  1. I remember someone talking about something similar to this in the past. I think there is some weird thing that was never fixed where fighters become incredibly inaccurate and ignore sliders if the opponent is rocked and is in the clinch. I don't know what triggers it though because it typically doesn't happen.
  2. I brought this up to Mike while the island season was still going. I think several other people brought the issue to Mike as well and some of the folks who have posted here have mentioned this exact issue in other threads. Mike doesn't seem to care even when we do the grunt work for him. Speaking of which, has he ever gotten back to you about the slew of fake accounts in Helsinki that were pushing the ID up?
  3. Is that to say that this is Mike creating these accounts to make the site look more active? That would explain being able to set the age to 39 on creation. If an org doesn't open soon, I'm inclined to think that either someone is deliberately trying to hurt the ID orgs or that there is some weird bot program making accounts.
  4. This will be an interesting final few weeks. It looks like Victor Slaughter and Alan Odrobny are going to win their respective leagues.
  5. Damn, Cruz lucked out with Dobson being horrifically injured. It's going to be difficult for Okino to qualify at this rate.
  6. I believe that is only a comparison between the fighter's KO power and the opponent's chin. I don't think that it factors in the damage vs. accuracy slider based on what I've seen, but I can't guarantee this.
  7. So many injured fighters going into the next round, (including me), and I get to fight the fresh fella.
  8. Good, good. Now I can take a little bit more of your money, Alfred. Or maybe you'll take mine...
  9. Will you offer odds for betting on these events? Either way, I hope to get a fighter in here at some point when my contracts are up. I've always liked working with you.
  10. I get interested in the betting aspect of this because it allows me to make predictions and is fun to do. I'm not really a smack talker, especially with games. I think the predictions for Group A are pretty solid and I'd agree with them. I think Group B is where things get messy and there are several fighters who are overestimated in that group. I think it would be a struggle for Okino, Dupont, Cruz or Dobson to do well in this group due to the amount of grapplers they have to contend with. Dupont doesn't look to be strong against BJJ guys. For Okino and Cruz, it will likely come down to whether they can secure top position in their fights. Dobson is a clinch fighter who will have to be worried about people pulling guard. He also performed poorly against Regis and Okino. Victor Slaughter is probably the best bet for Group B's winner, but Group B is a mess and it is very much up in the air. With Group A I see Daniel Bradshaw doing better than predicted. I wouldn't be surprised if Alan Odrobny secures second place, but we'll quickly find out based on how he does against Camara. I unfortunately don't have much to contribute to forum threads, but I do find the tournament very compelling.
  11. I've got a bad feeling about this round... I think we're going to see some early upsets. Or maybe I'll just steamroll my group. A boy can dream.
  12. I think this is a good suggestion for future tournaments. It still keeps the league format. We wouldn't be able to do it for this tournament though because everyone would have to agree to it and I'm sure someone would want to stick to the format they originally signed up for. I don't have a preference, but I think this is an interesting suggestion.
  13. I've seen a lot of conflicting opinions on injuries and I'm pretty unsure about this as well. From what I've seen, it looks like fighters lose energy faster during a fight when injured. Based on the results from this tournament, I am also under the impression that your fighter will perform worse and will be less aggressive while injured. For Okino's fight, I increased his aggression slider to try and compensate for this. I also increased his "Try Takedowns" slider because I was worried that he'd be easier to KO if he was hit. Honestly, in your position, I wouldn't worry about this injury too much. A loss won't hurt you and your next opponent is a clinch fighter. Avoid the clinch and you will take away a large portion of his offense.
  14. It might not be a lost cause yet. It looks like JT Rolli's manager lost VIP for a short time and was forced to release fighters. He might still pick Rolli back up... unlikely, but he might.
  15. Thanks Regis, you broke my hand! It looks like we will both go into the next fight compromised.
  16. Dupont looks to be a submission fighter, so I think that will raise Junior's chances a bit. As long as he can defend against submission attempts, he could reverse position and take the victory. I am also unsure of whether injuries are reset or not after a fight. I used to be under the impression that the injury was wiped after the fight, but this tournament has me thinking otherwise. I suppose Junior's fight will help to answer that question as well!
  17. Will Carlos Junior's injury have much influence on his next fight? I thought injuries just made you easier to TKO and caused you to lose energy faster? In a grappling exchange, I would think that this is his best match-up to be injured for.
  18. Great write ups as usual! Winning this tournament isn't going to be easy for any of us.
  19. Not that it matters to the guy who is running that gym, but how do negative finances work on the island? Would the negative balance just be taken out of your manager account at the end of the island season?
  20. Silver v. Alfalfa better not end in a draw. I want to see one of these guys get a win before this tournament is over and I don't think either one will be the favorite in their final match of the season.
  21. Not that it matters that much at this moment, but I think the time spent metric is off by about 10 minutes. Yataro's last fight entered the second round while Nukem has finished both of his opponents in the first.
  22. I think after this tournament is over, Zou Li needs to fight Ruud Huisbrink in a battle of the bleeders.
  23. So what you are asking is whether it is ok for someone to throw a fight basically? Specifically, if the person in question is telling the other manager how to beat their fighter? It seems like your post is suggesting a manager is using their own fighter as an example to teach someone else? If you pick up a free agent and the old manager tells your next opponent how to beat you, that kind of goes with the territory. I think that's a jerk move, but that's a risk you take.
  24. To be fair, it will already be difficult enough organizing the 12 team tournament.
  25. Mamado, I thought I left The Unit on good terms. But if someone wants to check our IPs, that's perfectly fine with me.
