This is a one-off as I had time, inspiration, and boredom. If another event tickles my curiosity in the future I might do it again.

Bushido 15: Road to the Ring

"I don't think he'll survive the war I'm about to bring. I've already been in some wars, he hasn't" - Sam McCullen

"I won't leave that ring without the belt wrapped around my waist, I know it's my time." - Bailey Seung-Jin

Japan has long been a staple for combat sports including Mixed Martial Arts, and on August 18th, a number of Bushido's best - one being the comapny's youngest Champion - will meet in Tokyo to showcase their prolific skills in the Hard Knocks arena. The Main Card opens with the return of former Middleweight Championship contender John Anderson, as he comes up against "Amerikas Most Wanted", the volatile Nick Gonzalez. The next bout will be between two behemoths as the giant Alfredo Sausalito makes his first Bushido appearance against the promising youngster Arnold Vince. Plus, an anticipated match up between two of the Light-Heavyweight division's greatest grapplers acts as Co-Main Event, as All-American Michael Davidson makes his company debut against Belizean fresh-face Igor Rottwel. And the night will end with a world Championship Main Event, as newly-crowned Light-Heavyweight Champion Sam McCullen faces off with Bailey Seung-Jin, the division's brightest undefeated prospect.

Main Card

Middleweight Bout

"Amerikas Most Wanted" Nick Gonzalez (1-1-0, 0-1-0) vs. John "Liska" Anderson (4-2-0, 2-2-0)

"I'm the only motherfucker out here not trying to pad a fucking record. I'm here to take over the motherfucking game and rep the city of Compton homie!"

Compton, California, home of Nick Gonzalez

http://image.prntscr.com/image/17a318de0f4549809f6618ec7f810ba8.png

Not all men are born with a silver spoon in their mouth, and one that has never had such a luxury is self proclaimed "Amerikas Most Wanted", Nick Gonzalez. Nick, along with his younger brother Nate have been causing a storm since making their way into the worlds of Mixed Martial Arts and Kickboxing, with a number of men calling out the pair daily. The reason behind their notoriety is how the siblings carry themselves on social media, Buzz especially. Nick has been known to never hold back when it comes to his opponents, or possible future adversaries and some of the things he has said has rubbed fighters the wrong way. But the Compton native does not care about the opinions of others, as his only goal at the moment is to bounce back from his most recent setback.

Gonzalez made his company debut last month where he would meet the far more experienced Marlo Stanfield in a one-off clash, after the two exchanged a war of words over social media. Unfortunately for Nick, he suffered an embarrassingly quick loss, as Stanfield knocked him out cold in ten seconds. Now, Compton's loudest mouth is remaining quiet as he is hard at work in the gym - as he looks to prove the world of MMA Tycoon wrong by showing that he is a legitimate threat to anyone in the Middleweight division.

Opposite him will stand company veteran John Anderson, who also knows his fair share about setbacks and the struggles of life. The Argentinian has remained quite reserved during his time fighting for Bushido, never revealing details of his personal life and history. What we do know about him however, is that his career has been a roller-coaster of both highs and lows. In his career debut, Anderson got the better of young Jamaican prospect Benson Whyte by way of submission, which also bagged him an "of the night" bonus - the first of his career. After the victory, he begged for a title shot but his prayers were not answered and he instead faced Carlton Landford. Anderson would go 1-1 in his next two fights, and was finally granted a shot at the Champion, Michael Amanatidis. Unfortunately for the Argentinian, "Iron Mikey" would show no mercy, as he brutally knocked out Anderson in the second round. Now looking for redemption, he will face a man fallen on hard times like himself, in what should be a fantastic opening bout.

Main Card

Heavyweight Bout

"Creamy" Alfredo Sausalito (4-2-0, Debut) vs. Arnold Vince (1-1-0, Debut)

Training out of Tokyo, not far from the Bushido Headquarters is the first of four newcomers on this Main Card, "Creamy" Alfredo Sausalito. Originally from California, raised in the city in which he shares a name, this American flew to the other side of the world to train in Tokyo. Until recently, the Californian took part in season 5 of the Island, where he would have an up-and-down career which left him with a record of 3-2 as he flew back home.

