Sold out arena. Highest attendance to date. Highest rating on the entire Island to date. LHW back to easily dominating opponents. Skunk asap becoming the number 1 contender if he accepts the contact. Lazaro and Thompson looking set for a huge clash. Mcginty's epic striking for a second time in a row. Kunar becoming a name in the company. I LOVED tonight's fights.

Callum McGregor

Yeah a good few recently were in the 3000 arena, but for that fight I think I wanted to go for a sell out. LHW has proven that he's one of the biggest draws around so he'll definitely be showcased on the biggest arena next time.

That's 8 straight for LHW now. Looking at his record and seeing Highland Games 1 and Highland Games 52 is surreal to me. Shows how far we've come.

LHW started off as the second fight on the first card to being a guy who can sell out the biggest arena.

We've come a long way. It's also good to see contenders like Skunk Asap and Rodrigo Gracie appear at 205.

A longtime fight I wanted to see was Michael Coleman Vs LightHeavy Weight, and Coleman is 0-2 in his last 2.

Dieter Von Sprocket's hope of a rematch after his knockdown of LHW is gone with a loss over in World Combat too.

With Jake out for 16 days, I'm begging that LHW just KOs people instead of putting them out of commission at this stage.

HIGHLAND GAMES 53 PREVIEW

http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/posters/142290178253.png

Einar Enkeltmann (2-1) Vs Shino Ohio (3-0) – Lightweight

Enkeltmann is a superb jiu jitsu player and his great wrestling gives him the vehicle to get the fight to where he wants. After leaving his first two fights with submission victories, Enkeltmann succumbed to George Moshington in his last contest, despite dominating the first round.
Shino Ohio toured the independents on The Island, going 3-0 up until this point. Ohio uses his striking to win his fights, landing jabs to keep his opponent at distance, perhaps utilizing some techniques of avoidance. One thing to note is that Ohio is very heavy on combos, which might result in his downfall.

Addict Yo (3-1) Vs Milky Socks (3-3) – Bantamweight

Addict Yo has done the rounds on The Island, fighting in both the short lived Executioner and then Attack Fight League. Addict is a clinch fighter, which we’ve seen be very successful in the higher weight classes in Highland Games already.
After losing his first two, wrestler Milky Socks rebounded with 3 straight wins. In his last fight, Socks dominated Lee Kagawa, only to be knocked out in the final round. After being so close to a potential title shot, it’ll be interesting to see how Socks can get back to that level.

Chocolate Mousse (3-1) Vs Saintly Fish (4-4) – Light Heavyweight

Mousse has won three straight now, avenging his debut decision loss to Jason Todd in the process. A streak like that raises some serious eyebrows in the division, and it’s certainly time for him to step up and face someone who has been in there with some of the best.
That main is Saintly Fish. Fish has mixed it up with several experienced and talented fights, having mixed results. In his last fight, Fish scored his biggest win to date over Lock Down, scoring his second submission of the night in the process.

Jack Sock (5-3) Vs Snafu Mohajib (4-2) – Middleweight

Sock has been a solid addition to the Middleweight division since Highland Games 4. Losses to former champion Razor MuayThai and top contender Arnavut Sevket are the only blemishes on his HG record, but with 5 wins under his belt, it’s definite that the ground specialist is a threat to everyone.
Snafu is another man who’s been a tough test at 185 for a while. After three straight victories, a third round stoppage loss to Sevket knocked him back down the division. Rebounding with an impressive win over Antonio Gracie, Snafu’s muay thai makes for a dangerous foe.

Diamond Andy (6-4) Vs Chiyono Fuji (4-2) – Heavyweight

I’m not sure if I’ve been more excited about a fight before.
Diamond Andy has been the most fringe competitor in HG since its inception. Losing in the inaugural main event to #1 P4P Barney Gumble, it’s been a long road for Andy, littered with cuts and injuries. All 4 of his losses were doctor stoppages, which all 6 of his victories were knockouts. Andy can beat anyone in the world, but the possibility of us all seeing red is constantly getting higher.
Fuji is also HG 1 alum where he set the record for fastest knockout, taking Rashid Kurmally out in just 5 seconds. Like Andy, his only two losses were by cuts, while all 4 of his wins were knockouts, including a knockout of one time contender Christian Long at HG 35. Chiyono Fuji is a bonus machine, earning the highest amount of 5 in Highland Games.
This fight is being finished. That’s an absolute guarantee. I just hope the stoppage is by the hands of the fighters and not the referee.

Dimentio Boychello (5-4) Vs Thor Heyerdahl (6-2) – Heavyweight

For some time, Dimentio appeared to be somewhat of a journeyman on the Island. He went 2-3, fighting in several organisations. It was then that he refocused himself and has since went 3-1, coming off of a huge victory over Ali Mouba in his last contest. Running off of this win, Dimentio has a shot to propel himself towards the top of the division.
Speaking of momentum, Thor Heyerdahl is running with loads of it. The one time title contender suffered a loss to Pedro Lazaro recently, but rebounded by stopping Richard Riddick in a huge upset which nobody expected. With this win behind him, it’s expect that Thor could only be a few wins off of a second title shot and this time he’s positive that he’d walk home with the gold.

