Knock Out of the Night winning fight between Jeffrey Thibodeaux and Arman Brown. Fight starts off with Brown rushing in and landing a nice head shot. Thibodeaux checks a leg kick. But brown lands with a follow up left to the chin. Brown feints and then lands a huge overhand right. Oh no Thibodeaux drops to the canvas. He barrel rolls backward and pushes off the cage springing back up to his feet. That's was a nice defensive agile maneuver. Thibodeaux still looks wobbly though. Brown throws a straight right and it goes right through Thibodeaux's hands and lands smoothly on the chin and he drops. Brown just walks away and that is all she wrote folks! Your winner by a walk off Knockout in the VERY FIRST Round Arman Brown!!! The second fight we are going to review is our Submission of the Night winning fight between Sophus Antias and Lysander Pollio. Fight opens up with Antias failing a takedown. Pollio lands a nice uppercut. Oooh that uppercut has cut Antias. Antias his Pollio with a left and circles away. Oooh now Poolio is cut as well. Antias bob's and weaves as he closes the distance and he changes levels and lands a takedown into side control. After some boring action the ref stands the fight back up. I for one am always against ref stand ups. If the guy can't get back to his feet or out of the situation you can't penalize the guy who worked for and earned an advantageous position. Antias lands a shot that glances off the side of Pollio's head. It looks like that has made the cut even worse. Pollio lands a takedown. What's this Antias has hold of Pollio's head. It looks like a guillotine attempt but he's in half guard and it's going to be hard to finish from there. What's this? Antias has slipped his leg out from between the legs of Pollio and has wrapped his legs around Pollio's back together and is pulling on the guillotine. Oh it's tight here folks. Pollio goes limp. Antias shoves Pollio off of him as the fight is over and jumps for joy. Your winner by submission via guillotine in the Very First Round Sophus Antias!!! The next and final fight to really review is the Fight of the Night winner between Kari Parisyen and Enokentiy Klimov. Parisyen walks into a jab right in the nose. He tries blinking to clear his vision as his eyes water. Klimov walks into a jab. It's beginning to look like we might be in for a brawl style of fight as they are just walking into each other's shots. Klimov with a jab. Parisyen with a hook. Oh they are trading shots a one from Klimov, a one from Parisyen, a left from Klimov, a left from Parisyen oh and that backs Klimov up and now a one two from Parisyen and it looks like Parisyen won that exchange. Then a bunch more back and forth for the rest of the round. The announcer says it's close but probably have it to Klimov. If I had to guess I would say for aggression as he was the one moving forward most of the time. But Parisyen was slightly getting the better of the exchanges. Second round starts out much like the first. And then all of a sudden Parisyen lands a big right hand that sends Klimov crashing to the floor. Klimov bounces right back to his feet. Parisyen lands a nice uppercut and that backs him up but Parisyen lands another shot and drops Klimov. Parisyen jumps on top of Klimov not giving him time to recover. Lands a few shots and the ref jumps in to save him. Your winner by TKO in the second round Kari Parisyen!!! And just a quick touch up on the Co-Main and Main event. Brenin Arthur won via submission with just 3 seconds left in the fight. It looks like he will end up getting his title shot. Lutalo Masamba made a massacre of Orvar Odd Lodinkinni as he made a Jackson Pollock painting out of Lodinkinni's face. The doctor had to step and declared that it was too dangerous to continue. Masamba becomes the first 305 champion.
  21. Hank McCoy: Just checking in with my old home. Just had my first fight since having left. Couldn't make it into Syn or Gamma yet and am at Gamma Contenders. Won in the first round via KO. Hoping to continue to move up the latter and show the world the quality of fighters that come out of Bellicose and hope my friends and brothers that I left behind are doing well and routing for me. Oh and see my bro Baby Thibs is the champ. Congrats bro I knew you could do it!
