Our first fight of the evening is a Bantamweight bout which pits John Jamison against Ice Drago!

John Jamison is a veteran of the sport, having amassed an incredible 56 fights in his career so far. He is a decision fighter primarily, with 35 of those fights have gone to a decision, with Jamison winning 14 of those, drawing 2, and losing the other 19. When the fight is finished though, you can bank money on Jamison picking up the win, with only 2 losses due to Submission, and having never been knocked out in his career. He will be hoping to put an end to his inconsistent form of late, having gone 2-3-1 in his last 6 fights.

Ice Drago comes into this bout having exchanged wins and losses in his last four fights, going 2-2, with his last outing seeing him succumb to a fifth round TKO loss to Azusa Moribe. Regardless of his recent form, he is a world class competitor who prior to the past 3 fights was on a 23-1 record, although his career began in what could only be described as dubious circumstances. With incredible power, he provides a threat to anyone in the cage with him, and he will be looking to show it again here.

These two men actually fought against each other back in July, with Drago picking up the decision win. Jamison will rely on his grappling in this bout, or risk being clobbered by Drago’s striking, but I am gonna go with who I view as the underdog and predict a Jamison decision win.

Prediction: John Jamison to win via Unanimous Decision

Our second fight of the evening is a Bantamweight title fight between Rafa Silva and the reigning champion Viktor Tsoi!

Rafa Silva is another Moyses fighter on the event already, and much like Drago, he started off his career in absolute dominating fashion. He went 23-0 before suffering his first defeat, and has just racked up win streaks throughout his career with the odd loss here and there. With 26 (T)KO’s and 30 decision wins, he is a veteran of the sport and a highly respected competitor, and a win here will prove that he can still compete despite getting on in age.

Viktor Tsoi is a fighter from Aylib 2.0, who was most famously described during the Olympics as “King of the Midget weights” by Dean Sutherland. He hasn’t let that title down, dominating his way through the ID restricted org scene before landing in Evo following their buyout of UNFC and has won his last two fights to capture the Bantamweight title. He is currently on a 10 fight win streak, and will be looking to keep that alive and add another feather into Aylib’s cap of conquests in the lower weight classes.

As we’ve seen, Moyses is highly accomplished with lower weight fighters, while just one look at Aylib’s roster shows he is one of the very best with setting his fighters up to win. Both fighters showed heart as their dominant hidden, so I am expecting a tough fought battle that ends in a Tsoi decision win.

Prediction: Viktor Tsoi to win via Unanimous Decision

Our next fight features another title shot as reigning champion Hector Camacho defends his newly won title against the debuting Giovani Castro.

Hector Camacho is living up to his billing as the next big thing when it comes to lower weight prospects. He has spent the past 6 months taking on the biggest names in the sport, guys like Dennis Page, Jami Balkan, Donny Donowitz, Daniel O’Sullivan and Akeen Coker. During that time, he also took part in The Olympics, and went on to claim the Bronze medal. In his last bout he defeated Tycoon legend Daken Akihiro, managed by one of the greatest managers ever in Lance Templeton. He will be looking to prove he is not a flash in the pan, and bring consistency to his career once more with a victory.

Giovani Castro is challenging for the Evo title in his debut here, having spent a prolonged period of time at Syn before leaving on a high note and looking for pastures anew. Currently on a 5 fight win streak, with a Granite Chin and definite power, he will be hoping to make an impact on his arrival in the org, and the grandest stage of the year so far. While his manager may not be as experienced, he brings a fresh trail of ideas when it comes to gameplans, and seems to have found a good formula for Castro, and it’s just a case of whether it comes off as well as he hopes come fight time.

Another great fight here, and despite being in impressive form lately, I have to pick against Castro in this bout, and I will be predicting a Decision victory for Hector Camacho.

Prediction: Hector Camacho to win via Unanimous Decision

What’s this? Another title fight? Well if you insist. A middleweight title fight follows up the incredible action so far as Phol Hunt defends his title against Johnny Reach.

Some say Phol Hunt’s chin is made of obsidian, and that it’s just near impossible to knock him out. Whether this is true or not remains to be seen, but his record doesn’t lie. 28-4 is highly impressive for any fighter, and he has never been knocked out or submitted in his career so far. With 17 (T)KO’s as well, he has proven power, while also knowing how to score favourably with the judges, and it’s that diversity that could see him through to the victory here.

Johnny Reach is a former Evo and MFN champ, with both reigns lasting relatively short times, but he has the ability and the backing to have a long title reign with the touch of luck. 16 (T)KO wins show he has power, and he holds a significant reach advantage in this bout, but he needs to be careful it doesn’t leave his chin exposed if he doesn’t utilise it effectively. He has Elite striking which he will be hoping is too much for Hunt to handle, but his best bet may be to get a decision.

Hunt can knock out Reach, but I just don’t see Reach being able to put Hunt down. I’m gonna say Hunt will get the win, but I feel it will be a close fought fight until he gets the knockout.

Prediction: Phol Hunt to win via (T)KO in Round 3

More gold you say? Well alright then. Another title fight now as Taisto Perala challenges for the Welterweight title that currently hangs around Edogawa Conan’s waist.