Dan Small (5-1) Vs Wid Ing (6-2) – Bantamweight

Dan is a fantastic submission fighter, defeating all 5 of his opponents with locks or chokes. In his last fight, he lost in the biggest opportunity of his career, failing to best Serge Ibaka for the Bantamweight title.
Wid Ing is a great kickboxer who went 5-0 before suffering back to back defeats by Kimura. A knockout victory in his last fight has changed the fortunes for the man from the Bahamas, and if he can overcome a former foe in tonights fight, he can once again turn his attention towards the top of the division.
The last time these men fought, Wid Ing easily dominated the opener before Small dragged the fight to the floor and latched on a second round submission. It will be interesting to see if Wid Ing can keep this one on the feet, or if Dan Small can make lightning strike twice.

Rodrigo Rojas (7-3) Vs Jonah Sorentino (10-5) – Middleweight

Rodrigo Rojas is a former Light Heavyweight Champion who’s fortunes have fell since then. Going 2-2 at Middleweight has meant that the trajectory of Rojas’s success has not gone according to plan, but there’s no denying the stunning jiu jitsu abilities this man possesses, currently holding the joint second most Submission of the Night bonuses in the company to date.
Jonah Sorentino is one of the most experienced guys on the entire Island. 15 professional fights with opponents such as Massimo Paterno, Ben Pulse, Razor MuayThai, Massimo Benvenuti, Din Ooo, Grant Morrison and Massao Hurmaaja. Sorentino knows exactly what it takes to win a fight, but time and time again he has fallen at the big show. Now, he must overcome this difficulty to make his case at becoming a Highland Games champion.

Andrei Alexeyev (7-2) Vs Alexey Juralev (6-2) – Heavyweight

Alexeyev was 6-0 when he challenged Barney Gumble for the 265 championship, but like all 12 of Gumble’s other foes, he was stopped in his attempt. A knockout of the night over Potter Dunn was expected, but being stopped by Nelson Frazier Jr was never part of the Russian's plans. Being in this position certainly doesn’t suit Andrei, and he knows that the main event spot should be held by him. A win here, and that dream could come to fruition once again.
Alexey Juralev might be one of the most devastating strikers we’ve ever seen in the cage. Troll has an incredible 3 knockout of the night bonuses and until his last fight had made it 5 wins in a row in Highland Games. Unlike his opponent, Juralev has never challenged for the title. After a stunning 5 fight winning streak, Juralev was bested by Mib Louie in his last contest. It would have been completely fair to have seen Juralev fight for the title, but now he finds himself rising the ranks once again. If Juralev can challenge for the title before the end of the season, this fight is pivotal and is somewhat of his last chance.

Barney Gumble (12-0) Vs Nelson Frazier Jr (8-2) – Heavyweight Title Fight

Do I have to say anything about Barney Gumble? The Island’s greatest ever fighter returns to the cage once again and has his sights fully fixed on another effortless victory here tonight. The most devastating clinch artist we’ve ever seen, Gumble has turned back every single competitor without breaking a sweat. An incredible 7 title defences and wins over Clinton Offley, Pedro Lazaro, Richard Riddick, Andrei Alexeyev, Mib Louie, Thor Heyerdahl, Diamond Andy, Christian Long and his very opponent here tonight, it’s hard to see anyone knocking Barney from the top of the mountain.
If there is anyone who’s clinch skills deserve to be noticed in the heavyweight division, it’s Nelson Frazier Jr. Unfortunately, Gumble’s skills have eclipsed everyone elses so we don’t talk about the talents of a guy like Nelson Frazier Jr as much as we should. When Nelson lost to Barney Gumble, he took on Richard Riddick in a losing effort. No one thought he would be back here again, but look at it now. Nelson has defeated his last three opponents, stopping them all to be able to bring himself back into the main event, and more importantly, back into title contention.

Mitchel Thompson

My next opponent , Lazaro, is a highly respected fighter. I'll fight him in 8 days. I like to fight often and hard. He likes to get in the cage often as well, but not to fight hard. All he can do is hug out a decision. The org owner seems to think that I'm the underdog, but to be honest, I don't think so. There are two main difference between Lazaro and me. 1) I fight and not cuddle 2) He has pillows and I have fists.

If he wants to hug with me, I'll stomp his face in and send him straight to the hospital. I know I might be considered the underdog, but my fans know that taking me lightly is a big mistake. 6 out of 7 wins are (t)KO victories... I haven't gone the distance a single time at Highland Games. My ko-power will trouble him. His only chance is to hold me against the cage and try to hug me to death like he has tried with all of his opponents. One last warning, I'm not a cute guy that likes to hug. Clinch with me and you'll pay the price for it!

Callum McGregor

Lazaro's about to get in the cage with one motivated ass scrapper.

After tonight though, I wouldn't fancy being the winner.

You'd think Nelson was some rookie out there tonight, not one of the best heavyweights around.

Gumble took him out in just 25 seconds, his quickest victory to date.

How do you stop that guy when he's only improving?

Of course I'm a bit scared that he's out of contract right now but I'm confident he'll accept the new one when he gets it.

Good to see guys like Alexey Juralev and Rodrigo Rojas getting back on winning ways as well tonight.

Thor Heyerdahl has turned into a lethal finisher, which no one expected.

A lot of big draws on the card tonight which really came through.

We had out biggest gate to date tonight. I believe that before the season is over, we'll be selling out Hard Knocks 4 times a week.

Great show guys. Can't wait for the next one.