  22. Slo Moegan: Ladies and gentlemen your winner via decision Balthazar Bolleke!!! Now going over to talk to the former champ Ajin Heceda. Ajin Heceda: Hey Slo. Slo Moegan: So did you think you had it? Ajin Heceda: I did. First Round definitely in the bag and then I spent the majority of the second and third rounds on top controlling and trying to do things so I thought for sure I had it. Slo Moegan: Do you have any thing to say to your opponent? Ajin Heceda: I think I won but I let it go to decision and you fought a good fight so congratulations. Everyone give it up for the new champion Bolleke. Slo Moegan: So what is next? Ajin Heceda: Well I need to defend my 145 pound belt and then I'll be back for a fight at 155. In the meantime Bolleke like I said you fought a good fight and congrats but make no mistake keep my belt warm and safe and I do mean my belt as I will end up earning my right to fight for it again and take back what is mine, that I don't think I lost in the first place. Slo Moegan: Woah you folks heard it here first.
  23. Leeroy Brown: Hello to all you happening cats and foxy ladies tuning in out there to the baddest show hosted by your's truly the baddest man in the whole damn town show Leeroy Brown!! And I have a guy that has proven time and time again wherever he goes he is the baddest man being undefeated in multiple weight classes, say hello to Ajin Heceda!! Ajin Heceda: Hey Leeroy how's it going, and thank you for having me on your show. Leeroy Brown: Going good thanks for asking. You were undefeated in both the 145 and 155 in Sensei FC before they closed and then went to Prospect and have become the champion, defended the belts, and remained undefeated in both the 145 and 155 pound divisions there is that correct? Ajin Heceda: Yes it is I'm currently 7-0. Leeroy Brown: In less than a week you are defending your 155 belt for the second time and defending it against Balthazar Bolleke. What do you think about this opponent and how do you see it going? Ajin Heceda: Bolleke isn't the most deserving for the chance but he is among the top of the division, riding a 2 fight win streak, and his strengths and my strengths align. So skill wise he is a very capable fighter and much better than his 2-2 record says he is, but there are levels to this game and I think I have proven while our strengths align that I'm better at using my strengths. Bolleke is an extremely good wrestler and is a brown belt in BJJ. He uses his wrestling to get the takedowns and works in some ground and pound as he tries and looks for submissions. He also has been working on his striking for quite sometime, which is something I've only recently been working on. As far as how I see it going is him trying to strike a bit with me and me getting the takedown and work my way into a dominant position and eventually put this black belt in BJJ I just received on display and get the submission victory. Leeroy Brown: So what is next for you after the fight? Ajin Heceda: Well make no mistake I'm completely focused on this fight and not my next fight, but when you go back and forth between divisions defending your title you have some type of idea so it will be defending the 145 belt. Leeroy Brown: I get that a true warrior spirit to focus on your current opponent. But who do you think would be next at 145? Ajin Heceda: Well if I had to take a guess, I would say Ben Crispian and Abel Hug fight for the shot at my 145 title but that fight would need to happen soon as my next fight is there and no one else at the top has a win as I've just beat them. Leeroy Brown: Where do you see yourself? Ajin Heceda: Well on the p4p rankings I'm in the top 600 in the world and I aim to be higher. I'm selling out 2 thousand seat arenas consistently and this fight will be no different but hoping for my fights at least we start fighting at bigger venues to help me reach that faster. Also as my name and reputation grows I'm hoping that starts bringing some of the 145 and 155 pound fighters over from the far bigger roster organization for people getting into mma around the time I did and that is RISE. I'm better than all the 145 and 155 pound fighters over there as well and hopefully they want to try and prove themselves and come over to Prospect to face me. Leeroy Brown: There you all have it from the baddest man's mouth himself, Ajin Heceda. He has thoughts of defeat in his words nor his eyes. So get to that fight and watch him work.
