*Eaton Cox finally called me after being back in Las Vegas for a month. The final fight of his

World Tour is in 5 days at MIFC. After this fight, he will be the first fighter to fight in all

12 cities. He asked me to meet him at Cili Restaurant in the famed Bali Hai Golf Club for the

last interview of the tour.

When I arrived, I received the same classy service as the last time i was there. This place was

incredible to say the least. I was escorted to Cox's private table and was surprised to see the

legendary Johnny Cage and newly resurrected Tito Hopkins with him.

After a quick handshake, I sat down and ordered. After I ate a bit, we got down to business.*

Reporter: "So you're back in Vegas. You've been here almost a month now, what have you been up to?"

Cox: "Yeah, sorry about that. I should have called you but I really needed to spend some time with

my wife and son. I really only got to see them a few times while on the road. I mean, I loved bein'

out there n' all but if there was one thing I didn't enjoy about the tour, it was bein' away from my

friends n' family."

Reporter: "That's understandable. I've read numerous interviews with rock bands that say the same

thing. It's gotta be tough. Speaking of tough, I understand that JBomb and Buck Norris have parted

ways?"

Cox: "You heard correct and yes, it is tough too. Buck is such a good friend n' our captain. The

team is gonna miss him for sure. Obviously, I wish they could've worked it out but that's the nature

of the business. Now I gotta pick it all up. I'm not real thrilled with that but I'll do what needs

to be done."

Reporter: "So you're the captain now?"

Cox: "Yeah...whatcha think of that Tito?"

Hopkins: "It's cool with me. I have total con..."...*cell phone rings*..."Sorry, I gotta

take this."...*answers his phone and leaves the table*...

Reporter: "How has Tito been doing now that he's with you guys?"

Cox: "He's been doin' real good. He got that first win with the new team n' did surprisingly well

for how much time he missed. It was pretty impressive."

Reporter: "Yes it was, but I mean...do you all get along alright?"

Cox: "Oh yeah. Ain't no problem at all, even he n' Rolen are all good. He's a bit more on the

sophisticated side than most of the younger guys but I think that helps bring a certain amount of

professionalism to the team. Not that we needed it or anythin' but some of the guys are...a bit

rough around the edges."

Cage: "That's no lie."

...*laughter from Cox and Cage*...

Cox: "Well, we can't all be like the almighty Johnny Cage now, can we?"

Cage: "Absolutely not!"

...*more laughter*...

Reporter: "So Eaton, who do you fight next?"

Cox: "Ronald Wright."

Reporter: "Who?"

Cage: "Who?"

Cox: "I know...but the dude really wanted the fight n' he was available. He looks real good on tape,

too. He's got some serious skill, he just ain't fought a whole lot of the upper-tier guys yet. It would be

a huge win if he pulled it off but I ain't gonna let that happen."

Cage: "You better hope not."

Cox: "What's that supposed to mean?"

Cage: "Nothing, just telling it like it is. If this guy beats you, there's no one to blame but you."

Reporter: "So Ronald Wright wants to beat Cox."

Cage: "Who doesn't want to beat Cox?"

...*Tito Hopkins walks back and sits down*...

Hopkins: "I don't want to beat Cox."

...*the whole table erupts with laughter*...

Hopkins: "What'd I say?"

...*two beautiful women walk up to the table and one of them hands Johnny Cage a napkin*...

Cage: "Well fellas, I gotta...go to the restr...I'll be right back."

...*Cage leaves the table*...

Hopkins: "God, he has a hard life huh?"

Cox: "Lucky bastard."

Reporter: "Eaton, how does it feel to be on the brink of history? Becoming the first MMA fighter to

fight in all 12 cities is a pretty tall order."

Cox: "In all honesty, I can't wait for it to be over. There's a lot of hard work, travel and pressure

involved...but it'll be all worth it when I get in that cage on Monday night."

Hopkins: "You mean, 'when you get out of that cage on Monday night'."

Cox: "Yeah, yeah...true. It ain't over 'til it's over."

Reporter: "So what are your plans for after the tour? Where are you going to sign?"

Cox: "I'm not entirely set on it but I've been thinkin' about signin' over at BFC in Hilo.

Reporter: "Blitzkrieg huh? Why Hilo?"

Cox: "Well, they got the best Welterweight division in the world n' I really liked fighting there. The

only problem I have with it is the travel but that ain't like flyin' from city to city. You fly, fight n' fly

back home. That's easy, but like I said, I'm still mullin' it over."

