  2. Bump! Added the latest news to the OP. We now have 6 Elite coaches, a healthy member base, sparring partners and dummies in all disciplines, and Double Elites coming soon! : -D
  3. Just a bump to note that I have changed the OP to reflect the most recent changes! Fifth Elite Coach, only $300, Ratio under 8.0!
  4. Fourth Elite coach added! Sponsorships still available! Come check us out!
  5. I thought about starting a TycoonCast at one point, but I'm afraid for now I'm stuck on a shitty old desktop and can't help. I would, however be interested in providing content.
  6. As before, I offer my personal testimony to the effect that Red Eye's new product is 155Q. The owner is my Alliance mate, and I know how much effort he put into getting the funds to research it.
  7. Hello people of TFL! You may have noticed I took over the Preview and Recap writing a while back, and now I'd like to invite you to participate. The write-ups I do could be greatly enhanced by some personal touches from the managers, so if you have anything to say about your upcoming fights, please bring it here and I may mention particularly heated or funny feuds in the promotional material. It's a fun way for you to inject some personality into your fighter and be involved in the storyline of the Org's divisions. : -)

    Minor Request

This is nothing important so I'm not begging for it now, but somewhere down the line do you think it will be possible for Gym Owners to change the order that the coaches appear on the Public page? It would just be very convenient to have all the coaches teaching one class right next to each other so you can choose who's class to join instead of having to scroll up and down, plus it would just look a lot cleaner. (Mostly this is just me being anal and it driving me nuts that I can't arrange my coaches by skill set)
  9. Thanks to everyone who joined in the first week! We rapidly got up to over 25 members, and so I added the second CT coach to keep class sizes reasonable. This coach comes with no price increase so we can continue to build the member base. If I see similar growth next week I'll be able to afford a second Wrestling coach for Takedowns to go with the current one teaching Takedown Defense, so tell your friends and we can keep growing quickly! : -) And remember that you can now get your first week at The Grow House for free! Just message me with your fighter's ID and join date and our Official Sponsor Red Eye Nutrition will hook you up with a generous $200 sponsorship! Be sure to check out The Red Eye for true Q155 Supps right here in St. P!
  10. I will ALWAYS hire True 150 Elite coaches. I am willing to provide screencaps to prove it. : -) This is what we feel as well, this gym is meant to nudge people into creating those fighters by ensuring there will be enough high quality gyms for their fighters. We will also continue to run tournaments with decent prizes to coax people in.
  11. Yeah, I don't know why but sometimes I just randomly can't post. It only happens here on Tycoon Forums though, weird. Anyway, included in the list of improvements was supposed to be the fact that I have indeed opened a gym to go with the one we already have there to ensure everyone there will be available spots in an Elite Gym when you create a fighter in St. Petersburg. http://www.mmatycoon.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=7456 I'll be adding coaches as fast as possible, I'm not really looking to make money with it, just wanted to run an elite gym. : -)
  12. http://www.mmatycoon.com/gympublic.php?gmid=586 Come get your fighters "Budding" at our Elite facility! Now featuring 6 150 Elite coaches, and Sparring Dummies in any discipline you chose available for daily sparring, and 1 on 1 sparring sessions to help get you ready for that big fight! For just $400/week you get access to all of this, with a ratio of about 8. (Remember there are multiple sparring dummies enrolled and counting toward the ratio, but not actually taking up class space) If we continue to see the kind of steady growth we have in the last few weeks, then we should start adding Double Elites within a couple of weeks! I'd like to remind everyone that there are still come $200 Sponsorships available to new members from our Official Sponsor The Red Eye, home of the Guaranteed Q155 Supplements right here in St. P! Get your first week Subsidized! I remain dedicated to turning this into a top level Elite Gym, and I hope the Tycoon population will start to view St. Petersburg as a viable city to create their fighter in. Below is a rundown of what the gym will (hopefully) ultimately look like, and what we have so far. Current Staff: 2 Circuit Training Coaches 2 Wrestling Coaches (One for TDs and one for TDD) 2 Muy Thai Coach (Kicks, Knees/ Elbows) Future Staff: 2 DGrap Coaches 2 Striking D Coaches 1 Full Triple Elite Clinch Coach 1 ??? I know this doesn't include Punch Technique or Sub O, but I think redundancy to ensure low class sizes is more valuable, and there are plenty of gyms that offer plenty of those classes, but fewer with dedicated MT staff. If I continue with this plan I should hopefully be able to offer everything you need to build up the vital secondary and physical skills by always having low class sizes in these foundational classes. I'd love to hear any input anyone has, and I'll update with promotions, announcements, progress updates, and polls regularly.
