it is not freedom if you then vote for the same kind of idiot politics we have in Westminster...which so far seems to be the case.

I don't see vote leave winning as it is mostly supported by toffs and nutters

Unfortunately, it seems there are a lot of those kinds of people in the UK

I really hope the UK stay in the EU. Easy warning sign about leaving is that Boris fucking Johnson, a man who is inept with most simple concepts, is one of the figureheads of Vote Leave.

Should - why? 90% disagree

The question is will, not should, but a two of the key reasons.

Economics

The EU is going to be quite shock prone until either the Euro goes or the EP can assert more control on the budgets of member states; having a centralised currency without centralised policy has an enormous number of flaws and the UK was smart to steer clear of the Euro, however even with this the less trade the UK does with the EU member states (and ideally more with other parts of the world) the better for a stable economy even if arguably a less prosperous in the short term.

Immigration

Given the guilt complex of certain people in Berlin, getting any sensible policy on incoming migrants is going to be next to impossible; and bringing immigrants and refugees into the UK has no benefit beyond making people feel good for helping, while having several drawbacks as every wave of immigrants brings problems at least in the short term (a brief look at Australian history will tell anyone that) and realistically it's now long term too as the need for manual work (read: the need for more people) decreases.

In 2013-14 immigrants added more value to the UK economy than they withdrew through benefits...

There are lots of efficient & hard-working immigrants (especially Polish!)

That's neither the demographic of immigrants I was talking about (if you stay in the EU people moving between EU countries has to be viewed at like people moving between states or counties rather than immigration between countries) or the most complete and logical metric to look at, you have to account for things like downward pressure on wages, the need to increase infrastructure spending, and crime stats etc etc.

EU immigration is less than 5% of 65 million so it is crazy that it was such in issue in so many places, but then facts rarely seemed to matter on either side of the debate. Did not really think much of Scots having independance, but the prospect of having Boris run Scotland I would help them saw a gap along Hadrians wall if they needed it. Very glad I have dual nationality, off to the passport office next week methinks.

Edit side note, bonus points to anyone who bet on currency and came up a winner. I really regret not thinking about it during the early going.

it is not that much of the country.

Firstly 16 and 17 year olds really should have had the vote as it impacts them a shit ton more than the OAP vote.

Secondly the leave voters were much more likely to bother voting, people happy with whatever system is in place tend to be a bit more complacent when voting.

Still it is a pretty crappy day.