HIGHLAND GAMES 55 PREVIEW

Written by Callum McGregor

Kofi Amankwah (5-7) Vs Ardian Kurniawan (2-4) – Bantamweight

Being 1-5 in the early moments of his career, the future looked bleak for Kofi. Incredibly, a 4 fight win streak brought him to equal standing. Unfortunately, a recent 2 fight skid has him on the cut list and this is a must win.
Joining him on the cut list is Ardian Kurniawan. A BJJ pruple belt, Kurnaiwan has slick grappling skills but a heavy weakness on the feet. Dropping 2-5 in his career would be disastrous for Ardian, so he needs to bring this one to the floor quickly and cleanly.

KR AD (5-2) Vs Micky Oniel (5-2) – Lightweight
KR has announced that this would be his last professional fight, and that afterwards he would head into the sunlight of retirement. But that couldn’t be further away because before that, the former 155 title challenger has a scheduled 15 minutes of fighting to get through, which could see his career end on a painful note if he isn’t fully focused.
The last time these men competed, the judges were split after the first two rounds. Oniel managed to use his boxing and leg kicks to land strikes, but was open to body shots throughout. The bout earned both men a Fight of the Night bonus, but mixed results since makes this a fight Micky is determined to walk away with.

Mairbek Krylov (4-1) Vs Alexis Sanchez (3-0) – Light Heavyweight
Two Highland Games debutants competing in the light heavyweight division in this encounter.
Mairbek earned his way into Highland Games with a 1st round TKO over former HG 205er Lock Down. A lone decision loss to experienced veteran and former AFL Champion Carl Jessup marks his record. Mairbek likes the clinch and will look to execute his vicious dirty boxing as soon as possible.
Standing across from him is undefeated fighter Alexis Sanchez. With a high paced boxing style, Sanchez wants to work his opponents over with combinations. His accuracy with his punches leaves something to be desired, but if he can adjust his style for this one he might give Krylov a run for his money.

Jeffery Lebowski (8-6) Vs Hideki Higkiko (7-2) – Lightweight
Jeffery has tonnes of experience and was a long time competitor in Attack Fight League. After going 7-3, winning the Lightweight title in AFL, Lebowski decided to vacate the belt and cut weight to Bantamweight. He was a huge 135er and the weight cut really showed a weakness for him, losing his next 2. In his Highland Games debut, returning to Lightweight, he was stopped by Carl Sheppards. As a former top contender at Lightweight, Lebowski has a lot to prove here tonight.
Hideki is an absolute cardio machine, winning 6 of his 7 contests by decision. His stellar kickboxing brought him to a title fight with Don Killuminati, and despite putting up an incredible challenge, Higkiko fell short. If he wants to become the champion before the end of the season, Higkiko needs to utilize his accurate and sharp kickboxing skills to walk away with this one.

Ronald Raygun (6-4) Vs Jacob Naankuse (4-2) – Bantamweight
Ronald Raygun has fought for 4 different organisations on The Island, so he’s been around the block in his professional career. When he debuted for Highland Games, he was submitted by one of the top competitors at Bantamweight; Renato Laranja. To avoid dropping back to back fights for the first time in his career, Raygun needs to avoid getting submitted once again.
A man looking to do just that is Jacob Naankuse. Jacob was a top contender just a short time ago, but losses to Jomlong Kiapoity and losing to Dan Sten in their rematch has him in a difficult position. It’s hard to think a guy with his level could be released from the company, but dropping a third straight fight would be very difficult to overcome for the submission specialist.

Short Fuse (7-2) Vs Better Dead (6-4) – Lightweight
For a short while, Short Fuse was considered to be the best fighter in the Lightweight division. He was 6-0 and was the final ever UltimateXC 155 Champion. Adding to this, an impressive finish over Jack Stick put him in a title fight. He was fighting 3-0 heavy underdog Don Killuminati, but in a Fight of the Night contest, Don defeated Fuse by a razor close split decision. A second loss to Hideki Higkiko knocked him down the rankings, but Short Fuse’s KO victory over Roscoe Jones proved to everyone that he still has complete knockout power.
Better Dead was recruited to Highland Games to lose some fights and help build some potential stars. He was 1-3 and really didn’t seem to be going anywhere. Next thing you knock, he has four straight first round stoppages, spending an incredible 2 minutes in the cage before disposing all four men. He also tied Chiyono Fuji’s 5 second knockout record when he disposed of Lord Seraphim at Highland Games 20. A win over a competitor at the level of Short Fuse would be gigantic for Dead and would skyrocket him towards the top of the division.

Bhola Djin Djin (4-1) Vs George Moshington (5-0) – Lightweight
This fight has serious title implications.
“The Lion” has four straight victories in Highland Games and is one of the scariest wrestlers someone can stand across the cage from the Mali native takes opponenets down and batters them with some lethal ground and pound, with the option of looking for a submission also sitting in his back pocket. A win in this fight would put Bhola right up there, and at the very most he’d be one fight off of securing a title shot.
Undefeated George Moshington has incredible boxing with massive knockout power in both hands. If that isn’t scary enough, the Circle Pit President also has a BJJ Purple Belt and great submission skills off of his back, as his last opponent Dick Castle knows all too well. With two wins in a row in HG, making it 3 against a guy like Bhola puts him in the position to callout one of the top guys in the division, but a loss would see him struggling to climb back up.