Opposite "Creamy" will stand the young and promising Australian prospect, Arnold Vince as he aims to pick up his second career victory, after just having earned his first. Vince has been training out of Tokyo for a while, and he was signed to Bushido before having made his Mixed Martial Arts debut so many questions were raised about his abilities. In his first fight he suffered a devastatingly fast Knockout loss as Olajide Ban Gbus finished him in fifteen seconds. Fortunately, the Australian managed to bounce back and got his hand raised when he stepped into the ring for a second time.

Sausalito is primarily a Muay Thai fighter, that uses his mediocre Boxing and Wrestling skills to close the distance, where he can then engage in clinch warfare. This is a tactic that the American has employed in all of his previous bouts which ended in his favour, and his only real weakness is his grappling. Also fond of dirty boxing is Arnold Vince, whose only career victory ended after he brought his opponent in close and dismantled him with strikes. Vince is a Wrestler though, so the two men have very different styles of clinching, and it will be interesting to see which style prevails.

Main Card

Co-Main Event

Michael Davidson (3-0-0, Debut) vs. Igor Rottwel (7-2-0, Debut)

"My time is now"

"I am happy to have signed my first fight with Bushido. Michael Davidson is a fighter of the same age, and we have the same fighting style. The outcome of this match could be very tight."

Two unfamiliar faces will grace viewers as the Co-Main Event of the evening where the American of few words, Michael Davidson is set to meet Belize native Igor Rottwel. Although half as experienced as his opponent this evening, Davidson is riding the momentum of a three win streak and is looking forward to making a great initial impression as he steps into the ring for a first time. Davidson is a pure grappler that has consistently used his skills in Wrestling and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to get the edge over his opponent, winning all of his bouts by means of submission.

Igor Rottwel is far more experienced fighter, having had six more fights than his opponent, although two of them have been loses. Much like the American, Rottwel is also a grappler, but he is stronger in the Wrestling department. Also like his opponent, the Belizean native has submitted every single one of his adversaries, meaning he has the most submission victories out of all men currently fighting for Bushido.

This fight will most definitely be a grappling battle, with neither man opting to strike as they each have no experience or skills when it comes to the stand up game. Whoever manages to sink in a submission will pick up the victory, and Rottwel is looking to be the better man when it comes to ground skills.

"May the best man win."

Main Event

Light-Heavyweight Championship Bout

Sam McCullen (4-1-0, 3-0-0) vs. Bailey "Beast of Busan" Seung-Jin (4-0-0, 3-0-0)

"Me and me brothers lived in an orphanage for years. Mom died young, dad drunk himself to death. We had nothing in the orphanage, so one of the volunteers took us boxing. Since then I vowed to never be poor."

Glasgow, Scotland. Hometown of Sam McCullen

http://www.gold-dealers.org/images/Glasglow-Gold-Dealers.jpg

Fighting out of the deep south east London, Bushido's Light-Heavyweight Champion Sam McCullen has established himself as one of the company's greatest fighters, in one of it's toughest divisions. In a dominant four fight campaign, the Glaswegian captured the vacant title by defeating the then unblemished Hwarang Kiatsongrit in a match that will be remembered for years to come. But with the Bushido belt, comes intense pressure as multiple Champions have left their thrones soon after first sitting in them - and McCullen is hard at work in training to avoid becoming another example. Before moving to the Nation's capital, Sam had a life north of the border as he was born and raised on the mean streets of Glasgow. The Champion had a rough upbringing, as he lost his parents at an incredibly young age, which inadvertently led him on the path to becoming a fighter. But it was down south where the Scotsman's skills were sharpened.

Location of the pair's gym.

http://foresthill.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/fh_station_01-620x250.jpg

Forest Hill Gym sits in the ward of the same name, in the Lewisham Borough of South East London and it is there that McCullen really began his journey to Championship gold. It was also within those walls where Sam would soon meet training partner and rival Bailey Seung-Jin, and even in their early days of working together, the two fully expected to face off eventually.

