Returning Old-timer

Hi all

I haven't played for years but thought I'd give Tycoon another go. Any tips for a manager who hasn't played for a while? Especially what the current thinking is regarding creating new 18 year old fighters, start as specialists and train the rest up or start all rounded? Crappy cardio to start with and train the crap out of it before starting the fight career? What's the best way to judge a fighters learning speed hidden these days?

Also are there any half-decent gyms around for managers/fighters with low cash?

Cheers :-)

Welcome back :)

Always good to see a returning player. Personally I always start of with high conditioning and sometimes switch it up between well balance and specialist fighters. Many managers use the grease monkey script to see how much of a quick learner their fighters are.

If you need a link to these scripts here's one - http://www.tycoontoo...reasemonkey.php

Half decent gyms, well I'd have to recommend my own gym Team Finland if you're searching for a good quality public gym but there's a couple other good public gyms otherwise you could go in search of a private gym. My gym's usually quite popular but there's one space free atm if you wish to join it, be quick though because it's usually at full capacity :P

Whoops just made a Helsinki fighter but didn't see the price tag on your gym :rolling:

I gave away all my cash when I left so might find a cheaper one for now :)

Thanks for the advice guys

I tried the greasemonkey thing and all I got was a lot of text. How are you supposed to use it?

you install the greasemonkey script into mozilla (best browser for it) then download the listed scripts, once those scripts are done, activate them in greasemonkey and you should be good to go.

I suppose I've done pretty well in this game, and what I find far more important than learning speed (although I always take quick learning as a hidden) are the other hiddens your fighter gets. If you want a good fighter than what you want more than anything else is a granite chin, doesn't cut, heart, and after that it all falls into place. If you want to know what random hidden you might have I recommend having a fight before you have attributes over 12. Then you can see what they say about your fighter. Granite chin, big heart, confident, or the kiss of death being cuts easily. As far as training... I tend to always start my guys off with low cardio and high agility and balance. After that I do a ton of circuit training with appropriate rest periods so they don't get under 85 percent energy. I agree with a previous post on this thread talking about having a decent amount of your points into boxing.

Cheers, some good advice, pretty much in line with the way I used to make my fighters back in the day :-) My main flaw back then was to try and stick to even the most flawed fighters, hence my record :rolling:

Thanks to the generosity of Chuck I'll be able to get some guys going and see how they do, and build up from there.

Welcome back!

I'm also a returning member. Haven't played in maybe a year. Is there any way to find if any of my previous fighters are still around and being managed by someone else?

I can't remember any of their names but I do remember my manager ID from the first time I played. I'd be very curious to see if any of my old fighters turned out OK.

If the name is changed you probably will not find them. I could get a track of few of my fighter by finding their opponents or orgs where they where fighting but winth this new feature where you can change names on fighters its hard to find them.