Reporter: "Blitzkrieg does have some Welterweight monsters. Any other hopefuls?"

Cox: "I wouldn't mind goin' back to New York. Maybe COV NYLA? I wouldn't mind doin' another small stint

in Rio or Sydney either. ONI n' DIFO out in Tokyo are in the mix too. There's a lot to look into...but as of

right now, I'm definitely leanin' towards Hilo."

Hopkins: "COV NYLA ain't no joke, bro. They got some pretty nasty Welterweights too."

Cox: "They do. So do a lot of other places. I think first on the list is get this last fight out of

the way, then get some trainin' time in since I've lost so much while on the road n' then weigh it all out.

I don't want to make a bad move but I can't be homeless anymore. That's just too much."

Reporter: "Tell me some more about this Ronald Wright."

Cox: "He's an awesome striker that's here in Vegas, although he's originally from Chicago. My man, Eric

Osiris' older brother Ray knows him from way back. He's only lost three fights, two by tapout but one of them

was real early in his career, his first fight actually. He has developed a decent ground game since then so I

gotta be careful.

He was on an eight fight win streak until he took a loss in his biggest fight to date, a decision to Brian

Alves, but he bounced right back with a big win over Frank Mia. Tom Svenn tapped him out in the next fight but

then he comes back with another win. Hopefully, his 'win, lose, win, lose' holds up n' he takes a loss

to me, hahaha."

Hopkins: "Dude can flat out fight so don't underestimate him."

Cox: "I never do. Sal Pacino makes damn sure that I don't. In Sal's eyes, everyone can beat me, everyone

should beat me n' everyone will beat me. That's what keeps me on my toes."

Hopkins: "That sounds like a lot of people beating Cox."

...*laughter all around*...

Reporter: "Well guys, thanks for the meal and the talk. I better head out."

Cox: "We'll roll out with ya."

Hopkins: "Yeah, time to get going."

*As we made our way through the restaurant, we ran into Johnny Cage. I'm not sure how but I had

forgotten that he was here. He seemed like he was in a hurry to get back to the table.*

Cage: "Hey guys, what's up?"

Cox: "We're takin' off. The hell happened to you?"

Cage: "I uh...bumped into an old...friend. Someone I haven't seen in awhile so...well...you know

how it is, bro."

Cox: "Yeah, I guess I do...wait, no...no I don't. Why don't you tell us?"

Cage: "Well..."

Hopkins: "You got some lipstick on your collar dude."

Cage: "Damn. I'll be right back. Actually, where you headed? I'll meet you there."

Cox: "I don't know. Let's head over to Spearmint Rhino."

Cage: "Alright, meet me there in an hour or so."

Cox: "Cool."

Reporter: "Thanks again guys."

Cox: "You want to come with?"

Reporter: "That would be a bad idea."

Cox: "Alright, later man."

Reporter: "Later. Good luck on Monday."

"Winky" Wright recently sat down with Sherdog's Jordan Breen for an interview for his fight with Eaton Cox

http://prommanow.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/07/jordan-breen-258x200.jpg

Breen: How are you today, Winky. Should I call you Winky or Ronald.

Wright: I'm good Eaton, and you can call me Winky.

Breen: I'm Jordan Breen, not Eaton Cox, Winky.

Wright: You sure? Could've fooled me. You look like your name should be Eaton Cox.

Breen: HAHA, Very funny! Now can we get back to the interview?

Wright: Calm down Breen. I'm just pulling your chain.

Breen" Tell us about yourself Winky. Not a lot of people maybe be familiar with you.

Wright: I'll tell you about me Jordan. Fighting is my life. I fight to be the best and fight the best. That is why I asked for a shot at Eaton. He is one of the best. He is known all over the globe, he is highly ranked at our weight, and has fought in all the major orgs. I've fought in the second biggest orgs. in LA and LV. Now it is my time! I plan on beating Eaton and then moving to one of the major orgs. to prove myself.

Breen: I hear you abandoned a promising boxing careerto join MMA.

Wright: That is true. I think MMA is the real warriors sport. I was arrogant at first and thought my boxing would get me through, but now I've seen the light and my ground game is for real.

Breen: So, you have boxing and jiu jitsu. Not a bad combination.