Eirikur Adalsteinn (7-3) Vs Ludko Struja (6-3) – Light Heavyweight
These veterans have been top contenders in the Light Heavyweight division for a long time. Both debuts at Highland Games 2 and both have competed for the title.
Adalsteinn has challenged for the belt twice, falling short to Rodrigo Rojas and LightHeavy Weight, while Struja also fell to the latter.
Adalsteinn has incredible knockout power, using it to stop LHW, Jaymz Hetfield, Scott McGinty and Momo La Brute amongst others.
Ludko likes to take the fight to the floor and has wins over Rice Aroni, James Helm and also has a W over La Brute.
Both men are coming off losses so this will be a huge tell-tale to where they end up within the division. Will Adalsteinn’s knockout power prevail, or will Struja be able to utilize his hard hitting ground and pound? Tune in to find out.

Massa Hurmaaja (9-2) Vs Arnavut Sevket (6-1) – Middleweight
Massa is a former Middleweight Champion, winning it by stopping the current champion by TKO in the very first round. Massa might well be the most talented guy not wearing a belt on the entire Island. The Finn fighter is an all-round grappling genius, capable of executing his gameplan to perfection. When on the ground, he enjoys to beat up opponents with unmatched ground and pound, but at any moment the Brown Belt is able to use his jiu jitsu to tap someone out or render them unconscious.
With a decision loss to champion Benvenuti being the only smudge on the professional record of Arnabut Sevket, it’s easy to see why he’s hailed as one of the best fighters in the division. Sevket has abilities in every single area. He can handle opponents on the ground, but his boxing gifts him the opportunity to decide how he wants to win the fight. I think it goes without saying that his boxing and muay thai will play a very big part in this fight and will essentially be the decider if he is capable of keeping it on the feet. While it’s likely that he can negate Hurmaaja’s attacks if the fight does spill to the floor, Sevket’s wheelhouse will be working his striking and executing well timed sprawls.

http://i62.tinypic.com/2s93x4o.png(6-1) Vs http://i62.tinypic.com/mshwyw.png (11-2) – Lightweight

And now we arrive at the main event of the evening. Two of greatest Lightweights around, competing for the highest honour the 155 division has to offer; The Highland Games Lightweight Championship.
We’ll start with the challenger, Gottlieb Hiebknecht. A long time top ranked competitor, the German has displayed that he is hugely capable in every single aspect of the game. 7 knockouts and 3 submissions mean Gottlieb might be the best all round competitor The Island has to offer. This is his Highland Games debut, but that doesn’t take anything away from his skillset. The final AFL Lightweight Champion, with 3 defences and wins over Calvin Brooks, Zoran Jolevi, Papa Shango, Peter Parker and Carl Sheppards, Gottlieb will not let the limelight get the best of him here and he intends on becoming a champion once again here tonight.
And now onto the champion. Mustafa Shabazz upset the bookies when he defeated Don Killuminati for the Highland Games championship in his last contest, writing the only wrong in his career in the process. The submission skills of Mustafa are absolutely incredible and all 6 of his victims have fallen by that method. Armbars, rear naked chokes, guillotines, triangles, Mustafa knocks every single position and every single way to make an opponent slap the mat. If the fight hits the floor, you really have to think that Mustafa will secure his 5th straight victory and make the first defence of his title. While he’s certainly a capable competitor, I don’t think Shabazz wants to keep this one standing and it will almost certainly be used to set up his takedowns.

HIGHLAND GAMES 56

By Callum McGregor

We’re back once again, this time for Highland Games 56. Our main event tonight will be the third encounter between Grant Morisson and the Middleweight Champion Massimo Benvenuti. Also vowing to sell out Hard Knock is our co-main event competitors, both looking to challenge for a title in their next fight, Benny Askren and Mase Force. Without further ado, here’s the line-up this evening.

Lister Man (4-3) Vs John McEnroe (6-7) – Middleweight
After losing all of his first three contests, Lister Man bounced back with four straight stoppages. With spectacular muay thai and some devastating head kicks, Lister Man can KO anyone in that cage.
Another man who turned his career around after a disappointing run is John McEnroe. McEnroe fell an embarrassing seven fights with just one victory. It’s hard to know what made him keep going, but we’re all glad he did. McEnroe has won his last 5 fights, including an impressive win over experienced independent fighter Hell Filipovic.
Both guys have turned a lot around to get to this point, but a loss will send them back to the bottom of the division.

Dillen Aspen (6-3) Vs Budak Poyo (4-2) – Lightweight
Aspen’s first 6 fights were stoppage victories and it was looking like Aspen might have been something special in the lightweight division. Unfortunately, 3 straight losses has sent Dillen into a downwards spiral. A loss in this fight would likely see Aspen be released from the company, but a win would perform a much needed 180 on his professional career.
Budak seems like a talented wrestler with the ability to grapple and work his jiu jitsu. An unimpressive 1-2 in Highland Games makes it hard for Poyo to claim any momentum at this stage, so it will be very interesting to see if he is able to get back on winning ways here tonight.

Devin Jaqquard (4-1) Vs Brett Iowa (4-2) – Bantamweight
“Silverback” Devin Jaqquard is coming off of his first professional loss, and I know that it was devastating for the bantamweight. Joining Highland Games after 4 straight victories, including stoppages over Addict Yo and Ronald Raygun, it was all looking bright for Jaqquard until a 54 second upset loss to Lee Kagawa ended the streak. Devin is a great striker and a superb wrestler, and he plans to show his opponent that here tonight.
Brett Iowa has made it 4-2 in the independent circuit before signing for Highland Games. A loss in his last fight takes a lot of shine off of this opportunity for the 22 year old American, but with a solid background in wrestling and experienced to boot, Brett Iowa is looking forward to making a splash in the 135 division.