"Look, even though it might seem different from my comments, I don't hate the fella. Even though we're in the same gym, we don't train that much together. I've sparred with him, he hits hard, but nothing I've felt before."

Busan, South Korea. Hometown of Bailey Seung-Jin

http://image.prntscr.com/image/4c7d3410310d40cebf946263fcef2cd4.png

"I'm in this sport for one thing, and it's definitely not the money. It's the glory. I want to set new records and then break 'em. I want to be the Champion that everyone remembers for the right reasons."

Bailey Seung-Jin spent his younger years in Busan, South Korea and is the son of a Korean father and a Black-British Mother. It was there in the far east that he got a taste for combat sports, as he began to train under the tutelage of his dad - a retired pro Boxer. When Bailey turned twelve he and his family would move to his Mother's hometown of South East London, where he would enroll in a beaten up and somewhat rundown training establishment called Forest Hill Gym. Back then, the gym only had a handful of fighters and barely any equipment so it was far from being a desirable place to train. It was years later that the young Korean would meet Sam McCullen, the aforementioned brash young Scotsman and the two became training partners under shared coaches. Being similar sized, the pair knew that their paths may cross somewhere down the line.

"Sam's a great fighter and I've known him for quite some time now. I had complete faith in him on his run to the title, because I know what he's capable of. I know I have to stay careful when in there with him."

McCullen's journey to the top of the division has been largely successful although not without setbacks, as he suffered his first and only loss on his career debut five fights ago. The young Scot would enter the cage for the very first time soon after beginning his Mixed Martial Arts training, and a lack of seasoned grappling saw him fall victim to an Arm Triangle choke within the opening round. Sam made a second appearance in the regional scene less than two weeks later, where he faced former training partner Jislaya Koshi. He would dispatch his opponent quickly, giving the world their first taste of his incredibly powerful hands. This fight saw him get noticed by Tokyo-based MMA promotion, Bushido where he would soon make history.

"You know man, I don't care about shiny belts, only shiny coins." Me and me brothers lived in an orphanage for years. Mom died young, dad drunk himself to death. We had nothing in the orphanage, so one of the volunteers took us boxing. Since then I vowed to never be poor. "

After amassing a win streak of three, two of which under the Bushido banner, Sam was offered his first chance at Championship gold - and at the tender age of 19 - he accepted the call. McCullen was matched with the undefeated company newcomer Hwarang Kiatsongrit on a momentous event - Bushido 11: Warlords - where he was one of six men fighting for a belt. The bout was a short but memorable one as both men came out swinging, both being cut early, and each looking like zombies after only three minutes inside the ring. With the strap now wrapped around his body, Sam will have to defend his belt against his teammate and top contender, Bailey Seung-Jin.

"The only good the championship is, is getting me more money"

The "Beast of Busan" has had his fair share of success too, and after having four professional bouts, the seventeen year old's record remains unblemished. Bailey's first ever fight would be against Tyr Hrmirson, in a one-off contract with the now closed Brazilian organisation King of the Beach. After dispatching his opponent in devastatingly quick fashion, Seung-Jin would land himself a contract with the newly formed Tokyo-based promotion Bushido. His next fight would be a step up in pressure as he was tasked with headlining the company's very first event, Bushido 1: Jones vs. Seung-Jin, where he met the undefeated Jon Jones. After only being hit once, and knocking out his opponent in under a minute, the company knew they had discovered a bright youngster.

Seung-Jin would continue to pick up KO victories, as the next two men he faced would suffer similar fates to those before them - and the Korean's fights seemed to take less time the more he had. Now, he is booked for the toughest bout of his career by a long shot as he looks to take the Championship belt from fellow teammate and rival Sam McCullen. These two will make history, come August 18th.

"I'm young and it is still early in my career, but I won't leave that ring without the belt wrapped around my waist. I know it's my time."