Taisto Perala joined Evo from the ITFL tournament, where he was a standout competitor going 8-2 in the season, but sadly could not prevent FinnFighters finishing last in the table. He would sign for Evo following the tournament, and defeated Slim Crowe and Pablo Alvado to earn the right to challenge Bowser Stormcrow for the title. He would lose that fight via Unanimous Decision, but in his last fight he would defeat Slim Crowe again, coincidentally via TKO (Strikes) in the third round again, only this time it took him exactly 1 minute longer. He has positioned himself as the #1 contender for the title, and he will be looking to make sure the result is different this time.

Edogawa Conan had a series of fights with Bowser Stormcrow himself. He would find himself losing the trilogy 1-2, but he has been in astounding form of late. Wins against Jack Daniels and Amisviiksi Tolonen in Evo, and Chief Tappenahomma in Troid, would find him challenging for the then vacant title following Stormcrow’s retirement. In an epic encounter, he defeated Gonna Spanked via TKO (Strikes) with just 3 seconds remaining in the fight. He is getting back to his best form recently, and he will be looking to show that he is the best Welterweight in the world.

Both fighters are highly impressive, and have their ways of winning and dominating this fight. It is a close fight to call, but I will hazard a guess at Taisto Perala walking away with the title.

Prediction: Taisto Perala to win via Unanimous Decision

Sure, why not? A FIFTH title fight of the evening comes to you from the Heavyweight division where Giuseppe Maldini will be defending his title for the first time against Brick Tires!

Giuseppe Maldini is an opportunist, and has been very successful lately with his management team. When he signed with Death Squad MMA, he knocked out the competition in devastating fashion, with Feargus Urquhart and Niko Alzate falling to him, before he would capture the title against another of Bowser’s fighters, Gun Slinga, with a TKO in the 5th round. He would sign with Evo after, and sent out a huge statement by defeating Lucas Bane via KO in just 49 seconds. He would challenge for the title soon after, and defeated Joe Frazier via KO in the 4th round to capture the Evo Heavyweight title. He has been vocal since them, calling out Brick Tires, and the fight was duly booked. Maldini has incredible power, and seems to be more durable than your average Heavyweight, so expect him to try and make it 2-0 against Bowser’s camp with a big KO.

Brick Tires has been in the shadow of Rinky Spider for a long time, playing gatekeeper almost to his title for the past year, but with Spider gone, now is Tires’ time to show the world he is champion material. Much like Maldini, he comes in with incredible power, scoring 33 (T)KO’s from 40 wins. He was recently on a 5 fight win streak before stepping up for a superfight with William Burns, losing via TKO in the second round. He is ready to bounce back here however, and will be looking to capture the first Evo title of his career.

Two absolute juggernauts will be looking to take each other’s heads off in this bout, and I honestly can see it going either way. Maldini has been looking invincible lately however, so I will be picking him to get the (T)KO win.

Prediction: Giuseppe Maldini to win via (T)KO in Round 4

Feels like forever since we have had a non-title bout, so enjoy the Light Heavyweight superfight between Kelemi Seia and Fritzie Zivic.

Kelemi Seia has been in impressive form recently, capturing the Olympics gold medal, being voted the Light Heavyweight Fighter of the Year 2015, and then capturing the Evo Light Heavyweight title from Colin Croft. He would lose the title in his next fight against Vagner Love, but in his last bout he would defeat MFN champion Tiyaro Feitsora via Unanimous Decision. With impressive power, and incredible durability, Seia is a world class fighter and will be looking for his second superfight win in a row. With Mihail Montana as his manager, he has an experienced corner to gameplan for him, and will be a favourite in nearly any fight he goes into.

Fritzie Zivic has highly impressive power, with 39 (T)KO’s from 48 wins, and he is 26-3-1 in his last 30 fights, a highly impressive record, but now is where he faces his biggest test to date. He is the currently Aggressive Damage Light Heavyweight champion, but hasn’t defended his belt for 3 months while he has been competing in CEC. He gives away a slight height disadvantage in this bout, so he will need to get in close in order to trouble Seia, but as we have seen, he needs only one opportunity to pounce.

Zivic’s record is impressive, and while he could score a knockout, I have to say I can only see Seia getting the win bar a hail mary strike. Seia has a lot of experience, and is highly durable while packing his own power, so I will pick him to get a stoppage.

Prediction: Kelemi Seia to win via (T)KO in Round 3

Without a doubt one of the most highly anticipated fights of the year so far as we reach the conclusion of the epic trilogy between Donny Donowitz and Tuomari Hurmio!

Donny Donowitz is an absolute legend of the sport. He is still competing at the top level at 42 years of age, and not just competing, but dominating. He went on a 14 fight undefeated streak last year, en route to capturing the Ascension Lightweight title, the subsequently the CEC Lightweight title, before entering the Olympics and capturing the Gold medal. His amazing run concluded in him being voted not only the Lightweight Fighter of the Year 2015, but also Overall Fighter of the Year. Since then, he has lost a superfight against Hurmio, being forced to tap to a Rear Naked Choke in the first round, before defeating Krystian Wojnasiewicz and Lance Templeton in CEC. He would then have the fated rematch with Hurmio, this time winning via Split Decision to set up this incredible fight.