Saladin Hussain (7-4) Vs Hakeem Slaughter (6-4) – Middleweight
Saladin has a lot of experience as a professional mixed martial artist with 11 fights under his belt. After a highly successful independent campaign, Hussain dropped 2 fights in Ultimate XC including a title fight against Grant Morrison. 2-2 in Highland Games and a shift in management, Hussain knows what it takes to win a fight and plans on demonstrating that here tonight.
Another guy with a long history of competing behind him is Hakeem Slaughter. He’s been utilizing a background in wrestling to lock horns with some talented fighters for a while now, but with a 1-2 record in his current organisation, Hakeem might find himself in a very precarious position if he leaves the ring with a loss here tonight.

Alfonso Bebeto (4-2) Vs Hughtavious Mingo (5-2) – Light Heavyweight
I have to say, it’s been a hell of a time trying to get a hold of Harriet Marshall to book fights, but fortunately we have Bebeto scheduled for action this Thursday night. Alfonso Bebeto hasn’t fought in over a month, but with all 4 of his victories coming by way of submission, it’s no surprise what gameplan the brown belt Brazilian is going to bring with him to the cage.
His opponent is Hughtavious Mingo, a capable boxer with a history of knockouts. Losses to Eduardo Massa Alcantara and Saintly Fish have made it hard for Mingo to reach the top of the division, but it’s undeniable that West Monroe native has power in both hands, and if he can keep this one standing, it’s highly anticipated that he can get a second straight victory.

Massimo Paterno (9-5) Vs Big Tree (7-1) – Middleweight
Once amassing an impressive 8-2 record, Massimo Paterno was hailed as one of Highland Games’ greatest competitors. Going 3-0 with a rarely seen Brabo Choke over Ramulus Artemis behind him, Paterno was going in against follow Massimo, the current champion Benvenuti, in his first ever title fight. Unfortunately, Massimo was defeated in the contest, but what’s more notable was that he lost his next two, even getting submitted by Rodrigo Rojas. With a win over Tyron Silva to get him back on the scoreboards, Paterno looks to once again become a contender in the Middleweight division.
Across from him is Big Tree. One of the former ZyD fights without a manager at the moment, Tree has just one professional loss, also to Benvenuti. The biggest achievement thus far in Tree’s career is finishing his UltimateXC career as the final Welterweight Champion. Earlier in his career, Tree was a standout with stunning striking, winning twice by spinning backfist and once with a superman punch. Since joining HG, Tree has went the distance in all three contests, so a knockout win would be huge for him here.

Aleksandar Mihaylov (5-3) Vs Yip Kai Man (7-4) – Middleweight
Aleksandar Mihaylov has seen better times in his career. Duel losses to Razor MuayThai, one of which being a title shot, and then another loss to Big Tree put Mihaylov down in the rankings. With Razor now officially leaving Highland Games, strangely fighting at Heavyweight elsewhere, it might be the opportunity that Aleksandar was looking for to get himself right up there towards the title.
Another man looking to turn fortunes back in his favour is one time AFL Welterweight Champion Yip Kai Man. After an impressive 6 fight winning streak, things have not been looking so great for the Chinaman. Kai comes with some dangerous kickboxing, but although he’s a solid competitor, emerging victorious here tonight is a must for him to continue his career.

Calvin Brooks (8-3) Vs Mamad Mouba (5-2) – Lightweight
Another former champion on the card tonight with Calvin Brooks. Calvin had won 5 in a row before challenging Sniper One for the Attack Fight League 155 strap. Brooks won by submission, as he had done in all of his professional bouts. A decision loss in his next fight to Jeffery Lebowski, followed by a submission upset to Papa Shango, and Brooks couldn’t believe his career’s u-turn. Since then, Brooks has went 2-1, losing to our current champion Gottlieb Hiebknecht in his last fight. Brooks class is very evident, and he’s really looking to prove himself amongst the Highland Games lightweight ranks here in his debut.
Mamad Mouba, also known as “The Real King”, is the reigning World Combat Champion. After the early success of his big brother, Ali Mouba, Mamad wanted to give Highland Games a run for it’s money. He entered, eyeing up a potential champion Vs champion showdown if he was able to win his first opponent; JJ Lycka. Unfortunately for the youngster, Mouba was defeated over the course of rounds, dropping his second loss in his career. The WC Belt holder will be looking to return WC as a winner, or if he decides to stay with Highland Games, make a run at Gottlieb’s 155 belt.

Mase Force (8-2) Vs Benny Askren (6-2) – Heavyweight
When Mase Force first joined HG, he was coming off of the first loss of his career and didn’t have the motivation behind him yet. To make matters worse, he didn’t make it out of the first round when he took on Stefan Struve in his first fight.
Really, Force was lined up to be a divisional gatekeeper. He had went the distance in 4 of his 6 fights and has lost his last two. How wrong could we be? Since then, Force has become a motivated machine, winning 4 straight including Amine Nesquik and Chiyono Fuji. Earning a 5th consecutive win would be gigantic for Force’s career, and he reckons he would be able to be the one to top Gumble if he manages to get to that position.
Challenging Force for that right is “Funky” Benny Askren. Askren has been overlooked for quite some time, but after 8 Highland Games fights with a 75% win rate, Askren is certainly one of the more experienced and long lasting guys we have in the organisation today. For the first time in his career thus far, Askren is on a 3 fight high, but this will certainly be his biggest challenge yet. One thing to look out for is Askren’s ability to cut people open inside the clinch. Between Askren and LightHeavy Weight, these men have taken more blood from their adversaries than Count Dracula, and Funky Ben will want to do the same thing here tonight.

