clydebankblitz
Ahhh I clicked Juliana Lima to see someone who doesn't have everything definitive and I get what you mean. So for people who had TUF fights, we enter how many they had, and for people who's records aren't updated already we add in how many UFC fights they had excluding the ones that are logged in the system yeah? Guest
In regards to the heavyweights, you ask for their actual weight (which is fair enough), but what if this varies between fights? e.g. one fight he was 244 and the next he was 248. UFC profile lists him as 247, and I know you said not to use Sherdog for this, but they list him as something else also. In regards to stances, another guy who I watched 3 fights for, he switched stance once and threw one kick which I don't think qualifies him as a switcher. I'm safe in just putting down orthodox (as that's what he fights with 99% of the time I've seen)?
Shards
http://www.betmma.tips/fighter_profile.php?FID=58&Name=Humberto_Brown http://www.betmma.tips/fighter_profile.php?FID=219&Name=Renato_Carneiro http://www.betmma.tips/fighter_profile.php?FID=209&Name=Heather_Clark http://www.betmma.tips/fighter_profile.php?FID=218&Name=Antonio_Dos Their Wiki page links are to Sherdog http://www.betmma.tips/fighter_profile.php?FID=563&Name=Cortney_Casey UFC page isn't valid should be: http://www.ufc.com/fighter/cortney-casey http://www.betmma.tips/fighter_profile.php?FID=36#a_gb UFC lists him at 170 not 155. http://www.betmma.tips/fighter_profile.php?FID=86&Name=Josh_Copeland UFC and Sherdog both list him at 245lbs not 265. http://www.betmma.tips/fighter_profile.php?FID=498#a_gb UFC lists him at 170 not 185. On another note would N/A be fine for some belt rankings? I keep running into some fighters like Phil Davis who do not make a claim for any BJJ belt. I would understand this to be different than just filling them in as a white belt.
Guest
I've been scrolling down to the biography section of their UFC page and some have it answered - if it's there I've been finding it as an answer to the "What ranks and titles have you held?" question. I've also been using the wiki if it cites a source - one was to a Facebook picture of the guy with his teacher and his black belt certificate so it seemed pretty legit. What about guys that don't train BJJ? For example, a lot (if not all) the Russian/Eastern European/Dagestani etc. guys will have trained exclusively in Sambo, which has no belt system but there is not a person in the world that would argue that someone like Nurmagamedov wouldn't be a BJJ black belt if he trained in it. Another example is Eddie Alvarez, from his official UFC bio Ranks in any martial arts styles? I’m not belted in BJJ but I roll with BJJ black belts all the time and hold my own. You can't really base it off MMA fights either since then blue belt Anthony Pettis armbarred black belt Benson Henderson for a UFC title. Flippin Frank Mir is all over the place, varying by about 15lbs Depending on how much time they spent on the feet, just put that guy as an orthodox. We can update him later if he starts switching more. Ahhh I clicked Juliana Lima to see someone who doesn't have everything definitive and I get what you mean. Yep that's right. As for belts, yes, it's very tricky. I've set the text limit to 25 days so we can have a short description. So you can put NA (Black Sambo). or something along those lines. So BJJ belt, then a note in brackets. For Alvarez you can put "Not ranked (approx Purple)" or something based on that note about rolling with black belts. I would rather not guess but we've seen enough of his fights now. I'm also cool with putting e.g. Blue (but is better). Oh and on weights, sometimes they change weight but our system just shows their last fight weight, which is useful to show people when someone's gone up or down in weight, on the next event page. MBennet
What if a fighter has no english wiki page but has a wiki page in the language matching his country of origin (polish, portugese)?

MBennet
Ok, one last question. When you see fighter occasionaly (very rarely) switch to southpaw but never actually throw a shot while at this stance, it's just orthodox in the dropdown menu, not "switches(mostly orthodox)", right? Guest
Apologies if this is a dumb question.....the previous UFC fights value is essentially the number of total UFC fights minus the fights logged value? Just want to be completely sure.

MBennet
Okay, BJJ belts are the hardest to check. And some people don't even have those, cause, I don't know, maybe they prefer to use regular belts. depends on the pants I guess.

MBennet
Ok, one last question (I've read the thread carefully). Will the handicapper vip still be available after the whole table is filled to brim with data?
MMATycoon
Yep, that's totally separate I'll also be making it so you guys can add fighters too btw. That takes me quite a while - still got a couple to add for Johnson vs Dodson 2 event and we tend to get a couple of new fighters per card. p.s. there are a couple of fighters on this weekend's card who don't have all their info filled in, if anyone wants to do those guys specifically. Cheers

MBennet
I very much like the purple section at the bottom (especially lots of non-physical, vaguely - if at all - measurable characteristics. It is my weird, peculiar, isolated opinion that it's what's in the head, not what's in the body that wins the fight 9 out of 10 times).
