Hakeem Ali "I have a lot to prove in this fight. As I am still a bottom man in this division. So i hope to even out the my record and get a 2nd win. I have been working on my ground game a bit so hopefully no matter where this goes I will be ready"

Superfight Or Superdud?

http://newtrail.ualberta.ca/-/media/newtrail/images/alumniaskedanswered/natashastanizewski300.gif?w=480

Welcome To The BSPN Update

Hello there, I'm Natasha Romanko with your BSPN update.

Just this past week, there had been speculation of a possible "Superfight" between former Welterweight Champion, Christopher "The Wolf" Newton and LightHeavyweight contender, Adrien "Leao" Silva. With the recent leak of information to the public, many BFC stars have voiced their displeasure towards this so called "Superfight." Many feel that this is not worthy of such a title, due to the fact that both stars have yet to be tested among MMA's best. Newly Middleweight #1 contender Abraham Kurse was seen saying the following,

Kurse: "Superfight? You have a guy that held the welterweight title for a little while face a light heavyweight that has never even been close of a title shot and call it a superfight? People are way out of their heads..."

Top Manager, Sir Castor Rollins, was seen clearly mocking the two fighters. Stating them as "Supercans." When a interviewer approached Castor and asked his thoughts about the Superfight he replied by saying "What Superfight?"

It has been utter chaos recently due to these news. Even the ultra classy former champ, Newton, lost his cool. His twitter account blew up after these homophobic slurs were made towards Sir Castor,

Newton: "Hey fa**ot, why don't you keep your mouth shut"

Newton immediately apologized after his tweet got deleted, Stating the following, "I would like to apologise to all my fans and all those affected from my inconsiderate usage of words. I have nothing against the gay community, and I am very appreciate of all of my supporters no matter the sexual orientation."

There hasn't been this much animosity since Castor initially entered the BFC. The majority of fans will feel that some comments made by fighters have been childish, but make no mistake about it... this is definitely an exciting and entertaining time in Barbarian. The "Superfight" has yet to be confirmed but both Netwon and Silva have verbally agreed to fight each other. BFC owner, Pedro Fernandes, has said "We need to see roughly where Adrien's weight will be at. Then and only then can we determine a date." Regardless of what people think, this will be a thrilling match-up between two popular BFC fighters. Only time will tell whether this will be worthy of the title... Superfight.

I'm your host Natasha Romanko and this is BSPN update. Good night folks.

Hahaha, other than that is looks good! My talent in life is pointing mistakes and wrong things out, leads me to become somewhat of a negative positive person, comes across kinda patronozing but I work with children so I guess thats part of my life now..

You work with kids? That explains your avatar :D

Dobom improving his ground skills, was able to stay half the fight on the ground against a better wrestler and got the win.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3 rounds of action, we go to the scorecards for a decision.
Judge Edson Gomes scores the fight 25:30
Judge Leandro Rodrigues scores the fight 25:30
Judge Matheus Silva scores the fight 25:30

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Brahma Cervejinha!

oh god that was a massacre. that guy took a lot of knee to the head, what a hard chin

Barbarian FC 20!

Another great event here guys, unfortunately I won't be able to bet yet again because of the circumstances writing this preview. I'm currently without internet yet again and writing this on wordpad (because I dont have word) and using the data on my phone to look at the fighters to write this.

Lets get into it.

Meat Chris (2-1) vs Johny Silver (2-2)

This is a Muay Thai vs Boxer match up. Meat Chris is the Muay Thai specialist with one win coming by TKO and the other coming by decision over lightweight veteran Diego Rios. Silver is the boxing specialist here with 2 wins, 1 by TKO and 1 by decision. Just like Chris. Chris has already shown he can hang in with excellent boxers like Rios but Silver has shown to be weak to muay thai by being knocked out by Kanchai Suya via headkick.

Chris decision

Alex Savio Sanchez (2-1) vs Caique Mafra (2-1)

Unlike the first match on this event, this is a grappling match but who will come out on top? The older wrestler purple belt Sanchez or the younger one dimensional Mafra? Sanchez is a good wrestler with a purple belt in BJJ. He has two wins by submission. Mafra relies solely on his brown belt in BJJ and also has two wins by submission. If Sanchez is smart he can lay and pray on Mafra for three rounds however if Mafra gets on top by a sweep or takedown Sanchez will have the advantage.

Mafra 2nd round sub

Raise Hell (1-0) vs Roberto Nascimento (1-0)

This is a great fight for young fighters with lots of prospect. Raise Hell is a very well rounded fighter with good boxing, muay thai. Excellent wrestling and a purple belt in BJJ. Roberto Nascimento lacks on the boxing but makes up for in with very good Muay Thai. Hell has the wrestling advantage but they both share the purple belt in BJJ. I like this fight because it can be unpredictable, Hell may look to use his boxing advantage or his wrestling advantage so he could come to fight with two vastly different gameplans. I'm quite sure Roberto will use his Muay Thai to try and outstrike Hell. If Hell is intelligent, he can use his advantages to get his second win by decision. A very good fight definitely going to the spoiler list.

Hell decision.