http://i60.tinypic.com/25khamq.png (14-1) Vs http://i57.tinypic.com/2resf0j.png (11-3) – Middleweight Title Fight
This is it, the main event of the evening and the highly anticipated third fight between two of the greatest European fighters located on The Island.
To start, we’ll look into the history of these two fighters a little bit.
In September 2014, both fighters currently stood at 2-0. Both had two first round finishes coming into the independent clash so no one expected it to last long.
Benvenuti landed a few shots early, and Morrison didn’t look like he had gotten out of first gear. Just 20 seconds into the fight, Benvenuti landed a huge straight right and knocked Grant Morrison out. Benvenuti remained an undefeated rising prospect, while Morrison’s chin had several sceptics doubting it.
One month later, both men signed for UltimateXC, which at the time was The Island’s number one organisation. Although Massimo was 4-0 while Grant currently had a record of 4-1, it was the latter which was granted a title shot. Grant took on Saladin Hussain, knocking him out in under 2 minutes and becoming the first UXC Middleweight Champion.
On October 22nd, both men competed on the WAR Wednesday card. Morrison was main eventing against a superb fighter in Massa Hurmaaja while Benvenuti was third on the card, fighting another solid guy in Jonah Sorentino. Benvenuti wasn’t happy about this. He had defeated Morrison in just 20 seconds, yet was a supporting act for Grant’s title reign.
Grant defeated Hurmaaja to defend his title on cuts, while Massimo went the distance for the first time in his career, taking a unanimous decision.
UltimateXC went down and both men became free agents. In November, both signed on the dotted line to become official Highland Games competitors. Massimo defeated Renato Gracie and Nestor Shufrich, both in the second round, while Grant beat Patrick O Riley in the first. Morrison’s record had went to an impressive 7-1, while Massimo was 8-0. Almost identical records with one main difference, Massimo Benvenuti had defeated Grant Morrison.
They were the number one and two fighters in HG which led to a gigantic encounter at Highland Games 18’s supershow. Massimo Benvenuti Vs Grant Morrison 2, for the first Highland Games Middleweight Championship. After a first round in the clinch, where the judges clearly scored Morrison the winner, Massimo rocked Grant with a combination before stopping him with some devastating blows. Massimo had done it. He was the new Middleweight Champion and held two wins over Morrison.
Since then, both guys have had strong careers. Massimo dropped the belt to Massa Hurmaaja but in his last fight stopped Razor Muay Thai to take it back.
Morrison also lost to Massa, but had went on a four fight winning streak, knockout out some of the top contenders in the Middleweight division to get here.
So that brings us to now. Morrison wants this fight and he wants it BAD. He has proven time and time again how great he is as a competitor and this will be his fourth title shot thus far. The man who’s stood in his way of greatness has been Benvenuti, so this is a very important fight for him to avenge his losses.
Benvenuti is very confident coming into this. He knows he can hurt Morrison and thinks it’s only a matter of time before he does it once again. He has one loss in his career, and with a win here he’d likely stifle any future contest against Morrison again. Massimo could be the best fighter on The Island, and every win is important for him to solidify that fact.

There we have it. 10 great fights here tonight and it’s expected that we will have bags of fantastic finishes. There is only one way to know what will happen, tune in to watch it live!

26 year old

"It'll be interesting to see how Devin Jaqquard (4-1) reacts in his next fight. I wish him all the best in his fight, I feel he has a lot of potential and will look to learn from the mistake he made against a wise fighter like myself. "

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!

Grant Morrison has faced Massimo Benvenuti 3 times.

In the first two, Benvenuti stopped him in under 2 rounds.

If there was ever a time for Grant to pull it out the bag, it was here, for the HG title.

He goes out there and wins by knockout in the first round. AMAZING!

And to Kagawa, I agree.

Jaqquard is a huge prospect and every fight of his is worth keeping an eye on.

For anyone who recently checked our ranks and didn't see Barney Gumble's name;

Gumble will take on World Combat champion Dick Wad on their show on Feb 18th.

We came to an agreement where Gumble would challenge for their title, then return to Highland Games.

Everyone here at HG wishes him lots of luck in his first title challenge in a long time.

Mitchel Thompson

Hey org owner, you might want to hire a few extra cameramen, as I'm going to give Lazaro the beating of a lifetime. Gameplan is set, wife has been fucked, chicken has been eaten and I'm still hungry. Hungry to knock Lazaro out and make a big statement!

HIGHLAND GAMES 57 PREVIEW

By Callum McGregor

The stands are filled for the second night in a row as one of the most outstpoken and controversial fighters in Highland Games history; LightHeavy Weight, defends his 205 title against the last Attack Fight League Champion and jiu jitsu expert; Rodrigo Gracie. We have a card stacked with heavyweight killers, so it’s highly unlikely that many of these fights go the distance. Without further ado, let’s get into it.

Death Ripping (3-0) Vs Judah Seraphim (4-2) – Middleweight
Death is debuting with us here tonight after an impressive 3 fight career in the independents. Having spent just 2 minutes and 48 seconds in the cage throughout his career, it’s obvious how devastating his punches can be when he lands on the target.
Judah Seraphim is a strong boxer who enjoys throwing hands with any opponent. The 18 year old has experience beyond his years, and it’s expected that he’ll get exactly what he wants in terms of an opponent who will stand and trade with him.

