Guest
What is the effect of leg kicks in the game? In real life they are used to slow down your opponent's footwork, disrupt his base, distract him and maybe even get a TKO due to leg damage. In this game i have yet to notice any effect from it. I have seen one fight, when a fighter landed over 50 leg kicks only to be punched out afterwards. So, have you seen any effect from leg kicks? Links to fights, if you can. Similar question about submission counters - has anyone seen one? Is it a nice tactic to try?
Guest
There's doesn't seem to be submission counters, you either stop the attempt or don't and sometimes wind up in better position for stopping it and leg kicks? Darren Smith (My fighter) vs. Lyoto Machida http://www.mmatycoon.com/fightcommentary.php?FTID=19220 - Tore his legs up and took him down for the finish after a leg kick. MMATycoon
There are submission counters - both in terms of you countering someone doing a sub attempt and also you doing a submission as a counter off something your opponent does. The only thing that you can't counter with a sub, is another sub, if that makes sense As for leg kicks, they do take off a lot of energy but energy in general is something I need to have a look at when I get a good amount of time (after bookies come out), as it doesn't work as well as it could in general. But wait, he's turned the tap into a counter sub and has got Y locked in a choke!"

Cause you can still have the energy to fight, but lack the agility and speed to use your skills effectively which was what happened to Rampage against Forrest. thisGuy
MAybe throw a knee bar from half guard top. It could be some thing new for the fight engine

Yeah, kind of by proxy that's what it means. "Energy" in the form of the fight engine basically means "being slowed down". So they slow down in terms of attacks they can do and also their ability to get out of the way of other people's attacks. So we could make it a separate variable but it would do essentially the same thing.

I have a fight coming up - my guy has a good submission game, and his opponent is a gnp specialist. So, i'll set grappling to 80% counter and top/bottom somewhere around 70% in favor of fighting from his back. In his previous fights my opponent had thown dozens of gnp attacks, so he will probably give me many chances. I'll report back in a few days...