Hector Souza (2-0) vs Matt Brown (3-2)

This is an old grappler vs A young striker in this matchip. Souza is the grappler with good wrestling and a brown belt in BJJ. His two wins are both by submission, with his last fight getting a guillotine in the last second of the fight! Rather incredible! Matt Brown has three wins all by TKO. We have two finishes here so this fight should be good, shame Matt Brown doesn't have the wrestling ability to keep the submission fighter Souza to take him down, and get the tap out, if he can't get the tap out then he will win the fight by submission attempts.

Souza 1st round sub

Decon Green (6-3) vs Roro Rorowski (4-3)

Decon green is a very experienced 20 year old. He has six wins all by submission with his good wrestling and purple belt in BJJ. Green also holds good boxing skills but unforunately in this fight he will not get to show them off, he should only use it for striking defence. Rorowski is a muay thai specialist with 4 wins all by TKO. Another interesting grappler vs striker finisher matchup. Rorowski has never been submitted but Green will break that trend. Green should now have the striking defence to nullify Rorowski on the feet and then work him on the mat.

Green 2nd round sub

Koji Yano (4-0) vs Pera Pulkkinen (3-0)

This is another amazing match up from two 20 year olds who are both very well rounded, both have excellent wrestling (even though Pulkkinen has the slight advantage) and both have brown belts in BJJ. Yano has the boxing and muay thai advantage, even though he has two wins by submission. Pulkkinen has the wrestling advantage although he has never scored a takedown in his MMA career. This is a great fight and I'm gonna side with the Asian man of steel Yano.

Yano decision.

Luka Mrtic (5-2-1) vs Kolt Ganger (4-1)

You know last week and the week before I said there was a guy with the best wrestling the BFC? Well there is another, add Kolt Ganger to the list. He has amazing wrestling and a brown belt in BJJ. Don't tangle with this guy on the floor. He also is steadily improving his striking. He has three wins, two by TKO and one by decision. Mrtic is a well rounded fighter specializing in Muay Thai, he also has good wrestling and a purple belt in BJJ. He is going to be outclassed in this fight on the ground and I cannot see how it doesn't go to the ground. Ganger takedown, Ganger TKO.

Ganger TKO round 1

Chiamaka Congo (11-3) vs Aaron Morris (5-4)

This is an amazing strikers fight. We have Congo who boasts an incredible record and experience against the younger enthusiastic Morris. Ten of Congo's wins have come by TKO with one coming by decision. Let me say that again. TEN WINS BY TKO. Not many people in the BFC have tens fights, let alone ten wins, let alone ten TKO's. Congo has a granite chin and is nearly impossible to knockout. He likes to use his clinch to dirty box and get the TKO from the clinch. Even though Congo has a marginal boxing advantage, Morris has a big advantage everywhere else, he has a big muay thai advantage, a slim wrestling advantage and a big BJJ avantage holding a purple belt over the white belt. Even though Morris' bread and butter is boxing, he will need to realise that standing and banging with Congo will result in his sense being lost. Morris needs a smart game plan to use his advantages elsewhere to beat Congo. Also avoid the clinch at all costs, its a big gamble and one you don't want to take with the clinch master Congo.

Morris decision.

Aviya Sherman (5-2) vs Martinez Eluard (4-1)

This event is full of great fights and this is another one. Sherman is a well rounded fighter specializing in BJJ with a brown belt and with four of his wins coming by submission and one coming by decision. He is steadily improving both his boxing and muay thai. Eluard is also a brown belt in BJJ the only difference is, it isn't his speciality, he also has very good boxing. He has three wins by TKO and one win by submission. Eluard also holds a marginal wrestling advantage, although marginal, it is a very important advantage to have over Sherman because Sherman's gameplan will be to take Eluard down and get the sub. Eluard will want to beat Sherman up and get that TKO. He will try and stop the takedowns and even if he fails he has the ability to neutralize Shermans offense. I see no way Sherman can win. Eluard gets the TKO and should call for a title shot, he has the skills to beat Kurse and that would be a great fight.

Eluard round 2 TKO

James Granger (7-3) vs Ole Nkone (5-0)

This is another great fight, involving my fighter and defending champion James Granger. Granger is a very good wrestler and holds a brown belt in BJJ. He has four submission wins and three decision wins. Granger isn't your typical BJJ submission spammer, he is clever and holds a good gameplan for every fight. He also has underrated ground and pound. Nkone is the young lion coming for the old lion. Nkone is a very good boxer and an excellent wrestler holding a purple belt in BJJ. This is very interesting because this fight can take place so many different ways and I can write a lot because I have studied a lot into Nkone and because I know James Granger since he is my fighter. One way this fight may turn out is that Nkone may try to use his substantial boxing advantage to knockout Granger while using his wrestling to stop Grangers takedowns. He may also want to try and clinch up with Granger following Grangers weakness in the clinch against Silva. However when Granger last got put in the clinch he pulled guard and got the submission victory over Lepew, who is an excellent clinch fighter. Nkone chose not to clinch with Lepew which shows Granger that he is not as good as Lepew and that if Granger can pull Lepews, he can pull Nkone's guard. Many different ways for Nkone to try and fight. But I can tell you one thing, this fight will go to the ground and if James Granger is on top Nkone will lose. Nkone needs to accept this fight will go the ground, take Granger down and reign ground and pound from Nkone hell. He may even want to lay and pray, he just has to stop Granger from reaching top position by any means necessary. I know the gameplan from Nkone will be smart, just look at the Lepew fight. Nkone lays and prays a 5 round decision (smartly) I will hold no grudge because it's the smart thing to do.