Quar Fang (4-3) Vs Barol Kedorf (2-4) – Heavyweight
Recently, Quar Fang was on a career high with a three fight winning streak with 2 knockout of the night bonuses. A second loss to Benny Askren has taken that away from him, and once again reiterated the boxer’s susceptibility to cuts. Fang always needs to win his fights quickly and cleanly to avoid having the ref step in to look at his lacerations.
Barol Kedorf has been with us for longer than you’d expect. He debuts at Highland Games 3, being submitted by Michael Kamara. A HG record of 2-3 has always kept him at the bottom of the ladder, and with 2 straight defeats, it seems that he could fall off onto the ground with another unimpressive performance here tonight.

Nashik Adwadi (3-2) Vs Billy The Kid (3-2) – Heavyweight
Nashik has been signed to Highland Games for a long time but hasn’t had the quickest turnaround of fights. Lost in the hustle of Harriet Marshall’s regime in charge, Adwadi didn’t fight from HG 11 to HG 28. With a 3-1 record in the organisation, with all 3 wins coming by way of KO and his sole loss being a decision, Nashik is a prospect to keep your eye on.
Not much was expected of Billy when he joined HG. He was coming off of a loss, and then was stopped by Jax Dax in his debut. Surprisingly, the underdog has turned it all around with a 3 fight win streak, stopping all 3 competitors in the process. Making it 4 in a row would be huge for Billy, and might just be the breakthrough he needs to compete at the top of the division.

Sailele Lealofi (5-2) Vs Magnus Cross (8-5) – Heavyweight
A submissionist, Lealofi’s 5 victories have all come by way of the opponent tapping the mat. His specialty is chokes, with nothing being more satisfying then remove air from the lungs of his adversarial opponent.
Magnus Cross is a veteran of 13 fights, taking on names like San Terra, Clinton Offley and Benny Askren. His combination of solid boxing with a questionable chin might not be great for Cross, but for us fans it certainly makes for an interesting fighter to watch.

Talon Axel (4-3) Vs Eduardo Massa Alcantara (6-3) – Light Heavyweight
Axel has been around the block in Highland Games and three post fight bonuses to his name. Highlight reel head kick knockouts are his specialty, and if he lands one tonight, Axel will most likely have his name on the bonus sheet once again.
Eduardo recently had his 4 fight knockout streak dashed by Jihani Tuomiola, and in turn, his opportunity to challenge for the belt ripped away from him. Alcantara is now 4-2 in Highland Games and has shown knockout power throughout his entire career. The road back to the top will be long, but Alcantara’s experience will give him an advantage as he rebuilds his reputation.

Zakari Moss (9-3) Vs Gianluca Balotelli (5-3) – Bantamweight
There is certainly some bad blood between these competitors.
When Moss took on Pravola, it was announced that the loser would compete against the debuting Gianluca Balotelli. Moss and Balotelli had a back and forth, with Moss ending the discussion by submitting Frank Pravola in just 1 minute 22 seconds.
While Moss went on to also submit Jomlong Kiapoity, Balloteli earned knockout of the night against Pravola.
That set up the contest we have here. Gianluca has fantastic striking, but Zakari Moss is an outstanding grappler with finishing ability.

Jason Barrett (6-3) Vs Richard Riddick (8-4) – Heavyweight
As it currently stands, Jason Barrett is my favourite fighter in Highland Games. Exciting knockout power, the ability to come back and change a fight at any moment, and a fighter’s spirit that sees him constantly competing, he’s an absolute dream to work with as a promoter. After going 5-0 in Highland Games, he had a number 1 contenders fight against Mib Louie which he lost. Going 1-2 since then is a strange look for the puncher, and he needs to turn it all around with another win.
A man who’s currently fallen on hard times is Richard Riddick. Once 7-0 and the Attack Fighting League super heavyweight champion, Riddick fell to Matt Punisher by TKO in his second defence. A big win over Nelson Frazier Jr gave him a crack at Barney Gumble for the HG belt, but again he was stopped by punches. Back to back losses to Heyderdahl and Lazaro since then have Riddick on a 3 fight losing streak, and although he isn’t expected to be cut with a fight here tonight, he’d certainly be in last chance saloon.

Christian Long (6-5) Vs Clinton Offley (9-2) – Heavyweight
Long’s road until this stage has been heavily turbulent. Going 3-0, with a stunning headkick knockout of Alexey Juralev in his Highland Games debut, Long earned an opportunity to challenge Barney Guble for the inaugural Highland Games 265 strap. Long lost, but bounced back with two more victories, both earning fight of the night and a TKO of Elias Page earning Knockout of the Night. Christian would then drop 3 straight fights and was on the chopping block, saving himself by KOing Antonio The Sparta. Fresh off a knockout loss to Jason Barrett, he will need to win this fight if he wants to avoid being back in a troublesome position.
Clinton Offley is probably the most talented Island fighter to never win a title. His only losses are to Gunnar McGregor for the UltimateXC belt, and then an L to Gumble in his last fight for the Highland Games gold. Outside of this, he has been absolutely perfect in his career. 8 of his 9 wins have been by submission, 2 earning Submission of the Night in HG. Offley is gutted that he lost the fight to Gumble, but he knows how talented he is as a competitor and if he is able to put a string of wins together, he’ll be back on top, and it all starts tonight.

