Mark McGregor looking to rebound from Loss, explains why he's been quiet for so long

Mark McGregor (Speaking on his blog):

For those wondering yes i am still alive. I was a bit disheartened by my last performance and disapointed in my showing and the commitment i showed coming into the fight. I lacked the mental fight going into the match up Tenryu and he beat me and deserved the win. But after the fight i had to take some time away to look into all aspects of my game.

That break has refreshed me and i returned to the gym stronger and more focused than before and i feel ready to come back and fight. I am not bothered who i fight i just want a fight and a chance to show that the Mark McGregor that beat Benjamin Foster is for real and that he can become one of the best Super-Heavyweights in the buisness and from now on, Win loss or draw i will put on a good showing

Tamana Hopoate has returned to Octagon Warriors Gym after taking a break in his home country and Tonga and spending a week in Bangkok training his Muay Thai, watching fights at Lumpinee and catching up with old friends. Tamana is trying not to run his mouth as much and is currently only communicating via twitter -

"I'll fight McGregor, seems JC is ducking me"

short and to the point, "Hoppa" could not be reached for further comment.

I would've taken this, but I've got my eyes set on Davies himself. Cant take time to break between now and then, if you had won the title you'd have been next in line for my vicious KO's, but unfortunately for me Davies won, and now I'll have to fight a real champ for the belt. :showoff:

PS you may have put him on his ass, but let's not forget he put you on ice with a single kick. :injured:

You'd be surprised, I cant speak for Trill himself but if there's one thing I've learned about him it's that he like's to stick to what he knows ;)

He tried to take Sagat down, but only because of his lacking clinch game and Sagat's decent one ;)

Daemon Davies 'could he..might he..pfft the sliders stay the same..im looking forward to showering the folks in the front row with your blood when i ram my fist thru your head..catch u showtime sucka'

Trill with a statement:

"You know, my manager does a lot of talking for me... What it comes down to is: What he says doesn't reflect who I am or how I feel. He's confident in me, and that's great, but his confidence won't win a fight for me, it won't fend off a submission, and it won't guarantee me a win. Guys like Daemon Davies and Mickey Mulligan go out there talkin' trash about all these other fighters, but that's not what it's about for me; it's not who I am. I know my manager would love to see me with a perfect record the entire way through, but the truth is... Everyone loses sometime. I'd love to be a loss on Davies belt. Do I think I could do it? Depends. I think I have as good a chance as any, but I'm not about to go making threats or calling someone else out based on my ego. I'm not just going to spout the first things that come to mind.

I choose my words as carefully as I choose my fights, and I believe every fighter -- win or lose -- deserves the same respect, because at the end of the day they're the ones who showed up, they're the ones who put their reputation on the line, and they're the ones who had the guts to go for what they dreamed of. Davies: I think you're top notch, I have nothing but respect for you, but the way you run your mouth... the way you seem to enjoy talking it up like it's a bloodsport... Well, it sickens me. I don't want to "beat you into a bloody pulp" or completely "dominate your ass". I want a win. I want 1 more W on my record, and I'll do what it takes to get there. If you beat me I'll train harder, and I'll come back again. The truth of the matter is I'm a contender. I'm a contender now, and I always will be. Whether it's myself or one of the many other talented fighters who fight with DIFO, you will someday lose that belt, and when you do no amount of trash talking will be able to bring it back.

I'm thankful for where I am, for who I train with, and for what I have. I don't let my record or my ego go to my head. I'll bring it all to the cage, and I'll leave it all in there when I'm done.

Respect to DIFO and all the fighters I have the privilage of training with."

Andrew Trill: Surprised you could hear that through the perma-ringing Davies so generously drilled in there for you.

In the off chance you don't catch the reference, I'm talking about that time you talked all that smack only to take a hard foot upside the head.

Two hits:

Davies hitting you.

You hitting the floor.

I've never disrespected an opponent, and as a result I've never lost. I believe in Zen, and I believe in God's grace. If you disrespect the higher being -- whomever or whatever it may be, embodied or not -- you will bring a negative force upon yourself.

The only balance between winning and losing is that which we create for ourselves; a want not to win, but to lose so that we may learn.

To put it in terms a layman terms (those in which you constantly speak): Shut your mouth now, or I'm gonna introduce your nose to your brain.

EDIT: Kaigax, if you would be so willing as to move back up to Super Heavyweight it would be an honor to be placed in the ring against you. Two masters from opposite sides of the spectrum, rolling dice for the highest save.

Andrew Trill thinks he can step into my cage. They call me the Dungeon Master for a reason. I set the DC. It doesn't matter how high you roll, I am going to modify your rolls all over your face. Heavyweight, Super Heavy, Lightweight, it doesn't matter. My trunks give me a +1 to balls, and my gloves a +2 to beating your ass.

Hello everyone, I am Damir Šomen, manager of Robert Liber. Robert recently for a Croatian TV house gave an interview, which I will present tonight. Thanks!

Full interview:

Journalist: Hello, I am Denis Guraga, with me tonight is Croatian MMA fighter Robert Liber.

Robert: Hello everyone!

Journalist: Robert, tell us what are your beginnings in MMA?

Robert: Well, when I was 9 years old Dad took me to karate. I practiced karate around 5 years, then I suddenly stopped. I did 2 years nothing worked, except during the summer a little water polo hehe. Then the winter came again, a friend to persuade me to train kickboxing. I started to train. Of course as you know I did not stand up fighter. My quality is BJJ. How do I become a BJJ fighter? After our training (kickboxing), was training Brazilian JJ. I looked a couple of times their training, and liked me. So I switched to BJJ.

Journalist: Interesting, but how you come to Japan and began to fight in MMA?