Nkone decision.

Again thanks for reading. I had a lot of fun writing this preview because of the great fights for this event, don't you dare miss it! Or I will send Eluard to come knock you out and then choke you out. If you have any improvements or suggestions you wish to tell me feel free to message me, I will message you back asap because I'm just a great guy like that. Thanks again and continue being brilliant Barbarian managers!

Yano vs Pulkkinen is fight that will be won by secondaries and physicals..

This is first fight for Pulkkinen where he needs to fight so 2,06 odds for Pulkkinen is quite high compared to that no one hasnt even seen him fighting seriously yet..

It wasn't until the middle of the morning that MMA Junkie came into Team Dovik's camp for a special interview with the new middleweight champion of Barbarian FC, Abraham Kurse. We got some great answers from the new champ about his career, winning the title, plans for the future, Adrien Silva vs. Christopher Newton and more! Check it out:

mmajunkie: Well Kurse, we'd like to congratulate you on an impressive win against Redfield and for capturing the belt in great fashion. How does it feel to finally hold a belt around your waist?

Kurse: Thanks, guys. Well, it was just a matter of hard work paying off. I got into Barbarian after failing to win a tournament in Finland and then I won a lot of fights. Pedro Fernandes tried to postpone a title fight as long as he could, but eventually it happened. After losing it and then losing to Conner, I thought it was time to end it or maybe get a fresh air. 185 was the decision and it seems to be the best one. I'm a better fighter here.

mmajunkie: You mentioned those losses as important moments in your career. How did they affect you? And what about losing twice in a row at Barbarian?

Kurse: Losing in my debut wasn't easy, but I knew I was still very green... Hell, I still have a lot to improve if you realize how old I am and the age of my opponents, but anyway, I knew it was a great chance and I was coming off jiu jitsu tournaments and started to train with Dovik to possibly adapt myself to mma. When I came back, Pedro came into my coach's gym as he was building a new org and wanted to see if there was anybody there that wanted to join. Back then he was mentored by Dovik and he told Pedro that I was a good option for the type of org he was creating. I entered it and the fights speak for themselves. I felt good in

each fight and started to adapt more. Getting to a title fight was inevitable, but I didn't expect to lose it like that. I didn't choke, but I wasn't able to put what I planned and trained at home. Stuff like that happens, but losing to Conner was a breaking point. To me, that was a fluke. Sure, I was knocked out and all that stuff you saw, but I feel that I'm a better fighter and I should've won it. But getting back together was the special moment to build myself back up. I did it.

mmajunkie: Can you talk about the last 3 fight winning streak? They were great wins and definitely got you where you are now.

Kurse: Sure. Dijkman was undefeated and had all this hype around him... Obviously he didn't face great guys. Got some good wins, specially an easy one against Adrien Silva and there he was facing me after I got 2 wins. They probably felt I was a stepping stone for him, but I did not allow any of that to happen. I wasn't going to fight off a takedown, so when he shoot on me, I was happy to let the fight go to the ground and work a submission. It worked out fine. Sherman was my debut at the new weightclass and he wasn't that much of a trouble. It was the right way to get into a title fight and then Redfield. Another undefeated guy and people labeled him as the guy to TKO me, but I avoided his strikes easily and took it to where I wanted. I don't see myself losing the belt anytime soon.

mmajunkie: And what are your thoughts on that fight labeled as a superfight between light heavyweight fighter Adrien Silva and former welterweight champion Christopher Newton?

Kurse: Hahahaha i thought that something like that would come up. Well, it's interesting just like those crazy fights back in Pride. They're fighting each other in their debuts at middleweight. They've been messing with me just because I don't buy their whole "superfight" stuff. I don't care. I hold a belt now and Silva's biggest achievement is losing by KO to a guy I submitted. Newton at least defended his belt 1 time and was the first champ at that division, but I don't see the logic of calling it a superfight other than a freak fight. I'll watch it as I watch other fights, probably not live. I told Silva that he could only call me out if he won it, but regardless of their results, they should get in line. Anyway, I'm interested in training and watching the World Cup. It's been great to be so close to so many games.

mmajunkie: And what about Drax?

Kurse: Who dat? - MMA Junkie reporter tells him who Drax is - Oh, right... Well, he should fight his first fight before saying anything. Sparring doesn't count to your record, Drax. And from what I heard, you don't have a great one. Oh yeah, you don't even have one. See you later, guys!

Ryan Conner @Abraham Kurse " but losing to Conner was a breaking point. To me, that was a fluke."

A fluke, haha don't make me laugh. We both know it was no fluke, are you man enough to back up your own words?

We're both free and don't have fights booked, say the word and I'm happy to prove to Rio that it wasn't a fluke.
