Anyone ever had a fight change this dramatically?

*** Spoiler regarding Kenneth Omeruo ***

Okay, so my fighter Kenneth Omeruo was completely kicking ass in his most recent fight, landed every single strike including multiple kicks to the legs and body yet in the second round, someone the other fighter took Kenneth down, even though his movement should have been severely limited due to the amount of body kicks and leg kicks he received and then proceeded to submit him with his first submission attempt of the fight.

Wtf.

Never been so pissed at a fight before.

Perhaps he hits like a little bitch. Not exactly a KO artist.

I'm not sure what happened. Your an experienced manager so I don't think you would have him throwing without any damage. So not sure unless he is just really weak or has no heart.

It's clear that there was plenty of damage being done, Billy Hill had "bruised ribs" by the end of round 1.

His opponent did win all 7 of his fights by submission and has a BJJ brown belt so I'd guess he has really high submission offense. I don't think it had anything to do with your fighters heart since his earlier fights say he has a big heart. Difference in ground skills with some poor luck would be my guess.

Ouch. That sucks for sure but it's probably just a case of terrible roll of a dice. :(

Never been so pissed at a fight before.

I feel you. The only time I really got upset becouse of a loss in this game was when my fighter Daniel Speed lost a fight via TKO (Cuts) 5 seconds left of the fight that he dominated. It's just a game but not really. :D

I could understand if he got a sub straight away but my fighter completely kicked his ass in the first round and if that was a real fight the other fighter would have been TKO'd because of how many clean body kicks I landed, if not he'd be completely gassed and his movement would be really limited.

In comparison, my fighter was fresh and still quick after a dominant round.

I just don't understand how he can come out in the second round and get a takedown straight away and then make my fighter tap out straight away. Like look at the Rory Mcdonald vs Damien Maia fight, Maia was so tired in the last round that he couldn't shoot properly for takedowns.

If ya look at the energy at the end of the fight, I think that tells a lot.

Looks like there wasn't much of a difference at the end. Which is bullshit when you consider that my fighter landed every single punch. How's getting taken down one take the same amount of energy off as getting kicked multiple times in the body, head and leg along with getting punched a couple of times too?

It doesn't make sense

There could be a ton of things in play here. Difference in cardio maybe? Did you go 90-100% accuracy? It can be tiring throwing constant punches and if you're not doing any damage at all, it's not very tiring to get hit until later rounds. Also, Omeruo doesn't have the best KO power it seems. So it all depends on a lot of factors really.

I agree. Thats crazy. He shouldnt be walking. The ufc record for leg kicks is 68 in 5 rounds. That guy shouldnt of been able to walk

This is exactly why I'm annoyed at the result. Who was that fighter out of interest?

Also by going for more accurate strikes, it'll take less energy off my fighter than powerful strikes or at least it should in theory

Yeah, but if you've ever shadow boxed, it still takes a decent amount of energy in real life. It takes a lot of cardio to be a boxer. Yes, light shots should use less energy than heavy shots, but they still both use decent amounts of energy. The problem is if you're throwing a bunch of light shots, you need the punches in bunches strategy which basically only pays off in the later rounds and when going for decisions. But you need an awesome chin and ground defense game for that. In the early rounds, a bunch of pitter patter weak strikes are more annoying than tiring or painful. Unfortunately in this fight, he was able to take advantage of RNG and land 1 takedown and get the easy submission.