Tuomari Hurmio has rocketed his way to the top of the rankings in recent times, with an incredible run of results. A former champion in Troid, he was a long time champion running from January 2015 to August 2015, while he competed in the Tycoon MMA Championships along the way, winning a Silver medal as he was defeated by Martin Saint Louis in the finals. Still, he defeated everybody in his way until a title unification bout due to the Troid and Epicity Productions merger, as he lost via Triangle Choke to Boreste Bardanos. He would go back to the gym and improve his game for a while, before being called up by Troid EP to represent them in The Olympics Featherweight division. He would shock the world, defeating Natsu Dragneel, Puntti Manne and James Robertson to capture the Gold medal. A win over John Jamison would follow before the first bout with Donowitz which he won. He would then face Olympic Bantamweight Gold medallist Ron Lemieux, winning via Unanimous Decision, and as a result he could say he has won an Olympic gold medal, and defeated two other Gold medallists as well. He would then lose to Donowitz in a rematch via Split Decision, and now is looking to prove he is the future with a win in this epic trilogy.

This is quite possibly the hardest fight on the entire card to pick. Both men have a win apiece, are incredible fighters, and have elite managers backing them. I’ve noticed Donowitz has declined a bit recently, so I will pick Hurmio to get the win, but don’t expect to wily veteran Donowitz to go down easily in what could be his last ever MMA fight.

Prediction: Tuomari Hurmio to win via Split Decision

Our Co-Main event of the evening is a Super Heavyweight fight between veteran competitor Stack Shillings and one of the hottest prospects in MMA, Floyd Patterson.

Stack Shillings is an incredible competitor, going 8-2 under his current manager as he sits as the #1 ranked Super Heavyweight fighter in the world. He is an Olympic Silver Medallist, having lost the finals to Lexington Snape, but recently defeated Rockford Knight and Jeremy Barrett to sit atop the pile, and he now faces one of the youngest competitors of his career for a long time. He is an exciting competitor, with only 6 of his 51 fights going to a decision, as he has scored 37 (T)KO’s from his 41 wins. This does mean however that 8 of his 10 losses have come via (T)KO, but he will fancy his chances against most opponents, and with Rinky Spider leaving the Super Heavyweight title open, will be looking to capture his first title in Evo.

Floyd Patterson has experienced an almost meteoric rise to fame in his MMA career, as he now sits at #4 in the weight class with just 16 fights in his career so far, and until recently, that was at a much lower level than he competes now. 14 (T)KO’s in his career with a 100% finishing rate is highly impressive for the young starlet, and he can really prove the hype surrounding him is legitimate by defeating a real veteran of the sport. Some have said he may be reaching for the sky too early in his career, but we will only find out when it comes to the result, as he may shock the world with his amazing power.

Personally I am going to be rooting for Patterson to get the win as I would love to see a legitimate young star emerge from this event, and with his heart he has a genuine chance of powering his way to a victory, but I am going to be going with Shillings to get the win.

Prediction: Stack Shillings to win via (T)KO in Round 1

An absolute blockbuster main event here as two of Ireland’s greatest fighters go at it in an epic encounter as Declan Sweeney takes on Rocky McColgan.

Declan Sweeney has enjoyed a resurgence in his career under Mega Jug, bouncing back from a 5 fight losing streak under his old manager to going 11-3 under his management as he won the Legacy Super Heavyweight title, before trading it with a loss and a win against Phillip Dyson. In his last bout he defeated Floyd Patterson, but will be looking to claim arguably the biggest win of his career so far against Rocky McColgan. 37 (T)KO’s from 40 wins is highly impressive, but he has also suffered 10 (T)KO losses in his career which will be a huge weak point for him, particularly against an opponent with the power of McColgan. He will need to use his incredible reach advantage in this bout in order to pick McColgan off, but if the Makarenko fight proved anything about McColgan, it’s that you don’t want to piss him off.

Rocky McColgan has been called the future of the Heavyweight division in the past, and with Rinky Spider moving on, now is the time for him to prove it. He won an Olympic Silver Medal as Troid EP’s representative, and recently defended his title successfully against Lexington Snape, Derfel Cadarn and Hector Hernandez. He packs incredible power, and a win over Sweeney will likely put him in pole position for a title fight against the winner of Maldini/Tires. He will need to keep pressuring Sweeney and not allow him to use his reach advantage, and the Trinity Hall of Fame knows just how to knock men out cold.

Sweeney has a huge reach advantage, but I have to go with McColgan to win this bout. He just seems to be the more impressive fighter, and I think he will come up with a big knockout again here.

Prediction: Rocky McColgan to win via (T)KO in Round 2

And that’s it for the preview for EVO Undisputed 2016! Hope you all enjoyed the read, and look forward to the fights at 6pm GMT. Best of luck to all fighters on the card, hope you all enjoy the event!