"He's a very clean technical boxer, but I don't think he'll survive the war I'm about to bring. I've already been in some wars, he hasn't"

Bushido 16: Champions Collide (Main Card Preview)

Main Event

170lb Championship Bout

Welterweight Champion vs. Featherweight Champion

http://mmatycoon.com/images/belt/20160419233025belto.png Marcus "Cold Storm" Vinicius II (8-1-0, 3-0-0) vs. Gunnar "Mountain" Westerberg (5-1-0, 5-0-0) http://mmatycoon.com/images/belt/20160419233025belto.png

The Main Event of Bushido 16: Champions Collide is unlike any to come before it, as both men stepping into the all-familiar ring are currently the kings of their respective divisions, each with a gold belt on their mantelpiece. As well as the two headliners being Champions, they are also the #1 and #2 pound for pound fighters in the Bushido roster - a true fight between elites. The man set to defend his strap this evening is Marcus Vinicius II, who currently sits pretty at the top of the Welterweight division, having earned a title defence as well as a win streak of five consecutive finishes. Stepping up two weightclasses to challenge the dominant Brazilian is Gunnar Westerberg, a phenom that has ran through the Featherweight division - by defeating every man put in front of him, not once looking to be in any kind of trouble.

"Cold Storm" made his company debut with hundreds of eyes on him, as the 5-1 submission artist would headline Bushido 6, opposite fellow newcomer and then-undefeated Darryl Fitzpatrick. The bout would prove to be less than competitive as Fitzpatrick quickly fell victim to the ever dangerous submission threats of brown belt Vinicius, earning the Brazilian his first performance of the night bonus. This earned the much-hyped Vinicius his shot at the division's first belt holder Scorchio Whitehouse, an English Boxer who had at that time not a single blemish on his record. When the two met inside the ring, the first round was all Vinicius's as he would control Whitehouse for the last four minutes after securing a takedown. The second round however was an entirely different story as the Brazilian continuously searched for a takedown that he could not get, and a three punch combination from the Londoner almost spelled upset for the Challenger. Showing great will to survive, Vinicius would manage to take the fight to the floor, and he then held his opponent down for the remainder of the round. The third would see "Cold Storm" doing what he always does, shoot after shoot, with most of them being swatted away by the Champion, until he could no longer. With only two seconds left in the round, the Champion would give up his belt to the beat of tap tap tap. In his first title defence, Vinicius was matched with fellow brown belt and the much less experienced Tamati Kauri, who would also succumb to the BJJ skills of the Champion in the final seconds of the opening round. This will be the fourth time that the Welterweight king has headlined a Bushido Main Event.

Sweden's Gunnar Westerberg has been on a tear since making his company debut on the promotions inaugural event, Bushido 1: Jones vs. Seung-Jin and has yet to face a setback in the ring. "Mountain" has become the only fighter to pick up five victories under the Bushido banner, as four other men have fought the same amount of times but have not had the same success. On his company debut, the Swede stepped in to fight journeyman Ivan Johnson, where he would fend off three quick takedowns and respond by putting his opponent to sleep in under twenty seconds. His second appearance would go the same way, as another one-sided performance would earn Westerberg another consecutive victory. A step up in competition as well as recognition came next as Westerberg was offered the chance to headline Bushido 7 opposite Chinese loudmouth Lei Zhang, a similarly successful prospect. For the first time in his professional career Westerberg would go the distance, after pouring a beat down onto the less than impressive Zhang in a fight as one sided as his previous two. These consistently great performances earned Westerberg a shot at the division's top dog Esteban Oliveira, in a bout that would be remembered for years to come. The undefeated Champion would start strong, out-striking and out-performing the once thought untouchable Westerberg. But then the winds of change blew. "Mountain" showed his class once again and spent the following twenty minutes dominating the Brazilian, by cutting, wobbling and dropping him. The newly crowned Westerberg returned to the ring four weeks later, as he took the perfect record from company newcomer Sahbandar Sunda, with a perfect display of accurate and deadly striking that ended with the Champion finishing his opponent in the second round.

Now, a classic match up between striker and grappler is on the horizon as two dominant Champions are set to meet in the Bushido ring, in a few days time. Will Westerberg become the first man to consecutively hold two Bushido belts at once? Find out soon.