Pedro Lazaro (9-2) Vs Mitchel Thompson (7-2) – Heavyweight
This is a match up I personally didn’t see happening, but Thompson specifically requested this fight.
Pedro ‘Pirate’ Lazaro is an extremely experienced heavyweight fighter, taking on some of the most talented guys at 265 and being victorious in all but two of his fights.
A clinch master, Lazaro has wins over Jason Barrett, Richard Riddick, Thor Heyerdahl and Keijo Virtanen and is a onetime title contender.
Up until recently, Pedro has focused on doing whatever it takes to win the fight, winning most of his fights by decision. Back to back stoppages of Barrett and Riddick have proven that Pedro has adapted his game to become a more lethal competitor.
Mitchel Thompson will fight anyone anytime. He’ll fight anyone at the drop of a hat, and with deadly boxing and impactful punches, Mitchel knows that he can win a fight on any given night. In his time, Thompson has struggled slightly with grapplers, losing to submissionist Keijo Birtanen, clincher Nelson Frazier Jr and an early decision to wrestler Mase Force. Thompson wants to prove everyone wrong. He has requested a fight against a top grappler, Pedro Lazaro, and he believes fully that if he can land on Lazaro’s chin, he will walk away from this fight with an upset loss and potentially a crack at the greatest Island fighter of all time; Barney Gumble.

http://i61.tinypic.com/6p6c7l.png (11-1) Vs http://i60.tinypic.com/j9sj1u.png (10-2) – Light Heavyweight Title Fight
LHW has an opinion about everything, running down HG fighters left right and centre. Everyone wants to see this guy get knocked out cold, but if that’s what you want then LHW is sitting with his belt around his waist laughing at you.
Currently the champion is riding a winning streak of 8 fights, 6 of those scheduled for 5 rounds and 5 of them being successful title defences. Weight also avenged his only loss to Eirikur Adalsteinn, so essentially he is now an undefeated fighter.
If you haven’t seen LightHeavy Weight fight before, and are squeamish in any way, then we won’t even take your money from you. Don’t tune in, because what this man does to his opponents is little short of sickening. With 7 wins due to cuts, LHW likes to take the fight into the clinch and use his elbows like razors to slice his opponent open.
Recently, he looked a little bit more human, even being dropped by a headkick from Dieter Von Sprockets. None the less, his record sheets reads nothing other than pure dominance, and he’s eyeing up another name to his list of victims tonight.
Rodrigo Gracie was a top contender in Highland Games with wins over Alfonso Bebeto, Lock Down and Wo Fi. It was looking like Gracie might well be the logical contender for the title, but he decided that he’d take his services to Attack Fight League. After a triangle choke victory over Bunaidi Pakpahan, Rodrigo was lined up to fight AFL LHW kingpin Michael Coleman.
Coleman boasted a record of 8-1 and was the heavy favourite to win the fight. None the less, Rodrigo went out there and submitted Michael Coleman in under 2 minutes, taking the title in the organisation’s last event and picking up a submission of the night bonus in the process.
Now, riding an incredible wave of momentum, Gracie has returned to Highland Games to continue what he had started 2 months ago. Rodrigo Gracie will compete for the first time for the Highland Games Light Heavyweight Championship, and he believes in his ability to take the fight to the floor, avoid the clinch, and ultimately submit LHW.

Our second event in as many nights is upon us. Some big behemoths are looking to get towards the top of the division, while Rodrigo Gracie is looking to add a second title to his Island collection. We should be in for a good one tonight folks, so tune in and watch the action unfold.

Callum McGregor

A win for Thompson, depending on dates and recoveries etc., might sneak him in as a last title challenger before the tourney.

Good luck in the fight man.

Mitchel Thompson

I would even fight him injured boss. First I'm going to try and put on a show against Lazaro and when I win, I'll be aiming to KO Gumble, even if my eye socket is broken, I only have one leg and my dick fell off. If I win my next fight, I'll step into that octagon and take on the mighty champ.

Gianluca Balotelli

135lbs fighter

"Hahaha I recall Zakari Moss saying he was going to beat me not to long ago? Son, you just got schooled. Boss, give me the title shot. I have learned from my losses, I will never lose again and I have not lost at Highland. That guy Moss just tried to take me down 17 times and I laughed in his face every time and finished him with a knee. You are all nothing to me. I have no injuries, he didn't hit me once. Let me fight quick turnaround and if I have to earn the shot by destroying someone like Neil Drake then so be it. But I want little time between now and then, I will fight him tomorrow if needs be."

Routine clinch win for LHW.

He made Gracie look like an amateur, and remember Rodrigo Gracie was the reigning AFL champion.

After Gumble ends Dick Wad, it'll just prove that Highland Games is the best organisation on The Island by a long shot.

I'm going to break regulation and give Talon Axel another shot.

Talon was giving Eduardo a hell of a fight and it was really unfortunate for the poor lad.

Jason Barrett's KO power is back! Awesome fight and finish.

I was already speaking with Jayjay and said the fight doesn't really work.

Massa Hurmaaja or Renato Gracie will be coming off of a three fight streak after HG 60.

Massa is a former champ and is 1-1 with the current champ.

If Renato wins, he'll have a win over that above^ haha.

I think it's unfair to deny those guys their shot in favour of someone who hasn't fought in the org.

I also talked to Jayjay about the landscape of each division.

We have contenders at BW, LW and MW to fight before the season's end.

LHW is really the only one we can spare, in addition to the HW.

At the same time, I don't feel Ben Pulse is a worthy challenger for our 205 champ.

So if Skunk or Roger can take the WC title before Feb 26th, we can do that.