Wright: Oh I got more than that. You better believe that! Ask Tormento about my kicks. He got a taste of enough of them to know all about them. I hear his ribs are still healing as we speak.

Breen: Wow, Kickboxing and BJJ! Not to shabby!

Wright: Oh that isn't all. I am a total fighter. I'll tear a mother f*cker up on the feet from the outside, in the clinch, and now on the ground too. I am the total package.

Breen: Sounds like Eaton has his work cut out for him. How have you been preparing for this big fight with Cox?

Wright: I can't exactly give away my whole game plan, but I will say that I've got a couple new weapons in my game now. My jiu jitsu belt ain't just for show anymore. I've been workin those submissions for months now with my lead BJJ trainer Rolls Gracie and the crew at his gym.

Breen: Preparing for Cox's ground game huh?

Wright: Of course I've prepared! You think he is going to stand with me? HA! His name is Eaton Cox, not Eaton Canvas! He isn't that dumb!

Breen: Big words for such a big fight! Cox has never been KOed in 20 fights. You think you are the one to do it.

Wright: My TOTT reads out big right hand for a reason. I've got serious power!

Breen: I hear rumor that you're a pretty smart guy too. I hear your I.Q. is 145! Any truth to that?

Wright: Yeah, well, before fighting I did turn down some Ivy League Scholarships.

Breen: How do you predict this fight goes?

Wright: I think Cox will come prepared. I expect nothing less. He is well rounded and has won fights in a very balanced way. So, I've prepared for all possibilities. I expect Cox to come out wanting to get me down. Cox has some good stand up, but he doen't have stand up like I have. I wouldn't be suprised to see Cox walk into my power early trying to get me down, but I also wouldn't be suprised if he hung tough all five rounds. I wouldn't rule out me suprising him with a sub either. I've been looking slick on the ground.

Breen: Is there any last thing you would like to say to Cox?

Wright: I'm going to ruin your homecoming! You should have stayed on the road! You will see that a lot has changed since you left. You will be my message to the rest of the city..... I run Vegas now!

Fight #11 - THE HOMECOMING

http://www.mmatycoon.com/fightcommentary.php?FTID=285719

Ladies and gentlemen, after 5 rounds of action, we go to the scorecards for a decision.

Judge Gwen Towbar scores the fight 50:45

Judge Cecil Peabody scores the fight 50:45

Judge Tiny Johnson scores the fight 50:45

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Eaton Cox!

...*Cox shakes hands with a disappointed Wright*...

Commentator: "Ladies and gentlemen, the first man to fight in all twelve cities...Eaton Cox!"

...*massive applause*...

Commentator: "Eaton, the tour is finally over, you've made history and to end it with a win in your

homecoming...this just has to feel great."

Cox: "It absolutely does...WHAT'S UP LAS VEGAS!? It's great to be home!"

...*more applause*...

Commentator: "Now Eaton, you dominated Wright with your wrestling tonight. It seemed you could just

take him down at will and you were very active on the ground with the Jiu-Jitsu as well. Was this

due to his superior striking ability?"

Cox: "It sure was, but I thought I did pretty well standin' up too. He's definitely a helluva fighter."

Commentator: "You had a lot to lose coming into this fight and Wright had everything to gain. Was that

tough to deal with...mentally?"

Cox: "A little bit. His skills are outstandin' n' downright scary, but what scared me the most was what

was on the line for him. He's a hungry fighter n' would've shot up the ranks had he won."

Commentator: "How does 'The first man to fight in all 12 cities' sound right now?"

Cox: Awesome...just awesome. To set a goal as lofty n' painstakin' as that, n' then actually achieve it

is so rewardin', man. I can't thank all those who helped along the way. You know I love ya."

Commentator: "What's next for you? Where do you go from here?"

Cox: "Well, I been thinkin' 'bout this for the last few weeks n' haven't got anythin' official yet but

if you wanna be the best, you gotta go fight the best...so I'm headin' to BFC out in Hilo, man."

Commentator: "Blitzkrieg?"

Cox: "You heard it here first. Thanks to Winky n' Bank for takin' the fight n' helpin' make the dream come

true. Thanks to all my sponsors n' alliancemates, all the friends along the way n' most of all...all the

badass fans around the world that came out n' supported!"

...*massive applause*...

Cox: "COX JUST ROCKED THE WORLD!"

...*the crowd erupts as Eaton Cox exits the cage*...