Co-Main Event

Featured Lightweight Bout

Mick "Lord Fisticuffs" O'Leary (6-0-0, 1-0-0) vs. Vellun Pitopalvelu "Oy Ab" (8-0-0, 1-0-0)

The Co-Main Event will see two of the company's most experienced fighters meet each other in the Bushido ring for the first time, as they each make their second company appearance. Mick O'Leary was spotted by company talent scouts after picking up five consecutive knockout victories on the regional scene, every one coming in the very first round. His power and technical striking got people talking, and thus he was offered a contract to fight for our promotion. The Irishman's company debut took place three weeks go on Bushido 13: Felding vs. Pitopalvelu, where he would earn yet another first round KO victory, this time against struggling Lightweight Joker Leto. His opponent this evening has also had a successful career thus far, as young Finnish prospect Pitopalvelu has had eight professional appearances - each of which going his way. "Oy Ab"'s career began with an 16-man regional tournament, which he won with ease, followed by another single regional appearance. It was then that the Finn would earn his first promotional contract, where he would be instantly given a title shot. After winning the belt and then earning his first defence, the company would face closure and Pitopalvelu's Bushido career soon began.

"Lord Fisticuffs" is a Muay Thai practitioner who uses that coupled with his respectable Wrestling skills to pick apart opponents from a distance, as well as close range in the clinch. Vellun shares the same strengths as his opponent, although he boasts a more diverse and specialised set of abilities. Both men like to box and clinch so we can expect the fight to be dictated by whichever man employs his gameplan better, and out-strikes his adversary. Both of these men are top contenders in the currently shallow Lightweight division, and a shot at the yet-to-be-crowned Champion will likely happen for the fighter that wins this bout.

Main Card

Featured Light-Heavyweight Bout

Clement "My Way" Rongway (5-1-0, Debut) vs. Boris "Laser" Laine (3-0-0, 2-0-0)

The two heaviest men on the Main Card will clash in this much anticipated Light-Heavyweight bout as company newcomer Clement Rongway looks to impress as he faces off against returning up-and-comer Boris Laine. Rongway has had a lot of success in the world of mixed martial arts thus far, and out of six bouts he has only suffered one setback by way of TKO Cut. This will be "My Way"'s first fight in a national organisation, as his previous fights all took place on the regional scene. His opponent Boris Laine is less experienced in MMA, as he has had half the fights of Rongway, one on the regional scene and the other two in Bushido. Also unlike the American, "Laser" has yet to lose inside of the cage or ring, a statistic he will be looking to retain this evening.

Clement Rongway's main discipline is Muay Thai with his secondary being Wrestling, and he uses both to dominate his opponents within the clinch in opposed to striking from a distance. Laine on the other hand is primarily a Boxer and although he has little grappling experience, he enjoys mixing takedowns into his game - making him into an unpredictable opponent. This fight will likely see Clement Rongway employing his usual strategy of attempting to clinch, and Boris Laine doing what he does best, in mounting an unpredictable offense.

Main Card

Featured Welterweight Bout

Scorchio "Enfield" Whitehouse (5-1-0, 4-1-0) vs. "The Sandman" Darryl Fitzpatrick (5-1-0, 2-1-0)

What better way to open the Main Card than a bout between a returning former Champion, and a perennial top contender? There isn't. Still looking to regain his former glory is the first man to ever hold the Bushido 170lb belt, London's Scorchio Whitehouse. Another fighter who is trying to earn a shot at the only human to best him in the ring is the division's #4, Darryl Fitzpatrick. Whitehouse was offered a contract with Bushido after picking up two wins on the regional scene, one by submission and the other by TKO. He would win on his company debut, after going the distance with the now retired En Xiahou in a performance that earned him a chance at the vacant Welterweight title. Obviously, "Enfield" would get past the then-undefeated Hans Schmidtt to earn his place in history as the first man to wear that strap, after knocking out the German. Unfortunately, Whitehouse would lose his belt soon after putting it on as he came up against the still top dog Marcus Vinicius. Now, the Londoner has bounced back with a win over the up-and-comer Erick Darko, and has a chance to earn a titleshot this evening with a win over Darryl Fitzpatrick. "The Sandman" began his Bushido career after earning three wins in another organisation, where he would face off against the aforementioned Marcus Vinicius, as they both mace their Bushido debut. Like most before him, Fitzpatrick fell to the submission skills of Vinicius, and his shot at the belt slipped through his fingers. But since then, Fitzpatrick has earned two straight knockout victories over James Embamba and Jukka Toskala which has put him in a good position.