  13. For what it's worth I'll vouch for this as definitely 155 and not fake like some other St P Supps claimed to be top quality. We put a lot of work into making sure Red Eye had a true High Quality product for the St. P market. : -)
  14. If this is ever run The Ultimate Manager style with brand new fighters created just for the event I'd be all about it, but as a newer manager I'm to severely handicapped by not having veteran fighters yet.
  15. I'm currently trying to decide whether to switch from XBox to PS3 or not, and one of the issues under consideration is that I don't want to give up the XBox controllers. I've never had a problem with them, and they feel perfect in my hand. : -(
  16. http://www.mmatycoon.com/fighterprofilemanager.php?FID=32866 That's the first active fighter I ever had. He's had 3 fights and 3 TKOs from Clinch. Oh, and as posted above Respectable to Superb Striking D at the start will keep from getting KTFO'd, and yes using the clinch to avoid getting punched lots is a great strategy for GnP guys when they start out.
  17. As long as the myth that MT is useless persists, I will continue to get easy wins by beating boxers with solid clinchwork. Viva La VibeBox's School 'O Clinch-Him-to-Death!
  18. I think this is a step in the right direction for the terribly stagnant Supps market. Great move Mike! : -)
  19. After a couple of viewings I can definitely see how it was scored for Machida. I'm not saying it's right, just that I don't think it was a flagrant display of total incompetence anymore. (Though lord knows Peoples has had his share of those) If I had to score it myself it would look basically like the scores Mike posted in the OP. Round one and two really didn't have a winner, and overall I'm now pretty happy with the results because: 1. It pissed even the casual fans off, and possibly helped turn them against the awful Round by Round 10 Point Must scoring system. 2. It results in a rematch, and I am of the opinion that neither fighter really won the match. (though I would concede that Shogun came closer) 3. It results in a rematch! That was a seriously awesome fight, and I can't wait to see another where they both (hopefully) act like they have any intention of finishing the fight. 4. Shogun is fur reelz. I'll admit I had no confidence in him, but man was I wrong. He looked top notch.
  20. My project fighters in Hilo and St. P both got contract offers from this org. Either he's looking to waste money flying 0-0s in, or he's going to lose money signing newbs who don't know any better and just accept. Hope you got 10 Bucks man, cause you're about to lose VIP.
  21. We should make a Dan Dougherty and "Captain" Turner and make them fight to the death. I will be following the training of all the participants with pathetic levels of interest.
  22. I am NOT just bumping you because we're Alliance mates now. I genuinely like your designs man. Keep it up!
  23. A lot of people seem to be of the mind that CT is much better than Yoga. That's the only reason I am considering this, since otherwise I'd agree that super low cost with no coaches at all would be the way to go. I am also giving some thought as to whether to start in about a week, or wait until we know more about the Training changes. As of now I am inclined to give it some time.
  24. I was aware of the possibility this wasn't a new idea, and I'm fine with not being the first. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something and this was entirely a terrible idea. I am also aware I will not get rich doing this. As long as it breaks even or slightly positive it's fine with me. Your input was appreciated, thanks. : -)
  25. I've been thinking about opening a gym for a while now, and I just thought I'd run the concept by you guys on the forum to see what people think of it. I'm pretty new so I apologize if my reasoning is not in line with the actual environment of the game. From what I have seen there are basically 3 types of gyms. Private tiny gyms which do not factor into this decision, Elite gyms with small caps to keep classes low, and larger cheap gyms used for mainly Cardio and other initial training. My idea is to combine the small cap size of more elite gyms to keep very low class sizes, but keep a comparatively lower price by focusing on the kind of initial training that all fighters need. This way a manager who has at least some money (or a lot) can use it to get more specialized training than in larger gyms while saving money over the elite gyms. There isn't much need to pay the large fees of an elite gym for a fighter you just made if you're going to be doing mainly Cardio, Weights, and CT at first, but you want to ensure you can find a CT class with low class sizes. In the beginning the gym would look like this: Around $200 a week. <50 Member Cap. 2 Elite CT Coaches. Obviously always maintained as Pristine/Brand New Once the gym had filled and proved to be stable more would be added like possibly another CT coach or another pair of Elites to train just TDD, DGrap. (All things I've found I generally look to train off the bat depending on the build) I think this concept could actually be helped if the "Fighter Getting Bored" change Mike recently mentioned is put into place. If in the future you are no longer able to spam Cardio in the beginning this gym could give you the ability to have a varied schedule of Cardio/Weights along with always being able to get a low class size CT session. I think this might be a decent tool to have available to managers with some cash who'd like to save a little of it when training their new fighters, or newer managers looking to invest in making a well trained fighter as their top guy. I also believe after the initial hiring fees are paid off I could scale up while always assuring low class sizes by getting more coaches. So what do you guys think? Am I off base in thinking there could be a niche here? I'd appreciate if you took a minute to give your thoughts in addition to voting. : -)