  24. Big Wave MMA XV Preview: We just had an event and already as you walk around Hawaii and especially Hilo you can see posters for Big Wave MMA XV. If you are a tourist and curious about the event or getting tickets like the poster says online tickets are available, but you can ask virtually any native and they know where you can buy a ticket in person, the website to buy it on, and where Wild Bob's Bar is located. Because it is big in Hawaii and thanks to things like YouTube is starting to gain traction globally as well. If you go into a Nutritional Shaved Ice and picked up one of the pamphlets and opened it up it would read: The first fight on the card is a 185 pound bout between Rock Lee and Bobby Carthew. Lee is 18 years old and making his professional debute inside the cages of Big Wave. He is from Japan and is said to have a Karate style and is a highly touted young martial artists in Japan. When he signed to Big Wave he moved out to Las Vegas to train at Roosters Coop. Carthew as you know is also 18 0-1 and has already fought in Big Wave before. He has a Greco Roman Wrestling style and uses it to keep the fight on the feet as he has a decent mix bag of tricks in the striking game. The second fight on the card is a 265 pound clash between Sophus Antias and Lysander Pollio. Antias is 18 years old 4-0 and had made a splash on the regional scene before swimming the waves here and he swam to shore at a blistering pace using his bjj. He is a purple belt and has won all 4 fights by way of submission. Pollio is also 18 and is 2-1. He also had made a name for himself on the regional going 2-0 but drowned when he tried to swim our waves. He is a grappler that prioritizes his wrestling to his bjj. This has all the makings of good ground battle. The third fight on the card is a 185 pound fight between Rob Ross and Baki Hanma. Ross is 18 years old and making his professional debute inside the Big Wave cage. He was a grappler mixing his Judo skills and his bjj skills into a real threat, but since signing on the dotted line he has worked on his striking skills. Hanma is also 18 and making his professional debute inside the our cage. He is a BJJ specialist from Japan with a brown belt in it. He like Rock Lee also moved out to Las Vegas to train at Roosters Coop after signing with Big Wave. First fight on the main card is a 205 pound bout between Kari Parisyen and Enokentiy Klimov. Parisyen is 26 years old 1-2 and is on a 2 fight losing streak and will be looking to get back into the winning column. He is a tremendous boxer who has a bit of wrestling experience to keep the fight standing. He always is a punch away from ending a fight at any moment. Klimov is 19 years old 2-0. He is also one of the best boxers in the division and has been sharpening his striking tools to more than just punches and has been learning some ground skills as well. Second fight on the main card is a 185 pound fight between Neesum Mo and Rael Adesanya. Mo is 19 2-0 and one of the best strikers in the division. He is starting to come along with his takedown defense as it's vastly improving and a win here will certainly have him up for a title fight. Adesanya is 25 2-1 and making his Big Wave debute. He is coming off a loss on the regional scene. He has a Muay Thai style and a bit of jui jitsu to fall back on if need be. While only having had fought on the regional scene should prove to be a good test for Mo on being ready or not to fight for the title. The Co-Main event is a 205 pound clash between Brenin Arthur and Mma Jake. Which is a perfect Co-Main for this event as the winner of this fight should be facing who wins the title in the Main Event. Arthur is 26 2-0 and a true grappler. He hasn't wrestled since high school and his wrestling wrestling has looked good but a bit rusty and has bjj brown belt. Once the fight goes to the ground make no mistake he is as game as any fighter on the roster. Jake is 19 1-0 and is a stand out natural grappler. He was scouted by Shut Up and Train! in London to help teach wrestling and bjj classes. He packed up his stuff in Cleveland and moved across the pond. This should be a good chess match of ground skills. The Main Event is a 205 pound bout between Orvar Odd Lodinkinni and Lutalo Masamba for the very first ever 205 champion. Lodinkinni is 19 2-0 and one of most natural strikers we have had at Big Wave. His footwork and boxing is on point and his wrestling and takedown defense is vastly improved since his first fight at Big Wave as is his already prolific striking skills. Masamba is 19 3-0. His wrestling and takedown defense is some of the best in the division and had a few professional Muay Thai fights before switching to mma. It's no surprise he has been able to make opponents look foolish on the feet. This fight is not only for first 205 champion but also should pose as an action packed slug fest.