Whitehouse is a Boxer primarily, and the rest of his game is nowhere near as seasoned as his skills on the feet and with his hands. In his first ever fight he displayed the ability to submit his opponent, but since then we have seen him evolve with his boxing alone, and he now employs a strategy of picking his opponents from range over anything else. Unfortunately for the former Champion, Fitzpatrick seems to be the superior Boxer if only by a slight margin, as well as having a sizable advantage when it comes to Wrestling - which will surely affect how the fight goes. Both men like to box from range, but "The Sandman" has displayed the ability to dominate in the clinch when needed or when he he see's an opportunity to do it, and I believe that is the strategy he will look to run with this evening. A shot at the Main Event winner may be in the immediate future for the winner of this bout, depending on how things play out.

Roy Big Baby (4-0-0, 3-0-0)

Highly popular, highly ranked Roy Big Baby was released by his manager, only days after being offered a title shot against one Gunnar Westerberg. If anyone feels like picking him up from the FA list, they will find themselves with a top contender in their hands!

Edit:

Also there will unfortunately be no preview for the upcoming event, Bushido 17: Magafuli vs. Whyte due to personal reasons. Know that Middleweight Champion Kassim Magufuli looks to defend his newly earned strap by defeating up-and-coming prospect Benson Whyte. The Co-Main Event will feature former 145 belt-holder Esteban Oliveira as he aims to prove he is still one of the division's best, by getting past the dangerous young grappler, Tony Bunker. A bunch of familiar names as well as lesser known ones will come together in an event that should be fun from start to finish. Sorry for the lack of preview, things will be back to normal as of next week, with Bushido 18: Parker vs. Karasev.

The 17th Bushido took place earlier today, and it managed to exceed all expectations! With eight finishes and a number of jaw-dropping battles, fans were left entertained all evening long. Benson Whyte managed to rob the Middleweight Champion of his strap, becoming the third man to hold it, in the span of only 10 events. Tony Bunker got past former Featherweight Champion Esteban Oliveira, in a performance that has possibly earned him a shot at Gunnar Westerberg.

Bushido 19 was an amazing event, full of entertaining bouts and some very interesting results. The event ranks first in the company's history in terms of both ticket revenue and rating, as it earned a staggering 190.63, which is 34 points clear of the previous best event, Bushido 16: Champions Collide. This is due to the guest fighters and Island Season 5 stars Andrey Lobtov and Kingsley Babajide as they took headlining spot, and the two battled it out with the Belorussian managing to pull ahead. Road to Gold Loser's bracket competitors Isamu Yamada and Elijah Judah went the distance, with the former progressing in the bracket and the latter facing elimination. Middleweight John Anderson got past Nick Gonzalez for a second time, has had his wish come true and has earned a shot at the Champion once the current battle for the belt plays out. Exciting prospects Jon Axe and Evan Odds also manage to earn wins this evening.

I'm finally (mostly) over my illnesses so things should be back to normal in terms of event coverage and what not. As always, if you have any questions, requests or any other things to say, feel free to send me a message in-game.

On the horizon:

Bushido 20: Darryl Fitzpatrick vs. Marcus Vinicius 2 - A card full of contenders, former Champions and a number of tough individuals

Bushido 21: Benson Whyte vs. Lee Hedger - Middleweight Championship bout, many other interesting fights between top fighters

Bushido 22: Karasev vs. Letho - Heavyweight Championship bout, debut of Junior Vilson, Rory MacPierre vs. Nick Gonzalez and more to be announced

Bushido 23: McCullen vs. Rottwel - Light-Heavyweight Championship bout, more to be announced