Robert: At a competition in Croatia, I won gold. After two days at our training came to a gentleman. First, he and my coach went to the trainer's office. And then they called me into his office. Man we are presented with words: I am Damir Šomen. It did not have all clearly. Then he told me that he watched the competition and that in me sees a lot of quality. He said: I am a manager in the world of MMA fighting. I wish that I and you do something on the MMA scene. I am immediately agreed. For a couple of days ago I signed the contract.

Journalist: But how did you come to Japan?

Robert: I did not immediately went to Japan, I first practiced in training camp by Damir Šomen, I had a kickboxing background, so that everything went very well. I had a couple of amateur fights with professional fighters from Europe. After these preparations, my manager is looking for a place where I will begin MMA career. And so I began a career in Tokyo, the MMA organization DIFO.

Journalist: How have you accustomed to Tokyo?

Robert: Excellent, Tokyo is beautiful, the people are friendly, and the food is very good.

Journalist: Well, you expect first fight under the auspices of MMA organizations DIFO. How do you feel?

Robert: I feel great. I already have two preparatory struggle here in Tokyo, in both I won. 1.8. the first fight in DIFO. I am fully ready to fight, after serious preparation, I will rest these few days.

Journalist: And what then, what are your plans for the future?

Robert: Every fighter dreams to be the best, to win a belt, I have to do three fights, I want to win in each. I do not know when I will get the chance to fight for the belt, I know that it certainly will not be in the first two fights, or even a third, but I do not think much about it. After these three fights thus lengthening the contract. Now just think about the fight with Daquan Battle.

Juornalist: I wish you much luck in the future career. It's a very pleasant conversation. I hope to interview you next time with a belt around the waist. Thank you.

Robert: Thank you Denis. Goodbye.

I've spoken to Manu about setting up a fight between yourself and my fighter, Trill.

A fighter built around BJJ with not a single submission victory to date (with your only REAL win coming from a Knockout). You expect to go up against a fighter who's won every fight by knockout, and not been even controlled on the ground by a single opponent thus far? (including Muay Thai and submission specialists)

Let's see how well this plays out.

Trill may not be one for talking smack, but I'm hoping as his manager, and as a fan of the sport, that he can smack you right into retirement ;)

Herval Coutinho gets interviewd by a brazilian MMA site and says:

''Janoo is a lucky bastard!!! With only 5 second he landed some LUCKY punch, and knocked me out. He didn't proved anything, I'm better than him, and I'm gonna show him that if the DIFO gives me a rematch. I want this guy, and after I beat him up, I'm gonna make my way to the title!!!!!

When Ryan Delman and I sat down with Manu to go over getting a contract and a fight signed, the first thing Manu said was, “Wow, you’re a little guy! You know this is Super Heavyweight and Heavyweight land, right?” For those who may not know, Delman is a buck ninety soaking wet. So Delman says, “I’m big where it counts!” Manu laughed at this and said “well who are you looking to fight?” Delman replies, “I want the biggest and dumbest SOB you got!” Manu goes through some files on his desk, murmuring to himself. After a minute or so he says, “Well he isn’t the biggest guy we have, but he sure is the dumbest!” Delman doesn’t hesitate signing the contract to fight Dave Ruttijn. When we go to leave Manu’s office, Delman turns and says, “Tell that big dumb SOB that I may be giving up a hundred pounds, but I am still going to whip that ass!”

Foster resigns with D.I.F.O and plans to participate in it's newly formed Heavyweight division

Reporter: a lot of big changes for you Benjamin. You were rewarded with a new contract from D.I.F.O, have been invited to train at the prestigious Damage Inc. training facility, and you are also dropping down to heavyweight.

Foster: Yea i've never really had proper training since coming to D.I.F.O this should definately give me an edge I never had before, plus I still have these heavy hands *kisses fist*.

Reporter: You had some nice victories in D.I.F.O's superheavyweight division despite your struggles. Most memorable probably being your 1st round KO of Tommy John. What made you decide to drop down to heavyweight?

Foster: I need to reinvent myself and D.I.F.O needs exciting talent in their heavyweight division, it seemed like a natural fit. Manu Bradcock has always treated me well and in exchange I fight for him anytime and anywhere.

Reporter: Do you think you can make a run at the title?

Foster: Of course, I was on the verge of a title shot at super heavyweight 2 times despite being undersized and having poor training. The Japanese people love me also, I wouldn't be surprised if they beg Manu to give me a shot after my first victory at heavyweight. I'm going to train for 2-3 weeks and then make my debut.

Reporter: Any interesting match ups at heavyweight?

Foster: I would like to fight Bob Ziggy. I'll show him what a real Jamaican striker looks like. I'm always open to a rematch with Tommy John, if he wants to move down to heavyweight. I doubt he has the courage though, he still has nightmares about the beat down I gave him last time we fought.

Adam 'Murder' Mirovic has some bad news for Benjamin Foster -

"Foster, if you think you're going to have the Heavyweight Division title scene to yourself, you're seriously misguided. I got straight back into the gym at Octagon Warriors Elite MMA and changed up my diet plan after our last fight. You remember that fight don't you? The one where you tapped before I dislocated your elbow? Well I'm training and eating differently to drop down to Heavyweight as well, so I guess I'll see you there.

It might take me a few weeks to drop back to the correct weight but I'll see you in the Heavyweight Division sooner rather than later.

Remember, the answer to "Who wants some?" Will ALWAYS be Adam 'Murder' Mirovic - one of The Original Elite"

I haven't confirmed this with Gary, but I'm pretty sure we'll take the fight. He's busy with a Battletech campaign and hates to be disturbed. Kaigax likes to keep people guessing. How do you gameplan for a guy that has deadly fists and an unknown ground game?

If you get lucky, you'll crit fail right into a double KO.
